EPITHET WEEK!! (Mostly) All art I did✨

I forgot to post it here individually on tumblr so here's the whole thing

Day 1 — Prison of Plastic!! Have a friendly purple man :)

Day 2 & 3 — Mundie and Inscribed!! They are being besties ur honor

Day 4 — Favorite S1 Arc!! The scene that made me love Sylvie more for some reason!

Day 5 — Banzai Blasters!! I wanted to do Bliss Ocean as well but Darkstar and Flame has my heart 💜

Day 6 — OC TIME!! I had to go all out for my bastard child Vincenzo... Excited to use them on my campaign soon!

Another miscellaneous headcanon!

So in the past, the enrollment age for the Banzai Blasters used to be 15-16 but the barons being them decided to lower the age to 13. Why? Because two reasons

1: More members means more money (obvi) but they weren't getting enough members fast enough since kids would probably be getting their permits or their first jobs and thirteen year olds wouldn't be doing any of those things

2: They're thirteen year old so expect a attitude and most would join to either channel their anger or just cause shit (plus lets face it, middle schoolers can be scary)

Now how would this relate to Gio and The Boyz? Personally I think he joined when he was about like 14-15 (with everyone else being a year younger than him), him joining because its a bad guy corp. and thinking it'd be a positive way for kids to channel their energy (when its clearly not) . And as for The Boyz, crappy home lives and wanting to belong with a group, what their situations are exactly? Dunno buddy but my thoughts for darkstar it'll make kinnies and fans hate me

(It all has to do with him and his uncle, who is not only a banzai baron but also the reason he joined)

Darkstar: Little Dark Age - MGMT

I like how the song feels... hazy and confusing. It feels like a lull in a person's life from which they emerge better, stronger. Especially the bridge,

"I grieve in stereo, the stereo sounds strange I know that if you hide, it doesn't go away If you get out of bed and find me standing All alone, open-eyed Burn the page, my little dark age"

It makes me think a lot of what Darkstar was faced with. A bleak future from a pointless tragedy, the knowledge that SOMETHING has to change now else it will never get better, how the knowledge of StarClan's pending punishment sort of isolates her from the feelings of her Clanmates.

She has allies, like Volepelt, who she can't understand. She has supporters who still don't 'get it' like Spiketail who she can't empathize with. Both all alone AND open-eyed, if that makes sense

Cloudtail, Ferncloud, Ashfur: To The Blade - Everything Everything

This song means EVERYTHING to me when it comes to them, dude.

That gentle opening teleports me to the exact moment in BB!Cruel Season where Ferncloud is told that Ashfur tried to kill the Three, the way her mind is certainly racing, scrambling to comb through every interaction she's had with him, trying to piece it together so it makes sense, and then that HARD DROP

It sends me back to TNP, the death of Brindleface, little baby Ashkit, how she had to do the relay race with Elderberry, raising him and seeing him grow up into a loyal warrior

And Cloudtail too, thinking about Ashpaw's adolescence, wondering where it came from, if he failed him, if he didn't properly raise his best friend's little brother properly.

The growing possessiveness in Ashfur and the commitment to the Code that eventually makes him the impostor

To The Blade was written by EE to be a song about a person whose semi-distant relative (cousin, uncle, estranged brother) joined some kind of radical group, terrorists, alt-righters, incels, etc, and finds out about it through some kind of violent attack. A bombing or a murder, y'know.

It's about how you can never really get closure, and how attempting to understand it will only make it all more painful. It's about the vague feeling that if someone so close to you DID such horrible things, then, what stopped you? What was different about you and them? Could you have saved them?

"There's a thing that you always said and it is no words"

It's their song to me. It's the song about this little unit of cats.

Lizardstripe, Bluestar, Oakheart: We Both Reached For The Gun - Chicago

There's a full amv in my head to this one for Bluestar's trial scene. Billy Flinn (Lawyer) is Lizard, Roxy (Defendant) is Blue, the reporter woman is Oakheart in a fake mustache. The narrator in the opening is Oakheart WITHOUT the fake 'stache. The other reporters alternate between legitimately curious StarClan Jury and Thistle Law supporters.

The first bridge ("Oh yes oh yes oh yes we both--") is Bluestar awkwardly doing a complicated little dance (implied that Lizard taught it to her) that the jury fumbles repeating the first time, but by the end of the song they PERFECTLY repeat the dance.

The final "Both Reached For theeeee guuuun" is sung by Thunderstar, a massive godlike-figure who was just hanging out observing in the background for most of the song. He is a patron of Justice and Judgement, so him repeating this line is symbolizing that they successfully convinced the majority of the jury.

