Haikyuu Angst fanfic recs
EDIT: I added in the ships for each fic LOL, prolly should’ve done it like that from the beginning smh my bad :’)))))
EDIT 2: I made a pt 2 linked HERE
No one asked me to do this, but I’m providing it anyway because we all need a little angst in our lives. Right? Anyway, this entire thing is going to be something you need to read warnings, tags, and summaries in advanced because everything here will be angst. Anyhoo, in no particular order, here comes the sadness... And also don’t come at me for putting fics I’ve recommended in the past,,,, it’s an angst post I have to put all of them.
WARNING: Almost all of these fics deal with either some sort of death, trauma, or mental illness so please I BEG OF YOU to proceed with caution. Also in NO way am I romanticizing any of these things, these fics recs are merely pieces I thought were written extremely well, and that portray major events from multiple perspectives skillfully. If you are struggling, please contact a hotline and get help, you are never in this alone!
National Suicide Hotline: 800-273-8255
boiled frogs by reginagalaxia (E) 91.5k /MatsuHana/ is it possible to hate a character this much? I never realized how much hate/rage I had in me. Really. Like. Imma boutta fight this MF LIKE SQUARE UP. The way I tried to manifest a fake characters death like,,,, Anyway. If my RAGE doesn’t explain how good of a freakin writer they are, then idk what will. (PLEASE READ THE TAGS, THERE ARE SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!)
In Another Life by LittleLuxray (T) 23k /BokuAka/ it’s a classic, what can I say? You into some BokuAka angst? Here’s the fic. Go right ahead. Don’t be shy :’)
the galaxy is endless (i thought we were, too) by cosmogony (T) 30.9k /KuroKen/ again, a classic. We do love a good soulmate AU tho :)))))))
^^ I didn’t write much here cause I wrote my general thoughts on a different post (linked here) so yea it’s not that I don’t like the fic, it’s just that I didn’t want to be more redundant than I already am LOL.
Oikawa's Last Wish/es by DanaiaCake (G) 5.1k /IwaOi/ this one, man it’s short but painful LOL. Proof that angst doesn’t have to be long to completely break you ahhahah. It actually has a sequel (which is less angsty), but yea if you like finish this fic and are like broken, read it for some.... glue?
The Sky and Guilt Are the Only Feelings I Have Left by oopsthisisqueertoo (NR) 267.7k /BokuAkaKuroo/ ngl I picked it up as a rec from someone else after misreading that it was THIS long haha. But like I kept reading, and the suspense omg. It HAS a happy ending, so if you’re reading it and you start to feel empty, push through (tho take breaks) and finish because it DOES end HAPPY. (PLEASE READ THE TAGS, THERE ARE SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!)
Made to be Broken by todxrxki (T) 8.1k /KuroKen/ this one focuses more on the after than the build up, and it made me so sad (as it should cause this is literally an angst fic rec post smh @ myself). I usually don’t cry too much but this one made the waterworks turn ON. Sighhhhhhhhhhh. Bless Akaashi.
Even Though it All Went Wrong by plumtrees (T) 9.2k /MatsuHana/ THIS IS THE REASON THIS POST CAME TO BE. I love this fic with all my heart (or what’s left of it). Like LOVE as in, this fic really broke me beyond just breaking me. Like. When Oikawa says what he says to Mattsun after the thing (you’re sorry __ _____ __ ____) and the Iwa right after (we know __’__ ___ ______ to make you ____ __ ____) (if you’re wondering wtf I’m putting here, just ctrl F you’re sorry and you’ll see), you cannot believe how hard that hit. GOD. (I am okay if you’re wondering :’)) This is my #1 favorite angst fic of all time and if you are okay mentally and have read the tags and warnings and are fine with them, then please read it. (PLEASE READ THE TAGS, THERE ARE SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!)
Better For Us Both by abrandnewheart (M) 15.7k /SakuAtsu/ THE MUG FIC. There was a sequel and when I saw that it took me another week to read it cause I was like,,, am I ready to have my heart break again? No LOL. But the sequel is actually not as angst, so if you want like a semi-broken whatever, just read the sequel LOL. It’s so sad and it made me physically hurt every time someone even mentioned mugs afterwards (LOL why am I so dramatic but it’s the truth :///). Go ahead and hurt with me.
Crumbling Foundations by Captain_Hughes_ZU, ToshiChan (T) 106.3k /MULTI/ I was debating whether or not to put this fic cause it actually doesn’t even have the angst tag (which I personally think it should). Honestly, it’s more a trauma fic than an angst fic idk I just wanted to put it somewhere because it’s written super well and although it was technically a ‘happy ending’ the interviews after prove else. Despite only being rated T, it’s got some intense TW so (PLEASE READ THE TAGS, THERE ARE SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!)
arbitrary nature of thought. by wadingpool (NR) 5.6k /SunaOsa/ this....... ah... ahh.... The pain...... I really love the SunaAtsu friendship agenda. The ending was happy (I keep doing this LOL) but the build up to the break,,,,, AHHHH. Yea the ending was really heartwarming....... BUT THE BEGINNING. Yea it really jumbled me up..... JFLJDSFLKJHDLFHS
How To Be A Kick-Ass Brother: A Guide by Miya Atsumu by Egosdelirium (E) 25k /SakuAtsu + SunaOsa/ what personal vendetta do I have against Osamu? Nothing, literally nothing he just happens to always suffer in the fics I choose oops. This fic is one I really like, and it portrays the close outsider’s perspective on a horrific event really well. I was iffy on putting this in because it’s not really the angst type I was going for (more death less trauma?) but I really liked this fic, and while I was making my end note, I kept thinking about it so yea. Atsumu best boy. (PLEASE READ THE TAGS, THERE ARE SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!)
You might be thinking, done already? Wellllllll there were a lot of fics where I decided against putting them on (cause I felt like it didn’t really match what I wanted to be recommending but idk what the theme was LOL oops but yea I would look at a fic and think well it is angst but not the right TYPE of angst y’know?) and I really hate reading angst (there’s a lot of days where I shouldn’t cause my mental health said no thanks LOL). Also I wanted like FULL angst fics, but most of them have like happy endings (which made some of these iffy and is good but also it wasn’t what I wanted to put :////) So yes, I may add to this post (we’ll see) but like it’ll depend on whether I can convince myself that reading angst at 4 am is a good idea LOL. (pls recommend me some too!)

THIS ACCOUNT IS NOT DEAD
Hey all! I am SO SORRY for being so silent these last few months! Between serious things (like the pandemic and trying to figure out what to do for the foreseeable future job-and-schooling-wise) and the not so serious things (falling into Genshin hell, jumping between Duel Links and AFK Arena, and playing ACNH), I have had no desire to be on Tumblr. I may move over to Twitter, since I am MUCH more active there, but idk. Point is, I`ve felt guilty not posting in a bit, so I wanted to give an update!
I`ll also plug my main Twitter if anyone wants to see me RT random stuff I like and talk about shit. (Edit: Forgot to actually add my Twitter smh. It`s @musicaltigresa . Sorry about that lol!
P.S: If I decide to make a Twitter account, I will post another update with a link. I may also need help with a Twitter version in terms of submissions, since I wouldn`t know how those would work lol. Thank you all so much for following this silly account!

Can I ask, what’s your secret? Lol I be wanting to write and I have a bunch of ideas in my head but as soon as I’m in front of a my laptop my brain just turns off. Lights on but no one home type of tea lol. So I’ve got to know how you become motivated to write such amazing stories consistently? I love your work and it’s inspired me to want to write
Believe it or not, I am not consistent. I am the worst at consistency and I am ashamed of myself. SMH
It’s hard to commit to writing especially when you don’t want to and don’t have anything coming out. First and foremost, DON’T PUT SO MUCH PRESSURE ON YOURSELF. You are amazing, your mind is incredible and your writing is great.
I know that seems easier said than done but really the more pressure you put your self under the more stressed you are about writing. I still have moments like this where I’m like I have to get this right, I have to make it so good everyone loves it and then nothing comes out and if it does it is all wrong. It’s that added stress you’ve added. Get rid of it. Forget everything get yourself in the mind frame that you are writing for your enjoyment, to flex and grow your creativity. This is fun, right. I would say mind frame/mindset is 90% the battle.
Moving forward, let your fingers go and let whatever comes to mind just come out. Don’ t think if it makes sense if it fits a plot, just write. Don’t edit and write either. Start with a basic premise and see what comes out.
