So Frozen 2. The first movie is about self-acceptance. This movie is about self-discovery. Elsa feels that while everything is going good for her at the moment in her Kingdom of Arendelle that she’s not where she belongs - not who or where she’s meant to be. Elsa accidentally awakens the four spirits (Air, Fire, Water and Earth) of the enchanted forest when she hears a voice calling to her and she listens to it. Anyway, they get called out to the enchanted forest by Gale (spirit of Air) to put things right in the past between their Kingdom and the indigenous tribe of Northuldra and Elsa learns her true nature. We eventually find out that she’s hearing the voice because she is the fifth spirit and the voice that’s calling her is her from the future.
The truth was calling out to her because longtime lies from their past needed to be uncovered. Longtime lies that have segregated an entire community of people that were meant to be together. They were meant for their lives to be intertwined as Anna and Elsa’s mother was Northuldran and their father was Arendellian.
So it’s all about finding the right “path” or “way” which is always a compelling story to tell in fiction. And of course, it’s not just Elsa that discovers who she truly is and what she’s meant to be doing with her life. Anna becomes Queen of Arendelle and marries Kristoff while Elsa remains in the enchanted forest with the other spirits as the bridge between the magic of nature and humanity as well as a protector of it.
And it’s just as emotionally powerful as the first movie if not more for the reason that - once again - these are dark concepts to be exploring in a children’s franchise but ultimately they relate to and resonate with many diverse audiences who struggle with understanding who they are and their purpose in life just like them.
I always say that it’s worth it to go a little bit darker as long as you know how to use nuance and metaphor to tell a story in a number of different ways so that it can be accessible and beneficial for all ages and genders.

Anakin truly set out the goal to marry Padmé as soon as he first laid his eyes on her. He didn't even interact with her that much to come to the conclusion that he wanted to wed her. As soon as they met again 10 years later, he wasted no time and put a ring on that finger. They didn't even take at least a month; they went straight to marriage. Their romance is essentially a Disney fairytale 😅❤

Pt. 3 of who knows how many! Let’s over analyze Frozen 2 in honor of Frozen 3 being in production!
Alrighty, this one gets into my girl Elsa. Before I get started, please know that I love this character to death and see a lot of myself in her (the anxiety, not the magic) and I just think that, concerning storytelling, the second Frozen movie made some poor creative choices. Let’s get into it.
Let’s review, shall we? First film establishes that Elsa is isolated from her family and from people in general. She runs away when her super secret magic is accidentally revealed, sings a song about letting everything go and embracing that part of herself, does a bunch of stuff and, eventually, is reunited with her sister and they finally get the chance to catch up and make up for lost time. Great! Her arc is complete, she’s established and loved by her people and her family, which now consists of a sentient snowman, a reindeer, and her sister’s fiancé. Nice! Found family!
By this point, Elsa’s story doesn’t need anything, with the very minor point of her magic’s origin, but that’s hardly consequential because her magic isn’t going anywhere so it doesn’t matter. She’s got it now, so there’s nothing to be done.
The opening of Frozen 2 sets up the story similarly to the first film. Elsa is feeling isolated, but not in the same sense. She has responsibilities and family, but she feels like she’s missing out. Then the Voice thing happens and the story kicks off.
It’s dumb. It tries to undo all the progress Elsa made in the previous movie and in trying to make Elsa the focal character, they just rehash everything. Or try to. They make it worse this time.
Because at this point, Elsa has had her little family for three years and they should be growing closer and less inclined to want to go off. Elsa has love and purpose and, by all accounts from the first film, should be in a good spot.
Instead, in order to achieve the same success musically, they need the longing song and the other song that idina menzel sings because let’s be honest, that woman is amazing.
My issues with how Frozen 2 deals with Elsa mainly lie with how they present her once she’s been establish her as The Fifth Spirit. They elevate her to goddess status and remove her from her family, something that she hasn’t really had for more than half her life. And then, what? She moves in with a tribe and visits every now and again for family game night? What? What happened to the importance of family?
Also, what makes her the fifth spirit? She never even comes in contact with the earth spirit(s?) or “tames” them i don’t think. All the other spirits are distinctly not human and though they might have above average intelligence there’s certainly an imbalance because, y’know, Elsa’s human. And it’s pretty much implied that the spirits are eternal and ethereal. Not exactly something you see in a human who was born and struggles with mental health. She’s not a spirit! I got such a weird vibe off her in the end.
