summary: charles thinks he's good at hiding he's your secret santa.

warnings/mood: just fluff, reader is a driver, relationship established between charles and reader, charles being the best bf. also, I'm not really sure if secret santa works like this, so I hope it's well put, but if it's wrong, correct me without problem!

if you read my previous one shot, you know that english is not my first language, so this is a google translator shit (a bit modified based on my knowledge ), but that's a real warning, so please don't hesitate to tell me if there are mistakes of any kind in the one shot 😭 (i think that's all, but tell me if I forgot something pls!)

Finally all the drivers knew who they should give a gift to for the christmas swap.

You were Sebastian's Secret Santa, and honestly you had a problem because you hadn't been with the German long enough to know what to get him, but if there was something you couldn't stand: they were the bad gifts (the ones used to be given by Formula 1 drivers).

The first thing you did was tell your boyfriend, Charles, about who you got at the Christmas swap, knowing he wouldn't say anything and hoping he would tell you too.

But that didn't happen, instead you got a very nervous Charles who refused to tell you who he should give a gift to.

But your boyfriend was terrible at lying to you and you were very smart, so when you asked Carlos if he knew anything and he refused to tell you, you got closer to the truth. But even so, you weren't completely sure, so you decided to go for your last option.

"Char, would you like to come with me to buy the gift for Secret Santa? Lando canceled and I don't want to go alone" Charles was sitting in the cream-colored chair in the hotel room they shared, so you sat on his lap and he put down his phone to pay attention to you.

"Sure amour, just let me put my coat on" he gave you a chaste kiss on your lips and stood up, leaving you carefully on the couch.

You smiled, and immediately texted your best friend Lando, confirming that your plan was off to a good start.

So there you were, in a mall, thankful that your relationship with Charles was no longer a secret and the media didn't blow up seeing you and your boyfriend holding hands.

"Why don't we also buy the gift that you will give?" you asked when they had entered an eco-friendly store in search of what he thought was only the gift for Seb.

"I still don't know what to give as a gift, amour" Charles rambled nervously "Look, a bamboo toothbrush" he smiled showing it. You narrowed your eyes.

"Why don't you want to tell me who got you at the christmas swap?" you approached him.

"It's secret mon amour" he justified himself.

"Yeah, but I told you"

Charles was going to answer, but a female voice behind you interrupted you two.

"Excuse me, do you think I could get an autograph?" the girl asked shyly and you sighed discreetly, but both smiled.

Charles knew he had just been saved, so he was the first to nod.

"Sure! Where?"

She took off her Pirelli cap and held it out along with a permanent marker towards the two of you, apparently it was already prepared, so you deduced that the fans already knew where you and Charles were.

"Thank you! Good luck on the weekend!" you and your boyfriend thanked and the girl left.

"We'd better hurry, they won't be long in coming anymore" the monegasque murmured and you nodded, giving up on your boyfriend.

In the end, you ended up buying more things for you and Charles than for Seb, but you had found the perfect present for him, so you left the mall happy.

Soon, the day of the Secret Santa arrived, and most of the drivers were opening their presents.

You were hiding watching Seb open his present, and you almost ruined everything by laughing when Seb opened the bag and saw a pair of scissors along with the note you had left.

I'm sure you have more hair than me now, so in case you don't want to go to a hairdresser, here is a simple device to cut your own hair!

Sebastian let out a loud laugh and looked at the camera.

"I don't think that's going to happen"

Then he took the paper that talked about the Maple Tree that was your true gift, one that would be planted according to the needs of Switzerland so as not to alter the ecosystem of the region.

Sebastian had guessed who the gift came from and you soon came out of hiding with a smile on your face when Seb saw you.

He came up to you to hug you and thank you.

"I know, I'm the best at giving gifts" the driver laughed "But already cut your hair, Rapunzel"

They parted from the hug laughing and he shook his head.

"You're just envious that I have better hair than you" you opened your mouth falsely offended.

"Ok, I'm going" you turned smugly and started walking.

"Sorry! You know it's true!"

You laughed softly, shaking your head and you arrived where the Formula 1 social media team was waiting for you.

You couldn't help but get excited, if Charles really was your Secret Santa, what would his gift be?

"Ok, the present looks pretty" you commented nervously, looking at the box wrapped in decorative paper. You already knew who the gift was from (or at least you suspected), but you had no idea what it could be, you hadn't seen Charles buying anything, so you really didn't know what I could have given you; although he already knew everything you liked after four long years by his side.

