so basically a lot of our elf language headcanon was developed for noli me tangere because the elves um. they r still alive. so we were like "what if they had language!!!!" and now they have language.

there's three specific scripts in tangereverse, standard (what alex had a whole diagram for), old elfish, and kiddiescript (affectionate name, referred to formally as quickish).

so standard elfish is a very fluid language, where the symbols could and have changed meanings to fit the changing times. they're immortal they can't deal with that permanence shit.

old elfish was/is the language used before the massacre when they really only lived in one time. it's old and static and they don't use it as often but it's the basis for standard elfish so its important to ME

kiddiescript, finally, is the script kids use when theyre still leaning to read and write. it's got several meanings per character. lots of slurs and messes. it's usually written in crayon. it evolved in tangereverse but still existed in spicy clover (fun fact, patri still writes in quickish because he has dyslexia and quickish is very straightforward and something he can read! rhya, fana, and vetto have to struggle through his writings, but they can read it. they share notes in old elfish in spicyverse)
