(2/Jan/2023: bakuhatsufallinlove went through more proofreading and fixed some mistakes! This was done for the main disc file, not yet for the panoramic version file)

The subtitles are in .ass formats and were synced using Aegisub.

Musical2_MP4 is for the main show in disc 1. Instead, Musical2_PanoramicMP4 is for the panoramic camera view of disc 2.

These subtitles are synced with the officially released dvd but can be used only after transforming the dvd (which has multiple vobs files) into a video file.

In order, this is what you need to do to fully enjoy the musical with subtitles:

A text post for a change! tldr: There's some technical details re: Dayspa Squad which spills into discussion of the software & hardware used, and a few other thoughts. Group pics are difficult with the limitations of the AI I'm using (SD 1.5, sdxl is better but my budget gaming laptop can't run it the way I use 1.5 without overheating), and people have noted that they often look like a row of clones. So this time (and last) I've found a suitable txt2img generation (top left) then re-run it through img2img and added variations in the prompt to produce different, still very similar looking groups, with many typical AI pic problems e.g. too many/not enough fingers & hands:

but from that I'll use Krita + the clone tool aligned to each pic and take parts of each that seem apt; hopefully between all the iterations there's enough non-freaky hands and other parts to go around!

You can see I haven't done a perfect job - especially with the 2nd woman from the left's dressing gown and hand, and the breasts still look cloned. Such flaws and others are much less noticeable on IG with it's limited image resolution and most users having a small screen experience. My excuse is that the milestone came up sooner than expected and I rushed it (I only started after noticing I'd hit 8,995 followers and it took about 20 minutes all up, a few minutes before I hit 9k). But a little more time and scrutiny and even running a couple more iterations could have gone a long way. Photoshop could just regenerate individual elements if you want it to but I'm not a pro user and can't justify the expense (such functionality wouldn't be available to unlicenced users). I'm more familiar with GIMP but I prefer Krita for simple clone tool operations because it loads quicker and the default brush is perfect for how I use it + the smart patch tool is also handy. I could also use the SD plugin within Krita/GIMP for similar functionality but I found the interface too clunky so I prefer to work manually for this sort of thing. This method is the sort of thing I'd use earlier on to fix weirdness like mutant hands, multiple weird bellybuttons and other AI body horror. Or to get a striking individual image juuuust right, like this one or this one. Nowadays the raw outputs are often realistic enough that simple touchups can take care of aberrations. We're not far off having an app that laypeople can use that will make pics like this without a need for editing - but for now I'm happy in this niche. Assets Used (All software free for personal use, mostly free for commercial use):

Software: Stability Matrix with the Automatic1111 WebUI Krita (has a learning curve but so does PS, amazing functionality that I've barely made use of because I'm not an actual artist) Irfanview (free for personal use but I've licensed it so I can use it for work if needed, totally worth it) AI Checkpoints/Loras/Embeddings: Photosomnia Omega (my SD1.5 photorealism model blend) Pregmix 2 Lora (will update eventually but it's not available yet, for now try Pregmix 1 or other pregnancy Loras on civitAI) FreeU/FreeU webUI plugin Negative photorealism embeddings used to help a lot but I don't need them so much now due to how far the model and Lora has come. They still deserve a mention as they have been very useful and will continue to be so with a variety of models: fcneg kkw-ph1-neg Bad_NegAnatomy Hardware: 2nd hand laptop with an i7, 16gb ram, 1G SSD, and 8gb rtx graphics. 4gb nvidia GTX graphics is considered the bare minimum but an RTX with 8gb is gonna be the minimum practical for working with HD resolutions & SDXL. Cheaper laptops will struggle with heat management, PCs will hit your power bills. Radeon graphics can technically work, they're good for people who love fucking around with linux because things aren't working and want to apply that approach to AI artgen software. If you don't enjoy that sort of frustration don't bother. Apple isn't supported for Stability Matrix yet but apparently many implementations of SD will work on a Macbook Pro with the M1/M2 chip and preferably at least 16gb of ram. Draw Things will run on an newish iphone/ipad but I found it too clunky to use for serious pics and it's not practical for high resolution work. While reflecting on the artistic mediocrity of this otherwise pleasing pic, a paraphrase of T.K. crossed my mind, namely that the AI revolution has been an utter disaster for human art. It does have a place alongside real art but as an example I hate seeing AI garbage in advertisements knowing that it's not only deceptive garbage that pretends to be something it's not AND it's also more lost payments for working artists/photographers/models. But I also think that fake erotica photos people make for themselves or share freely are outside of that problem, as long as they don't depict actual identifiable persons. I will not do fakes without consent, maybe everyone has their price but mine hasn't even come close to being reached, which I'll admit isn't possible without some level of privilege.

