Edward Cullen/ Afab!Reader
cw: SMUT 18+ MDNI, oral f receiving, unprotected p in v sex, edward breaks the headboard hehe, and edward is completely enamored with you.

this was supposed to be a short drabble but i just couldn't shut up
Tumblr media
reader pov.
Being with edward has been nothing but a beautiful and slightly chaotic ride. With finding out he wasn't human instead was a hundred something year old vampire along with the rest of his family. And then as your relationship grew as did the romance between you too, and that grew tenfold when the magnetic pull you felt for one another was because you were mates.
Fated to be together, equals, crafted for one another, you both completing one another and that never felt truer than now.
Body underneath his stony one, feverishly chilly lips leave a scorching trail of kisses from your neck to your bare chest. edward inhales your scent, and scent that didn't have him craving your blood like he was supposed to instead it calmed and aroused his body in a tantalizing mix. His eyes flick up to yours, pupils nearly completely dilated leaving behind a dark amber ring at the edge of his iris. Love and lust in his gaze has your body warming, and you knew that your gaze mimicked his.
"So beautiful. I'll never get enough of you my love." his word are spoken with nothing but truth. Leaving your shared gaze he continues his journey down your torso, soft hands caressing your hips squeezing the plump flesh before leading down your thighs to the backs of your knees. Mouth leaving behind love-bites upon your skin, each one sending jolts of heat straight to your core, evidence of your arousal staining the insides of your thighs.
Going lower with each kiss pulling your legs apart allowing him to sink further down, mouth right above where you need him most. A blush covers your cheeks and the tops of your breast, "Edward- you don't have to do that."
His gaze snaps up to you, and the sight of his head between your thighs with the full intention to bring you pleasure has you holding back a shiver. "I want to, God you have no idea how long I've wanted to do this. Can I ?" Why would you ever deny that? Nodding your head edward goes back to staring at your weeping cunt.
Hands tighten their grip on you before he's pushing them further apart and up, completely baring you to him. You watch as his mouth descends until you feel his tongue lick up from the bottom to your clit. softly wrapping the bud with his lips gently sucking on the bud, sending a shockwave of pleasure through you. A moan falls from your slightly swollen lips, seeing your obvious satisfaction edward continues his ministrations. Swirling his tongue a sucking in your clit, body lighting up in euphoria as a ball of pleasure settles into the pit of your stomach. Shaky breaths leave you as your gaze stays locked onto edward’s head, vision blurring around the edges as your mind begins to wholly submit to him.
Then his mouth is leaving your clit all too soon, but you don't have to wonder for long where he's going next. His tongue delves straight into your cunt, mouth covering the bottom half of you. Your eyes widen before rolling back into your head at the mind-numbing sensation of his tongue massaging your walls, pushing in and out of you. Then one of his hands is leaving your thighs and begins to swirl your forgotten clit between his fingers.
Your breathing is uneven breast rising and falling as you try to catch your breath. Heart racing as your body becomes so pliant and warm under his devotion. Your moans and cries of his name bounce around the room, hands going to his soft hair to tangle themselves within them, hoping to keep yourself grounded. The knot within your belly only tightens with each moment that passes. Your mind lagging behind as it gets lost within this pleasure, you realize a little late that edwards tongue has left you but his cool fingers have entered and taken the spot where his tongue once was. Curling up sweetly rubbing into your g-spot, a near-cry of pleasure leaves you at this.
The ball of pleasure that had settled within your core tightened and then you where cumming, as your cunt milked his fingers as they continued to abuse your g-spot. With your high fizzling out of you, thighs shaking with the intensity of your orgasm. Your eyes open looking down to see edward leaning his head against the one thigh he still had a grip on, fingers still buried within you and a smirk of satisfaction upon his face.
"You look so gorgeous when you cum." giving the inside of your thigh a sweet kiss before he starts to sit up, wrapping your legs around his waste. Face rising up to yours, his mouth comes down giving you a kiss that leaves you breathless. "Do you want to keep going?"
"Yes-yes, please." no shame, your words are full of need and edwards smirk brightens. "Of course my love, I am at your whim."
Reaching down taking edward by surprise, you grip his hardness, a groan leaves him at your soft hold. Lining him with your cunt you let him slowly sink into you. Your head falls further into the pillow as edward grits his teeth hoping to keep himself in control.
He stretches you out just perfectly, filling you up with no space left and your walls wrap so beautifully around him, so warm and wet and oh so welcoming to his cock. You were both made for one another as you slot together- bodies entwined with one another. "Move, Edward please." as your words leave you, he is obeying.
With near flawless movements he starts a slow yet deep pace, bottoming out to the hilt. Each thrust has you keening in utter ecstasy body lit aflame. But his pace begins to pick up speed as your cunt continues to push him to his limits by squeezing him, and with every pull out of you, your walls are trying to suck him back in. God he never knew he could feel like this, so wholly enraptured, this was his new drug and Edward knew that he would never want to part from it.
Your thighs tighten around his waist, arms leaving the bedsheets to latch onto his back. Nails digging into his stony muscle, as your head buries into his neck where his scent is strongest. Your sounds of pleasure are right by his ear, the most beautiful song he's ever heard. His arms leave your waist in favor of the headboard, harshly gripping onto the mahogany. Edward moans along with you as he tilts his pelvis down and up, kissing your g-spot with the tip of his cock. And with his pelvis hitting your clit with every thrust back into your cunt.
Your arousal leaks out staining the fronts of his thighs along with the sheets beneath you, your heady scent filling the space around you two. Edward feels the head board snap then crumble within his grasp and not a moment after that does he feel your cunt quiver as you cum, walls milking him as a gush of your arousal stains his thighs. An unfiltered moan falls from edward, completely in shock at this sensation pace becoming frenzied as he pistons into you with the sole intention to cum within your cunt. Your head has fallen back into the pillow body buzzing in overstimulation as your third orgasm nears.
"Edward-please, please, I need it." words broken up by moans as you barely get them out. Edward's body hunches over yours, hands coming down from the shattered headboard to the sheets beside your head before quickly wrapping around your body. Pulling your chest against his, a hand against the small of your back the other at the base of your head.
His body trying to get as close to you as possible, trying to bury himself within you. Cock bullying your overstimulated and weeping cunt that continues to welcome him in with every thrust, pace now rougher and faster. Each time his cock bottoms out reaching the end of you your moans are punched out of you, mind having turned to mush. Your ears are hypnotized by the heady squelching sound of your cunt along with edwards moans of pure pleasure.
Edward feels the painfully tight knot of pleasure in his pelvis snap, cock swelling as he empties himself within you, eyes closing from the heavy orgasm. That orgasm grows tenfold with you cumming again, walls milking his cock in an attempt to ring him completely dry. Slowing down his thrusts as you both come down from your highs, coming to a stop as you are both left in the aftershocks of your orgasms. Gently bringing you back down to the bedsheets, turning to the side with you still within his embrace. feeling your racing heart against his chest.
Ever so softly he begins to place chaste kisses upon your skin along with 'I love you's, soon your body is lulled into unconsciousness, as edward continues to give his worship to your body. As you rest he lays protecting and watching over you and with every moment that passes does he fall more and more in love with you.
His mate, made just for him.

Would you ever write an Edward story where he cheats on Bella post Breaking Dawn or they break up because he falls in love with another human after her? Like a few years down the line, he starts to miss Bella’s human scent, softness, etc. and then he meets another singer or someone whose mind he can’t read and becomes obsessed with them. And it’s angsty because they realize he doesn’t really like vampire Bella and what attracted him to her was her “humanness” so now that it’s gone, he loses interest.

Pairing(s): Edward Cullen x human!witch!Reader, Edward Cullen x Bella Swan
Warnings: major regret, kinda feel bad for bella while writing this 😅, falling out of love, for the sake of this story reneesme doesn't exist, kinda creepy stalker vibe from edward?, but what else do you expect from him 😂, sorry this is short :( been suffering from major writer's block
Words: 1443
Tumblr media
There was no warmth of life to Bella, not anymore. Edward had fought against Bella's desire to be like him, an immortal. With her warmth went that oh so sweet honeysuckle scent of her singer blood. He missed nuzzling his nose in the crook of her neck, inhaling deeply and listening to her blood coarse through her veins. Everything was cold and hard and unwelcoming now that she was like the rest of the Cullens.
And while he was able to physically love her without restraint now, there was a gnawing dissatisfaction that burned a hole deep inside of him.
He tried smothering it, not let it grow and feed off his lingering thoughts. Just a harmless, passing thought. They'd taken vows, to love one another for the rest of their immortal lives in front of all their friends and family. Edward thought he got his happily ever after with Bella, his singer.
Never did he imagine that he would miss her mortality so much and so greatly. Profound was his distress over this realization as he experienced grief for Bella's human life once more. This time it lingered. Resting on the precipice of his consciousness.
Try as he may, it creeps into his mind whenever he holds onto her golden gaze. Grateful that Bella's special ability wasn't telepathy like him. It would break her heart if she heard the doubting thoughts that grew louder each passing day.
Edward didn't know the exact start date of this swift change in his mentality toward someone he'd loved and cherished so much that he was willing to face both the wolves and the Volturi in order to protect her.
Immense shame rendered him speechless, unable to seek help or advice from his brothers. He'd never kept such a large secret before from them. They'd always held a sympathetic ear for Edward but. . . if he told them about this, Emmett and Jasper might add onto his guilt. Bella was their sister-in-law. His brothers have proven that they genuinely care for her and accept her as part of the Cullen clan.
The world around him was crumbling. Nothing for him to stabilize himself.
Errands that took him away from town were like a breath of fresh air to his undernourished lungs- well, metaphorically.
His outings lasted longer and longer each time. The distance he put between himself and Bella growing larger.
Until something odder happened to him.
He smelled the blood of a singer once more. Each inhalation a spasming jolt shot through him. A burst of honeyed, reduced him to damn near salivating. Edward had almost forgotten the scent. Almost mistook it for something else.
Akin to an apex predator, he's easily guided to the source of such an alluring aroma that has him blind-sided. He doesn't care in that moment who lay at the end of the trail or of the consequences that may befall him from this encounter.
If it hadn't been for your singer blood, you would have blended in with the rest of the crowd in Port Angeles. A typical human female hanging out with her friends; just like many others that night. Unaware of the glowing eyes of the animal stalking her.
But you weren't like your other friends. With his vampire eyes, he saw the glow of your skin; your aura was blinding. Even Bella's presence wasn't as bright as when he laid eyes on you. His honeypot.
He frantically rifles through the crowd's thoughts, tossing them away when they didn't belong to you.
In pursuing you, Edward was essentially damning himself. Each step he took closer to you was like walking into danger itself. A moth to a flame. For the first time in a long time, Edward felt utterly helpless. Weak even.
Then he heard the ring of your thoughts.
And he smiles to himself, listening in as you contemplate leaving early to go home and finish the book you'd started the other day. How it was getting to the good part. Torn that you were also having fun with your friends though.
Subtly watching you from a hiding spot, Edward simply closes his eyes and focuses on the flow of your thoughts in an attempt to get to know you better. Another human girl with the delicious blood of a god.

Bella checks the time on her phone again.
2 am
Edward had left eight hours ago, not bothering to tell anyone where he was going or taking his phone with him. His behavior was growing more concerning. She'd asked Jasper and Emmett if they had noticed this odd turn in Edward and they too agree that something was up with him. Alice did her best to offer a positive take on the issue. Not even Carlisle or Esme had an answer.
Not too long ago Edward had been so attentive to her, relishing in sharing immortality with her.
Deciding to wait in their shared little cottage home, Bella leaves the main Cullen estate and takes to the small pebbled path that led to her home. She remembers how happy they were when Carlisle gifted the cottage to them when they came back from their honeymoon.
Her fingers lazily trail along the rugged bark of trees. Nails lightly dragging across it.
Their life was perfect now. She fit into his world. So. . . why the sudden distance? This was going on to four months now and the decline was becoming more evident.
Her other hand is anxiously drawn to her chest in an effort to comfort her. Bella could hear the cracks in their marriage and overall relationship.
Tumblr media
Edward growls in irritation with himself. What an idiot he was following you home. Stupid that he put everything on the line just to be around you a little bit longer.
He kept bargaining with himself that he was only going to stay for an hour. An hour turned into two, then three. . . Until he was perched atop of a tree across the street from your house.
Exasperated he runs a hand across his face, making his way up the brick steps of the cottage.
He shouldn't have followed you back to your home. Now he had that knowledge of your address.
That meant. . .
So consumed in his inner turmoil, Edward was caught off guard by Bella's voice "Where have you been?"
His eyes round in alarm, the only tipoff to his surprise. "Hunting." Well. . . kind of true.
That was not the answer she wanted. Bella's brows furrow with her disdain. "Edward, what's going on? And don't say that nothing is going on because even the rest of the family has seen the change in you."
Hell, why was he thinking about your fragrance? Likening it to standing at the threshold of the divine and savoring the ambrosial nectar that flowed through the veins of gods.
Had Bella's smelled like that? He couldn't recall.
He forcefully pulls himself back to address Bella. He couldn't keep lying to her. Bella deserved the truth. But it would hurt her once the words left his mouth. It would make everything more real to verbally acknowledge it.
"Bella. . ." Edward must have looked scared and pathetic in that moment. He could see his reflection in her golden eyes. Eyes he'd groan to begrudge. "I really don't know what's going on myself. . . but. . ." Sighing, he ignores the consequences that would follow. "I miss your humanness, Bella. Your softness. The warmth of your embraces. Your scent. . . It's-you're just- just not the same. And those were the parts that I fell in love with. Your humanity was what defined you. That delicate balance of strength and vulnerability that all comes with being mortal."
While he'd kept his tone as gentle as possible, that did little to stop the breaking of Bella's face as her lips curl and tremble. The delicate arch of her brows twitch in an attempt for restraint for despite all the emotions she was feeling, Bella's tear ducts no longer produced tears. As with all vampires.
A tremor passes through Bella. The essence of heartbreak etched itself on her face. "D-Do you still love me?"
In a moment of cowardice, Edward averts his gaze from her making the sorrow she felt boil into fury.
"Answer me, Edward. Do you still love me?" Her hands ball up into fists at her sides.
He struggles to find the words to encapsulate the complexities of his emotions.
The quietude of the cottage seemed to amplify the tension that hung between them.
Bella grits down on the back of her teeth, a burning force behind her eyes that made her desperate to cry. "After everything Edward. . ."
"I'm sorry Bella. . ."

Pairings: Edward Cullen x Reader Warnings: None really A/N: I’ve had this posted on Wattpad for a while, and I decided to post it now just because. This was a request that I got that I had a lot of fun writing with. I hope you enjoy it, thank you!
Tumblr media
Edward's eyes once again wandered to the girl sitting alone in a cafeteria full of tables with open seats. Her body hunched over the surface of the table, her eyes downcast as she stared at a book she held in her lap. There was a frown on her face, though not as deep as the one she usually wore along the halls of the school.
He delved into her mind, which was a creation of the words she was reading, pictures and images of characters and their actions as she mentally played out the scene she read. His curiosity reached its peak when his own face popped into her mind, it seemed she had chosen him to take the face of a character decorated in a fond light. He assumed it to be for the same reason others usually found him and his family interesting, a pretty face for a pretty person.
As the scene of the fantasy story played out, he found himself-a character, the hero of the story-sitting alone under a tree to reflect on his thoughts. The thoughts were relatively tortured, but forced into a positive light illustrated by the story.
As she read, he found a hint of distaste in her face at the way the author had described the thoughts of the character, drenching them in optimism when the thoughts and actions they had come from clearly should have been solemn to hold a depth she knew the character held. A depth she unconsciously identified with. A quiet scoff passed through her lips, and Edward's own lips lifted in a slight smile, finding amusement in her thoughts and portrayed emotions.
Edward found his feet moving before his mind as he stood from his own table, earning the looks of his siblings, which he ignored. Even the inquiries found in their thoughts could not reach his mind as his eyes stayed focused on the girl. As he approached her table, he could hear his name reflecting off the thoughts of the students around him, curious to see what was going on with the Cullen and the loner; essentially the outcasts.
He came to stand by her table, her eyes eventually tearing from her book as she came to the realization of the presence. When her eyes found him, her mind was torn away from her book almost viciously. Edward could see the alarm bells going off in her head at the sight of him and almost snickered, ever-amused by her reaction to him.
"Hello," he said after her mind had enough calm to comprehend his words. Although it seemed she was still experiencing some shock as she took a moment to respond. Her mind, however, was not as still.
What's going on? Am I being pranked? she thought to herself. There's someone at my table- Wait, he spoke to you. Say something! She shook her head to free herself from her mind as she nodded, taking note of the person in front of her. "Edward Cullen." She berated herself for verbally identifying him. "Er- Hi..." She tried to find something else to say, her thoughts an disorganized mess as she tried to sort through the socially acceptable answer but only coming out drawing straws. "What are you doing at my table?"
As Edward listened to her mind, he could not help his curiosity at the fact that her first thought was not connected to who he was, but rather that he was someone standing in front of her. His name had only come after the fact that she was not alone anymore and that she needed to speak. He was about to leave too much silence between their responses before he finally spoke to her, "What are you doing sitting alone at your table?"
