Wouldn't even question it much if your nonbinary. He'd rolls with it and if he doesn't understand it completely he's absolutely googling or asking around to understand it.

Imo He's a respectful little man; pronouns, gender identity doesn't matter he'll respect you!

He's seen through the struggle of being misgenred and tries his best if you solely use they/them pronouns, with he/they pronouns he will try to include the they them pronouns somewhere in there.

And something about gn/masc gendered language, he'd ask you if you'd prefer either one or both to be used.

I think he would absolutely make sure you aren't misgendered. He'll gladly correct others upon it.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s surprise arrival in Washington on Wednesday for a meeting with President Joe Biden and a speech before Congress has unhinged the always-seething anti-Ukraine Trumpian right, triggering a deluge of snark and grievance. For instance, after the Washington Examiner’s Byron York tut-tutted that Zelensky was about to tell Congress that U.S. aid to Ukraine so far was not enough, the former First Son weighed in with this:

“National conservative” pundit and Newsweek opinion editor Josh Hammer, who played the “obviously Putin is a thug and Ukraine is the victim here, but . . .” game in the early days of the war, went full Putin this time around.

To top it off, Hammer, who shares Zelensky’s Jewish heritage, also accused the Ukrainian President of being a bad Jew—unseemly under any circumstances, but all the more so considering that only a few days earlier, Hammer had been spotted at a New York Young Republicans’ Club Gala in the company of various alt-right types with, shall we say, a complicated relationship to anti-Semitism. (Among them: Rep. Marjorie “Jewish Space Lasers” Taylor Greene, the founders of the white-nationalist website VDARE, and erstwhile Jew-baiting troll Jack Posobiec.)

Hammer’s deputy op-ed editor, progressive-turned-populist Batya Ungar-Sargon (for whom, I must mention, I used to write during her stint as an editor at the Forward), at least made an effort to stay classy while making a de facto pitch for throwing Ukraine under the bus:

That’s more than can be said for the vast majority of the “no money for Ukraine” crowd, from the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh (“Get this grifting leech out of our country please”) to Tucker Carlson, who referred to Zelensky as a “Ukrainian strip club manager”—apparently because he was dressed in a olive-drab sweatshirt—and asserted that “it may be impossible to imagine a more humiliating scenario for the greatest country on Earth.” He also insisted that Zelensky is seeking not just to “push the Russian army back to pre-invasion borders,” which even Carlson conceded “sounds reasonable,” but to topple Vladimir Putin and bring about “regime change” in Russia. After Zelensky’s speech to Congress, Carlson brought on former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, the “maverick” Democrat from Hawaii, to sing along with his assertions that Zelensky was actually an autocrat muzzling critical media outlets, jailing opposition politicians, and now trying to shut down an entire church because he finds it insufficiently loyal.

(In reality, the situation involving the Moscow-affiliated branch of the Orthodox Church—one of the two Orthodox denominations in Ukraine—is massively complicated; in wartime, there are legitimate security concerns about its clergy’s reported activities in support of the invaders. However, a quote Carlson attributes to Zelensky, threatening “economic and restrictive sanctions [on] any Christian caught worshiping in unapproved ways,” does not seem to have any source other than Carlson himself.)

Then there was this from Red State commentator Brandon Morse, asserting that Zelensky has done much more damage to the United States than the January 6th rioters:

A few other right-wing pundits, including career plagiarist-turned-conspiracy-theory-peddler Benny Johnson and Turning Point USA grifting leech Charlie Kirk, homed in on the really important stuff: Zelensky’s outfit.

Of course Zelensky’s clothes were meant to visually convey the fact that he’s in the middle of a brutal war. When you’re just back from a visit to the front lines in an area that looks like a ghost warscape from World War I come back to life, you’ve earned the right to make that particular fashion statement—even on a visit to Washington, D.C.

