Steven being the only one with an okay-ish parent is meannn. Gave the other champions either trauma or daddy/mommy issues that won’t get resolved, but Steven gets to have an actual dad lmao

Also I really like the idea that Iris’ parents were teen parents/very early twenties that didn’t think they could handle the responsibility of a child or didn’t want to put their life on hold for her

The way I see it happening is that Iris gets asked to be in an interview, perhaps 5-7 years after she became champion. It’s one of those interviews where the celeb gets asked about their life, the significant events that have happened, how they got to fame, etc.

She mostly talks about her life with Drayden, how she trained under him and learnt what she knows from him. Even sharing some of her version about the events in BW and BW2. But when she gets asked about her REAL parents (which she was annoyed about, cause Drayden was her parent figure and they’re disregarding him with that question) she only mentions how they abandoned her in Blackthorn city when she wasn’t even a year old, and that nobody knew who her parents were. But she ended the question by saying she’s grateful it happened because she wouldn’t have got to meet Drayden if they never did

I say her parents only found out because let’s be real, the champions are celebrities and celebs always have bat shit crazy fans who invade personal business. And now they just got a bunch of info about Iris’ life. So a group of her fans on Discord, or whatever the Pokémon equivalent of it is, probably found her biological parents and got in touch with them, cause this type of stuff always happens on a discord server 💀

Imagine the drama that occurs after this, titles and headlines are something like “Champion Iris of Unova gets in contact with her bio parents!! 😱😱😱 (NOT FAKE!!!)”

Very last thing I want to add, but Iris has definitely listened to Leon rant about his ‘dad’ trying to reconnect with him after he became famous. So now she has that fear that her own bio parents are trying to do the same thing with her

No but cjmxnx before the interview, that's where Leon and Iris talked abt stuff tho, and god she doesn't want that, she's already overthinking abt all the different things happening if she ever meets her bio parents

And then the interview happened, the question has been asked, and suddenly a few days later the Champions are messaging her, saying how they've been seeing a lot of news articles abt her parents, how there's a ton of posts going online how these two specific peeps were so adamant and so insistent that they're Iris' parents, and they sent a pic to the group chat and god the fucking resemblance is uncanny and she fucking hated it

There's like a million thoughts running in her head. Maybe those are just edits, maybe they just dyed their hair purple to get clout that they're related to her, or maybe it's just coincidence like how it was coincidence she and Leon looks related to each other. But then these two people wanted to talk to her, they were so insistent she's honestly annoyed by it. She asked for the other Champions to be there for her at least, in case smth actually happens, she doesn't trust these two ofc, and she knows her grandpa will be there for her and the Unova League and her friends too, but it's best to have more people to intimidate them yknow

And in a more secluded part of Opelucid, or maybe even at their own home, Iris invited the two. Drayden, the rest of the Unova kids, and even the Champions were there. But the two knows there's more people there, more Pokémon than they can see. They could see the Mistralton Gym Leader flying w her Vullaby around Opelucid for a while now. Sees the Nimbasa Gym Leader heading towards the mall, but she gave them a side eye as she went. They saw the Elite Four roaming around Opelucid as well. And while they had no plans to fight (ofc, they only have two Pokémon between them, they aren't even trained, and they wanna fight literal champions?), it still made them uneasy

Ough yo pls Iris is there just glaring at them, and the two are so uncomfortable yknow, bc for one, Drayden was also glaring at them. At Iris' right was Diantha also looking at them w a bored expression, but it's the one where the champions know it's best not to cross her. Behind her were Leon, Hilbert, and Cynthia, w Hilbert having his arms crossed, glaring at them, he honestly looks terrifying. And Iris just sighs, she'd rather get this over w than to prolong it even more.

She asks them if it's real, that they are her parents, they have no proof ofc, but shit man they're just so goddamn insistent. And they told her ofc, told her everything, why they left her at Blackthorn, how they were young and stupid when they had her, and that kinda set Iris off, "so I was an accident?" God that shut them up. Technically. She was. They didn't want her. That's why they left her, because they were so young when they had her, and they were terrified, and in a spur of the moment, they decided to leave her in Blackthorn, hoping someone would take care of her there.

Iris didn't even want to hear the rest of it. Now they're back? After everything, now they're back? Why? Because she's suddenly a strong and famous Champion? Is this what Leon meant? Of course, how could she be stupid too, ofc this was what he meant. And even tho she already knows, she asked them, asked them why they suddenly wanna see her again, why just now?

Her "mother" hesitated, but her "father" was quick w his response, "we just wanted to see if you're alright!"

Liar.

Iris smiled. The one Diantha always taught her and Hau when they're finally done with the conversation, but didn't want to be rude. But she did want to be rude. God she wanted to scream and yell and lash out. "Well. That's sweet of you. But I'm doing great. Better than I could've been, honestly." She said through her teeth, "you two are free to leave now."