You brought the box to your ear and moved it slightly trying to figure out what it was, but you only heard some things moving.

You opened the box, and the first thing you could see was a photo frame decorated by hand with Formula 1 stickers, your team, the Friends series, and of course, Taylor Swift. To be honest, it looked like something a five-year-old had made, but that's how you knew it was Charles's, and you couldn't help but almost die of cuteness.

You showed it to the camera with a huge smile on your face.

"Well, clearly I will put a photo here with the person who gave it to me. I wonder who it will be" you muttered the last with a smirk.

You gave the frame to your physical therapist to hold while you took out the other presents. Because yes, they were several presents.

"Ok... These are... Oh my god, these are Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour tickets!" you let out a squeal of excitement "Guys you know how much I love Taylor, this is the best present ever" you said ecstatically, showing the tickets and making a mental note to remind them to black out everything on the tickets except for the name of the tour.

"Well, from the frame with the things I like on it, I already knew, but this confirmed it for me and... I'm pretty sure these are from Charles" you looked at the team and they nodded "Yes?" You laughed "I knew it! Lando, you owe me ten bucks" you pointed at the camera and everyone laughed.

"Okay, just one last thing apparently" Olivia, your physical therapist took the tickets and the gift box while you took a smaller box out of it.

It was small, also wrapped in decorative paper and a bow at the top, so you carefully opened it. Most likely it was earrings or a necklace, Charles knew you loved jewelry.

Carefully opening it until only the black velvet box was left, Olivia gasped in surprise as she brought her hand to her mouth to cover it when you looked at her.

You opened your eyes even more when you noticed the reaction of others and you realized why.

You opened the box with now trembling hands and your eyes almost instantly filled with tears, you brought your palm to your mouth as it opened in surprise too.

It was a ring, a beautiful gold ring.

It contained a diamond obviously, not too big, not too small, the perfect size. The ring had carved leaves around it and the shape that surrounded the diamond gave the effect of being a rose.

You looked around in search of your boyfriend, and you saw him addressing you timidly.

"Is it a...? Char, is that what I think it is?" you approached him smiling.

"That depends..." He gently took the box from your hands and making sure he was far enough away from the other people, Charles dropped to one knee on the ground and extended the box towards you, he spoke:

"I know we're still very young... I've been your friend since we went Karting together, and I've been your boyfriend for four years, but i've loved you ever since we met" By that point both of their eyes were already full of tears and you were sure that you were falling more in love with each word that he said "You know I'm not good with words, so... would you let me celebrate our wins together forever? Would you let me fall in love with you more and more each day? Would you let me accompany you the rest of our days, be the happiest man on earth and become your husband?" he asked you, running out of breath at the end.

"My God, Charles. Hell yeah! Yes, yes and yes!" You laughed excitedly and shed some tears of happiness as he stood up and you rushed to hug him, listening to the applause of the others.

He grabbed your waist to hug you even tighter and spin you in the air while you two laughed.

When you touched the ground again, he hastily removed the ring from its box and placed it on your ring finger, and then leave a kiss on your knuckles.

You looked at the beautiful jewel and then back at him, certain that his eyes were even more beautiful than the gift he had just given you. Sure that what you had just given you was the best gift of all, and that even without it, Charles was everything you wanted for Christmas.

You kissed him tenderly, loving every second of that moment. When you separated, you put your foreheads together and you whispered:

"All I want for Christmas is you" both smiled remembering the song and kissed again until you were interrupted.

"That's not fair, you give me scissors to cut my hair and you get an engagement ring?" Sebastian spoke from behind, clicking his tongue and shaking his head, falsely disappointed, you laughed with the others and saw him approach "Not true, congratulations guys" he hugged you and then Charles "I look forward to my invitation to your wedding!" he exclaimed when he had gotten far enough away from the two of you, making you both laugh again.

"You will have it!"

"Ok, but who will you choose as the groomsman?" Lando suddenly appeared behind you, scaring you two slightly.

You were going to speak but Carlos speaking behind Charles interrupted you.

"Of course me, right Charles?" The man from Madrid rested his arm on your fiancé's shoulder and looked at him.

"When did they appear?" you asked puzzled.

"Groomsman Powers" Lando mumbled and you and Charles laughed.

