Elain Archeron Week Day 1: Seer

Elain stills, dirt streaked hand firmly gripping her shovel. She gives a light gasp, more prepared this time than others, but still always caught off guard when she’s quickly sucked into a vision.

Golden light. Flashes of red. A cool breeze. Laughter. A laugh in response.

Her eyes focus once again on the flower filled garden in front of her. She startles, realizing a bubble of laughter has been escaping her own curved lips. A hot flush spreads up her cheeks and into the pointed tips of ears she’s been getting used to as she carefully looks around.

Elain sighs, seeing nor hearing any signs of people nearby with these strangely powerful Fae ears. All she needs is someone hearing her giggling to herself. They already thought you were crazy once Elain. Don’t let them think it again. She shakes her head against these thoughts, vanishing them faster than the onset of the vision.

Could the last laugh have been from her? Part of the vision? Both? Was she really crazy?

Elain gasps again, dropping the shovel with a clang onto a rock, swearing momentarily that the shovel she clenched so tightly felt like a warm, gentle hand.

She holds up her trembling, pale hand to her face, not having been aware of just how tightly she had been holding the gardening tool. Elain winces, now also aware of how much her hand hurts. And how much worse it could have been if she hadn’t let go. Lately, she’s been having visions that appear to extend beyond the safety of her own head. Sights, sounds, smells. Touch.

Was she really crazy?

Elain brings her hand back down, seeing her normal healthy color begin to return and the feeling of pain lessens. She takes a deep breath in and slowly releases.

She whispers to herself as she grabs her notebook out of her gardening bag, “I am in control. These are my visions.”

She flips past vision after vision. Some longer and some shorter. Some more detailed and others messily smudged with ink at her frustration of how vague and blurry they can be. This one at least had… a feeling. Joy. Light. Life. She quickly writes down what she remembers after she comes across a new, blank page.

Elain can’t stop the visions, but she can piece them together. Understand them. They’re a part of her now.

They’re her visions.

This is the exploration of how her unexpected swim ripped off the veil that blocked the power that she already had.

I headcanon that Elain will ask Feyre if she would like to draw and paint a few visions she has had.

Elain gifts one painting to Feyre and Nesta, a future moment of them all laughing while looking out to the sea at the children swimming and playing together.

Happy Elain Archeron Week Day 6: Fanged Beast

One of my absolute favorite theories in this fandom is that Elain will be able to traverse the murky realm, like the Mystics in HOSAB. @wingedblooms incredible mind connects details in a way most only dream of and has helped to further my excitement for Elain’s book and journey. You can find the two main theories that inspired this piece here and here.

The first time we see Elain peer across the world, she is doing so as a trembling fawn, but my hope is that, she will peer across worlds on her way to becoming a fanged beast and embrace that side of her in her own book.

In this piece, Elain has left behind Az and Bryce in Velaris, and stepped into the murky realm, only to be greeted by a waiting Apollion, mirroring Az. Apollion’s black eyes, deep and dark as the Pit in which he dwells- a telltale sign that his relaxed posture is nothing more than a trick to give a false sense of calm. But I have confidence Elain’s fangs and claws will get her back home.