He could feel the eyes boring into his body from all angles as people all over the cafeteria stared at them. It was the polar opposite to subtle, and they all shamelessly knew it. He filtered all of their thoughts to focus on her own, her mind interesting him to no end.
Her cheeks suddenly flooded with blood, tinting a darker color as she looked around at all the attention they were receiving. He bit the inside of his cheek to focus on anything but the blood flowing through her veins that was suddenly brought to his attention. Her heart was pounding in her chest, more of what he assumed was just embarrassment flooding her. Although, upon further inspection, in her mind he could sense something else coming from the change.
"I..." she tried to come up with a response. "I always sit by myself."
Edward stifled a chuckle at her reply. The bluntness of the statement was humorous to him, although he did not know why. Her eyes continued to dart around them, complaints and anxiety screaming in her mind about all the eyes watching them. Edward turned to see some of the people watching, locking eyes with them to humiliate them into looking away. Eye contact made most people squeamish, so a simple look should suffice for most as they frantically looked away to try and find something else to console their embarrassed thoughts about being found out.
Edward's eyes returned to her, giving a gentle smile in an attempt to calm her nerves a little. "Would you like some company?" he asked, tilting his head slightly in an attempt at using his charm. It was just a test really, he wanted to see her reactions to him.
Her mind wandered back to her book, to the character with his face. She matched the smiles and there was another fond light over the thought. He looks so happy, she commented, a brief flicker of the character's tragic backstory making the simple act of the hero smiling just as beautiful.
She returned to the present when his question resurfaced and she nodded, letting out a bit of a sigh as a small grin spread over her own lips. "That would... actually be really great. Yes?"
Edward's amusement mixed into something else: genuine wonder and interest trumped his basic curiosity. He took a seat next to her, his movements slow and almost cautious as he kept some distance, but not enough to raise any flags. Her smile wavered for a moment, an unease in her thoughts again as her eyes moved back to the eyes on her. This could be a trick... What if it's a prank?
Her eyes scanned over him, returning to the cover of her book as she fingered the edges. Maybe I should've ignored him... No one ever wants to sit here... Her thoughts had a frown sinking into his lips, the turn from surprise to shock to pleasantry to anxiety almost unsettling.
He tried to shake her from those thoughts as he asked in a gentle voice, "So, again I ask, why are you sitting by yourself?"
She shrugged, thinking of an answer. "I don't have anywhere else to sit." She was quiet for a moment. "I'm a loner... always have been." There was a sadness to her tone, and in her mind she found herself once again reflecting on the character in her head. An outcast loner by his peers, a loner by force.
"Something tells me... not by choice?" he asked as he tried to make the connection.
She looked at him, her eyes almost looking as though she was trying to see into his own mind. She shook her head, "Uh... No. No, not by choice."
"So... why?" He could not find the answer in her mind, hard as he tried. She was very good at avoiding the conflict, pushing it from her thoughts to limit the amount of discomfort she felt over the past. She shrugged, "Fall out with a popular kid."
Finally, she gave away a face and an accompanying memory with said person, a relationship she held in her early years of high school. It was a wonder he had not gotten the story by now. He knew every story, except this one...
"I see..." he mumbled, although he did not see the details, just the bigger picture. He was trying so hard to understand, to piece everything together. He had missed the way she searched the room, her eyes darting around her audience as she slumped toward her book.
"What's wrong?" he asked, taking in her new thoughts. He saw it before she said it.
"People are staring," she mumbled.
Amusement returned at the prospect of the eyes of teenagers watching them. He did his best to conceal his smile, but it was all in vain as a small grin found his lips. "That bothers you?"
She shrugged, "It doesn't bother you?"
"No, not really." He shook his head, his eyes glancing at random people before settling back at her.
"Right..." she chuckled humorlessly. "You're a Cullen. You're probably used to people staring."
He chuckled as well. "Kind of, yeah." She nodded and stared down at her book.
Edward wanted to keep her talking. Her thoughts were not giving him enough information on what she was actually thinking. She was too focused on the eyes on them and her awareness of him sitting across from her. "You know," he said, "you can always just stare back. People don't like eye contact much."
She smiled, looking at him as she shook her head. "That won't work for me."
His smile grew, his teeth flashing slightly in a way that he thought would make her cringe away from him, but she did not. Her gaze only continued to sort of evaluate him. "Why not?" he asked.
She gave no verbal response, but her mind did. I'm not that bold. He chuckled and silence fell between them again. This silence was not uncomfortable as their eyes watched each other. She was unaware that she was staring, taking in his face in a different light than he expected to see on him. It was like she was looking at him through rose-colored glasses, reminding him of Carlisle and Esme's own humble views of him.
Company's better than I thought... Edward smiled at the thought, which prompted him to say his next words, surprising both her and himself.
"You know... my table is always open."
Her brows shot up at that, an offer to sit with him and his siblings, the other social outcasts of sorts. She blinked rapidly, trying to make sense of his kindness.
She clasped a hand over her book, unconsciously pulling it toward her chest. "You mean, like," she wondered, "with your family?"
He nodded, seeing the problem as his brows furrowed. "Yeah," he muttered. "Is that a problem?"
She shrugged, running a hand through her hair. Again, she glanced around her, "Wouldn't there be... more staring?"
"As I said, just stare back," he smiled widely, a laugh escaping him at the fact that she was still stuck on the eyes still watching them.
This time, she laughed too, a musical sound that gave him a very surprising feeling. In her mind, she imagined the two of them staring at the students watching them, scaring them away as pride swelled in her thoughts at the prospect.
"That would be cool..." she said after coming down from her laughter. Her eyes wandered to Edward's normal table where the Cullens sat. They were no different from the rest of the students as their curious eyes watched them closely. Their gaze, however, was a little more intense than the others. "Are you sure your siblings wouldn't mind?"
"Of course," he said, almost laughing again.
A chirping voice suddenly entered his mind, as if on cue. Yay! She's coming!
It seemed she would be accepting his proposal. "Alice would be happy to have a guest, anyway," Edward said, his words lingering in an open statement. She was silent for a moment, weighing the pros and cons of the decision.
More people will stare... well the school needs the drama anyway. She shook her head at herself. Edward watched with heavy interest, his lips curling and his brows furrowing. He watched her shoulders fall slightly as her eyes downcast to her book.
I won't be alone anymore...
She thought about how it might be to sit at the Cullens' table, to sit with people who did not hold a distaste for her. She smiled to herself and turned to Edward. She nodded shyly, "Then... yeah. I'll sit with you."
"Really?" he asked. He had confirmation from Alice, but part of him was still surprised by her acceptance.
"Sure," she confirmed for him. She suddenly winced as her eyes closed, a nervous chuckle leaving her as she tapped on the table. "I'm Y/N, by the way."
He smiled, the information already in his head, picked from the minds of the nosey students surrounding them. "It's wonderful to meet you, Y/N," he said.
In the back of his head, Alice was exclaiming something about being excited for what was coming. He glanced over his shoulder at her and rolled his eyes to shake his head, being sure that his new table buddy had not seen. He smiled back at her and nodded, "Sounds like a plan, then."

WALLOWING CLUB | E.C.

warnings: I got carried away. I'm in love with him. I'm sorry kjnfe

The Forks High School library was a very small little room in the heart of the school, barely visited by many students if any, but it was a little solace for you- you'd spend your breaks studying and snacking between the stacks, hardly ever hearing the school bell until Laura, the lovely old librarian would call you out from your hiding place to return to the war grounds of small-town high school hallways.
You'd been studying hard this term, with senior year approaching a torturous end, you'd been trying to work yourself either to death or to college, whichever came first, which is why receiving a bad grade right before a long weekend was the last thing you needed. You didn't allow yourself many breaks, it was a given that there wasn't time for that with how much you had to do, but you'd reached a silent agreement with yourself that you'd take the weekend off if your grades came back good enough, now it looked like you'd booked yourself another date with your desk and chemistry book. Since your weekend was booked, you allowed yourself a little time to breathe, to wallow in your sadness as you took another potato crisp into your mouth, looking up at the door as you waited for the other member of the wallowing club to join you.
Edward Cullen, your library friend, or so you'd dubbed him as you never spoke outside of these four book-pasted walls- he was very fond of a regular wallowing session himself, not that you thought he had all that much to wallow about being the talk of the school, and the town for that matter, but the club wasn't one you considered exclusive. You spoke very casually, which you assumed was something he wasn't all that used to, everyone approached him like he was some sort of deity, blessing them with his presence- you hardly blamed them, to be fair, he was ethereal in all the dept of the word, far too attractive for a school so dreadfully ordinary and you knew he was intelligent, in a way that ought to make you feel inferior had he not tried so very hard to do anything but that. You had no doubt that was he to have met you anywhere else, you'd have made a right fool of yourself, but he found you with your guard down, in your safe place, and as a result, you'd managed to ease into your crush on him, far too easily letting him charm you, but who were you to fight him on making you swoon.
"That's not a real meal," the smooth, intoxicating voice declared very calmly as he walked towards you, giving you a very knowing look of disapproval as he sat down next to you, porcelain hand sliding a plastic-wrapped sandwich onto your lap.
"Don't start with me, Cullen," you pouted, already handing him your half-eaten bag, not missing the way his eyes twinkled with amusement, a familiar notion of being around you, or so you'd learned after far too many lunch breaks spent alone together. "I've already had a day, don't want to have to argue with you about the very many nutritional benefits of potatoes, " you wouldn't dare bring that up, arguments always leaned in his favor and you knew he was right, humming in soft satisfaction at the first bite of the white bread sandwich.
"A day?" a simple demand for more, the way he looked you over, showing that he was clearly trying to determine whether this was a mundane-sized problem or an end-of-the-world-sized one, though he knew it was always the first.
"I got my test back," you admitted, covering your mouth with a hand to hide your next bite, chewing quickly as you reached into your bag to pull out the culprit. "Really thought I'd do better, to be honest," you felt shy, sharing was a rather new thing for you, especially sharing with him, he appeared all but perfect after all and he seemed to be good at everything, so admitting to your faults was strange, it was less embarrassing and more revealing, baring yourself to him, it made your talks real, more.
"You did your best, no?" he knew you did, also knew how hard you studied, how he couldn't read anything but useless facts from your head for weeks, very rudely robbing him of the advantage he had over you, not that he used it often- his gift. But you were an odd soul to read, never showing him what you felt, never telling him what you thought, it was both infuriating and exciting, trying to figure you out. You nodded lightly, though he knew what it meant, knew the solemn gesture was you doubting the worth of your best, because if your best led you to have that sad, yet admittedly adorable pout on your lips then it surely wasn't what you had hoped for.
"I can't wait for this year to be over," you were tucking your lunch away, appetite lost at the side of the red letter adorning your answer sheet, haunting you, taunting you.
"I can," he retorted and scoffed lightly at the obvious disapproval of his words, shrugging as he brought a hand up to brush a crumb from your cheek, not missing the way your skin warmed under his touch, heart stammering, it made him want to do it again, made him want to do more, figure out how else your body could react to such simple, innocent gestures. "I would miss our hidden conversations," he explained and you rolled your eyes, only to hide the smile your lips begged to show him.
"You would not," you dared and turned your back away from the bookshelf behind you, looking at him with legs folded and hands fiddling with the plastic bag. "All we ever do is wallow and groan, we're like two very old people waiting for death," you were smiling, knowing he'd enjoyed your subtle references to doom and gloom, but he couldn't quite decide which he enjoyed more, the sound of the smile distorting your words of the way your eyes thinned slightly when you did, a beautiful sight.
"Exactly, who else would I do that with?" he was smiling as well and you were grateful you were sitting because it was the type of rare expression that had your knees weak.
"Oh, I'm sure you'd find many willing volunteers."
"None of them would be good enough, only you can make the darkness sound so welcoming," you had no idea what hidden symbolism the man was talking about but still you were reeling, he had to know that people don't just say things like that without absolutely ruining your resting heartbeat, in fact, it was rude, making you fall so mercilessly for him without the slightest possibility of him falling back, or so you thought. "You know," he began, "Chemistry is one of my best subjects."
"I know, Edward, you're nothing short of a genius, no need to kick a girl while she's down," he breathed a soft laugh, nudging you lightly with his leg.
"What I mean, is that I could help you study for the next test, make sure you wallow a little less next week," he knew you'd need some convincing but the bell was about to ring, he'd very pathetically been counting the minutes he had left with you and they were very few now. "Don't make me debate you into saying yes," he was picking up your things, standing with them in a sort of awkward, yet anything but, linger as he waited for you to stand as well. "You'll say yes, I'll act coy, it'll be much less of a task for the both of us if you just agree to meet me here tomorrow morning."
"You're a little arrogant, do you know that?" you mused, accepting his icy hand as it guided you from the floor, one by one stuffing your belongings into your bag, leaving his now empty hands to find rest in his pockets.
"I do," he agreed and smiled at you, looking down with eyes so golden it almost entranced you, as you lifted a brow at him. "So, I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Can we bring snacks?"
"You can, I'll bring you food."
"You're starting with me again, Cullen," and it was the laugh, the absolutely cruel laugh that he offered you as he walked you out of the library that made you think that maybe wallowing wasn't the only thing your friendship was good for.

fic where y/n and edward have been lovers since before he turned into a vampire? and when Bella comes along have an argument about both of them being each other’s mate. “She may be your blood singer, but I’m your mate! I’ve been there for you since the beginning!” Ending up in y/n leaving, and not talking to Edward and eventually him regretting choosing, Bella. Cause even though Bella’s blood sings to him, and is driving him to his urges to drink her blood. But y/n has been there since the beginning before they were turned, and always stayed by his side.
Ok I’m going to make a vampire as well just so the timeline makes sense. But both and edward met when human and were turned around the same time but by different people.
this is going to break my heart to write but here we go
Decision Making
Edward Cullen x reader (formerly) Edward x Bella
Warnings: ANGSTTTT
ORIGINAL IDEA FROM: @writing-fanics !!!
_________________________________________
Tumblr media
“Are you really going to miss prom Y/n?” Edward, your boyfriend (in secret), asked you. “We’ve been over this Edward! My parents said I wasn’t allowed to go with a boy and its a waste of time anyways. I don’t want to risk it.”
“Would you go if I promised they wouldn’t find out?”
“How could you even do that?” A wicked grin grew on his face, “Just trust me.”
You knew that look meant trouble, but that didn’t stop you from agreeing to his ridiculous idea. You took a deep breath and said, “This once Edward.” His smile made your heart flutter.
“I’ll pick you up at 7pm.”
“You know you can’t park outside the house right? My parents will definitely be notified.”
“I never said anything about a car, Y/n. Just keep your window open a crack for me like always.”
“You’re a nut case,” you giggled.
“This nut case will still be there for his beautiful date,” He finished before exiting the library. You really were lucky he was yours.
~~~
Cloudy memories of your past human life flooded over you as you saw the face of your timeless lover. Whom you could have sworn had died from Spanish flu nearly 100 years ago. But no, here Edward was, your Edward. After all this time, you both meet again.
You had recently escaped your cult of a coven. You didn’t know where you were headed when you began running just following a string until you found the other end. And you saw the other side finally, him.
What was he doing at a high school? You thought as you watched him by his car. He appeared to be waiting for someone, was he waiting for you? Did he feel it too?
He must have because not long after you saw him, he turned around and looked directly at you. He didn’t have the face you were expecting. Instead of excitement or even a mark of joy he looked troubled. He must be confused as to why he feels drawn to you as you do to him, You reasoned.
You took a step towards him and his stare didn’t falter. As you got closer you noticed him begin to slip into a fighting stance. Why would he fight you? Did he not recognize you?
As you took a step into the parking lot the bell within the school rang and students came from the doors. You didn’t leave his gaze no matter who walked by or tried to talk to him. Once you stood a few feet away he said, “What do you want?” Venom laced into his words. Did he not feel it? He had to. There wasn’t a way to miss it.
“What do you mean? Don’t you remember me?” You genuinely asked him. You couldn’t help the hurt bleeding into your voice.
“Why are you here, Y/n?” Edward asked you in the same cold tone. Where did this bitterness come from? You didn’t remember everything from your human life but, you definitely don’t remember doing anything to deserve this.
Before you could respond you smelled it. You didn't realize you showed the fact you had noticed it's scent. But you gained the realization when Edward gave you a predatory glare. "What is-"
"Who's this?" She asked.
"Get in the car, Bella," Edward told her, her stare never leaving from me.
"Who is that?" I ask him, though she smelled amazing, I already had a serving on the way over here. I wasn't necessarily thirsting.
"You don't need to know."
As pathetic as it sounded to say it, you had to ask, "Do you not remember me..?"
"I do." But his face looks as if he wishes he didn't. I must have done something horrid and blocked it out from memory. Did he manage to break off the bond? Was he fighting back the truth? Am I being delusional?
"Leave, Y/n," Edward finished as he began to go back to his car. Overwhelmed with feeling, I ran. I didn't stop running. I couldn't. How could he be this way? What did I do? Who was she..?
~~~
I could not leave Forks. No matter how many times I tried, I could make it to the city line and then found myself turning back around. I needed an answer from him.