But idk,,, imagine,,, imagine if her father got low-key pissed bc they really thought Iris would accept them, and they can finally live the life they wanted, the life of wealth and fame together w their daughter. "Iris, listen—"

Tho as he stood up, both Lance and Drayden stood up as well, block his view of Iris, the Dragon specialists having looks that are downright homicidal, and they'd rather not cross them, as they know how Lance could actually get.

They finally relented, as Iris' mother tugged on her husband's shirt, telling him that's enough, they're powerless against the Champions. They know that. And just imagine her looking at Iris, smiling sadly at her, tears in her eyes, and tells her how she doesn't fault her for being like this, as they probably deserve this, and told her that despite it all, she's happy she found a family for herself, a family that really loves her, and before they left, she told Iris she was proud of her. Smth her so called father never said, as he left without another word.

And just jcmxnxmx after that tho, they watch them leave, hopefully they won't return again, and Iris is there crying, being held in Drayden's arms as she sobs in his chest, god that was smth yknow, that really was smth hahah she never wanted to relive that, never wanted to see them again, never wanted to hear word of them again, she doesn't want them, not like they wanted her too, and she already has a family. And her family, despite them not being related to each other, is so much better than her so called parents.

(1/2) How do you feel about Masters Cyrus? I feel like their portrayal of him is very complex and humanizing. It seems like his has resolve cracked after two defeats. The darkrai episode was tough for me to play through, because it felt like Cyrus had finally reached his limit in it and wanted to be dead (feeling nothing in a blank void forever). But “a day with darkrai” was so illuminating! And his latest appearance- he and his commanders

AUUUGH I LOVE MASTERS CYRUS.....like the development they're giving him is so unexpected but so welcome imo and i think it's deserved for his character. cyrus is sort of unique wrt masters in that way - he's not redeemed in his source game, but they're not at all playing him as a pure villain the way they do with characters like giovanni or ghetsis. which. makes sense. cyrus may not change by the end of dppt, but it feels as though he only doesn't because his own suffering is too woven into his core and he genuinely can't see any other way out. he's as destructive to the self as he is to everything around him and while he's 100% gone too far, i don't think he's a lost cause as a person and masters is recognizing that!!

the darkrai episode in particular was SO interesting and illuminating in contextualizing his character - it really shows, in a definite sense, that at least in this canon, cyrus is absolutely depressed and is likely grieving. i still cannot BELIEVE the line about how people only cherish their bonds so much because they haven't felt the pain of them ending yet. that's. THAT'S LIKE. HEY. WHAT'S GOING ON MAN. idk maybe i give him too much slack because i find him highly relatable as a character, but that arc made it obvious that cyrus genuinely thinks of himself as alone and incapable of being understood by anyone else - he connects with darkrai because they feel very similar at their centers. a day with darkrai is SO sweet tbh and i think it really does show that they intend to eventually redeem cyrus because. he's just. hanging out. and he's ok with you hanging out too. like to me that's kind of a massive step for him, to tell you that it's ok if you'd like to visit darkrai, that he doesn't mind. and that's because the protagonist is willing to understand darkrai, is willing to experience its nightmares in order to be closer to it. they're willing to be open to something cyrus likes and he doesn't hesitate to respond in kind. he's not acting as an antagonist here, he's not giving his speeches, he's actually happy, i think, that someone is willing to listen to him without the grandiosity about it.

and finally i SO agree his cameo has to mean more is coming for him - it's so out of nowhere and unexpected, like his inclusion is entirely unnecessary so i HAVE to believe he'll be back soon. and i genuinely hope we see him connecting with his commanders bc i love them so much as a found family TAT also please PLEASE rotom sync pair!!! because i like to use him reconnecting with a rotom as defining his growth and healing - all signs point to him losing his rotom and that shaping his current grief, so being able to open his heart again to one would be a turning point for him imo PLUS. PLUS. since elesa is already a sync pair with a base forme rotom, his will be unique in some way if they picked it for him!!! it would probably be one of its formes, most likely heat since that's what he uses in the battle tower in bdsp, but it COULD be something else. my favorite ideas are either shiny (!!!!!) or a rotom that can change formes sort of like steven and deoxys. BUT WHATEVER THE CASE i would be so happy to see him pair with rotom and what that story could mean for his character.

So one of the things that keeps swirling around in my head, post-Barbie movie, is how I want to rename our characters.

We've had these characters for years. Many of them are based off individual alters -- something Alicia didn't know we were doing, and something Alex figured out along the way.

Casper is Jazz, I'm Savin, Andrew is Mitchel, Jordine is Jordine, Alex is Jessica, etc...

