BALANCE THE PARTY
social justice barbarian Never met a nazi they wouldn't punch. Never met a cop they wouldn't call a nazi. Treats the soft animal of their body like a lance to the heart of a tyrant. Their anger is a gift from God– it transubstantiates.
social justice necromancer Reads her history. Says their names. Goes through cemeteries leaving flowers, grave-borrowing tactics. Coaxes the spirits from their beds to let them dance; we realize we have always been beautiful.
social justice rogue Unplucks the landlord's tapestries at night. She covers her face, she code-names, wipes the prints from her hand after shaking. She's a lot. A blade in the dark that daylight can't soften. She hums a mantra called mission; it's all the warning you'll get.
social justice bard Makes his sincerity a lute and plucks fingers raw upon it. Has brass knuckles on the inside of his throat. Knows what to say to soothe the scared guy sleeping rough, to make the officer laugh instead of shove.
social justice druid Gives you grace and space to grow. Makes a weird balm to calm your hurts. Turns into a panther once a day dispensing courage; turns into a dove once a day dispensing peace. Serves the world from the half-empty vessel in their heart.
social justice warlock Sold her soul to do DEI for a Fortune 500 company. Walks each day through thicketed razors, carving footholds in a hill of glass. The job takes its pint of blood so slowly, it is possible to believe she doesn't feel it.
social justice paladin Always knows the words. Is afraid of what will happen if they forget them. It's not an excuse, but it is sandpaper, truths nailed into the shoebeds. They're implacable from the outside. They can't believe I would love them without their fury.
social justice cleric The people tell her, "Your mouth ruined our movement. You suffer in silence all the time–what's one more?" She believes in a love whose demands cut friends and enemies alike. She cleanses, sad surgeon. She is martyred twice. From the ground where her tears fall, a perfect flower grows.
social justice warforged Has a fuckin' truck!!! He rolls up to mutual aid and the people rejoice at his truck. He is become a mover of things, a Christ-bearer: mattresses and gasoline, the girl who needs a ride across the state. She says bless you, bless your truck, and his heart swells. He never knew he could be so needed.
social justice giant crab Strength +1. Intelligence -5. She is a crab. She has 13 hit points and claws for hands– but she can breathe water and air. She knows what the surface looks like from underneath. She carries wisdom in her crab body that the arc of the universe will always bend to rediscover. Don't you get it? That we all have gifts to give?

My Thought on Gargoyles Issue 11 and Issue 12
Again sorry if it's a bit messy and if i've missed things out.
Spoilers
Issue 11 Young at Heart
Great issue, Gnash is the narrator.
Antoinette Dracon tells the Gargoyles they need to save the kids because her uncle will kill them.
Elisa is scalded by Chavez for keeping the Gargoyles a secret and she's not happy with Matt too as he knew about the Gargoyles too but he has a solution.
Renard sadly passes away but before that he announces that Fox get's 48% of the company, Alex get's 48% of the company and Goliath gets 2% of the company which is why Renard wanted Goliath to get captured and have a hearing so he gets the same rights as humans. It's still pretty hilarious though that Goliath has his own money though. I wonder if something happens to Goliath then does that 2% of Cyberbiotics get passed on to Angela.
The Trio fight Dino Dracon and they still wearing the Gargoyle masks, some of the henchman are wearing exo - suits, the same ones Demona wore In The Reckoning.
Issue 12 Cold Comfort
Great issue and a shocking moment at the end.
Not surprisingly Coldstone is the narrator but it seemed like it he was talking to someone else.
All the Gargoyles are reunited, The Trio and Gnash return from the fight with Dino Dracon and Goliath returns from witnessing the death of Renard.
Dino Dracon still wants to disrupt things, he plans a frame job by leaving bombs at each police station and blame it on the other gangs. He's even been in contact with Castaway to get rid of the Gargoyles. He even tells his Niece not to go to the summit.
Brooklyn and Katana ask Lex, Broadway and Angels if they could become rookery parents to there egg when she hatches and they accept.
Angela and Broadway also ask Katana and Elisa and Brooklyn and Lex if they could become there seconds at there mating ceremony, which they accept.
As I suspected Elisa was punished, so she is suspended for 4 months without pay.
Antoinette visits the Gargoyles again and tells them about Dino's plans. The gargoyles do get rid of the bombs.
At the summit and the gang family's appear. Dino has left a bomb in the chandelier, so he even wanted to take out his Father and Pal Joey so that's why he didn't want Antoinette there.
Coldstone destroys the bomb. Dino admits to killing his brother. Dominic ends up taking him out but I seriously doubt he's dead. I bet he will appear again.
So Coldstone tries to talk to Goliath but there always a distraction and now Goliath has joined the Gargoyles Taskforce and has his own badge number, nice Easter egg there.
Then we realise who Coldstone has been talking to this whole time and it's Demona, so now he's a traitor and probably will regret it later. and what will Coldfire do when she finds out, I really like Coldfire, so I do feel sorry for her.
Also another surprise, is that Antoinette is working for Demona and Demona has control of the New York Gangs now. So how did cross paths?
So what does Aim True My NYC mean, probably something to do with Demona in the Quest series, maybe a spell or something.
Can't wait for the Quest series.