His scent was easy to track, Edward is smart, he left of trace of himself on purpose. Even if he didn't, I'm following it.
Upon arriving on what appeared to be his residence, I didn't need to open the door, Dr. Cullen had opened it for me. "Come in, Y/n," was all he said. To this day it still baffled me how many of us there were. Dr. Cullen was always there for Edward when the flu got worse, it strange to see him looking the exact same. She wasn't here, I couldn't smell her at least. "Edward is upstairs. And I apologize for any hostility."
"Thank you, Dr. Cullen."
"Carlisle please," I just nodded and walked upstairs. I followed Edwards scent to his room, and there he was, back facing me.
"Why are you here?" He asked again.
"I recently escaped my past coven and ran. I wasn't going to anywhere specific, just running. And then I picked up on your scent and followed it hoping to see... an old friend." You hesitated on what to call him since it had been so long and he wasn't exactly behaving like a partner. "I wanted to see you again after all this time, and maybe even..."
"Rekindle something that's ancient," He said coolly. My expression confirmed his words and he took in an unneeded breath before saying, "I have moved on, Y/n. It is beyond time you do the same."
"Is she your blood singer?" You asked him in a defeated tone.
He adjusted his jaw, stare growing predatory yet again, "She isn't your concern."
"So yes. Edward," you took a pause, "do you not feel anything?"
"I do. But for the better of us, I am ignoring it," his words sliced through you.
"Edward," you took a painful breath, "She may be your blood singer, but I am your mate! I have been there since the beginning. You didn't sneak into her house to take her to prom! She wasn't in the library for hours with you though her parents hated it! She wasn't the one who became your friend in secondary school though told to leave you alone! Dammit she didn't contract Spanish flu from always being at your bedside did she?!" Though no tears flowed from your eyes the pain was just as present.
"Y/n-"
"Save it! I'm sorry she means so much more Edward. I really am," you finished before speeding downstairs out the door Carlisle had opened once again for you.
~~~
Years upon years passed. Edward's realization of his mistake hitting. But you were no where to be found for an apology. He now had to live the rest of eternity never fully satisfied. And now even worse, he had no way to right the wrong.
Drowning Deeper
This has been sitting in my drafts for over a year. It’s now been released into the wild. Enjoy.
Tumblr media
When you were a kid you thought you could do anything and then you grew up and reality had hit you like a ton of bricks. When bad things happened to you you weren’t even surprised anymore and you learned to just accept the hell that became of your life. You were drowning in your own pit of despair but you found a way to numb the pain. You spent the majority of your mental energy imagining that you were somewhere else, in a world where everything was alien to what you currently called home. It was the opposite of your mundane and tragic life. In your imagination you imagined a life for yourself that was exciting and dangerous. You imagined a man that was supernaturally beautiful and romantic to a fault, yet he was psychotic and potentially dangerous. You couldn’t have romance in real life and so even in your daydreams you didn’t want a regular love. You could feel loved but didn’t have to feel guilty for dreaming of romance. This love was dark and sad but also forbidden and intense. You created a man that was deceptively handsome but somehow even more fucked up than you were. He was melancholic and self loathing. Yet he had hope to live a better life, a life with you. You never experience love In-Real-Life, the truth was that you were a total otaku-hikikomori who rarely even left their house. Love itself was a forbidden concept to you and that’s probably why it was so sweet to daydream about. The potential ideal love that felt like a warm blanket for you to safely crawl into after a lonely day. To you, Edward was as real as he was in your imagination.
Normal people get married and have kids. It was hard to even imagine yourself going on a date, if you even had the guts to show up. Were you actually supposed to smile and make conversation? Hold hands or even kiss? The thought instantly made you cringe. It pained you to even think about acting all cutesy or flirtatious. Edward would push you away if you tried any of that with him. The idea oddly made you feel better. It’s not that he doesn’t like you it’s just that he doesn’t want to kill you. You liked the idea of getting as close as you could to love without actually taking responsibility for and suffering from the consequences. So your daydreams continued like this as you harbored strange and perverse thoughts of the dynamics of a vampire and human relationship.
Robert Pattinson’s Villainous Characters
My article on The Batman wouldn’t have been made if not for Robert Pattinson’s dark portrayal of Bruce Wayne, as if he was still playing the angsty and peculiar Edward Cullen.
I am going to write many many more articles on the psychology of the characters Mr. Pattinson has played. His characters are all villainous and absurd, its such a delight to explore the inner workings of their minds.
Tumblr media
If you can think of any roles he’s played that are like villains, comment below. I’ll pretend that i don’t already know every single one. No, it’s just that i might write the articles based on who comments first, so that is why.
Forever Yours || Paul Lahote
Summary: Request -Okay so reader is Bella's (fraternal) twin sissy. She moved to Forks with Bella and the whole first book happens WITHOUT her knowing what's going on. She's just as in the dark as Charlie is..... Read Rest Here
A/N: LOVED THIS. LOVE TWILIGHT. Keep them coming!! Thank you for the requests as always!
Pairing: Paul Lahote x Swan Sister Reader
Word Count: 4.0k
TW: Possessiveness
Tumblr media
You and your sister, Bella, had always gotten along well even being so different. She was the shy twin who always stood behind you. You on the other hand always fought Bella’s battles because she needed it, that’s what sisters were for. The two of you weren’t identical, and your personalities could not have been more different. Yet, at the end of the day, she was the person you knew would always understand you. She was your best friend and confidant. So, when she proposed moving back in with Charlie you followed along with her.
Things changed when the two of you moved to Forks and not in a way you liked. She began distancing herself from you after she met Edward. Instead of coming home and gossiping about your respective days she started going to the Cullen’s house. She stopped telling you things. She became protective and oh so secretive over her boyfriend. You confided in Charlie more than you could ever expect. You hung out with Jessica and Angela more than you would’ve ever dreamed. Still, you looked after your sister. She was the shy one who fell hard and fast. For whatever reason you just couldn’t seem to trust Edward. When she finally let the two of you meet he was just off and you couldn’t seem to pinpoint what it was.
It wasn't until the departure of Edward Cullen, leaving Bella desolate and shattered, that the mysterious shroud enveloping your lives began to unravel at a rapid pace. As Bella struggled to navigate through the abyss of heartbreak, you tried your hardest to be the strength that she needed. But it often felt like you were failing her. Like nothing you could say would offset any of the heartbreak she was feeling. And you were angry. Angry at the stupid family that decided to vanish without a trace. For even though Edward seemed off he seemed like he truly was deeply in love with your sister.
Your only saving grace was your old friend Jacob. He found a way to bring your shattered twin back to the surface of the water she was struggling to swim in. The three of you spent so many nights together doing everything and nothing at the same time. Laughing till your faces were blue and finding the human connection she so desperately needed. You could never thank him enough for bringing back your sister you had lost for so many months.
But even that wasn’t enough for him to leave. When Jacob withdrew from both of your lives you became the sad twin. It was Bella who became angry like you were so many months prior. Bella forced you in the truck one afternoon claiming she had a bone to pick with the second boy who abandoned her in so many months. You had no desire to see the boy, but Bella demanded you come with her.
You watched as she pounded on the door of his home only to be met with nothing. You waited in the truck as Bella noticed Sam and his pack off to the side of Jacob’s home. Her footsteps treaded the path towards Sam and his pack, heart pounding with a mixture of apprehension and anticipation. It was only when you saw her physically push Sam, the leader of the tribe, did you bolt out of the car trying to catch your sister from doing anything too drastic.
"Bella, stop!" you cried out, your voice tinged with desperation as you rushed forward. Your heart was hammering desperately in your chest, a whirlwind of emotions swirling within you as you reached out towards Bella, hoping to stop the impending confrontation.
But it was too late. Bella's palm has already met one of the dark-haired boys cheeks with a sharp crack, the sound reverberating through the trees. You watch in dismay as the man’s expression darkened. His features contorted with fury, a primal growl rumbling in his chest that even startled you. The forest seemed to hold its breath as the world became silent at what the next move of the man could possibly be. You gulped feeling the tension thick in the air.
And then, in the midst of the events that were unfolding. You looked to the men in front of you looking at each of them one by one before your eyes finally met the one who had just been slapped. His gaze locked onto yours, a fleeting moment of connection amidst the tumult that surrounded you. In that instant, everything seemed to crystallize, the world narrowing down to just the two of you even with all the people surrounding you.
Timed seemed to slow to an utter crawl. The world around you faded into insignificance as your attention was locked in on the man. A sharp gasp came from you as you continued staring right at him. It was a feeling you had never experienced in this lifetime. Something you could never have expected. He too couldn’t seem to break his gaze away from yours. In that fleeting instant, everything seems to shift. The air crackled with anticipation, the forest holding its breath as the weight of the moment bears down upon you. It's as if the universe itself has paused, allowing you and Paul to exist in a suspended state of existence, isolated from the disorder that rages beyond the confines of your shared gaze.
As Paul staggers backwards, a whirlwind of emotions courses through his mind, each feeling vying for dominance over the others. Anger, once burning bright within him, now dissipates like mist in the morning sun, leaving behind a hollow sense of bewilderment and wonder. His chest heaves with the effort of controlling the torrent of feelings threatening to overwhelm him. He had felt every single emotion. Saw every single emotion. You were her. You were his imprint. Only Sam had been so lucky to have found his person. And now Paul did. And he didn’t even know her name nor you his.
To your surprise you felt your feet moving forward as he dropped to his knees on the forest floor. Paul was acutely aware of the weight of this moment. He had to wonder what you were feeling. You too were locked in on his own eyes, yet you could have no idea what was going on and how chaotic your seemingly normal life was about to get. But amidst the heaviness of the moment, there is something else—a glimmer of hope, a spark of possibility that ignites within him like a flame in the darkness. For in your eyes, he sees not just a reflection of his own turmoil, but also a flicker of understanding, a shared recognition of the bond that now binds the two of you together.
"What... what just happened?" Bella's voice wavers, her eyes wide with disbelief as she looks between you and Paul. But you have no answers to offer, you were just as confused as she was. While Bella's voice wavers with disbelief, her eyes dart between you, Paul, and the surrounding men, searching for answers amidst the bewildering scene.
Embry, who had been standing nearby with Sam, catches your eye with a knowing smirk, a hint of understanding dancing in his gaze. He stepped forward, as if he's seen this scenario play out before. "Looks like we've got ourselves an imprint," Embry remarks, his voice tinged with amusement as he addresses Sam, who watches the unfolding scene with a composed yet cautious demeanor.
Sam nods in acknowledgment, his expression unreadable as he assesses the situation before him. His eyes shifted between you and Paul with a measured intensity, as if gauging the depth of the bond that now connects you.
Meanwhile, the boy you had originally came to see, Jacob, came sprinting out of the house that he had just ignored Bella from. His expression a mix of surprise and concern as he takes in the scene before him. His eyes narrow as they settle on Paul, a flicker of protectiveness crossing his features before he turns to you, his look softening with understanding in your utter confusion. Yet in all that was happening so fast you couldn’t seem to tear your eyes away from this man. He had captured your mind, body, and soul all within a single look.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Jacob asks, his voice gentle yet tinged with worry as he approaches, his footsteps echoing against the damp grass.
You finally tore your gaze away from Paul somehow, your heart racing as you meet Jacob's concerned gaze. Despite the frenzy that surrounds you, his presence offers a sense of comfort, a reminder of the unwavering support that has always been there for you, negating the two weeks he had decided to ignore you for.
"I don't know what happened," you admit, your voice barely above a whisper as you try to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions that flowed through you so unexpectedly. "But I feel... different."
Bella's eyes widen in disbelief, her mind racing to comprehend the incomprehensible. But amidst the uncertainty that envelops you all, one thing remains clear—the ties that bind you to Paul, are unbreakable, defying logic and reason with an undeniable force.
"Jacob," Sam's voice cuts through the silence, his tone firm yet tinged with a hint of urgency. "Take them to Emily's. We need to talk." He motions towards Paul who was still on his knees before you.
Jacob nods in acknowledgment, his gaze flickering between you, Paul, and Sam, a silent understanding passing between them. He moves forward, his hand reaching out to gently guide you away from Paul, his touch reassuring in the confusion that surrounds you.
"Come on, Y/N, Bella," Jacob murmurs softly, "Let's go."
As Jacob reaches out to guide you away from Paul, a low, guttural growl rumbles deep within Paul's chest just as it had earlier after Bella has slapped him. His possessiveness flaring in the face of Jacob's touch. His eyes narrow, a primal instinct driving him to protect what he now considers his own.
"Hands off my girl," Paul's voice is low, but the irritated edge to it is unmistakable as he stands to takes a step towards you. His eyes never left yours. The intensity of his declaration sends a shiver down your spine, his unwavering stare holding you in a trance.
But Sam, ever the voice of reason among the sea of emotions, steps forward with a measured stride. His expression unwavering as he addresses Paul with a firm yet understanding tone. “Paul, calm down," Sam's voice carries authority, tempered with a hint of empathy as he meets Paul's frustration head-on. "We need to talk, separately. She will be just fine with Jacob."
Paul's protest is immediate, his feelings for you overwhelmingly strong. "No, she's not going anywhere without me," he insists, his voice tinged with desperation as he takes a defiant step forward, his resolve unyielding.
But Sam's gaze holds steady, his alpha like authority asserting itself in the face of Paul's defiance. "Paul, stand down," he commands, his voice brooking no argument as he meets Paul's gaze with unwavering determination. Paul winces but gives into Sam’s demands, though the reluctance is evident in the tension that lingers in his frame. His eyes remain locked on you, a silent promise of protection and devotion burning brightly within their depths.
While Jacob leads you away from Paul you can't help but feel torn between the conflicting desires that rage within you. Part of you longs to stay by Paul's side, to bask in the warmth of his unwavering love. While another part recognizes the need for clarity and understanding in the sheer confusion that threatens to consume you. And as you and Bella follow Jacob through the dense undergrowth of the forest you can't shake the feeling of Paul's presence lingering at the edges of your consciousness, a constant reminder of the inexplicable bond that now defines your existence.
Jacob guides you and Bella through a trail in the forest, a heavy silence hangs in the air, punctuated only by the rustling of leaves and the distant calls of unseen creatures. Sensing the need to break the tension, Jacob takes a deep breath before breaking the uncomfortable silence. "Look, I need to tell you both something," Jacob begins, his voice cautious yet resolute. "But it's going to sound... well, it's going to sound crazy."
You and Bella exchange a puzzled glance, the weight of Jacob's words settling uneasily in the pit of your stomachs. You've both sensed that there's more to the Quileute tribe than meets the eye, but the truth remains shrouded in mystery.
Jacob takes a moment to gather his thoughts before coming out with it. "The thing is... we're not exactly... normal," he admits, his words halting as he struggles to find the right way to explain the inexplicable. "We're... werewolves."
The revelation hangs in the air like a heavy fog, enveloping you and Bella in a cloud of disbelief. For a moment, neither of you can find the words to respond, the enormity of Jacob's confession leaving you speechless. "Werewolves?" Bella's voice is barely above a whisper, her eyes wide with shock as she looks to Jacob for confirmation.
Jacob nods solemnly, his expression grave as he meets Bella's gaze. "Yes. And there's something else. Something called imprinting."
You nodded along, “That’s what the one guy just said. We’ve got ourselves an imprint? What is that?” You asked pressing him further.
Jacob smiled knowing that your life was going to change, hopefully for the better. "It's when a wolf finds their soulmate. Their other half. The one person they're meant to be with for the rest of their lives." Bella's brow furrows in confusion, her mind struggling to comprehend the magnitude of what Jacob is telling her. But you, on the other hand, feel a strange sense of recognition stir within you, a faint echo of the inexplicable connection you felt with Paul.
As Bella sighs with uncertainty, Jacob senses the weight of her confusion and seeks to provide clarity. "And... and what does that have to do with what happened back there?" Bella asks, her voice laden with hesitance as she gestures back in the direction of Paul and the pack.
Jacob's gaze flickers towards you, a silent acknowledgment passing between you as he prepares to reveal the truth. "It means that... Paul imprinted on you, Y/N," he explains gently, his eyes filled with compassion as he meets your bewildered gaze. "He's your soulmate."
“Paul.” You whispered his name out loud for the first time. Paul, your soulmate. Your heart skips a beat at the revelation, the words sinking in slowly as you struggle to comprehend the enormity of what Jacob is saying. Soulmates? It's a concept you never thought you'd entertain, let alone experience firsthand.
"Soulmate?" Bella's voice echoes your thoughts, her eyes widening in astonishment as she turns to you for confirmation.
You nod slowly, the reality of the situation beginning to sink in. "I... I don't understand it all," you murmur, your voice barely above a whisper as you grapple with the implications of Jacob's words as the three of you walked through the forest to what you assumed to be Emily’s place, whomever that was.
Jacob offers you a reassuring smile, his expression filled with understanding. "It's okay, Y/N. I know it's a lot to take in," he says softly, his tone gentle yet firm. "An imprint is... it's like finding your other half. Your perfect match. And for Paul, that's you."
Bella's eyes widen in realization, her mind racing to process the revelation. "So... he's bound to her? Like... forever?" she asks, her voice tinged with uncertainty as she seeks to grasp the intricacies of the imprinting process.
