“Get Your F*cking Hands Off Her, A*shole!”
Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz x Reader
Countdown to Cobra Kai Season 5 - 8 Days left!!!
Masterlist
Tumblr media
(Gif not mine)
Requested? No
Summary: It was an unspoken rule around West Valley High that (Y/n) (Y/l/n) was completely and utterly off limits. No one dared test the boundaries when it came to that rule, for fear that her Mohawk-clad boyfriend would go all Cobra Kai on them. Of course, every now and again, a newbie didn’t get the memo…
Warnings: starred out swear words, overprotective Hawk, creepy dude making (Y/n) uncomfy, prejudice against “North Hills” with a substantial lack of reasoning to back it up 😬😂, lack of adherence to plot line of the source material
Pairing: Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz x Fem!Reader
IM SO SORRY THIS IS LATE 😬😬 I’m trying to get back on schedule as soon as possible, I promise! 👌👌👌
Tumblr media
Eli Moskowitz and (Y/n) (Y/l/n) were in love. Everyone knew it, and, because of Eli’s status in their school’s hierarchy as “Hawk” the “Cobra King,” no one dared refute it. It was a system that worked. An unspoken line, if you will, that, when crossed, was swiftly dealt with. And the perpetrator never did it again. Hawk made sure of that.
But there were still some who, to them, the pretty girl in math class was simply the pretty girl in math class. Nothing more. No ties to a Mohawked gang leader, and certainly no harm in asking her out on a date this weekend. Perhaps to the movies? There was a pretty cool drive in just across town…
“That’s a bad idea.” Toby turned to look at the girl who’d spoken, an embarrassed expression on his face at having been caught staring, before he crossed his arms over his chest and scowled, in an attempt to cover it up.
“What?” He asked, glaring at her, annoyed by her unhelpful interjection in something that clearly didn’t involve her. He didn’t know who she was, being the new kid usually meant that was the case, but, Toby could already tell, whoever this girl was, she wasn’t someone he wanted to be spending his time with. She gave him the heebie jeebies, and not in the good way. Her face suddenly transformed into a smirk, before she gestured towards where his eyes had been trained just moments before.
“You’re staring at (Y/n) right?” She asked her own gaze taking in the sight of the girl at her locker just down the hall. Toby cringed a little, having hoped he’d been a tad more discreet, but this creepy girl had seen right through him.
“So?” He asked, defensively, wondering what exactly she wanted from him, landing on simply “picking on the new guy,” before she opened her mouth and spoke again.
“Yeah. That’s not gonna happen. Trust me, dude.” She replied, vaguely, but Toby just rolled his eyes, not believing her for a second.
“Who even are you?” He asked rudely, but the girl just laughed, an unsettling sound that left Toby’s skin crawling.
“Tory with a y.” She answered, as if he should know. (He didn’t.) “Listen, newbie.” She pouted sarcastically, before patting his shoulder. “I get it. You don’t know how things work around here.” Her patting ceased as she grabbed his shoulders, rather harshly turning him back towards the math class girl; towards (Y/n). “But I’m telling you right now, She’s not someone you wanna mess with.” Toby scoffed, his patience for this conversation wearing thin, as he pulled out of Tory’s grip.
“She seems harmless.” He said, before turning away from (Y/n) and towards his unwanted companion. “You, however, weird me out, so I’m gonna go talk to (Y/n). Bye, now.” He began to walk off, heading towards the girl’s locker and mentally psyching himself up as he did, before a loud voice called out after him.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you!” Tory yelled, but Toby just rolled his eyes again, before mumbling under his breath.
“You can’t tell me what to do, psycho…”
+ + +
“And then I told him that if he tried to do that again I was gonna take his face and-“
“Hey, Hawk!” The boy turned around when Tory’s voice sounded over the conversation, an annoyed look on his face at being interrupted.
“What is it?” He spat angrily, causing Tory to raise her hands in mock defense.
“Just thought you’d wanna know I just saw the new guy practically eye-banging your girl in the hallway.” She said casually, but Hawk’s heart stopped all the same.
“What?” He asked, through gritted teeth, hoping he’d heard her wrong. But Tory just nodded her head.
“Some dude. Troy or Tanner or something. New kid. Just moved here from North Hills or some sh*t.” She was still talking but, past the point of confirmation, Hawk was done listening.
“Where is he now?” He asked, his fists clenched, itching to do to this new kid what he’d been about to describe before Tory’s interruption. Nobody messed with his (Y/n)…
“Last I saw he was headed towards (Y/n)’s locker. Something about asking her out?”And that was when Hawk snapped.
“The he*l he is!” (Y/n) was HIS girlfriend. Everyone knew that. Who did he think he was? This punk coming in and trying to cheat the system, and steal away HAWK’S girl? This Troy, or Tanner, or whatever-the-f*ck his name was, was gonna pay. And Hawk was gonna make sure of it.
“I’m gonna go deal with this sh*thead. Beat his a*s…”
+ + +
“You’re (Y/n), right?” (Y/n) (Y/l/n) spun around quickly at the voice, confused as she didn’t recognize it, before coming face to face with the new kid she vaguely remembered from one of her earlier classes. She smiled politely, before responding.
“Yeah, that’s me.” She agreed, before a frown reached her face. “I’m sorry I don’t-“ She began apologizing for not recalling his name, but the boy cut her off with a shrug, leaning against the locker beside hers and effectively boxing her in, though (Y/n) assumed it was unintentional.
“Toby. I just moved here.” (Y/n) nodded along at his words, as she took a small step back, only for her foot to collide with the metal of a locker door.
“Toby… hi.”
“Hi…” (Y/n) wondered what exactly it was that he wanted, or whether it was just to introduce himself. But if that was the case, why hadn’t he left yet?
“Did you need something?” She asked, hoping she didn’t come off as rude or anything, though if she did, he didn’t point it out, or do anything really other than shake his head while laughing at himself.
“Sh*t, yeah. Um, I was actually wondering…” He trailed off, his eyes meeting hers in an intense gaze that she was both unwilling and unable to reciprocate. “Well, you’re really pretty, ya know…” (Y/n) didn’t like where this was going. She made to carefully remove his arm from the locker, so that she could walk away, but Toby apparently wasn’t finished, and reached for her wrist, holding it tightly in his grip to keep her in place. “Hold on just a second!” (Y/n)’s eyes widened in shock. “I dunno… I was sorta thinkin-“
“Get your f*cking hands off her, a*shole!”
+ + +
If Hawk wasn’t already seeing red at just the idea of someone he didn’t know flirting with (Y/n), the sight of her being held up against a locker with that frightened look on her face would surely have done it. And it did, for the next move Hawk made was not something that he would have ever done in front of his girlfriend had the situation not demanded it…
“Get your f*cking hands off her, a*shole!” It was like time had slowed down, and there was no one in the room but them; Hawk, and the sleezeball touching his girl.
The new guy spun around, his expression clearly annoyed, until he noticed the murderous one pointed back at him. His face dropped in worry.
“Look, dude. I dunno what you think-“ He began (trying to explain himself, perhaps?), but Hawk’s attention remained on his hand… that had yet to move.
“Oh I know exactly what I think!” He practically growled, stepping forward threateningly. “I think you’ve got your sh*tty North Hills hands all over my girlfriend, and if you don’t let go right now I’m gonna send you back to North Hills; only this time it’ll be in a body bag!” On a normal day, Hawk would’ve smirked at the “I just wet myself” look that had suddenly appeared on the dopes face, but this wasn’t a normal day. On a normal day, if some douche bag decided to mess with Hawk they’d do it directly, not through (Y/n). There was a level of respect there, at least for the girl. Because, everyone knew, messing with him was on thing, but (Y/n)? Practically a death sentence.
“I-I didn’t know-“ The new guy stuttered out, his grip finally releasing from (Y/n)’s skin, the girl slipping away from him and behind her boyfriend the moment she was able. Hawk felt her small hands tighten against the back of his hoodie and his angry frown deepened.
“Oh “you-you didn’t know”?” He mocked, carefully removing his girlfriends fingers from his clothes and advancing towards the other boy, nothing stopping him now from cracking this dweebs skull. He’d teach him not to mess with his girl again…
+ + +
Smack!
Smack!
“Ow!”
Crunch!
Pop!
Pop!
“Ughhhhhhhh…”
Crack!
“Stop, please!”
Hawk dropped the bruised and bloody body of the new kid harshly on the floor, before standing over him, his breathing heavy. (Y/n)’s eyes were wide. She’d never seen this side of him before. Sure, she knew he got into fights. She had to clean him up after them all the time. But he usually made it a point to keep her out of them. Though, (Y/n) supposed there wasn’t much way to keep her out of this one, since it happened over her. She frowned, suddenly feeling immensely guilty.
“If I see you anywhere near her again, we’ll be back here. Got it?” He snarled, his back now to (Y/n), which she appreciated, as she wasn’t sure she wanted to see his face look like that. She liked the soft way her Eli looked at her. She didn’t think she’d be too fond of visions of angry Hawk intruding her lovesick thoughts. “I said: Do. You. Understand!?!” (Y/n) watched the guy nod his head so fast she thought it might fall off, before scrambling to his feet. Hawk turned to make his way towards his friends and his girl, calling back over his shoulder as he did. “Now, get outta here before I change my mind.”
+ + +
“You okay, Princess?” Hawk had cooled down a little at the look on her face, hating that he’d contributed to it, but also knowing he’d had to do what he did. (Y/n) nodded slightly, though she wouldn’t meet his eyes. Hawk frowned, worried she was upset with him about the fight, though he couldn’t fathom why. That douchebag was hurting her. He’d just put a stop to it like any good boyfriend would. Speaking of…
“Can I see?” He gestured towards her wrist, receiving a small noise of agreement. He reached for her hand, his anger gradually returning as he took in the obvious fingerprints against her smooth skin. He tried to calm himself down, talking a deep breath before leaning down to press a soft kiss to her wrist.
“You’re gonna have a bruise.” He mumbled against her skin. But (Y/n) just shrugged.
“I don’t care.” Hawk sighed, running his hand down the side of his face anxiously.
“(Y/n)… you know I had to, right?” He asked, watching her face carefully as it changed, relief washing over him as she slowly nodded her head.
“I know… I just wanna go home. Can we?” She looked up at him with a small pout that Hawk was quick to agree to.
“Course, (Y/n/n). We can do anything you want.” He promised with a soft smile that dated back to his Eli days and was reserved exclusively for her. (Y/n) grinned a little, though Hawk wasn’t sure what was so funny. He wasn’t gonna comment on it though, just happy he’d got her smiling again.
“Ice cream?” She asked hopefully, earning a chuckle from her boyfriend, as his arm wrapped around her shoulder and he steered her towards the door.
“Sure, Princess. Whatever you want.”

Out of your system // Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz x Reader
Summary: You are in a completely different dojo and face Cobra Kai, including Hawk and Tory, at a tourney. The tension between you and Hawk is too strong from the beginning, and well, you just need to get it out of your system. But there is something else...
Pairing: Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz x Reader
Warnings: Language, fighting, wild make-out session
A/N: This is my first Cobra Kai Story :) Hope you enjoy! (The way Hawk would look at you!)
Tumblr media
Exuberant and confident, the Cobra Kai students stand in front of the arena. As always, they know, or think they know, that they will bring home the trophy again this year.
"Hey guys, have you heard about that other dojo?" blurts Mitch and the others look at him.
"What dojo? What the hell are you talking about?" asks Hawk, raising an eyebrow. His look is the same as always. Arrogant and cocky.
"I heard about a dojo competing today, and supposedly they have a real machine," Mitch continues.
At this moment, a car pulls up. It is a matte black Audi RS3 Sportback, and a silver panther is on the side. The students of Cobra Kai look up in anticipation.
"You got to be shitting me...," Hawk breathes as he sees the sticker of a dojo on the back window.
Silver Panther Dojo
Hawk's mouth drops open as he spots you getting off. For a moment, he stares at you, but then you turn around and brush a strand of hair behind your ear. He's rarely seen a prettier girl than you.
Then you look at Hawk, who briefly averts his eyes, but then he looks at you again. You meet his gaze and then raise an eyebrow before snorting in amusement and disappearing inside the arena.
"What the hell was that?" asks Tory after a while, looking at Hawk.
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"You - dumbass," she says, then looks at the entrance. "And her. You just undressed her with your eyes."
"No, I didn't," Hawk waves off.
"Oh, yes, you did," Tory teases him further, but Hawk has had enough. He stands very close in front of Tory and looks at her menacingly.
"I fucking did not!"
Just as Tory is about to say something else, Kreese steps behind her. "Come on! In you go!"
As they change clothes and wait to warm up, Hawk spots you again. You're standing a few feet from him, stretching. Hawk's eyes roam over your perfect body. You're so flexible, and those curves...
"Snap out of it, will you! I'm not gonna lose that trophy 'cause you give our competition the fuck-eyes."
Annoyed, Hawk turns to Tory. "Just shut the fuck up, Tory, okay. I'm not giving her the fuck-eyes. And I will prove it to you."
Hawk stands behind you and lets his gaze roam over your backside once more. He waves Mitch, Edwin, and a few others over, then walks toward you. Tory follows them as well, eager to see what he does now.
At that moment, you stand up straight, grab your towel, and then turn around. You didn't expect to almost run into Hawk like that. You take another step backward, but Hawk steps in front of you again.
The tension between you is charged, and you can almost hear it crackle.
"Can I help you?" you ask, perkily raising an eyebrow.
Hawk's typical smug smile appears on his face. "You wanna help us, princess? If anything else, we are gonna help you."
You snort. "Oh yeah?" You now take a step closer to Hawk and whisper against his lips. "Guess what, Mohawk. I don't need your help."
You're about to push past him when Hawk grabs you by the arm. "You're pretty cheeky. You know that?" he asks, and your lips are only inches apart. "Just know we won't go easy on you just because you're a girl. We will take you down."
You yank your arm away from Hawk. "Oh, I'd like to see you try."
As you stomp away, Hawk watches you go. As you disappear around the corner, he turns to Tory to show her he is right, but Tory just laughs.
"Wow, you serious? The fucking tension between you two makes me sick."
Annoyed, Hawk turns away from Tory. He's not attracted to you after all. The only one who had his attention until now was Moon, but now... His gaze briefly wanders to the bench in the back, where he can see you talking to your sensei. At that moment, you look up and give Hawk a dirty look.
Then it finally starts. The first few fights begin, and Hawk watches anxiously. He wants to know what's coming up, after all.
"Next up, Mitchell Sanders against Y/N Y/L/N," the speaker calls out, and Mitch stands next to Hawk.
"A girl. Should be an easy one," he says, and Hawk punches in at him. But then the two see who is getting ready. It's you. Hawk laughs and then comes over to you.
"Now let's see what you are made of, princess," he says, and you look up at him.
"With pleasure!" she pushes Hawk aside and then joins Mitch on the mat.
"Okay, bow to each other," the referee calls, and you bow to your opponent, who does the same. You quickly realize he's from the same dojo as the pompous guy with the mohawk. "Good, now bow to me," the ref continues.
Then the fight begins. Hawk smugly stands next to the mat and watches you, but the smirk quickly disappears from his face as he watches you fight. You are just incredible. Slowly he lowers his arms, and his mouth opens. It doesn't take long, and Mitch is on his back.
"One Point!" says the ref, pointing at you.
"Wow, your girlfriend is really good," Tory says, standing next to Hawk.
"She's not my fucking girlfriend." Furious, Hawk stomps away.
The following fights are not unexpected. Hawk defeats his opponents, Tory defeats hers, and you defeat yours. The board indicates that the next fight is between Tory and you.
"Next up: Tory Nichols from Cobra Kai and Y/N Y/L/N from Silver Panther."
You and Tory face each other. You bow and then take your fighting positions.
"You know what a silver panther is, right?" Tory asks you, and you squeeze your eyes together. You've watched her before and know she's trying to intimidate her opponents. However, you don't respond. "Silver Panthers are the old ones. Slow and without reaction."
"Why don't you just shut up, huh? More fighting, less talking," you say, clenching your fists.
When the ref gives the okay, you both fire away and start punching each other. Your talents are incredibly even; one by one, you score until the score is 2-2.
As you get ready to face each other for the third and final time, you see the guy with the mohawk standing behind Tory, watching you. Tory follows your gaze and then grins at you.
"No worries. He will fuck you either way. Even if you lose."
