We are entering the season of the Yew. Eihwas the Death Rune represents the letter Y and is connected to the yew tree. The yew has been a symbol of death in many cultures since ancient times. They also represent immortality and rebirth because these graveyards trees can live for centuries. The inner part of the tree slowly dies and it sends up daughter trees abound the perimeter growing from the inside out. The death tree is also the sacrificial tree, the place of shamanic death and initiation. All parts of the yew are toxic except for the red “berry” surrounding the seeds. Taxus (yew’s scientific name) and toxin share the same root. - - #poisonpath #poisonousplants #yewrune #eihwaz #shamanicdeath #banefulherbs #treeteachers #plantlore https://www.instagram.com/p/CjV7ipoLyPU/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Good morning, friends! The rune for this week is Eihwaz!
Eihwaz is the rune of longevity, endurance, spiritual vision, initiation, strength, and transcendence. Like the Yew tree, you are strong. You can handle whatever obstacles come your way this week. Some of you may be surrounded by those that are hostile or malignant, but keeping your goal in sight will help you prevail.

Asking Hel what I should focus on today and she sends me Eihwaz, which is a rune of the yew tree, Yggdrasil, Immortality, and the timeless mysteries of life and death.
I find this kinda coincidental since I just started reading a book about Death; the cultural, scientific, and historical aspects. It’s called Death: A Graveside Companion edited by Joanna Ebenstein.
I know ‘Death’ doesn’t always mean literal death. It’s often a symbol of change, rebirth, and self reflection.
In the context of TODAY, I have a big conversation I need to have with my boss on my availability and treatment at work and I think this is Hel saying that change is good and that she is on my side and that she wants me to live my life to the fullest, not letting people step all over me. This is my personal interpretation. Maybe Hel is asking me to look at my life and ask myself what I want to see and how I can accomplish this.
Loki showed me four runes this morning. They were for me... and for you. The center candle casts light on the entire altar. To the right of His statue, in a shadowy grey black, I saw Laguz, then Sowilo, then Teiwaz, and then Eihwaz. Laguz is associated with, amongst other things, life force/life energy. Sowilo and Teiwaz are both associated with victory. And Eihwaz, endurance.
"I'm proud of you. You're strong..." I heard Him whisper.
Laguz - life force/life energy, intuition, creativity, memory, psychic powers/premonition
Pay close attention to dreams, visions, and premonitions -- you'll find answers there. And trust your intuition. Your instincts are better than you're giving yourself credit for. You will be rewarded for your loyalty, endurance, and sacrifices.
And by the way, I'm proud of you... all of you... You're strong...