But wait, is it a military outfit or a mafia one? The American Spectator’s Melissa Mackenzie has got the goods:

I could go on and on. But perhaps this parade of indecency should come back full circle to a literal obscenity from Don Jr.: a photoshopped image that put a naked Hunter Biden next to Zelensky on the podium addressing Congress. (Warning: this tweet may be hazardous to your eyes.) It’s vile, of course. It’s also the sort of thing you post when you have no substantive way to attack someone.

The extent and purpose of U.S. military aid to Ukraine is certainly a legitimate subject for debate. Right now, there is a powerful consensus in the United States and Europe that Ukraine, for all the flaws and imperfections of its still-young democracy, is fighting for freedom against an authoritarian Goliath and that its fight is also a fight for the free world and its values.

The question of why the Trumpian populist right is so consumed with hatred for Ukraine—a hatred that clearly goes beyond concerns about U.S. spending, a very small portion of our military budget, or about the nonexistent involvement of American troops—doesn’t have a simple answer. Partly, it’s simply partisanship: If the libs are for it, we’re against it, and the more offensively the better. (And if the pre-Trump Republican establishment is also for it, then we’re even more against it.) Partly, it’s the belief that Ukrainian democracy is a Biden/Obama/Hillary Clinton/”Deep State” project, all the more suspect because it’s related to Trump’s first impeachment. Partly, it’s the “national conservative” distaste for liberalism—not only in its American progressive iteration, but in the more fundamental sense that includes conservatives like Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher: the outlook based on individual freedom and personal autonomy, equality before the law, limited government, and an international order rooted in those values. Many NatCons are far more sympathetic to Russia’s crusade against secular liberalism than to Ukraine’s desire for integration into liberal, secular Europe.

Whatever the reason, the anti-Ukraine animus on the right is quite real and widespread. (When journalist Bari Weiss, who has a largely “anti-woke” following, retweeted a Hanukkah greeting from Zelensky, the responses from her followers in the thread were mostly hostile.) But right now, it also smells of desperation. Ukraine’s cause is still massively popular in the United States, with two-thirds of Americans supportive of sending money and arms. Disingenuous laments about the poor Ukrainians exploited by American and European globalists ring hollow and false when the vast majority of Ukrainians are so clearly determined to resist the invasion. And Zelensky, as the smarter among the aid opponents, like Ungar-Sargon, can see, is a genuine hero: patriotic, incredibly courageous and charismatic, and a speaker so compelling that even congressional right-wingers who initially refused to join in the standing ovations (including Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, and Andrew Clyde) finally rose up during the last portions of his speech.

There’s a nineteenth-century Russian fable called “The Elephant and the Pug” in which a pug yaps furiously at an elephant to get attention and show off how tough it is, while the elephant simply ignores it. Zelensky would obviously be the elephant in this scenario; but that would make the Zelensky haters the pugs—and that’s frankly a hideous insult to pugs.

Eat half of every plate no matter how much people insist I should eat more

Today’s compilation:

SST Acoustic 1991 Folk / Folk-Rock / Acoustic Rock / Singer-Songwriter

OK, so here's one of the most important and prominent independent rock labels of the 80s—SST, who were the top outfit for the American underground movement, with bands like Black Flag, Sonic Youth, Hüsker Dü, Minutemen, Dinosaur Jr., Bad Brains, Meat Puppets, Descendents, and Screaming Trees all on their roster at certain points—trying to cash in on that whole acoustic gimmick/fad in 1991 that was brought about by the immense popularity of MTV Unplugged. Basically, it looks like this label, who at the time were trying to stay relevant and flailing as Seattle grunge and Sub Pop were becoming the new alternative big rock thing, dug up a bunch of acoustic songs from their catalog and put them all onto this album.

But that dawning of the grunge era wasn't what actually initiated SST's downfall; that was merely the death knell. What preceded it was the year of 1987, when the label lost its goddamn mind and decided to put out *eighty* fucking releases. Horizons appeared to have certainly been broadened, but the overall quality and potency of the music itself had also, naturally, been lowered.

