Will there be any more emd side stories? 🥰

I have many questions in my inbox about EMD and Prison Blues, that I avoided for a while, because I hoped I would be in a better headspace to answer them.

Sadly, the fandom has been very weird and hostile lately, and I must say it took all the joy away from writing/reading this pairing.

There was the entire discourse about top/bottom Voldemort that was insane, there was the vitriol I got over writing Omega Voldemort.

And on EMD there is a certain crowd that complains about Delphini and how I triggered them by not tagging her, or not tagging Bella/Voldemort ( it is not tagged because she is dead, simple as that).

Just to show a recent example, I got this bookmark from a fellow author; someone that commented on the chapter Delphini appears in (chapter 13) saying they can’t read anymore because of her. And then they proceeded to read the entire story, 280k of it, just to leave this gem of a bookmark:

And I must say, while I am no novice in getting hate comments and being called all sorts of names, there is a point when one has enough.

I write to have fun, and for others to have fun. Writing Tomarry and being involved in that side of the fandom has not been fun at all lately, so I am taking a break.

I am sorry for the Prison Blues readers especially, and I will still try to finish that story one day for those that read it.

As for EMD I did have 30k written, as a short sequel, but as I said, my pleasure in writing them is non existent at this point.

Hopefully that will change one day, and the fandom won’t be as nasty, and we can all have fun and support each other instead of ripping each other apart over sex positions or if Voldemort is allowed to have had sex in his 70 years of life before Harry.

I am sorry for the long answer, your question just happened to be the most recent I received about EMD or Prison Blues.

For now, I do hope people continue to enjoy the EMD universe as it is. 🥰

SDP40F in Phase II Paint

I assume this unit is from the initial batch of SDP40Fs from La Grange—beyond its fairly low number, it has the more complicated sheet metal work on the nose. (Later ones had a simplified design, with a flat section where the access door is located.)

The reason this locomotive is looking so marvelous—in Phase II paint—is that it has just come out of the Illinois Central Paducah shops after being refurbished. Too bad that the entire fleet of this model would be taken out of service later this very year or early the next due to a mysterious problem that caused it to derail with enough regularity that it was untenable.

The problem *may* have been due to large water tanks which were needed for the steam generator. (This locomotive was designed to haul legacy equipment that still used steam heat.) There's also a question about a newly designed truck. In any event there's never been a definitive reason for the issue. The engines would be returned to EMD which recycled some components in the manufacture of the F40PH for Amtrak; some of the units were reworked into freight locos that ran for the ATSF.

On the advertised, but not as advertised by Greg Brown Via Flickr: Amtrak 792 departs Portland in October 1994. According to the timetable, it's 6:00 pm in the Rose City. Also, the timetable says this train is the Northwest Talgo. The trio of Superliners behind F40 AMTK 384 suggest that you shouldn't believe everything you read. That open area on the engineer's side of the train was once the site of Portland Terminal Company's Depot Yard. Today, the area is filled with condominiums.

ahh erm i dont really read long fics anymore because some of the specific things i look for are usually untagged and i dont want to read a good amount, get jumpscared and lose motivation to continue the fic and just feel like i wasted my time, BUT i have read one super good long fic. it is my favourite fic in the whole world

i love this fic so much. metalo nails their dynamic to a very large extent and the smut is top tier. there is a lot of angst, heavy themes and delphini is a large part of this fic.

also, voldemort is characterised so close to canon, it’s so good. bellatrix isn’t disrespected like some other fics tend to do.

this fic also explores the emotions of other side charcters REALLY well, like andromeda and delphini for example, you know i don’t really like when fics ONLY talk about harry and voldemort, so yeah.. the addition of other characters really adds to the depth of the story. i know it’s already really popular and you might have read it already but Genuinely, this fic was the only fic that got me HOOKED from beginning to end. All The Way. Metalo’s characterisations are just So Good. and their voldemort is a joy to read. Oh, and the whole series is really good, too.

Does One and Two have a mugshot in the hidden city? Like we know they're wanted, but have they ever been caught for petty crimes? And then did they break out or did draxum have to bail them?

Yes >:)

Two has a long rap sheet and One is listed as an accomplice. They are both considered dangerous and are high on the Hidden City's radar.

Draxum gets involved only when and if he finds out, though he has had to bail them out before. One and Two got in big trouble for that.

Since then, One has made sure to do everything (and I mean everything) in his power to bust him and his brother out of jail before Drax finds out.
