The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals and Cats are structurally the same musical in that they both open with an establishing number, followed by a long barrage of "I am" songs, culminating in one massive "I want" song for our main hero. This is immediately followed by the death of our main hero and a closing number without any real resolution. This is my hot take.

The cassette version of the CD single of 'Memory' from the 1998 film, by Elaine Paige. The cassette also contains another song from the singer from Sunset Boulevard, but is missing the other from The Rose that the CD has.
The cassette is housed in a standard jewel case with a single folded insert with the credits on the inner side, and a promotional photo of Elaine as Grizabella as the cover.
As with the CD, the wording used to describe the song and its film origin seem to point to the idea that a full soundtrack release for CATS (1998) would be released. That obviously has not happened, and with the 25th anniversary come and gone, they will never seemingly have a change of heart. So far, Memory, Gus, the Theatre Cat, and part of the Jellicle Ball are the only songs from the soundtrack to have been officially released to the public from the 1998 film.

First day of Cats 1998 Anniversary Celebration! I'm so happy! Today prompt: favourite actor.
And after first excitment I'm sad now. I don't have a fav! I don't know them personally, so I can't say "That one I like, that one don't". I love all of those wonderfull people, because they changed my life. Because of their hard, unusual work they together created somethin amazing, something... well, lifechanging. So, I want to say "Thank you! You are the best! I love you!" to all of them!

As Bernard Cribbins passed away this week, I went digging for videos of him in the 1989 London production of Anything Goes, and to my absolute joy, found Elaine Paige and him doing “Friendship”
The vid on youtube (x) is out of sync, so I fixed that, hence this re-upload.
I’ve always preferred the London Cast recording over the Broadway production’s, and Bernard Cribbins was a big reason for this. He will be missed.

A CD single released in 1998 by Elaine Paige, focusing on her version of Memory found in the film released the same year. The CD also contains two other songs from the singer, one from Sunset Boulevard and the other from The Rose.
The CD is housed in a thinline jewel case with a single page insert with the credits on the inner side, and a promotional photo of Elaine as Grizabella as the cover.
The wording used to describe the song and its film origin seem to point to the idea that a full soundtrack release for CATS (1998) would be released. That obviously has not happened, but with the 25th anniversary upcoming, maybe they will have a change of heart. Most people think grizabella would look like the baby grizz (costume her actress wares in the beginning of the musical) or be a gray tabby when she was younger but I always thought she would be a black cat. Special Elaine Paige's grizabella has a black dress on under her coat, her coat is very mated and stand with sand so I thought she had so much dirt you can't really see what color she was, and I think her tail was black to.well regardless of if she is or not it's my headcanon.

This is what I think she would look like when she was in her prim .