I’d also add to use music as a resource. It can be used as inspiration, background noise, whichever you like. Music can serve as such a great tool. So many ideas can come from a song, a tune, a word.
These are just a few things I can think of to help. I hope this was helpful. I’ll also link another question I answered on this. It is about CE but it can be tweaked to make it generalized.
LINK
Thank you so much for reading any of my work and the support. It is appreciated.❤️
Stick with it hun, I promise it will get better. ❤️ ❤️
Remember it/the writing craft is like a muscle. The more you work it and test it and push it to its limit the better it gets, the better you get, the more comfortable you are with it.

How to Start Your Own Writing Blog
This is more centered on a kpop/requesting blog, but the basic principles can still be applied to any other writing blog. Feel free to change or omit any of these steps. These are just what I’ve found to be the basics. Here is a link to my blog, @kaffeinic. You can check it out if you have trouble understanding anything here or you’d like to ask me a question. Asks are always open!
Tumblr media
~
Step One: Naming Your Blog
Tumblr media
This seems pretty self-explanatory and plainly obvious, but I’ve seen so many people start up a blog with a name that’s unoriginal or mundane, or just something they don’t like.
If you’re planning on capturing people with your writing, you need to be willing to make a name for yourself. Let’s say your blog picks up some good traffic, and you suddenly change your username. Your readers will be extremely confused until they click on your blog. Some readers - like myself - might even unfollow if they don’t recognize you.
Moral of the story: Pick a unique name that you love.
~
Step Two: Masterlist/Navigation
Tumblr media
This should be - and I cannot stress this enough - your first post. You can take a look here at my main masterlist. Note that I write for multiple bands and have made separate masterlists accordingly. Always link your masterlist in your bio - it’s best as the first link - for easy access.
If you have sub-categories such as myself, then it’s best to make headers separating different styles of writing. It helps your readers to find exactly what they want to read. Some people like headcannons, and some people like to read full-length fanfictions. You can use this method to separate different forms of graphic art as well. Here is an example of how I’ve divided my work into digestible categories.
~
Step Three: About
Tumblr media
This one isn’t completely necessary, per se, but I’ve found most people like to know more about the author of their favourite literary pieces. Even if it’s just a simple list of basic facts about you, make a post for it. Link it in your bio for easy access. In my About page, I’ve added these items as my starting point.
Name: (If you’re comfortable sharing it.)
Pen Name: (If you have one.)
Personal: (If you’d like to provide your personal blog, I would put it here.)
ID: (She/He/They/etc. This one may seem odd, but I’ve been referred to as male when I am very much not a male. It just gives your readers an idea of how to speak to you.)
Age: (If you’re comfortable sharing it. Be sure to check it occasionally, or after a birthday to make sure it’s still up to date.)
Languages: (Very useful if you speak more than one language and want your readers to know.)
MBTI: (Completely optional, not really necessary. I’ve added mine because it gives people a somewhat general idea of what I might be like.)
Below this, you can add a Q&A section - which is what I did - or any other bits of information. It’s all up to you!
~
Step Four: FAQs
Another completely optional post, but if you’re tired of getting asked the same question over and over, make yourself a FAQs page and link it to your bio. Here’s what mine looks like.
~
Step Five: Rules
Tumblr media
This is mainly for requesting blogs, but it’s always good to have some ground rules for how you do things. Be very clear on what you want and what you will and will not tolerate. Here is my Rules post, linked in my bio as well.
~
Step Six: Settings
Tumblr media
Here’s a few things you might want to set up in your settings.
Are you creating a requesting blog? (Where other bloggers ask for something specific for you to write.) Make sure you have your asks turned on. Decide if you are willing to accept anonymous requests and toggle the setting accordingly. Note that you can also edit the ask box text.
Would you like to integrate your followers’ ideas? Turn on submissions. This allows another blogger to send in a post for you to approve or disapprove of before posting.
I’ve found that it’s always a good idea to allow Tumblr to pin your most popular posts to the top of your blog. It gives readers a general idea of what you write and can captivate them as well, if they see something they like. This can be toggled in the settings.
~
Step Seven: Taken Anons
Tumblr media
I wouldn’t bother with this one unless you have anonymous asks turned on, but if you do, it’s become common practice on Tumblr for someone to name themselves anonymously, such as the 👽 Anon, Happy Anon, etc. Here is my Taken Anons page. It’s just a simple bulletpoint list of names people have claimed.
~
Step Eight: Create a Format
Nothing bothers me more than looking at two similar posts on a blog and noticing that the formatting is messy, disorganized, and/or inconsistent. I may be wrong, but I don’t think I’m the only one who feels this way.
Creating a format adds a cleanliness to your blog and gives you a template to add your posts to. My basic format is as follows:
[Title]
[Ask box submission] (If there is one. Never be afraid to write something no one has requested. Your blog is your safe haven of creativity. Use it as you please. As a side note, most blogs don’t have requests when they first start out, so many of your first posts will be of your own accord.)
- [Sender]
[Divider] (I use these: ~ )
[A/N or Notes] (Optional)
[Divider] (If notes were added.)
[Text] (The actual writing piece I’ve done.)
[Divider]
[Disclaimer] (Mine just claims ownership of the writing, but dismisses ownership of the gif/photo that was used in the post. Never, ever, EVER forget this.)
[Divider]
[Taglist] (If you have one. Make sure Tumblr has actually linked the blogs to the post or your tag list won’t be notified.)
As always, feel free to change it up. Your formatting is your choice. I would just recommend you remain consistent with each post by using a format.
I actually have a post in my drafts at all times that outlines each of my formats just for my own personal reference. It’s very useful and I highly recommend you do the same.
~
Step Nine: Other Posts
You’ll probably end up adding more posts to your bio the longer you have your blog, such as a queue, prompts list, or other social media. I also keep a VIPT list (VIPs & Taglist.)
~
Step x: How to Add Links to Your Bio
I’m just going to address this here so that I’m not asked a million times, because 1oRd kN0wS I had a hard time, and I even studied HTML years ago. I was so annoyed when I used the correct coding and nothing happened. Smh
Tumblr media
Moving on, here’s how:
To add a link to your bio, you must use a computer/laptop, or - I do this - request the desktop site from your mobile device. It’s typically under the settings in most browsers, labeled as “Request Desktop Site.”
Click on your blog and choose “Edit Appearance.”
Browse the menu under your header and profile until you see “Edit Theme.” Select it.
Copy and paste the exact text in black to your bio: <a href="YOUR LINK HERE"> YOUR LINK TITLE HERE (Example: Masterlist) </a>
Make sure that the quotations around your link are straight, (") not curly(“). This is vital. Your link will not work otherwise.
Click the “Save” button at the top and test your link.
For line breaks, use this code: <br>
~
Personally, I can’t think of anything else to add. My fellow Tumblr writers, feel free to reblog with more information! Happy writing, everyone~~~!
~
* DISCLAIMER: I do not own any gifs/photos used in this post. I do own the written content. Do NOT repost/edit. *

SO I DID A THING…
This is basically a timeline of major events in OMGCP That I created, at first to help myself, but then I decided “why not post it? Other people may find it helpful”. Not going to lie, the Check Please timeline can be a little confusing, considering the comic is still taking place in 2016. Obvs that’s not Ngozi’s fault bc the updates take time, so it’s understandable that the comic isnt present day… anyways I’ve done extensive research on the following information. And I’m like 95% sure that it’s all correct but some things are speculation and assumptions. I’ve used blog posts, tweets, and the actual comic to figure out the below information. It’s not a big deal and maybe it doesn’t matter to you, but idk it really interests me and maybe it will interest others????? Like I said before, a lot of this is speculation so FEEL FREE to correct me on any false info. ALSO!!! If any of you have links to the canon confirmation of some of the things that I’m not 100% sure about, PLEASE link them to me. FINALLY, if anyone wants me to link them to some of my references for this, then just ask and I’ll be more than happy to send you them. So with that: these are (what I consider) to be the major events in the time line of Check Please! Hope I got it all right!
**Edit!!!!: I messed this up originally. I screwed up some birth years and now I’m back to fix them. So don’t be alarmed if you reblogged this and now its different. Im like 99% sure that I’m changing it to all true info.