You pulled your fiancé back to you and kissed him again, knowing that the two drivers would drive off in disgust.

They laughed in the middle of the kiss when they heard the "Ewww" from Lando.

"I love you Charles. Thank you for this" you murmured as they broke away from the kiss and he smoothed one of the unruly strands of your hair.

"I love you too, thanks to you ma belle" he hugged you and this time you finally heard the camera flashes, but far from bothering you, it made you smile.

At least you already had photo options to place in the photo frame Charles had given you.

My favorite unofficial friend group is Rachel, Grover, Percy, Annabeth, Nico, and Will cause yes I am well aware that some of these have no basis in cannon whatsoever but I think the dynamic would be fun like:

They’re all first arc kids and I like to think there’s some odd unspoken bond from that

Tartarus club

Golden trio

Also people forget that Rachel and Grover spent a lot of time together during hoo so I’d imagine they’d be close

Nico and Percy as the token big three kids

Grover and Percy are best friends I will die on this hill

I like to think that Annabeth and Will had a similar relationship to Percy and Nico (minus the crush lol) and that they’re super close these days.

All of them fought in both big wars

Grover as the token straight friend

Rachel + Will dying all of their hair

Solangelo Percabeth double dates

Rachel and Grover stop each other from feeling like third wheels (which rarely happens)

They all hang out at Sally’s … like a lot. Cause she’s pretty much the closest any of them has to a mother figure (except will??)

Annabeth and Will nerding out about science (Physics v.s. Biology)

Nico and Rachel are liberal arts kids to death

They all have a lot of fun introducing Nico to modern day things. It’s so entertaining that they dedicate one day a month to all meeting up and showing Nico something new.

(Annabeth is black eat me) Rachel has curly hair as well so her and Annabeth swap hair care tips.

The girls actually become SUPER close and hang out all the time.

Everyone kind of takes up a big sibling role for Will and Nico. Percy and Annbeth especially and they often coach them through a lot of being-a-good-councilor-hurdles

Rachel teaches Nico how to paint. (I just remember him admiring her paintings in TON and I won’t let it go)

Will and Grover (and probably Percy) grow weed. Will uses it a lot as a medicinal herb, but he also smokes it with Grover and Percy from time to time. Also they all make weed brownies together one time and then watch Disney’s Hercules together and it’s a wreck.

TONS of karaoke, made all the better by the fact that none of them can sing. Rachel is definitely the best tho

Sparring/training together

Rachel and Will do tarot together

Grover Percy and Nico (sometimes Annabeth) play video games together alot.

They gossip a lot

They babysit Estelle

When they’re all a bit older sometimes they’ll just rock up to camp to help out and tell the kids stories

Just hanging out and drinking and being teens

Nico loves to braid the girls hair (like he used to with Bianca)

Nico will summon ancient artists, architects, and physicians, for Rachel, Annabeth, and Will to talk too

They all teach Will how to drive

Beach days

They might go camping or something

Annabeth helps Rachel work the analytics on her social media art accounts so she gets lots of followers

They all borrow each other’s clothes. This leads to a lot of interesting fashion choices

Rachel introduces Will and Percy to anime and they get SUPER into it

Annabeth and Grover build eco-friendly treehouses at camp for the nymphs and satyers

They talk about their trauma a lot. It’s much easier for them to talk about it to one another because they know they’ll understand

SLEEPOVERS. The do all the stereotypical stuff: face masks, truth or dare, movies.. ect

Percy and Nico have a lot of adventures in cooking, which they both like to do. They’ve make at least 8 different types of blue pasta

Will and Percy are honorary horse girls (wills from the country and Percy just likes horses) and they go for Pegasus/unicorn rides around camp

They all work really well in battle. Anytime there is a monster the six of them can usually take care of it in 15 minutes

They will literally just show up at one another’s at 3 am to go get shakes

Percy Nico and Rachel have the same/ similar music tastes and they go to concerts together

They help each other for quests and stuff

A very active group chat

Idk I just want them to be friends and do friend things cause it’s nice and they deserve it.