I'd like to not be judgmental of people who do make AI fakes for $ but otoh AI users must have some level of privilege to be able to access and use the technology. What I have seen with technology and other things is that irresponsible use is likely to be met with irresponsible regulation and I do wonder (not worry) how much longer blogs like this will be legal. I've played Cyberpunk twice before but your posts have inspired me to go for my third playthrough and first as male V so I can try out the Kerry romance. Also attempting to learn my way around the AMM mod so I can play around in photo mode more, cause I'm loving the virtual photography stuff. I'm hesitant to share though cause I feel like I barely know what I'm doing (especially since photography is my actual job and I feel like I should know what I'm doing 🤦‍♀️) and you're the only person I follow that's even into Cyberpunk. Anyway, sorry for the rambling, I guess I just wanted you to know your blog inspired someone 😊

Okayokayokay, but yes, first things first: I'm extremely biased obviously, but definitely go an play Kerry's romance! It's short (I'm just gonna assume you know his questline if you played the game twice before) but personally I found it so heartwarming and lighthearted and chaotic in a good way after all the horros V went through for the entirety of the game until then xD Also, Kerry is such a good, multilayered character and you're not gonna be in the slightest prepared for some of things he'll say to a romanced V (at least I wasn't, but I also mean that in the best way XD). Would love to hear your thoughts once you get there and I hope you'll love it as much as I do xD

Also!! Don't be shy to share your virtual photography stuff! Photography isn't my job, I do have a tiny bit of experience with it through uni (we had a half-year course once, with outdoor and photostudio shootings and all that, and I learned a lot and really enjoyed it). And it's true, there are some similarities, in terms of how to pick and frame your motives for example, but also: it's still very different tools you're using, so it's normal to not immediately get the hang of everything. I quickly went digging through my screenshot folder for some of my first pics I took in Cyberpunk just with basic photomode:

I still genuinely like all of these (even though I think I didn't share all of them publically so far). But looking back with what I've learned since then (the oldest is the one with Vince on his bike, from Dec 15th '22, the newest is the one with Kerry and Nibbles, from February 22nd '23) I also know what I'd do differently to make them even cooler now xD

AMM also had a bit of a learning curve for me, still does in some regards XD But it really brought my VP to the next level, just for the immense amount of new poses compared to the 20-something or so in vanilla photomode, the nicer and more natural facial expressions, and yeah... the ability to spawn multiple characters xD You can do shippy stuff even with vanilla photomode, but with AMM there's... so... many... possibilities...

ALSO! What I'm still trying to get the hang of but which is so so nice and one of the main things I'd change about my old screenies: custom lights. Spawning different colour lights, basically having your own little photostudio setup wherever you want, however complex or simple you want, is amazing and makes a huuuge difference!!

Feb 2nd 2023: The first time I styled Vince to look like he did during his time with Arasaka, vanilla photomode, the only mod I had was one to enter full CC with a shortcut whenever and everywhere. Already pretty cool shot, but in hindsight, the lighting is so bad xD I think I have a version of this edited to death in Photoshop somewhere, but I can't find it atm. PS helped fix the lighting a bit, but yeh... it's still not ideal, but not much you can do about it in vanilla except play with exposure and contrast more in the effects tab.

March 12th 2023: Spawned Vince with AMM, I think the pose is still a basic one that you also have in Photomode though. But his expression is an AMM one, there's custom lights, and I made use of AMM's awesome feature that lets you teleport to locations that are usually off limits (here the Arasaka Counterintel office you only get to see during the Corpo lifepath quest). Already so much better just with some red backlight and a bright frontal light that actually makes his face visible! XD This is also completely unedited!

May 7th 2023: One of my recent faves, post-graphics update, which also made everything look so much nicer in general! I think I had three custom lights (pale blue from the front, bright yellow from the left, and a small white one from top). And I've become a bit less scared about getting up close and personal into his personal space XD

TL;DR: It's a process! We're all starting somewhere, and if you're not comfortable sharing your stuff yet, that's completely fine. It's a learning curve, too, but don't give up :D I think I've really discovered an amazing new creative hobby through this game in the shape of virtual photography (and unlike real people, silly pixel men will hold their pose forever without flinching and I can fly around them and take pics from every angle... but admittedly, getting them to do exactly what I want is definitely a challenge sometimes, cause I can only say "noo, go 20 pixels further in Z direction... noo, too far, 1 pixel back again!! noo, look at Kerry, don't look at yourself, that's weird, stop moving your head around so much!" but when you then get that one perfect shot it's worth the effort and fiddling XD patience really really is key though).