Birthdays
Jack- 1990 (birthday august 3)
Kent Parson-1990 (birthday july 4)
Holster-1991 (birthday unknown)
Shitty-1992 (birthday dec 19)
Ransom-1993 (birthday march 28. I am very confused because according to the wiki, ransom was born in 1994. However, a tweet from Bitty on March 28th, 2015 says “happy 22 birthday rans!” which would place his birth year in 93. Also a very early piece of artwork says that ransom is 20 in the beginning of his sophomore year, which further indicates being born in 93. Long story short? Don’t believe everything you read on the wiki)
Lardo- 1994??? (birthday unknown but according to the wiki, Lardo is currently 23 years old as of April 1st, 2018 (when I’m writing this). However the wiki can not always be trusted.  We know her birthday is around Ransoms but we don’t know when exactly. Her and Rans has a combined birthday party (Keagster) on Easter Sunday 2015 (which technically was April 5, 2015….Idk if I should be that technical but whatever) so I’m kind of assuming that her birthday is around Late March/Early April….as for her birth year? All we are told is that she is a sophomore with rans and holster. so I’m assuming that she was born in 94 because its the easiest assumption to make, but i could always be wrong)
Bitty: 1995 (birthday may 5)
Nursey: 1996 (birthday feb 14. There is not a ton of supporting info that suggests Nursey was born in 1996. The wiki’s reference is a tweet from Ngozi, replying to a private account so I cannot view the tweet. Basically I don’t have a great argument for Nursey being born in 1996 so once again, I’m ASSUMING. Please send me any info that you have on Nurseys birth)
Dex: 1995??? (Birthday October 26/27, I’ve seen both dates. However I’ve yet to find ANY canon confirmation that either of these dates are his birthday. Everyone just kind of says that its his birthday?? Idk if anyone has canon info or something please link me to it because I can literally not find anything about Dex’s birth. Also its been pointed out to me that he could be born late in 1995, however I originally assumed he was born late in 1996. It depends on wether he was held back a year or pushed forward.I have no clue it honestly could be either.)
Chowder: 1995?? 1996?? (October 11. I’ve seen people on tumblr saying it’s on the 10?? Idk according to Bitty’s tweets its on the 11th. Also the birth years?? Its the same situation as Dex… He could either be born in 95 and held back a year, or 96 and pushed foward )
2008: Jack and Kent are both 18, playing in the Q
Spring 2009: Jack and Kent win memorial cup. Jack overdoses. Kent is drafted to the Aces.
Fall 2009-Spring 2011: Jack is in rehab/ coaching peewee/taking SATs
Spring 2011: Aces win cup( Ngozi tweeted saying that Jack enters Samwell after the Aces win the cup, If Jack graduates in 2015, then he entered SMH in Fall 2011, therefore the Aces winning in Spring 2011)
Fall 2011:Jack enters samwell (21) Along with shitty (18, turning 19 in dec) (grad class 2015)
Spring 2012: SMH is in the ECAC and are knocked out at some point after the first round. Jack is named captain for the 2012-13 season
Fall 2012: Ransom (19) , Holster (21), and Lardo (18) all enter samwell (grad class 2016)
Fall 2012-Spring 2013: Now this is all kind of fuzzy. Sometime between the Aces winning the cup(Spring 2011) and before Bitty enters Samwell (Fall 2013), Kent Parson comes to the haus to visit Jack. However we can assume it happened at some point during Jacks sophomore year (Fall 2012- Spring 2013) because in a blog post (or was it one of Bitty’s tweets? I can’t remember. Anyways) Holster says that “He [Kent] remembered my major” so clearly it was sometime after Holster, Rans, and Lardo all enter samwell, and were there to meet KP. Unless KP visited during Jack’s freshman year and Holster was just there for some reason??? Seems unlikely and unnecessarily complicated. So let’s just say that KP came during Jacks soph year)
Fall 2013: Bitty (our beautiful ray of sunshine) enters Samwell (18) along with minor characters, Ollie and Wicks (grad class 2017)
Spring 2014: Samwell knocked out of ECAC championship. Johnson graduates and Bitty gets his dibs
Fall 2014: Nursey (18), Dex (17??18???once again, unconfirmed), and Chowder (17??18??) (aka the frogs) all enter Samwell (grad class 2018). Jack (now 24) is looking to be drafted. Kent (also 24) shows up at Epikegster (December 2014). Bitty (now 19) has crush on Jack. (I really don’t know why I included their ages in this part I just sometimes forget how old Jack actually is)
Spring 2015: Shitty is accepted to Harvard Fucking Law. SMH makes it to final four championship, but loses. Jack signs with the Falconers. Ransom and Holster are made Co-Captains for the 2015-16 season. Jack (24) and Shitty( 22) graduate. Lardo and Chowder get their dibs. Jack and Bitty kiss after graduation.
Summer 2015: Jack spends 4th of July with Bitty in Georgia. Later that summer they start dating.
Fall 2015: Whiskey and Tango (tadpoles) enter Samwell along With Ford (grad class 2019) Jack and Bitty tell the team about their relationship (December)
Spring 2016 (as of April 1st, 2018, the comic is currently taking place in Spring 2016): Jack is given an A on the Falcs (assistant/alternate captain). Ford is appointed as manager for the 2016-17 season. SMH is knocked out of ECAC tournament in the first round. Bitty is made captain for the 2016-17 season. Lardo(22), Ransom(23),and Holster (24??25?? depends on his birthday.) all graduate. Nursey, Dex, Ollie, and Wicks all get dibs. Bitty turns 21. The Falcs win the cup. Jack and Bitty kiss and come out to the world.
Currently Jack and Kent are both 26, Holster is 24??25?? (Like I said I don’t know when his exact birthday is. If his birthday is after the events of the year 3 finale, then he would still technically be 24) Shitty is 24, Ransom is 23 and Lardo is  22, Bitty is 21, Nursey is 20, and Chowder and Dex could both either be 19 or 20 (like I said i still don’t know whether they are 95′ babies or 96′ babies, since I only have birthdates and not canon birth years. ALSO!! It should be noted that since there are no canon birth years for Chow or Dex (at least that I know of), there is no way to be certain of their ages. I mean, theoretically, Chowder could be older than Bitty, and just entered college late. Same with Dex. But just to make thing easier on myself, I’m going to assume that all of the frogs are around the same age.)
The comic is currently taking place in 2016, two years behind real time. IF it was present day (April 1st, 2018) in the comic then
Jack: 27
Kent: 27
Bitty: 22
Ransom: 23
Holster:24/25 (depending on his bday)
Shitty: 23
Lardo: 23/24 (depending on her bday)
Nursey: 22
Dex: 21/22
Chowder: 21/22
Now Bitty’s tweets….
At first I was really really really really confused about how Bitty’s tweets work in the timeline. But Its actually really simple??. Bitty’s tweets start in June 2014, basically right after the end of Bitty’s freshman year. They pretty much all follow the correct timeline (the most recent tweets are from May 2016, about Rans, Holster, and Lardos graduation). Basically if you see a tweet, the date stamp on it correlates directly to the comic. I’m not sure if Ngozi just had the entire comic figured out two years ago, and tweeted everything back in 2016 (which seems far fetched) OR if Ngozi just changed the date on her computer back to 2016 and then sent out the tweets (which seems much more likely. Still, this is all speculation ). It doesn’t really matter though because regardless, the tweets line up with the timeline. I HIGHLY recommend reading all of Bitty’s tweets before Ngozi locks the account again for year 4. They add so much more to the story and are basically just extra details that make the comic even more immersive.
And I’m pretty sure that’s it?? Until of course year 4…. but yeah once again don’t take my word as law. Also, like I said already, if I got something wrong, please just let me know. Also if I said something confusing, just ask. :)

Note
I’m thinking about writing fan fiction and you’re probably one of my favorite accounts on here and I was wondering if you could give me any advice/tips
😲 Thank you so much, love! Seriously, it never gets old.
Also….. if you read my blog, you KNOW how much I love to give advice. I literally jumped out of bed (6AM) and ran to my laptop when I saw this Ask - LOL
I wish I were joking.
But yes, I would love to share all of the tips/knowledge that I have discovered in the past few months. I’d like to preface this by saying: I by no means am or think I am an expert! The fanfic here on my blog is the first bit of writing I’ve done in nearly ten years. Here’s what I know so far:
(Inserting a read-more cause this one really got away from me)
1. Let’s start with logistics. I highly recommend using Google Docs to write, and here’s why: You can easily access your stuff on mobile OR laptop. Changes are saved automatically. It’s very easy to share (with a link). The “track changes” is a super nice feature if you want to have someone read over/do edits for you – it will highlight their proposed change and you can either accept/reject it. Mostly it’s the convenience of having your stuff accessible anywhere, anytime at the drop of a hat.