Catching Up with Gen Padalecki

The run up to the holidays is packed with parties and festive events, gift buying, travel prepping and wrapping up all the loose ends of the year. Add to that running a business and a book club, acting, being a wife (to actor and entrepreneur Jared Padalecki) and mama of three (two boys and a girl), and things are busy for Genevieve Padalecki. We caught up with Gen, and talked about things from family and their new farm to two of her passions, books and towwn. Short for Take Only What You Need, towwn is a site she started with longtime friend Kelly Mickle to help people sustainably win the battle against burnout, both for themselves and the planet, with tips from eco-friendly kitchen swaps and sustainable sandals to self-care.

You’ve lived in Austin for more than 12 years, what advice would you give someone new to Austin?

Embrace the weird, always say ‘hi’ to your neighbor, don’t judge opinions and views that might differ from yours, rather try to understand where others are coming from.

What do you love about living in Austin?

I love the eclectic collaborative community. I've always felt like I could be completely myself here.

What are you most looking forward to this holiday season?

Family time.

How are you and your family celebrating the holidays this year?

We are doing things differently this year and giving our family an adventure.

What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?

I love all the decorating, crafting, and meal making. I find it therapeutic and I love when my kids propose the activity.

Do you have a recipe you love to make around the holidays?

We love cooking during the holidays and all the kiddos love to contribute. It can range from a great lasagna to a medium rare steak (cooked by our 10-year-old), to my husband's favorite, tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons. The holidays are so fun and gathering with friends and family for a meal is the best part.

How long have you had your book club?

I started my book club when we went into lockdown. I wanted a way to connect with people and have an outlet. I reached out asking for a “this or that” book pick for the month and Southern Book Clubs’ Guide to Slaying Vampires was a fan favorite. Next thing I know Grady Hendrix and I are zooming and chatting about his book. It’s been a wild couple of years and I am so inspired and feel so incredibly grateful for all the insightful, thoughtful and thought-provoking, stunning and beautiful writers I have been able to meet, converse and collaborate with because of it.

What are some you’d recommend for gifting this year?

Pony, Red, White and Royal Blue, The Overstory, Tribe, Letters to a Young Athlete, Why We Sleep and Into Thin Air.

How do you consume books? Do you prefer real books, audiobooks, kindle?

I prefer old-fashioned books I can hold in my hand. There’s something so wonderful about the sensory experience, the weight, the pages in between my fingers, turning a page, the smell of the binding. It just adds to the experience and for me is a delectable rush. I also love a good audiobook, especially with all the driving I do, but it all depends on the narrator.

What’s new with towwn?

towwn is growing so quickly and we’re incredibly proud of our community. We just launched our TikTok channel to help spread our anti-perfectionism message about the planet and ourselves to reach new audiences. We’re also building an informative and fun newsletter.

What do you hope to see in the evolution of TOWWN in 2023?

Our main focus is reaching people who want to find solutions to burnout for themselves and the planet, regardless of background and politics. We’re looking at hosting more events where we can bring people together for these kinds of conversations, curating products to help people solve these challenges. You and Jared recently bought a farm…

Yes, we love nature and I’m obsessed with soil health and regenerative farming. I’m hoping we slowly let the land speak to us and thoughtfully nurture biodiversity and tend to the soil as best we can. I’d like to have rotational cover crops as well as grazing animals to contribute to this beautiful symbiotic relationship. It’s also nice having a refuge for our family to get messy and breathe in and get lost in the woods so to speak.

What accomplishment are you most proud of in 2022?

I'm most proud of my family. They are what I am so grateful for.

You went back to ‘Walker, Texas Ranger’ this season in flashbacks, any desire or plans on the horizon to return to more acting?

Definitely, if it works for our family schedule.

You and Jared have been married 12 years, any advice on having a marriage with longevity?

Marriage is the best and most amazing adventure in the world. And like farming, there are some good seasons and not so great ones. Marriage takes a lot of love and nurturing. Throughout our lives we change and evolve into many different people. So, in a partnership, you’re both constantly growing and it’s impossible to always grow together, whether in parallel lines or intertwined at the same time. The best advice that’s been helpful for me is to take time and try and understand where your partner is coming from, and before reacting to anything that maybe feels a bit incendiary or frustrating, give it 24 hours.

What’s something one of your kids did lately that surprised you or made you laugh?

Well, I'm currently watching my 8-year-old try and tell me U2 is the best band of all time I had no idea he knew U2! My oldest sang a song in mandarin at a school talent show and my youngest gave her best ‘Hocus Pocus’ rendition dancing on our kitchen table - all in the last 24 hours! I don't know why I'm surprised by their theater bug, but clearly it's shining through.