You frown, and your attention returns to Tory. Then the ref gives the go-ahead, and you start punching her. Over and over, you kick at her, then hit her again with your fists so she can only defend herself and nothing else.
Again you face each other. Then you do a pike roll, put your legs around her middle, and roll again, so she slams on the mat. Quickly you sit on her and give her the last blow. In the corner of your eye, you see the ref's flag go up.
"One Point." He takes your hand and raises it. "Winner."
You send a smug smile toward Mohawk before kneeling to Tory. "You know... Now that I won, maybe I will fuck him," you say, winking at her.
"The big finale is done. We start in fifteen minutes. Hawk against Y/N Y/L/N. Let's see who will be the new All Valley Champion."
"That bitch!" grumbles Tory as she sits on the floor next to Hawk.
"Oh, now you don't like her that much. What?" Hawk teases her.
"Shut up, Hawk! You still have to face her. Oh, and btws, I think she wants to fuck you, too."
Hawk's head shoots up, and he looks at Tory. "What the fuck are you talking about now?"
Tory stands up and walks toward Hawk. "You eye-fucked her since she got here, and the tension between you is far from enduring. That's why I told her that you would fuck her even if she loses. When that bitch won, she said she's probably gonna fuck you anyway now."
Hawk and Tory look over at you, and you feel their eyes on you, which is why you look up. Your gaze meets Hawk's, and you both stare at each other for a moment.
When the fight finally starts, you face Hawk and bow. He does so as well, and his gaze remains on your eyes.
"Fighting positions!"
You take your position and raise your hands. When the ref gives the go, you go right at it. You kick at Hawk, but he blocks all your punches.
As you lunge again, he grabs your leg and pulls you closer to him so that your faces are once again inches apart.
"So, how about that fuck later?" he whispers to you, and you're totally thrown off your game, which is why he can throw you onto your back easily.
"One Point."
Hawk reaches out to help you up, but you swat it away and resume your fighting stance.
"That was dirty," you hiss at him, and he winks.
"Not as dirty, what I will do to you later."
"Go!"
The two of you start fighting each other again, and it continues with numerous dirty and lewd remarks until it's 2-2 again.
After that, neither of you manages to score another point. Both of you are always close, but then the other can block again. After 3 minutes of fighting, the ref interrupts.
"Okay, stop! We're going to take a 15-minute break," he calls, and you take a step back. You take a deep breath and then walk quickly to the dressing room.
Your ego is bruised that you let yourself be distracted by such cheap talk in the first place, and secondly, that this stupid fight still isn't over.
With your eyes closed, you stand next to the bench and rub your knuckles, which are cracked from all the attacks. Then you close your eyes and take a deep breath.
"So, what do you say?" you suddenly hear a whisper by your ear, which makes you wince. Of course, you immediately know who it is.
You feel his chest against your back and his hand suddenly resting on your hip. All your muscles tense, and you turn your head in his direction. The hairs on the back of your neck stand up, and again you feel the tension between you.
His hand moves from your hip over your stomach. He starts kissing your neck, and you take a deep breath.
"Is that a yes?" he asks softly, and the vibration of his voice sends goosebumps down your body again.
Then you turn and look into his blue eyes. With the smug smile still on his lips, he looks at you.
"You really think it's that easy?" you whisper after a while.
He puts his hands on your hips again and pulls you closer to him. "I could do more convincing if you want to," he says, kissing your neck again before moving his mouth further down.
He pushes your gi aside a little, giving him more access.
"I don't know if this a good idea," you say, panting, and put your arms around him.
Hawk gives you a gentle squeeze and then looks you in the eye. "I'm not gonna say it is, but..." he starts and then kisses you passionately. His tongue runs over your bottom lip, and you open your mouth to let him in.
Suddenly Hawk's hands were all over your body.
"Jesus, you are so fucking hot!" gasps Hawk against your lips, and you can't help but smirk.
He opens your gi and slides the jacket over your shoulders. His hands are quickly back on your body, exploring your skin. Then his hands move down to your ass, and he grabs it before lifting you so you can wrap your legs around his middle.
Hawk takes a few steps backward and then sits on the bench with you on his lap. Suddenly, you feel his fingers on your waistband and stop him.
"Wait... I won't - I won't go any further, understood," you say, biting your lips. You avert your eyes from Hawk and look down at yourself.
"Hey," he says more gently than you ever expected him to. "It's okay... We don't-" he says, but then a loud tone sounds, and you both look up. "Shit, the fight," he says and looks at you.
You smirk and then get off his lap before putting your gi jacket back on. You then make your way out of the locker room, but just before you reach the door, Hawk grabs you by your wrist and then pushes you against the wall.
"This isn't finished, sweetheart," he whispers before placing his lips on yours and kissing you.
When he lets go of you, you smile softly at him. "I guess that was something that we needed to get out of our system."
"Guess so."
Together, you walk back out to finish your fight.
"All right, let's finish this," the ref says before you bow to each other again, then take your fighting positions.
You wink almost imperceptibly at Hawk as the ref gives the go-ahead for the final round.
30 seconds later, you're lying on your back on the mat with Hawk bent over you. Your chest rises and falls quickly, and you look him in the eye.
"Looks like you didn't hold back this time, huh?" you ask, and Hawk winks again.
"Oh, just wait for the next time; I get you without this Gi," he whispers and then gets off you.
He helps you to your feet, and his friends are already running towards him to celebrate with him for the win. You smile at the sight but then turn away and go to your sensei and friends.
A little later, you are approached again as you stand outside by your car, just loading your bag.
"I meant it."
You turn around, and Hawk is standing in front of you. "What do you mean?"
"That I wanna see you again," Hawk says, and you step closer to him.
"Oh, so that's what that meant," you say with a smile, and he nods with a shoulder shrug.
You walk up to him, take his cell phone out of his hand, and put in your number. Then you open your car and get in. Before you close the door, however, you look again at Hawk.
"I really enjoyed your company too, Eli."
Then you get in and drive away. Hawk looks after you and, at that moment, realizes that you called him Eli. The question, however, was how you knew his real name.

warnings. injury (dislocated shoulder), swearing
ricky rocks. wrote this A LONG TIME ago, but didn’t finish. it’s basically a crack-fic because there’s no purpose to the story.
“okay, just take a deep breath, alright?”
his words didn’t stop the whining coming all the way from the back of your throat, deep breathy whines that drawed out into groans of deep, deep pain.
“y/n, breathe,” he whsipered, now looking directly into your eyes, realizing you were holding your breath, trying to make yourself pass out, trying to make it all go away.
he slowly pushed you to the ground on your stomach, making you yell, both his hands on your dislocated shoulder pressing hard but carefully.
“robby—robby, i cant do this, i cant do this,” you stuttered out his name, breathy and all caught up in your throat as your chest rumbled up in down. your eyes were wide with terror as they connected with his, just as freaked out, screaming out, but he kept it calm as he pulled it slowly, like he was preparing himself to pop it back into place.
“y/n, you have to-“
“robby no!”
“your shoulder is dislocated. i need to pop it back into place,” the reality of the situation seem to hit you the moment he said those words, his eyes piercing yours with sympathy but harshness. you winced, resisting the urge to cry as the pain surged through your body in large waves. “it’s going to hurt, but i’m trying to help you. it’ll hurt a lot less.”
you bit the inside of your cheek, slowly pulling your eyes from his, settling onto the ground. you became very hyper aware of everything that you were feeling and any slight movement that would shift through your bones.
robby was straddling, pinning you tightly to the ground as he mentally prepared for this himself. he had never put a shoulder back in its place, but he had seen it done before.
“y/n, you’ll be fine. guys at the skatepark have this happen all the time to them. once they get popped into place, they’re good as new,” his version of reassurance made your stomach slightly settle; he could tell by the way your body became more relaxed. “you ready?”
you nodded your head.
“i need you to say it aloud, are you ready?”
“yes, yes, robby, just please make the pain stop,” you spoke frantically, slightly squirming beneath his light movement. “just do it!”
he pops it into place right as you yell out your sentence, but it finishes out in a strangle cry.
“good girl,” he breathes out, relieved, placing his hand against your head in a encouraging way, “good, y/n. now let’s get you some actual medical help.”

Brother's Ex-Best Friend
Tumblr media
Summary: After watching Hawk break your brother's arm, you have trouble trusting him again.
A/n: I've discovered I enjoy writing hawk angst, so now you all must suffer
Warnings: violence, angst, injury and a rushed ending
--
I only got into karate because of my brother. I agreed that it might be good to learn to defend ourselves. I had no idea that it would increase the odds of us needing to tenfold.
Now I'm hiding in the corner of the laster tag place downtown, watching the boy who used to be my best friend, who I used to believe I was in love with, beat my brother to a pulp.
He pins Demetri to the ground, grabbing his arm and tugging it back.
"Finish him!" the other Cobra Kai's shout.
"Demetri!" I jump up from my hiding spot, rushing towards them.
Demetri is trying to reason with him. "Eli, Eli, it's me," he cries.
The other Cobra Kai's are shouting over him.
"Stop!" I cry, running towards them.
Eli looks up at me, but I realize that it's no longer him. The Eli I knew was kind and loyal. The person staring over at me is the complete opposite. His stone cold face is filled with nothing but hatred.
I watch in horror, as Hawk jerks my brother's arm, bending it backwards.
The crack echoes in my ears, only drowned out by the sound of my brother's scream.
"Demetri!" I drop to the ground beside him.
The other Cobra Kai's are already turning and leaving.
"It's okay," I mumble. "It's gonna be okay."
I look up to see Hawk still staring down at us.
"Just go!" I shout at him, tears spilling past my cheeks at having to listen to Demetri's whimpers.
I reach into my pocket, digging out my phone and calling 911.
By the time I've finished explaining the situation to the operator, Hawk is gone.
--
Time Skip
I wasn't able to forgive Hawk as easily as my brother did. I guess guys have a different sort of resolution to their fights. One second they hated each other, the next it was like a switch was flipped and they were best friends again.
I wasn't won over so easily, but maybe it has to do with the fact that I've barely talked to Hawk since he left Cobra Kai. Every time he comes over to hang out with Demetri, I find something to do elsewhere.
It's not until I absolutely have to, that I talk to Hawk again.
I was at work at the library where I intern. I was in charge of closing and I guess my boss didn't care if it was a sixteen year old all alone at night.
I should've locked the door after my coworker left, but I forgot.
It's my fault really.
I was shelving my last stack of books when I heard the bell of the front door.
"We're closed," I say, slipping another book into its spot.
"You hear that boys?" Kyler's voice makes my heart drop. "We got the whole place to ourselves."
A group of Cobra Kais appears in the middle of the library, about five boys.
One of them catches sight of me from my spot beside the bookshelf.
I drop the books in my hands, sprinting towards the back of the building.
Their shouts cut through the air behind me and I hear the pounding of their feet in pursuit.
I sprint down the back hallway, locking myself into the librarian's office.
The boys must not have seen where I went, because I hear them opening and closing other doors in the hallway.
I reach into my back pocket for my phone, but it's not there.
I must have left it by the front desk.
Frantically looking around, I spot the landline sitting on the desk.
I rush over to it and dial my home phone number, but no one picks up.
"Shit," I whisper, dialing Demetri next.
He doesn't answer either. My hands are shaking and my heart is about to beat out of my chest.
I try the only other number I have memorized: Eli's.
I press the numbers as fast as I can, forcing myself to take deep breaths. The door knob starts to jiggle, as I place the phone to my ear.
"Hey guys, I think she's in here!"
I press a shaky hand to my mouth, to hold back my gasp.
The phone rings...
and rings...
and
Please leave a message after the tone.
"Dammit," I mumble.
The door crashes open and I scream, dropping the phone so it dangles beside the desk by its wire.
"Looks like we've got you cornered now," one of the boys says.
I turn around, grabbing one of the books off the side table and holding it in front of me.
Kyler laughs and the others join in. "What are you gonna do?" he asks. "Smack some knowledge into me? You're such a nerd, working at the library. That's just sad."
"What do you want?" I ask.
"We just want to have a little fun. Don't we?" Kyler turns to the guys he's with and they all smirk and nod in agreement.
One by one, they're stepping closer to me. A blonde on my left is getting especially too close and I decide it's time to make my move.
I crash the book down over his head, bolting past him and around the desk.
The boys all shout in response and grab me before I can make it past the exit.
Their hands wrap around my arms, holding me in place.
I jerk and pull against their grasp, but can't manage to break free.
"You want the first shot, Andrew?" The boys turn to the blonde guy I just attacked, who's rubbing the top of his head.
"Hell yeah." He comes over to me and I start to tug harder against the hands holding me back.
"Let me go!" I shout, just to be silenced with a punch across the face.
The boys all cheer, as the left side of my face throbs.
Before I can look back, another punch is being delivered to my stomach.
It goes on like that, them taking turns hitting me until I'm gasping for breath.
Another kick is delivered to my stomach and its like I can barely feel it anymore.
"That should teach them not to pick a fight with us and not see it through," Kyler spits.
The arms around me loosen and I stumble without them holding me up.
"Let's get out of here." The boys file past me out the door, as I drop down onto the ground.
I lean my back up against the wall, struggling to catch my breath, wincing with each gulp of air.
I tell myself that I'll just sit for a little while and then I'll grab my things and go home, but I doubt I'll be able to make the walk in my condition. My vision is starting to go spotty and I’m worried I might pass out.
"Y/n? Y/n? Are you here?" The voice echoing through the halls pulls me to attention.
"Hawk?" I respond.
Before I can even sit up, he comes rushing through the door, dropping to his knees beside me.
"Jesus," he murmurs, looking at me with wide eyes.
"You came?" I whisper, not believing it to be true.
"Of course I did, I got your call. Are you okay?"
I nod, sitting up. "Yeah, I'm good."
"Here." Hawk lifts my arm, pulling it over his shoulder and lifting me up. "I'll drive you home."
We stop to grab my stuff and he helps me all the way out to his car.
I finally relax once we're on our way back to my house, letting my head fall against the head rest.
"What time is it?" I ask.
"A little after 11:00."
I sigh. "My whole family's gonna be asleep by now. I really don’t want to wake them up to this."
"You still keep your window unlocked?" Hawk asks.
"You remember that?" I ask.
"How could I forget? I spent too many nights sneaking in to hang out when you were grounded."
"God, only we were lame enough to have to sneak around just to stay home all night."
Hawk chuckles.
We pull into my driveway and Hawk hops out of the car, coming over to my side to help me.
With his support, I walk around to the back of the house, pausing below my window.
Hawk steps forward and pushes it open, turning to me and offering his intertwined hands as a platform to boost me up.
I grasp onto the windowsill and, since my bedroom's on the first floor, slip in easily.
Hawk comes in behind me and goes straight to my bathroom.
I move to sit on my bed, assuming he might just have to go, but he comes back out with a washcloth in hand.
"Can I?" he asks, approaching me.
I’m surprised by how much he cares, but nod and he presses the cool cloth to my face.
"It looks like they didn't get you too bad," he says.
Without saying anything, I reach to lift up my shirt, revealing the bruises on my stomach.
I haven't looked at them, yet, and the mixture of purple and yellow painting my skin looks worse than I could have imagined.
I turn my gaze up to see Hawk's reaction. His face is in a scowl, his nostrils flaring, as his grip on the washcloth tightens.
I'm once again reminded of why I'm so afraid of him.
"I can't believe that they ambushed you five to one," Hawk says. "Those cowards can't even make it a fair fight."
"How'd you know there were five of them," I ask.
Hawk goes back to pressing the washcloth on my cheek. "I saw them leaving when I got there."
"And you didn't stop to fight them?" I ask, confused.
Hawk furrows his brows. "No, I had to make sure you were okay."
I feel myself start to smile, because that's exactly something Eli would do.
"Let me go grab an ice pack," he pops up from the bed and leaves the room.
I take the opportunity while he's gone to change out of my jeans and blouse into loose fitting shorts and a t-shirt.
Hawk comes back from his mission, ice pack in hand, as well as a bottle of ibuprofen.
I take both, gratefully.
Hawk sits beside me on the edge of my bed, while I try and situate the ice pack on my stomach.
I can’t help but wince at the contact.
“They’re gonna fucking pay,” Hawk says.
“I’ll be fine,” I say. “Please, just leave them be.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Hawk jumps up from the bed, waving his hands and turning toward me.