2. Decide what you want to start with. A full chapter story, or blurbs/one-shots? Try writing in a couple different perspectives to see which one comes most naturally for you.
3. Just WRITE. Have you seen those interviews where Ed is asked about songwriting, and he compares it to turning on a rusty faucet? I think the idea is “the more you write, the better you’ll be.” Just because you put the words down on a page doesn’t mean you have to keep them. I’ll admit, I’ve chucked away a good portion of stuff that I didn’t love. It’s like I knew I wouldn’t like it as I was writing it - BUT, I just couldn’t move past it until it was out.
4. Inspiration for writing. This one is easy as hell, because you’re already on Tumblr. BUT, I sometimes find that watching videos of interviews/listening to certain songs, etc can really help put me in the writing mood. Sexy as hell gifs/pics of Ed don’t hurt the cause, either.
5. THE BUDDY SYSTEM! This tip is my favorite. I was so lucky to have @becuzpurple to help me out when I was getting started. She gave me feedback and bounced ideas around with me and gave me lots of encouragement to keep going. I probably wouldn’t have ever actually posted something if it weren’t for her! And now I have a WHOLE GROUP! of lovely ladies to bounce ideas off of. So, I think this tip is super important.
I’m happy to volunteer if you need a buddy! I get that Smut is probably not something you want to take to your Mom or BFF for feedback on. Honestly, all of the writers here are super nice, so take your pick.
*Some of the smuttiest smuts are born from chatting with your person.
6. If you’re more comfortable doing it this way, create a second account for your writing. You can use an alias/initial/etc as your moniker if you’d prefer to stay anonymous. Or just use the blog you have now – I don’t think you have anything to worry about. We seem to all be on the same page in this fandom (aka, the more Fic, the better!)
7. Ahh. I want to touch on this one because it was a concern I had in the beginning: the competition. I was so nervous about what the other fic writers would think of me, or nervous that I wouldn’t be able to write as well as they do. Or that there would be too many of us trying to write the same thing. I think I speak for us all when I say that we all have such different styles, that it’s a non-issue! And we’re even starting to do collab pieces because it’s fun to mix our styles together.
8. I’m going to go out on a limb and say you might be a classic over-thinker. Most of us are. Most writers are hyper-critical of their own work. Take a leap of faith and put your stuff out there.
9. Don’t be afraid to be…. too dirty. I’ve gotten a lot of Asks in the past about people feeling ashamed to be writing or reading smut. I hope that no one reading this feels that way! Sex is normal & healthy and writing/reading about it is normal & healthy, too! It can feel a little taboo at first, sure, but trust me – that goes away FAST. Now I just have to be careful when I’m texting or posting to FB because my phone autocorrects things like “clip” to “clit”. SMH. #smutlife
10. I’m going to leave #10 open - any fellow fic writers have tips you’d like to add on?
I hope this was even the tiniest bit helpful for you, Anon! And again, my door is always open - I’d love to chat with you (or anyone reading this). I’m a HUGE advocate for converting more Ed fic writers.

Tumblr media
hi! You see... i just add the search bar tool to the theme, the coding strictly belongs to tumblr and sometimes it sucks a lot! depending on its mood it will help you out haha. But i can’t do anything about it, i’m still trying to figure out how it searches stuff... smh! Anyway, when you can’t find things through the search bar, (specially if it’s an old post!) i suggest checking the date of the post and heading to the wcif tab and go around the same days of posting. The post you’re talking about was shared 7 7 months ago, so i just did that and found a reply for that here. Thank god i checked the link of the poses, because the user deleted their tumblr but i found a working link so i edited the reply as well.
kissie morning XDD. It’s the first time i show them, that’s why i did the life portraits.. to fill those frames. It’s a mesh edit from the frames that came with dine out. It’s all one object. I remeshed the interior to add detail and leaned all the frames to make it something different and realistic you know. But nothing is holding them.. i really didn’t want to increase the geometry, but they look really good either way. I can fix up the textures for sharing and release them as a blank state for ppl to recolor, would anyone want something like that?

Things and stuff... and things... and stuff... and things... .__. (some more thoughts and frustrations, talk about troubles and general feels)
Hmm.. I’ve put off writing again and forgotten things again... things lately have been... kind of bleh... melancholy and non-progressive. I’ve got the negative thinking hat on right now, I know. I wanna take it off though, it’s snug to the point my head hurts but it doesn’t seem to wanna budge yet so imma just roll with it a little while longer. Forgive me for my excessive and probably incorrect use of ellipses, it’s just really hard to find the words, I just smh to myself all the time whenever I try writing really.
Maybe I should make a twitter or something so I can briefly write my thoughts when I actually have them, I’ve thought about this quite a few times in the past. It seems kind of an effort though... my phone is busted and whipping out my pc whenever or writing on paper is kinda out of the question cause I’m much too cowardly and paranoid. I’ll save the thought for another time though (another time probably meaning never orz).
Everyday just feels... heavy and bleak. Like there’s rainclouds permanently hanging over my head even when it’s a sunny day and everyone outside is chirpy and happy. I’m so foggy and sickly feeling from the moment I wake to the moment I sleep. Everything’s so overwhelming, the thoughts, the senses, all in overdrive and concentration on anything is impossible. I can’t help but feel like don’t know what to do or what I’m even doing has a point and I’m spiralling into the sea of darkness again. I’m lost, so terribly lost, but I can see a small light in the distance. Although it’s far, if I keep going maybe I can still find my way back out. I won’t ever give up hope, even if I feel like there isn’t any at all a lot of the time. I just need to keep going..!
Hmm, okay, I've been tidying my room and pc some more lately. Came across my dyslexia reports (mentioned in one of my previous posts) which I’d been wanting to take another look at since it’s been years, so I did. I read through them both and the first thing I would have to say is that I’m an idiot. Not in the sense of anything related to the disorder or report itself or anything offensive, but in the fact that I disregarded and was negligent towards the diagnoses and advice. I don’t know why I’m so skeptical or maybe still in denial towards this, I think I’m still rather uniformed myself even though I have researched it quite a lot but keep forgetting or misinterpreting details. I feel unsure because like I said at other times, things relating to mental function overlap/can have multiple possible causes. It’s that ‘I don’t want to put all my eggs in one basket’ kind of feeling, if that makes sense. I don’t want things in general to become self fulfilling prophecies, because once my mind goes running, it really doesn’t want to come back.
Maybe because I’ve had these struggles all my life I just saw it as normal, as just how I am or something and so to casually dismiss it. Or maybe... it just feels like because maybe no one else around me took it seriously, that I then followed them and didn’t take it seriously either or was too scared to. Being told you’re lazy and slow and things like that all the time and finding out you have legitimate explanation or cause for these troubles, it should be a good sort of thing to know, act on and inform people of. But... instead I have the feeling that it sounds like just an excuse to everyone else, it’s just so easily misinterpreted and kind of difficult to comprehend, explain or believe I guess, idk... :<
The first report from college said I had mild dyslexia and the second more detailed report from uni said I had Dyslexia, ADD (is it called Inattentive ADHD nowadays?) and Irlen syndrome (will maybe write about another time). The Dyslexia mentioned in both was mostly relating to my processing and memory being meh I think. Even though I read them the other day I can’t remember the contents properly, lovely .__. ADD is actually a lot more than I thought it was... I googled it again recently and a lot of the symptoms are similar or overlap with those of AVPD and other things. I want to find an article to link it (though it’s not really necessary) or re-read the report again but even now my head hurts so bad and I just wanna go flop on the bed. I’m really struggling, the mental effort is so strenuous with everything little I do. Even the simplest things wear me out so much that I’m just getting so frustrated and exhausted over and over again.
Some advice was to go to the doctor for medication to help with the ADD (which I obviously didn’t do). I’m wondering if I should try now, even though it’s been pretty long since the report was written, even though my parents will probably just shun the idea, even though I’m scared of side effects... If it helps, if it makes a difference, it could even be a life changer maybe, or even if it doesn’t help, I’ll never know unless I try... it’s tough... I need to research it some more.