So we got the typical backstory for Danny, only Sam here spray painted (eco friendly and recycled) the portal black, Danny was just trying to get a closer look and wasn't actually skeptical, Danny got ecto vomited on by every ghost at once (bro was too ugly for them), and got deaged down to about 10 years old, only physically though, and of course the ecto acne and all that stuff, he has his Ice core still.

His ghost form causes a sense of longing, for the person he'll likely never be able to grow into, as the portal stunted his growth and he'll become a full ghost before he ever looks anywhere close to his true age, not that he'll admit this.

he becomes known as world's youngest billionaire (he got tired of explaining to people he was in fact in his early 40's and just said, if it makes me more famous why not)

Rather than being obsessed with the Packers and trying to buy them, he tries to buy the St. Louis Blues (idk a lot of ice hockey teams, I just thought he would like ice hockey)

he's still totally cringefail and creepy, but he gets away with it cause he barely looks a day over 18 (the amount of times he's gotten kicked out of bars for having a "fake" id is in the hundreds)

He adopts a black German shepherd puppy from the pound and names her Sam (when confronted about this by Vlad he says he only adopted her for defense and not because he was lonely af)

Yes, he did fall many, many, many times before he finally got the hang of running, walking, etc in platform boots

After he was made aware he got deaged back to ten years old physically he immediately checked under his hospital gown to see if he still had the balls he literally paid for and didn't have the doinkers he got with his free X chromosome (top and bottom surgery), and thankfully both are still just as he left them, scars and all (though his top scars changed from just the usual lines to something similar to crowns)

It’s always good practice to be mindful of your shopping habits, but if you don’t have the means to make a change or if certain things are just out of your control, don’t worry about it too much. Eco-friendly swaps and small businesses will still be there when you’re ready.

ok I've been considering getting one! What is your experience so far?

I freaked out that I had made a mistake for exactly the first night lol because there is definitely a learning curve to owning one but now I am in love. Mine is used and over 5 years old and I am also living creatively as my apartment/parking situation doesn't let me charge at home so if you are able to buy newer and also plug in where you live your life will be even easier.

The main thing is that the range readings are never accurate and you have to learn how to drive with battery preservation in mind. My EV seems tuned to run spectacularly at the most common surface street speed limit (35MPH), and the faster I go beyond that the faster the remaining range drops. This is what got me the first night because speeding home after buying it killed like 50% of my charge in 15 miles lmao. But slowing down and learning to take advantage of the car's recharge function when I'm braking (I think this is common to EVs?), I can go the same distance to work now and only use half the number of "miles" in battery power. I am determined to get a good grade in gaming my range so for me this aspect was fun but for someone else it might be annoying idk

Also make sure your insurance company will insure a car that posh beforehand; apparently refusing to insure cars they deem "too likely to get stolen" is a thing (somehow my Seattle ass did not know this whoops)

New Research Reveals We Are Climate Complacent – And Why - Technology Org

The UK public is complacent when it comes to personal action on climate change and, without intervention, meaningful changes to lifestyles and consumption behaviours will not happen, according to new research by the University of Southampton.

Those are the findings of the first study in the UK into the deep-seated preferences of the public in terms of personal climate actions.

The study, published in the Journal of Cleaner Production, questioned hundreds of people on their attitudes to climate change and their willingness to change behaviours.

The research was led by postgraduate researcher Alice Brock and co-authored by Ian Williams, Professor of Applied Environmental Science, and Simon Kemp, Professor of Environmental Science.

Alice said: “Working out who is responsible for climate change is highly complex and highly contested. However, we must address this question if we are to find solutions.

“Households are the largest direct contributor to carbon emissions in the UK, mostly due to household heating and travelling. So, it’s critical we understand our population’s attitude to climate change and to making behavioural or lifestyle changes. This study is the first to get to the heart of that.”

The researchers surveyed a total of 381 people in the UK (in Southampton) and found that the public are well-informed about climate change, with many demonstrating high levels of concern and anxiety – but this awareness does not necessarily translate into action.

Most respondents (315) said climate change is ‘an extremely serious problem’ or ‘a very serious problem’, and 213 people said that responsibility for addressing it lies with everybody (national and local governments, business and industry, individuals, and environmental groups), whilst 117 respondents said responsibility lies with the national government.