The action causes me to flinch backwards, closing my eyes and putting my head down.
It’s the briefest of movements but when I look back up Hawk is staring down at me with his mouth slightly agape.
“Are you scared of me?” he asks, his voice no louder than a whisper. Almost like he doesn’t want to speak it into existence, like he can’t believe it might be true.
I shake my head, not wanting to get into it right now. “I’m just jumpy cause of everything that happened tonight.”
Hawk rolls his eyes with a shake of his head. “You forget I can always tell when you’re lying. Is that why you’ve been avoiding me?”
“You broke Demetri’s arm. Demetri may be able to forget that, but I can’t. You were awful.”
Hawk’s face falls and he drops his head, avoiding eye contact.
“I know,” he murmurs. “I’m so sorry. If you’re okay, I’ll go.” He turns to head to the window. I should let him, but something about the way his head hangs low and how he refuses to meet my eye reminds me of Eli.
“Wait,” I find myself saying.
Hawk pauses and looks at me expectantly.
“You can stay,” I whisper.
“Are you sure?” he asks.
I nod. “Like old times.” I sit back on the bed, pulling my laptop up to find the Marvel movies we always watched together.
Hawk slowly sits down on the far side of my bed, putting plenty of space between us.
“You’re not going to be able to see it over there.” I slide next to him.
We sit in silence for awhile, eyes on my laptop screen. It’s not long before I start to feel tired, my head drops slightly, resting on his shoulder.
I feel Hawk tense a little at the contact and my head jerks back up with an apology.
“No, it’s fine. I don’t mind,” Hawk says and I rest my head against him once more.
I fall asleep like that, my head on his shoulder and when I wake up in the morning my face is planted on his chest.
I rub my eyes, sitting up and the movement causes Hawk to stir beneath me.
“Sorry for falling asleep,” I whisper.
He shakes his head. “Don’t be. It was nice to hang out like we used to. I missed you.”
His words make me pause. “I missed you, too.”
We sit like that, me leaning over him staring into each others eyes until Hawk breaks the silence.
“Uh, how are you feeling?” he asks.
“Sore,” I reply, “But I’ll be okay.”
“Thank you,” I add. “For coming.”
“I’ll always come get you, y/n.” Hawk’s eyes meet mine again and I can’t help, but feel drawn toward him.
His hand reaches up to brush the side of my face.
My heartbeat is fluttering, my mind is on overdrive trying to process what’s happening.
And then he kisses me, and it’s like the whole world goes still.
When we finally pull away both of us are smiling.
“I love you,” Hawk says. “I’ve loved you since we were kids and I need you to know it.”
His confession leaves me stunned, but my answer is easy. “I love you, too.”
Even though I’ve had my reservations about him recently I know it’s true. I realized it last night. I love the boy sitting across from me, Hawk and Eli alike.

4- ^^ the other notices so they pull them into a hug, smiling as they just watch them melt
Tumblr media
while you had never been much of a fan of karate, you knew this was something you could not miss.
your boyfriends dojo was competing in the all valley tournament and you and your girlfriend were sat amongst the rivalling dojo's families almost on the edge of your seat.
while moon had assured you a number of times that everything was going to be fine, it didnt stop your nerves.
you knew hawk could handle himself, but that didnt lessen the fear of him getting seriously injured.
one wrong move and he could break something major.
it was different when you stopped by the dojo to see him training, because while part of the motto of cobra kai was ' no mercy ' no one in there was set out to truly hurt their friends.
he could get truly hurt out here.
you had shared your concerns with moon last night while hawk was doing some last minute training.
laying on her bed doing nothing in particular apart from chatting with some music in the background with her head rested in your lap.
your're not sure how you ended up sitting like it but you weren't complaining.
' hawk's going to be okay tomorrow, right? i mean- i know he does this practically every day, but it's different. these people aren't his friends, they aren't going to pull their punches. '
while you talked you felt moons hand lift to thread her fingers through yours, pulling them to her chest and pressing a short kiss onto them.
' he's going to be fine. he knows what he's doing. they're not going to pull their punches but there's referees so it's safer than a street fight. '
her words went quite a long way to comfort you as this was going to be your first time watching hawk compete while moon had seen him before.
you could trust her words.
but it didnt completely squash the nerves in the pit of your stomach.
even when hawk returned from training and told you himself that he was going to be fine.
the three of you stayed at moons overnight with the plan to drive to the tournament tomorrow morning.
and that's exactly what you all did.
after arriving at the tournament, hawk went off to join his dojo after both you and moon wished him luck and told him to kick ass.
the two of you had been sat on the benches of there venue waiting for cobra kai to compete.
more specifically, waiting for hawk to step up to the mat.
when you heard his name called you could feel moon stiffen beside you and you had the exact same reaction, your hand reaching out to grasp onto hers.
the guy he was up against was big. he looked to be about 160 pounds of pure muscle with at least 8 inches on hawk including his hair.
" oh god " you muttered under your breath, watching as both contenders bowed to eachother before assuming their first fighting position.
it was as though you blacked out until the referee called the fight, announcing hawk as the winner, even if his bloodied nose said otherwise.
it was your first time seeing him fight outside of practising at the dojo and he was very good.
with every fight it got easier to watch, until you were actually enjoying seeing him do something he loved.
until the semi finals.
you and moon were both up on your feet at this point, partially out of nerves and just needing to stand up, and partially so he knew that you two were rooting for him all the way up there.
your excitement and joy was wiped away when a swift kick to the face sent hawk flying to the floor.
you waited for him to get up like he had been doing all day, but he didn't.
his opponent was announced the winner of the match and hawk lay still on the floor.
you suddenly remembered why you were so scared.
it took a minute for him to get up, and even when he finally did he was stumbling quite a bit.
there wasnt even a discussion between you and moon before you collected your things and stood from the stands to go and find him where he was inevitably receiving a little bit of medical attention.
in the back hallways of the venue it was almost silent apart from the echo from the main area where the fights were still commencing.
the thing that gave away where he was was a pair of voices from behind a door.
moon was first through to push through the door, with yourself close in tow.
you found what you expected, a medic sat infront of hawk performing tests to ensure he didnt have a concussion and issuing bandaids, tissues and an ice pack for the inevitable headache .
when she noticed the two other girls in the room she was quick to respond
" you two can't be back here "
" it's okay," hawk interrupted, his eyes landing on the two of you. " they're my girlfriends "
" you're girlfriend can stay but you can't both be back here " you assumed the medic thought he was just a bit confused from the head trauma.
" no, we're both his girlfriend " you corrected, knowing it was hard to grasp for some people. while you tried to be kind it was very hard to be right now when you could see blood pouring out of your boyfriends nose.
" oh- how modern...i'll leave you three to it then " she muttered out, leaving behind two advil for hawk along with a bottle of water before she scuttled out of the room while a soft smile rested on all of your faces.
that was always fun.
once the three of you were alone, all forms of restraint you usually held went out the window.
" are you okay? that looked like a nasty kick " you questioned, taking the ice pack from his hand to hold against his head, his hand dropping down to rest on your leg.
" i'm fine. just some bruises and a very mild concussion " he muttered somewhat angrily.
a concussion meant he couldnt train for a couple of days.
" you have a concussion and you think you're fine ?" moon questioned, her voice rising in volume slightly as she delicately wiped at the blood under his nose with her thumb.
" yes, because i am fine. " he assured her even if neither of you were believing it.
the look you exchanged with moon was enough to communicate an entire conversation without saying anything.
that short conversation between the three of you was enough for you to know that hawk was more than disappointed he had not only lost, but had ended up with an injury other than a bruise.
so you posed a question to him
" d'you want to stay or we can get out of here before everyone else ?"
there were a few moments before he answered.
" let's get out of here. " his reply set a minuscule smile onto your lips and moons.
" i'll go grab the car and i'll meet you out front " moon said simply, picking up her bag and pressing a short kiss onto both of your lips before walking out to get the car.
" you okay ?" you asked in a volume just above a whisper.
he nodded mildly, his eyes meeting yours.
" yeah, just gotta get out of here " he replied, standing from the bench you were sat on and reaching into his bag to grab a sweater to throw on over his slightly bloodied gi.
once he collected his things, the two of you walked down the hallway towards the front of the building where moon would soon be pulling up with the car.
while you waited leant against the wall of the building, you decided to fill the silence, fiddling slightly with the edge of his sweater sleeve as it hung around his wrist.
" you were amazing today. i've never seen you fight like that before...was pretty hot "
you couldnt even keep a straight face while saying that, a slight smirk edging it's way onto your lips as you met his gaze.
" yeah, " he started, lifting his arm to drape over your shoulders and pull you further into his side. " pretty hot seeing me kick some ass ?" he muttered quietly, a soft laugh edging on his tone
" yeah, not so much watching you get your ass kicked, but for the most part " you teased, your smile almost breaking past the boundaries of your face.
you weren't surprised when that comment earned you a pinch at your waist.
a car horn scared the shit out of you, causing you to almost jump out of hawk's grasp.
it was only when you heard your girlfriends signature laugh that your heart rate started returning to normal
" sorry, didn't mean to scare you guys " while that statement was definitely false, you couldnt bring yourself to care.
after climbing into the car, moon drove you to her place seeing as her parents weren't home until tomorrow and the three of you could spend the night again.
your evening was spent sprawled out across a set of soft sheets with moon's laptop playing an old movie while the three of you went between watching it, chatting in hushed tones and sharing very soft kisses.
it was as if hawk never even lost.

@ckhalloween23 heyyyyyy bestie(s) I know I'm an entire-ass month late, BUT
HERE'S A PREVIEW OF THE ELIMETRI DARKFIC I PROMISED
Listen, y'all can't give me a "Serial Killers" prompt and the opportunity to write the dark, unhinged Demetri Alexopoulos of my dreams presented on a silver platter and NOT expect me to go a little apeshit ^^;
Or. A lot apeshit. Because boy did I let this funny little comic relief guy SNAP ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
Also, funnily enough, I realized over the course of the last year or so that I'm probably autistic? For the longest time I held off on writing Hawk's POV because I hc him as autistic and I didn't think I could do him justice, but...I've unlocked this Fun Secret Collector's Item now, I guess XD Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz POV acquired!
Decided to give it a stab here, since him having NO fucking idea how to react to Crazy Demetri was just too much fun. Hawk came to me surprisingly easy once I got started, actually??? I mean I've always related to him a lot but I had no idea it was like. An autism thing. I thought it was just an ND thing akisudhlkuhyfu
Head's up to Tory and Robby stans...this may not be the fic for you. You have been warned 👀
CW for blood, violence, knife-threatening, light knifeplay, toxic relationships (although YMMV), mentions of murder, implied slut-shaming, homophobic slurs, and sexual subtext.
Fic under the cut! As always, moodboard pic credits available upon request :3
***
Hawk’s on his 30th rep when he hears the front door.
He stops mid-jab, the punching bag rattling on its chain as it sways back and forth. Scoffing, he rolls his eyes.
His mom must be home early. How fucking annoying.
He was looking forward to having the house to himself. With his father on a weekend-long business trip and his mother at her Friday night wine hangout, he was finally going to catch up on training without any interruptions.
The last thing he needs is to be outdone by Kyler Park and Robby Fucking Keene.
Hopefully his mom won’t come knocking, pestering him to watch movies or some other frivolous crap. He doesn’t have time for that anymore.
Strange. There’s a notable lack of the jingling and clattering that usually comes from 50 million things being shifted through an oversize purse. Hawk pauses, listening for any noise.
Maybe he imagined it.
“What the hell.” He takes a sip of the Red Bull on his bedside. Some sleep-deprived delirium or whatever it was wasn’t going to fuck up his focus.
Sure, he’s been averaging 5 hours a night, but who gives a shit? It’s not like anyone in high school actually gets enough sleep.
Sensei Kreese said in ‘Nam, they had to be ready to fight on a moment’s notice—geared to slaughter enemies after a mere 30 minutes’ rest in 48 hours. Hawk doesn’t strive for anything less.
The stairs creak.
His mom isn’t usually one for sneaking past his room, but perhaps she’s too tired to be chatty. He thanks the powers that be this seems to be the case, and returns to his reps.
Jab, cross, roundhouse. Jab, cross, roundhouse. Elbow. Knee to the chest.
He counts them out as he goes, power surging through him. Sensei will be sorry he started singing Keene’s praises when Hawk’s a better fighter than that piece of shit ever was.
Because throwing someone off a balcony when they had their guard down was a coward’s move. Typical Miyagi Do bullshit.
God, Hawk hates them. Hypocrites. Losers. Pussies.
He thinks of a new insult every time he lands a punch.
Miguel’s fucking insane for not appreciating what Cobra Kai did to get payback. What Hawk did to get payback.
His fists are starting to ache, fingers burning from being smashed against rubber again and again. Hawk doesn’t care.
Sensei would say the pain makes him stronger.
Jab cross jab cross jab cross jab cross jab cross jab cross jab cross—
“You know, at some point, I think you’re as good as you’re going to get at punching.”
A shadow blocks the hallway light.
Dread grips him in frosty talons. His arms still, the punching bag swinging back and smacking his chest.
He gasps, stumbling back. Still, he refuses to look at the doorway.
Refuses to let Demetri see his shock.
“What the fuck are you doing in my house?”
He presses as much venom into the words as possible. Enough intimidation, and Demetri will back down.
He knows now that Hawk is as real a threat as he ever was. And Demetri’s smart enough not to keep poking at a tiger that’s already mauled him.
“In what world would I not remember where you keep your spare keys?” Demetri sneers.
Well. Maybe that’s a bit generous.
“What do you want?”
Hawk keeps his tone steely, hoping he can kill whatever plans are swimming around his ex-best-friend’s head before they even form. In all likelihood, Demetri’s here to be a nuisance at best and a night-ruiner at worst.
Fucking Demetri. He’s always been such a distraction.
Hawk needs to get rid of those.
He thought he did. But Demetri is apparently either too stupid or too obsessed with the past to be properly scared away.
Irritating, but admittedly also interesting. It shows a kind of boldness that he wouldn’t expect Demetri, of all people, to have.
“Maybe I want to check in on my best friend.” Groaning footfalls as Demetri starts to slowly cross Hawk’s room. “I see you avoiding me at school. And you didn’t even bother to show when your little friends crashed Sam’s party. Perhaps I want to see how you are, hmmmm?”
And try as he might, Hawk can’t pick up the usual sarcastic edge to Demetri’s tone. He frowns at his far wall, confused.
There’s something odd in Demetri’s voice, and Hawk can’t for the life of him pick up what it is.
He still refuses to look at his oldest friend. He’s not going to give him the satisfaction of undivided attention.
Demetri is a pest, and should be treated as such.
“We’re not best friends,” Hawk says tightly, landing another punch on his bag. “Whatever we were? It’s done. Has been for a long time. Why can’t you get that?”
He finally graces Demetri with a look. He’s expecting the usual sullen look—scrunched brow, open mouth, widened eyes. Like he’s eternally surprised Hawk doesn’t need him anymore.
A look where maybe, if he prods it farther, Demetri will storm off. Or run off crying. Be out of Hawk’s sight.
Be somewhere where Hawk doesn’t have to think about that night at Golf N Stuff. Or how it felt to watch Demetri writhe on the floor. Or the streams of vomit that ripped from Hawk’s stomach as soon as he got home.
Or what he did to himself in the wee hours of the morning, when no one—not his mother, not Cobra Kai, not Sensei Kreese—was around to see.
But when Hawk glances over now, Demetri is smiling.
Not a contemptuous sneer, or a pained grimace. A full-on grin, splitting his cheeks and stretching much wider than the situation calls for.
Hawk inhales sharply.
Demetri shakes his head, laughing. “It’s almost endearing, you know. What a tryhard you are.”
He squares his jaw, refusing to budge as Demetri advances on him. “I thought I made it pretty clear what I think about you. You want another reminder?”
Hawk balls his fists, trying not to think about how hard the words are to force out. How hard he’s working to keep the iron shell he’s built around himself intact.
A strange smell hovers around Demetri. Acrid and metallic, like he’s spent too much time mucking around inside one of those computers he’s so besotted with.
“How revoltingly naïve.” Green eyes burn into him like acid, the glint behind them unlike anything he’s ever seen. “You thought you’d break my arm once and be done with me?
Hawk finds himself backing away.
“I’m not going to make it that easy for you, Hawk.”
Something in the way Demetri spits his new name finally gives him clarity.
