One Dress a Day - bonus challenges
Black and White October The Mask of Zorro - Elena Montero (Catherine Zeta Jones)
It’s so hard to find good pictures of this dress! It’s so light and pretty, and I love the petals on her sleeves. The black detailing adds a nice bit of definition to the plain white. Her skirt is a pretty ombre of black to dark red, but it’s really hard to see in the few shots you can see the whole thing in!

@ivory-paragon found the beehive . chapter 3
It almost felt like a normal night to Melissa, getting ready to descend the stairs to the ground floor of the Honey Bee Inn and greet her patrons with a warm smile and a kind word while looking nothing short of the queen she had styled herself as. The woman at least looked like she would on such an evening - she was decked in a beautiful emerald gown with designer shoes and with the right amount of jewelry around her neck and digits.
But the small, imperceptible earpiece she had on the right side was the key difference from a regular business day at her brothel and that particular occasion. She happened to be in Kalm, fully fitted for the opera at the city’s main theater, as well as finished with her briefing by the Turks in relation to how she should act if she found herself in trouble, as well as going over certain specific safe words to be used if she happened to be in danger.
For all intents and purposes - Melissa should have not been there; she was not trained for that type of thing, and she was really just a normal woman who had barely seen anything outside of Wall Market for the largest part of her life. But she had refused to listen to reason - this was not something she could sit out and trust others to handle. She had to be there, to see it all with her own eyes - justice for her own girls and colleagues; the assurance that another dreadful thing would not come to pass under the rule of a new Shinra.
And despite the fact that she trusted Rufus (and she really did; despite their rocky start, the young president had given her enough evidence to show his commitment to a different direction than the one chosen by the late Winston), this was bigger than anything - than Corneo, even. This was personal - she needed to be there; it was a visceral, desperate thing.
And so Rufus had relented; more because the Turks were around and they were hardly going at this alone despite being away from Shinra’s home turf. Melissa happened to be in an unique position to know enough to try and blackmail the president to be brought along - very few people were privy to the gruesome details of the experiments they had been uncovering and the links to Neo Midgar. But she hadn’t attempted to do that (and whether it had been because she was aware of how short-lived that experiment would be when she relied on Turk back-up for her business or not, Rufus would never know).
The fact remained that Melissa had pleaded to be allowed to come with him - and the dedication in her eyes and the emotion in her voice couldn’t be faked; this was important for her, far too much to let it be done by third parties, as competent and trustworthy they were.
With one last appraising look at herself in the ample mirror of her suite, Melissa nodded and walked away, making her way to meet Rufus. The plan so far was considerably simple - just some recon to try and identify the man they had an idea of how he was supposed to look like going by a sketch done internally at Shinra and based on the testimonies they had collected from the executives. He was supposedly a reclusive individual - he only ever came to Midgar for these occasions with Winston; for the rest of the time, he remained at his home base in Kalm, and apart from a passion for opera, left his home very rarely.
To be able to find him among other theater-goers and track him to some sort of address they could further investigate would be a big success - and they had gone through the extensive preparation to ensure Melissa knew not only how to react if she found him, but to not give anything away about herself. She should not have a recognizable face outside Midgar - and yet she had been given an entire undercover identity as Isabel Avelar, a Costan woman who happened to have inherited a lot of money from her family (owners of resorts and other touristic facilities) and who now spent her time supporting and financing artistic enterprises all over the globe. At least according to Reno, she looked perfectly Costan (despite not having a drop of blood from the area).
Finding Rufus had been easy - under a false name or not, he still had the same distinctive looks of his lineage. “Good evening - I imagine I should be refraining from using titles tonight?” she asked with a small smile and a knowing look, keeping her voice low and for his ears only (as well as the Turks following their every move and aware of each word). “Reno did not elaborate on who you are supposed to be, though, but I imagine we are on familiar terms with each other?”

Look at these two and tell me they're not father and daughter!
I mean, they have the same eyes; they're tuxedo cats; they have similar facial features; and most importantly, they have white paw/paws!
Okay, for those who don't know, El Guante Blanco is an elder tuxedo cat, adventurer, and swordsman who is Puss in Boots’ former mentor. His right paw is the color white, earning him the name "El Guante Blanco," which is Spanish for "the white glove." He has clothing similar to Puss's (hat and belt with sword) but doesn't wear boots. He has a similar appearance to Kitty Softpaws. His black fur appears to be mildly sun-bleached, as it can appear tawny. As he aged, he also had many random white hairs scattered across his body. He is from the Netflix series "The Adventures of Puss in Boots."
I headcanon him as Kitty's long-lost father and mentor because Guante and Puss are like Don Diego de la Vega and Alejandro Murrieta from The Mask of Zorro. And Kitty is like Elena Montero, Don Diego de la Vega's long-lost daughter.
In the movies, Kitty was on par with Puss, if not superior to him, (in my opinion). How else would Kitty know how to move and fight like Puss unless she was taught by the very same person?
Being an adventurer and hero is dangerous business, and Guante probably had his fair share of bounties on his head. He probably felt that his life was too dangerous to keep his little "Kitty Softpaws" by his side and had to make the hard decision to give her to a human family that he thought would take good care of her.
So that's my basic headcanon and theory anyway; on another note, I am in the middle of writing a fanfiction about Guante and Kitty's backstory based on my headcanon, so be on the lookout for that, you guys.
Also, tell me in the comments below what you think about El Guante Blanco being Kitty Softpaws' long-lost father.
🚫 This is my headcanon, so please be respectful. 🚫
🚫 If you don't like anything in my headcanon, please don't comment. 🚫