Jacob nods solemnly. "Yeah. It's a permanent bond," he explains, his tone heavy with the weight of the truth. "But it doesn't have to be romantic. It can be... it can be like a best friend too. Someone who's always there for you, no matter what."
The realization washes over you like a tidal wave, the enormity of the situation sinking in as you come to terms with the truth of Paul's imprint. It's a bond that transcends the boundaries of time and space, forging a connection between two souls that can never be broken.
And as you walked surrounded by the whispering of the trees and the steady presence of Jacob by your side, you find yourself beginning to accept the truth of your newfound destiny. The road ahead may be filled with uncertainty, but with the unwavering support of your sister and the friendship of Jacob, you know that you'll face whatever challenges may come your way head-on.
Tumblr media
As you, Bella, and Jacob step into Emily's cozy kitchen, the aroma of freshly baked muffins envelops you, a comforting contrast to the whirlwind of emotions swirling within. Emily's warm smile greets Jacob, her eyes alight with joy as she rushes forward to embrace him.
"Jacob, it's been too long!" Emily exclaims, her voice filled with genuine affection as she pulls back to look at him.
Jacob returns her embrace, offering a sheepish grin. "I know, Em. It's good to see you," he replies warmly.
Emily's gaze then shifts to you and Bella, her smile widening as she takes in your presence. "And who do we have here?" she asks, her tone friendly and inviting.
Jacob gestures towards you and Bella. "Emily, this is Y/N and Bella Swan," he introduces, a sense of pride evident in his voice. "They're new to town, and we thought I'd bring them by to meet you." He spoke referencing the pack as a whole. It was intriguing watching him operate now that you knew why he up and disappeared on you those weeks ago.
Emily's eyes widen with recognition as she looks at Bella. "Ah, the Swan sisters! Charlie's girls. I’ve heard a lot about you two," she remarks with a knowing nod. Then her gaze shifts to Bella, and her expression changes to one of surprise. "And you're the vampire girl, aren't you?"
Your heart nearly stops at Emily's words, the revelation hitting you like a sudden jolt. Vampire girl? You exchange a bewildered glance with Bella, who looks equally taken aback. Edward was a vampire? What next… mermaids?
"What? Bella? Vampires?" you stammer, your cheeks flushing with embarrassment as you struggle to comprehend Emily's words.
Bella's face turns crimson, her embarrassment palpable as she shoots you an apologetic glance. Her eyes told you that she would explain it all later. "Emily, I'm so sorry," she begins, her voice tinged with mortification. "Y/N, this is... um... kind of a long story."
As the truth about vampires and the supernatural world of Forks begins to unfold, you can't help but feel overwhelmed by the enormity of it all. But amidst the confusion and embarrassment, there's a sense of shared understanding that together you'll navigate the challenges that lie ahead. As the conversation continues in Emily's kitchen, laughter and chatter filling the air, the sound of approaching footsteps draws your attention. Sam, Paul, and Embry enter the room, their expressions relaxed and jovial as they exchange banter with Jacob.
"Hey, look who decided to join the party!" Jacob teases, a playful grin spreading across his face as he greets his packmates.
Sam chuckles, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "Couldn't stay away, could we?" he retorts, a hint of mischief in his voice as he exchanges friendly jabs with Jacob.
Paul's gaze finds yours amidst the commotion, a soft smile playing at the corners of his lips. "Y/N," he says, his voice gentle yet earnest as he steps forward, his eyes meeting yours with a depth of emotion that leaves you breathless.
"Paul," you reply, your voice barely above a whisper as you meet his gaze, a rush of anticipation coursing through you at the prospect of speaking with him alone.
Sensing the unspoken tension between you and Paul, Jacob steps forward with a knowing smile. "I'll leave you two to get to know each other," he says, his tone light yet meaningful as he gives you a subtle nod of encouragement.
As Jacob and the others retreat away from the kitchen to give you and Paul some privacy, you find yourselves alone in the midst of Emily's bustling kitchen. The air crackles with anticipation as Paul takes a step closer, his eyes searching yours with an intensity that sets your heart racing. "Y/N, I wanted to talk to you," Paul begins, his voice soft yet filled with determination as he gathers his thoughts. "About what happened earlier. About us. If that’s okay with you."
You swallow hard, the weight of Paul's words hanging heavy in the air as you search for the right response. "Paul, I... I don't even know where to begin," you admit, your voice trembling with uncertainty as you struggle to find the words to express the whirlwind of emotions that threaten to overwhelm you completely.
But Paul reaches out, his hand finding yours with a gentle touch that sends a shiver down your spine. "We'll figure it out together, Y/N," he says, his voice filled with conviction. "Whatever happens, I'll always be here for you. I promise you that."
As you stand there, enveloped in the warmth of Paul's presence, a soft blush tinges your cheeks as you struggle to find the right words to express the swirl of emotions coursing through you. Your heart races with anticipation, your thoughts a jumble of uncertainty and longing. "This is all a lot," you murmur softly, your voice barely above a whisper as you meet his gaze with a shy smile. "But it's a good thing you're so... so handsome." You weren’t sure where that surge of confidence came from, maybe it was the bond. But even you couldn’t deny the sheer beauty of the man that stood before you. You feel a rush of exhilaration mixed with nervousness, unsure of how Paul will respond to your flirty compliment.
Paul's expression shifts, a mischievous twinkle dancing in his eyes as he leans in closer, his breath warm against your ear. "Is that your way of saying you think I'm cute, Y/N?" he teases, his voice low and husky.
You bite your lip, a playful glint in your eyes as you meet his gaze. "Maybe," you reply coyly, a hint of flirtatiousness creeping into your tone as you lean in closer to him. "You'll just have to stick around to find out."
As a smirk tugs at the corners of Paul's lips, his gaze intensifies, locking onto yours with a magnetic pull that leaves you breathless. You feel a surge of anticipation coursing through your veins as he leans in even closer, the air crackling with electricity between you.
"Oh, I intend to, pretty girl" Paul murmurs, his voice a low rumble that sends shivers ripping through your body. His words are filled with promise, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he closes the distance between you, his breath warm against your skin. “Don’t you worry about that.”
A soft gasp escapes your lips as Paul's hand gently cups your cheek, his touch sending waves of warmth cascading through you. Your heart pounds in your chest as his lips brush against yours in a tantalizing whisper, a feather-light caress that ignites a fire deep within your soul.
"You're so beautiful, Y/N Swan," Paul whispers against your lips, his voice filled with sincerity and admiration. "I can't help but be drawn to you. I’m forever yours pretty girl."
The sweetness of his words sends your heart soaring, a rush of euphoria washing over you as you lose yourself in the intoxicating embrace of his affection. In that moment, all doubts and fears melt away, leaving only the undeniable connection between you and Paul, a bond forged in the flames of desire and longing. And as you surrender to the irresistible pull of his embrace, you can't help but feel a sense of bliss wash over you. With Paul by your side, you know that the journey ahead will be filled with laughter, passion, and endless moments of pure, unadulterated love.
The Incident - Paul Lahote x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
A little one shot that I just couldn't stop writing. A good angst to fluff (btw my fics will never be all angst, im too soft). Also do not fear, Im working on a Sam fic and part 3 to not letting you go. But you let ME know what you think of this one ❤️ 2K words
"My SISTER, Paul. She's my fucking SISTER!" you yelled, voice hoarse as your throat cracked.
"I could give a SHIT LESS WHAT SHE IS. YOU'RE. NOT. GOING." He screamed, jaw taut as he tried his best to subside the tremors that were threatening to take over his body.
You ignored the teeth he bared, shaking your head and scoffing.
"Aren't you tired of this?! I'm going over there. I HAVE to know she's safe."
"YOU SERIOUSLY THINK I'LL JUST SIT BY AND WATCH MY IMPRINT GO TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN'T PROTECT HER? WHAT ABOUT ME KNOWING THAT YOU'RE SAFE?? HUH?? YOU'RE SICK IF YOU THINK I WOULD BE OKAY WITH THIS!"
"Sick?!? SICK?!? LETS TALK ABOUT HOW 'SICK' IT IS THAT YOU WOULD WANT TO KILL HER AND THE BABY. THATS MY FAMILY PAUL!"
"AND WERE NOT?"
It had been like this for a week straight. Ever since the pack stormed through the door announcing their mission to kill Bella and the unborn child within her.
You felt as though your two families had been pinned against each other. Head spinning at the idea of there being a 'choice' between your sister and imprint.
On one hand you were desperate to make sure she was alright, but also exhausted at the never ending battle with your boyfriend.
Sure you had talked to Bella over the phone, but you didn't buy into the lies like your father had. Even though you knew significantly more than he did, she still attempted to downplay the situation. She had done this numerous times since getting thrown into the vampire world, but she could only keep you in the dark for so long before you unraveled the truth.
You had to see her. Even if it was the last time. By fate, or at the hands of the pack. You had to be there for her, as she would you.
Leaving your imprint though? Was at task challenging at best. On at least four different occasions you fought with Paul for so long that Emily and Sam had to intervene, prying you two apart at the pleads of other pack members.
Emily would console you while you ranted and Sam would make Paul run off his anger in the woods. When you faced him again, it turned into a rerun of the same argument. Nobody in the house had gotten sleep, and the things were progressively getting worse.
Quil came through the door, widening his eyes.
"Just a heads up everyone, a little comedic relief does not go over well. I saw my life flash before Paul's eyes." He huffed before sitting down.
"When is this going to be overrrr?" Embry whined. He shoved his head in his hands on the kitchen table while you and Paul went at it in the front yard.
Emily sighed.
"Unfortunately sooner than you think....Y/N packed her suitcase this morning." She said quietly.
"You're not really going to let her go over there are you?!?" Kim stood up, looking at both Emily and Sam.
"If you would like to stop her, please, be my guest." Sam motioned his hand to outside, where you and Paul could be seen through the window. You were throwing your arms up and pointing fingers at him, while his voice boomed loudly, towering his large frame over yours.
Kim winced.
You had always been the calm to Paul's raging storm. 'Made him all soft' as the guys would tease. None of them had actually seen you two disagree with each other. In the mind link they saw glimpses of minor arguments, most of the time being reconciled in the sheets..
Paul eventually got an order by Sam to think about something else while on patrol. 'Literally, anything else'.
"She's not going anywhere. I can count on my hand how many times they've been apart since he imprinted. They'll work it out eventually." Jared said as he pulled Kim on his lap, taking a hunk out of his apple.
Kim didn't share a look that she believed him, worriedly looking out to where you stood.
A few moments passed when her body stiffened and she gasped, making Jared look where she was.
"SHIT! SHIT!" He said, throwing Kim off his lap.
Sam turned to look out the window in time to see Paul phase, his sharp claw making contact with your skin. Your blood curdling scream instantly had everyone else off their seats, nearly knocking each other over to race outside.
You laid on the ground as your body wracked with sobs, clutching your side. Blood gushed through your hand as you started to panic, scrambling to stand. The large silver wolf only stood for a few moments before Paul shifted back, completely horrified as he frantically tried to reach you.
He felt his heart nearly rip out of his chest as you backpedaled into Emily, who was helping to hold you upright.
"NO! NO! GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME! IM DONE!" You cried.
Sam stood in the middle of the two of you.
Paul could feel his chest caving in, hand out, speaking more gently than he had at all in the past week.
"B-baby. Please. Please, I'm- I'm so sorry baby. Please let me just see-"
"NO! I'm done. I'm done. I'm leaving. I'm done." You repeated like a mantra, limping to the car.
"Y/N you cannot drive like this..." Emily attempted to say as she stepped in from behind you. She could see your anxiety was heightened, and afraid to set you off further.
"I have to go," you choked, on the verge of tears as you tried to open the drivers side. You had yet to even notice the gash in your side, adrenaline pumping wildly through your body.
Paul made his way around Sam, grabbing your other arm that was holding the door.
"You are crazy if you think I'm letting you leave like this. Please come-"
You yanked your arm from his grasp.
"Don't. Let me go!" You said coldly.
Paul froze. He couldn't move. You never spoke to him like this. Even in the numerous fights you two had this week.
Every single instinct in his body needed to help you. He knew you were downplaying your injuries. He knew he just royally fucked everything up. But the absolute last thing you could do was walk into a house full of vampires dripping in blood. Fucking doctor or not.
"Come inside and let me take a look at you, okay? Please." Emily said to coax you, frantically looking at your wound.
This made Sam follow her gaze, looking down to see the blood pouring from your side hadn't stopped, and you were growing paler by the minute.
"Y/N....you're going to stay here and I'll call Sue." He said in an authoritative voice, leaving no room to argue as he turned to start dialing the number.
You almost argued. You almost fought both of them on the subject. Your stubbornness almost won.
But you felt an immense pain. So strong you don't know how the hell you didn't notice it when you stood up.
That couldn't be good.
"....Y/N?" Paul said, barely above a whisper. Tears were now silently streaming down his face as he held both hands out slightly. Not close enough to touch you but to be prepared in case you fell.
You could feel yourself start to float in and out of consciousness. You tried to ground yourself by focusing on something. You looked at his hands that were outstretched.
Those hands that you held on your first date. The hands that hover your back anywhere you go. The hands that lift you up from the couch on movie nights to bring you to bed. The hands that move in just the right way when making love to you. The hands that were now shaking, not out of anger, but fear. You loved those hands.
"Y/N? Baby?" Paul said louder, more urgently as he could see you fading.
You watched him get blurry as the world started to spin.
"Paul," you murmured, before fading into darkness. The last thing you remember were the hands that caught you before you hit the ground.
"Y/N!!!" Paul screamed as he caught your body falling into him.
Sam ran back, telling him Sue was just up the street. He instructed Paul to carry you inside and onto the bed. The pack dispersed, each trying to find something to help you such as towels, an emergency kit and pillows.
Paul held you close as he lay you down, while repeatedly whispering in your ear.
"I'm so sorry baby. I'm so-so sorry. I cant lose you. Youre everything to me. I'll never yell at you again. I swear on my life. You can do whatever you want. I'll do whatever you want. Please, I love you." Paul pressed kisses to your hairline when Sue and her nurse friend entered.
Jared reluctantly came in behind them to lead Paul out of the room as they worked.
"Come on man, she'll wake up soon I promise."
After he was guided out, Paul slid down to sit on the other side of the door, refusing to move. Jared didn't push it, leaning down to sit next to him.
"Sue's seen this kind of stuff before. Just needs stitching up and stuff," Jared reassured as he put his hand on Paul's shoulder.
"It's not the injuries I'm worried about. So much as what she'll think of me when she wakes up. I....I fucked this one up, Jare."
"If Emily can forgive Sam, I think Y/N will forgive you. She's crazy about your ass."
Paul just nodded, praying he was right.
~
Your eyes fluttered open slowly as you woke. You looked around to see that you had been bandaged up along your left side, an IV attached to your arm sat close by. You attempted to sit up, whining when the pain wouldn't allow it. Within a few minutes Emily entered, her face showing relief.
"You're up! How are you feeling?" She checked the IV before sitting on the edge of the bed, careful of your body.
"Sore...where's, where's Paul?" Your heart ached as you started to replay what happened. There was no doubt in your mind what happened was an accident. You had seen the signs he always warned you about, and chose to ignore them in the heat of the argument. Not only that, but the look on his face when you had refused him was too much to bare.
Emily smiled, not expecting you to want to see him so soon.
"He's just outside the door. Hasn't moved. He didn't know if you'd want to see him..."
"I need to talk to him."
It hadn't even been a few seconds when Paul stood at the door. He looked more out of shape than you did. The disheveled hair and dark circles under his eyes told you he hadn't slept in days.
"I'll give you two some space. Just holler if you need anything," Emily spoke as she stood up, making her way around him and down the stairs.
Paul remained where he stood,
"If you don't want to be with me I understand. I have no words for my actions other than I am so...." he cleared his throat, trying not to cry. "So incredibly sorry I put you through this. I put you in danger when I was trying to keep you out of it. You don't have to stay I-"
"Paul please just kiss me." You interrupted, not wanting to hear the rest as you already made up your mind in forgiving him.
He stood for just a moment longer, trying to comprehend if he heard you correctly. It was when you weakly opened your arms for him that he wasted no time in rushing over to you, cupping your face and gently yet passionately kissed you with everything he had. Tears flowed his cheeks at the relief that you still wanted him. Even after everything he had put you through.
You two pulled back for air after a moment, and you ran your hand through his hair.
"I forgive you, okay? I can't imagine my life without you."
He let out a breath, smiling for the first time in weeks.
"It will never happen again. I swear on my fucking life baby." He caressed your hair, neck, landing his palm on your heart.
You two sat like that for awhile. Almost scared to leave each other's presence. You two talked for hours on the bed. Paul had confessed that the night before, while you were sleeping, the pack had fought with the Cullens. You learned that Paul refused to go, not wanting to leave your side. You were grateful to hear that Sam didn't push on him being there, knowing you were all that mattered to him, and he'd refuse him if he had too. Even if it went against his every instinct as a wolf. Turns out that Jacob had imprinted on your niece, and Bella had survived, now as a vampire.
You weren't particularly thrilled your sister was now a bloodsucker, but as long as she was alive, you were happy.
