Hey remember how I said the cast of EF4 rather than the much more suitable cast of EF2 has been rotating in the microwave of my brain? Well, here's some art I got from @cyellolemon of two of those unauthorized fucking blorbos!
On the left we've got Sayaka. A high school student with a little bit of a temper and a whole lot of passion. She stands up for her friends and for what she believes in! Not that standing up does much, given she's very short and probably up on a cardboard box in this picture. Has a meddlesome streak that she's very bad at covering up with lies about how not meddling would become inconvenient for her. She's also very easy to fluster and has a bit of a complex over whether she's actually a good person or not, mainly fueled by the fact that she has another personality who is an active-duty yakuza princess, but that's neither here nor there.
On the right, here's Goro. You know it and you love it, the weird freak boy archetype. This one even gets to be canonically transgender unlike all those predecessors who dwell in headcanon. This one's an overworked idol who decided to incorporate his eternal exhaustion into his image, launching his solo career away from a shitty talent manager. He's got a terrible personality, but manages to get along with others anyway because he has good intentions. He's very clever, just not very genuine- He can solve a problem for you without ever letting on that he's trying to help. The kind of dude who will recount suffering atrocities you could never even imagine, while grinning and kicking his feet.
As you can maybe infer from what I've said about each of them and meddling... Yeah, as a duo, they're prone to stuff like "solving the 7 mysteries of the school and somehow managing to foist all the credit on a third party". But hey, it'll give the journalism club a boost in membership, and taking the credit themselves would be a huge pain.
also i'm watching a stormchasing video on the tornado that hit rolling fork mississippi like two weeks ago and like. this shit happened when it was pitch black outside. you can literally only see the tornado when the lightning from the storm illuminates it. they are so lucky it didn't change direction and get their asses
Okay, folks, tonight is gonna be looking pretty scary out there. They just updated the torcon to a 9 out of 10 in some areas, including from Little Rock Arkansas to Memphis Tennessee stretching down almost to Greenville along with a second bullseye spot up towards Cedar Rapids stretching to St Louis. What that means is, these areas in particular are highly likely to not only have tornadoes, but possibly strong, long lived ones. And even if you aren't in these specific zones, there's a large area of a 7 out of ten
Credit to the weather channel for this one, got it from their Twitter. That's how serious this one is, y'all. Anyone in the path or anyone you know who is in the path, stay safe, be weather aware, and be ready to make a run to wherever your safe spot is from storms.
me spending way too much time researching tornado outbreaks in minnesota all for the purpose of giving adam some backstory in this fic i’m writing in what little free time i have is just proof that i am so so normal about him. i am not insane
you know what we need around here? less praising of donal's mat *at the expense of* barney's mat (and vice versa, though i haven't seen too much of that) and more acknowledgement that they BOTH did/are doing a great job and we're lucky to have/to have had BOTH of them!
i keep seeing stuff like "donal's mat feels so much more like book!mat, he's so much more lighthearted and likable, he feels like an inherently good person who just makes stupid decisions whereas barney's mat felt like an inherently selfish person" which is so unfair to say because 85% of barney's screentime was dagger-influenced mat. he never had the chance to play a more lighthearted version of mat! and judging by the snippets of Lighthearted, Selfless, Hero-Who-Doesn't-Think-He's-A-Hero Mat we got in the first two episodes (think of him charging weaponless into battle to save his sisters!!!!), i'm sure he would've done a great job, just as i'm sure donal would've done a great job with a darker dagger-influenced mat.
i totally get it's a natural instinct to compare and contrast the two portrayals, but personally i find them both equally great and feel an emotional cohesion between the two! at their core, barney's mat and donal's mat absolutely feel like the same person to me. in my opinion the difference in s1 vs. s2 mat is less because of the actor and more because of the fact that the character spent most of one season influenced by magical evil and most of the other being himself.
hello T-Waggzner, i was wondering if the EF4 tornado that hit Tusculoosa + the other various tornadoes that absolutely ravaged alabama in 2011 interrupted or affected the filming of marble hornets at all
Hey guys! In case you weren't aware, Arkansas was hit by a massive tornado today (3-31-2023). This included areas of Little Rock, Stuttgart, and Wynne.
A picture of the damage to the Wynne high school:
A "before and after" picture from West Little Rock:
And a picture of the tornado in question:

Guys this thing was fucking massive (a 3 on the Enhanced Fujita scale as of 4-2-23, with the possibility of being bumped up an EF4), and it's done so much damage here. One of the news stations, KATV, has partnered with the Red Cross to accept donations for disaster relief. Please consider donating if you can, and if you can't, spread it the link around.
In the interest of full disclosure, it's worth noting that this is nowhere near where I live, and my family was not affected by it. I'm just trying to help out my fellow Arkansans.
Please note that the Red Cross is not a religious organization.
Link for donations
If you show me a receipt or proof of donation, I'll write you something even.
Update I: Added some more pics of the damage + the tornado itself
Update II: NLR electric says that some people could go a week without power (x)
Update III: Here's some information on Red Cross cards and how to use them (x)
Update IV: The storm carried a street sign thirteen miles before dropping it. (x)
Update V: Footage taken from inside the tornado. CW blood. Do not attempt this. Everyone involved survived and nobody was hurt too badly. (x)
Update VI: Added more pictures and text to the post itself, as well as this link to the news broadcast from the day in question. (x)
Update VII:
WE DID IT GUYS
Holy shit everyone thank you so much! I honestly cannot explain how much I appreciate you guys sharing and donating. This means so much to me. If you guys could continue sharing this around (and donating if you can), I'd appreciate it--there are still people who need help. I'll keep reblogging this for the next few days for good measure though.