But thanks to the Barbie movie, some of us related pretty heavily to Ken. For a multitude of reasons, even though he's an absolute dick in the movie.

And one of us joked about running with something like -- changing Jazz's name to Ken, changing Savin's name to Kenji, changing Mitchel's name to Kenneth....

Ken, Ken, and Kenji (Ed, Edd, and Eddy!).

Of course, the boys form like, a weird love triangle but not quite and honestly I'm proooobs avoiding the love triangle angle as much as possible since we discovered the wonderful world of polyamory. BUT.

Jazz has literally been named Jazz since we were like.... 12? years old? 13? Savin has been Savin since we were 14, Mitchel, Mitchel since....we were 23? 24? So some of our characters have literally had their names for 20 years.

It's really, really hard to switch to the new names. Also, not 100% sold on renaming Mitchel to Kenneth, either, because he sure as shit isn't going to let me shorten his name to Ken. And Ken, Kenneth, and Kenji doesn't have the same ring to it like Ed, Edd, and Eddy thanks to the extra syllable.

Also, writing a story where there are three characters, all with essentially the same name? That sounds almost nightmareish, doesn't it?

I can't fucking shake it, though. Some part of me (maybe multiple parts) really enjoy this idea. They're amused by it. Think it hilarious. Stupid, but hilarious.

Because like -- the whole point of these novels is to illustrate the fact that like, nature vs nurture? does have a role to play. And also the fact that these characters, at least for the "main" ones, are based on actual alters of ours. So naming them similar things plays into that a bit.

Because the main 3 are all Ken, but they're still different people. And each Ken was raised differently, and have their own inherit personality traits -- and if we plop them into different universes, even, you can see which parts of their personality remain the same, and which ones get shaped by that different environment...

We really started finding our voice as a writer thanks to fanfiction. And we want our original stuff to be an homage to fanfiction, in a way. Same set of characters, different stories including some or all of them. If it weren't for fanfiction, we wouldn't have the writing skills we do have.

either the undrawn/unfinished alternate designs i have for my demon characters (i have no examples sowwy) or Rot! Rot is somehow a Terraria oc. they're a swampy wizard and they have cursed flame hair and they're obsessed with death. they're supposed to have pretty specific markings that i keep on making more and more complicated, and their wizardy robe is supposed to be quite detailed. i don't have any pictures on hand of the robe but here's their face

23: Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?

i feel like that applies to a lot of my characters. that's kinda just how it goes with developing characters.

i'm assuming this question is in relation to their personalities and not their appearances so: i'll say Heidis! at the start it was more like she was a jerk because she just wanted to be, and she was more catty and rude unprovoked. she's a lot less malicious now. unprovoked cruelty has been replaced with self deprecation. she was gonna be more of a typical bratty heiress.

45: A character you no longer use?

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i made a steven universe oc i never did anything with + a while back i did redesigns of 3 old trolls i had (aricor, salpru, and an unnamed violet blood) but it didn't make me like them more unfortunately. i'll be selling those 3 sometime this year, and the SU oc has been up for grabs for a while now (if you are interested in any...... lmk)

I wanna talk about Steven Universe for a minute or two, I think I talked about it a little bit in a previous post of mine but I can’t remember.

My wife Allison introduced me to the show awhile ago. She would binge watch it and I would watch it with her, but I had no idea what was going on, who the characters were, the plot, the storyline, you name it. I just didn’t know. She would try to explain it to me but it would go right over my head because I had nothing to go off of.

I started it on my own a few months ago and I got to a point where I was like “meh” with the show and I didn’t know if I’d continue. Allison kept asking if I was watching it and I was like you know what, I need to get past this weird episode and I’m sure I’ll like it. It was just a character I didn’t like and he was like the main character in that episode and it was boring for me to watch.

I kept on watching and I just…. you ever find something and you want to protect it with your whole being? That’s how I started to feel about this show.

Steven: The most pure little being who all he wants is to be liked, wants friends, and wants to do his best with the Crystal Gems. He has found a place with them and all he wants is to control his powers and help win fights with them. His character development throughout the show is amazing and I can’t believe all the things he goes through. He grows so much as a person and I just want to protect him at all costs.

Connie: mY BABY. I loved Connie from the moment she came on screen. How she was just like “I have no friends, but you’re pretty cool, so I wanna be your friend.” She and Steven fit together so seamlessly and I loved their friendship so much. It was so inspiring. Her words of wisdom was always “We will do this together or not at all,” when it came to Steven. I think that shows true love, true friendship and ultimately true trust and kindness towards him.

