Love your tumblr! One question: do you think that stannis would really have burned edric storm if Davos hadn't smuggled him to lys?
Unfortunately, yes. Stannis makes this very clear, along with his reasoning for doing so, to Davos in "Davos V" ASOS (emphasis added):
“Edric—” he started. “—is one boy! He may be the best boy who ever drew breath and it would not matter. My duty is to the realm.” His hand swept across the Painted Table. “How many boys dwell in Westeros? How many girls? How many men, how many women? The darkness will devour them all, she says. The night that never ends. She talks of prophecies … [sic] a hero reborn in the sea, living dragons hatched from dead stone … [sic] she speaks of signs and swears they point to me. I never asked for this, no more than I asked to be king. Yet dare I disregard her?” He ground his teeth. “We do not choose our destinies. Yet we must …[sic] we must do our duty, no? Great or small, we must do our duty. Melisandre swears that she has seen me in her flames, facing the dark with Lightbringer raised on high. Lightbringer!” Stannis gave a derisive snort. “It glimmers prettily, I’ll grant you, but on the Blackwater this magic sword served me no better than any common steel. A dragon would have turned that battle. Aegon once stood here as I do, looking down on this table. Do you think we would name him Aegon the Conqueror today if he had not had dragons?” “Your Grace,” said Davos, “the cost … [sic]” “I know the cost! Last night, gazing into that hearth, I saw things in the flames as well. I saw a king, a crown of fire on his brows, burning … [sic] burning, Davos. His own crown consumed his flesh and turned him into ash. Do you think I need Melisandre to tell me what that means? Or you?” The king moved, so his shadow fell upon King’s Landing. “If Joffrey should die … [sic] what is the life of one bastard boy against a kingdom?”
This is the terrible tragedy of Stannis, or maybe the tragic terror - not simply that he was willing to burn his nephew, his ward, his only daughter's playmate and friend alive, but that he did so without a drop of sadistic pleasure or Snidely Whiplash-style villainy, because he genuinely believed that this was what he needed to do to save the world. Stannis knew, or believed he knew, that in being acclaimed as Azor Ahai Reborn he was being doomed to his own level of sacrifice; as he wryly noted to Davos, the burning crown was hardly a Delphic vision in its advertisement of his, Stannis', future destruction. Yet as Stannis also told Davos, he would not shirk away from what he believed to be his duty, temporal or apocalyptic. If "[t]he night that never ends" was (and is) threatening all of his people, then, so Stannis argued, he had to do what would save the greatest number of those people; he could not, by this logic, prioritize the life of one boy over the lives of so many boys and girls whose own lives were imminently threatened by a humanity-level crisis.
Further, Stannis demonstrated his commitment to this course of action by attempting to wring more guarantees from Melisandre immediately before Davos' surprise reveal:
Melisandre moved closer. “Save them, sire. Let me wake the stone dragons. Three is three. Give me the boy.” “Edric Storm,” Davos said. Stannis rounded on him in a cold fury. “I know his name. Spare me your reproaches. I like this no more than you do, but my duty is to the realm. My duty … [sic]” He turned back to Melisandre. “You swear there is no other way? Swear it on your life, for I promise, you shall die by inches if you lie.”
Here, Stannis clearly indicated to Davos that he had neither the time nor the patience for another philosophical debate on the morality of burning Edric Storm. Instead, Stannis repeated his brief, blunt thesis - "My duty is to the realm" - before allowing a moment of final conscience-clearing courtesy of Melisandre. Once again, Stannis shows that he was driven not by cruelty or hatred toward Edric the boy - indeed, not by any personal emotions at all - but a genuine belief that this, and nothing else, could save his realm from total destruction. His willingness to confirm with Melisandre that "there [was] no other way" illustrates how close Stannis came to the brink, already attempting to validate the conclusion even before the deed was done.
Of course, Stannis did not burn Edric, thanks to Davos' intervention. Yet his attempt, and more specifically his mindset for that attempt, hint at another, and likely more successful (in only the sense of being completed), sacrificial move. When the peril of the Others and the danger of another Long Night are at hand, I think Stannis will finally cross that line, burning not his nephew but his own daughter, believing, though I think completely wrongly, that only this sacrifice can save the world.