The way the days are blending together right now is not helping me remember to post regularly.  I really do have a poem for every day of April, honest!
We left off with the importance of the name you give yourself.  La Sirena y el Pescador, by Elisa Chavez, looks at the power taken by those who claim to speak for you, particularly when you cannot speak directly for yourself.
Not all differences in translation are that problematic though.  Matsuo Basho's Frog Haiku has many different translations into English because parts of it do not have equivalent words.  The various translators use different methods to evoke the tone and "feel" of the original poem.
That leads us to the ultimate in poetry style disputes: Haiku vs. Limericks!  (Don't worry, we'll get to sonnets later in the month.)

Revenge - Elisa Chavez
Since you mention it, I think I will start that race war.
I could’ve swung either way? But now I’m definitely spending the next 4 years converting your daughters to lesbianism; I’m gonna eat all your guns. Swallow them lock stock and barrel and spit bullet casings onto the dinner table;
I’ll give birth to an army of mixed-race babies. With fathers from every continent and genders to outnumber the stars, my legion of multiracial babies will be intersectional as fuck and your swastikas will not be enough to save you,
because real talk, you didn’t stop the future from coming. You just delayed our coronation. We have the same deviant haircuts we had yesterday; we are still getting gay-married like nobody’s business because it’s still nobody’s business; there’s a Muslim kid in Kansas who has already written the schematic for the robot that will steal your job in manufacturing, and that robot? Will also be gay, so get used to it:
we didn’t manifest the mountain by speaking its name, the buildings here are not on your side just because you make them spray-painted accomplices. These walls do not have genders and they all think you suck. Even the earth found common cause with us the way you trample us both,
oh yeah: there will be signs, and rainbow-colored drum circles, and folks arguing ideology until even I want to punch them but I won’t, because they’re my family, in that blood-of-the-covenant sense. If you’ve never loved someone like that you cannot outwaltz us, we have all the good dancers anyway.
I’ll confess I don’t know if I’m alive right now; I haven’t heard my heart beat in days, I keep holding my breath for the moment the plane goes down and I have to save enough oxygen to get my friends through.
But I finally found the argument against suicide and it’s us. We’re the effigies that haunt America’s nights harder the longer they spend burning us, we are scaring the shit out of people by spreading, by refusing to die: what are we but a fire? We know everything we do is so the kids after us will be able to follow something towards safety; what can I call us but lighthouse,
of course I’m terrified. Of course I’m a shroud. And of course it’s not fair but rest assured, anxious America, you brought your fists to a glitter fight. This is a taco truck rally and all you have is cole slaw. You cannot deport our minds; we won’t hold funerals for our potential. We have always been what makes America great.

SMASH THE MUSEUM, I NEED OXYGEN Elisa Chavez
exhibit 1.  My dad texts:  IS CRIME REALLY UP IN SEATTLE?  I send him a picture of the garden at Cal Anderson's heart. Black Lives Memorial. NO, I say. It felt like proof to me. Diversifying  in the face of scarcity. Transubstantiating the earth into wafers.
exhibit 2. The oregon grape, qʷəbqʷəbčac  (qweb-qweb-chadth),  mahonia aquifolium, is "beloved by hummingbirds and bees."  I bring coffee to tired throats,  I bring post-it notes and pens; call me pollinator. Black and gold, buzzing corona.  Feathered shoulders. Busy, busy.
exhibit 3.  Commenting Seattle says, Get rid of that weed patch, then the road mural on Pine. It's eating up the space we need for cars. Spare me your tree museum.  Your noblesse oblige, your death printed in triplicate. This feels like the right time to say  that I personally don't get the Mona Lisa. Kids' art I understand: color anarchy,  eyes wilding like coals in construction paper. Words I understand. I always stop for messages on telephone poles and building corners: "Wanted: the squirrel who stole my bagel"; "when I helped build this place  a worker fell down the elevator shaft and died." The Venus de Milo, I understand: armless, beautiful. Found in a farmer's field, where his habits of sowing and upturning resurrected the goddess from the earth. This is to say that not all beauty will make itself obvious to you.
exhibit 4. I watch my best friend pick blackberries straight from the bush by I-5. She swallows, no fear. I'm too scared to eat without permission, but I've thought of smoke and the tart juice ever since.  I read blackberries grow especially well  on the sites of old house fires.  I hope if I have to, I'll do the same.
exhibit 5. In the garden, we hors d'oeuvre  like it's a birthday party. We sing, we town hall, we fucking juggle. A man falls; like bees, we shift to give him space.  Like bees, the gardeners tend. Someone says, "I have narcan" and they get him back to blooming. Straggling, maybe. Pretty, maybe not. But alive.
exhibit 6. Ms. Lyles, this one's for you. For your children, who I pray will learn the story of a city that did better. Grief is a seed. It waits through winter, sprouts between the ribs like sidewalk cracks and puts reminders in your lungs. It's okay to breathe your grief. It's okay to speak it. Our grief is a story committed to dirt. We just hope something good will grow.
Hey friends, if you're in the Seattle area, please consider lending your voice to saving the Black Lives Memorial Garden! There is so much you can do that would be helpful to preserving this vital space: filling out a community survey, donating, asking local orgs and businesses you frequent to sign the letter of support. And more, probably!
Please share this poem/post/the linked resources with Seattle buddies, and remember to support your local gardeners. Okay I luh you buh-bye!