HOWEVER Elsa is a dynamite character and honestly I don’t blame them for wanting to put her in the spotlight. But what should they have done instead?
WHAT THE TRAILER ACTUALLY HINTED AT
There’s a line in the trailer that never gets said in the film and i’m pissed about it because it could’ve worked concerning the story and Elsa’s character and here it is:
“Magic can be very alluring.”
(or something like that)
Wouldn’t it make sense for Elsa, having finally learned to embrace her powers, to go the other direction and obsess over them? Wouldn’t that be interesting to watch? Wouldn’t it be cool to see Elsa do dangerous things with her magic, pushing herself to the edge of what would be considered sane or normal which then would lead to a search for the origins of her magic and in turn, more info on Trolls, magic, Kristoff, etc. Elsa, who has learned to love and be loved, might not initially listen to her family’s concerns, but maybe eventually she’ll cave because she doesn’t want them to worry and that works much better at showing how far she’s come over the past three years instead of putting her at square one yet again and then having her find something that traumatizes her yet again (so she can blame herself for her parents death and then “process” it by ditching her sister. Bleh what the heck)
Not only would it satisfy the story and kick it off in a great way, it would be very visually appealing and they could even do a whole sequence with a song and truly be the musical successor to “Let it go” It could even lead into her powers growing so strong and her skill with said strength growing so much but the end of that arc that it could lead into a third movie very easily because, I don’t know about you, but if one of my neighboring kingdoms had a queen with an insane amount of magic, I would either declare war out to protest her position or try to build an alliance and having that kind of storyline could still (eventually) lead to Anna becoming queen of Arendelle Elsa finding her place somewhere else or really just enjoying being by her sister’s side as advisor or general or something.
anyway, frozen 2 seems like it backtracks and almost retcons some of Elsa’s development so they can land her somewhere else and make her even more Special than the super-powered, musically inclined Queen she already was.

Helloooooo! This OC prompt will take some time (maybe) so no rush! Take your time! Take your OC to CAS and give them a look that's VERY out of character for them. Something they would NEVER wear but would look decent on somebody else. Have fun, sul sul!
Thank you so much for the ask, Elsa! This ask is the distraction I needed because I’m still afraid to open up my game. 😬 🤣
Tumblr media
Peri loves being a “granny,” but that doesn’t mean she wants to look like one. You’ll never catch her in anything like this. It’s not colorful enough, and it makes her look too matronly.
Tumblr media
Kai’s father, Craig, had no problem embracing the traditional Sulani style of dress. Although Kai was born in Sulani, he cannot imagine donning anything even close to this. (I think he looks good in it. He has the body to pull it off).
Tumblr media
Me-Me is not above wearing a nice crop top or even some very short shorts, but she still tends to lean towards a more conservative style of dress. Even a very sexy night out with Kai wouldn’t inspire her to go with something as revealing and flashy as this.
This was so much fun. Thanks again!

Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic Prime, Character Analysis - Part 5)
Tumblr media
Welcome to Part 5 of my Shadow and Sonic character analysis! This one will be covering the first half of Episode 17: Grim Tidings, being another Sonic and Shadow-centric episode that gives us a lot of content, with the occasional focus on Nine. The reason I'm only covering one half is because once again Tumblr won't allow me to post more than 30 images (or gifs), which is annoying because there is so much to point out.
So, let's dive in!
So, in the previous episode, we left off with Nine taking all of the Shards, with Shadow witnessing all of this and Sonic being left devastated.
Now, before I get into the episode proper, I wanted to talk about the fandom's ideas of what Shadow's reaction would be to Nine betraying Sonic. Many of them believed that Shadow would blame Sonic for trusting Nine and, in the worst case scenario, take his anger out on him. I will admit, while I had also though that Shadow would be frustrated with Sonic, my mind didn't go into him trying to punch the latter, but focus more on trying to find a way to fix this mess.
Now that I think back to it, I think we all misunderstood Prime!Shadow's character and the development he went through. I had just written several posts detailing Shadow's journey in Sonic Prime, gaining a better understanding of his character, and if there's one thing that became clear, he is not the same person now that he was at the start of the story, especially when it comes to his relationship with Sonic. This episode serves to drive the final nail in the coffin that Shadow has really changed as a character.