I really badly want to get this post done because thinking about it for so many days (like every other post) has left me with so much anguish, but it’s so hard to formulate the words to express what I really want to say. I feel like I’ve set too much of a structure with my other posts and the general flow of the blog. Also like I’ve set up a certain standard for myself that I feel pressured to try and match every time. I’m just such a ridiculously troublesome and self sabotaging person ughhhh! No no, stop being so negative...! ><
I think I will keep it brief this time and re-visit and elaborate when I can think more clearly next time. Don’t be so hard on yourself, silly... Maybe I should just bullet point my thoughts and stuff so I’ll stop worrying about the structure and grammar and whatever, but I guess it might make less sense then... but when have my posts ever made sense lol... One of the things in one of my dyslexia reports said my writing sample was good but I played it safe with the topic and vocabulary and my paragraphing sucked hahaha. But with more practice, there is improvement. I mean my paragraphing is probably still pretty weird, and my punctuation, I do remember having trouble with it when I was little, but I think I have improved in the general writing department, I’m kind of proud-ish, yay!
Moving on from that subject, I’ve been feeling pretty sad and worried about my family... or well my parents in particular. It’s like... I know I have a very poor quality of life because of health and lack of social stuff, but so do my parents and they never speak about this (no surprise here), but I know about it and I really want to help but when I do they just brush it off or get annoyed... :/ They sacrifice so much of their health for work, and they work so I can live and leech off them pretty much :<
Ugh I’m too brain foggy and distracted... I need a break... :c ...Hmm okay, distracted myself for a bit, nao back to writing something... or not....
*A few days later* welp, uhh... still very groggy and very neck muscle/jaw tension wow. Per usual I forgot what I wanted to say even more lol. I don’t like writing negative/personal stuff about my parents, feels bad man x 10000 .__. I don’t like writing any of this stuff at all, but I can’t give up! Or well, I won’t give up! c: I went back and edited/added to the stuff I wrote, good! Now to continue!
Hmm... in relation my parents having not much concern over their well-being(?) uhh, let’s take the other day for example. I was just saying to my dad that he shouldn’t use expired stuff or things for purposes they’re not designed for or overwork and he got annoyed instantly as usual. I was saying it because I care for him and am worried about his health but I was finding it really hard to express this because of the language barrier. I still tried my best though and after quite a while remembered a certain phrase which is something like wishing or wanting someone to be healthy/have a healthy body. I remembered it because I just heard it a lot the past year and recently (probably a few months ago now) my dad’s bro phoned and said it to me and my dad. He actually wasn’t annoyed anymore after that, maybe because he caught on to what my intentions were or maybe just because he saw me looking upset idk (I got a bit teary but tried to keep looking down and stuff).
Something I also remember and have been wanting to mention, is that my uncle also said to me that same time while my dad was there (he was holding the phone on loudspeaker), that if there is anything troubling me, I shouldn’t hold it all in (my heart) because it’s no good for my health and should speak about it with my parents and stuff (...um maybe this would be possible in an alternate world, but it seems unlikely to work or happen here .__.). My dad’s bro is such a wonderful person and I’m really so thankful and glad my dad has been able to keep in contact with him lately, and to actually see him happy and stuff. I just wish I could’ve talked to him better myself but I froze up cause language barrier and avpd life ugh. That reminds me of another thing, I have relatives but they are all like strangers to me and there’s the language barrier again and it’s just hella awkward... it sucks :c
I need to stop being such a weenie about everything. No, I say stop too much. I should cease and desist from being such a weenie. Hm... I need to cease and desist from putting myself down and beating my self up, unless it’s beating myself up with only positivity, if that is even possible. Haha that’s a thought... replacing the negative stuff with positive but keeping it in the same attacking tone of voice, it’s pretty amusing. Reminds me of those rap battles I saw on the internets which have complimenting instead of dissing lmao. The more sensical phrase would be to lift yourself up with positivity. Imma make sure to do this instead, lift myself up off my sad butt and get moving. Do you even lift bruh?Lololol :3
I’ve been kinda avoiding going out a bit more lately, I’m so self-conscious and it’s just been getting worse and worser, especially since I’m exposing myself to all these seemingly perfect people on places like Instagram. I can’t help but compare and feel inferior and just ugh. All these people I see are not afraid to like what they like or do and say what they want without feeling ashamed. I aspire to be like them, truly. Seeing that they like things I also like (that I feel stupidly ashamed of and just hide), think and say things similar or exactly on the point of what I would like to (but can never muster the courage to) and are still appreciated and liked is kind of eye opening and reassuring. It gives me hope that if I just really be myself someday, then it’ll actually be okay.
There’s a lot of stuff I wanted to write but kinda just slipped my mind as I focused on other bits, but this post is pretty darn long enough already anyways and my eyes and head are hurting. I guess it’s a good time to end the post and catch some Z’s. I’ll give myself a pat on my (sore aching granneh) back for managing to write even though I felt like I really couldn’t (and wanted to avoid doing so more) and to write out some things I thought I wouldn’t. I did it and I want to continue to get better at expressing and understanding myself! Go go silly me! ^^
Good night~!

TBB Weblog Mission: To Educate. Entertain. Encourage. In That Order!
Help TBB by making use of for CREDIT CARDS, purchasing with our AMAZON AFFILIATE LINK & clicking our REFERRAL LINKS
You want my weblog? Ship a hyperlink to somebody please!
Buckle up, that is going to be an extended one! I could possibly be doing different issues with my time you guys…why do I preserve doing this? Possibly as a result of I prefer it? Or possibly as a result of I’m an fool. After I retire from this gig, I’m going to be like Mile Nerd and put up as soon as a month, not like Ingy or Rene (see BLOG BUZZ part)
In case you missed this week’s visitor weblog put up, right here it’s once more: Is Alaska Airlines Mileage Plus Program the Best? Sweet Spots, Award Space, Stopovers!
Nice reddit reference: Travel Rewards Programs Partnerships/Linking.
Isn’t it peculiar how journey bloggers who promote bank cards discover each purpose to inform their readers how modifications that occur usually are not so unhealthy…when they are surely! Lastly, we get some information correctly analyzed by somebody who doesn’t promote bank cards and, due to this fact, can weblog freely for YOUR profit: The New Citi 48 Month Rule Now Covers All Citi AAdvantage Cards INCLUDING Business Cards and No, It Isn’t Good!!
The brand new Citi coverage that modifications the AA playing cards bonus availability from 24 months to 48 months makes issues for many mile-and-points fanatics worse, not higher like some of us appear to imagine. Once more, most doesn’t imply everybody, and there are people who find themselves going to learn, which is completely fantastic. In case you are likely to examine baggage and infrequently fly American, your free bag profit alone can pay your annual charge many occasions over. No purpose to shut down the cardboard after the primary yr. That is clearly a churn-combating measure, and simply to make clear: I’m not faulting Citi for preventing churners, simply making an attempt to set the file straight. I feel the brand new coverage will unfold to ThankYou playing cards too.
I discovered it extremely pleasing to see Marriott within the information this week, having to face a monster fine for not protecting our data after which getting sued for pricing practices and scummy resort fees. Lets simply say I’m not getting an invite to any occasion from them anytime quickly lol.
Good reference put up on all of the best stopover deals worldwide. I might ask a lame blogger questions like “what’s your favourite?”. However I’m simply going to return out and say what I actually really feel you guys…that my favourite is something from a bank card you bought with my links
If you’re because of renew your International Entry membership, Journey With Grant has a very detailed post about it.
It seems that Shawn, of Miles to Reminiscences, has a brand new enterprise out: Disney Hacks. If in case you have been studying my weblog for some time, you’ll know that I’m NOT a Disney fan! Hey, we’re all completely different!
With none warning in any way, ANA launched nice trying First and Enterprise class seats: East Meets West: ANA Launches New Luxury Cabins in Collaboration with Famed Japanese Architect and British Designers.
Artistic 3D panorama maps of National Parks. Attention-grabbing hyperlink.
Since we’re into maps, here’s a massive map showing all of the world’s borders by age. I discovered the video hyperlink fascinating too!
There’s a lot BS on-line. And many it’s generated by, you realize, intelligence companies trying to hurt us. Sadly, a number of morons click on on this clickbait crap. Right here is who’s behind the Seth Wealthy “story”: The true origins of the Seth Rich conspiracy theory.
MUST CLICK hyperlink if you’re into private finance. Simply Click on it, you gained’t be shocked. However you’ll be educated immensely! “This I Believe, Money Edition“.
