All of our food is gone !!
My boyfriend & I eating disorders have been actively causing us to under eat or to the point we don’t eat at all. We been only eating 1 meal a day to stretch out our food. Which is triggering tons of trauma we have centered around food. In 5 days I get food stamps but we can not go that long without any food in our system.
This “holiday” is extremely triggering for us. We would love to be able to eat with our chosen family .
Last night we made THE last of our food and I’m not sure what we are going to do about tonight. I know once I go without food for 1 day it unravels into a ridiculous amount of unhealthy eating habits such as binge eating or fasting. Which I’ve been fighting so strongly against. Food has been very expensive which is part of the reason why we have no food right now which is prying into my eating disorder.
I’m really hoping somebody has the means to redistribute/d0nate anything so I can order us food since major stores are closed today. If not we would have to go 5 DAYS without any food.
Any funds we receive will always & most certainly go towards us buying food, water and emergencies ONLY !! We appreciate all the love and support we will receive.

I can’t find a post about it on tumblr so I’m making my own. Here’s a few simple things you can do this Thanksgiving to be ED-sensitive.
Don’t talk about skipping meals.
Don’t mention calories, amount of sugar, etc. in food items.
Don’t talk about weight (yours or anyone else’s)
Only talk positively/kindly about bodies. Even your own.
Don’t talk about diets.
Don’t mention how much/what another person is eating.

when I was dying
I think it is really fucked up
to start a sentence like this
everyone complimented me
on slowly turning to ashes
'You look so pretty dear'
they said
and I heard
'try harder'
when someone is suffering
from lung cancer
You don't light them a cigarette
You don't
You do not hand a suicidal person
a loaded gun
unless you want them to die
so why did you?
why did you handed me a gun?
what was I supposed to do with it?
besides pulling the trigger
when you are sixteen
and at some point
we all are
nothing is as easy as dying
without anyone noticing
dying isn't like it is in the movies
a 60 second sequel
with blood and wounds and lots of noise
it is a quiet long-term-process

Friendly reminder that consuming pro-recovery content even while not actively trying to recover is still amazing effort! Maybe recovery will start seeming more reachable than it did in the beginning. We need to meet ourselves where we are. :)

Lovely things about not having an eating disorder anymore:
Food just being food, not an enemy, not a problem to be solved. Being so excited to eat my favorite foods because they’re just so yummy!
Not being hungry all the time - only thinking about food when it’s mealtime.
Actually loving my body, something that never would’ve happened if I’d kept trying to lose weight.
Morning trips to the coffee shop with my girlfriend, trusting her to make my tea with extra milk and sugar.
Getting my boobs back and being proud of them.
A soft and squishy body that can do everything I want it to!
All the wonderful friends I made in recovery.
Being able to give my friends advice about their own mental health struggles based out what I learned in therapy.
Wearing whatever I want, not just what I think hides my body best.
Actually not eating all the time! Never binging or eating to the point of being uncomfortably full. Never having to plan my meals out, never calorie counting.
Not crying myself to sleep because my stomach hurt so bad from hunger.
No more weird pains that I think are my heart shutting down.
Running with friends for the fun of it and feeling good while doing it.
Getting my life back!

i wonder what our younger selves would say if they saw us now. the people we dreamed about. the singers, actors, astronauts, doctors. the famous, rich, lived people we were certain we’d turn out to me. i wonder what they’d say when the people in front of them are us. broken, exhausted, damaged grown ups. living a life so very different to the glitz and glam we dreamed of. a life of tears, puffy eyes, scarred skin, broken hearts.