Tumblr media
''Any chance at bringing Green Hill back is gone. How could Nine betray us?'' ''It's destabilizing. Sonic, I told you Nine couldn't be trusted. Whatever he's up to, it's causing this world to fracture.'' ''I don't understand. Why would he-?'' ''Pull yourself together! This mountain is decaying and it's gonna take us with it. We have to run!''
After Nine goes full Elsa by creating a citadel in The Grim with the help of the Paradox Prism, Shadow is the first to realize that Ghost Hill is falling apart, while Sonic is still grieving the loss he just experienced. Now, pay close attention to how both of them act during this scene.
Sonic is clearly hurt over Nine's betrayal, not noticing what is going around him until Shadow tells him about Ghost Hill falling apart. Shadow, in turn, is very firm with Sonic, but he isn't angry at him nor does he yell at him. He does indeed point out to Sonic that he was right about not trusting Nine, but then focuses on getting Sonic to escape the fracturing Ghost Hill, grabbing him by the hand and dragging him out of the cave.
What needs to be pointed out that Shadow never blames Sonic for Nine's betrayal, aside the factual statement above, focusing instead on keeping Sonic safe as they try to escape Ghost Hill.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
''Jump!'' *leaps off the decaying mountain, looks back* ''We have to leave this world.'' ''You don't have to tell me twice.''
Note how both Sonic and Shadow notice the mountain falling apart, but it is Shadow that grabs Sonic and tosses him off of it, clearly fearing that Sonic wouldn't be fast enough to get away.
As they land, Shadow turns to Sonic, clearly to check on him, who then gives him a thumbs up and they look back at what the mountain fracturing, before Sonic, now very serious, agrees with Shadow that they need to leave.
Something very noticeable about this episode is Sonic's subtle change in character. He becomes more serious, even briefly surprising Shadow, who over the course of the episode shows a trait that we haven't seen much from him in the mainstream media - his protective side.
Tumblr media
During their escape from Ghost Hill, Shadow takes on the role of the leader, pointing out how they need to gain speed to get out and to get to higher ground and we see him and Sonic working together to get out. He helps Sonic to get to higher ground, telling him to go faster.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, they get knocked back by the shattering crystals, with Sonic spotting the Ghost Variants of his friends, approaching them. He is clearly grief-stricken, still wanting to find a way to save his friends.
Now, observe how Shadow acts during this scene.
Tumblr media
''I thought we went over this. They're not real.'' ''Maybe I can save them. I have to try.''
As Sonic observes the Ghost Variants of his friends in grief, Shadow approaches him, reminding him that they're not real, while Sonic insists on trying to save them. Shadow's voice has no harshness in it, but in fact, he sounds quite gentle, even reaching out for Sonic to comfort him, only to pull his hand back when Sonic turns to him.
Shadow here doesn't just show his protective side, but is also willing to comfort Sonic, clearly understanding the loss and grief the blue hedgehog is going through. As a matter of fact, if any character understands how it feels to lose something important, it's Shadow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
''No! They can't be saved. Think about your real friends, the ones who still have a chance. If you wanna help them, we need to get out of here.''
Take note of how just animated Shadow is (animated as in alert). He stops Sonic in his tracks, reminding Sonic that they cannot be saved and reminding him that he still has friends that need his help, which I assume to be the Shatterverse Variants. He is very firm with Sonic, who tries to look past him at the Ghost Variants, only for Shadow to keep Sonic's attention on him.
I think that this is a good moment to say that Shadow may have feared that Sonic would give into his grief. They are in real danger and they need to get going and he doesn't want Sonic to stay at Ghost Hill any longer than they have to, fearing that he would lose Sonic as well. Shadow doesn't even try to leave on his own, making sure that Sonic comes with him.
Notice that Sonic also gets, if not angry, then at least annoyed with Shadow for a moment, pushing him back as he approaches his friends. I'm certain that he understands Shadow's fears, but he still needs a moment to process his grief.
Tumblr media
''Tails... I'll see you again little buddy.'' *wipes off tears, turns to Shadow* ''Let's get outta here.''
This time, Shadow lets Sonic have his moment, having understood that Sonic needs this. Fortunately, Sonic knows that he needs to hurry up, so after saying his good-byes, he wipes his tears and tells Shadow that they should get out of this place. Honestly, it is quite heartbreaking, as this has hit Sonic really hard, and he is lucky that he has Shadow by his side.