My Thoughts on Gargoyles Issue 10: New Rules
Great issue, lots to talk about.
"Aim True My N" I wonder what it could be and I bet it will continue in Gargoyles: Quest issues.
Spoilers
Katana is narrating, which is awesome, we find out a little backstory from her. The Japanese Gargoyles have a Naming Ceremony and that's how Katana got her name.
There's another little snippet of the Time Dancer Journey, which looks like the Three Musketeers.
Oh my gosh!!!!! I did not expect Elisa to reveal to the country and even to the world, that she's in love with Goliath. Even Brooklyn couldn't believe it. I thought maybe it could be too soon but I trust Greg.
Margot Yale is now cross examine Elisa and literally hanging her out to dry that she kept them a secret from everyone, Got the Gargoyles to help with cases and even joining the GTF but what Margot doesn't know is that Matt also knows the Gargoyles.
I expect Elisa will have to reveal everything to Chavez, like the World Tour, how she really got shot, Derick becoming a mutate and that her Family also knows the Gargoyles too. I wonder if Maria will meet the Clan soon.
As I said Elisa's career could be in Jeopardy but in the Halloween issue she's still got her Job. I expect Matt will reveal that he knows the Gargoyles too, so Matt's career could be in more jeopardy as well, because he's kept the Gargoyles a secret too and he's head of the GTF, so he could be in a lot of trouble and he and Elisa could be punished but he takes the brunt of it and he's forced to step down as head of GTF, and probably gets suspended, that's why we didn't see him with the GTF in the Halloween issue.
Lol Xanatos and Fox sitting up in bed together watching the hearing, that was unexpected.
Wow Titania appears, that was a surprise, another character we haven't seen since 1996.
Love the full page spread of everyone watching, The Clan, Elisa's family, The Labyrinth Clan, Demons ect.
Great to see Beth Maza again, who we also haven't seen since 1996. Wonder when we will see Puck or the Avalon clan again.
Lol Talon looks like he's about to explode, probably got very angry after hearing Elisa telling everyone she in love with Goliath. Knowing Talon he probably blame it on Xanatos, lol.
So Judge Roebling rules in favour of Goliath and he is free, would loved to have seen Margot Yale's expression.
The Clan is happy, we got the return of that big word, Gnash shouts out Jalapeña (was hoping Angela would say it before Gnash, oh well maybe next time).
Aww, Broadway got his wings round Angela.
Lol at some of the stupid questions the reporters were asking Goliath. "Goliath can you turn to stone for us now" Lol
I wonder if this outcome could get other clans to reveal themselves now, possibly the London Clan and The Ishimura Clan.
Ok I had a feeling Judge Roebling would rule in favour of Goliath and he could get a lot of heat for it but also it could cost him his job as he knows Goliath and kept the Gargoyles a secret too. but then it turns out he's fully corrupt, I did not expect that, he actually took a bribe from Xanatos to rule in Goliaths favour, he seemed like a nice person. I wouldn't be surprised he was the Judge in Xanatos trial and accepted a bribe to give Xanatos a lesser sentence. I also wouldn't be surprised if he's a member of the Illuminati.
I had feeling Renard is going to die, could tell from previous issue his health was deteriorating. I assume that was Anastasia, sitting on the bed, she looks different.
Can't wait for next issue, possibly Angela and Broadway's commitment ceremony, 'squeals' but it probably end up happening in issue 12.