2021 Megaman Summer Fanart Contest Rules Thread *CLOSED*

Time to beat the summer heat once again! Summer contests have been a bit more sporadic than Valentine's contests, but this will technically the 10th one that I've held over the years. (I’m rushing this before work, so forgive me for any typos or things that need better clarification. Just let me know, if I need to fix or clarify something)

Two categories, in which you are allowed to submit one entry for each category, if you would like. If you place in one category, you will be automatically disqualified from the other, for reasons of fairness, and to give other people a chance to win a prize. 

Both of these themes lean more to creativity and design, so once again, I will not be splitting it up into the usual talent and humor categories. Even though humor is not a basis for either theme, feel free to still have fun and make us laugh with your entry, if you want to!

CATEGORY 1:  A cool summer DiVE

Last summer, we were treated to the magnificence that is watermelon Chill Penguin in Rockman X DiVE. It was so...strange and different...that we all had a good laugh, but were also left craving more. The swimsuit outfits just focused on a few ladies, and left the guys out, to a little uproar from the fanbase. So, let's take things into our own hands. 

For this category, I'd like you to create a new Rockman X DiVE summer-themed character(s) and special weapon. It can be a playable character, boss, etc., however you'd like to tackle it. 

Create your finest pink flamingo Overdrive Ostriches, Lemonade Aqua Man's, speedo Axl's, and Avalanche Yeti multi-color sno cone sprayer-toting bikini Hope Stelar's for me! Because it's the only way I'll ever have playable Akane...*ahem*

CATEGORY 2: Ride the Big Wave

Ken Suther is getting ready to hang ten, but he needs a cool new Megaman-themed board to ride the big wave this summer! So he's holding a surfboard design contest at his Big Wave shop, with the winner getting displayed in the battle card store.

For this category, I'd like you to create a Megaman-themed surfboard design for your favorite characters to hit the beach with. On top of art with the board design, put it into use, and draw your favorite character(s) riding the waves on that board.

      Content Requirements:

     * A creative surfboard design that contains something Megaman-related into         the design      * Put that new board into use, drawing a scene with your favorite                           character(s) hitting the water, in some sort of surfing-themed art

PRIZES:

Covid has not been fully defeated across the globe, and I learned the hard way in March that postal prices are still insanely expensive to ship, especially overseas. So the main prizes for winners will still be cash this summer, sent via Paypal. Hopefully next year I can bring back physical prizes.

Day 20 - Best Character Development

This one goes to Khai from Theory of Love

Because it was such a nice transition from too-self-obsessed-to-know to I-messed-up to how-to-fix-this to I-made-it-worse to oh-NOW-I-become-aware-of-my-feelings to I’ll-keep-trying-but-I-understand-if-it’s-too-late.

This character went through so much self-reflection, and he’s very real throughout all of it. I think my favorite part is that it’s not a 180° turn. He has to go through so much trial and error before he really understands and is able to change for the better. Very very human, and very relatable.

However, let me add some honorable mentions:

1) Apo from Water Boyy the Series (I couldn’t find a good pic, sorry) - this series clearly had its ups and downs. But I really, really appreciated the ending where Apo tells Wai in no uncertain terms that Wai messed up and he needs to get himself sorted out first before Apo is willing to have a relationship with him. That is the healthy message that I wish a lot more shows would include. Know what you’re worth, people! And I love that Apo knows what he’s worth. Good for him!

2) Pan and Soda from The Shipper

Before anybody asks, yes, I’m counting this as BL and not queer-baiting, because the end revealed that one of the male leads has actually been having feelings for the other (and I genuinely believe that GMM expected to make a 2nd season to explore this, because the entire ending set it up perfectly - and then covid messed that up). And, I know you can love or hate this series. That’s perfectly understandable. I, personally, enjoyed it, and part of the reason why is this:

The girls start out as stereotypical Y-fangirls who fantasize about the boys at their school being in a relationship. They fail at differentiating between reality and fantasy and clearly take their fangirling too far, negatively affecting the lives of their classmates and friends. However, throughout the course of the series, they come to understand the consequences of their actions. They also learn that nobody truly knows what other people think or feel unless they’re in their shoes. In the end, they both do come around and ultimately choose to do what is best for the people around them, regardless of their own wishful fantasies. It’s a lesson in selflessness and love of the greater good. It’s quite beautiful, actually.

I really admire your work. I have been doing photo manips with Photoshop for some time and would like to get into AI based work. But where to begin? Can you suggest a starting point? Also, is there any AI software out there that will allow me to create different facial expressions from a single image as a source? Thanks very much.