Tumblr media
As they escape, we can literally see them working at sync, at times not even needing words to understand what the other wants or thinks, just a look and a nod and they're already on their next move, pinballing out into The Void as Ghost Hill shatters into nothing.
Tumblr media
When Ghost Hill literally exploded and they got hit by the debris, I actually thought Shadow was about to fall off that crystal, but fortunately, he manages to hang on and they climb up.
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, this shot of them is really cute.
Tumblr media
''Nine betrayed you and left us to die, and he will pay for it.''
Pay attention to Shadow's words here. Even though he brings up Nine's betrayal, he says ''Nine betrayed you''. He points out to Sonic that Nine betrayed him specifically, not blaming the blue hedgehog at all for what happened.
In fact, Shadow is ready to get his revenge on Nine, and I think it's not only because Nine left them to die and their world to decay, but because Nine hurt Sonic. I believe that this moment was Shadow's own way of comforting Sonic and showing his support for him, something Sonic quietly acknowledges.
Tumblr media
''Ghost Hill is gone! The Shards are gone!'' ''If knowing you has taught me anything, there is always another way.'' ''Wait, was that a compliment?'' *gives Sonic a 'Don't push it' look*
The little conversation we have here is genuinely heartwarming. Sonic is frustrated that both Ghost Hill and the Shards are gone, and then Shadow actually cheers him up by reminding him how there is always another way, something Sonic looks excited about, as Shadow basically gave him a compliment. Shadow, of course, shuts it down with a 'Don't push it' look.
Honestly, it is amazing to see how far they have come, with both Sonic and Shadow being comfortable enough in each other's presence to open up a little (Sonic showing grief for his friends and Shadow acknowledging Sonic's infinite optimism).
Shadow is essentially Sonic's rock here, as Sonic is still processing his loss and currently not in the right state of mind to focus on anything. He manages to cheer Sonic up, giving him hope that there is still a chance for their reality to be saved.
When Shadow points out how Nine is still out there, hiding in one of the Shatterspaces, Sonic suddenly remembers The Grim and the fifth Shard, before avoiding a floating crystal that causes him to fall over. Shadow is relieved to hear that, realizing that this is why Nine was unable to restore Ghost Hill.
Tumblr media
''Can you remember where the gateway is?'' ''Of course! Nine brought me there in a Shattercraft. It's, uh, this way! Wait, no, no, uh, right! It's totally this way! Com'n!''
Why did I decide to show you this scene? Pay attention to Shadow's body language when Sonic tries to remember where The Grim was, because it's kind of hilarious.
When Sonic thinks that The Grim is on one side, only to realize that he was mistaken, Shadow gives him that exasperated ''Sonic!'' look, and when Sonic finally remembers, Shadow just shakes his head, figuring this is just Sonic being Sonic, and probably also figuring that he needs to keep an eye on him. As I had said before, Sonic is still not in the right headspace, but he has to keep moving.
Tumblr media
''Watch out!'' ''Huh! Thanks buddy!'' ''Don't get used to it.''
Fortunately, he has Shadow, who looks out for him. Also, Shadow's response is kind of hilarious considering what follows next. I think that this is more of a case where Shadow has to be the one to get used to saving Sonic rather than vice versa.
Tumblr media
They eventually reach The Grim, with Shadow reminding Sonic that he cannot pass through, but Sonic points out how there is always another way, so they get inside through a rift in the gate. This also where I will end this Part of the analysis.
As we had seen here, Shadow finally shows his protective side, keeping Sonic safe and comforting him whenever possible. I may be repeating myself with this, but given how we haven't seen Shadow like this, I want to savor every single moment of it.
I think that it was a good idea to pair Sonic up with Shadow out of all people. Shadow can keep Sonic focused and he will oppose Sonic when necessary. However, he also shows deep respect for Sonic, and Sonic respects Shadow as well, with both having reached a deeper understanding of each other during their adventure.
Nevertheless, even if there are some changes to how they interact, their core personalities remain the same, but this time, they resonate with each other, their bond having grown stronger than ever.

FROZEN 3 and FROZEN 4 are both in development, and I can't wait!
