Y'ALL, we got so much teased in this trailer! We got castle-y vibes, monsters, technical puzzles, stolen gems, and also alchemy! This all looks so good! The characters look cool {and from the looks of things, we'll be interacting with quite a few of them!}, the rooms and places all look very interesting/visually appealing, and it looks very well animated; there was even one spot that I swear Elka's necklace gleamed as Nancy moved around.

Plus a room that looks kinda like a blacksmith room? A suspect list like in Alibi in Ashes? Plus it's part of the notebook; yay, notebook! AND the achievements tab, like the trophies tab in the pause menus before?

OOOOHH, confrontations?! Looks like the cozy coffee shop might have some exciting scenes?

Some of these images give me a Treasure in the Royal Tower/The Captive Curse vibes, :o.

Also, I have only heard/seen, like, ten seconds worth of Elka, but I already love her; she seems really cool, and if she somehow ends up being the end culprit {though she didn't seem to be in the suspect tab}, I'll be really sad, lol!

I'm excited! And the release date is so close; May 7th! I'll be buying this game right as soon as I can, although has anyone ever heard if there's a pre-order option for KEY?

Thylacine by Elka. Can you believe that after me first hyperfixating on thylacines in 2014 I only now managed to get a plushie of one, in the year of our Lord 2022? Amazing.

This is a super simple yet also cute thylacine plush made partially of recycled materials. I also love how it doesn't just look like a striped canine plush with a long tail, they actually really went out to make it look like a thylacine. It has the very long and narrow face and even the (heavily simplified) hind legs look slightly more thylacine-y anatomy-wise than canine-y.

This plush doesn't have a name yet as I'm waiting for the perfect one to come to me (open to suggestions for any gender names), nor do they have a gender at the moment. They were given to me by my parents for Sinterklaas 2022.

There's more thylacine plushies out there in the world I'd love to own, but they're usually rather hard to get for me here, or they are easier to get but the shipping costs (usually from Australia for obvious reasons) are through the roof. Ah well, for now I'm super happy I have this one! They're super adorable.

3: I want to leave this country

When I was first summoned, three soldiers were assigned to follow me, to make sure I didn't die while I was still a noob. Elka was one of them.

At the time, my magical potential was high, but my abilities were still weak. I often trained with Elka.

I lost a lot at first, winning very few battles. But as I gradually learned how to make use of my potential, I started winning every battle.

It was somewhere around then when Elka realized she was a pervert. I think it was the moment I kicked her, when she felt a rush of pleasure. Since then, she's been unreliable for training, and I'd started training with my other two.

When suddenly, Elka asked me to be her slave.

She had awakened as a true masochist, and was crying and begging to be "under" me no matter what. Absorbed within her energy, I agreed... and as she requested, I began to hurt her. It was only a matter of time before I started enjoying it.

"Well, that's enough reminiscing for you. Elka, there's something I'd like to ask you."

"Yes! Whatever is that you need?" Elka gushed from underneath me. (As punishment, she was serving as my chair as I questioned her.)

"What happened five years ago? The war that ended then is still going on?" I asked her.

The princess hadn't said the cause of the war, just that the Humans were being attacked by the Beasts (also known as Furries) and Demons.

I had my suspicions. I didn't think those guys would launch an attack. And, war was such a hassle. I didn't want to let it happen again. At least not without my orders...

"It's... this country that is the fault."

"This country? Destinia is the cause?"

"Yes... it's true that the war ended five years ago, but Destinia was afraid of Setsu-sama's power and popularity, so the Destinia royalty forced you back into your original world."

"Ah, tch... I get it. The two of them found out about that and attacked in retaliation, didn't they."

"There was no way people who adore you would forgive your banishment."

The story was finally coming together.

"Dah, so it's my fault."

Elka's shoulders dipped in agreement. "Those people love Setsu-master so deeply..."

There's something so annoying about hearing it like that. Still...

"Another war... that's so troublesome."

"Hey... Setsu-master..." came Elka's voice.

I started thinking out loud. "It's been five years... I've not been a part of this world for five years. It's moved on. I'm not really a part of this world now. Really, it's up to me how I should spend my time... haha... well... I guess I'll go out with you for a bit, Elka."