What if Rhaenyra had a twin brother? Does she marry him? Is Aemma's death butterflied away if Viserys already has his male heir? What happens?
okay so the thing about aemma. is that i know george can be very weird about gendered deaths, but women do in fact die in childbirth even today. or have complications that, in a period with the technology of westeros, would have killed them. like, people you know have probably had serious complications that might have killed them had they been born in a different time. aemma is 13. she is the age sansa is in affc, the age show sansa is in the first season, the age dany is when she loses rhaego. i canNot overstate the inbreeding here, we are talking levels higher than charles ii of spain. it makes complete sense that aemma has a hard time conceiving & that it ultimately kills her. there’s also no guarantee viserys stops wanting kids after one son; jaehaerys forces gael on alysanne and they’re supposed to be this great love, it is not out of the realm of possibility viserys does the same to aemma. she’s narratively doomed for a reason, unfortunately. so i’m not sure aemma does live even in the scenario that she has twins.
but. yes, rhaenyra and her brother would be married. they’d probably marry around 15-16, and no one would really expect viserys to remarry if his male heir is still alive, healthy, married, and starting to have kids. does this completely avoid the dance tho?
well. i mean, viserys doesn’t have to remarry but that doesn’t mean he won’t remarry. alicent is still hanging around at court. the velaryons may still take offense if viserys marries alicent. daemon has probably spent the last several years making his annoyance at his loss of status in the line of succession the problems of the innocent people in the stepstones, got bored of that, and has now decided to make it viserys’ problem again.
not to mention that heirs die all the time! aemon died! baelon died! baelor breakspear will die before daeron, daeron & aerion will die before maekar, and even outside the targaryens, edric dies before cregan, the arryns are on the brink of extinction every twenty years, and halys & daryn hornwood both die soon after each other which leaves hornwood hall’s inheritance in question. there’s like six potential political assassinations in the period just before the dance! there’s a lot of people with big egos and dragons running around, and i yet again cannot overstate how fuckijg inbred rhaenyra and her twin’s children are going to be.
imo daemon is Thee biggest problem in this scenario. he wants to be viserys’ heir so bad, and while he never takes any violent action against viserys, bc he loves viserys, i think rhaenyra existing with no man having a “claim” on her really placated daemon bc it made him feel he had a shot at staying somewhere near power through his wife (and like. he wasn’t wrong.) but if rhaenyra is spoken for, that changes daemon’s relationship with her AND viserys drastically. there’s so many options here for him to take to be a thorn in his brother’s side, from cuckolding his nephew to out and out murder, and if Viserys does remarry, or if Rhaenyra dies & her brother remarries, there is going to be more fighting and Daemon is gonna settle himself right in the middle of that. And that’s not even taking into account whatever the fucj Otto is doing because you know he’s doing something bc he is second born & has a complex over that and he hates daemon’s ass (and daemon hates him right back). larys and criston are still running around somewhere. qoren is still trying to dunk on corlys in the stepstones. i think so long as daemon is flying around on caraxes, he is still gonna amass a large group of haters, and both he and those haters are gonna bring that mess into the line of succession & viserys is too conflict avoidant to deal with him, which means it’s gonna become his kids’ problems and we know daemon is not above child murdering.
so can the dance be avoided? the casualties of it can certainly be avoided but the chekov's gun of "women cannot inherit" is still there waiting to absolutely FUCK house targaryen up, and with a royal family that is a little too eager to use dragons to fix their problems, there was likely always going to be some conflict. If Rhaenyra or her twin dies, or if they only have girls, and Daemon, Otto, Larys, Criston, and Corlys are all still running around trying to get their blood on the throne, there was inevitably going to be a conflict; it just might get pushed to be about Rhaenyra's children then about her and her twin brother.

Thanks for the reply! If we go by the show as you have mentioned the makers romanticized the relationships. GW and Missandei is not likely gonna happen in books because she is a child and had no connection with GW. Arya is still a child in books. Plus Gendry was given Edric Storm plot. I also don't think Braime will be a ship as it will be disservice to Brienne. Jaime is a villain. Daario loyalty towards Dany is still questionable unlike show.