A group of 41 amazing aerial photography shots. With drones!
Very miserable in the event you stay in one of many states close to the highest in these lists, unhappy! The States with the Worst Eating and Exercise Habits in America.
We at the moment are coming into BLOG BUZZ, a bit for superior hobbyists and veterans of this quick imploding interest and in addition a bit the place I am going on and on about some stuff that occurs in my life as a result of it helps me really feel higher about myself.
All PR is nice PR. That was evident when the brand new proprietor of RenesPoints got here right here to inform me that. So, within the subsequent replace of the TBB Blogs To Ignore, I wish to make an announcement that the weblog Pointchaser will likely be added. Why chances are you’ll ask. And it’s a legitimate query. I might have simply saved quiet and simply shake my head in oblivion each time a one more MS play by play account was posted there. However nope. So, what was it TBB? It was the choice of Rick/Ingy/founding father of Frugal Journey Man, a loyal reader of my weblog, to return out of retirement (you knew that was coming) and unleash his “craft” in writing at Pointchaser ( who, in the event you missed it, is a giant fan of Rick). So, we’ve some weblog posts which are the identical previous crap concentrating on newbies and being “useful” to them and getting them to click on on the affiliate hyperlinks in every weblog put up (which in fact it’s disclosed someplace on the positioning nobody will search for and even suspect). And that is of us how running a blog is completed. Running a blog as in “conversions is all that issues”. Welcome again Rick. What iz da matter, working low on cash huh? In case you solely had not bought so early, unhappy!
Beechy had no clue they have been affiliate hyperlinks. Rick, smelling $$$, goes in for the kill/conversion within the feedback!
Apparently, that is the way it works on-line. Serving to readers by solely posting straightforward recycled “content material’ stuffed with affiliate hyperlinks the readers by no means suspect that the author has an ulterior motive and would possible by no means be running a blog within the first place if it was not for, cough, conversions. In case you see a DIRECT hyperlink right here that makes me cash, I’d add REFERRAL or AFFILIATE hyperlink subsequent to it simply so, you realize, you realize! Oblique hyperlinks don’t rely…which makes me really feel higher about myself. Will I ever recover from this hangup? Nicely, after virtually 7 years running a blog away…I’d not guess on it, unhappy!
Talking of mailing it in to make some cash from the Uber hyperlink, right here goes the founding father of RenesPoints once more, smh:
It’s 90*+ Outdoors – Would you Order Ice Cream by way of Uber Eats from Chilly Stone Creamery?
Hey, I get it. Truly, I don’t. In case you ever see me posting clickbait crap like this don’t make me ever neglect it okay?
Andy once more with all the American AAdvantage Sweet Spots That Are Still With Us. Seemingly not for lengthy…Fast, earlier than they go the dynamic route too any day now!
Talking of going dynamic, one more airline went that manner too. I’ve been warning you it is a secular pattern for some time! El Al Goes Dynamic, Removes The Ability To Search For Standard Award Tickets; Here’s What It Means For Matmid And Qantas Members.
Good that we are able to now book JAL awards online at the American Airlines website.
Causes #889 and #890 to inform Amex to go screw themselves (oops, there goes one other invite, unhappy!): The RAT team is at it again, I swear these guys most likely get bonuses by what number of factors they claw again! After which, please sit down, they killed all of the Precedence Move restaurant entry from their cardholders…I imply, that’s simply one other unhappy blow! Did I say I can’t wait to cancel my Platinum Enterprise card. Oh sure, I did.
I signed up for the Detroit Marathon in October. I’m assembly with a working coach tomorrow, time to take this significantly so I can end. If I might solely get again to my earlier kind earlier than I left for Greece…The warmth doesn’t assist in any respect for that!
The notorious Ann Arbor Artwork Honest DO is subsequent weekend once more. Good to see so many regulars once more. I could have one other announcement about that quickly.
Ben at One Mile at a Time for just a few days was outposting all the complete time writers at The Factors Man, wow! Does he sleep? Is he a robotic? Can I’ve a few of his conversions too? Superb work ethic!
And I go away you with this…Ought to have posted this on July 4th lol
Observe TBB on Twitter @FlyerTalkerinA2.

I decided to write this post after having a few friends ask me about how to rank their website. They wanted to rank for terms that I thought were fairly easy to rank for. Their sites were preventing them from ranking for the terms, so there was no need for some backlinks (yet). I took the experiment (turned it into a case study of sorts) and decided to walk through exactly what I did. I could definitely say that the results have been fantastic overall!
They had one main site that we focused on. It was in the “Selling To Real Estate Agents” space. That meant theirs was a niche, specific to them. They could contact real estate agents directly to drive traffic but they wanted the evergreen kind of organic traffic. They also needed CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization) but I knew that would come with being successfully ranked. Simply put, they needed an overhaul to the max.
What was holding their sites back from ranking at all?
The first thing I looked at was their actual word count. This sucks for most site creators but the reality is that “large” sites rank easier in Google than smaller sites. The sheer volume of on-page SEO that you can perform on a 1,000-page site makes it easier to rank than a 10-page site.
They didn’t have this luxury. They had small service based sites focused on two things:
They needed specific target audiences
They were looking for shoppers, not readers
This looks like the perfect case for Facebook Ads and Google Adwords and while that’s true (they were already running ads), it’s nice to get constant and consistent traffic without buying it all the time. Cash is a limited resource for every business especially small website owners.
The biggest factor that’s holding back their site was the amount of in-depth information they were offering on each of the pages. The second factor was the number of pages. Period.
The information they were sharing, while specific and good, was limited. They weren’t delivering quality in terms of writing and that had shown in their content. The overall site was designed well but was lacking in sheer content. It also didn’t help that they had overly complicated menus. It seems to be conveying the message that they’re afraid people would miss something.
There also weren’t enough opt-in options and no reason to opt-in, anyways. The site was short on word count and didn’t have many backlinks (15 total) when we started. It barely was indexed and what I would call “still had the wrapper” on it.
Why I Didn’t Tell Them To Just Write Daily (Blog)
I realize that content marketing is popular. The fact that they couldn’t write well meant we were years away from having any kind of content that would naturally help them gain rankings through shares. They also had a limited budget today and that wouldn’t likely get better just because they were starting to write.
Writing and delivering content takes time. And that time could’ve also been used to manually push traffic to their site or offers. They were in business because they could close and had a good product. What was keeping them afloat were the ads they ran and their individual email product pitches to people. They just weren’t going to make the next big jump until they were seen as an authority in their space which meant that they needed an authority website.
Writing daily sounds like great advice and it may be if you’re starting a blog. If you’re trying to sell something (you already have product) then you need people, not articles.
People coming to a site and reacting means what they need is to sustain this kind of attention. They needed to have their website to convert some of the attention into something that will return a profit for them. That’s where I came in. I was there to help them scale by helping them build an organic ranking website.
What They Needed From Me Exactly to Rank
What they needed was a plan and that’s exactly what I did first. We then made a detailed attack plan that they should execute.
They needed a process and that’s when we found them a writer and showed them how to feed the right info to their writer so they can build content that converts and with call-outs that grab opt-ins.
They also needed email sequences to send to people who opted in. I don’t discuss this part much in this article but we wrote them a 20-part email series using our very own template. If you want the same thing, sign up and just save our emails and use them as templates.
We also built out their process more even after their rankings have improved. We took their writer to become a weekly contributor and had the writer add an email series and guest posts to their list of chores. We then set up their outreach campaign to run consistently.
They ended up having a perfect process for growing from where we started. They now consistently get links, in-depth posts, guest posts, and new emails to add to their email sequences—all on autopilot, in fact.
This article will walk you through what we did to achieve those results!
Enjoy!
Limited Budget Responses to Ranking Websites
Content is king. Well, guess what? Content is also not cheap.
That’s the perfect headline for anyone that tells you to do “content marketing” like it’s the easiest thing in the world.
We needed a solution that was cost-effective for ranking a smaller site. Here’s why:
A hundred articles at $40 a piece was just about the budget for the entire project which is $6,000 in total. But that still wouldn’t produce enough content to make their site larger than it should be and would have no meaningful impact. Since we couldn’t just push content around, we had to work with precision in mind.
We decided instead to have them invest their time. They would outline and research the main points and talking points around each keyword we were targeting (I showed them my videos for this). They needed a bit of training but they could invest five hours a few days in a row and detail out 4 or 5 posts in that time.