“So what the fuck do you want from me?” he spits. “Why did you come here?”
“I came here because you were right. About everything.”
Any response is snatched from Hawk’s mouth.
For several seconds, all he can do is stare. Demetri smirks, apparently reveling in getting a leg up.
Hawk is so confused that he can’t even find it in himself to be angry. A strangled “what?” is all that comes out, pulling a snigger from his adversary.
“You think you’ve got it all figured out. Becoming the scariest fighter in the Valley. Making everyone quiver at the sight of you. Doing whatever you like because people aren’t brave enough to tell you no. Becoming your badass karate teacher’s little golden child. Getting rid of your weaknesses. Getting rid of me. But there’s one thing you got wrong.”
Typical Demetri. Monologuing around the point.
But Hawk is, nonetheless, finding his confusion turning to intrigue.
The mopey kicked puppy routine had gotten unbearably tedious. At least Demetri finally has the decency to give Hawk some variety.
“Oh, yeah?” He curls his lip. “What’s that?”
Demetri casually leans on Hawk’s dresser, like this is nothing more than a Friday night video game session.
“You think I avoid fights because I’m scared. But that’s not true anymore.” And there’s that grin again—that wide, unnerving grin that looks like it was pasted on from another human being’s face. The sort of manic look that would never in a thousand years belong on Demetri Alexopoulos.
“I avoid fights because I know who’s worth fighting. And who’s worth hurting.”
Well, that’s new.
Hawk narrows his eyes, trying to piece together if this is all some kind of trick.
“See, Eli, you were right that the world isn’t kind to people who get too soft.” Demetri starts sauntering over again, and that odd, metallic smell strengthens. “Or losers. Or weaklings. Or people who admit defeat. Give in too easily. Run off cowering and scared. So I’m shaking all that off. Next time I fight, I won’t lose.”
As Hawk pieces everything together, he scowls.
“So that’s what you want?” he hisses. “A rematch? Like you’d stand a chance.”
“So touchy. Do you only think of people in terms of whether you can beat them in a fight now? Boooooring.”
Demetri clicks his tongue disapprovingly. It’s a mocking gesture he’s been doing since they were little, but now something about it feels chilling.
Hawk’s back bumps his bedroom wall. Demetri’s closing in on him.
Fucking hell—he’s getting fed up with this cat-and-mouse. Why is he even entertaining this stupid nerd again?
It’s not like he gives a shit about him anymore. Then he wouldn’t snap his arm in half.
“Fuck off, Demetri!” he roars. “I fucking hate you. I don’t give a shit about anything you have to say! Get the hell out of my house, or I swear to god I’ll break your arm again.”
He fills the words with fire and force and poison, hoping something will hurt Demetri enough to make him go.
He can’t cave again. Not after he’s worked this hard to oust Demetri and everything he represents from his life.
Not after he’s severed Demetri’s bone with his own hands and smiled with his friends about it.
That should’ve been the last straw. That should’ve been what sent Demetri running for good, abandoning everything they’d once had to save himself.
But it didn’t. It fucking didn’t.
Demetri takes another step into his space, curling his lip. “You’re full of shit.”
“Fuck you.” Eli returns his stare, baring his teeth. “How are you so sure?”
“Because you hesitated.”
Hawk goes rigid.
“I begged you to stop.” Demetri’s hands slide onto the wall on either side of him, trapping him. “And you thought about it. You didn’t break my arm until all your psychotic teammates goaded you on. If you really hated me?” His voice drops to a breathy whisper. “You wouldn’t have even thought twice.”
“You don’t know shit.”
Demetri snickers.
“Poor little Eli. You’ve always sucked at arguing when you get backed into a corner.”
“I still broke it,” Hawk growls. “You know I can do it. Easily. So how are you stupid enough that you’re still fucking with me? You some kind of masochist?”
“You still care about me, Eli.” They’re inches apart now, Demetri leering over Hawk. “You never got over me not wanting to join your little club of sociopaths. Whenever there’s a rumble, you can’t stay away from me. And you want to know what I think?”
“Shut up.”
Demetri’s voice is husky in Hawk’s ear. “You wouldn’t hurt me when there’s no one to show off to.”
Hawk’s done with this.
He lunges, shoving Demetri’s chest and flying at him with an outstretched fist. He waits for that gratifying moment of shock—the familiar shift in Demetri’s features as he realizes yet again Hawk has no intention of going easy on him.
Demetri doesn’t even blink as he moves out of the way.
Hawk course-corrects, swiveling and diving for Demetri again. He throws the fastest punch he can manage straight at Demetri’s jaw.
Why the hell won’t he give up?
Demetri’s fantastic at giving up. He always has been. He gave up on standing up to bullies and he gave up on Cobra Kai and he gave up on Sensei Kreese.
So why won’t he give up on Hawk?
Demetri doesn’t dodge this time. He only swerves, allowing the fist to graze his chin.
He lets out a hiss of pain—angry, but not surprised.
Without warning, Demetri’s hands shoot up. Hawk freezes as long fingers snake across the skin of his arm.
The next second he’s screaming, Demetri’s hands twisting until his skin burns. The other boy’s grip tightens, thrusting him toward the floor.
He’s stealing my fucking moves again.
And frustratingly, he can do them fast. Hawk barely manages to use his other arm to shove Demetri off, stumbling back.
Even one moment of disorientation is too long. Demetri charges again, teeth bared like a wild animal.
One arm slams him against his bedroom wall while the other digs into his chest, squeezing the air out of him. And Hawk hates to admit it, but Demetri’s training-broadened shoulders have a terrifying amount of power behind them.
Nothing he can’t handle. Hawk’s taken on bigger opponents before.
He squirms in Demetri’s grip, his own arms loosening enough for his hands to make a grab for the taller boy’s throat. Then Demetri’s pinning hand is gone, slipping in and out of his jacket in what feels like less than a heartbeat.
Something cold and sharp presses Hawk’s throat. His hands drop, tensing against the wall.
“What the fuck…?”
“I didn’t want to hurt you, Eli.” Demetri tilts his head, pouting mockingly. “But you make it so damn hard to talk to you. Can’t do a thing without you coming at me like some kind of rabid coyote.”
“So you pull a…are you fucking insane?”
“Like you’re one to talk, Mr. Red Hulk Rage Issues.” The pout morphs into a smirk. “Clearly, you’re not above playing dirty, using that sad little Eli voice of yours to get out of trouble. Figured it was time I caught up.”
Hawk feels something sticky dripping down his neck. His breath hitches in his throat.
He aims a hit at Demetri’s stomach. The taller boy bends with it, and the blade presses harder.
“Oh, come now.” Demetri tuts disapprovingly. “Don’t make me slit your throat.”
Hawk hardens his expression, channeling everything in him into hiding the shock.
“You wouldn’t.”
“I don’t think you’re in a great place to test that.”
And he’s right. Hawk hates it, but he’s right.
This isn’t the Demetri he knows better than the back of his hand. The Demetri he knows so uncomfortably well that he convinced himself over and over and over that it meant he was sick of the fucking geek.
This isn’t grounded, rational, sensible Demetri. Something’s snipped his threads, made him start fraying at the edges.
He’s unraveling, floating in an ether where the pragmatic and the path of least resistance that he made his life philosophy are losing their appeal. He’s…
Well, it seems he’s done some script-flipping of his own. Decided—perhaps on a whim—to overhaul everything Hawk knew and replace it with something cold and alien and completely fucking unpredictable.
Was this how Demetri felt, that day Hawk showed up at school with spiked hair and a conniving sneer? Is this some kind of payback?
He doesn’t care if this new boy with a knife to his throat killed and gutted the friend he grew up with. It doesn’t matter anymore. That relationship only ever got in the way, anyhow.
He truly could not care less. Honest.
The only emotion he feels is annoyance that this new opponent will be harder to match, with erratic moves and a quickly-thinning conscience.
This Demetri isn’t pulling any punches. One stupid or sloppy move, and Hawk will be on the floor gurgling his life out.
He’s never taken Demetri for someone impulsive, but perhaps he just had a talent for controlling his most brutal and primal urges—for his own safety, if nothing else. Perhaps he’s lost this ability.
Hawk wonders what it says about him that he isn’t bothered by this at all. If anything, he finds the whole concept exhilarating.
Fighting Demetri had gotten so boring. Now, at last, they’re on equal footing.
Regardless, there could be a trace of the Old Demetri yet. He might be able to use that.
“Put the fucking knife away or I’ll call the cops,” Hawk snarls. “Think you’ll get into Stanford with a police report on your permanent record? Or whatever fucking nerd school you’re trying to—”
“With what phone?” Demetri interrupts. “The one you left on the coffee table downstairs so it won’t distract you from wailing on your stupid bag?”
Fuck. How did Demetri even notice shit like that?
Hawk tries not to let the dismay show.
“When my mom gets home, she’ll—”
“Mommy’s not coming for you, Eli.” Demetri’s smirk widens. “Mommy’s getting drunk with all her friends to forget her unfulfilled suburban picket fence life with her nasty, violent delinquent of a son. And Mommy’s going to crash at Michelle Galinski’s house, just like she has every Friday night for the past 10 years. And oh dear…Daddy’s out of town on his top-of-the-month business trip? Looks like no one’s coming to save you.”
Fuck that. He can save himself.
Hawk makes a grab for Demetri’s wrist, other hand clawing at the arm compressing his chest. Demetri seamlessly lifts the elbow of his knife-holding arm and jabs the bony appendage into Hawk’s skin.
The knife blade doesn’t even falter, pressing more firmly into Hawk’s neck. A sting, and he feels something warm trickle toward his chest.
The scent from earlier intensifies, and Hawk realizes abruptly that it must have been blood.
“Mmmm-mmmm.” Demetri purses his lips and shakes his head, like he’s scolding a disobedient child. “It’ll make it much easier for both of us if you don’t act up. I really don’t want to cut your throat, but I will.”
As Demetri sneers down at him, Hawk realizes too late that he couldn’t cover his alarm.
“What? Don’t think I’d actually hurt you?”
The taller boy fiddles with the knife, sending little pricks of pain rippling through Hawk’s neck.
“I guess you know how it feels now,” he purrs.
Hawk spits in Demetri’s face, sudden fury overtaking him.
This pathetic nerd’s not going to make him feel bad now. Not after everything he’s done to crush the part of himself that possibly could feel bad.
“Fuck you.”
And slowly, never once breaking his gaze, Demetri licks Hawk’s saliva off his chin. The dim hallway light just catches the moisture on his face.
“Keep it in your pants, Moskowitz. We’re not there yet.”
Now Demetri’s definitely fucking with him.
It’s growing tiresome. Nonetheless, he doesn’t want that cut in his neck getting any wider.
There’s something distinctly unnerving about the way Demetri’s eyes are boring into him, sizing him up with a kind of cold contempt. Looking at him like he’s nothing more than some ugly insect to crush under his shoe.
It’s the sort of callousness that Hawk has never once—not in the entire time he’s known Demetri—been the target of.
And maybe he’ll admit it. He dislikes it for more than just the fact it throws him off.
Demetri is spiraling into someone unrecognizable, and the sheer foreignness of the whole process makes Hawk shudder.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?”
Hawk’s voice is small and weak. Like Eli’s.
He doesn’t care.
His entire sense of reality—every absolute, irrefutable truth he’s ever attached to himself and his life and his oldest friend—is uprooting and spinning out of control, and it’s not like anything fucking matters anymore.
Demetri laughs—a sharp, hollow sound devoid of any real humor.
“Like you’re one to talk. I know what you did to Brucks.”
Hawk’s blood freezes.
“Yeah, that’s right.” Demetri’s knife slides from the cut on Hawk’s neck, beginning to tease the underside of his chin. “Mitch told us what happened. And I damn well noticed when Brucks stopped showing up to school. Nice of your war criminal sensei to help you cover that up.”
Hawk’s breath comes in quick, short gasps.
Of course Demetri put two and two together. Of course he’d gone snooping so he could find something else to hang over Hawk’s head.
And the fall of that knife might be worse than the one currently tickling his jaw.
Part of him hates it. Hates being reminded of that day and hates being reminded what he’s capable of. Hates remembering the sight of a living, breathing person crumpling to the floor, and realizing they would never get up again.
But Hawk isn’t stupid. If anyone can play Demetri’s games, it’s the person who knows him better than anyone in the world.
“Demetri.” He keeps his tone as calm and non-abrasive as he can. “Who else’s blood is on your knife?”
Because it was still wet when Demetri shoved it up against him. And Demetri’s a moron if he thinks Hawk missed that.
“Ah. And we finally get to that.” Demetri chuckles, gently tracing Hawk’s jawline with the honed edge. “You see…the difference between you and me, Eli, is that I don’t need anyone’s help to hide my bodies.”
His heart drops to his feet.
“What did you do?”
“Not any worse than you.” Demetri cocks his head. “I hurt someone who deserved it.”
“Demetri.” Hawk steels his voice. “What did you do?”
Because whatever it was, Hawk sure as hell needs to take the proper precautions to make certain he isn’t next.
“Stopped at the convenience store on the way over here.” Demetri follows the knife with his eyes as he talks, expression almost affectionate. “Ran into one of Kyler’s old buddies from the wrestling team. One of the kids who used to call us fags, remember? He thought it would be fun to shove me around. So I pretended I was running my ass away, and got him to chase me somewhere a little more…private.”
Hawk gapes at him.
“Did you really…?”
“Shanked the asshole like a pig. He was so surprised he didn’t even fight back. And let me tell you, it was the most fun I’ve had in a while.”
And there’s that laugh again—the broken, disjointed chortles that feel so jarringly out-of-place. Green eyes shining with a frenetic light that makes Hawk’s hands grow slick with sweat.
Demetri leans in again, knife held steady as his lips brush Hawk’s ear.
“I know how it feels, you know. I know what it is to get so angry that you don’t even know what your body’s doing until it’s too late. Watch the life fade out of another human being’s eyes. Realize you like it. Sit there panicking about being some kind of inhuman monster and then suddenly realizing you don’t fucking care. And I suppose…I suppose that’s another reason you were right. There is a certain freedom in embracing that the world is cruel and cutthroat and unforgiving. In finally unmuzzling the wild animal thrashing around inside you and letting it hunt the way it was always meant to.”
Hawk shudders.
Sensei Kreese promised no one would ever find out about Brucks. Staged some kind of car accident or binge-drinking tragedy or drug OD or some other way stupid teenagers die all the time. Kyler was barred from the funeral, with Kreese worried (probably reasonably) that the dumbass would let something slip.
Kreese told the class that if anyone snitched, he’d be more than willing to look the other way as they met the same fate as Brucks.
Hawk hated how much he enjoyed it. He hated how after the deed was done, he couldn’t find a scrap of guilt in his psyche. It made him feel detached from himself—the abstract idea that doing that to another person was bad, but the complete lack of any emotions to back it up.
But that’s who he is now. No going back, he supposes.
Perhaps, on some level, he figured Demetri would pick up on this and leave him alone. Decide that Hawk’s path was too dark and too dangerous for his pasty basement nerd tastes, and stay huddled away with the Miyagi Dos singing kumbaya.
That would probably be best for him, anyways. Hawk still doesn’t know what other horrific shit he has it in him to do, especially when his victim pleaded so hard for mercy that would never come. When Brucks’ fruitless begging gave him an unmistakable rush.
And yet here Demetri is, claiming he was in a similar position. Claiming he lost control.
It isn’t that Demetri can’t put on an act if he needs to. But on some level, Hawk’s always been able to tell when his best friend is exaggerating or embellishing to make a story more interesting. There’s a kind of snarky undertone he uses, always giving that he isn’t completely serious. Subtle, but easy to pick up if you’re familiar with it.
There’s none of that here. If anything, this is the kind of emotional vulnerability Demetri never displays intentionally.
Until now, apparently.
Hawk bites his lip. “You’re not lying, are you?”
“You’re so cute.” The tip of the knife jabs into the underside of Hawk’s chin. “You thought I was some…what? Some sissy little do-gooder? The pinnacle of morality and mercy and all great virtues? No, no.” He giggles. “I’ve always been as fucked up as you. I only managed to keep it buried longer.”
Hawk scowls, suddenly remembering exactly who he’s talking to.
“Give me a fucking break. You joined the pussy-ass ‘defense only’ karate dojo. Your entire philosophy is about being sissy little do-gooders. Like you’d have the balls to pull even half the shit Cobra Kai—”
The knife flies back to the wound in his throat, Demetri using his arm to ram Hawk harder into the wall.