Show also teased the audience with Yara-Dany, Yara-Ellaira and Brienne-Tormund which again don't make sense in books. Asha unlike her book counterpart is still in North and it's her uncle Victarion who is going to meet Dany in Meereen.
Then there are pairs which are not romantic but are develop because makers are sadists. Sansa-Ramsey and Cersei-Euron. Again these are not possible because Sansa was given Jeyne's plot and Euron is after Dany's dragons.
Makers already portrayed Jonerys as doomed relationship. Jonerys could be fanservice like other couples in show. Or it could happen but not in the way fans are expecting.
(Continuation of this convo)
I know it was a total D&D fabrication but Yara and Dany made way more sense to me than Jon and Dany! They we’re both ambitious and felt used/slighted by others because they were female, neither found conquering/violence a turn-off, and the actors had better chemistry. If only they went in that direction instead of…whatever the heck the other thing was. 😂
I think Jon and Dany must have some interaction but in such a limited space, it would be very difficult to sell it as any of kind genuine romance even if Martin wanted to. Not that I think he does. I assumed that Jon wishing for dragons and being warned of their danger, and Dany believing she will meet additional dragon riders, men she can trust, was prep for them meeting and Dany trusting Jon although he’s entirely loyal to the North the whole time, but I’m not sure how that could happen with everything else that also needs to happen!
I also do think he intends for a romance for Sansa and Jon of some kind but there are several paths that he could take there, and it’s really hard for me to see how any of them answer all the questions he’s presented/don’t cause their own problems and allow for Jon to go South for Targ stuff. 🤔

"Targaryen Exceptionalism"
beginning in Old Valyria, Targaryens were but a minor House of dragonlords. yet the Valyrian Freehold was built with the blood of those enslaved beneath its nine volcanoes, ever digging for greater riches, and the horrific inventions of Valyria's sorcerers who tested their theories on the conquered to twist the natural into the supernatural.
(yes, i'm one of the theorists who take House Targaryen's "blood of the dragom" quite literally)
Upon surviving the Doom, House Targaryen was a dormant threat during the Century of Blood: then came Aegon, Visenya & Rhaenys who decided to found a new empire for themselves by "uniting Westeros"... at dragonpoint.
CW: Old Valyria, its hobbies of enslavement and eugenics, anti-imperialism, Targaryen-skepticism, Stark-skepticism, critique of historic Targaryens, critique of Prince Rhaegar, potential spoilers for The Dragon Shows.
There is no good justification for conquest, the genocide of entire families, for destroying holy sites, for dragonbombing civilians (Aegon & Visenya took out their vengeance for Rhaenys on the entirety of Dorne, who dared to defy the Targaryens just as Nymeria defied Valyria's efforts to destroy her people after leaving their home a toxic wasteland). A (hypothetical) prophecy of ice & fire was assumed by these dragonlords as an entitlement to an entire continent "united" under THEIR rule.
if Aegon truly cared about the future, about a threat to humanity, he could have proposed alliance with House Stark and the other Kingdoms of Westeros. marriage, trade, mutual ceasefire: there are many methods of peacibly uniting peoples for a future problem. no, any service for "a greater good" should come at the cost of smaller, everyday acts of goodness. Ser Davos said it best, when his king Stannis proposed the sacrifice of one child (Edric Storm, his own nephew) to secure a hypothetical victory for his army: the sacrifice of one child means everything, in the context of war & kingship.
Targaryen Exceptionalism became "codified" into the Faith of The Seven during the reign of King Jaeherys I: he sent seven speakers to walk Westeros, praising and preaching the goodness of the new king & the exceptional nature of Targaryens in the eyes of the divine. Dragons raise Targaryens from the laws of mortal men, Valyrian tradition supercedes common sense and human taboo. The speakers, at the orders of Jaeherys I (& Vermithor, Alysanne & Silverwing) Targaryens rule Westeros but were not of it nor subject to its rules.