Pillar woman’s Novella: Past Tension 🌋💎
Montero and Camila were sent to the past cause Elena (who they were babysitting) touched an ancient artifact Normani had collected recently. Now here they are before their fathers and Uncle Wammu. Camila is doing her best not to swing at Montero for causing all of this and to stop him from fighting his dad. (to explain Montero didn’t now how to use his powers properly so when he touched the artifact it glowed and everything went south).
But how will they get back to the future and how will Montero feel having met his dad? Will Kars have a change if heart meeting his son?Would them being in the past alter the future? Will Camila be able to bond with the man she doesn’t remember? How will Esidsi react to meeting his daughter all grown up?
(Fanfic in progress rn y’all will upload soon)

90's Pulp Movie Villains Ranked
SO I am going to be doing a series of rankings ,as I have been marathoing the Pulp superhero trend of the 90's .Why not start with my favorite topic ,the villlains...THis was hard in a sense, because I love all five of these baddies
5.Big Boy Caprice from Dick Tracy
The biggest mob boss in town and arch nemesis to Dick Tracy.I actually though going into this rewatch ,I thought he would be number one ....But looking at the other villains he fell to the wayside.I love how bonkers Al PAcinos performance is and his quirk of messing up qoutes and the makeup looks great but honestly I cant help but feel he is a wannabe of Jack Nicholsons Joker .He is fun though
Tumblr media
4.Xander Drax from the Phantom
An evil powerhungry business man who wants to harnass the power of 3 magic skulls .On paper he is the weakest villain, going into this rewatch,I thought I was gonna put him dead last .The problem is the side villains are more intereresting ,like the pirate king Kabai Sengh and Quill who killed the Phantoms father, while Drax is just an evil rich guy ......Thank GOD for Treat Williams performance ,he is taking character description of evil 1930's capitalist and running with it .Not great but he is a ton of fun
Tumblr media
3.Neville Sinclair from the Rockateer
A swashbuckling movie star who is actually a Nazi spy trying to get his hands on an experimental jetpack .NOw we get to the really interesting guys .While Big Boy and Drax were fun, theres a bit more to Sinclair .Being a dashing movie star he is charming but his villainy is motivated by a sense of desperation .Timothy Dalton is an actor who feels like he is right of the 1930's and 1940's ,so he is able to nail the deonair side while also being a legit menacing villain
Tumblr media
2.Don Rafael Montero from The Mask of Zorro
A Spanish Governor who wishes to take over California ,but the big thing is he stole the daughter of Don Diego De La Vega AKA the original Zorro and had him imprisioned for 20 years .NOw what impresses me about Don Rafael is he couldve been a mustache twirly villain, just a hate sink as we root for Zorro to run him through....But they decided to give him nuanace .Oh he is still a villain who kills and enslaves innocent people ,but he has his own morals ,doesnt want children to see his crimes, and does very much care for his adopted daughter Elena .Stuart Wilson plays him with a sense of dignity and nuance one doesnt often see in a blockbuster bad guy of that era
Tumblr media
1. Shiwan Khan from the Shadow
The last descendant of Genghis Khan(I know there are millions of descendants of that guy just roll with it ,its a movie ),Shiwan Khan is a wannabe conqueror who wishes to rule the world using his psychic powers and an atomic bomb.SO while DOn Rafael is a more nuanced villain,Shiwan Khan is a classic supervillain done REALLY well .Like the guys got a simple goal,he wants to rule the world, cause being descended from a great conquerer he wants to be a conqueror himself.A few things make him stand out ,one is John Lones charismatic performance, especially in his scenes with the Shadow .In classic villain fashion he is a dark reflection of the Shadow.....But of the Shadows past .The Shadow used to be a bad dude but has put his sins behind him to fight evil .Basically Shiwan Khan has all the powers of the Shadow and is what the Shadow would be like is he still pursued evil. What I love is Shiwan Khan actually admires the Shadows past and is diappointed he has turned good cause he really wants him to rule with him .He also reminds me of Kilgrave from Jessica Jones in how he uses his mind control powers to convince people to kill themselves who mildly inconvience him .With cool powers ,a good performance and a great dynamic with the hero ,I think Shiwan Khanis one of the most underrated supervillains in superhero movies and best villain of the 90's pulp movies trend