They actually took this one step further. They recorded themselves as they browsed over the top ranking websites for their search terms. They took notes of the main points to include and how to word them in a way that’s much more compelling!
They then paid someone to transcribe them into documents for the writer. This meant there were sometimes 2,000-word dissertations for the writer to break down and transform into meaningful content.
Looks like finding a writer just got more important and difficult… SMH
Hiring a Writer When You Suck at Writing
Let’s face it. Not everyone can just write a 2,000-word detailed post out of thin air. That’s the reality.
Google however only ranks detailed content that covers a subject in depth thoroughly.
So as I was saying, I had them outline in bullet points the major facts they found as well as write small blurbs about the content. They went one step further and created in-depth transcriptions as well. This actually made the process better but much more difficult.
We then went to Upwork and ran this ad (Click Below To Get The Exact Ad Template I Use To Find Writers).
This ad worked perfectly because you can find writers, that from experience (the most vital point in finding a writer), can talk to your audience and cover your topic in-depth.
Google Loves In-Depth Content But That Isn’t Enough
Following this process helped me get 5 posts every 10 days—two weeks ready for the next steps to my master plan. This took around $1,000 of the budget and 30 hours of their time.
Here’s the exact process to make sure you didn’t miss it from the above:
Copy the current content on-site and make a Google doc with research and add in points that need to be made. Transcribe points below the current content in the Google doc. This is the expert portion of the post. They’re the expert and we need their input. One important point here is to aim at making something better than what was ranking for that keyword already (Skyscraper technique style).
We hired a writer while they were making the edits to take the edits and write them. We made sure that the writer had personal experience on the topic and had also been published in some major publications. This served as a way for us to assess their previous writing.
The writer wrote their edits and shared the document for the revisions we requested. We then edited again and followed up in detail.
The writer wrote a “content” locker report (Top 20 Things To, Best Ways To) for each piece of content utilizing the information we provided. It was basically a smaller, condensed version of the post with steps to use it in a pdf.
We then made the on-site edits to the post and added the pictures. We also used stock images and made changes to the infographics to really cover the subject and to also make it visually appealing. This was done using Canva.
We made a video using video blocks subscription and Camtasia (I had both) and made custom videos for each page. Youtube copyright free music was used as well.
We used video SEO (bought as a gig from a seller) to SEO the videos for keywords. The gigs were less than 50 each because these were medium to easy keywords, especially on Youtube.
Now this is where we started working on conversion rate optimization, on-page SEO, and backlink building. We’ve spent around $1,400 dollars total at this point.
See, Google may love content and content may be king but the truth is that without SEO, Google wouldn’t be able to love your site. No matter what you publish, it will not just rank.
Content is expensive. You either spend hours writing or hours feeding your writer what to write and paying them in the process. Either way, it would cost a lot of time and money.
Link Insertions Because of Quality Content and Proof
So we dove right into working on their on-page SEO and started reaching out to blogs in their niche.
We gained close to 30 backlinks (using link insertion scripts) to each page on their site.
We did the outreach first and the on-page stuff came later. We figured we could get the links while we were fixing the site. Those kinds of links took more time and were more out of our control as opposed to doing internal linkings and titles. We did shorten URLs and came up with focus URLs on the keywords first. That way, the links were pointing to the correct places on the site.
We focused on niche sites that had a Domain Authority above 24. We randomly picked that number based on the site list we could gather.
Here is that process broken down for you:
We now had amazing articles to request links for. We ran Screaming Frog and Ahrefs reports to find anyone linking to a few key articles in their niches that we had seen during research and I had them document those.
We ran all sites and looked for niche sites. We compiled a pretty massive list of over 2,000 sites with a DA above 24 and a max DA of 55 to reach out to. We maxed the DA just to keep the large, hard-to-contact sites at bay. We wanted smaller niche sites that were focused and easier to contact. Typically these are “owner” sites and not corporate sites with editors. This list originally had more sites but then later got reduced when we chose the minimum DA of 24 to narrow down the search results.
We prepared a drip sequence in Ninja Outreach to contact site owners. We referenced our new piece of content and the “current” outdated piece they were linking to. We asked if they would share and link to the new piece of content, citing the quality, and time we took to help educate the world.
We inserted bonuses on their site for downloads (content lockers via Growtheme) to capture the audience that was going to the posts.
We then ran a Ninja Outreach campaign looking for blogs to guest post on in their niche. This was a one-day project but we saved it for use later. We did have the writer get started on making the points about what was on some of these sites and which may bring more audience through guest posts.
On-Page SEO is Important!
We ran through the on-page SEO data fairly quickly. We adjusted URLs to be shorter and keyword specific. We had internal linking built around the site and followed a basic silo structure. We also had references throughout the site point to specific pages. So anywhere the word real estate was used, we linked to the real estate category page.
That page was a major piece of content that was extremely detailed in discussing real estate marketing and the local area effects of advertising. It also had an extensive walkthrough on how to utilize the information in the content as well as case studies about people that had studied and followed the same advice. Overall, it was highly detailed and 10 times better than what currently ranked for the key term.
Most of the case studies were from other sites and we “borrowed” them and their points. That kept the budget down so that we didn’t have to make our own case studies. This is an important point to note. Limited budgets meant crafty growth hacks need to be applied too!
We set up AMP and made sure the site was running HTTPS properly. We then went through and sped the sites up to the max. We had page load times down as far as we could go using “themes” and not re-coding anything heavily.
Mobile responsiveness, security, and page speed are three major ranking factors in Google. That’s why we focused our effort around them after doing internal linking.
That was the extent of the on-page SEO that we did for them.
Rankings Skyrocketed But Only After We Did This
So now we had backlinks from niche sites with great anchor text diversity to every page of the website. Each page had killer content with visually appealing graphics. We also had calls-to-action strategically placed throughout the site. Opt-ins were coming in because of the shout outs and social shares that were happening because of the efforts we’ve done.
We then ran a small social campaign.
We used various hashtags on Twitter and reached out to groups on Facebook and Google+. We asked the people to share and link to the resources. I don’t know how much this helped overall, honestly, but we did do it. I think we probably picked up a few links and definitely a good enough amount of results from it.
We then went after LinkedIn Groups and used Sales Navigator to message niche owners and influencers. Do the same and ask for shares or links. They already had a list compiled from their years of selling through these channels.
During this time, we had the writer churning out more content. They were making around 40 articles total that compiled all of the information that was on our site but just not as in-depth. These were quality articles that I had a specific plan for. The cost was right at $1,500 dollars. We had two writers and wish we had found a third but we just never did.
We used Getcontent.club and our own list of blogs we could guest post on. We sent out titles to the list of blogs with each having around 5 headlines that we “hacked” from headline swipe files. We had over a hundred blogs who we contacted write back to us.
That process was grueling. Have you ever came up with 500 headlines? We learned a lot doing it so I don’t want to leave that part out. It was significant as we moved forward. Those headlines all became posts or part of their content calendar later on.
The Rankings Shot Through the Roof
I was truly amazed at what happened next. Realize that we had been active on this campaign for a few months at this point. We had seen slight increases in rankings. Links to each page had put every page site-wide ranking in the top 20 for most of the key terms we were monitoring. Many of the pages were on the front page.
Front page sounds great and looks good but doesn’t get near the clicks that the first 3 spots on a search bring. Top 3 is the only place worth having in any search term. Especially when it comes to your targeted keywords.
When we published the guest post on Content Club, the rankings shot up. The DA 74 and DA 54 posts gave the site that huge boost of authority it needed.
We ended up publishing around 35 guest post on other sites. All in all, the effect was amazing.
Those guest posts were supported with a 2nd tier link push to each. We also had web 2.0’s sent to every page and a 2nd tier link push to each of those web 2.0 clusters as well. This was before the ranking increase because of a slow service provider. Tiered linking helped on the whole but it was after we had ranked the bulk of the content.