“You think I ever gave a flying fuck about Miyagi-Do?” he spits. “You think I’m some slavering pet like you, tripping over my little lapdog paws to appease my sensei’s every command? You think these asinine karate wars ever mattered to me? No.” He shoves his face into Hawk’s, blood on his breath. “You’re the one so obsessed with following orders that you can’t even remember who you were before you became some demented old man’s attack dog. You’re the one so drunk on loyalty to a fucking karate dojo that you can’t see none of this shit matters.”
Hawk bares his teeth, hoping with everything he has that Demetri won’t notice him shaking.
“Easy for you to say, when you pussied out after one punch in the face,” he sneered. “Of course you want to believe all of this is pointless when you’re on the losing team. But I’m not like you, Demetri. I’m no quitter.”
“Oh, how admirable.” The knife presses a little harder. “Tell me then, Hawk. How’s being on the same team as Kyler? As fucking Robby Keene? You excited for the chance to help them hurt Miguel again?”
Red-hot rage rips through Hawk. He lifts a leg and knees Demetri’s shin as hard as he can.
Demetri barely even winces. His other foot kicks up, ramming the side of Hawk’s knee. Hawk scrambles for balance, heart pounding as he just avoids falling into the knifepoint.
“Thought that’d hit a nerve.”
“Fuck you!” Hawk spits. “Keene was from your fucking dojo! You fought with him, too!”
“Not since he hurt Miguel.”
Demetri’s voice is frigid, rivaling the most biting winter rains. Every inch of him drips with a venomous hatred that Hawk has never seen before.
Not directed at him. Not directed at anyone.
“And now he’s in your dojo. Funny how that works.” Demetri clicks his tongue. “Guess your roaring rampage of revenge was all for naught.”
“It wasn’t.” Hawk curls his lip. “You were all responsible, and we got our paypack. It’s not our fault Miguel wasn’t grateful.”
“Ooooh, gotta love the Hawk’s impeccable logic! ‘Ah, yes, I think I will terrorize everyone in this dojo except for the person who actually almost killed my friend, who I will agree to team up with for some reason!’” Demetri returns his sneer. “Are you really such an obedient little bitch that you do whatever your precious sensei tells you? Even when you damn well know it makes no sense? You’re more pathetic than I thought.”
“Park and Keene know their place,” Hawk hisses. “They know I’m the alpha. They answer to me.”
Demetri cocks his head, looking amused.
“Even if I were to believe that. Do you like sharing a class with those assholes? Do you like knowing that if one of them were to get their ass handed to them by a Miyagi-Do or an Eagle Fang—by Miguel—that you’d be expected to rescue them?”
“I’d do it.” Hawk grits his teeth. “I wouldn’t like it, but I’d fucking do it. Sensei Kreese gave Sensei Lawrence and the others a chance to join back up with Cobra Kai, and they said no. Miguel chose his side.”
Demetri sighs, expression almost pitying.
“I guess ‘Cobra Kai for life’ trumps a Cobra’s desire to beat another Cobra into the damn ground. Kind of a shame. I think you’d enjoy hurting them.”
What Demetri said earlier circles back into his mind.
I avoid fights because I know who’s worth hurting.
Hawk straightens, keeping his composure.
“Sensei says we need all the allies we can get,” he says. “Even if we don’t like them. I’m putting up with Kyler and Robby long enough to win the tournament, and that’s it. Then I’ll find some way to weed them out.”
“I doubt it.” Demetri smiles down at him. If it weren’t for the knife, Hawk would punch his teeth in. “Contrary to how you act, I know you’re a smart guy. If you knew how to get rid of them, you would have already. No, Eli…” His voice drops to a purr. “You’re stuck with them, aren’t you?”
Hawk feels sick.
Leave it to Demetri to pinpoint his deepest fears—a karate clan filled with the worst people Hawk knew. Not a single friend to speak of, and a sensei with constantly divided attention.
Even Tory was turning out to be a fucking snake in the grass. She certainly took to the boy who nearly killed her ex with not an ounce of guilt.
And yet she believed with all of her being that Demetri deserved a broken arm for what Robby Keene did. That he was a pussy for crying out in pain. Actions didn’t matter to her—only the name branded across the merchandise you wore and the color of your gi at tournaments.
For the first time, the thought makes Hawk seethe.
All this time she’d seemed nothing but tough and fearless, but all she was was a shallow bitch who cared more about rank and status than a damn thing you actually did.
She was always going to hate Sam LaRusso for being rich and popular. She was always going to hate Miyagi Do for its association with LaRusso. But the second Keene bailed? Put on a belt with a cobra on it and showed off his snake-snatching skills?
She couldn’t wait to get on his dick. The filthy slut.
And suddenly Hawk realizes that he hates her, too. He hates so many of the people who are supposed to be his allies. But he can’t afford to think like that. And most of all, he can’t afford to let Demetri see it.
He glowers up at his ex-best-friend, keeping his gaze stony. “And why do you care? You have your posse of Miyagi losers to pal around with. Why do you give a shit what I do? Just go home to your little—”
“I left Miyagi-Do!”
The words come out in a forceful scream that practically knocks Hawk even further into the wall.
The sheer disdain in Demetri’s eyes for the group he had so cozily assimilated into sends Hawk reeling. He’d never—not in this lifetime or the next—expect Demetri to toss the whole lot of them out like garbage.
Demetri breaks into another grin, reveling in Hawk’s stunned silence.
“See, that’s another difference between you and I, Eli. I don’t need some washed-out old man telling me what to believe and how to fight. I can think for myself. And frankly, I got sick of the ‘safety in numbers’ business when it seemed ‘the numbers’ were always the ones who got to pick my enemies for me. And no one—” His eyes burn into Hawk. “No one decides that but me. I hurt who I like when I like, and I’ll fucking gut anyone who gets in my way.”
Hawk exhales slowly, keeping his scowl pulled tight.
“So…what?” Hawk sneers. “You’re going to fight Cobra Kai by yourself now? That’s so fucking stupid.”
“Not all of them. Some of your class are just brainwashed idiots who don’t know what they’re doing.” He sighs, shaking his head. “And you, Eli…well, I think you’ve lost sight of who your true enemy is. I was hoping I could help.”
“You really bounced?” Hawk narrows his eyes, still trying to make sense of everything. “After everything, you…just up and left?”
It can’t be that easy. He knows it wouldn’t be in Cobra Kai.
“Yeah.” Demetri shrugs. “And now I have way more time for important things.”
“I don’t get it.” Hawk’s frown deepens. “Why would you strike off on your own? Did something happen?”
“You happened.”
Short. Simple. Concise.
Completely baffling.
Not that that was anything new today.
Maybe it’s Hawk’s imagination, but the knife loosens a little.
“Don’t you get it?” For the first time all night, something like genuine anguish prods through Demetri’s voice. “I meant what I said. I never gave a rat’s ass about the karate wars, or the stupid dojo feuds. All I ever wanted was to be worth your fucking time again.”
All Hawk can do is stare.
It doesn’t make sense. None of this makes any fucking sense.
“And sure,” Demetri concedes after a moment. “At first, I wanted to do right by Mr. LaRusso. By Sam. They were the ones who taught me. Toughened me up into something worthwhile. Worked with all the shit you thought was a lost cause. But it was always a means to an end to stay relevant to you. Then after what happened with Moon, I genuinely thought the Miyagi-Do philosophy would help you. But I learned soon enough that you were in too deep for appealing to the Old Eli to work. No, I had to speak to you in your own language.”
He licks his lips as the knife starts to slide up Hawk’s neck again, dancing over the bottom of his chin and onto the plump skin of his lips.
“Aggression. Violence. Dominance.” He chuckles. “Wasn’t my go-to, but if it got your attention, I could make it work. And I guess I did, huh? I riled you up enough that you couldn’t leave me alone.”
“You wanted to piss me off?”
“If that’s what it took to keep you coming back for more.” And there it is again—that wide, sadistic grin that feels so brutally wrong. “You can leave me, Eli. You can disown me. You can shit on everything we had and make my life a living hell. But you can’t bring yourself to just ignore me. Because you’re so weak that you can’t bear to refuse the bait when I press your buttons. Because as much as you claim to hate me, you can’t move on from me.”
“And now you ditch your team to…what? Fight me on your own?” Hawk matches Demetri’s grin with one of his own. “I’d wreck you. And deep down, you know it.”
“So presumptuous.” Demetri shakes his head, tutting. “Frankly, I came here tonight because I’m sick of fighting you.”
“Says the one with a knife to my throat.”
“That’s because you don’t fucking listen without me having to resort to extreme measures,” Demetri hisses. “I think we’re a lot closer to being on the same page than you think. And maybe if you dropped this whole tribalism bullshit, you’d see that.”
So Demetri wants a truce. Hawk should have known.
He’s not surprised. But the way they arrived here?
Now that’s a twist.
It’s still an insane concept. Like he’s supposed to let his greatest enemy off the hook. Let Demetri get away with all the ways he’s undermined him and humiliated him and put the Old Eli—the weak, pathetic nerd Eli—on blast for all the world to see.
But if Demetri really left Miyagi Do…
Hawk finds himself wondering how much of his rage against the Miyagi Dos is his own, and how much is Sensei Kreese’s. And if Demetri’s truly deserted “the enemy,” does Hawk still have to hate him?
Does he even want to?
Demetri isn’t that pathetic, sniveling dweeb anymore. He’s crushed his old self as brutally as Hawk has.
Because the Demetri Hawk has known all his life could scarcely bring himself to cook with sharp knives, let alone use one to threaten another human being’s life.
Or take one.
But despite everything, something still doesn’t add up.
“I heard about your little rousing speech,” Hawk says. “About how important it was for Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang to unite against the ‘biggest assholes in the Valley.’ And now you’ve abandoned both of them. Was that all just a load of crap, then?”
Demetri is unfazed.
“Call me naïve, but I thought if Miguel and I were on the same team, you’d finally see some damn sense. You’d hurt me, sure. I’ve known that for a while. But I never thought you’d touch the kid you went on a vengeance quest for.” He shrugs. “Color me surprised when you wrote him off as just another enemy.”
“I told you.” Hawk works his fingers against the wall again, uneasiness trickling over his skin. “Miguel chose his side.”
“Be that as it may. I figured if you were so far gone that you were ready to wail on literally every person you used to be friends with, I needed to adjust my strategy.”
“For what?”
“For getting through to you. For getting you to tell the truth.”
And Hawk doesn’t want to think for too long about what truth Demetri has in mind.
“So you pull out a fucking knife.”
“Mhm.” Demetri snickers. “That’s how you communicate, yeah? Threats and intimidation?”
Hawk clenches his jaw. “I’m not scared of you.”
“Is that so.” The arm suddenly lifts from squeezing Hawk’s chest, long fingers seizing his wrist. He’s too surprised to pry them away.
He really should be expecting this kind of insane bullshit by now.
“Your pulse is going haywire, Eli,” Demetri murmurs. “Either you’re a liar, or something else has you energized. I wonder what that could be?”
It’s then Hawk’s mind fully catches up to its surroundings.
He rips his wrist away, pivoting away from the knife and sending a knee into Demetri’s ribs. The knife tip slices his cheek, but so be it. He’s endured worse.
Demetri gasps, stumbling back. Hawk makes a grab for the knife.
The taller boy is still too quick. He holds the weapon out of reach, using his other arm to thrust Hawk’s body back.
Before Demetri can do anything else, Hawk squats down and sweeps his leg. With a grunt, his opponent stumbles to the floor.
Something seizes Hawk’s ankles as he stands. He cries out as he’s yanked backward with surprising force, landing on the floor next to Demetri.
Hawk scrambles for the bed, trying to writhe out of Demetri’s grip and hoist himself up by the covers.
It’ll be over when I have the high ground.
What a stupid reference to think about.
It reminds him of the kind of game he and Demetri might have once played. Whoever made it onto the bed would get to be Obi-Wan, and whoever stayed on the floor would have to be Anakin, drowning in lava.
The idea leaves him feeling strange.
Demetri doesn’t let go, snarling like a hyena as he tries to tug Hawk back. The knife teases his skin, an imminent threat if he makes any moves too sudden.
He’d kick the annoying asshole away from him, but he doesn’t want the sole of his foot sliced open. If he can’t walk, he can’t fight.
Suddenly, Demetri cries out, grip loosening. In Hawk’s struggles, he must’ve rammed into a sensitive spot. He yanks himself free, scrambling onto the bed and frantically trying to plan his next move.
He realizes his mistake a half-second too late.
Demetri, gleefully bluffing, rises to his full height. Smirking, he pounces like a jaguar.
He lands heavily on Hawk’s stomach, slamming him against the bed. The back of his head smacks against the headboard, filling his vision with stars.
He barely has time to let out a pained gasp before Demetri’s knees are digging into his quadriceps, pinning him again. Growling, he aims a punch at Demetri’s throat.
His fist meets its target, pulling a strangled gasp. Hawk clasps his arms around Demetri’s torso, trying to thrust him off the bed.
For a moment they struggle, yanking and shoving wildly in an attempt to gain an advantage. Then Hawk feels long arms wrap around his back, bony fingers clutching at his throat.
The tingling pain of blade against skin, and Hawk realizes Demetri kept hold of his knife.
Whenever I think he’s finally going to drop that damned thing…
The knife jabs into him, strengthening its grip until he’s pressed flat on his back. At last Demetri loosens his grip, sizing up his victim with a satisfied beam.
Hawk squirms, bed creaking as he does his best to jostle Demetri off. The other boy holds fast, gazing down at him with a pitying look.
The blade digs in again, and Hawk’s struggles weaken.
“Come now. How many times do we have to go over this?”
“Let. Me. Go.”
“I don’t believe I was finished.”
Demetri tilts his head to the side, breaking into another crazed grin that sends dread trickling straight down to Hawk’s bones.
“Shut up Demetri.”
“I see you staring at me. All this time, and all these girls you tried so hard to fuck, and everything always comes back to your stupid middle school infatuation.”
“SHUT UP!”
Hawk squeezes his eyes shut, trying to bleach Demetri’s cold, smug expression from his mind.
“Right after you had your Bar Mitzvah, you asked me to kiss you. You figured since I already had mine, we were both adults now. And adults do grown-up things like kissing.”
“STOP IT!”
And suddenly Hawk is screaming at the top of his lungs because he knows where this is going. Because they were just stupid kids, and that can’t mean anything.
“I said of course I would, because I’d always liked you, Eli.” Demetri’s voice only grows louder—more insistent. “And I go in to give you a peck, and you grab my arms and stick your entire tongue in my mouth.”
“Shut the fuck up, Demetri!”
He feels something wet dribbling down his face, and wonders if the cut on his cheek got stretched wider in his and Demetri’s scuffle. It’s certainly stinging enough for it.
Unless…
Hawk wishes he could dissolve.
“I told you I’d kiss you a thousand more times if you wanted.” Demetri’s voice has grown sharper than his blade. “And I would have. And for a long while, I thought there might be the most infinitesimal possibility that you felt something, too. Now I know I was right.”
He laughs, the sound acrid and bitter and full of flint.
“Because even after everything, you’re still obsessed with me. You watch me across the lunchroom and pretend you’re ‘monitoring the enemy,’ but I know you miss me. You miss when I made you laugh, and you miss when I talked to people so you didn’t have to. You chase me around in every battle, but when it comes right down to it, you can’t hurt me in any significant way until you’re bullied into it. You pick fights with me so you can put your hands all over my body and not have anyone look at you askance for it.”
“FUCK YOU!”
Maybe if he screams loud enough, Demetri won’t pay too much attention to the wet trails smearing the blood from his cuts.
Caustic breath is hovering inches above Hawk, misting onto his lips. Still, he refuses to open his eyes.
“It must be exhausting, you know,” Demetri whispers. “Living your life in denial like that. Wearing your entire personality like some cheap Halloween costume and convincing yourself that’s a fulfilling existence. Don’t you want to be free?”
“I’m not hiding anything,” Hawk growls. “I do whatever I like. It’s not my fault you don’t like who I really am.”
“Who you really are, hmmm?” Demetri’s lips brush his earlobe, voice a barely-audible murmur. “So tell me the truth then, Eli. Do you still want me?”
The bluntness of the question almost blows a hole in his composure.
