Definitely!

Mushroom monsters can take on just about any breed, really. "Purebred" ones, that almost perfectly resemble a specific type, are a bit less common nowadays. Morell's mom can be considered a purebred blue milk cap. His dad however, is a mix and mash of so many different breeds that no one can tell for sure what types are in him.

As such, Morell may look like a blue milk cap from a distance, even a pixie parasol or Australian entoloma. But then, as you get closer and see the spots on him, it becomes unclear what he could be.

When Aro saved Jane and Alec from being burned alive, he ran from Italy to England, right? That means he went a distance of like 2000 kilometers in less than the time it takes to die via witch burning. How fast was he going in relation to the speed of an average vampire?

I did the maths, and in order to move faster than the human eye can see vampires have to be able to run at 61 390 km/h. So, if my math checks out then Aro could have gotten there in a few minutes, with plenty of time to spare. This website offers 1600 km (well, 1588 km, but I rounded up) as a plausible distance between Volterra and London.

This calculator informs me that it would have taken Aro 1 minute and 34 seconds to get there.

That's... probably not correct.

Within the world of Twilight vampires don't seem to be as fast as that. Edward is concerned he'll be seen if he runs on the road, but there is reason to believe he is not actually as fast as he believes, in which case his understanding of how fast vampires go is skewed.

It could be Bella's vision isn't as good as she believes, as she is the only human through whose eyes we ever see vampires move fast this makes her our only source. Maybe she has poor movement tracking (or whatever the technical term is).

But, distance does seem to matter some extent to vampires, the world isn't big enough for them to be as fast as that. Although, if Jane and Alec really were about to be killed when the scout realized they were in trouble, then a ten-minue margin of him running to Volterra, two minutes, telling Aro, five minutes, and Aro running back to England, two minutes, gives the human villagers plenty of time to douze Jane and Alec in lighter fluid and light the match. Ten minutes is just enough time to lose consciousness when burning at the stake.

So who's to say. Aro got there in time, that's certainly the important part.

I will say this, just because the vampire scout got wind of Jane and Alec's impending doom, doesn't mean they were being carried to the bonfire at that moment. There might have been a trial, or internal strife among the villagers, or maybe it was raining (this is Britain) and they had to wait until the next day to burn them.

They're fictional, you get to decide.

Would you say Dumbledore is Walter White?

No.

Walt is driven primarily by ego. Even very early in in Season One, we see that there were other options Walt could have taken. He could have borrowed money from Hank and Marie, he could have taken the money from his former partners, he could have gone to his mother, etc.

Walt has this pervasive need, even from the beginning, to support himself and his family through this and later he wants to be a name. He wants to be known, respected, and feared, and becomes Heisenberg.

Walt deeply cares what others think of him throughout the series.

Dumbledore doesn't give a flying fuck what others think of him. He purposefully models himself as an eccentric and is often lambasted because of this. Dumbledore takes actions he knows to be morally wrong because he can justify them to himself, never mind what anyone else thinks. Walt takes actions he knows to be morally wrong because his ego will stand for nothing less at the end of the day.

Walt could never do what Dumbledore did with Harry any more than Dumbledore could do any of what Walt did with Jesse. The closest character, Snape (a Death Eater who ends up in Dumbledore's influence) is forced to fully commit himself to Albus and not truly be a Death Eater (where with the Walt comparison, it's more as if Walt himself became a Death Eater in order to support his family).

No, he doesn't need any.

Social media are kept to connect to others. Sure, you can catch the news, or keep up with your weird interest, but fundamentally the purpose of social media is to connect to others.

More, it's to allow others to connect to you.

Aro is an insatiably curious person, but I imagine the connecting part of it would give him pause. Yes, these platforms are wonderfully new and exciting, but it's very contrary to the whole Volturi ethos to create a social media profile. They're supposed to be secret from humans, living completely apart. You can't secluded from humans and on social media at the same time. It's hypocritical, and I don't see what he gains from it. The success formula behind social media is largely based on humans' desire to connect to others as well as to our addiction to notifications. Put simply, Aro isn't Zuckerberg's demographic.

This isn't the hill I'm dying on, could very well be the man has a guilty pleasure. It's mostly just that I'm not seeing it. Especially not in recent years when the extent to which these social media are spying on us. Sure, Aro could get a VPN, create fake emails that can't be traced back to him, and publish absolutely nothing, but... what exactly does he gain from having an Insta?

I do imagine Aro has a Jstor account.