Paul eventually made his way to the other side of the bed, kissing every exposed inch of you, whispering all the things he loved about you in your ear until you fell asleep.
When your heartbeat slowed down and he was sure you were out, he reached down and felt the velvet box in his pocket. No doubt in his mind about the future you both held.
edward cullen x fem!reader |edward sneaks into your bedroom like always. but this time, you ask him to hold you|
Tumblr media
your body is tense as you curl around your woven sheets, the sudden cool air settling in the room as the corner of your mattress dips
you feel his heavy hand trace over your leg and you couldn't help the smile that was pulled from your lips
you turn over to see him and his golden eyes seem to soften as your arms open wide for him
"come and hold me, please"
he nods and you notice how his chest stops moving as he moves on top of the blanket, pulling your warm body to his cold one
you dig your nose into the sheets as his hands reaches over your body to hold yours, thumb brushing against your palm softly, putting you into a trance
the wind that drifts from the open window isn't nearly as cold as your boyfriend, but the goosebumps that lay upon your skin tingle with each stroke from him, igniting your insides from his love.
your body goes limp and your eyes roll back as sleep completely takes you, as relaxed as can be while he watches you fondly.
summary: late-night visits from your definitely human boyfriend
pairings: edward cullen x fem!reader
word count: 1.6k (approximately 7 minutes reading time)
a/n:  I’ve had this baby marinating in my drafts since January, when I was going through my bi-annual Twilight Renaissance. I was actually in the middle of writing a RE2R Leon Kennedy fic today and decided to put on a twilight playlist, and then I just knew I had to finish this one. It’s my first *published* non-RDR fic heehee (I have so much in my drafts, it’s insane). Anyways, enjoy (pardners)!
It’s that dreadful time of year again.
The sun is making its curtain call as students from the nearby elementary school trip over themselves running home. Little girls and boys have sticky remnants of lunch peeking from the corners of their mouths and the grass is still slick from morning showers. But dusk is impatient in February, and its eagerness is encouraged in a town hidden beneath perpetual overcast nine months out of the year.
The school children ran past her window minutes ago when the sky had been painted brilliant indigo. Now, when she looks up the only thing left to see is her own dark reflection and the warm orange glow from a candle on the sill. Its tall flame stutters, collapsing and rising with the damp breeze.
A page turns, disrupting the otherwise quiet room. The only other noise that can be heard is a soft pitter of water dripping onto the floorboards from a coat hanging off the closet door.
She reaches for a mug sitting on the corner of her nightstand and promptly sets it back down upon finding it empty. It returns to its spot atop crumpled receipts and library hold slips belonging to the growing stack of books accumulating dust at her bedside. These books tower over the permanent nightstand residents: lazily discarded beaded necklaces, a sample bottle of floral perfume from Christmas, two little ceramic bunnies purchased from an antique mall in Port Angeles last summer, car keys, and drugstore chapstick. It might be worth convincing her to let go of some of these post-object permanence discoveries, but that is a matter for another time.
In a desperate attempt to comprehend the words she’s reading, she rolls onto her back and extends her arms straight in the air so the book hovers a foot from her face—a change of perspective to freshen the mind.
It does not help.
No matter how much she shifts or squints, the antiquated prose remains stubbornly uninviting. She can’t fathom why anyone would willingly subject themselves to something so archaic and convoluted and furthermore, recommend it as one of their favorite novels.
With a huff, she adjusts the headphones at her ears, hoping the music will clear her mind. But despite her best efforts, the book slowly drifts closer to her chest and her eyelids grow heavier as the music lulls her into a dreamless sleep.
When she wakes to cold fingers grazing her jaw it’s impossible to tell whether she’d fallen asleep or if she just blinked. The weight of the headphones gently disappears as they’re pulled off and set down on the nightstand. She grumbles incoherently and stretches out her legs, not unlike a cat after a long, difficult day of lounging around. Her eyes begrudgingly flutter open and immediately find him only inches away. He’s watching her, peering down with a twinkle in his amber-colored eyes.
“Edward…” she whispers.
“Dracula,” he says, eyebrows raised as he makes the observation. “I thought you didn’t like Gothics.”
She reaches a finger into the book on her chest and folds the page over before tossing it carelessly into the sea of knitted and quilted blankets at the foot of the bed. With the haze of sleep still clouding her eyes, she smiles sheepishly up at him.
“I’m trying.”
He chuckles lightly and brings his hand to her hair again, brushing stray strands off her forehead and tucking them behind her ears before leaning down to place a chaste kiss above her eyes. Though his lips are soft, the icy touch of his skin sends a shiver down her spine. He’s always cold; a result of his anemia, he says. However, the downpour that's dampened his hair and clothes to his skin has chilled him even more so.
In an effort to sit up, she raises herself onto her elbows and catches a glimpse of the bright red digital numbers on her bedside clock.
“You’re late, you know,” she chides, watching him settle uncomfortably at the head of the bed. He sinks down among the pillows, their plushness contrasting humorously with the stiffness of his demeanor. He reaches behind his back and tugs free a stuffed rabbit lodged between him and the headboard, then sets it down softly beside himself.
“I had to make a quick stop. I hope you can forgive me,” he says in a hushed voice, so as not to make too much noise in the resting house. His eyes flit towards the nightstand and she follows them to see a new item sitting amongst the disorder. A tall styrofoam cup with steam rising thinly from the lid. Coffee.
The mug she just finished sits right beside it. She’d considered brewing more but that was before being rendered unconscious by Bram Stoker nearly an hour ago. Her heart swells at his thoughtfulness, but a more pressing question comes to mind before she can voice her gratitude.
“How did you even climb up here with that?” She asks, reaching for the cup with both hands.
“I’m very…agile.” There’s a look in his eyes that tells her there’s more to it, but she chooses to ignore it for now with a shake of her head.
The taste is immediately harsh, significantly more bitter than how she makes it herself. Any trace of a smile dissipates and is replaced with a pronounced look of disgust.
“Good God, Edward,” she exclaims. “Decaf? What did I ever do to you?”
He laughs and takes it from her hands, leaving her still reeling from the unexpected taste. “As much as I love staying up with you, you need sleep,” he says, a hint of sternness in his voice. “You didn’t get any last night and you don’t hide it well.”
He says the last part sweetly, tilting his head to the side and following her motions with his eyes, watching her pick up the stuffed rabbit by its cotton paw.
“Don’t hide it well?” She repeats, the indignation in her voice contrasting with the softness of the toy as she raises it high into the air and brings it down against his chest with a soft thud. “Well maybe I wouldn’t have to hide anything if you—weren’t—keeping—me—up—all—night!”
With every word, the rabbit hits his forearms poorly attempting to shield himself from the blows. Edward grins as she attacks him, the soft toy barely making a sound against his arms. He watches as her hair falls across her face in the midst of the unrelenting attack, the warm glow of the candle casting a soft halo around her.
But then, his amusement fades as he sees the exhaustion in her eyes.
He gently takes the rabbit from her and sets it aside before grabbing her arm mid-swing and pulling her into his chest. She sighs heavily and surrenders, relaxing against him. "I’m sorry," he whispers, his lips brushing against her hair. “I’ll let you rest tonight.”
Despite his tender words, a residual half-baked frustration lingers inside her. “How did you manage to stay awake in class?” she mumbles into his sweater, the words muffled. “I mean, you didn’t get any sleep either.”
He chuckles, as if privy to some inside joke.
“Well, someone had to take your notes for you,” he says, his fingers trailing through her hair in a soothing motion. “And besides, you looked so peaceful drooling away.”
She looks up at him, a hint of a drowsy smile playing at the corners of her lips. “I did not drool,” she insists.
He grins down at her, his eyes alight with fondness. “Of course not.”
She groans and buries her head into his chest, to which he responds by encircling his arms around her waist and pulling her closer.
“I’m never falling asleep in front of you again,” she grumbles.
His chest rumbles beneath her cheek as he laughs. “Alright, angel.”
He shifts his hand from the crown of her head to the curve of her back, tracing languid circles over the fabric of her t-shirt as the room fills with a comfortable silence. The rain outside grows heavier, tapping against the glass with a more insistent force. Her body is warm against his and he can feel the steady thumping of her heartbeat as if it's his own. A few minutes slip by, and he senses her breathing even out and deepen. Without disturbing her, he reaches for a nearby blanket and drapes it over her, then turns his gaze to the candle on the windowsill.
“Sweet dreams,” he whispers, as the dwindling flame fades out of focus.
This is his favorite part of the day.
Vague arrays of soft, muted hues and shapes swirl around in his vision, overtaking the warm surroundings of her bedroom. They morph into recognizable figures after some time, and he can hear them speaking when he focuses. For the most part, they sound as if he’s underwater and they’re conversing on the shore. But every now and then, a clear phrase emerges.
Suddenly, the floating shapes assimilate into a figure resembling him and he realizes what this dream is. It’s a recurring one he’s particularly fond of. He settles in and pulls her closer as the scene ebbs between reality and distortions of the unconscious mind.
He can’t remember how he used to pass the night hours before he met her. Books, records, films--looking back, they feel hollow compared to nights spent like this. Part of him hopes he’ll never know what it's like to want for this. But these dreams, and her thoughts in the waking hours, assure him he won’t ever have to find out.
In the Dead of Night
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Edward Cullen x Swan!Reader
Warnings:none really, renee being a bad mom, reader having to basically parent both renee and bella, charlie being typical charlie, edward maybe ooc?
Words:5712
Nessa=Renesmee but like hell I’m keeping that name xD
You felt a bit shell shocked when your father drove his police cruiser through the small town of Forks. Both you and Bella have your faces pressed against your respective windows. Charlie catches a glimpse of his daughters via rear view mirror and smiles a little to himself.
Gone was the sand of Arizona as was the blazing sun that had you feeling uncomfortable in your own skin. Little love would be lost from leaving Arizona. That was something you and Bella could agree on.
The blues and grays that was a perpetual filter over Forks better suited you. Spending your last high school year wouldn’t be too bad. Then you could decide to live anywhere you want. No more responsibility for Bella and suffering from a flighty and unpredictable mom. While you love them both dearly, it wasn’t easy growing up having to act like a parent to both of them. Bella excelled academically, but you constantly worried for her safety. She was like a magnet for danger. There was always a scrap to bandage or something else that required you to comfort her through.
Renee was no better. It was worse being a mother to your actual mom. You were the one to always call her when it was getting too late. Always you taking care of Bella because Renee took a surprise trip and just left you a note and some money.
Just because you were a year older than your sister, Renee deemed you ready enough to be a substitute mom.
At least she never let the two of you go starving or without anything. That much you would give her.
There was hardly any emotional warmth in the house though.
Much like everything else about Forks, nothing seemed to have changed in Charlie’s home. The two small beds had new sheets on them but everything else was as you and Bella had left it.
“Sorry the two of you have to share a room.” Charlie awkwardly apologizes. He addresses you “I know how older kids like to have their own space.”
That was laughable. You’d never had your own space, but it was sweet of him. “Don’t worry about it.” You offer him an unsteady grin as you and your sister still felt partially awkward around your dad. It’s been years since you’ve even spoken to him for this long. He never fought to see you and seemed perfectly satisfied to lose contact with both of you.
Every inch of the room was frozen in time as your eyes rove in observation.
You remind yourself that it was just one. More year. One more year and just one bathroom shared between the three of you.
Breaking the silence was a sharp honk coming from right outside your bedroom window. Both you and Bella scramble to peer out of it.
A beat up, rusty red pickup truck turns its engine off. You’re still unable to see its occupants.
“That would be Billy Black.” Your dad explained with a small smile.
the last name did ring a bell in your vague memory from. Childhood. You look at Bella who just shrugs and follows Charlie into the hallway.
Outside a young teenager is helping an older man into a waiting wheelchair.
Charlie clears his throat. “You girls remember billy Black.”
Billy’s smile is warm and makes your posture relax a bit. “Glad you’re finally here.”
Both he and Charlie become distracted by their own conversation leaving the teen boy to introduce himself. “I’m Jacob. I think both of you made mud pies with me and my sisters when we were younger.”
Mud pies did sound familiar but that resurfacing memory fades when Charlie tells you that the truck is a gift for you and Bella. A homecoming gift.
**
Parking your truck in the student lot, you drum your fingers along the steering wheel. Bella in the passenger seat inhales deeply.
“We’ll get through this.” you remind her.
She looks at you with large, nervous eyes. When she was frightened, Bella always reminded you of Bambi. “Yeah. It’s just. . . the first day of school is always the worst. And we know absolutely no one here.”
“I know you.” You pipe in and it makes Bella smile if only a little bit. “That’s gotta be worth something. C’mon. Best we get acquainted with the school before the bell rings.”
Centering your courage, you tell yourself this was just another day at a high school that was like many others throughout the country.
After paying a visit to the school’s office to get your schedules, you and Bella hold them up to compare classes. Due to age you didn’t have any of the same classes together.
Too busy studying your piece of paper, you don’t notice the hurried footsteps rushing behind you.
“New girls!”
You jump, letting out a high pitch curse word. Bella holds her hand to her chest like she just experienced a heart attack.
Thoroughly annoying both Swan sister was a kid closer to Bella’s age. His smile was friendly enough but you didn’t appreciate how he had snuck up on you. “Sorry, didn’t mean to spook you guys!”
His name was Eric and turned out to be very insistent that he show you two around.
Reluctantly you go along with it, figuring no harm came from knowing at least one person.
Even though he was a tad annoying, Eric did prove to be a helpful guide.
You and Bella started your first few classes without a hitch.
At lunch, Bella introduced you to two more kids she had met in her gym class as well as a bubbly girl who blinded you by the pictures she took of you and your sister.
You’d met a few of your same year classmates and found them agreeable. They must have liked you too because they did invite you to eat with them. You didn’t want to leave Bella by herself the first day though. Integration was not something Bella was keen on.
In grade school you’d often be called in from your own class to help Bella calm down. It was safer just to make sure she was happily acclimated before you went off to do your own thing.
You mind wanders as you pick at your food. Peers around talk of typical high school experiences and asked you about your school in Arizona.
Jessica is chatting animatedly with Bella until the double doors of the cafeteria that led outside open.
Five of the most beautiful people you’d ever seen saunter inside like they own the damn place.
Painfully divine, their skin as smooth as porcelain and blemish free. Eyes painted in differing shades of golden honey.
The first four were paired off, leaving the boy with bronze colored hair trailing behind them.
Even Bella couldn’t tear her eyes from them as Jessica tells both of you about the Cullens. Adopted by the local doctor and how infamously unobtainable Edward was.
Gorgeous they were, but there’s a coldness to them.
As if reading your thoughts, Edward’s eyes happen to single you out and stare. He reminded you of a predatory hawk with those intense irises that were so unusual. You’d never seen anyone with an eye color like that before. Like a polished piece of precious metal.
Eerily he grins at you before returning his attention to his adoptive siblings.
First one to get out, you wait for Bella in the truck as the last shriek of the bell rings through the air above the school.
You spot her, a deep frown already on her face. When she gets in you ask what’s wrong. Of course she’s always reluctant to say right away what’s bothering her. Possibly taking after Charlie too much in that respect.
“That Edward guy is in my biology class.” She mumbles while buckling herself in. By her tone it didn’t sound like a good thing. “I had to sit next to him and. . . he was just really weird.”
“How so?”
She shrugs her shoulders. “He was making facing like I smelled.”
Leaning in, you give her a big sniff making Bella’s cheeks self consciously pinken. “You smell fine to me.”
That wasn’t enough to satisfy her though.
“Don’t worry about him.” You halfheartedly offer. “There’s clearly something wrong with him.”
Not until the next day would you have your own strange encounter with Edward Cullen.
Barely having just closed our locker, you jump when you see him standing there. At your bemused expression, Edward awkwardly smiles and leans against the lockers. “You’re (y/n) Swan.”
“And you’re Edward Cullen.” You raise a challenging brow. All last night Bella had been so concerned about how she smelled thanks to this guy.
The lightness of his smile dims and you notice how he appears to mentally back step as to not say anything stupid.
“Feels like I’m failing at that already.” He says under his breath.
“What?”
“Sorry.” He closes his pretty eyes that had pinned you in place. “I. . .”
Bella bounds over to you in a hurry, almost bumping into other students in the process. “Here (y/n)! I think I accidentally. . .” she notices Edward standing next to you “took your notebook. . .”
You see Bella shrink into herself as she hands you your notebook. Yup, it was your’s. Tattered and covered with sharpie doodles on the front. “Thanks Bells.”
Before things could get awkward, Edward immediately blurts “I”m sorry about yesterday. I was not quite feeling well that day before class.”
By Bella’s eyebrows creasing, you read that as Bella not quite buying his excuse. However she didn’t press and simply nods in acknowledgement. “I-It’s okay.”
Even you don’t necessarily buy it but at least he apologized. Now that the air was clear of that mess, you bid Edward a goodbye and tell Bella you’d see her at lunch.
Throughout the day though, you caught Edward staring at you. It always felt like he could read your mind because the moment you thought this creepy, he would avert his focus and look to somewhere else.
Following days, while you didn’t catch him staring at you, you would fel his nearness. You couldn’t say his attention was unwelcome. After all, he was incredibly good looking to an unbelievable degree.