“Of course I don’t.”
“Stop fucking lying!”
All at once, Demetri’s voice is a deafening, furious scream again. The knife slices Hawk’s jaw.
Not enough to do any real harm, but enough to really hurt. Hawk freezes, held prisoner by the burst of sharp, sudden pain.
“It’s always lies, lies, lies with you,” Demetri snarls. “Fake name. Fake hair color. Fake personality. Fake interests. Fake friends who only kiss the ground you walk on because they’ve never seen you at your weakest. Fake relationships with girls you barely let know you—to the point you think they’d leave you for liking to code. And the absolute drivel you feed yourself that this goddamn farce is what you want to live in forever. You think you’re starring in some martial arts epic, and you’re so wrapped up in your stupid method acting that you never want to step offscreen. Like everyone’s on the edge of their seat about your pitiful life like it’s the fucking Truman Show. And at the end of the day? You’re still too much of a pussy to tell me the truth.”
Hawk’s skin tingles, shivers rippling through him. If his heart was pounding before, it’s thundering now.
Somehow it doesn’t feel like fear. He’s used to this new version of Demetri enough not to cower from him.
No, it’s something far worse. And Demetri knows it.
“You can’t hide from me.” The other boy’s tone drips with haughtiness, savoring the ability to confirm Hawk’s worst fears. “I see right through your bullshit. I always have. So I’ll ask you one more time. Do you want me?”
The knife slides down to Hawk’s throat again, pressing firmly.
“Lie and I’ll kill you.”
He’s probably bluffing. Maybe. Surely.
Perhaps it doesn’t matter anymore. Sprawled out on his childhood bed, underneath the only other person he frequently shared it with.
The person he used to watch sleep, wondering wistfully if the freak with the lip scar ever made it into his best friend’s dreams.
He opens his eyes and finally meets Demetri’s gaze, in all of its searing, insurmountable beauty.
“Yeah.”
He breathes it out quiet and fragile—a soft promise. A rare moment of openness that he lets free of his unbreakable shell.
Demetri drops the knife. It falls behind the bed, thumping onto the carpet below.
He swoops down, seizing Hawk’s neck and yanking him up. When their mouths meet, Hawk is nearly thrown back with the force of it.
Demetri kisses like a starved animal, lapping and nipping in a crazed frenzy. The weight of his muscle-toned body is crushing, locking Hawk firmly against the mattress.
He tastes like blood and cold steel and cruelty. Hawk shudders.
This time, he’s certain it isn’t fear. It’s a rush he only thought he could get from smashing his fists against plastic or skin, or feeling another person’s body go limp and lifeless underneath his.
And it’s ironic. The more Demetri tries to devour Hawk, the more Hawk wants to let it happen.
There’s an odd satisfaction to it, he thinks. Being completely at someone else’s mercy.
And Demetri isn’t fighting with any.
***
OKAY, time for some #authorrants because I feel like some of the choices I made in this fic are. Controversial, to say the least. Lmao.
So something that has bugged the crap out of me for a while now is people in this fandom acting like there is any world where Demetri would choose Robby over Miguel. I remember after S3 dropped, there was a lot of "dId tHeY fOrGeT tHe dEmEtRi-rObBy FrIeNdShIp" type sentiment floating around irt why Demetri didn't stay in contact with Robby the way Sam and the LaRussos did. Maybe it's because, I don't know, Robby threw the guy Demetri never actually stopped being close friends with over a balcony and almost killed him???
Like. Not that these showrunners don't ever forget things, but this absolutely is not one of them. Robby paralyzing Miguel is a BEYOND valid reason to sever ties with him, especially when you were just casual dojo bros for a couple months tops. When push came to shove, Demetri pretty unequivocally CHOSE MIGUEL. He brought him a comic book in the hospital! He was thrilled to see him back at school and picked up their friendship right where it left off! He DOES NOT VISIBLY FORGIVE ROBBY UNTIL MIGUEL DOES! Idk idk it just really riles me when people do not take Demetri and Miguel's friendship into account when discussing the Demetri-Robby relationship and why they stopped being friends when they did. Tbh I don't think it's that hot of a take to assume Demetri would have more loyalty to the guy who befriended him when he was a nobody and proceeded to be one of his closest ride-or-die friends for a whole-ass year over the guy he was casual buds with because they happened to share a karate instructor -_____- I could go on about this for several more paragraphs, but that's a rant for another day.
(As far as the LaRussos go, they were all closer to Robby and were basically his adoptive family, which is why they--particularly Sam--were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and say the Miguel thing was an accident. Demetri didn't know Robby well enough to make that call, and had no actual proof it WAS an accident except for maybe Sam's word.)
Some other things to ramble about:
I remember in some interview a while back (I think with Martin Kove?) someone asked about Hawk and Marty or whoever was being interviewed said he was "on his way to being a serial killer" or smth. And Jacob's talked a little bit about the kind of escalating delinquent shit Hawk would get up to if he was never redeemed, etc. So going with that: Bold of y'all to assume the kid simping for Hawk since episode 1 wouldn't renounce his morals and join him on the path to villainy. Sorry but I truly believe Demetri's horniness for Hawk can and would win out over any ethical qualms in the end. Also Demetri is horny for violence and evil this is canon otherwise he would in fact not have simped for S3 Hawk so PAINFULLY BADLY god bless
Also this was partly inspired by those post-S3 jokes that were like "lol what happened to Brucks??? Did Hawk kill him???"...well, what if he did, tho? O_____O
Disclaimer that I promise I do not endorse the Tory slut-shaming!!! Tbh I didn't really wanna write it, but...I think given the circumstances, Hawk WOULD be pretty furious at her for getting chummy with Robby and "betraying" Miguel. And unfortunately, since he's a teenage boy with (canonical!) misogynistic tendencies...I do think that would most likely come across as slut-shaming D: But y'all have brains y'all know I don't condone everything I write about aknhdksuyhf (Murder is probably not something you should try at home either btw)
Hopefully I didn't make Hawk too weaksauce in this ^^; My excuses are a) I suck at writing fight scenes and tend to just want to get to the psychosexual dialogue and knife-teasing, so. If I rushed anything to get there I apologize. b) Going by the school fight, Hawk is indeed thrown off when Demetri takes the offensive (especially in a super dramatic kind of way) and his confused pause is in fact enough time for Demetri to get an advantage and c) The man is thrown off his game!!! Thrown off his groove, even!!! His sissy pussy nerd ex-friend shows up acting like a disturbed maniac and he is so O_____o about it that his moves are off!!! He's sucking a little but it's not his fault 💔It's Demetri's for subverting expectations 💔
I also feel like if Demetri started McFucking Losing It and was generally less grounded in the physical and rational world, physical pain wouldn't register quite as much. Like he's in his head enough now that he's kinda lost his grip on reality and things happening in the physical world don't seem as relevant or immediate, if that makes any sense? Also idk. Maybe after the arm break his pain tolerance just went up :O Anyways that's why he recovers pretty fast when Hawk DOES land a hit. Demetri is nuts now 💙
I will die on my hill that Demetri like. Really REALLY isn't as morally upstanding as people like to think XD Like I say this with love but from the top he's been a self-interested little shit who just happens to be extremely loyal to the very small handful of people he actually likes. My dudes, he didn't join Miyagi Do because he liked their philosophy better--he joined because they were less on board with punching him in particular in the face XD This dude saw Cobra Kai being fucks and playing dirty at the AVT and he STILL up and says "I wanna come back because I like the 'safety in numbers' aspect of joining a gang" XD I always got the vibe the "well at least I'm not an asshole LIKE YOU" he throws at Eli later is more because he likes to feel self-righteous. I say all of this as his biggest fan btw. I think more people should embrace the self-interested king he is and write about him and Eli being absolute dicks together instead of to each other 💖
I guess that's what I'm here for!!!
Anyways I think Demetri and Eli have the same potential to be absolutely horrific people, and I think we're all very lucky that Demetri was too lazy to challenge his comfort zone and stick with Cobra Kai XD We're very fortunate he happened to end up using his speed and his brains to help his friends who happened to be on the Good Guy Side rather than his friends who happened to be on the Bad Guy Side.
I also think people put WAY too much stock in Demetri's ability to staunchly stick with the good guys and have enough of a moral backbone to just keep opposing Eli's douchebaggery indefinitely. My mans is NOT that much of a saint, trust. From how quickly he forgave Eli for a HUGE number of atrocities, he seemed to be like. Waiting on his ass for Eli to come back to him. And if Eli never did???
I mean. Bruh. Someone you've been deeply in love with for years throws you out like last night's trash and just progressively starts being more and more awful to you??? You think it's feasible for my boy Demetri to stay strong and sane and reasonable forever, and just keep on fighting the good fight??? HELL NO. This dude is either a) quitting karate and moving schools so he doesn't have to deal with constantly being pummeled by the dude he's in love with or b) going completely fucking insane from the cognitive dissonance of being in love with a dude who constantly beats his ass.
Listen. I have been in love. If my friend who I was in love with turned evil and joined an evil karate school and started wailing on me all the time, I would either pull an Aisha and haul ass out of there or I would simply lose my mind and become evil. Go full Jinx from Arcane. Sorry if you're a hater who doesn't think Demetri Alexopoulos has it in him to go apeshit, but you're wrong and also boring. The funny kooky comic relief guys are always one thread away from losing their shit because everyone assumes because they're funny and kooky they have no depth and no end to their bullshit tolerance. I would know because I am one of these Guys in real life. Put some respecc on my boy's name and also give him another knife 🔪
For anyone looking at me askance like "Demetri doesn't have it in him to kill!" Yes he does. I'm sending him over to your house to stab you right now 🩵
No fr tho, like there was MURDER in this man's eyes when Kyler was bullying Eli in the library. There was MURDER in this man's eyes fighting Robby at the AVT in S4. I have full confidence that if he could get away with stabbing his enemies, he would. So would Eli but I feel like this is a less contested opinion.
Also this is interesting so it's something I might go into detail about in another post, but one thing I noticed while kinda brainstorming how Demetri would snap is that Demetri is loyal to people, while Eli is loyal to concepts and ideas.
Demetri I don't think is actually that married to or slavish about MD principles tbh. Demetri isn't really averse to violence conceptually (even back in S1 it's only ever about him disliking BEING hit, not disliking hitting people!!) and doesn't actually do the defense-only thing that often. Several times we see him instigate with Hawk, or help Sam instigate with CK in general. The times we see him stick his neck out to really help Miyagi Do, he seems like he's doing so more out of loyalty to his friends (namely Sam, Chris, and Nate--also Miguel irt the dojo team-up at the end of S3) than loyalty to Miyagi Do as a dojo.
Eli, meanwhile, is way more loyal to concepts he puts a lot of stock in than the people in his life who challenge this. He sees Cobra Kai as this almighty saving grace that is for LIFE, and he doesn't think twice about ditching Demetri and Miguel when they turn their backs on it. He stays in this dojo even as his friends leave and it fills up with people he hates, and his sensei dismisses and ignores his concerns. Because this dojo saved him from his horrible, bullied life, and now he feels like he owes everything to the Cobra Kai name, despite who's actually behind the name. Also why I think Demetri uses "my karate dojo needs your help!" as the selling point to get Eli to join MD in S4. HIS motivation is probably much more that he just wants him and Eli to stay together, but he knows Eli values dojo loyalty above everything, so Dem kinda makes it more about that than friendship.
Anyways! That's all for now! The whole fic should be up on my AO3 sometime in December :3

Surprise, Surprise!

Request: if possible could i request an eli x reader set in s5 with his post-hawk persona and after the championship and finding out reader is pregnant? and maybe like the ripple effect it would have on everyone else? honestly you can write whatever you’d like! thanks so much
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings: Surprise pregnancy, talk
of born gender, angst!!!, cussing!!
Characters Involved: Reader, Hawk/Eli, Miguel, Demetri, Robby, mentions of Johnny and Carmen
Couple Pairing: Hawk/Eli x Reader
!!!THIS HAS NOT BEEN PROOFRED!!! forgive me!!!
A/N: hey! Thank you for the request! You’re always so sweet! 🥰 I hope you enjoy reading. I tweaked some things!
You stared down at the dreaded two lines on the test you had just taken. You were dumbfounded. You look up into the mirror and take in your tear stained cheeks and puffy eyes, “Holy shit,” you whisper to yourself.
You card your hands through your hair and take deep breath and look back down at the test. As your eyes begin to get comfortable you keep staring at your result and your mind wonders you start to think about how you’re going to tell your boyfriend, Eli, about this. You feel your heart rate start to rise. Eli was busy with other things in his life as well, he couldn’t focus on a baby right now. You two haven’t been together for a long time either maybe a couple of months. You had been best friends for years but didn’t make it official until recently. You couldn’t fathom to think about what he’s gonna say or his friends. You felt like they were going to judge you, you just knew it.
Eli had something going on today with his karate which you usually went to and supported him but you haven’t been showing up due to you feeling sick all of the time. You should’ve known since the first week with morning sickness that something was up. But you turned a blind eye and blamed it on something else. Eli started to question as well but you would always change the subject. C’mon, there was no way you were pregnant, right? Hah. Wrong.
You package the test back up to show Eli later. You weren’t sure if you were going to tell him tonight especially when he was at the championship but you had to tell him soon. You just weren’t ready to see his reaction yet. You didn’t think you’d ever be ready to see the look of sadness and regret that he was going to give you. You sigh.
You feel another tear roll down your cheek and you frown.
You decide to go to the championship to see him. You didn’t want to be left alone with your thoughts and the weight of the world on your shoulders for another minute. You get dressed out of your pajamas into something more decent. With shaky hands and another sigh you grab your car keys and decide to take the test as well.
You get in your car and sit there for a few minutes not sure if you wanted to do this; were you ready to ruin his night? Or what if he loses and he’s already down in the dumps and you just make it worse?
You facepalm and lay your head on the steering wheel, “Fuck,” you groan.
You lift your head of the steering wheel and adjust yourself in your seat and start your car.
You make it before Eli is about to take the mat. He spots you and immediately runs over to you his smile quickly dissipating noticing you obviously shaken exterior.
“Hey, what are you doing here? I thought you were sick,” he questions.
You decide to shake it off and feign a smile, “I started feeling better. I wanted to come see you.”
Eli gives you a perplexed look but lets it go, “Okay then. I’m next so–”
You grab his hand trying not shake too much, “Then go!” you smile.
Eli gives you a quick hug and runs back over to his Sensei’s. Miguel catches your eye because he was staring at you. You should’ve put makeup on before you came. You were pretty sure the puffy red eyes either made you look high or upset so you knew it would have drawn attention from others.
The fight was extremely intense especially with Eli getting hurt. You almost started crying again, you weren’t sure if it was the hormones but you kept your cool. But seeing Eli lose broke your heart. You knew it broke him too. He tried not to show too much emotion but you knew him too well. There was no way you could tell him now.
Afterwards Eli approached you and you two walked outside.
You couldn’t help but ask, “Are you okay?”
He nods his head, “Yeah. I guess so. Just disappointed in myself.”
“You shouldn’t be. You did great.”
“I lost.”
“That’s okay. You can’t win everything!”
He sighs, “Easy for you to say, you’re not the one who lost.”
“Eli–”
He looks at you quickly, “Let’s just drop it, okay?”
Your shoulders drop, “Okay.”
You wanted to tell him. You needed to tell him. He deserved to know. You couldn’t keep this from him forever. You can feel your body temperature start to rise from anxiety and your face starts to get red.
“Babe, are you okay?”
“Eli, I have something to tell you.”
Eli doesn’t break his gaze patiently waiting for you to talk.
You feel your hands start to shake and palms getting sweaty. You try not to look him in the eyes when you say, “I’m pregnant.”
Eli chuckles, “Yeah, right!”
He soon realizes that you weren’t laughing, “Y/N, come on. You’re joking, right?”
You lightly shake your head and reach in your purse for the test. You take it out and hand it to him and he takes it in his hands.
You see his eyes go wide as he almost starts hyperventilating.
“Eli–”
“Sorry, I’m just letting it sink in.”
You swallow thickly. You were waiting for him to drop the bomb. You were fully prepared to have your heart broken. How were you going to be able to take care of a baby on your own? So many questions and assumptions start chaoctically swirling through your mind. You expected the worst, as always.
He looks at you, “We can do this.”
You look in his eyes searching for any sign that he’s joking. You pay special attention to his body language as he talks.