"Huh? Are you going to fight in the war with me?"

"Ah, that's not it."

"Oh, uh, alright then?" Elka sounded confused.

Participating in the war would be annoying... also I didn't really know what being a war officer was, so I didn't want to do it.

There's only thing I have to do.

I told Elka, "For now, I'll just go and check on the Beasts and Demons. I was originally planning on going. If they're feeling nice, the war might even end."

"Oh, I guess that's true..."

"Yeah? I thought they'd chill out if they found out the great Setsu was in their world again."

"They might 'chill out'..." Elka says, "but as it is, the humans won't stop, as they're planning to conquer and take the demons' and furries' lands."

"Huh? That means..."

"Yes. We're going to 'win' the war."

But wasn't it a defensive war? It's getting complicated again.

"In other words, the purpose of the hero summoned this time..."

"Yes, the hero was summoned in order to win the war, to attack the enemy country."

"As a 'loyal citizen of the human nation', we wanted to gain territory in the last war, but if this war is over, we might start another one for 'punishment'."

"It's fine if they attacked us first, is that it."

"That seems to be so."

So the humans were using me till the very end.

"We, as your companions, were thinking of a way to stop them. Our best idea was to return you to Eclair."

"You stayed in the human kingdom and were aiming to summon me again, is that it?"

"Yes... it ended up like this. But I'm glad. If we were to use kids from an unknown world in a war, it would likely have caused a rebellion." Elka says this with a smile, the kind you see when you aren't lying. Elka, did you seriously intend to start a rebellion?

"This country will never learn. After causing so much trouble for Setsu-master, even though we asked him to end the war, he's trying to do the same thing again.

"Ah, this country's still as stupid as ever. Well, now my thoughts are in order, at least."

I stand up from Elka.

"How long are you are you going to stay there on all fours?" I ask her. "I want to leave this country."

"...Yes, I thought you'd say that," Elka says, as she stands up. She just about read my thoughts.

"I thought I could just travel freely without worrying about the war, but when there's a war, everything just gets way too noisy. I don't like it. I'll meet those who banished me and punish them for starting another war, and they'll calm down. Hey, why are you laughing?"

"Hehe... that seems like it."

"What are you laughing at? Hey!"

"No... even though he looks different, his kind side is still Setsu."

"What?"

"We're stopping the war for the sake of those summoned with us, your, er, 'classmates', right?"

Well, a part of me doesn't want to put Yuuhi in danger, but I'm not so sure the others...

"Well, that's fine."

"How do you plan on leaving the country, Setsu? I don't think the humans will let go of the heroes that easily..."

"Oh, that's easy. All I need to do is look useless enough, and they'll kick me out of the castle in no time."

"I see... but... it's painful for me to see you considered useless."

Setsu lowered his head and said in an oddly disgusted voice, "I'm glad she thinks so... You talked a lot of shit about me just now, didn't you?"

"Huh?"

I'll never forget what this guy said before I revealed my true identity. As I was sadistically beating her, she started to get excited even as she was apologizing, so I stopped. Yes, she was a true Masochist.

"...Well, that's fine. Well, I want you to somehow interfere with the thoughts of the princess and king and get them to kick me out."

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... mrrr... haa? Does it have to be me? I can't believe I have to say something that'll get you introuble..."

"If you can get rid of me properly, I'll give you 100 spanks."

"I understand! Elka understands! I'll do my best to fulfill my role as Setsu-sama's dog!"

...

"Setsu, would you like to meet the other two companions?"

"Hm... Ah, that's right." My other two adventuring companions were in this country. I wanted to meet them.

"Where are they?"

"Grain is raising the other set of heroes." Oh, maybe that's where Yuuhi and Kouma's crew ended up. "Tia should be at the castle's magic lab. She's supposed to be the leader now."

“Those two sure are moving up in the world."

"Ah, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..."

"I don't know. You don't like it either, do you?"

I've been punched, kicked, and abused... well, I made that happen on purpose.

"N-not at all, not even a little..."

"I wonder if I should spank you a little..."

I think of two faces upsetting in their situation, and I realize I'm having a lot of fun.

It was at this moment that I realized that I was actually enjoying my second time in this other world.