Bella thought him weird, but she’d had a chip on her shoulder toward him since the first day.
Once in a while, she’d point out that the smallest of the Cullens, Alice, had been staring at you. Catching her doing this only once, Alice merely smiled at you unabashedly like you were a friend from long ago.
Stranger to come was when they actually start talking to you (besides the blondie Rosalie). A few words here and there. According to Jessica they never talk to anyone else outside of their family bubble.
A month passes and your new Forks routine finally feels normal and established.
Bella tend to spend all of her free time in La Push with Jacob and his friends. You encourage this for it granted you precious time to yourself. For a few hours, the house was entirely your’s. You enjoy lounging in the living room, your books and papers scattered everywhere as you lazily “study” while simultaneously watching tv.
A tickle along your neck alerted you to an unseen presence though. Apprehension pulls your face away from the screen and off to the side where the window was. While you weren’t completely sure, you thought you saw a flash of movement.
Incidences like that continued until March.
Edward’s action became bolder toward you. Conversations lasting more than a few seconds. From bits and pieces you started to pick up on odd little quirks. Sometimes you were so sure that he could read your mind.
You found his awkwardness around you admittedly adorable. From the way Jessica had described him, you thought he was stuck up due to his good looks. Also you hadn’t forgotten how distant all the Cullens were to their peers. But he’d be a little tongue tied around you. Scrambling to come up with appropriate words. Amusing to watch him stumble over himself.
Until he asked you out. On an actual date.
It could have been a prank. This wouldn’t be the first time someone asked you out for it to only be a joke. Of course this would cause you to be apprehensive.
“Now why would Edward Cullen want to go out on a date with the new girl?” You fold your arms in front of your chest.
Instead of being intimidated by your defensive stance, Edward smiles. “You make it sound like me liking you is impossible.”
“Ah, you like me.” Damn, your heart did flutter at that and there was a stupid smile that was trying to force your lips upward.
“I know I don’t know much about you. But I would like to.” Edward adds when he sensed your wavering skepticism.
“Since when are you dating Edward Cullen?!” Bella slammed the door of the truck.
You have to mentally count now. “Well, it’s probably been a week now.” After your first date, during the time where Charlie and Bella were out of the house, you knew that there would be more dates to come. Never had you got along so well with anyone. There had been no awkward moments and the mere lulls in conversation had been neutral. One odd thing about it was that Edward had eaten so little of his food.
Her eyes are comically large with disbelief. “You can’t be serious. H-How-“
“Well I’ve finally had time to myself.” You shrug. “Figure that time would be better spent doing something that makes me happy.” Edward hadn’t been as odd as you initially expected him to be. Sure he spoke like an old timey gentleman. His speech pattern was eloquent, a lost talent among boys these days that utterly delighted you.
“(Y/n). . . I don’t trust him. . . Or the rest of his family for that fact.” She uncomfortably looks ahead, her arms wrapped around herself.
“Why’s that?”
She bites her bottom lip, a nasty habit she’d developed when she was in kindergarten. “There’s just something not right about them. Jake was telling me something about them. How they don’t go there due to a pact their ancestors made with his. They were called the Cold Ones.”
You wanted to laugh at her serious tone. That girl was reading too many supernatural romance books. “You realize how silly that sounds.”
“I’m being serious.”
Trying to focus on your driving, you only half listen to her. “So am I Bella.”
Edward asked you to the spring dance the very next day.
Come April, you and Edward would be together for nearly a month. Impressive in your eyes considering that this was your first real relationship. In that time, Edward invited you over to his house many times. You got to know the rest of the family. You didn’t want to pick favorites but Emmett and Alice definitely held a special place in your heart.
They took care of you when you were lonely or had been fighting with Bella and Charlie.
Dating Edward had suddenly become a fuse in your relationship with the both of them. Neither liked you dating a member of the Cullens. You didn’t understand. For Charlie it may have been a protective father thing, but you still didn’t know why Bella held on to her dislike of them so fervently. You wouldn’t take the story Jacob gave her as an excuse.
Esme especially became the caring mother you never had. She was patient and was good at listening to your problems, even giving you words of wisdom. You felt whole when you were with them.
This was something Charlie and Bella couldn’t comprehend.
**
“Bella?”
While that voice had never spoken to her before, Bella knew the owner.
She turned around to face the petite Alice who was like a real life pixie.
Her guard is put up immediately. The Cullens only ever spoke to her sister (y/n). This. . . This was new. They hadn’t even bothered looking her way. Not even when Edward would come up to her when Bella was there and just swoop in.
Alice smiles prettily. “I was wondering if we can talk? Just for a few minutes, I promise.”
“What did you want to talk about?”
The smaller girl doesn’t reply but looks around uncertainly. “I was hoping I can speak with you somewhere less crowded.”
Pursing her lips, the last thing she wanted to do was be alone with her. Still, it was better than for them to get odd looks.
Bella relented and followed Bella to an empty corridor where the janitor’s closet was tucked away.
Alice began immediately “This is going to sound crazy. I know it will. But I need you to understand something about your sister and Edward. I know their relationship must seem so out of the blue. And I know you don’t particularly like us. (Y/n) and Edward, they’re meant to be together.”
And (y/n) had told her that Jacob’s story had sounded silly. This was downright insane for Alice to be saying.
She had sparse time to wrap her head around it before Alice spoke again. “It’s a deeper connection than between a human male and female. They’re coming together was predestined.”
Now Bella couldn’t hold it in as she let out her laugh. She couldn’t help the giggles that rolled out of her.
A frown upon her lips, Alice stood there until Bella quieted down.
Wiping the small tears that had pricked at her eyes, Bella said “Yeah that does sound crazy. You sound crazy.”
“Bella-“
“Look,” Bella checks the time on her phone to make sure the bell wouldn’t ring anytime soon “you, Edward and your entire weird family need to leave us alone.”
**
The ride home that day was absolute shit.
You and Bella were screaming at one another as you tried not to let your rage translate to your driving. How dare she have the gull to tell you that you needed to stop seeing Edward. Stop running to his family. What Alice had said was weird, that was true, but Alice had always been a little weirder than the rest of her family. That’s what you liked most about Alice. She wouldn’t apologize for being different.
When you reach the house, you slam on your breaks and tell Bella to get out.
“This is my truck too!!” Bella yells at you, refusing to move.
“Isabella Marie Swan” you hiss and Bella freezes having heard that tone before. It was the one you used to scold her when she was being a naughty child “You are my sister and I love you, but you need to get the fuck out of this truck.”
Her eyes are filling with trembling tears as she looks at you with shock smacking her cheeks pink with indignation and hurt.
You glare at her using all of your built up resentment that you’d accumulated through the years. Having to put Bella before yourself. Really it wasn’t her fault. The fault lay on Renee, but the way Bella was acting right now made you furious.
Slowly, she puts her hand on the door handle and pushes it open. She slips out but makes sure to slam the door extra hard.
Not bothering to look back, you shift into reverse and peel out of there.
There was only one place you wanted to be right now. People who would understand you.
Vampire.
Now that was to be the shock of the day.
You stare at the broken blade of the butcher knife that Edward had used to demonstrate the strength of his skin. He even read your mind to the ‘t’.
“So. . . Mates?” You hesitantly bring up the catalyst to Edward telling you that he and the rest of his family were vampires. That was what Bella had said Alice called them.
Bashfully he grins. “Ah. . . Yeah. Vampires mate for life. And. . . Well, Alice can see the future. She saw a future with us together.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.” Worry shines in his eyes. Would this be too much for you? The expression seemed to say.
Your head is buzzing and warm from all of this. So much had happened in just two hours that you were having a slow time at processing everything. This was a lot.
“Sorry to spring this all on you.” Edward sighs. “I’ve been thinking on how I would tell you. As you can see it’s not something I can tell just anyone. I was scared that you wouldn’t want me anymore. That you would feel our relationship forced.”
“It’s definitely a lot, but it doesn’t change how I feel about you.” You smile up at him and the break of relief on his face sends your own smile onto your lips.
He holds you to him and you return the embrace tenfold. The Cullens had been the best things to happen in your life. To know that you always belonged with them was enough to reinforce that thought.
“Is it too soon to say I love you?” He whispers against your temple.
“Not for us.”
May passed as did the spring dance where you and Edward had come to a certain agreement.
This agreement was discussed with the rest of the Cullens. Everyone was on board (of course again except for Rosalie).
Tension at the Swan household had been near suffocating. You had to be patient though.
The day of senior graduation wouldn’t be remembered for the event itself. It would always be remembered as the last day anyone saw you.
***
Three years.
That’s how long her sister had been missing.
Three years since the Cullens had been gone as well, their house lay vacant and empty. As if they had never lived there.
Charlie had exhausted all resources in trying to find (y/n).
Bella didn’t have it in her to leave the state for college. Not with Charlie still a mess. He cursed the Cullen name daily. People looked at them with pity.
She attended college via computer to be close to Charlie and keep an eye on him. In the meantime she’d picked up a job at the store Mike’s father owned. Decent money, enough to put her through school along with her scholarships.
Honestly, Bella wished she knew if her sister left on purpose or by force. Maybe that would lessen the hurt she left in her wake.
It was looking bleak though and nearly everyone stopped searching for her.
Huffing out a sigh, Bella runs her fingers through her hair in weariness and sets down her pencil. She couldn’t focus anymore. Not when the anniversary of (y/n)’s disappearance was one month away. It was like every day leading up to (y/n)’s senior graduation was being replayed in Bella’s dreams. The constant fighting and ensuing silence that followed were daily occurrences in those weeks. Bella had called (y/n) delusional. (Y/n) had called Bella an ungrateful brat.
So many words she wanted to take back but the damage was done.
The doorbell rings, calling Bella to attention and she sluggishly leaves her room to glide down the stairs. She opens the door and her heart nearly stops.
“(Y-y/n)?”
The person at her door looked so much like (y/n) except. . . Well, (y/n) wasn’t ugly, but she’d never been this beautiful. Her skin was stunning and seemed to glow. The best features of her face seemed to be enhanced in some way. Makeup maybe but Bella couldn’t say for sure.
What was absolutely different from (y/n) were the gold colored eyes. Cullen eyes.
Speaking of, Edward stood to the side of her looking the same as he did three years ago. His eyes matched (y/n)’s.
On (y/n)’s other side. . .
Bella had never seen this girl before. Eerily though she looked like both (y/n) and Edward mixed together but she was far too old to be their kid. No way. But. . . She had the color of what (y/n)’s eyes used to be. The warmest brown. Her fair skinned face is framed by Edward’s bronze ringlets.
“Hey. . .” (Y/n) tries to smile. “Please don’t freak out but can we come in?”
Dumbly, Bella stares and she vaguely remembers nodding her head before letting the three inside.
(Y/n)’s gold eyes move quickly around the house. “Wow. . . Still nothing has changed.” She murmured to herself.
It was like Bella was watching a ghost float down the hall to the living room. Edward and the unnamed girl following after her. The girl shot worrying looks over to Bella before following Edward.
Stiffly, Bella followed the procession into the living room and watched them sit down.
“You’re alive.”
(Y/n) grimaced and chooses her words carefully. “Yes. . . I. . . I’m so sorry Bella.
Bella looked at Edward. “You ran away with him.”
She nodded and Edward put a protective hand atop of (y/n)’s. Only then did Bella spot the gold band wrapped around (y/n)’s left ring finger.
Swallowing thickly, Bella looked at her older sister. “You eloped.” She corrected herself.
“Yes.” (Y/n) replied within a heartbeat. “I don’t regret the decision but I regret hurting you and Charlie. I should have left a note but I was so angry with the both of you. It was childish and I’m sorry if you and Charlie suffered.”
Both Edward and the young girl watch Bella carefully; gauging her reaction.
“And. . .” (Y/n) glanced at Edward who subtly nods “and I wanted to explain why I left and for you to meet our daughter, Nessa.”
**
Oh were you nervous.
You didn’t even think a vampire could feel this nervous.
If only you could read your sister better. Not even Edward could delve into her mind though.
This was bad. You knew coming had been a bad idea and that you may make things worse by telling her. But you couldn’t let go of the guilt with just up and leaving Bella. For the longest time you had watched over her. It felt weird to just abandon her. At the same time though, eloping with Edward had been something you really needed.
You’d married Edward immediately when you were deemed a safe distance away.
The life you had chosen was not what you had first anticipated.
From that first night of being physical with Edward, you became pregnant. He had planned to change you the very next day but now he couldn’t.
Everyone freaked out most certainly, but while the pregnancy was not the easiest, it definitely moved along quickly.
Early on you found how blood actually fed you and the fetus better than any human food. Great practice for what you would have to do once you were transformed. Edward had doubts of if you would survive. Alice’s sight was what gave you your calm. No matter what she still saw you in Edward’s future. As she did your daughter.
You couldn’t meet your daughter right away after her birth.
Once she’d been removed from you, Edward immediately changed you. This was all part of the plan. Everyone knew going into it that it would be unlikely for you to survive naturally. The only thing that would save you would be vampire venom.
Before your state got any weaker, Edward sunk his teeth into you.
You were born again into a sturdier body.
Your hybrid daughter, much like in the womb, grew fast but you noticed a decline in growth once her second birthday came around. Now she looked much like your frozen age of eighteen.
You knew she’d have an incredulous look when you introduced Nessa. It easily led into you explaining what had happened. You even used the same demonstration Edward had three years prior when telling you that he was a vampire. You’d buy Charlie a new knife to replace the broken one that bent against the force of your diamond strong skin.
All the while, Bella was absolutely silent. She couldn’t take her eyes off of you or Nessa. Then after you’re done speaking, her focus turns to your husband and Bella’s brown eyes narrow.
Wanting to erase that expression of deep bitterness that she shot Edward, you apologize once again for leaving. How many times had you apologized?
“You abandoned us for them. We thought. . . We were thinking the worst (y/n). All this time. . .” Bella’s eyes burned with a mixture of hurt and betrayal. Her bottom lip which she usually chewed when she was nervous trembled. While her and Charlie had been worried sick, (y/n) had become this monstrously beautiful creature. You could feel her emotions boiling over and you allow her to scald you. “And you waited three years to come back.”
“I had to get through the newborn phase.” Hastily you explain. “There was no way I could have seen you earlier. I needed. . . Needed to learn control over this new body of mine.”
You’re grateful that Edward keeps quiet but you could feel him stir beside you, not liking how you’re basically groveling with explanations with the hope that Bella would forgive you. He had warned you about this. About it being too much for Bella.
“Control.” Bella laughed at that making you inwardly flinch at the disdain dripping from her. “This is what you call control? Abandoning your family, leaving us in agony-”
“For the longest time I had to give up MY own happiness.” Instantly you snap, feeling heat rush through you although you knew that you couldn’t really get hot or cold. “I gave up my childhood to take care of not just you but freaking Renee too!! I wanted to be selfish for once in my life. And yes, it has made me beyond happy making a life with the Cullens and MY daughter.”
Never had you voiced your resentment of never having anything to yourself. Bella couldn’t have possibly known.
Now Bella’s narrowed eyes turn to Nessa who is staring wide eyed at her aunt. “And what about her? What kind of abomination is she? A mix of human and vampire? How could you bring such a monstrosity into this world?”
Abruptly, Edward stands. Unable to let her slander go on any further even as you grab at the sleeve of his shirt to pull him back down. Nessa’s face fell, her innocent eyes cloud with hurt making even you want to snap at your cruel sister. “She’s our daughter, Bella. She’s not a monster. She’s a beautiful, innocent child who deserves love and acceptance.”
From how fast he had stood, Bella had pressed herself into the couch; partially out of fear of what an enraged vampire would do.
Glancing at Nessa, you notice that Bella did seem to soften even if a little bit when she caught the hurt on Nessa’s face.
Taking a deep breath, Bella pulls her back away from the couch cushion. Even if she hated you for leaving, she had no reason to hate your daughter. Something in her throat bobs with emotion. “I’m sorry Nessa. . . But I can’t condone any of this.” She goes back to you. “You ran off to live some happy little life while leaving Charlie and I to mourn. I’m sorry it was so terrible taking care of me that you felt you had to run away.”
“Bella-”
“I need all of you to get out before Charlie comes home. He. . . He can’t see you like this.”
You don’t want to leave, not until Bella understood why you left but it was a losing battle as she could only focus on her hurt.
Nessa grabs your hand and through her supernatural talent of conveying her thoughts and feelings, she sends you comforting waves of how you were still loved by her and the Cullens. That this didn’t have to be the end of it, but that it would be best to give your sister space.
Your Nessa had always been so smart beyond her years thanks to her accelerated brain. You squeeze her hand in your grip and nod.
Leaving made you feel like you had lost but it was the best thing to do right now and not push Bella.
Edward kept his arm wrapped around your shoulders as he led you and Nessa back to his car.
“That could have gone so much worse.” You say once all of you return to the old Cullen house. Nessa had gone off to help Esme with cleaning up the place. They’d always loved their Forks home and were loathe to leave in the beginning. You promised Esme that all of you would return one day.