“Really?”
He lets out a puff of air, “I mean, I think so. Are you wanting to keep it?”
You nod your head, “I was planning on it.”
Eli develops a small smile on his face, “Okay. Okay. This can’t be too bad, right?”
You shrug your shoulders with no answer for him.
“I’m gonna be a dad.”
You start to feel the tears in your eyes, “Yeah, you are!”
He gives you a hug and then separates from you, “We’ve gotta tell the others!”
You feel your anxiety creep back up in you. You still have nothing to say about that. You weren’t sure how they were going to react. You were so afraid that they were not going to see as their friend anymore.
“O–oh–okay, let’s go tell them then,” you pretend to be excited.
Eli grabs your hand and quickly runs inside with you tagging along behind him.
Eli and you join in the group and he interrupts their conversations, “Guys! We have news.”
You look up at Miguel and Demetri knowing that they and Eli were close and you were afraid of how they’d feel. Everyone looks at Eli furrowing their eyebrows from confusion.
“Y/N is pregnant!”
You see Demetri’s face drop from pure surprise. Miguel covered his mouth to hide his slack jaw but uncovered it and gained a smile. You looked at everyone else who were shocked to their cores.
“Do you want us to be excited?” Robby asks you two.
You and Eli look at each other and smile with you answering, “I think so! We are wanting to keep it!”
That’s when everyone breaks out with their excitement and all come in for a group hug. You didn’t expect this kind of reaction from them, especially when you were thinking of the worst.
Eventually it is just you, Eli, Miguel, and Demetri together.
Miguel asking, “So what’s gonna be the name?”
You laugh, I have no clue! I literally found out about it today!”
Demetri lifts his hand to his chest in shock, “No way! You need to find a good doctor so they can give you ultrasounds.”
Miguel hums, “Mhm. True!”
Demetri continues, “What if there’s something wrong? Or what if the baby isn’t healthy or somehting?”
You hear Eli chuckle, “Calm down, dude. I’m sure she’s fine.”
“But what if she’s–”
Miguel puts his hand up to silence Demetri’s babbling, “You and my mom should get in touch! She’s pregnant too.”
Eli looks at Miguel wide eyed, “No way. With Sensei?”
You almost laugh at the boys shocked faces while Miguel shakes his head.
You say, “Maybe I should. I do need to know the ins and outs.”
Demetri says, “That’s true. This your first pregnancy. Your body isn’t used to this. What if you start losing teeth or your hair? It happens a lot with pregnant women!”
You look at him, “How do you know so much about this?”
Demetri shrugs his shoulders, “Research.”
You all laugh at him and Miguel goes on about Carmen and Johnny hooking up with a grimace on his face.
After the whole detailed conversation Miguel asks, “Are you hoping for a boy or a girl?”
Eli, of course, wanted a son and you wanted a daughter.
Since the choice was a 50/50 split the boys started placing bets on what the gender would be making laugh.
You couldn’t believe how well everyone took the news. You also couldn’t believe how supportive Eli was. You were definitely expecting driving home with more tears and a dull ache in your chest. But that didn’t happen.
You and Eli were going to be parents. You couldn’t believe it.

Could you maybe write something with Hawk and a plus size gf who feels pressured to lose weight and when she does lose some weight she doesn't feels good about it? And he finds her crying because she feels ugly?
(This is short & unedited, might add on to this and post on ao3 at some point.)
Tumblr media
“Fuck off Hawk, she doesn't want to talk to you right now.”
Tory's voice was snarky as she leaned against y/n bedroom door. Her eyes narrowed at the teen in front of her.
Hawk raised a brow saying “Why are you even here? I was supposed to take y/n out for a date to the mall today. No way in hell I would let you tag along. She's my girlfriend, why can't I see her?” the thought of simply shoving the girl out of the way and going straight into y/n room was quickly bubbling up in the back of his mind. For a moment they just stud there. Hawk crossed his arms as he waited for some kind of reply. He got nothing.
That was until a muffled sob came from behind the closed door that Tory leaned against.
Tory huffed as she replied back “She just doesn't want anyone to see her right now especially you.” She tried to stand her ground. Hawk was quickly becoming irritated by the blond. The small muffled cry’s only increased the longer they stood infront of the closed door. Hawk’s could feel his impatient nature starting to bloom. A split second later he was scoffing before shoving the girl to the side and opening the door. Running into the room he quickly locked the door before Tory could try and get in behind him. He smirked for a second before turning to look around the room.
Clothes where thrown about making it look like some kind of tornado had hit. Pants and shirts lined the floor. Skirts and shorts where layered on y/n bed making it impossible to sit down on. His eyes scanned around the room trying to find where the source of the crying was coming from. He finally made his way around her bed to find her sitting on her floor, eyes glued to the body length mirror. Her eyes where puffy and glossed over with tears. He could tell she had been crying for a while from the tear streaks down her cheeks. He could even make out a few droplets that fell onto her neck.
“Hey now, why are you crying Princess? And why does your room look like someone trashed the place.” Hawk said as he kneeled down and slowly sat beside her on the floor. She sniffled out a soft “Remember how I said I wanted to loss some weight? Just a little so maybe I could fit into that cute skirt you bought me at the mall a few weeks back.” Hawk nodded, remembering how he had accidentally picked up the wrong size, he had found a cute skirt that he knew y/n would love. The style fit her perfectly in his eyes. It wasn't until he gave them to her as a gift that he realised he grabbed the wrong size. He offered to take it back and get the right size, but she quickly told him it was ok and that maybe she could loss just a few pounds and could fit into them. It was a excuse to try and loss some weight for a promising goal of fitting into a brand new skirt.
“Well I lost the weight and thought I would wear it when we went out, because when I tried them on I finally fit in them.”
Hawk could only grin and smile. Happy that his girlfriend had meet a goal that she was really trying for. Smiling he said “Well that’s great! I knew you could do it, you have been trying so hard the past few weeks to meet your goal. I’m really proud of you, why don’t you put it on and we go out now.”
Before he could say anything, she was crying again.
“I’m so fucking ugly in this! Why would I go out like this, I’m just going to embarrass the both of us Hawk!” Her tears where flowing heavy now down her cheeks. She stud up, showing the cute skirt he had bought her. Hawk’s gaze hardened as he looked at her saying “What are you talking about you look great! I love it, you look hot.” his eyes never leaving her body as he looked up at her from the floor. She stood up next to her, both of them looking in the mirror. She harshly grabbed at her lower stomach, gripping the soft flesh of one of her rolls. Hawk quickly pulled her hands away saying “Hey stop that, I like it.” he rubbed at the softness of her belly for a moment.
Huffing he looked at her saying “Y/n, I know for a fact I have said it before and I will say it again. I don't care what you weigh or even what YOU think you look like. I love you because of who you are, both on the inside and outside. I like you big, medium or small. Your always going to be attractive to me no matter what. And guess what, fuck everybody who says or thinks anything about you just because you have some chub, because me and a whole bunch of other people like Tory don’t care either. Because your beautiful, no matter what you look like.”
He rubbed at some of the tears on her cheeks and under eyes before smiling.
“Now dry those tears and let’s get going. Your going to wear that skirt out on our date, for me, because your hot and I want to show you off today.”

““Hey, Eli! I’ve Got Something of Yours!”
Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz x Reader
Masterlist
Tumblr media
(Gif not mine)
Requested? No
Summary: It’s not easy finding your soulmate. It’s even harder when they don’t use their real name…
soulmate au: Once you turn exactly 16 years old a tattoo will appear on your wrist with your soulmates name. (If your soulmate turns 16 first, your tattoo will appear when theirs does)
Warnings: starred out swear words, alluded to violence, assault, warring karate dojos, mildly OOC Demetri Alexopolous
Pairing: Eli “Hawk” Moskowitz x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
“Bro!”
“Happy birthday, man!”
“Gonna throw a killer rager for you tonight, you in?”
“Yeah, dude, it’s gonna be sick!”
Eli Moskowitz, or Hawk as he was more commonly referred, offered his friends a brief smile, thanking them for their well-wishes on his big day, but much too preoccupied with his own thoughts to give them any more than that. His focus, regrettably, was far more so on the phone in his hand. The device, though not unlocked, still displayed the time just fine, and that was, after all, what had been encompassing his attentions.
You see, Hawk had been born almost exactly sixteen years prior, at 11:49am. This particular fact meant that, in precisely two and a half minutes, his life would change forever. Because, at 11:49am today, his soulmate’s name would appear in permanent black ink on the inside of his wrist.
“Guys, leave him alone. He’s clearly not paying attention to you.” Tory said, smirking a little and gesturing towards her own wrist, which was blank, but got the message across just the same. Hawk made a face at the girl, but wasn’t really annoyed. Nothing could ruin his mood today.
“When are you supposed to get your tattoo?” Mitch asked, joining into the conversation. Hawk didn’t look up from his phone as he answered.
“Minute and a half.” He mumbled, running his thumb absentmindedly over the empty spot on his arm. Mitch’s eyes widened across from him, the others’ following suit. No one has known the exact time. That is, until the Mohawk-clad boy had just said it. Mitch spoke up for all of them.
“D*mn, dude. Well, good luck.”
Now this comment, while certainly well-meant, earned a sudden frown from the birthday boy. He’d been so excited to find out who he was to spend the rest of his life with, that he hadn’t even considered the other possibilities; that they might be one of the unlucky pairs who didn’t live near one another, or God forbid, never even met…
The alarm on his phone went off, knocking Hawk from his nerve-wracking and unwelcome thoughts, and the boy looked at the time.
11:49am
+ + +
“‘Eli Moskowitz’? Who the he*l is ‘Eli Moskowitz’?” (Y/n) took in her now ink covered wrist, shocked above anything else at its sudden appearance. Her birthday wasn’t for another few months, but she guessed it wasn’t so weird that he would be older than her. Didn’t stop her from being completely blindsided, though.
All (Y/n) had wanted that day was to get through her math class in one piece. Getting her soulmate mark randomly five minutes before the bell rang was not exactly high on her “to-do list.”
“How am I supposed to know? I didn’t even know it was your birthday today.” Her best friend, (Y/f/n), fired back, clearly annoyed by the lack of information she’d been given. (Y/n) was quick to correct her.
“It’s not.” She reassured, not wanting (Y/f/n) to think she’d been keeping things from her. But, it seemed, the thought couldn’t leave the other’s head fast enough, as another swiftly took its place.
“Ooooooh so he’s older. Sexy.” She commented with a smirk. (Y/n) rolled her eyes. That was clearly not what was important at the moment.
“You’re not helping.” She complained, her eyes returning to the loopy letters on her skin, trying to pick her brain for anyone she might know with a matching name, or perhaps with a birthday today, but ultimately coming up short. Who could it be?
The bell rang loudly, distracting (Y/n) from her thoughts, as she moved to collect her things. (Y/f/n) did the same, before turning to wait for the newly minted soulmate of one “Eli Moskowitz.”
“Come on, it’s lunch time. Maybe we can ask around there.”
+ + +
“(Y/n) (L/n)”
Hawk was just about 100% convinced he was going to lose his sh*t. It was 12:30, almost forty minutes since he’d gotten his tattoo, and he still had absolutely no idea who his soulmate was.
Not from a lack of trying, of course. The boy was glad he’d had lunch that period, for he was certain he wouldn’t have paid attention in any of his classes, his mind completely overtaken with questions about (Y/n).
He’d searched every social media site he could think of for anyone whose name matched his soulmate’s, but either she didn’t have any accounts, or she didn’t use her real name; a fact that, Tory kept reminding him, wasn’t too strange of a thing to do. But if he couldn’t find her online, what was he supposed to do?
“You could ask around?” Mitch offered, him and the rest of the Cobra’s getting tired of watching their unofficial-official leader pout like a toddler.
At this point, Hawk felt like an idiot. Why hadn’t he come up with that idea himself ages ago? It seemed so obvious now that someone had put it out there.
He stood from his chair so fast it almost fell over, teetering dangerously on its hind legs behind him, not that Hawk would have noticed, nor cared if it did, his eyes far too focused on searching the cafeteria for anyone he deemed “suspect”…
+ + +
“I mean, you could always go ask someone over there.” (Y/f/n) gestures towards the other side of the cafeteria where the football team and the warring karate dojos sat; the “popular kids,” for lack of a better term, and the only people (Y/n) had yet to bug about the mysterious “Eli Moskowitz.” (Y/n)’s eyes widened to the size of saucers at the idea.
“I’m awkward, are you crazy?” She all but screamed. Though, with the entire high school population currently packed into one room, each and every one of them talking over one another, she doubted anyone cared all that much for her volume. (Y/f/n) rolled her eyes at the girl’s dramatics.
“You will be fine…” But suddenly, she wasn’t looking at (Y/n) anymore. Her gaze having zoned in on something over her best friend’s shoulder, and a lightbulb seemed to go off in her head. Needless to say, (Y/n) was considerably concerned. “Here, I know Demetri. Let’s ask him if he’s heard of him.”
And before (Y/n) could argue with her, (Y/f/n) was waving down this “Demetri,” who quickly made it to their table with an awkward smile, and a dorky t-shirt to rival even the best of the nerds (Y/n) had been prodding for information just moments ago. In the nicest way possible, Demetri didn’t look like he belonged with the cool kids…
“Hey, do you happen to know an “Eli Moskowitz?” This one got her soulmate tattoo randomly today and we can’t for the life of us figure out who he is.” (Y/f/n) spat out in one breath, but (Y/n) didn’t have time to be either impressed or concerned about that, as she watched Demetri’s eyes widen in shock… and recognition.
“You know him?” She asked hopefully, knocking the boy from his stupor. He nodded quickly, though there was a weird look in his eye. (Y/n) couldn’t fathom why, but she didn’t necessarily care all that much to figure it out either. Demetri knew Eli…
I’m gonna meet my soulmate…
“C’mon. I’ll take you to him.”
Now, (Y/n) wouldn’t say she regretted accepting Demetri’s offer to introduce her to Eli. Knowing what she does now, she doubted she’d ever have had it in her to go up to him on her own, but she wasn’t necessarily the fondest of being blindsided, especially not for the second time that day. Demetri’s grip on her arm tightened, and his loud voice boomed across the cafeteria, calling out tauntingly to a boy (Y/n) was certainly not expecting. She contemplated whether or not she’d ever been speechless before, deciding this would quantify as a first, as Demetri’s words met her, and everyone else’s, ears…
“Hey, Eli! I’ve got something of yours!”
+ + +
Hawk turned at the sound of Demetri’s voice, not understanding what he could mean. That is, until his eyes met the girl, who’s arm was held tight in Demetri’s vice-lick grip. Could it be?
“This is yours, right?” Demetri asked with a cheeky smirk, holding up her wrist to show, clear as day, “Eli Moskowitz” inked on it. And Hawk’s heart stopped.
She was so beautiful. Her bright eyes, and soft-looking hair; the boy practically swooned. All he wanted to do was wrap her up in his arms and never let go. This girl was his; the universe said so, and he wanted her to know just how excited he was to spend the rest of his life with her.
But, presently it seemed, she was rather held up…
“Demetri, get your hands off her.” Hawk ordered, through gritted teeth. He was trying to stay calm. He didn’t want to scare (Y/n). Not to mention the fact that she was still very much in the line of fire. If she got hurt Hawk didn’t know what he would do with himself. Demetri grinned, condescendingly, back at him.
“I don’t think I want to just yet.” He commented, his fist tightening around her wrist. (Y/n) looked up at him nervously.
“H-hey, that hurts…” she mumbled, but he ignored her. Hawk’s blood was practically boiling.
“Demetri, I swear-“ He started, but the other boy wouldn’t let up. He was playing a dangerous game with the little “hostage situation” he had going on…
“You can have her, when you swear to stop messing with Miyagi-Do.” He demanded. It was clear Demetri hadn’t thought this through. Hawk knew, the minute (Y/n) was out of harms way, his fist would be making a sizable dent in Demetri’s face. He didn’t care what he had to promise to get it there. It was happening. And once Demetri didn’t have Hawk’s soulmate as a human shield, there would be absolutely nothing to stop him.
“Hands off first.” He ordered, trying to catch (Y/n)’s gaze, if only to reassure her, but her eyes were glued to Demetri’s hand on her, where she was currently trying very hard to pry his fingers away, but to no avail.