After the last Targaryen dragon died, the case for Targaryen Exceptionalism was rendered hollow: by this point there had been some intermarrying of House Targaryen with the other houses of Westeros and its members were far removed from the memory of Valyria beyond romanticized legend & its language (also spoken and used by peoples of Essos, descendants of escaped slaves & those once-conquered).
By the timeline of the main series of ASOIAF, the views on House Targaryen are polarizing: King Robert Baratheon saw any Targaryen as an abomination, laughing at the horror wrought unto Princess Elia's children and Princess Elia herself (again Dorne is considered an "acceptable target" by wider Westeros), demanding the death of pregnant 13 yr old Daenerys in AGoT; Ned Stark finds the murder of children horrific, like any sane person would, despite being the most wounded (surviving) party of House Targaryen and the actual rallying point of Robert's Rebellion; Daenerys, on the childhood memories told to her by her brother, by her hatching dragons... Daenerys renders herself Exceptional.
Targaryen Exceptionalism OUTSIDE of the ASOIAF books & shows is more questionable: the POVs we are given and the presentation of dragons & valyrian steel as a natural means of opposing Winter Personfied results in a fanbase who have bought into Valyrian exceptionalism almost entirely. Secret Targaryens are found or made because it is Assumed that, because past Targaryens claimed & proved themselves exceptional, because Daenerys Stormborn is exceptional... only those with dragon blood can be exceptional. This is not unique to House Targaryen: Stark blood and First Men heritage is also of much ado, based on the likes of Robb, Bran, & Arya Stark (Tully-Starks).
Brynden Rivers, Euron Greyjoy, Vladymr Six-Skins, & Jojen Reed demonstrate the magic in First Men blood; House Dayne's ancestral sword, Dawn, & their purple eyes draw theories of Valyrian exceptionalism several thousand years prior to the Freehold's existence; the black stone castles found throughout Westeros also kindle theories of anachronistic Valyrians (despite dragons existing throughout the histories of Westeros & Essos well before their becoming so intimately linked with Valyria or Targaryens).
Then there are the Sons of Ice & Fire: Brynden Rivers, a Targaryen bastard of a Blackwood mother, currently a tree wizard freezing beyond the wall; Jon Snow, of R + L = J. There was That Dragon Show, which romanticized such a Song by skipping over that whole "15 year old disappears without word, Kingsguard keeping her in a distant tower & attempting to murder her brother"; "Lord Rickard and his heir being tortured & burned to death, Aerys II subsequently calling for the heads of several other Lords Paramount"; "Prince Rhaegar's abandoning his wife & small children in his father's court, sparing a lone hostage-kingsguard for 4 royals & a city", etc. There was the "romance" between an undead king who sought a desperate alliance & his, unknown to them, young aunt who ditched her existing subjects in Essos for a pointy chair in a home she knows nothing of.
No one came out of That Dragon Show looking any good, the characters at its end being shadows of themselves by its end.
The NEW Dragon Show is set in the "Golden Age" of House Targaryen in Westeros: their game of musical chairs bloody and cruel, forced unto each generation by the fears & ambitions of those before them (children parenting children, grandfathers & second sons seeking power greater than the might they hold already).
I worry over The Sowing of Seeds: will Targaryen Exceptionalism be codified as true? will the Hiccup Method, nurture revealing itself as mattering more than nature?
I hope for the latter: any victory that belatedly justifies the horrors of Old Valyria, the cruelties of House Targaryen on its own children, the celebration of feudal monarchy as something heroic & inspirational... these things would sully the primary themes of ASOIAF: the hypocricies demanded of chivalry, the futility of war, the struggles of those rejected by songs & storybooks. eugenics is setdressing, not an ideal (both targaryen & stark exceptionalism awkwardly based within that concept, however innocently-intended).

Operation Stumpy Re-Read
ASOS: Davos VI (Chapter 63)
The nightfire burned against the gathering dark, a great bright beast whose shifting orange light threw shadows twenty feet tall across the yard. All along the walls of Dragonstone the army of gargoyles and grotesques seemed to stir and shift.
This is your daily reminder that we should always be thinking of Daenerys during a Stannis chapter.