Edward kisses your temple and hums. “Didn’t expect her to say those things about Nessa.” He was still upset at that. Nessa was a miracle and the family’s pride and joy. After giving birth to her, Rosalie even started to warm up toward you.
You wished you had seen Charlie but Bella may have been right about it best that he didn’t see you so changed. Alice had given you contact lenses that matched your human color eyes but they irritated your eyes and would only last for an hour or two.
“I did hurt them by leaving.” You mumble. “I know that. Is it bad that I don’t regret my actions though?” The fact that you hadn’t even left a note had bothered you the past three years. Instead you let Edward spirit you away in the dead of night where no prying eyes could see where you disappeared into.
“You did what you had to do to get freedom.” Edward coaxes you to the tarp covered couch and onto his lap so your head lay on his chest. He cradles you in his arms and holds you close to him. “We have Nessa now because of the decisions you made.”
Yes, you had your Nessa and a family that actually supported you instead of forcing so much responsibility on you.
You were unarguably happier than before.
Friendship Bracelets - Paul Lahote x Reader
Hearing the engine of the rusty orange truck cut caused you to stir from your place on the couch. Your homework was sprawled all across the living room, the static of the TV crackling as it was in between channels.
You were slightly annoyed that your sister was home cause that meant that her beau was in tow and you'd have to witness the awkward love the two of them shared.
“Bella why don't you just listen to me”, your sister's boyfriend argued. Great, they were having their hourly argument. These happened so often because your sister was one of the most stubborn people you've ever met.
“Edward drop it. I'm doing it and you can't tell me otherwise”, your sister shot back.
“Bella I said no”, he downright yelled.
They crashed into the kitchen and you could see how they were both physically angry and neither wanted to back down from their standpoint of whatever the hell they were talking about.
“You don't get to make my decisions for me”, Bella screamed.
“It's not safe for you to go alone Bella, and I obviously can't go”, Edward yelled.,
By now you were leaning against the doorframe observing the lovers quarrel, holding back laughter. You had to watch them go through this every day, except this time Edward seemed to be holding his ground even more, so it had to be serious. Normally he just gave in to your quarrelsome sister but not this time.
Bella looked around completely baffled that somebody wasn't just giving her the green light to do whatever she wanted to do. As she looked around exasperated she spotted you listening in on the conversation and her eyes sparkled.
“I won't go alone”, she proudly declared.
“Hmm”, Edward hummed in question.
“Y/N’s going with me”, Bella stated.
“Absolutely not, I’m not letting you drag me into this”, you yelled suddenly less amused.
“Bella just dropped it”, Edward stated clearly not enthused by Bella’s response.
“Y/N just do this for me please”, Bella pleaded.
She looked up at you with pleading eyes. Clearly, this was important to her. And no matter how much she pissed you off, you enjoy pissing Edward off even more.
“Yeah Eddy boy I guess I’m going with good ole Bells to…where the hell are we going Bella?”, you asked.
“La Push”
---------------------
The truck rattled down the gravel driveway as your sister drove you to the undisclosed location that apparently meant so much to her.
Pulling to a stop in front of a wooden cabin in the middle of the woods you couldn't help but admire its beauty. Though the house itself was worn down in front of it barrels full of flowers and homemade raised flower beds were littered around.
“Stay in the car”, your sister nonchalantly said.
“Umm no”, you argued back.
“I shouldn't be long, half an hour tops' ', was all she had to say.
“Bella, I'm not letting you leave me here for thirty minutes. I’m helping you out by coming with you. I agreed to go with you with whatever you were doing, not to stay in the car”, you retorted.
“Fine, just be careful and try to be quiet”, she sighed.
“Whatever weirdo”, you answered.
As the doors of the truck slammed shut and both of you hopped out the front door to the cabin two tanned-skinned boys came barreling out, both wanting to be the first to talk to Bella.
“Bella is that you”, one of the boys called out.
“Dude you know it's her don't be weird”, the other replied, shoving his friend nearly to the ground.
Bella just laughed and nodded for you to follow her, the both of you stopping right in front of the two shirtless boys.
“Who's the girl Bella?”, boy number one asked as he eyed you up and down, clearly suspicious.
“This is my younger sister, I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned her a few times, or at least Jacob has”, Bella answered.
“Umm I’m Y/N”, you said shyly, granting them a small wave. As much as you didn't want to be you were intimidated by the two boys, something about their presence, maybe it was the way they were standing was almost animalistic.
“Jared," the boy said.
“Quil”, the other spoke.
“Great, now that introductions are done, can we go in? I came to talk to Jacob and he said to meet him here”, Bella asked.
“Yeah, everyone’s inside we were just heading out to go run the perimeter…hey!”, Jared was cut off by a smack from Quil who looked at him as if he had three heads.
The strange cadence to their voices through you off and how quick Quill was to cut Jared off downright made you nervous, but you weren't going to say anything. You didn't want to be rude.
Bella mumbled for you to follow her, which you did. Trudging up the old wooden steps you glanced around your sister's body to glance through the small glass window next to the front door.
Inside around a large circular wooden table sat more tanned skin boys, all with their shirts off. They were laughing and shoving each other while eating what looked like pumpkin bread. You were able to recognize Jacob, even though he looked different from the last time you saw him. You could also see a girl, she had a large scar that covered a portion of her face and she was standing in the kitchen mixing a bowl of batter.
Without hesitation, Bella rapped her knuckles against the wooden door, clearly impatient that it didn't open within the first five seconds.
Still looking through the window you could see all the faces turn to look towards your direction. As quickly as you could you moved to hide behind your sister, embarrassed that you had been spotted.
“Bella it's good to see you”, the girl with the bowl of batter said as she opened the door, one of the shirtless boys protective watching from over her shoulder.
“You too Emily, Sam”, Bella added nodding to the guy standing behind the girl, who you now knew as Emily.
“And this must be your little sister, Y/N right”, Emily asked, her eyes shining bright.
“Yeah”, you breathed out still on edge.
“Well, it's nice to finally meet you Y/N. You, ladies, need to come inside, it's freezing out there”, Emily ushered, opening the door wider and pushing Sam out of the way. He gave you a half smile and a nod as if he could sense that you were nervous.
Bella barged in like she owned the place and went straight towards the table of boys, all of them amused at her presence not bothering to really give you a good look.
“Jacob”, she barked.
Jacob looked up from where he was sitting to roll his eyes at Bella's neediness. After they had a mini staring contest he looked beyond so he could see you. Sending you a cheesy grin he shot up and out of his seat. Rushing over to you and scooping you into his arms, spinning you around,
“Little Y/N. You’re all grown up”, he said laughing. After holding onto you for a few more seconds he let your feet return to the earth again before keeping you an arm's length away so he could get a good look at you.
Your back faced the dining room table and Jacob smiled as he saw truly how much you had grown up.
“It's been six or seven years. How long have you been back?”, he asked.
“Like three weeks. Been trying to get acclimated back to Forks after all these years”, you told him.
“Well, I’m glad you're back now, even though I am a little annoyed that Bella and Charlie have been keeping you all to themselves for these past few weeks. And before I go off to see whatever the hell it is your sister wants to drag me into, I'll introduce you to these idiots right here”, Jacob told you.
You turned around so you were facing the table. You could see a couple of the boys were now looking at you and the rest were semi-focused on the pumpkin bread they were eating.
“This here is Embry, Seth, Brady, and Collin. And you’ve already met Sam and Emily. And I assume Jared and Quil introduced themselves on their way out. All you are missing is Leah who is not here right now and Paul who should be here in a little bit”
You said hi to everyone and accepted the seat that Jacob offered you and a slice of pumpkin bread from Emily. After being assured by your sister and Jacob that they would be right back, you agreed to wait and hang out with your new friends, or people you hoped were going to be your new friends.
------------------
You had no idea how much time had passed since your sister and Jacob had been gone but you didn't really care.
This was the most amount of fun you had experienced in months. The boys had convinced you to play a card game with them once a girl, whom you were introduced to as Leah, came over. They had even got Sam to play with you guys and it was a total blast. Cards were flying everywhere every time one of the boys lost a hand. Emily had been watching from the kitchen giggling every time an insult was thrown at her fiance.
“God dammit. This game is so freaking stupid”, Embry exclaimed after he was the very apparent loser of the last round. As he slammed his cards against the table and everyone laughed at his tantrum the front door was pushed open and three more people entered laughing at their own conversation.
Looking to see what was going on you smiled at your sister and Jacob noticing that they had the third with them. You were pleased to see that Bella looked less agitated than she had before they left and Jacob looked intact.
“Oh hey Y/n that's Paul”, Seth said, nodding to the third person with your sister and Jacob after they started to make their way toward the dining room table. Turning your head to face the illusive Paul you were startled.
He stood there next to Jacob and when the two of you locked eyes you saw every ounce of oxygen leave his body all at once. He looked shocked and extremely pleased and scared all at once.
It was overwhelming and you had no idea what was happening. But you were smart enough to know that it was something.
Nobody said anything in the passing moments and there was so much tension in the room it began to get too hard to breathe. You looked between Paul, Jacob, and your sister, too afraid to speak. Your eyes begging them for an explanation. Jared opened his mouth as if he was going to say something but a hand clamped down on his shoulder shut him up before anything happened.
“Everyone out…NOW”, Sam growled. As lightning came and went, almost everyone was out of the house. All that was left was yourself, Sam, Paul, your sister, and Jacob. Emily didn't leave the house but she did excuse herself upstairs to go busy with something other than baking. “Paul”, Sam was the one to speak again.
You were still perched on the dining room chair, your hands holding your knees that were curled against you.
You watch as Sam gives the three left still standing a look causing Jacob to pull Bella towards the barstools that rested under the kitchen counter, and surprisingly she didn't put up a fight like she normally does.
That left Paul, having not moved an inch since whatever it was that happened between the two of you.
Sam moved towards Paul and he moved his hand onto Paul's shoulder giving him a nod and a slight push in your direction. Jacob then whispered something to Bella, which caused her to stand up from her barstool and throw her hands up, her mouth opening to have a freakout. But Jacob harshly shrugged her down and clamped a hand over her mouth so nothing could come out. You almost lost it over her defeated look, but you refrained since the situation seemed grave.
“Paul, would you rather do this alone?”Sam broke the silence.
“Umm yeah, why don't we head out back. I’m gonna send everyone in. But we’re gonna stay close just in case, um you know”, Paul stammered.
Paul moved towards the back door but backtracked so he was standing to the side of you. He held out his hand towards you. Every ounce of you was screaming internally telling you to not take it and run. But there was a small part of you, a point zero, zero one percent of you told you to trust him. And even though that percentage was so small the idea was echoed throughout.
So slowly you reached out, accepting his invitation and letting him softly pull you out of the chair. You could tell that once your hand was in his he relaxed. He found enough confidence to even twirl a bracelet you wore on your wrist so that he could get a better look at it.
Weaving through Emily’s house you looked over your shoulder and saw Jacob's mouth that you were going to be okay, and Bella was fuming but that was usual for her so you didn't think twice.
Paul opened up the back door for you letting you out first, but not letting go of your hand. The group that had once occupied the kitchen table was now kicking a soccer ball around and chatting. But the conversation stopped once Paul's steps squeaked the wooden floorboards of the porch.
Smirks were placed on their faces but were immediately wiped off once Paul literally growled at them, which sent shivers down your spine.
The soccer ball was quickly abandoned and they all rushed by and back into Emily’s house, but not before they could send a few teasing remarks toward Paul, which caused him to huff and puff a bit. But he quickly got over it once he looked towards you.
He pulled you towards a set of lawn furniture that looked like it had seen better days that rested on the wrap-around porch.
Once you sat down on the couch you once again pulled your legs against your chest. It was a mental way of creating a boundary between you and Paul that you weren't even doing consciously.
Once he was next to you his hands found yours yet again. You were somewhat calmed by the sudden warmth that he gave off.
“Y/I need to tell you something”, Paul finally said.
“Yeah I figured as such”, you said slightly laughing trying to bring humor in to break up the tension. Paul met your laughter as he twisted your bracelet around some more.
“So obviously something happened”, he drawled.
“Yeah”
“Do you want me to be blunt or sugarcoat it”, he asked.
“Be blunt”, you answered.
“OK well umm. There's no easy way to put this but you see well. My tribe, the Quileutes, we’re special. Some of us have a special gene that makes us different”
“You’re sugarcoating it”, you interrupted.
“I'm sorry, fine. The gene makes us shifters. We shift into wolves. I’m a werewolf”
“Be so for real right now”, you answered, absolutely breaking out into laughter. With your comment, you could hear a collection of howling laughter coming from in the house. Paul looked absolutely bewildered but regained his composure, a smirk of disbelief formed on his face as he shook his head.
“That's why I wanted to tell you the full story. I think it would have been a little more believable, then hey I’m a werewolf. But you’re the impatient one”, Paul said, raising his eyebrows.
“Ok, so wolf boy. How do I come into this mix?”, you questioned.
“That's the even more complicated part”
“Spill”
“Shifters have something called imprints. You’re mine”, he gulped at the last part as he looked at you for approval.
You wouldn't believe what you were hearing. This was insane. Not believing him at all and believing him fully at the same time.
You couldn't deny the connection that you felt with him, but werewolves don't exist. Or at least you didn't think that they did.
“Imprints are like soulmates. But they don't have to be romantic. It could just be me being your protector or a friend. Or something more. It's your ultimate choice in the matter”. Paul had a firm grip on your hand now like he needed to be touching some part of you at the moment. '`Do you have anything to say?”, he asked.
Inhaling as much air as your lungs could take in and letting it all out slowly you shifted yet again this time so you were fully in front of him. You wanted more time to think over everything that had just been thrown at you but part of you was terrified. If you asked for more time to think you would get in your head or worse let Bella get in your head. Since you were pretty positive that she knew everything that was going on based on her reactions earlier.
“Would a human imprint, would they feel the connection too?”
“Yeah. Umm not completely like a wolf but they do. You’ll feel drawn to me. Any emotions surrounding me will feel heightened. You can feel the connection”, Paul answered.
“Cool”, was all that you could manage to get out. This reaction made Paul heartily laugh and it made your heart warm to see him light up.
---------------
“So what's the deal with you and Bella? We met her about a year ago and she just mentioned that she had a sister and that was it. Why did you just now come out of the woodwork?”Paul asked. You were now leaning against his chest, snuggled into it appreciating the warmth he provided against the freezing winds that whipped through the forest Emily's house sat in.
“Well, I lived with my mom and stepdad for pretty much most of my life. My dad and mom got together pretty soon after Renee and he got divorced. That's why I'm only two years younger than Bella. A few months ago my stepdad found out he was sick and my mom wanted to move across the country so he could be treated at Boston Medical Center since they have a trial program he’s eligible for. Which I was all for because I love my step-dad and want him to get treated but it would have been too hard for me to go with him. So my mom called Charlie and asked if I could move back here”
“Damn I'm so sorry Y/N”, Paul softy said as he pulled you closer to him.
“It's fine. My mom sends me daily updates on him and I’m glad to be back here with Charlie. And really it's probably a good thing that Bella and I are around each other more. Really our entire lives the only time we’ve gotten to know each other is over the phone”, you assured him.
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you as Paul hummed no melody in particular and continued to wrap your bracelet in circles slowly around your wrist. You watched as it turned left and right and Paul's eyes concentrated on it.
“I can make you one”, you said looking up to meet his eyes and giving him a sweet smile. He looked shocked for a second, almost embarrassed that you had caught him playing with it.
“I don't wanna have to make you do anything for me”, Paul stuttered, but he still did not drop your left wrist.
“Paul it would be no big deal. It's easy. I even have the colors left over. We could match”, You wiggled your eyebrows at the last point attempting to calm him down. Which worked. He laughed at your weirdness and pulled you tight to him again.
“The packs gonna give me such crap for wearing a pink and orange bracelet”, he whined pinching the bridge of his nose.
“Such it up Lahote, You're getting a matching friendship bracelet”
LISA SE KLAVIER | E.C.
pairing: edward cullen x fem!reader
word count: 0.9k
warnings: some uncannon edward simping behaviour
summary: edward has never been too fond of sharing his piano, but he won't deny his appreciation for your midnight musical musings when you can't sleep
a/n: inspired by lisa se klavier by the parlotones
Tumblr media
You had no reason to be nervous, settling on the cold wooden chair of the grand piano resting amid the Cullen living room, you were always welcome there- it was a simple unspoken invitation that remained permanently extended to you. Though you’d never been one to overstay your welcome, you could not stay away from the ebony and ivory keys, they called for you no matter how far you’d go and the Cullens were always grateful when you answered said call- no matter the time of day.
Your fingers rested motionless on your lap, eyes wondering over the notes of a song Edward had conveniently forgotten on the music stand, though the man was very much aware that his acts of forgetfulness had never fooled you in the slightest.
“I’ve never seen this one before,” you noted, the steps behind you seizing as he stilled behind you, a silent announcement of his and his family’s presence downstairs- they’d been busying themselves all night, hoping that you’d stop by for a minute or two- Edward, however, hoped for much more than merely a few minutes.