And it appears that most of these songs come from that post-1986 period. Now, maybe with their placements on their respective original LPs they serve as solid palate cleansers between all the indie and punk and post-punk and alt and art rock, but with them all just smushed together like this on this release, they mostly just sound like ordinary acoustic and folk tunes; pretty unremarkable.

But there's one song on here that's still pretty great by a guy named Kirk Kelly. According to Discogs, Kelly was never in any other bands and the only release he ever made in his entire career was a 1988 folk-rock LP on SST. No 7-inches or 12-inches or maxi-singles to speak of; just that one, solitary album to his name. And that album's title track, a lively solo tune that's packed with aggressive guitar strums and a harmonica solo, is on this comp and is really the only song on it that especially stands out.

And an honorable mention goes to fIREHOSE's "In Memory of Elizabeth Cotton" too, which, had it been longer, could've, by far, been the best track on this release. A soft and intimately tender folk tune that pairs the male vocal of Ed Crawford and female vocal of Susan Gottlieb (aka Phranc) quite well. Could've used another level, though, I think.

Worth it to mostly ignore this album, but there's still one very good and one decent tune on here.

A set of old doodles and marker drawings of different things. Some romatic Gentlebeard, Crowley in an outfit I saw on Pinterest, an Aziraphale I did to test out the markers, another doodles of my partner, some doodles to cover up marker bleeding, a minion AU that I unironically love way too much from @/luoiae over on Instagram, and a slightly spicy Izzy Hands/Eniera Hands comic (my little fan made spouse for him based of a tweet). It's nothing serious. It's mostly implied..

2. A traditional marker drawing of Crowley in outfit dark out fit I saw on Pinterest. He has his head tilted to the left and has his hands in his pockets. He has long hair and is weaing his usual sunglasses along with some black looped earrings on both ears, a dark grey collared shirt with a dark grey tie, a golden cross necklace with a red gem in the middle where the points meet, a long dark grey overcoat with extra drapey bits that go over the shoulders, and some darker grey trousers with a chain attached to hem of trousers. A small blushy Aziraphale is in the top right side of the page clapping his hands. There are hearts floating around his head. He says, "You look wonderful, dear!"

3. Page filled with various doodles. There are random marker swatches in the top left corner. An expiremental bust drawing of Aziraphale is just below them, he is smiling. He was my first use of the markers. Just off to the side of him is a random ink sketch of a person with neck length hair, huge eyes, and a huge smile. They have no nose off to the bottom right of that is a small chili head of Ario, my reverse AU Aziraphale, with hearts around him, and then at the very bottom left is a small bean version of myself.

4. A small blushy doodle of Aziraphale holding his face and gushing about Crowley, calling him handsome. Little hearts float around his face.

5. A small marker bust doodle of my partner. They have brown hair, green eyes, square glasses, and are wearing a white sleveless turtle neck shirt with a boob window. They look up in marvel and have little hearts that float around them.

6. A messy marker plus blue pen doodle of my partner. He is wearing square shaped glasses, a yellow straped dress with a black, white, and yellow sweater underneath, and a black stocking on his left leg. She is posed with her left leg up, left hand just below his chin, and right hand out. Like a cutesy andime girl pose. His hair is shoulder length, brown, and puffy and he has puffy bangs to match.

8. A page half filled with cursed pencil doodles of OFMD characters as minions, with the other half of the page taken up by part of a Minionized version of the OFMD Stede and Ed kiss scene.

Below them are a Minionized Edward Teach posing stylishly with one foot out and his sword held up high. he is winking. Below him are small doodles of a Happy minion Swede and a minion Roach with his clever, ready to cut off someone's hands.

In the bottom left corner is a Stede Bonnet that looks like Gru.

9. A small pencil comic of Izzy and Eniera. Eniera holds Izzy's teary face up with one hand, finger underneath his chin and their thumb on his lip.