+.+.+
King Stannis stood beside her [Selyse], jaw clenched hard, the points of his red-gold crown shimmering whenever he moved his head. He is with them, but not of them, Davos thought. Princess Shireen was between them, the mottled grey patches on her face and neck almost black in the firelight.
Ugh.
+.+.+
The voice of Ser Axell Florent rang loud as a trumpet. He stood barrel-chested and bandy-legged, the firelight washing his face like a monstrous orange tongue.
Will Ser Axell Florent be burned alive? How appropriate.
+.+.+
When he was a boy, the septons had taught Davos to pray to the Crone for wisdom, to the Warrior for courage, to the Smith for strength. But it was the Mother he prayed to now, to keep his sweet son Devan safe from the red woman's demon god.
I know you're a lost cause, but have you ever considered sending your 11-year-old son home?
+.+.+
"Fire is a living thing," the red woman told him, when he asked her to teach him how to see the future in the flames. "It is always moving, always changing . . . like a book whose letters dance and shift even as you try to read them. It takes years of training to see the shapes beyond the flames, and more years still to learn to tell the shapes of what will be from what may be or what was. Even then it comes hard, hard. You do not understand that, you men of the sunset lands." Davos asked her then how it was that Ser Axell had learned the trick of it so quickly, but to that she only smiled enigmatically and said, "Any cat may stare into a fire and see red mice at play."
Ser Axell Florent stares into the fire and sees what he wants to see.
Unlike Melisandre, who has it down to a science.
+.+.+
He had not lied to his king's men, about that or any of it. "The red woman may see what we intend," he warned them.
"We should start by killing her, then," urged Lewys the Fishwife. "I know a place where we could waylay her, four of us with sharp swords . . ."
"You'd doom us all," said Davos. "Maester Cressen tried to kill her, and she knew at once. From her flames, I'd guess. It seems to me that she is very quick to sense any threat to her own person, but surely she cannot see everything. If we ignore her, perhaps we might escape her notice."
Tumblr media
I think the author just established a new rule. Melisandre can sense any threat to her life.
I'll die of laughter if she's shown a vision of her killer and misinterprets it. Is that what happens? Oh man.
+.+.+
The maester broke off. "That will be enough for now, Edric."
The boy was puzzled by the intrusion. "Lord Davos, Ser Andrew. We were doing sums."
Ser Andrew smiled. "I hated sums when I was your age, coz."
"I don't mind them so much. I like history best, though. It's full of tales."
Edric and Sansa are endgame!
I couldn't make sense of this Jaime -> Davos chapter transition, until I realized this is the chapter Davos orchestrates an escape mission for Edric Storm. Jaime will do the same for Tyrion.
+.+.+
Pylos touched the chain of many metals he wore about his neck. "My place is here on Dragonstone. Go with Lord Davos now, and do as he says. He is the King's Hand, remember. What did I tell you about the King's Hand?"
"The Hand speaks with the king's voice."
Unless his tongue has been cut off?
Jokes, jokes.
+.+.+
"I shall go with you, Cousin," Ser Andrew assured him. "There's nothing to be frightened of."
"I am not frightened," Edric said indignantly. "Only . . . is Shireen coming too?"
"No," said Davos. "The princess must remain here with her father and mother."
Tumblr media
Please take Shireen.
+.+.+
"He does not want to see you." Davos had to say something, to get the boy moving. "I am his Hand, I speak with his voice. Must I go to the king and tell him that you would not do as you were told? Do you know how angry that will make him? Have you ever seen your uncle angry?" He pulled off his glove and showed the boy the four fingers that Stannis had shortened. "I have."
It was all lies; there had been no anger in Stannis Baratheon when he cut the ends off his onion knight's fingers, only an iron sense of justice. But Edric Storm had not been born then, and could not know that. And the threat had the desired effect. "He should not have done that," the boy said, but he let Davos take him by the hand and draw him down the steps.
One more reminder that Edric Storm is a good lad.
And he likes history best! He knows history! The author loves that.
+.+.+
He went to one knee before Edric Storm. "I must leave you now," he said. "There's a boat waiting, to row you out to a galley. Then it's off across the sea. You are Robert's son so I know you will be brave, no matter what happens."