Peridot: My angry little slice of pie. I absolutely love you. I am most like you in the entire show and I wouldn’t change it for the world. All she had to do was go on a mission to see how things were doing on Earth, and in the end ended up loving Earth so much and sided with the Crystal Gems. Her character development BY FAR was the best throughout the show, in my honest opinion. She went from taking orders from Home World and learning to love the planet, love the people around her and accepting that this was now her home. I don’t know what it is about her that made me love her so much and why I relate to her so much. I think because I was angry for so long about things out of my control. And in the end I found people in my life that made me not so angry anymore. I learned to love myself, and forgive myself for the things that I’d done wrong, just like she did. She was on a mission for Yellow Diamond and failed, and she learned that failure is just a part of life. And in the end she forgave herself. My angry little space Dorito, I love you ❤️

Lapis: You know, it took me a really long time to like Lapis. I barely remember her beginning story, even though I’m watching it for the third time I cannot remember where she began in the story. All I can remember is Steven healed her gem and she was able to see again. and that she was trapped in a mirror??? Either way, I began to really like her towards the end of the show when she came back to help everyone out with the Diamonds and stuff. It really showed how she changed and how much she actually did care about the Earth and the friends that she'd made.

Ruby and Sapphire: Together they are Garnet, and I think they're my favorite pairing in the entire show. I love Lapis' and Peridots friendship but Ruby and Sapphire just make my heart glow. So much so that me and my wife started to see ourselves as them, interchangeably. To the point where we now have ruby and sapphire engagement rings. I'm more like Ruby, hotheaded and easily angered, and Allison's more like Sapphire, usually calm and collected, but still has a side to her that is cold. Don't get me wrong, I love my wife to death, but if you piss her off she will give you the cold shoulder. I've seen it happen. As for Garnet, I absolutely ADORE her. The way she leads the Crystal Gems is so empowering and her leadership in general is amazing. Her relationship with Steven has always been pure, even when she's had to tell him he's wrong or that he needs to stay out of things. I think she truly taught him about love, and what it means to love someone. Because Garnet is a product of love between Ruby and Sapphire.

You have to remember, Steven's just a kid in the beginning of the show. He's only 13/14 years old, he's very impressionable and he learns so much about life from these gems that have come into his life, all because of his mom and dad.

I think that's all the characters I wanna talk abou s post is long enough as it is.

Pearl and Amethyst: Pearl... bugged me at the beginning. The way she held a grudge against Greg for falling in love with Rose and Rose choosing him instead of her, I get it, I really do. To have someone that you truly love choose someone else, it's heartbreaking. But the way she grew as a character made me really love her. She sort of became a motherly figure to Steven since he didn't have a mother growing up. She was always there for him, always giving him advice, and always trying to make sure he did the best he could, even if he didn't do it very well.

Amethyst: I love her since the beginning, her go with the flow nature and always just being down for whatever really inspired me. And I can relate to her a lot. When Garnet and Pearl are fighting, Amethyst is like..... an emotional sponge for the two of them. She soaks up their anger and sadness and she becomes angry and sad and feels like her family is broken. All she's ever known is Earth, all she's ever known is the Crystal Gems. That's her family, and when her family is fighting, she shuts down and I relate to that a lot. I've had a lot of previous toxic friendships that ended very badly, and during those long fights I would soak it up like a sponge and carry it around with me because I felt like... I can't let my family be broken. My friends were my family. I love them. But sometimes things just don't work out like you want them to.

I think that's all the characters I wanna talk about because this post is hella long. Sorry about that. I just... this show is so pure, it teaches so many lessons, it's made me a better person by being aware of how I treat people and how I talk to people. It's made me have more confidence in myself in the way I do things, whether that be work, life in general, friendships, family, etc. It's made me question so many things too. Where I fit in in life, how to be strong, how do I be strong when everything around me is falling apart? That sort of thing.

If you ever get the chance to watch this show... please do. Not just because I want to talk to someone about it, but because it's just overall one of the best shows I've ever watched. I don't know what I would do if they ever took it off streaming platforms, tbh I'd probably buy every season just because I need it in my life.

Anyway, if you read this whole thing, congrats, you're patient lol. This show is my comfort show, my favorite thing in the world, and I want to share it with so many people.

Hill’s sigh mirrored his own so much it was unnerving. “Okay.” She leaned forward and pressed a button on his desk. “Send in the first one.”

Hill flipped through the pages, making the already thin folder appear even smaller. “Not much of a starting point,” she said.

Nick leaned back in his chair. “No,” he agreed. The report from Stark’s A.I. was very brief, and the rest was just what the scavenging team managed to comb through from the quinjet debris. “The press will not be satisfied with that. And there is a key part missing. We deliver this to the Council, they laugh in our faces.”

Hill raised an eyebrow at him. “So our job is to make the folder thicker?”

“Our job is to understand what happened,” he replied. “So we can deliver them something slightly more coherent, and they can feed the reporters whatever they want.”