It's hard to know what to recommend so I'll do 2 things - 1. leave this Beginner's Guide Link here, and 2. summarize how I ended up here:

I started with DreamStudio which is more or less the official Stable Diffusion service. It's still a great place get familiar with the various settings, but the nsfw filter will be very frustrating if you're producing curvy content, and they don't have the best photorealism models. It also offers access to their API which means you can use it from within Photoshop, though you'd have to pay for it. (I used to just spam accounts to get endless free access, I did let them know that this was a loophole people were exploiting, afaik they never fixed it). After that I tried out various Colabs - the original demo is worth playing with if you're comfortable tinkering with code a little, as it explains how it works. I used to recommend this virtual notebook to run Stable Diffusion, Unfortunately Google has disallowed using colabs for webUI implementations for free. But you can still pay to use it, or try a different paid cloud service as per the links on that page. Due to the popularity of AI artgen all the free ML services are clamping down on such use.

Finally I treated myself to buying a 2nd hand gaming laptop with 8gb of VRAM, and installed the automatic1111 webui version of Stable Diffusion using this installer, way easier than trying to install Python and CUDA and all the other things needed to make it work.

So that's the short version of how I ended up here, without going into detail about model merging, what settings to use and other important stuff. Maybe I better walk it back a little - Stable Diffusion is the core program that generates AI art, it runs the backend of almost all the apps and sites available. There's different interfaces for getting inputs and outputs to the core program, the webUIs let you control Stable Diffusion via your browser, and the most popular one is stable-diffusion-webui which is maintained by automatic1111 on github. Other programs such as Easy Diffusion use their own app to control the SD backend. Part of the reason for the auto1111 webui's popularity is the wide range of extensions it supports, such as a plugin for controlling it from within editors such as Photoshop, GIMP, Krita and even PhotoPea iirc.

Aside from Stable Diffusion, Midjourney is still the best AI artgen system even though the interface is discord based, unfortunately it filters inputs and outputs strictly so it's of limited use to people creating erotic art. I haven't tried Bing, and I don't use Photoshop so I haven't tested their Generative Fill tools, my understanding is that it's their in-house implementation of Stable Diffusion, idk how limited it is for erotic content but I assume it's an excellent tool otherwise.

Because I mess around with computers a lot I've sort of worked it out as I go and don't know which how-to guides to recommend but there's a lot of good youtube guides out there and that first link isn't too bad. Stable Diffusion has vast untapped potential for photo manip artists especially with inpainting models, but that's a whole other thing. Only reason I haven't gotten into that is I'm no longer comfortable editing and sharing people's pics without permission, but 20yo me probably wouldn't have left the house if I had this to play around with back in the day. As for varied facial expressions from a single source, I think that's something that can be done but I don't know how to do it myself.

Hope some of this makes some sense. It's my way of saying IDK where to start, it really depends on what hardware you have available and how comfortable you are with stuff like command lines and code, but wherever you're starting from - there's options that will work for you.

While I’m working on writing for Naegami week 2021 I thought I’d post this pic of my OC Kitty & ramble about her. I kind of need to fix up her design a little(the head on shoulders looks off & she’s not wearing her neck ribbon) but this mostly is how she looks.

Kitty is a living plush toy that despite her sharp looking teeth & ruby red eyes is a softie. She is often both curious/easily confused & also at times easily nervous. Kitty likes to cuddle & explore, she’s made of a soft cloth possibly used in baby cloth toys.

I mostly ramble about her history below this so just click read more if you aren’t already on the page for this post.

Ignoring a lot of stuff is in a sense my 2nd ever OC. She originated as my first ever Neopet(I forget her name it was either Kitty-insert random numbers- or was Kitty__-insert random numbers-), she was a yellow Xweetok at some point I left her at the Neopet pound & later felt bad later so since I couldn’t find her I tried to remake her. At some point I wanted a MSP Poogle(never had the money to get the map) & decided to make Kitty one if given the chance.

I don’t remember much after that but at some point I think in middle school I got into watching YouTube over playing Neopets. With being on YT I ended up in the Sonic fandom some, along with my Sonicsona repeatedly being redesigned I made Kitty into my living plush Chao. She went from a Chao that looked like a baby Xweetok & MSP Poogle mix to a MSP Poogle Chao.

Later on she’d end up just a living plush that looked some like a MSP Poogle & had some edits to her design until now.

Below are two past refs I made for her(first one if the first ref I ever made, second is an updated one but not the most recent) neither are used anymore but second might be used a little for some fix ups. I don’t know why I called her Gear Kitty at one point.
