Please, enlighten me as to how shipping Edward Elric (a 15 year old at the time of meeting) and Envy (a 175 year old at the time of them meeting) isn't pedophilia. Would love to hear you figure that one out my love.

....okay, I get this is hard for people to understand, but as every year passes, we all grow a year older. And one day, essentially 18 years after the day of our birth, our culture has decided that you are an adult. So anything that happens between two people, over the age of 18, that is consensual, is NOT pedophilia.

In fact, if you actually want to be accurate, it's any relationship where the person is over 13, because: Pedophilia is used for individuals with a primary or exclusive sexual interest in prepubescent children aged 13 or younger.

It's also really disgusting how you throw that term around too, considering you don't even seem to know it's definition.

So, long story short, it's very easy to ship Edvy, since many writers simply write Edward, as being 18! But even if he WAS 15, it wouldn't be pedophilia, it could be considered ephebophilia (sexual preference for late-stage adolescents, typically ages 15 and 16).

It also depends on how old the person is writing Envy, because I don't know if you knew this about fan fiction, but the authors can CHANGE things, like the characters AGES! So Envy can be written as being same age as Edward, and since to be any kind of philia, "the interest or behaviour in question must be present for at least six months for clinical diagnosis, and the affected individual must be at least 16 years of age and at least 5 years older than the child (or children) at the centre of the individual’s sexual fantasies", so as such these fictions operate within these boundaries!