Overall, respondents were most likely to make simple low-impact changes, such as swapping out lightbulbs, cutting down on overseas travel, and being mindful of where clothing comes from. Bigger behaviour changes such as changing diet or cutting down on domestic travel, as well as more expensive changes, such as replacing electrical appliances with more eco-friendly versions, were the changes people were least likely to make.

“A preference for carbon reduction behaviours that would have the lowest impact on people’s day-to-day life was evident,” explained Alice. “People are unwilling to make more difficult changes to their lifestyles, such as changing their diet. People’s desire to carry on as normal outweighs their concern around climate change.”

The research calls on those in authority – in industry and government – to take charge.

Professor Williams concluded: “People feel overwhelmed by the climate change situation and don’t know where to start or which changes to make – so it must be down to someone else, such as our business and governmental leaders, to take action. Without this intervention – with initiatives such as annual personal carbon allowances – the public won’t make changes in a meaningful way.”

When Flynn and Reggie started dating, she never knew what to expect. One weekend they'd do the traditional dinner and a movie, but with a twist. Dinner was at a diner run by a troupe of grandmothers who all adored Reggie, and the movie was an old fashioned drive in that they watched from the hood of Reggie's car, cuddled up in blankets and swapping snacks all night.

Their next date was bowling-bumper bowling, as Reggie confessed to be terrible at it. Flynn snorted soda out of her nose when she saw just how true his assessment was, but it was a glorious fun time, and he took her to the arcade after, even winning her a small flamingo plushy from the claw machine.

But her favourite date had been the night he took her to Little Tokyo, where they bought a bunch of snacks from the various groceries stores and gorged themselves on them as they watched various street performances. Then found the best karaoke bar in town, belting out Queen for the whole of LA to hear.

"You're my best friend!" they duetted, collapsing into a giggle pile in the booth as the song ended, smiling vibrantly at each other in the glow of the neon lights.

But then Reggie leaned in to kiss her, and Flynn's whole being burst with song. She was tingling down to her toes by the time he pulled back, and leapt right into a Faith Hill jam that made Flynn cackle with glee.

However tonight, after a hellish week, Flynn just wanted a quiet night in. Reggie had been thrilled by the prospect. "I can cook for you, and then we can kick up our feet to whatever rom-com your heart desires," he vowed.

"That sounds perfect."

Only when Flynn arrived at Reggie's place that evening, he looked rather harried as he opened the door. "Hey babe. It's been-a day, and I haven't had a chance to get any groceries. Rain check on home made food and we can get sushi?"

"Nonsense, we can go down to the store and get what you need, I don't mind waiting," Flynn insisted. "Plus then we can cook together, way more fun that way."

"If you're sure..."

"I'm sure!" Flynn replied, grabbing his reusable bags (and who doesn't live an eco friendly guy?) and dragging him towards his truck.

The store was relatively empty for a Friday night, and Flynn was glad she hadn't dressed up too much for date night given she was sure her usual weekend fare wasn't appropriate for Trader Joe's.

Plus it was nice to get to observe Reggie doing something so domestic, like pick out the best head of broccoli, the best bunch of grapes, and-sniffing the peaches?

"What are you doing?" she asked.

"The riper the peach, the more peachy it smells," he replied. "My MeeMaw had a whole grove of them back in Georgia, so I know what I'm talking about."

He lifted a peach up to her nose insistently, and she sniffed it, smelling next to nothing, but the next one he lifted to her was almost bursting with the scent of the fruit. "That one," she said nodding to it. "What are we doing with the peaches exactly?"

"Oh, I was going to make you a cobbler," Reggie replied. "You're not allergic to peaches I hope?"

"Only to penicillin and pollen."

"Well then I will keep both out of the cobbler," Reggie said with a grin.

Flynn couldn't help but return his smile, lacing their fingers together as they traipsed down the aisles, getting whatever they needed for their supper that night, plus a few staples Reggie had neglected to pick up lately.

"Sorry it was kind of a lame date night," Reggie said as they drove back to his place.

"I actually had a lot of fun," Flynn replied. "Besides, date's not over yet. You promised me cobbler."

Reggie barked out a laugh. "That I did."

The cobbler turned out delicious-even if they ended up eating it the next morning in bed instead of that night given how worked up they got making it.

But Flynn had to admit, the peachy smelling peaches made a damn good cobbler-especially when it was being fed to her by the peachiest guy there was.
