MODEROID Valimar, the Ashen Knight

My first plamo in a while, from one of my favourite series, The Legend of Heroes (Trails/Kiseki series). The fact the model exists is a dream come true, as I wished for a model of Valimar ever since I first saw him in the game.

Unfortunately he is a major pain to paint for accuracy. There is almost no colour/parts separation. Out of the box he is just grey and graphite grey/black. This involved a lot of time, masking, and even more patience.

I really hope that Goodsmile improves for their future Divine Knight releases.

Can you give me a quick rundown on the Trails series? I got 3 In the Sky, 4 Cold Steel, Zero, and Azure; am I missing anything? Also is there a preferred order to play them, like chronological or release order or something?

Lotta people will say release order and that probably is the best overall, but cs1 and zero are both made intentionally as a jumping in point just in case. I love sky dearly but that game is the epitome of "good after the first 15 hours" it takes a WHILE to get good. you're only missing reveries (5th/epilogue to cols steel and out next week) and kuro (not translated officially but /v made an English patch for it

anyway trails is a series mostly famous on the strength of its characters, storytelling and world building, though they're all phenomenal turn based rpgs in their own right with lots of options to kit out any character you want how you want them to play.

Sky has you play estelle bright, who you're at least vaguely aware of if you're asking me about it. she's violent and dumb but with a good heart and a strong sense of justice, and her series has you follow her journey to become a bracer (and a lot of bullshit happens)

zero and azure (arguably my favorite) has you play as police detective lloyd bannings who's out to find the secret of his brother's killer. he finds himself assigned to the special support section (heh) with 3 strangers and the game follows their adventures through the tumultuous city of crossbell, an independent city on the border of two national superpowers, erebonia and calvard, who hate each other.

cold steel has you play as rean schwarzer, a student at erebonia's Thors military academy who's been mysteriously placed in class 7 with a handful of other students, rather than the commoner and royal classes the school usually has, and you follow him as he learns more about his classmates and goes on field studies to various locales across a country on the brink of civil war

these are extreme understatements but this game series is ludicrously easy to spoil so I won't be going into depth here (and I'm not even touching kuro until we get a trailer) but please please please give the trails series a try if you've been hungry for a story with some hearty meat on its bones or a setting with some of the most insane continuity out there