“And you think this will work?” Hill gestured to the room around them. Across the desk where she was sitting, on a perfect diagonal view from Nick’s eye, there was a single, empty chair. “Seems like a criminal interrogation.”

“Maybe it is,” Nick said. He wasn’t sure if the superficial report was an intentional cover up or just plain sloppiness – both were equally likely when you had people like Romanoff or Stark in the middle of an OP – but at the end of the day, it didn’t matter. There was a hole in the story, and the World Security Council didn’t deal with holes. “Look, I’m not thrilled by the prospect of spending my day here either, but there’s no postponing this. We can’t give them a chance to combine stories.”

“Right,” Hill said. “And I’m sure they’ll all be very… cooperative.”

“Hope you didn’t have any dinner plans,” Nick quipped.

Hill’s sigh mirrored his own so much it was unnerving. “Okay.” She leaned forward and pressed a button on his desk. “Send in the first one.”

“There isn’t much to tell,” Romanoff said, and, if Nick wasn’t sure there was something being hidden before, now he did. “I believe JARVIS sent you a detailed account, didn’t he?”

“Depending on what you consider ‘detailed,’” Nick replied. The report had extensively covered the material damage to the quinjet, as well as the information pertaining to AIM’s plan and how it related to it. It was just lacking in the “explanations” department, and it seemed to jump in key time periods between events very hurriedly. Either Stark’s robot was a shit storyteller, or the human factor (specifically the “what the fuck were your team of freaks thinking to let something like this happen, director?” factor) had been strategically avoided.

And there was the matter of the tapes. The security footage recovered from AIM’s quinjet seemed to cover just about every angle of the battle - that is, up until a point right where everything just faded to static before it returned just in time to record the crash.

“This is standard procedure,” he continued as Romanoff’s eyes studied him attentively. “Which, I’d like to stress, is actually a kind way to go about it.” Romanoff quirked an eyebrow at him. “The Avengers initiative isn’t the most popular plan SHIELD has ever come up with, agent. To the world, you might be celebrities, but a lot of people on the inside see you as - how did Banner put it? Oh, yeah - a time-bomb.”

Romanoff smiled. “We’ve made it work so far.”

“Only barely,” Nick said. Romanoff didn’t deny it, nor could she - ever since they had all decided to stay at Stark’s tower, after the battle of New York, Nick had kept his eye close on their performances, be it on the field or with the press, and though the initial animosity seemed to have lessened, they were still a far cry from a synchronized, united team.

The Council had been against them moving in together - there was just too much potential for the proximity to make things go south again - but Nick had argued in favor, and they ultimately decided to allow it. Nick himself knew he was making a risky bet, but at the end of the day, he figured a bunch of anti social people on the edge of normal society had a better chance of making it as a team if they could at least learn how to deal with each other on a friendly basis. And Stark putting the damn A on the tower was as close as he’d ever get to admitting he wanted the company, so Nick didn’t want to deny him it. Hill had a laugh at his expense, then, saying he was getting old and soft.

None of them knew about any of this, of course, and they would never find out. But if Nick Fury made a bet, he wanted to ensure it’d pay off, and crashing a quinjet belonging to one the world’s largest weapons manufacturers in the middle of rural property of the some of the richest people in America was far from a reward, especially while keeping potentially vital bits of information in the dark. That wouldn’t do, and he was determined to get the full picture of what had gone down, whether they liked or not.

“Why don’t you start at the beginning, agent?” Hill suggested.

Romanoff’s eyes blinked astutely before she smiled. “Of course,” she said, much more kindly than Nick would have anticipated. “It started at the fair.”

“I wouldn’t normally have come,” Dr. Banner said, straightening his glasses. “The events we get invited to, they're… not my usual scene.”

“Too many reporters?” Nick asked. He knew Banner wasn’t the press’ favorite target - Stark and Rogers, both recipients of huge celebrity fame way before anyone added superhero worship into the mix, were tied up for that position - but he also knew the Avengers in general were the go-to topic for any gossip show running out of material. The fascination with them pendulumed from healthy curiosity to obsessive speculation way too often for Nick’s liking.

“Too many people,” Banner said, with a nervous smile. “The other guy doesn’t like crowds. But AIM said they were interested in having me and Tony speak. ‘The science bros.’” He made air quotes. “Or something. And, well, it was a nice idea to hang on a science exposition. I looked through the flier, and there were some interesting exhibits.”

“The whole thing was just a blatant rip off of the Stark Expo. But you know how it goes – imitation, flattery, yadda yadda.” Stark leaned back in his chair and propped his feet up on the desk as if it was his office. “So, we get the invite, and, not going to lie, I was a little curious. Pep said we should make an appearance, smile a little, make niceties – but, well, you know me.”