All that's left is for Lizard to paint the Thistle Law supporters in a bad light in another song lmao

Runningnose: Snuff Out The Light - Emperor's New Groove

Another one I've got a whole AMV in my head about. I can imagine the whole story of Brokenstar's Cataclysm to this song, and honestly I listen to it on basically every bus ride because of that lmao

The song escalating is his schemes succeeding. First, convincing Brokenpaw to leverage Raggedstar to install him as Cleric ("Studied well, I learned the trade"), helping Brokentail hide his murder ("Every wrinkle soon be gone"), coming up with new and ghastly ways to win fights ("I've really stopped at nothing"), and the musical interlude just before the climax is him poisoning Marigoldkit and chuckling triumphantly as they have a good excuse to exile Yellowfang for getting in their way.

The final part is the WindClan Massacre as they stream into camp. In particular "CROCODILES AND CARRION BEASTS" is Blackfoot about to bite Deadfoot and breaking his fang on the gauntlet, and "JOIN US IN THE COMING FEAST" is Tangleburr blocking the exit with a mauled Stoneclaw under her claws.

Hollyleaf: Fishies - The Cat Empire

Something about the mythological references, the way it seems like the singer is trapped somehow, the way it feels excited and desperate. I don't have citations for this one but something here clicks for me.

YOUR KEVIN AND MORNINGSTAR ART I always thought they were cool parallels and how different in the way they affected Gwen if that makes sense? like micheal was an enemy Gwen was fooled by at first bc he seemed like Kevin but better on the surface (kind of a cruel way to make Kevin jealous too but we r being Gwen apologists today. she did nothing wrong) but she had to kind of grow up in a way and realize he was facetious. she kind of had to grow up to be with Kevin but in doing that she grew out of darkstar as an enemy and after that his entire fight with her is pitiful begs for her attention. idk sorry for ranting. btw I love how you've been drawing Kevin lately. anyway idk how to end this.

ALSO YOUR SO SO RIGHT. just the way he's used in contrast with kevin is so so fun. i love how much their characters contrast eachother - like how darkstar projects that he's caring and loving in order to manipulate gwen, but in reality he is uncaring towards her and just wants her power. to contrast how kevin pretends to be cold and uncaring but in reality loves her for her !

I also love him in the aggregor arc, there's so much parallels with him and kevin. like how kevin essentially does what darkstar did to gwen at the start of the series. and how he, out of all people has to be a voice of reason to tell gwen that kevin's fucked up !! ough it's so good

Banzai Blasters Headcannons

This is just some headcannons I have for Gio's boys, this will mostly have stuff about what I think their names are and what kind of stuff they like, obviously none of this is canon but just what I personally think the boys are like.

First off- the only ones with a canon names

Carcrash/Fred Donaldson

Has a pet dog, her name is Twix (and yes his dog is named after the candybar)

17 years old

Knew Ben way before he joined the Banzai Blasters because they're in band together, Fred is a trombone

Actually really good at art (mostly draws realism)

Him and Ben are best friends but are constantly teasing eachother

Has to have a fan on to fall asleep but hates being cold so he has a LOT of blankets and pillows

Ben

Has a bullet journal where he loves to write about all his "evil" Banzai missions

Just loves to listen to music and stare out his window while just chilling

In marching band, he's a trumpet

18 years old

Writes poetry, mostly about nature

He's the most creative of the group tbh

Now time for some fan-made names,

Flamethrower/Damien

Is a senior in highschool

Probably the smartest of the Banzai Blasters, which still isn't that smart but better than the others

Also has been a Banzai Blaster the longest out of the group

Became a cheerleader so he could support his brother's football games more

Crusher/Matthew

Lives out in the country, but not on a farm

He does have a garden though

Usually just called "Matt"

19 soon to be 20 years old

His mom and dad don't know he's a part of the Banzai Blasters yet, but wouldn't approve if they did know

The only reason he joined was so he could spend time with Giovanni

Has two cats

Spike/Alexa

Punk girl with a leather jacket (that does have spikes on it)

Her and Crusher often argue on who loves Giovanni more, but they're still friends

Is part of a really shitty metal band that practice in her garage

Is 18

Her father doesn't like her being a part of the Banzai Blasters but doesn't do much to stop her

Lives on coffee

Darkstar/Parker

WILL cry if something happens to his minecraft dog named Lucy (short for Lucifer)

17 years old (younger than Carcrash by 4 months)

Still in high school

Goes to the same school as Flamethrower

Pizza w/ soda for breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Can't fully controll his epithet [Binary] yet but when he can controll it he just uses it for memes

Totally runs a meme account online
