i can’t tell if it’s because i’m just super emotional right now or not but i just started watching a starstruck odyssey and hearing brennan say “thanks for the galaxy, mom,” nearly made me cry. that is the cutest goddamn thing i’ve ever heard
Just read the original Starstruck play (wild, hammy, terrifying in terms of production scale (seriously, think of the Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway)) and then saw the clip of Becca Scott evading a professional tag player on Game Changer and now I need a Starstruck Odyssey spin-off with Becca, Erika, and Izzy as part of a chaotic crew. Intergalactic Girl Guides, maybe?
If you’re talking about worldbuilding, if I had one piece of advice to give to people, it would be, don’t just read fantasy or read science fiction or read comics. If you wanna write science fiction, read science, or at least go to Science Daily online and could see what new is happening. Or if you’re doing fantasy, read folklore, read people writing what they think about folklore and mythology and all of that too, because that’s where you get new ideas. You can take that, and so you’re not just rehashing, well, "Lord of the Rings".
Elaine Lee | Starstruck Origins with Elaine Lee (Part 2)
started rewatching starstruck odyssey and once again overcome by the emotions that “mom, thanks for the galaxy. we will handle it with love and care” brings out in me. that is the cutest thing ever. brennan you can’t just say stuff like that and expect me to be able to quickly move on from it