Nick raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by the display. “We do?”

Stark smiled. “I don’t like to do things halfway. I’m just not built for it.” He shrugged. “So I decided to come, and I thought it would be good if everyone else came too, and that we should try out some of the exhibits together – team bonding, you know? Sometimes it’s nice.”

“Stark wanted to show off,” Barton said, taking a sip of his water. “He thought there was no way Hammer’s people could organize something on that scale, and he wanted to drag us all there to see it because he was sure it would end up being a huge mess.” He sighed. “I guess at the end of the day, he wasn’t wrong.”

Rogers’ jaw clenched so hard Nick thought he’d pull a muscle. “Everything went normally. We got there, took some pictures, got inside… Nothing out of the ordinary.” He looked at Hill. “But, like I said, this is all in JARVIS’ report.”

“Right,” Nick replied. He tilted his head to get a better look. Rogers was as tense as a wood board, and his effort to not let it show made things a lot worse. “I have to say, Cap, I was a little surprised to not get the usual report coming from you.”

Rogers shifted on the chair. “Tony—” He cleared his throat. “We, uh, we thought JARVIS would make one more quickly.” His eyes turned towards Fury, defiant. “From what I understand, every piece of information the Council needs should be in that file.”

“Need and want are two very different things,” Nick said. Rogers took a deep breath, and Nick couldn’t help but frown. “So, you guys started to mingle, right?” he asked, wanting things to get back on track. “That was when you decided to go to Hammer’s stand?”

“Yes. He… invited us.” He paused. “Well, Tony, at least.”

“Right,” Nick said. “But you also ended up going, right?” Rogers gave a reluctant nod. “Why?”

There was a moment of silence, and Rogers said, “It seemed like it could be an interesting experience.”

“Stark dared him to do it,” Thor stated bluntly. “Said Steven was probably too scared to lose to him.” He smiled, amused. Nick was fighting against the urge to underestimate him, but boy, was it hard. “It reminded me of some of my disputes with my brother, when we were both younglings and daring ourselves to attempt to steal Heimdall’s helmet.”

“Well, that’s a nice thing to hear about two adults who are constantly in charge of saving the world,” Nick deadpanned.

Thor looked at him disapprovingly. “They are worthy warriors,” he said. “They just… get a little wrapped up in their blind spots, sometimes.” Nick and Hill stared at him questioningly, and Thor looked away, coughing on his hand. “Uh, well, where was I? Right – the stand.”

“It was a silly concept – melt stuff with our new laser project, whoever melts the most wins, woohoo! - but I’ll admit it seemed like it could be fun. It took place in a separate room, though, and they were only letting two people in at once.” Stark straightened his tie, looking away from Nick for the first time since he walked inside the office. “So me and Cap decided to try it out.”

“Why just the two of you?” Hill asked, precise as a whip.

Stark stayed focused on his tie. “Well, I wanted to check out what was so great that Hammer was showing off in public. As for Cap, who knows? You should probably ask him.”

“So it was a spontaneous thing?” Nick pushed. “You didn’t ask him to come along?”

Finally, Stark looked at him. For a second, his expression was downright defiant. Then it all melted away in a shrug. “I might’ve. I wasn’t driving back home, you know? So I had a few drinks, and I was saying a lot of things, and maybe I asked if he wanted to try it out.”

“We heard you dared him,” Nick countered. Normally he wouldn’t put the cards on the table like that, but something in Stark seemed to favor a more direct approach.

Stark’s expression didn’t change. “Again, I might’ve. What’s life without a little challenge, right? But, still, if you want to know why he came in the stand, you should probably ask him.” His eyes darted towards the window, avoiding Nick and Hill. “Maybe he just… needed a distraction. He hates those things.” Nick tilted his head, noticing the strange thoughtfulness in his voice, but as soon as it came it was gone, and Stark was rambling at rapid fire speed again. “Anyway, I suppose this is where I get to the gas, right?”

Hill turned a page of the folder. “This is where the truth serum got them, right?”

Barton gave them a lopsided smile. “Stark would blow a fuse if he heard you calling it that,” he said. “But, yeah. Exactly.”

Now that I'm finished at work I can finally formulate some more coherent thoughts about the promo.

Ok so there's 1 important question that I think would change how I interpret the promo. Is the promo made from scenes from just the 2 upcoming episodes, or from the rest of the series? Because that makes a difference.

If it's from the 2 episodes:

There seems to be some sort of dream sequence thing going on with the floating house imagery, and we see Steven in his pajamas in multiple scenes.

And then we have the scene that had audio leaked, confirming that the leak is real.