“That’s because it’s new,” Edward explained, being sure to brush a quick kiss to the back of your head before moving to the other side of the piano, mimicking a man without a worry in the world, elbows moving to accommodate him leaning onto the wooden surface, a daring, commanding grin painted on his lips as he waited ever impatiently for you to put an end to the silent night. “Though, I don’t believe that has ever stopped you before,” he hummed, appreciating the way his innocent flirtations earned such a delicate, pure, reaction from your heart.
“Won’t you join me?” you demanded softly, eyes trained on the vintage paper in front of you as you traced the artistic black indentations, they were familiar somehow, like many you’d read before and with a little hum you realized why. “This is one of your originals, after all,” you mused, lucky to have looked up just in time to see his smile broaden momentarily. “I don’t think it’s fair that I’d be the first one to play it.”
“I disagree,” he defended almost instantly, tilting his head to allow his eyes a better view of you, shamelessly tracing your features with an adoring gaze that set your nerves ablaze. “It was written for you, it would only make sense that you’d be the first,” he explained, shrugging lightly at your surprise, unsure how after all this time he could still surprise you and enlighten you with such simple gestures. “Now, would you do your boyfriend the honour,” he nodded suggestively at the keys, hoping that would be all the convincing needed. “You’ve got an audience waiting too, you know.”
“Perhaps,” you began, teasingly pressing down onto one key, smirking as a sort of foolish idea popped into you head. “Edward,” you paused, noticing the little raise of his brow showing that he took his opportunity to slip into your head, curious to see what was holding up the usually eager performance.
“You’re bartering,” he sighed, shaking his head as he moved forward slightly, smiling at the sight of you biting your lips expectantly. “Taking advantage of how I feel about you.”
“Please,” you begged, patting the empty spot beside you expectantly, having to move your hand barely a second later as he slid in next to you. “You’re far too easy to convince.”
“Quite so,” he agreed, rolling his eyes as he flipped the page with the song to reveal the very same song but with lyrics scribbled underneath, Edward’s handwriting flowing into the notes so perfectly it made the concept of him writing a song for you all the more poetic. “Though I love how excited you are with getting your way, I have to insist that you allow me to hear it at least once with just your playing,” he furthered his own barter by gently taking your other hand from your lap and placing it to hover over the keys as well, staying close as he brushed a strand of hair behind your ear. “Please,” he whispered, the sound shivering down your spine as you closed your eyes to savour his lips where they left a delicate kiss to your cheek, a sure way to ensure that he’d get his way just as easily.
You cleared your throat, leaning into the arm that draped around your shoulders as you started playing the song, fingers familiar with the way the music surrounded you, piquing the interest of everyone in the house as they walked over to see you, hear you- live with you in the perfect melody created so astonishingly and drafted so eloquently by the love you shared with the man at your side.
En die hele wêreld raak stil en luister in die donker uur na die nag geluide van Lisa se klavier…
Personal Brand of Heater | Jacob Black x Fem!Reader (Oneshot)
Tumblr media
Word count: 1,899
Summary: The first time I had kissed Jacob was entirely an accident. That was how I wanted to think about it, at least.
Silly notes: So... it was 4am... and it was cold, so at the time writing this made a lot of sense. Plus I was lonely and destructively pining for the one and only, Jacob Black. *hands you this fic* Enjoy!
Tumblr media
The first time I had kissed Jacob was entirely an accident. That was how I wanted to think about it, at least.
Winter was just by the horizon, approaching with a certain quiet inevitability, and a blanket of darkness was beginning to unfurl itself across the landscape—and Forks, being the cold and sleepy town that it was, made the first hints of a wintry burden a lot more obvious.
So it was cold. And it was just that there was something about cuddling with Jacob in the middle of the night that did it for me. It made total sense: I was freezing, and Jacob was hot. Literally. Like my personal brand of heater. And maybe I also liked him a little bit. Or a little too much. Or maybe I was in-love. It was the only explanation, even though before what had happened I'd hardly given myself enough time to even name what I'd started to feel for Jake.
It sounded stupid at first, being in-love with Jake. There was no way. But the more I thought about it, the more convinced and horrified I became. That stupid fluttery feeling in my stomach whenever Jake looked at me. I'd thought about the way my chest sometimes felt like it was going to explode when he hugged me, or the way my stomach dropped and twisted at the thought of Jacob hugging a different woman that wasn’t me. God, I was in-love. Of course I was. But even that wasn’t reasonable enough to accidentally kiss him.
So when I had had the clever idea of hitting Jacob up to “hang out” at two in the morning and he didn’t reply, I'd assumed that would be the end of it, and that I would have to curl up in bed, alone and feverish from the chills the night brought.
But that wasn’t the case, and I had only realised this when Jacob was already launching himself through my second-story window and then into my room with a stealthy thud. The dumbass.
I looked at him, stunned. “Jake, what the hell?”
“Whew, I’m sorry about that. I didn’t mean to scare you.” Jacob said, a wide and pleasant grin of mockery spreading across his face—the one that made my stomach do the dumb flip thing. GAH. “I’m sure you don’t really mind.”
“I don’t,” I said automatically. I wasn't stunned at seeing him anymore, because he wasn’t wearing a shirt and I was stunned at something else instead. The pale moonlight sneaking in through my open window made his russet skin look richer. He looked ethereal. The dangerous kind of ethereal. “Do you ever get cold?” I asked dumbly, trying to shift my focus.
Jacob laughed. “Didn’t you already ask that before?”
“I did? Maybe I forgot.” And maybe I had also forgotten how to talk.
He opened his mouth, looking like he was about to crack a joke, but something made him change his expression. Instead, worry creased his forehead, and he inched closer to me.
He was huge, and he leaned over me, so huge that his shadow made my little room look darker. I was looking up at him, completely overwhelmed—my head was pounding and my chest was freaking out and the fever, which I had momentarily forgotten about ever since he came in, came hitting me again. I swayed unsteadily, legs going slightly limp. Jacob grabbed me easily by the waist. “Hey, hey. Is everything okay?” He whispered anxiously, slowly easing me towards the edge of the bed. “You’re shivering, why didn’t you tell me you were sick? Are you cold?”
I only managed to nod before my legs gave way, plopping into a weak heap on the bed.
His hand was really warm. “Jesus christ, you’re freezing. Don’t you have a heater somewhere?”
I shivered uselessly on the bed, delirious. He watched me for one long moment, hesitating. Then he snuck to my side and began settling down onto the bed, and before I could even begin to protest, his arms were already wrapped around me—one arm under my head and the other tightly snug around my waist. And then I wasn't protesting anymore.
I let my head rest against his bare chest. “You’re so warm,” I muttered, the words muffled out by his chest. The heat was so inviting, so comfortable that I didn’t want to pull away. Not that I could ever, even if I had the energy to. The warmth seeped into my skin, the icy grips of the night slowly melting away.
Jacob chuckled, pleased. “That better? Don’t move too much, alright. Save your energy for me. I’ll warm you up.”
“What about you?” I exhaled heavily. “You’re going to freeze.”
“Not really,” he promised. “Hey, say, why don’t you try sleeping? What’s kept you up this late?”
I thought for a second. "Hypothetically," I said, my mind gaining clarity. "If you weren't a werewolf anymore and you lived in the city, what's the first thing you'd do?"
I felt his chest stop at a chuckle, and then there was silence. When it dragged on for a moment too long, I tilted my head to look at his expression. He was staring into the distance, where I'd put up a bunch of city photos for my vision board. His eyes seemed to light up. "If I weren't a werewolf anymore," he mused. "I'd try out all the burgers in the city and check out what they sell in Walmart. I heard they sell weird stuff there... and then maybe I'd go shopping in one of those big malls... get a job... go to a university."
I snorted. "Wow okay, I understand the rest, but Walmart? Really?"
"Don't judge me," he met my eyes, suddenly defensive. He smiled playfully and pushed my hair out of my face. "Let's hear yours. If you decided to live in the city, away from... all of this. What would you do?"
There was hardly any need to think, because it was all I ever thought about during my first summer in Forks. And it was hardly even a summer, really, because it rained all the time and it was still cold even on the good days where the sun was slightly more visible. "I would live by myself in the city, in a small apartment. Like a normal person," I said, wincing at the last part, because all things considered, I thought the word *normal* just didn't exist in Forks anymore, and saying it felt like a major offense. He nodded, and I went on, "I would go to bookstores and those loud concerts... and then go for a late night drive after, you know? Just drive for hours without a destination. It kind of sounds nice. It's like surrendering all your worries for one night. I think that kind of freedom would make me feel lighter."
I watched his face. He laughed at first, saying, "Your answer makes mine look like child's play."
"I'd try out every burger with you, and go to every Walmart conceivable." I offered.
"You'd do that?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
He grinned. "Well, I'd carry your books for you, and I'd drive you across the city for as long as you want. Sounds fair?"
"So it's a promise." I smirked.
"Hah well, not that my being a werewolf can stop me from making you happy," he said. Then he tightened his grip just a bit and lifted me effortlessly, setting me on top of him. "Is this better?"
I hummed a yes, suddenly finding it very, very difficult to breathe. "You're... really warm," I sighed.
He smiled softly. It looked so much better up close, so much so that my stomach did that weird flippy thing again. "You said that earlier. Although," a sheen of mischief lit his eyes up, "if you want to feel warmer you could always just take your clothes off."
"Jacob," I warned, a smile threatening to break out of my face. "Shut up, will you?"
"Survival one-oh-one," he teased.
"Saying that isn't really a friends thing."
He raised one eyebrow, curious. "Oh so taking your clothes off is where you draw the line?"
"Like every sane person, ever, duh."
"Well, cuddling like this isn't really a friends thing either," he retorted.
My face flushed red. "What do you mean?"
"The way I hold you," he said quietly, with a sudden hint of seriousness to his voice. "Is this how friends are supposed to roll?" He asked, his face speculative.
I stayed quiet. I wasn't breathing again. It was the question, and maybe the way the gentle glow of the moon was casted upon his face. His eyes twinkled in the light, like pools of rich and velvety chocolate. He was sort of beautiful that I didn't want to breathe ever again. He stared right through me, watchful and interested. His eyelashes fluttered as he blinked, and our breaths mixed with how close our faces were. It was so warm and so right.
My gaze flickered from his eyes to his mouth, then back again. His mouth tugged up at one corner, as if he had the faintest idea of what I was thinking—and maybe, just maybe, he thought the same.
It was slow, but also quick in a weird way—not quick as in like something in the heat of the moment, but quick enough that I couldn't register what was happening, and slow enough for me to remember every single detail—slow enough for me to conclude that it really wasn't an accident.
His hand gently made its way to the small of my back. He rubbed gently, and I leaned in, our faces inching even closer; I could hear my heartbeat loud against my chest, so loud maybe he'd heard it too. But his eyes were fixed, mesmerised as I moved in. Our noses touched and he inched to the side, nudging forward with the tip of his chin; he glanced at my mouth, then flickered quickly back to my eyes.
There was a momentary pause where our faces both hovered, so close and mellow and sure, and I ached in anticipation. I stole one more glance at his mouth, and then I was sighing into the kiss, the aches and worries leaving my body. His lips were hot, and it scorched against mine, but god he was so gentle—like a gentle rush of air through leaves. The kiss stayed warm and slow, almost exploratory, but there was also a sliver of hunger shoved in between—like Jacob had been dying to do this for a while, and when he finally did he couldn't stop anymore. My lower lip caught delicately in his teeth, and he sucked on it; I allowed him, because I loved exploring his mouth just as much—in an almost obsessive manner. My tongue wandered, the pleasant taste of something woodsy settling into my mouth.
When we pulled apart, it was with soft gasps and fitful smiles and chuckles. He patted my head. "Was that also a friends thing?"
"Nothing about us is friendly," I finally admitted.
"So that means...?"
"I want to be your girlfriend, Jake."
His face stretched out into a huge grin. It was contagious. "Took you long enough, my little moon."
"Is that a yes?" I pinched him lightly.
He chuckled. "Do you want to go at it again for an answer?"
Can u do headcanons for the cullen clan with there s/o whose a flilrt can this be for femake reader please
Tumblr media
You *lean towards Carlisle as he is taking care of work* : "Hey, can I get your number, angel ?"
Carlisle : "...Y/N. We've been married for the past 100 years."
You : "...So ?"
Carlisle *sighs* : "You already have my phone number in your phone."
Carlisle would pretend to not understand at first, but would secretly find it endearing.
He fell in love with you for your fearlessness and honesty.
He would try his best to reciprocate your flirting, but it would mostly end up with him acting all reasonable and you, flirting your way through life.
A combination none could have seen coming, but you're both glad to have each other.
Tumblr media
You *dreamily* : "I bet I could take you."
Jasper *smirks* : "Well, what are you waiting for ?"
You *blush* : "Right now ? I mean...With all your family around and...?" *you notice his confused face and suddenly realize* "Wait. Ooooh...You meant in a fight ? Yeah. No. You would definitely win that one."
Jasper *frowns in confusion* : "...Y/N. What did you exactly mean by 'I could take him' ?"
You : "..." *walk away using super speed*
Jasper *runs after you* : "Y/N ! Do not dare walk away from me. What did you mean by that ? Y/N !"
The wonderful thing about Jasper is that he can be so clueless at times, even if he is smarter than most people.
He knows flirting and would understand sometimes, but would still have problems figuring out the meaning.
Tumblr media
Rosalie would pretend to be annoyed at first, but would slowly warm up to you.
She would then start playing along and let you flirt with her, only to try to outflirt you. Literally.
You *wrap your arms around her neck from behind and smile* : "How is the most gorgeous creature in all the world doing today ?"
Rosalie *smiles* : "I don't know..How are you today, my darling ?"
You *stunned for a second and pretend not to be sobbing tears of joy. on her shoulder afterwards* : "I'm...fine."
Rosalie can be pretty smooth too when she wants to.
However, be careful if she sees you flirt with someone else..
Rosalie was cheated on once, and we all know what happened to her last 'betrothed'.
Tumblr media
You and Bella on a date :
Bella *smiles at the majestic view before you* : "Thanks for bringing me here. It's beautiful.*
You *suggestive wiggling of eyebrows* : "You know what would make this all better ?"
Bella *oblivious* : "No. What ?"
You : "Your lips on mine." *wink*
Bella *shakes her head with a small smile of disbelief* : "I should have known." *still takes you by surprise by kissing you*
Bella likes that you are ongoing and are not afraid to speak your mind.
She would pretend she doesn't, but you would make things more interesting.
And it would end up with her acting more confident too.
Tumblr media
Alice can see the future, she sometimes knows when you're going to flirt with her and lets it happen, or even flirts first sometimes.
You *smile* : "Do my eyes deceive me ? Or did a literal goddess just grace me with her presence ?"
Alice *smiles back knowingly* : "My little flower. I've seen my future, and it was perfect."
You *ark a quizzical eyebrow at her* : "Really ? What was so perfect about it ?"
Alice *looks you right in the eyes and grins* : "It was you. You are perfect."
....That was smooth.
Alice would like your flirty personality from the start and would not hesitate before flirting back.
She would also not be very jealous, she would understand if your personality was like this.
What she wouldn't allow however is you actually falling in love with someone else. Your heart is for her and her alone to enjoy.
Tumblr media
Emmett *reading the newspaper*
You *entering with a new dress you had bought especially for him/did not notice Carlisle seating next to him* : "~Hey Emmett. What do you think ? On or *notices Carlisle* offfffffff....? Fuck."
Emmett *tries not to burst out laughing* : "...I mean, I love it. Oh, sorry..You wanted Carlisle's opinion ? *turns towards Carlisle with a sly smile* : What do you think, dad ? On or off ? I can't decide.."
You *run upstairs*
Carlisle *gives his son a disapproving glare* : "...Emmett. Go apologize to her right this instant."
Emmett *chuckles knowingly* : "Wait a minute..Here comes the good part."
You : "EMMETT CULLEN ! GET YOUR BUTT UPSTAIRS OR YOU WON'T SEE ME OUT OF THAT DAMN DRESS !"
Emmett *laughs* : "Yes, ma'am." *winks at Carlisle* "I wouldn't tell you to get out but..."
Carlisle understood and was out in a flash.
Emmett likes that you are not afraid of being assertive in the relationship. He is usually the one who flirts and jokes around, so he likes having someone else doing his job.
He would get used to it pretty quickly.
You : "Hey, handsome. Did anyone ever tell you that you glow ? You're like a rainbow after a rainy day.."
Edward *smiles* : "And you are like lightning."
You : "Really ? Why ?"
Him : "You are a light in the dark.."
You : "Aww.."
Him : "And loud."
There was absolutely no sexual innuendo behind that last part, and it made it even funnier for you when you answered with a devilish smile.
"~Only for you, darling.."
Edward's jaw almost hit the floor.
He was born in an era where courtesy and chivalry were the only kinds of 'flirting'.
With time, he learned to adapt and even became a rather big fan of many human things, but he still has trouble understanding standard modern pick-up lines.
But, once he does, he will be smug about it. I just know it.
Edward *magical wave of wonderfully voluptuous and well-kept hair* : "You make my heart beat."
You : "...You don't technically have a heart."
Edward *smiles* : "Exactly. You gave me one. And it beats whenever you are around."
You *laugh whole-heartedly* : "...That was so cheesy and sweet. You almost gave me a heart attack. But, I'll take it."