The news sounded odd to me initially, I didn't expect anything like this from Disney Animation, but it became immediatly appealing the moment I realized the GREAT potential a double feature could have for the franchise, most importantly when Bob Iger specified “Jenn Lee, who created Frozen, the original Frozen, and Frozen 2 is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories.”, which would mean:
More time to enstablish new elements, new characters, time to explore new lore and new places without the risk to rush everything;
Tumblr media
A bigger story that can help flesh out our protagonists in their new roles, their new wants and changes they might face, considering how the F2 ending brought many new possibilities;
Tumblr media
A narrative context where the new crysis (whatever it might be) could be explored even better, also allowing to maintain things in a complex prespective just as the Frozen movies like to do, where the matter of "good and evil" not at the center, and things are first of all deeply personal for the characters
Tumblr media
It seems to me that Jennifer Lee always wanted to delve deeper into things, this is why the Broadway Musical was a perfect opportunity for her and the Lopez to expand the characters and flesh out things in the story, also adding new elements that would've been useful for F2.
And when they worked on Frozen 2, they built it as the "second part" of the story, reconnecting almost all the aspects of the sequel to the 1st movie, and the story was clearly meant to be BIGGER and longer compared to what we ended up having because of numerous issues and rewrites. J. Lee and C. Buck didn't want to introduce something that would feel just as "a new adventure", and more about the actual characters evolving, see what they left unresolved, breaking the "Happy ending" scenario of F1, which also led them to NOT give the new human characters (Mattias and the Northuldra) the same relevance given to Spirits of Nature, in order to remain focused on Elsa, Anna and the rest of the gang.
Tumblr media
Now, Lee will most likely not direct or write these two new movies, but she is still directly involved, because it's both part of her job as CCO of Walt Disney Animation Studio and because Frozen is her (and Chris Buck) baby. It will be curious to discover with what idea Marc Smith came out with, but the fact he worked on the 1st Frozen as a storyboard artist and the became Director of Story for Frozen 2 says a lot about him and why Lee trusts him so much, and I'm sure they will follow the approach used with the 2nd movie and carry it on with 3 and 4. Numerous sagas used the two-parter approach, like the books adaptations of Harry Potter, Twilight and Hunger Games series, or more "original cases" like Pirates of the Carribeans or what we are getting now with the animated Spiderverse movies (Across and Beyond). But I think the best similarity (and probably what led to this ambitious choice) is with Avengers Infinity War/Endgame, where the BIG FINALE gets developed in two movies.

I don’t mind that Anna becomes queen at the end and Elsa abdicates because if I’m being honest… we see more of Anna being a leader in both movies than we do with Elsa. I love Elsa, but her story was never about being queen, it was about being free.
What pisses me off is that once again, nobody asks what Anna wants. It’s just assumed she will take over because that’s what her sister wants, because everything in those two movies is about what Elsa wants.
And it’s kind of annoying how Anna had a whole arc in that movie about gaining her independence, but again, it’s all about adhering to a role. First her role was to protect her sister, now it’s to take over as queen.
And I think that’s what frustrates me about the way the story is written, is because there is no emotional build up to it. There is no reason for Anna to be queen other than duty.
It just sucks that Elsa gets to have freedom, even at the expense of her character development, but Anna is just stuck doing whatever Elsa wants her to do. Like… I just want Anna to go off in F3.

Frozen Through the Years
Yearly Spotlight: 2023
Written by @toriofthetrees
This year marked...
Frozen’s 10th Anniversary
It was wild.
Starting off with a bang, in February Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Frozen III was in development, later confirmed by Josh Gad. Idina Menzel and Jen Lee confirmed it in June, with Jen Lee going on to say that she would not be directing this installment of the franchise. However, she confirmed that she knew the person who was, she loved their story, and she trusted them completely.
Her enthusiasm did not go unnoticed.
On top of the 10th Anniversary for Frozen (November 27) this year also marked the 100th Anniversary for Disney Studios as a whole (October 16). To commemorate both, much of the activity peaked towards the last three month of the year.
The hashtag #Frozen10 was created to celebrate the anniversary.
On October 11, the Forces of Nature podcast was released over several installments. It was met with mixed reviews; some enjoyed it, some were more critical of it, and most agreed that while it was fun, it did not have the chops to be a major installment of the Frozen franchise.
On October 16, Disney released a short film called Once Upon a Studio to commemorate their centennial celebration. It aired on ABC and showed the hustle and bustle of Disney Studios as everyone (all of our favorite characters) prepared for the big celebration! Elsa, Anna, Kristoff (and technically Hans) were among the many classic Disney characters that appeared!
