I haven’t done anything for uni since february and all I wanna do is just drop out but I can’t do that to my family

like they can’t have one daughter to have never had her a levels and one daughter, me, who started uni, dropped out, started studying something else, took a year longer and then decided to drop out again.

I feel like such a failure but covid hitting right when I started my second semester ruined everything. I love uni, i love studying but I’ll never get those 2 years back and I’ve just lost all motivation

Working on a group presentation about Community Language Learning!

I think I've got the PowerPoint about 90% perfect now, so tomorrow when we have our group meeting we can pick what sections we want to present and get on to scripting and practicing everything.

Five rules I will have in my classroom when I am a teacher.

Everyone studies differently. So prior to a test, I will do various studying methods. Students can do flashcards, play a Kahoot on their own time, do a study guide, or review notes.

Food and drinks allowed.

Done with an assignment and nothing else to do? Studentd can be on their phone or laptop.

Students can talk amongst themselves when I'm not teaching.

Students do not have to answer all test questions. I will do little extra credit questions such as doodles or telling me a story as a little break in between each section.

For my Edu-Tech Class, I had to make an outline of my classroom

Yes, I'm going to have my desk right by the window. This is for several reasons:

1.) It always bugged me a little bit that teachers always had their desks hidden behind the door. I'll probably learn why they do that when I actually teach, but I like the idea of always having an eye on the door

2.) Plants. Yes, I want to have plants in my room. Nothing too big, maybe a Minthe

3.) I will have gone to over 4 years of school to teach. If the window seat in the best one in class (as was the case in my High School), then I want it

4.) If we're using the Projector, I can just slip the blinds closed, without having to walk all the way across the room

Also, I'd have a Bookshelf full of resources for the students (well, not full. Teacher's Salary after all), and history posters (some cool, others corny) all over the walls. Also, can't forget flags (Sweden, Finland, Cuba, Bisexual, Nevada, Idaho, and my Micronation Flag)

sooo i kinda disappeared for quite a while, but oh well, i'm here now.

the entire october was honestly a mess: there was so much stuff at the same time, i am still rather overwhelmed even though currently i am dealing with just the last few bits of the slowly dying flame that is my practice at school as a teacher. thankfully, it has just ended, so now i am left with a few papers and assignments to fill in, and then this unit is done for good.

to summarize all of the things that happened into a short list:

i moved from one parent to another, accompanied with my dog;

my dog kept getting sick for different reasons, this month we visited the vet more than in the entirety of the last year;

i taught 3 classes at school, 2nd grade level;

i taught one extracurricular class, 1st grade level;

made a group project with other students and kids from 3rd grade;

speedrun my practice diaries (assignments we have to do during our practice at a school) in two days;

learned how to cook some basic soups;

learning how to bake pancakes;

decorated my room, so now it finally feels like home.

as one might be able to notice, that's quite a list. there definitely could be even more, but thankfully fate spared me from more stress than i could already barely handle. but hey, on the bright side of things, i have grown quite a lot as a young adult, and all those troubles showed me that i am stronger than i anticipated myself to be (which is a big revelation for me).

i am very glad for everything turning out the way it did, and now i finally have some energy and emotional resources back to focus more on my hobbies and interests. isn't that wonderful?