The next bit is a slight zoom in on Izzy's teary eyed face, still held in Eniera's hand. He has his mouth opened slightly, tounge dipping out a bit to meet Eniera's thumb. Little hearts float around them.

This is an ongoing project. I was inspired by some other people who made Warriors of Light for all the Shards (even the lost ones). I had a lot of fun making them, though I haven’t leveled them very far yet. I hope to one day get all of them nice outfits and have even a bit of a backstory for them. I’m aware that I will likely get jossed as more games come out and more lore is given to us, but that’s okay too. They can be AU.

My idea for this one was that I was trying to have as many races as possible, but only one race/gender in the group. So I can have two Elezens but they have to be different genders, if that makes sense. I could also only have one of each Clan for each race.

1. Ardbert. I didn’t bother making an alt for him; maybe one day? I have enough alts to deal with already lol.

2. Khojin Angura

I struggled with her name for some reason, I’m glad I finally settled on this one. I can pronounce it, unlike the first one she had! This is also the third time I changed her appearance, but again I think I’m happy with this final look.

I originally was trying to make her look more affected by fire aether, but I’ve pulled back significantly and only made her eyes reflect that. I also cribbed heavily from Avatar: the Last Airbender for ideas on how to design these characters.

3.  Aleidis Thorne

I got lucky with her, when I was designing her to be affected by Earth aether I just happened to make her absolutely perfect. I couldn’t bear to change her in any way, so this is just her now. I especially love her eyes.

4. Edmelle Norbettaux

I belatedly realized I designed them after Alana the Lionness. They are a guard in whatever city they live in, and go by the nickname Ed.

5. Savvel Djt-bidit

His last name apparently means ‘tempest’ in the Viera language, which is why I chose it.

6. Kazan Buhen

I also ended up changing his last name, I like this a lot better. Kazan apparently means volcano, which is hilarious to me as it was a random pick.

7. Tsimh Dolabnha

Yet another one where I designed her to try and look like she was affected by the aether, but I’ve since decided she’s perfect the way she is. I think her hair makes her look like a calico, and I love her green eyes.

8. Betula Pendula

She ended up looking like a character from a show I like (Roswell Conspiracies: Aliens, Myths & Legends) which I’m not mad about. Furthermore, I’ve decided she’s actually in her late 50s/early 60s. She may be new to the adventuring life after several decades of running a farm and having little to keep her busy now that her children are grown and gone and her husband has passed on before her, but she’s no slouch and easily leaves the younger Adventurers in her wake. Most of the WoLs on this list have names suiting their race, but I made an exception for Betula. She’s named after the silver birch tree.

9. Tutulao Kokolao

I am very dissatisfied with his name and will try to change it soon, not sure what to yet. My main idea for him is ‘basically Batman’ only his dad is still alive and a jerk. Maybe throw some Robin Hood in there too? Idk.

11. Maev Alba

No picture yet, though I do have this character already made. I’m waiting for them to release female Hrothgar, and then I will fantasia her into a Lost Hrothgar woman. Right now she’s a generic lady Midlander. I have no idea how I’ll design her yet.

12. Clementain Dubeltaire

I don’t like his lips, I definitely made a mistake there. I’ll fix it later. I was trying to make his lips look like they had color but it just looks ridiculous.

13. Whispering Abyss

This is the only character I ended up keeping with the idea that she was slowly being corrupted by aether, because it’s the only one where I managed to find the balance I was trying to achieve with the others. I really love her a lot.

Azem

Naturally I have to include my idea for what Azem might have looked like. I modeled them after what Apolo is supposed to look like, and tried to make the eyes look like they glow a little by picking a really light shade. I might change their hair eventually, but I did try to make them look enby and the long hair is important for that. I gave them the name Aegletes Azem.

my first anime was sailor moon, and it holds a very special place in my heart, alongside other magical girl anime.