Now if these are from 2 episodes then I'm thinking that the canoe scene and possibly the picnic scene are also dreams? Mainly because they don't seem to fit in anywhere else, and they occur in isolation without any repeated glances at each scene, unlike most of the other scenes in the promo.

And the hospital scene could either be another dream sequence, or, I'm thinking it might be related to the incident that was referred to in the leaked audio, though it isn't mentioned in the promo itself. I'm thinking the incident might happen (I won't state what it is to avoid spoilers), and even though everyone involved is alright they're taken to the hospital just in case, something sets Steven off while he's there, and that causes him to go pink and maybe he takes off into the woods instead of going home and tries to unpinkify himself or let off some steam?

He comes home the next day after finally turning back to normal, and his absence mixed with what had happened are why the gem's are so worried and agitated, which sets him off again leading to the "leave me alone" scene? Alternatively if the hospital scene is part of the dream issues then the scene with him fighting trees in the forest could come after the leak confrontation with him again trying to unpinkify or letting out some anger at inanimate objects instead of people. But the way he's remembering stuff from the main series finale seems out of place for a dream so I'm on the fence on that one. Plus it's the only scene where he's wearing clothes that aren't made up partially from his usual outfit or his pajamas. Even the picnic scene has his jeans and sandals which look a bit weird with his fancy shirt? That just leaves the ominous scene with him coming in from the rain while hiding his hand (there's the popular corruption theory but it could also be that his hand is now permanently pink or he's injured himself and can't heal for some reason because his powers are going haywire, or maybe he's just hiding something in his pocket honestly who knows??) which could occur later in that same episode or could happen at any time tbh. It could be part of the dream episode but it doesn't really fit that so I'm not sure... He's not wet during the scene that had the audio leaked with the gem's confronting him plus the weather is nice in that scene, so I don't think it's part of that either.

If these aren't from the same 2 upcoming episodes and are instead a bunch of random scenes from all 10 episodes then I have no idea what each scene could be related to. So at the moment I'm going to speculate that they're from 2 episodes for the sake of convenience in theorizing. The scene where he seems to be suffering from a flashback in a hospital is the one that's got me the most worried tbh.

At most my guess is that the picnic scene is a date set up by Steven that gets interrupted or ruined before Connie can get there. (I'll laugh if this is where wormy boy shows up as a random monster ngl sorry it'd just be too funny, though I doubt it)

Another thing that's worth noting is that in most of these scenes Steven is alone, like he seems very isolated with no other characters in frame, and the only time the gem's show up is as a group in 2 scenes, and in both Steven is seemingly trying to get away from them, and Connie only shows up on the phone. That's another reason why so many of the more random scenes strike me as parts of a series of dreams... Idk it's just got a very strange feeling to it.

Anyways, back to freaking out and waiting nervously for the episodes to come out.

Edit: The main reason I think that these are possibly the first 2 episodes is because 1) an episode about dream issues could account for the seemingly random assortment of scenes and all the screaming pretty well. The canoe scene in particular strikes me as like a mundane scene in a dream that gets interrupted with the terror of being pink for no reason hence his horrified reaction, and I could see a dream scene where Steven is nervous about a date with Connie and suddenly shenanigans ruin it, and he's shown waking up without his pajamas being ruined so I'm thinking an escalating series of dreams that get worse as they go and eventually affect him physically? Like maybe they start out more silly like going pink while camping, then a monster attacking mid-date, then his house gets suspended in space and he falls into the void, etc. And 2) nothing related to White Diamond or the worm monster is shown or even seemingly hinted at despite them being quite prominent in the intro, and I don't see how anything from the promo could be related to them without referencing them more directly, or how they could individually be relevant to what's going on with Steven’s mental deterioration. I could however see building stress causing Steven’s powers to go haywire, and when it starts to get dangerous maybe he turns to the diamonds for help figuring out how to control it in later episodes, leading to the pink white diamond, the rumored Spinel episode, and other stuff? Idk. That's all I have at the moment theory-wise, I guess we'll see what happens.

Okay but

So uh, I was just watching the playthrough of Five Nights at Freddy's by @therealjacksepticeye here, and his comments got me thinking.

Mostly the ones about Freddy being uncontrollable, with like no trigger to stop, unlike all the other animatronics.

That part got me some Steven Universe vibe. Particularly the same, or almost the same vibe White Diamond had when we only ever saw her a little at the end of Legs from here to Homeworld.

And that, in turn, gave me an idea about an AU... Or is that a cross-universe? I honestly have no clue. Tho it's probably an AU after all.

The point being, the whole diner would be something like "White Diamond's Pizza" instead of "Freddy Fazbear's Pizza".

And as for the character placement, I was thinking White could replace Freddy himself, cuz they're both main characters and hard to keep in check. AND because it takes them a lot of time to actually show up...