Two novels were released this year. The first book was the first installment in the Disney Legends trilogy entitled Fixer Upper, written by Jen Calonita. It tells the story of Kristoff’s childhood and life before he met Anna in Frozen. The second novel, an anthology of short stories, was created specifically to celebrate #Frozen10. It is called All is Found, and it brought together 10 authors to write 10 short stories to celebrate the anniversary. It was edited by Heather Knowles and Mari Mancusi, veterans in non-film Frozen lore.
November is the month things started reallly picking up. The merchandising train at Disney rolled out a lot of Frozen merch, including limited edition dolls of the sisters specifically for the 10th anniversary. On November 16, Bob Iger announced a fourth installment of the franchise, with multiple voice actors and creators tied to the project confirming it later that same day. This coincided with the Grand Opening ceremony of the World of Frozen at Disneyland Hongkong. Jen Lee joined in this celebration, with the gates to the park opening four days later.
She informed the world on November 22 that Frozen III and Frozen IV were one story across two installments.
The anniversary itself was on November 27. Disney released a press release on their official website commemorating all that had happened in Frozen history (kind of like what we are doing with these blog posts). And, of course, the merchandising train spun out once again to give us all new merch specifically for the #Frozen10 celebration.
Towards the end of the month, the Frozen song playlist was added to Spotify and Season 5 of Disney Speedstorm was released with Frozen characters.
The year ended with exciting activity from the fandom! The Youtuber GeekCritique worked closely with the Arendelle Archives to create a video detailing the history of Arendelle. The video was released on December 23 and managed to make headlines! The other major project was a fanzine celebrating #Frozen10. Inspired by All is Found, several fans came together to create Water Has Memory: A Frozen Decade. Within the zine are the fandom's Frozen memories, presented in the form of Elsa & Anna accessing them together through Ahtohallan.
Needless to say, this year was a major leap forward for all things Frozen. It gave so much to look forward to, and it was a sizable way to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of this beloved story.
Stay Tuned for More
👆🏻 Click above if you want to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Frozen. The due date is April 12, 2024.
4 Days Left
We look forward to seeing your memories ❄️

Watching the Frozen movies again. Remembering how much I love them. You know for children’s movies, they actually can get pretty dark when you really analyze the concepts used to tell the story. Showing how quickly magic can become a very destructive thing when not handled correctly or when there’s a lack of emotional control. Elsa’s magic being more so PK ability. That of hydrokinesis/cryokinesis. The psychic ability to manipulate or control water, ice or frost.
There has been similar stories about this with the element of fire as well. Stephen King’s ‘Firestarter’ specifically comes to mind. And many a Marvel or DC character have possessed these supernatural abilities.
It really is about learning to control your inner power because psychic ability (or magic) is an extension of our thoughts and emotions - of our internal selves. The Frozen movie specifically tells the story of a gifted/cursed child that has to overcome their fear of putting their loved ones in danger out of a mishandling and lack of control of their mental and emotional power - which manifests as a physical supernatural ability.
You take the metaphor of that away and you’re left with a child who grows up to be afraid of their own power because they’ve been taught that it’s wrong, that it’s a threat, that it’s destructive and chaotic. When really, what’s more dangerous is repressing it because the fear of it only continues to grow instead and that can be even more destructive in the end.
This is a very dark concept to be telling the story of in a children’s movie if not for the metaphor being used.
But this is also why it connects to an older audience.
Why it works as an all-the-family movie because the older audience can see behind the metaphor to the strong and substantial message that’s there while the younger audience thinks it’s cool and entertaining but can come to relate and resonate with the characters.
Both Frozen 1 and 2 navigate these icy waters quite literally to tell the story of the danger of repression. Keeping it in over letting it out when the latter, while still dangerous, is less dangerous than the former because there’s no emotion more chaotic than fear. And when you possess such immense power that you can’t control, and there’s no real guidance for how to… that fear only intertwines with that immense inner power and exacerbates it - it doesn’t stop or quell it. In that way the moral to the story is about allowing and accepting our inner power than it is about controlling or concealing it and that’s why it’s so empowering and captivating to audiences of any age or gender. They learn that repression just makes power worse because there’s no true understanding of it in the first place.