Hawk figured, in any other context, he’d find her inability to do something that involved physical strength quite adorable. He*l, he was already daydreaming about being called over to her place to help her move furniture or open pickle jars (what can he say? He’s a simple guy), but, right now, it wasn’t cute. Now, it was dangerous.
Demetri looked at Hawk, visibly trying to decide whether or not he should believe him, but, though he tried hard to hide it, the worry on Hawk’s face was clear as day. And so, he let go…
+ + +
This was definitely not what (Y/n) wanted to do today. Yesterday, all she had to worry about was turning in her English paper on time. And now, whether she liked it or not, she was in the middle of a gang war.
But, she also knew she wouldn’t trade the way today went for anything in the world. She found her soulmate, and, even though he had strange spiky red hair, and an entourage of cronies ready to fight all his battles for him, Hawk was perfect, and he was all hers.
And she would certainly much rather be in his tight grip right now then Demetri’s. Hawk, for starters, wouldn’t be in the process of leaving a handprint shaped bruise on her arm, like Demetri was, either knowingly or unknowingly, doing at that moment. She figured knowingly, as her pleas and attempts to escape went on deaf ears.
She was ignoring the conversation happening around her, putting most of her energy into readying herself to snitch and scream for a teacher, when suddenly Demetri’s hand was gone. (Y/n) looked up between the two boys, wondering what she’d missed but deciding it wasn’t worth it to stick around and find out. Her wrist hurt and her soulmate was right in front of her. She had more important things to worry about.
“(Y/n)?” And that was all the prompting she needed, her body moving faster then her brain was, and when they caught up to one another, she was already hiding in her Mohawk boy’s chest, his arms wrapped around her back protectively, which she greatly appreciated.
“Get lost while you have the chance.” Hawk suddenly spoke threateningly, and (Y/n) figured he was talking to Demetri. She didn’t even look up to see if he had heeded the warning. Demetri whatever-his-last-name-was had officially made the list of people (Y/n) didn’t care what happened to. He was a jerk, and the girl would definitely be questioning (Y/f/n)’s judgment on being on a first name basis with him, but all that could wait. The confrontation was winding down, which meant, (Y/n) would finally be able to talk to the boy she was meant to spend forever with…
+ + +
Hawk was still breathing heavy as he watched Demetri scurry off back to the rest of the Miyagi-Do p*ssies, all his confidence gone now that he’d lost his leverage. Idiot…
But the, slightly unsteady, rise and fall of a chest against his own was enough distraction to get his mind off the subject and onto something much more important… or, rather, someone…
“You’re okay now… I won’t let him touch you.” He promised, knowing that the pair of them most definitely had gained some onlookers, wondering what the he*l was going on, but Hawk didn’t care in the slightest. If they made fun of him later for being protective of his girl, he’d just beat the crap out of them like always.
“I believe you…” (Y/n) mumbled into his shirt, her sporadic breathing having calmed immensely, or at least returned to somewhat normal. Hawk let out a sigh of relief at the realization, but before he could even think about saying anything, she was speaking again. “I didn’t wanna-I mean-I wish we didn’t meet like-like this…” She continued to talk directly into his chest, though Hawk heard her just fine, and his heart clenched at how sad she sounded. He wanted to rip Demetri’s head from his shoulders for doing this to her, because she was absolutely right. This wasn’t how they were supposed to meet one another, but it was too late now…
“I know. But, hey, we met, right? That’s what’s important.” He said, running his hands up her arms in what he hoped was a comforting manner. She nodded slowly in agreement, the top of her head brushing against his chin when she did.
Hawk smiled a little at the motion, still completely floored by how absolutely perfect she was. Her height, he was now noticing, perfect for hugs, a fact he would most certainly be taking advantage of from this point forward. Well, no time like the present… “C’mere you!”
(Y/n) shrieked in delight, a loud laugh leaving her body, as Hawk’s grip tightened around her waist, the Mohawk-clad boy spinning her in his arms with a wide smile of his own. That laugh… God, he could get used to that.
“Eli! Put me down!” She cried out, and Hawk, who didn’t think his smile could get any wider, was promptly proven wrong.
He didn’t let anyone call him Eli. Ever since the new look, he’d been “Hawk,” and anyone who thought differently was greeted with a swift fist to the mouth. That is, until the small word left (Y/n)’s lips. Hawk decided then and there that he never wanted to hear her call him anything else.
“Seriously, I’m wearing a skirt!” She complained, though she didn’t sound all that angry. Hawk was quick to do as she asked anyway, his hands moving to the bottom of said skirt to make sure it was sitting right, as her own straightened his top.
“Hey, Eli?” She said after a moment, her eyes once again meeting his. He nodded for her to continue. She dramatically pouted, an expression Hawk knew would trick him into doing anything she wanted over the course of their forever together.
“I don’t know if I’m gonna make it through Spanish class after all this.” She said with a sigh, to which Hawk chuckled, leaning in to whisper back to her.
“Don’t tell Señor Chang, but you’re definitely not going to Spanish class after all this.” He punctuated his statement with a suggestive wink and (Y/n)’s gasped, smacking his shoulder lightly, though her uncontrollable giggles did away with any semblance of annoyance.
“Shut up!” She managed to get out, before tucking herself back into his chest, probably to hide her quickly reddening cheeks, though Hawk didn’t mind in the slightest, as his arms wound back around her waist. It felt so right, like they were always meant to be there.
Yeah… Eli decided. I could definitely get used to this…

I’m woken by the sound of tapping on my window. Rubbing my eyes I look towards my clock reading 11:15 pm. Sighing I sit up tossing my covers off walking to open the window. Not surprising when I see a bruised and bloody Eli or as most people call him Hawk waiting to be let in. Letting him in, I walk straight to the bathroom Eli follows close behind. He sits  on the side of the tub while I grab the first-aid kit like I’ve done at least once every week for the last few months.
Sighing I turned to him after getting a warm washcloth, “Again really Eli?” Gently wiping the blood from his face he hides a wince when I go over a cut on his eyebrow with a laugh, “You should see the other guy.” Not saying anything I drop the bloody cloth in the sink grabbing a cotton swab with antibiotic ointment on it, “No I really rather not.” Finishing putting ointment on other cuts that scatter his face I cover the ones I can with bandaids. “Can you not go one week without getting into a fight?” I say with a sigh rubbing the bridge of my nose. “If I did that then I wouldn’t get to see my favorite nurse.”
Putting away the first aid kit I turned my head towards him, “I’m not a nurse just someone who patches up a dumbass who keeps getting into fights.” I finish saying as I walk back to my room. “Aww come on you know you love getting to see this pretty face. Plus at least half of the time I’m not the one who starts it.” he says with a laugh. Turning to him I let out an irritated scoff, ”Really Eli you really think I like seeing you come to my window all busted up. Once Eli just once I would love to see you without having to patch you up.”
“Why are you yelling at me?” says with a look of surprise on his face. I hadn’t even realized I had been raising my voice. I lowered my voice a bit so as to not disturb others in the house but keeping the same tone as before. “Because I have to stand here and patch you up time and time again I can’t keep watching someone I care so much about keep getting hurt.” I say, taking a breath to calm myself a bit. “It’s really not that big of a deal.” he had more to say but I didn’t care at that moment, but I’ve kept this in for too damn long. “It is a big deal when every night when you leave after I patch you up I’m stuck wondering if this could be the last time I get to see the guy I love. I can’t keep doing this. Maybe it’s for the best that we stop whatever this is.” sighing I whip away a tear that slipped past my eyelashes.
Hearing me say this and seeing the look on my face broke his facade, “Please you don’t really mean that. I’m sorry please I can’t lose you, you’re all I have left. I’ll change. I’ll stop all the fighting just please I can’t lose the only person I love.” As I stand there I see the real Eli come out not Hawk but the boy who stole my heart from the start. I notice the way his breathing starts becoming gasphs. Slowly I started walking closer to him gently placing my hands on his upper arms.
“Eli” I say gently trying to get him to stop and look at me instead he just keeps rambling on while gasping for air. Lowering myself so I can look into his eyes I move my hand to cup his cheek, “Eli hey, look at me I need you to stop and breathe with me. Okay?” Slowly Eli finally nodded his head. “Okay ready breath in”, I hold the breath for a few seconds before releasing it back out, “and out. Good one more time.” Seeing his breathing finally steady again I slowly move him to sit down on the edge of the bed. Keeping quiet I stand in front of him.
“Thank you.” he let out so quietly that if I wasn’t standing in front of him I would have missed it. I send him a gentle smile. “Eli listen please I’m not going anywhere I was upset and you have to understand I can’t keep having you show up at my window all bruised and bloody. It hurts each time I see you like that and the only thing that runs through my mind is how much worse it could have been. I love you and each time I patch you up leaves me so worried for the time that I find out that something worse has happened. I mean just look at what happened to Miguel. I can’t imagine what I would have done if that was you. I’m not trying to change you but please be more careful.” I finished letting out the breath I didn’t know I was holding.
What feels like hours past before Eli stands up moving his hand to cup my left cheek. I close my eyes leaning into his touch while he speaks, “I’m sorry.” He brings his forehead to mine before continuing,” I never meant to make you feel like that. You have always been the person I come to when things are bad and I just wanted to feel safe and loved like you always do. I didn’t realize how much worse I looked coming to you beat up after joining Cobra Kai. Instead of it being small scraps and bruises you had to deal with so much worse. Me being in that fight when Miguel fell and you being there somewhere I was so worried that someone might hurt you that I didn’t realize that you thought the same. I know you would never try to change me and that is one of the reasons I love you. I promise I’ll be more careful from now on. Okay?” He finishes his response by leaving a gentle kiss to my forehead before bringing me into a hug. “Okay.” I say wrapping my arms around him.

☆ samantha larusso x gender neutral reader dating headcanons
warnings: violence, angry sam
summary: n/a
author’s note: everytime sam larusso beats someone up on cobra kai i start twirling my hair and kicking my feet
Tumblr media
♡ sam can be incredibly overprotective. especially when the tension between dojos gets really intense. she’ll always be holding your hand or have her arm wrapped around your waist so your both close. (for protection. of course. and cuddling)
♡ she is so caring and attentive. sam remembers all of your favorite things and gives incredibly sentimental presents. y’all probably have a couple of inside jokes that confuse the hell out of other people.
♡ are you into karate? on one hand, that’s good. when karate really takes over her life that doesn’t impede upon her time with you. you both likely train together (even if you’re not in the same dojo) and always cheer one another on. unless you’re in cobra kai. if you’re in cobra kai she’s fighting tooth and nail to get you out of there.
♡ if you’re not into karate you won’t train with her, but she loves to have you come by the dojo and watch. queue you swooning over sam kicking people's asses!!
♡ she tries to be humble but secretly she loves showing off to you
♡ during the whole karate war she hardens on the outside, and you’re one of the few people who gets to see her dorky side.
♡ sam is adorably grumpy at times. although she may need some space once she returns she angrily demands cuddles and head scratches. asap >:(
♡ she loves it when you run your hands through her hair (just not too rough so you don’t damage the curls)
♡ if we’re talking bi sam larusso i’d like to introduce you all to daniel larusso saying ‘lgbtq’ like he’s a new york city pizza delivery man
♡ girl gets jealous so easily, especially if you’re getting friendly with someone from an opposing dojo. if tory flirted with you though? the earth would shake with her rage. people will die (probably tory.)
♡ if an opposing dojo targets you the rest of miyagi-do will have to hold sam back from burning whoever it is to a crisp.

Bruises (Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Growing up with Johnny Lawrence as a dad, you knew karate better than anyone. When he opens Cobra Kai, you're his first student alongside Miguel. As he recruits new students, you and Hawk become close, but once Kreese takes over the dojo it causes a division between the two of you. How will you overcome it?
A/N: writing this because I'm extremely bored so beware, takes place during the season 3 finale fight at the LaRusso house
Warnings: violence, injury, angst, probably language, unedited writing
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They completely caught us off guard. One minute all of us were just relaxing in the LaRusso's kitchen, the next our friend was flying through the window.
Hawk comes in through the side door, a smirk on his face, as his fellow Cobar Kai students follow.
We all back away, only to be startled by Tory bursting through the front door behind us.
Within seconds, a fight breaks out. I block an attack from the nearest Cobra Kai and send my foot into his stomach, knocking him away from me.
Another guy attacks me to my left, but I grab his arm, twisting him over my body.
The first guy comes at me again and manages to connect a punch to my jaw.
I brush it off, dropping down and sweeping his legs out beneath him, dropping my foot down hard on his stomach to keep him down.
I don’t have time to turn, before one of the other guys comes up behind me and puts me in a headlock.
I grasp at his arm pressing down on my throat. Swinging my head back, I headbutt him, forcing him to release his hold. I jump to turn around and face him, ready to keep fighting if I have to, but falter when I realize it’s Hawk.
He doesn’t seem scathed by my attack, but he’s letting out a chuckle, cracking his neck and preparing to fight.
I haven’t fought Hawk head on, ever. I’ve sparred with him hundreds of times, but ever since we ended up on opposite sides of the karate feud, I’ve managed to steer clear of having to fight him.
It’s not that I’m afraid I’ll lose, I’m the girls All-Valley Champion and have held my own against Hawk before, I just don’t know if I can handle the reality of hurting my best friend.
“Hawk…” I say in warning, putting my own hands up on the defensive.
“Let’s go, Lawrence.” Hawk pulls his fist back, swinging at me and I dodge. He goes for a kick to my side, but I block it with my arms.
I step back down the hallway, trying to back away from him.
“Come on, hit me,” Hawk taunts, as he continues to approach.
“I don’t want to fight you,” I say.
“Well, too bad.” Hawk rushes towards me, but I slip out of the way and grab his arm with one hand, pushing at his chest with the other to send him flat on his back on the ground.
I press my knee against Hawk’s chest, as he pants for air. Even after I knocked the wind out of him, he still can’t wipe that stupid smirk off his face.
I pop back up, running across the house. I catch sight of Demetri, struggling to fend off like three guys and jump in to help.
I grab the first guy, and since he doesn’t see me coming I get a few strong punches in and he’s out.
Unfortunately, one of the other guys gives me a strong kick to the stomach that sends me to the ground.
I let out a gasp. I can’t even sit up right now, I’m trying so hard to catch my breath. One of the other guys jerks me up by grabbing my shirt, pinning me against the nearest wall, with his hand wrapped around my throat.
I see Demetri over his shoulder, who’s still fighting against the other Cobra Kai, unaware of my situation.
“You’re a traitor,” the boy who has me pinned says, tightening his grip on my throat.
I realize now that he’s the same one I knocked down when the fight first began, and I have no doubt that he’s mad about that.
He continues to squeeze my throat tighter and I let out a strangled cough, desperately trying to pull his vice of a hand away.
The edges of my vision start to go black and I can feel the strength leaving my arms. It’s not long before I can barely see anything at all beyond a marbled version of the colors in the room.
Then I’m falling and then I’m gasping and then I’m coughing.
A coolness envelops my cheek and I soon realize it’s the hard wood floor beneath me.
I continue to cough, dragging in rough gasps of air in between. I manage to regain my sight and push myself to a seated position.
Looking around, I see Demetri down the hall smashing a vase over the head of the same guy he was fighting earlier.
Hawk towers nearby and he quickly starts rushing towards me.
Instinct forces me to throw up my hands in defense. Bracing and leaning back against the wall with a raspy “Please.”
“Are you alright?” I hear Hawk say.
I risk a glance over and see him drop down to his knees in front of me.
“I’m so sorry,” he says. “Are you okay?”
I lower my hands, still eyeing him warily. Over his shoulder I can see the beaten form of the boy who just tried to choke me to death.
Hawk reaches forward, his hand pushing my hair back, his fingers brushing the side of my neck and forcing me to flinch.
“Sorry.” Hawk pulls his hand away, but his gaze stays locked on me.
I put together what must have happened. Hawk just saved my life.
“Why’d you change your mind?” I ask, my throat aching at the effort to talk.
Hawk frowns. “I just, I saw him hurting you and I couldn’t just not do anything.” Hawk looks down. “That sounds so stupid, considering I just tried to fight you. I guess… watching him almost kill you made me come to my senses.”
I smile, a little. “I’m glad you did.”
Hawk smiles back. “Are you sure you’re okay?” he asks.
I nod, reaching out to grab his hand. “I’ve never been better.”
a/n: sorry this is so shitty i’ve just been so bored today and this is what came to mind