The Results From This Process
Each page had 40 links from relevant niche blogs:
Each page had at least 5 high authority links pointing to it
2 Pages had DA 74 links from Content Club
2 Pages had DA 54 links from Content Club
2 Pages had DA 45 links from Content Club
On-page SEO with super in-depth content
Strategically advanced opt-in placements that converted like clock work
Content lockers that converted like clock work
Each page had videos that ranked in Youtube for keywords
Each page had infographics (we later submitted to infographic sharing sites for more links)
Highly detailed, 10X more in-depth information about each keyword and search query
Results:
Over 1k unique visitors weekly
100 opt-ins monthly
Residual sales on auto pilot
Each page ranks for 5+ keywords in 1st position
Each page ranks for 10+ keywords for top 10 positions
Each page continually ranks for more and more content
Social shares surpassed over 10k in total
Facebook ads conversion increased 2X because of onsite CRO
Videos rank in top 10 for search terms on Google results
Success in every aspect
The sites went from no traffic organically to getting multiple requests weekly for people asking to feature their sites in case studies etc. They get guest post requests to this day still because of the emails we sent. The content continually grows in authority and rankings.
Their website is now an authority in their space. They have a perfect process for continually adding more keywords to their ranking. They also have a growing email list. They gain a few links every week because of the process. They continually reach out for link insertions to every piece of content they have. The content is that good and still gets them links.
Go back to the beginning of this post. They needed a process and they got just that. Their conversion rates are great. Their SEO is thriving. On average, it was one of the most well-executed campaigns we have run.
The Pre-Work Laid the Ground Work—Don’t Skip It
This was a strategic and researched campaign. It wouldn’t have worked if we wouldn’t have done thorough keyword research. We couldn’t have done any of that had the site owners not already chosen a niche and knew what product they wanted to sell.
Here is the process if you are just starting for the pre work I’m talking about:
Choose the niche
Choose the products you’re selling
Choose the keywords
List the top 3 resources ranking in top spots for those terms
Choose your domain name and have WordPress installed
Install Growtheme (click the paper airplane icon at the bottom of this site to check it OUT)
Make your welcome gate and initial site setup
Then start with the process I ran and documented in this article
Think long term process. If you build great content and do consistent, quality outreach then you can rank your website. We ended up spending around $5,000 dollars total on the project without my fees included.

Why “Planned Parenthood” is a bad thing
-and that you should feel bad for even thinking of supporting it.
I hope everyone has ample hearing+reading comprehension, because boy howdy do I have some info here:
A video disproving the “3%” notion that they keep trying to peddle
And here’s an article
And another dispelling the “3%”
Here’s why “but women NEED PP! It’s the only place for care!” doesn’t work
There are way more alternatives
I mean PP doesn’t even have mammograms
“But if we close them down, women will get back alley abortions!” won’t work either
Another supporting the previous
and another for good measure
___
“But the videos are heavily edited!” you say?
No, they’re not
The company that PP hired even admits there were no “malicious edits”
Here’s a non-biased report on it as well
___
“It’s only tissue!”
They’re parts from an actual baby. What do you think “tissue” is?
_
PP has been audited in 9 states, with all nine showing fraud.
Don’t believe it? Here you go
_
Here are the videos, by the way. Warning for gore and disturbing subjects/material
_
And a few more links, because it can’t be stressed enough
That PP
doesn’t “stand for women”
and never will
They’re also incredibly petty
so there you have it
They think you have the right to give others HIV btw
Masterpost just because
Oh and science proves that a fetus is a whole other human life fyi
PP is pretty much PETA, but for humans. Both are full of lies, slaughters innocents, and will do anything for money. Anything.
Please read through everything before commenting.
As a bonus, here are some rebuttals of already-made arguments;
“The woman should still be able to choose! It’s not your body!” - You’re telling me that even though science has proven that life begins at conception, you think murder is okay as long as the woman thinks so. She should’ve chosen not to have sex, in that case. That’s what sex does. Make life. Doesn’t matter what reason a person tries to stick to it; you can’t change nature. Your body doesn’t care about your reason. It’s also not your body that’s being killed. Science has also proven that.
“But rape!” - Is it the baby’s fault? No. (1)If you don’t want it, put it up for adoption. There are a lot of places that can and will help if you reach out to them. (2)In most cases, it helps the victim to heal by keeping the child. (3)Rape cases make up an incredibly low %. (4)There are good people that were born from such horrible, sickening cases. As horrendous as it was, there is still a chance that something good can come of it. Again, it’s a whole other life. It didn’t ask for such things to happen either. I am fully for getting all victims as much care as they can get, though, and having the rapist get sent through hell + making them work for the rest of their lives.
“But the woman could die!” - Do you know how low that number is? If there truly is no possible way to save both, then a decision can be made. Sometimes, nature can be very cruel. That’s a sad part of life. I can admit that much.
“PP helped me/someone I know with some other thing!” - Good for you/them. Still doesn’t change what PP has done, though. It’s like saying “Hey, that serial killer saved my life!” Doesn’t make him/her a saint, and doesn’t deter from the fact that she/he killed people. And just because one location did something, doesn’t mean that suddenly the whole organization is cleansed of its wrongdoings.
“No uterus, no opinion!” - …excuse you, rude one, but I am a woman, and thus, have a uterus.(Shocking, I know) Plus, if that were true, then abortion would be illegal. Since, you know, it was men who made it legal. Men who tricked Norma McCorvey into thinking that abortion was a good thing. I believe there’s a post floating around documenting just what went down in that case. (Hint; she’s now very pro-life and regrets what happened) Also; you should discuss it thoroughly with your S.O. if you want a baby or not. If one of you want a kid, but the other doesn’t (or vice versa), then maybe you should look for someone else. Communicate.
“A baby will ruin a woman’s life!” - Again, rude. I, as a woman, thoroughly dislike being made out to be some weak, pathetic being that constantly needs “help”/to be coddled. (1) Around 97% of abortions are out of convenience. Meaning that 97% could’ve decided against having sex/”invoking the ancient ritual of reproduction”. (2)If you’re so sure that a baby would ruin your life, then you need to choose not to have one in the first place. Sex creates life. You really can’t do anything about it. As I said; nature does not CARE for your reasons to get freaky. It just sees you doing the do and go “You want BABY!!! OKAY! I’LL GET RIGHT ON IT!! MAEK THE BABBEY!!!” (3) It won’t ruin your life unless you let it. Positive thinking goes a long way, as corny as that may sound. (4) Look around you. How many mothers have you met that say they regret ever having kids? How many have said that their lives have been ruined?
“It’s just a bundle of cells!” - Science has proven that it is, in fact, a whole other life. Age and location does not a worthwhile life make. Or lack thereof, for that matter. You skin is not a separate entity from yourself. A fetus is still human, and will always be a human as it grows.
“It’s a parasite!” - What did I just say? It’s cells make up an actual human. It needs help to live even after it’s born, and so do some people with certain diseases. You want to say that all newborns, coma patients, and others are parasites?
“There are too many people already!” - There aren’t, actually. Earth can hold even more. If you’re that worried, however, you can just not have sex. Not needed to live, after all. You understand that your body can and will try to create life once you’ve taken part in intercourse, right? And way to think little of the human race. 2edgy4me.
“Consent to sex is not consent to-!” Let me stop you right there. Do you know what sex is naturally for? Do you know how the human body works? You are literally arguing against nature itself. It’s like eating raw chicken and complaining when you get salmonella or something smh.
“The baby won’t live a worthwhile life! It’ll be painful!” - You do not, and will never, be able to decide whose life is worth living or not. Any time you try that excuse, you just basically insulted anyone and everyone who’s gone through strife. You just told people who have lived through horrible times, that it would’ve been better if they had been aborted. That their life isn’t worth living. That is not for you or the “mother” to decide.
“But disease! Some parents can’t afford/handle that!” - And now you’re telling me that disabled people aren’t worth it. It is costly, and it is mentally taxing, yes, but it is never worth it to kill them because of it. A lot of disabled people enjoy the act of living, fyi. +A lot of times (and I mean a LOT), the doctor(s) is/are wrong about whether the child will have/develop problems. (2)If your family has a history of bad health, it might be better to lay off having sex (and just adopt if you want a kid). There are also programs out there that can and will help, should you look.
___
Many thanks to those who made this post possible. You’re all remarkable people.
Feel free to add on and whatnot. Resources, science facts, links, etc.
(And anyone who tries that “car wreck” comparison will be side-eyed into oblivion.)
__________
Reposting because this still needs to be spread. Also did a bit of editing.
Remember to read everything before commenting. E V E R Y T H I N G. This cannot be stressed enough. I have addressed several commonly used arguments already, and will not be repeating myself. If you can’t read, or try to make assumptions, you will be blocked. You can also search my blog for other posts/refs/sources/etc. There should be more well-thought-out posts hanging around that can better explain and source the arguments that I have typed out above.