And I feel like a lot of people who do possess psychic/intuitive power innately need to know and learn this because they’re taught and encouraged to control and conceal their power more so than they are taught to allow and accept themselves as they naturally are.
Speaking from personal experience - when I realized that I was psychic and possessed claircognizant and clairsentient abilities, I didn’t understand my experiences: I thought there was something wrong with me and there was no one I could talk to about it. So having a fictional character like Elsa when I was young would have really helped me with knowing and understanding myself and my own abilities before I had even come across the right or correct “term” and “definition” for them. Before I knew that they were good and that they were a natural part of who I am.
The Frozen movies matter to someone like me that does possess psychic power and ability. But they would also matter to someone not like me because the metaphor doesn’t have to be taken literally. It could simply just be that of understanding our inner power and that we are just as worthy with it or without it.
And that’s the deep story there behind the metaphor. But also very much through the metaphor as well. For me it’s through the metaphor but for most people it’ll be behind the metaphor. Both are just as empowering.

One disappointment I really don't want to have with "Frozen 3" and "Frozen 4": so long after "Frozen 2" the Northuldras are ignored again.
Tumblr media
To this day, the only one they are developing remains a mobile game, "Disney Magic Kingdoms". Even the "Frozen Podcast", which has a large part of its plot taking place in the Enchanted Forest, ignores them and only remembers the tribe in a mention by Kristoff. And in the anthology the story related to them is something from the past that only serves to give Agduna more justification.

Honeymaren and Ryder have so much potential, their connections with Elsa and Kristoff, and I'm not talking about romance although if we consider the mobile game, it's canon to say that the woman is in love with the Snow Queen and her brother supports the shipp after realizing that Elsa wasn't interest in him. And Yelana, although she is by far the least prominent character of the trio, she met Iduna, are they going to continue ignoring that?
If the franchise really needs support from the Sámi tribe to make content with the Northuldra tribe, I hope Disney will be kind to them.
I want "Frozen 3" and "Frozen 4" to explore new characters and new themes, but it doesn't need to ignore its past (it could even bring the idiot prince back to be beaten by someone else, I don't care) and especially the past that It hasn't even been addressed yet.

In Malleus's JP Dorm card, that hasn't come out yet in the U.S. So #Spoliers beware. He visits the protagonist or MC/Yuu almost all the time uninvited or invited. MC/Yuu questions him, and he doubles down and adds in a flirty response. The response "What’s this? Are you trying to say I've invited myself over for no particular reason? No, of course I didn't."
He'll ask if they like to hang out openly, he says, "Do you have any plans for today? If none, you should join me for a walk. I know a nice and quiet place." And "Sometimes when I'm with you, I don't even notice the time passing by. It’s strange…. But not unpleasant." And "We’re about to have a meeting in the lounge. Do you also have gatherings at your dorm? I wouldn’t have any qualms if you were to invite me next time."
In the masqurade dance event, he asks you to dance, practices his singing to impress you, actively wants to spend time with you, and saves you from a fall that could have hurt you because you have no magic to protect you.
This man is very much flirting with you/everyone who plays this game! And is in love I'm convinced. Otome implies that multiple characters that are pining for your affections . It is just 1 person as of late that is in your DMS metaphorically and that him
Ok ok so what you said is driving me insane and I need to get it out
We won't know explicitly about Malleus's Trauma until post overblot right? But they've given enough hints (from s1 itself??) that you can get a pretty good outline of it
And basically he was given the Elsa Treatment™ or something similar? ;
Isolated as a child due to his powers (because people were scared of him, because he could possibly hurt them) to the point that he develops a stoic mask to hide a more dorky, mischevious personality. To the point that he now isolates himself as a defense mechanism even though it's obvious that he's lonely and desperately wants a friend outside of his family. This defense mechanism manifests in a way that means he does not go where he isn't invited (better to avoid it altogether than go and find you're unwanted right?). He needs an explicit invitation to go somewhere, even for things where he technically doesn't need an invitation because he's expected to be there
But...but the fact that he's turning up at ramshackle uninvited? That he's inviting himself? That means....that means he knows MC wants him there. That he's welcome. Always. That he can just come over and hang because he wants to. That it's that simple.
He knows that he's wanted by MC so thoroughly that the knowlege of it managed to fracture a belief system that has been centuries in the making
*me, with feeling:* wtf wtf wtf