"I will. Only . . ." The boy hesitated.
"Think of this as an adventure, my lord." Davos tried to sound hale and cheerful. "It's the start of your life's great adventure. May the Warrior defend you."
Edric and Sansa Arya are endgame!
+.+.+
"And may the Father judge you justly, Lord Davos." The boy went with his cousin Ser Andrew out the postern gate.
[...]
May the Father judge me justly, Davos thought ruefully. But it was the king's judgment that concerned him now.
Uh oh. I haven't verified, but I don't think you ever want that said to you.
+.+.+
If he survived this night, he would take Devan and sail home to Cape Wrath and his gentle Marya. We will grieve together for our dead sons, raise the living ones to be good men, and speak no more of kings.
He didn't. He didn't do it.
This is the first Davos chapter that I've read where I've felt a strong sense of his doom.
+.+.+
A half moon was sliding in and out amongst thin high clouds, and Davos could see familiar stars. There was the Galley, sailing west; there the Crone's Lantern, four bright stars that enclosed a golden haze. The clouds hid most of the Ice Dragon, all but the bright blue eye that marked due north.
There's an Ice Dragon that points north, and another star called Galley that sails west... Lmao.
+.+.+
The wings of the stone dragons cast great black shadows in the light from the nightfire. He tried to tell himself that they were no more than carvings, cold and lifeless. This was their place, once. A place of dragons and dragonlords, the seat of House Targaryen. The Targaryens were the blood of old Valyria . . .
Bad news, they're hot and full of life, and Crazy's coming home.
+.+.+
"Your Grace." Davos stepped forward. "Lady Melisandre saw it true. Your nephew Joffrey is dead."
[...]
Melisandre moved closer. "Save them, sire. Let me wake the stone dragons. Three is three. Give me the boy."
"Edric Storm," Davos said.
Stannis rounded on him in a cold fury. "I know his name. Spare me your reproaches. I like this no more than you do, but my duty is to the realm. My duty . . ." He turned back to Melisandre. "You swear there is no other way? Swear it on your life, for I promise, you shall die by inches if you lie."
Here's a guy that just agreed to burn an innocent child alive - his own nephew (Hello, Daenerys?) - and nobody in this stupid ass fandom holds it against him.
I'll eat a table the day the author gives this man the glory of winning back Winterfell.
+.+.+
Stannis made a fist. "Tommen is gentler than Joffrey, but born of the same incest. Another monster in the making. Another leech upon the land. Westeros needs a man's hand, not a child's."
Sorry everyone, we had to abandon that time gap.
A child it will be.
+.+.+
"Gone?" Stannis turned. "What do you mean, gone?"
"He is aboard a Lyseni galley, safely out to sea." Davos watched Melisandre's pale, heart-shaped face. He saw the flicker of dismay there, the sudden uncertainty. She did not see it!
There's also the possibility that someone games the system, and she never sees it, but I lean towards her being shown her own demise. That's so much more fun.
+.+.+
Her red eyes made him squirm. "I should have left you to the dark, ser. Do you know what you have done?"
"My duty."
"Some might call it treason." Stannis went to the window to stare out into the night.
Mental note, Stannis accused his Hand of committing treason, because he wouldn't let him burn someone alive.
+.+.+
"Your Grace, you made me swear to give you honest counsel and swift obedience, to defend your realm against your foes, to protect your people. Is not Edric Storm one of your people? One of those I swore to protect? I kept my oath. How could that be treason?"
Stannis ground his teeth again. "I never asked for this crown. Gold is cold and heavy on the head, but so long as I am the king, I have a duty . . . If I must sacrifice one child to the flames to save a million from the dark . . . Sacrifice . . . is never easy, Davos. Or it is no true sacrifice. Tell him, my lady."
Tumblr media
+.+.+
"She talks of cows," Davos told the king. "I am speaking of a boy, your daughter's friend, your brother's son."
"A king's son, with the power of kingsblood in his veins." Melisandre's ruby glowed like a red star at her throat.
A king's daughter, Davos! With the power of kingsblood in her veins! Davos, the daughter! Please!
