I suspect that Elias isn't actually falling out of the building. Hear me out.

If he's been thrown out a window from higher than like the fourth floor, the ONLY "good ending" possible is for the player characters to get him to a good place mentally before he dies, taking all the PCs with him. He only survives this if there's already something there to catch him OR if the thing in his pocket is like, a grappling hook.

So that's a bummer and it makes the campaign feel futile. I don't think it's happening.

I think Elias has been psychometered. Someone is making him BELIEVE he's been thrown out a window and is falling to his death. The broken control panel is the manifestation of the psychometer breaking into his brain. I'm not sure why they would do this but I have a couple ideas including torture, or D.A. Bition forcing Elias to volunteer as a guinea pig.

I do not believe that this season is gonna end with a depressed workaholic hitting the pavement. I think the PCs are gonna get control of the brain back where it belongs and Elias is gonna wake up in a test chamber somewhere, with a chance to live the life he really wants.

There's currently a massive heatwave in England, so naturally here's what I think the characters from TMA would be doing in this insane heat:

Jon: In his office, cursing the fact that the building doesn't have air conditioning. Yes, it would be nicer to be ANYWHERE but here, but alas, things have to be done.

Martin: Busy explaining to someone that hot drinks are WAY BETTER for hydration than cold drinks, and tea is absolutely the best drink during this weather. He's making tea for Jon. (Jon will not drink it.)

Tim: He's probably wandering round shirtless-he seems like one of those guys that for some reason believes it isn't a major health risk to walk down Oxford Street with that much exposed skin.

Sasha: With Tim, trying to convince him to put his shirt back on. Or at the very least WEAR SOME SUNCREAM!

Daisy: Enjoying the shade of Epping forest!

Basira: Doing paperwork outside on cheap, crappy garden furniture. It's really inconvenient but at least she's not stuck inside!

Melanie: Angry about something or other. Everyone is angry in this heat so she'd have no trouble picking a fight!

TW! Mention of predatory behavior, (former) Admin Bright.

The SCP fandom is an absolute shitshow right now with the Dr Bright/Admin Bright issue, and right when I was about to board the Dr Elias Shaw boat, now the person who came up with the idea is also a perverted fuck. There is no winning at the moment and I just feel really sad.

I loved the character of Dr Bright. Dr Bright was a little spark of humor in a serious organization, and also hit the dark side of immortality. Hearing that his creator is a horrible person made me sad. Then I hear there’s an alternative. Yay! We can develop this character with the base idea of the original! But nope!

I’m not trying to act like people are overreacting. I only just learned about this a few hours ago. Predatory behavior and abuse of power for sexual favors is disgusting. I wouldn’t wish such behavior upon anyone. (P.S. watch Dr Cimmerian’s videos on the situation. Other than his hesitance to go into much description, I think he did a good job being reasonable and level headed, talking about the situation as a former admin himself. Considering the subject matter, it’s not too surprising that he doesn’t quite know how to go about explaining everything.)

But I just don’t fuckin know what to do anymore. We’re in a lose-lose situation and no one wants to talk or agree on a course of action. They only want to condemn and be angry. I don’t know what to think anymore. Especially knowing that there’s nothing I can do about it.

I know I haven’t posted much in regards to the SCP Foundation, but I believe the best course of action (for myself) is to leave. At least, partially leave. The skips themselves I’ll interact with. Nothing else.

TLDR- I don’t know how to feel anymore about the SCP foundation, and I’m limiting my interactions with it for an undetermined amount of time.

It's been a hectic couple of days but I FINALLY have this one done!! For JE week day 2, up too late/vampires, which is definitely today and not two days ago and I will not hear a word otherwise.

I'm a sucker for both pre-S1 Jonelias and Jonjonah so I couldn't resist adding them both.

This is intended to be semi-chronological (time travel nonwithstanding)? with pre-S1/S1 Jon on the left with S4-S5 Jon on the right, but you could read them as separate AUs. I enjoy Jonjonah with time-travel shenanigans where full Archivist Jon meets Jonah, who is waaaay too invested in flirting with eyeball monsters in Jon's personal opinion.

Can't decide if it would be better for the Beholding to improve Jon' better's vision or if it's still terrible but there is no conceivable glasses design that would not be massively annoying for them (just a constant mesh of glasses frames over their field of vision. I honestly think I'd go insane). Either way they glow slightly naturally but are glowing even more to help them see the document (and also because I think green light effects are cool; sue me).

Also went with the Scottish Wildcat for Jonah's fursona! Some artistic license was taken on the design, but most of it isn't very visible.

The villains were all so right about JM. And the show had one job, either disprove the claims by having genuine relationship growth and having JM overcoming actual challenges together in a way that SHOWS that yes, these two are in love and compatible, or prove the claims right with all the consequences. But nope, neither happened, we were just supposed to accept they love each other genuinely and deeply in ways that defy eldritch fears. I'll be forever frustrated about it.