Then Yellow could be Chica, just because, you know, yellow, and also I've seen some redraws of YD and her Pearl as birds... Also because Chica's creepy face at cam 4A when she's very close is creepy AF and for some ridiculous reason reminds me of Yellow's expreccions from both Reunited and Change your mind.

Blue would be Bonnie, obviously, cuz the colour (again), and also cuz Bonnie seems to be the quietest of the three, and so is Blue. She kinda is the quietest type of anger, too. Especially if I was to compare to the other two - we all remember all of Yellow's tantrums, and White's agression towards Steven being himself and not Pink was also quite loud.

The last character in that part of the game is Foxy, and for him I was thinking either White's Pearl, or Pink, and I decided on White Pearl, even though Pink would make more sense being the last Diamond, and I'll explain myself a bit later.

Anyway, White Pearl would be Foxy, and it actually fits quite nicely.

Both Chica and Bonnie seem to have similar attack patterns, and work well together, much like Yellow and Blue, which leaves Freddy and Foxy for interaction. They don't interact much, but still each of them has their own side to attack. Like they're sharing. In White and White Pearl's case, White would just control her and get her to cover the other side for her.

Also I once saw a comic of a really pretty girl turning this and that way and then turning into a something spidery... It looked like she was doing that gymnastics pose, a Bridge, and she was walking just like that, and it was super creepy! That's how I think White Pearl would be running, cuz Foxy is actually the only one who moves on camera.

Now, speaking of Pink - I think it would make more sense to put her in Sister location part of the FNAF series, except not as Pink, but as Rose Quartz, and here's why.

Firstly, I believe I've seen a headcanon or something like that about her being somewhat related to Freddy, so that also goes along here.

Secondly, she's the one who wants to escape the prison she's in, along with her comrades. I mean, if Baby was happy, she wouldn't want to escape, right? And neither would Pink, if she was actually happy where she was. And turning into Rose was one of the ways to escape.

Then, her demeanor towards the Player. Baby is being really kind, she guides you, helps you through - except for that last part where she lures you to your death. Other than that she's the kindest horror game character I've met by far. Pink, or be it Rose, is also very kind to others. I think that one goes without saying, given how she welcomed everyone willing to join.

Actually, even Baby's murderous tendency can be somewhat seen in Rose. I mean, sure, she did not kill Bismuth, but she did hide her somewhere no one was supposed to find her... And I actually kinda think she had no intention of ever bringing her back out, she even told the others she lost sight of her in some battle. So there's that.

Now to Baby's companions, who actually seem to be quite fitting to be Crystal gems.

The first thing we need to do when playing Sister location is check on Ballora's stage. Now Ballora, I believe would be a perfect place for Pearl to be. And not only cuz they're both dancers. That too, obviously, but not only.

Also I kinda feel like placing Pearl's holograms as the Minirinas. Wouldn't that be fitting, especially considering how the Minirinas hold the broken parts of Ballora and how one of Pearl's holograms is the very thing that breaks her light form?

Then we go over to Funtime Foxy. That one, I believe, is quite fit to be Amethyst. Ironically, it's the shortest main animatronic in the game! Also because of his defiant nature. Ballora only needs one shock to return on the stage, but Foxy needs two... And the flashes when going through the Funtime Auditorium, too.

Flash more or less than nesessary and get yourself a game over. Be mean to Amethyst or ignore her, and that wouldn't be very pretty.

BidyBabs, I believe, would be something like Pebbles. Cuz they're like super small compared to others and don't seem to have a role other than scaring the shit outta the Player. That being said, I believe Pink might be the only one to even have Pebbles of her own. She accidentally made them, and she might've thought others won't be happy about it. That's why they hide, should anyone else but her try to see them.

Thinking of Funtime Freddy I actually think it could be Pink as Pink, not Rose... Mostly because it's still Freddy, and if it's Pink, then she's still trying to be right by Homeworld standards, so when she tries to attack the Player, it would be like attacking an intruder. An off-colour, if you wish. Also it's kinda symbolic when next night were going to deactivate Freddy.

But also Freddy would make a pretty good Garnet. Except not really Garnet, more like Ruby, and Bon-Bon could be Sapphire. Then it would be pretty symbolic that Bon-Bon's voice is used to calm Freddy down. The deactivation, on the other hand, won't be as symbolic. It would be just them following their leader, Baby, for the greater cause.

Actually, Garnet is better because when Baby composes Ennard out of all the animatronics, that can count as Obsidian. Kinda sorta. I mean, they're all there together.

Oooof, that's a lot... Kudos to whoever made it to this part without skipping several parts of my rant, it's 2:12 a.m. at my place and my thoughts get all over the place.

And I simply have to ask, what do y'all think of that? Too crazy or okay?