+.+.+
Stannis slid Lightbringer from its scabbard. Its glow filled the chamber. "Say what you will, but say it quickly." The muscles in the king's neck stood out like cords.
Davos fumbled inside his cloak and drew out the crinkled sheet of parchment. It seemed a thin and flimsy thing, yet it was all the shield he had. "A King's Hand should be able to read and write. Maester Pylos has been teaching me." He smoothed the letter flat upon his knee and began to read by the light of the magic sword.
If Starks melt when they ride below the Neck, what happens to southron lords like Stannis and Littlefinger when they travel north?
Final thoughts:
Edric is still hiding in Lys, most likely waiting to be given Storm's End at the end of the story.
Sorry Gendry, you can't read and you don't know history.

My headcanons for Ghost
Tumblr media
Ghost is a docile, affectionate, and sweet cat who likes people petting her. She is very loyal, sweet, and affectionate to Amity.
Ghost Will protect Amity any given chance she gets.
Ghost is not easily seen walking around the Manor because she is so small one will see her tail first before any of their other features.
(I don’t know where she came from if they are a family heirloom, carved by Amity, adopted from school late, or bought  by the Blight, but whatever the case. Amity’s got herself a meow-meow.)
Bad Boy pet sits Ghost sometimes and temple doom them with obstacle courses. (Bad Boy and Bee will try to bathe the cat too which never ends well.) ( On my multi-muse)
Ghost likes the twins alright, but doesn’t like to be picked up or talked down to by them. She can already sense that Amity doesn’t like being babied so they won’t either.
This little gremlin can scream when they want something all across the walls mouth wide open and blue eyes piercing.
Ghost enjoys being terrible to everyone, but Amity when she is not feeling particularly angered by her or just want to play around with their owner. She will knock over Edric, Emira, and Odalia’s things on a moments notice when they are feeling bored.
She can’t figure out doors too well even if the door is cracked they will paw at the door to experiment if she can open it. That’s when they start shouting.
This cat will provide for their owner bringing Amity all kinds of gifts and offers that include a lot of dead things. She will be sad if she brings her one of the echo mice because she does not mind them. ( But Bee is eternally grateful for that! )
Ghost is not shy to meow constantly just to prove that she can make range.
Amity’s cat palisman is very strong, but doesn’t really enjoy being close to Alador’s abominations because they are gooey and unnatural and she just wants to stay clean,
Her cat palisman will jump up on all the furniture and is will not be spooked by people telling her to get down off of them.
As a cat Ghost does not spare anyone from putting it’s butt in front of their face especially Amity in the mornings.
Will scratch, hiss, and yowl on sight if anyone in the house makes Amity upset.
Will stick by Amity’s side when she needs her. Including hounding her for snuggles. Demands to be held.
She gets her fur all over Amity’s black clothes she has to use a lint roller often
Ghost will hiss and frizzle up their tail if Alador steps too close they don’t want that goop on them and he has a strange odor about him. She will not hesitate to hiss at Odalia too they’re not a fan of either Blight parents
Betas of her owner (Aurora, Alice) and Beta Willow (Nettle) have an okay status with them, although more sniffing is required to get a full reading on the two.
Ghost will sleep with Amity when she allows her to as long as she’s in the mood to have company.
Ghost chirps at Amity and has a lot of respect for her they will perch on her shoulder whenever it feels like Amity is in danger. But mostly will proudly be her staff.
Best Friends with Owlbert and enjoys being around Willow’s palisman Clover and Gus’s chameleon Palisman Emm.
Ghost is not quite sure about the students of Hexside they can tell Amity has had it rough with Skara and Boscha so as such will stick up their nose.
Ghost likes to knead bed sheets until there are little holes in them so smirks at Ams when someone has to go buy new sheets.
This kitty is not sure about ( Bee’s Wolf familar Lyra or Bad Boy’s familar Bunga  They have a mutual respect, but as a cat is understandably scared of their massive size and overreactive nature. Does not mess with Bunga or Lyra Period.
Ghost is still getting to know Edric & Emira’s palisman (if they have any? I’ll accept headcanons or ideas for them for anyone’s individual palismans)

Do you think Eddard Stark was in Starfall when Ashara Dayne committed suicide? If so, how do you think was the general "atmosphere" between Ned and the Daynes, given all that happened (the feeling between the two at Harrenal, the thing with Brandon [?], the stillborn child, the war, the death of Arthur)? It seems that the relationship was quite good, in spite of everything (Wylla, the secret of Jon parentage kept...).
This is a very good question, and one which I think is at least for now unanswerable. There is still a considerable amount of mystery - to some extent intentionally so, of course - surrounding the relationship between Daynes and Starks immediately before and during Robert's Rebellion, and that level of mystery naturally obfuscates the details of the timeline around and immediately after the final fight at the tower of joy. We know that Ned buried Arthur, as well as the other Kingsguard and his own slain companions, using the stones of the tower; we know he took Dawn back to Starfall to return Dawn to Ashara (who was specifically alive at that point), we know that Ned obviously left and that Ashara obviously died ... but that's it.
I think the answer, to the extent we will ever get one, probably depends on how Ashara felt about the situation, especially after Ned returned with Dawn. What did Ashara know at that point, what did Ned tell her, and how might any of that knowledge have impacted her feelings - did she know by then, for example, that Brandon Stark had been murdered, or that Rhaegar had been killed in battle, or that Elia and her children had been murdered, or that the Targaryens had definitively lost the war, and which if any of these informed her emotional state (and how)? How did she react to the outcome of the fight at the tower of joy, to the news of her brother's death, to the revelation of baby Jon? To what extent if any did Ashara and Ned had a romantic attraction/relationship, and if there were one, to what extent did Ned's return with Dawn post-tower of joy affect Ashara's feelings? Was Ned coming to Starfall - to give back the sword, to bring her news of her brother's death, to inform her of whatever else he might have told her about - the last tragedy in a likely very painful last few years for Ashara, or was it only Ned's departure from Starfall - permanently leaving Ashara's life to become Lord of Winterfell, Catelyn's husband, and (though he might not have known it yet) Robb's father - that added a final layer of grief to Ashara's life?
In sum, to understand Ashara's death we have to understand Ashara and her mindset at that moment. Accordingly, so long as Ashara is left an enigma, her death will be so as well.
All of these questions aside (and left open for the moment), I think you are right to note the generally not-antagonistic treatment Ned (and baby Jon) appear to have received from the Daynes. Ned is not a villainous figure in the eyes of young Lord Edric, but a character from a romantic past, engaged in doomed and unfulfilled love with the family's own lost daughter Ashara. Likewise, whatever anyone at Starfall knew about the tower of joy - I would bet Wylla the wet nurse knew quite a lot, though I'm less certain how much the information was distributed and to whom - they've certainly kept pretty mum so far as we know, with Wylla's cover story apparently convincing Edric. I think the Daynes at the very least might have recognized Ned's honor and tact - giving Arthur the same burial he gave his own companions, returning the sword instead of Unwin Peake-like keeping it as a prize of war - and perhaps sympathized with the shared tragedy of the situation. Both Ned and Ashara had lost a brother in the course of this war; both Ned and the Daynes had found nothing but grief at the tower of joy. Where Ashara had lost her stillborn daughter (perhaps fathered by one of the Stark brothers), Ned had been unable to save his sister; now there was only the child not of Ned's body but Lyanna's, the orphaned boy Ned had determined to raised as his own. Having shared Ned's losses and losses like his, the Daynes were, perhaps, more willing to not hate Ned afterward and to some extent help with baby Jon.

it's fitting that Robert would give Cersei a stags head to her everytime she gave him a baby because through her children being Lannisters she was ensuring the death of his line

Edric telling hunter dumb jokes just to see his smile :)
Awwww Ed totally would!
Edric likes to see him smile, which is something old gloom and doom doesn't do often, so to stop him from being grumpy after a long day he'd crack the most stupid jokes (which he knows are shit) just to see Hunter laugh.
Be it from him unironically finding the joke funny or from the fact that Ed would actually say something that stupid.
Hunter doesn't exactly have a good sense of humour.
[Also this reminds me of something from a prompt generator so I might make a series expanding on prompts I get from a generator]
