All Hands On Deck - part 2
Sickies: OT7 Caretakers: Themselves + Managers
Part: [one]
Hoseok didn’t think he was ready for this. Here he had Jungkook, weirdly both pale and green-tinted, in a wet, vomit-sprayed tee and looking on the verge of crying. Before Jungkook could even consider apologizing, Hoseok merely shushed him softly, reaching a hand up to swipe his cheeks in comfort before tears could even begin to fall. His youngest dongsaeng, despite being taller and more muscular than him already, looked so small standing next to him with how sick he was. There was something about his big eyes being so watery and upset that pulled at Hoseok’s heartstrings immediately.
He was very weak for his members.
“It’s okay, Jungkook-ah, let’s get you changed and in bed. Sound good?”
He received a small hum in agreement, as the younger dancer dropped his face against Hoseok’s shoulder. Oh no… not vomit on the Balenciaga… It was honestly inevitable. He’d definitely have to ask one of the managers for their cleaning trick to get it out later for sure. But first… His hand rubbed small circles on Jungkook’s back as he walked him away from the bathroom, away from the new noises of vomiting from behind the door. It seemed to upset Jungkook further to hear it, and the last thing Hoseok wanted to do was have him sick again, and in the hallway where the clean-up would be harder. The two shuffled awkwardly and slow, but it didn’t seem to nauseate the youngest further, so Hoseok was alright with the pace.
“H-hyung,” Jungkook murmured. “Jin-hyung’s—”
“Hm? Jin-hyung?”
Jungkook pointed at the door. Ah… that made sense.
“Oh, you mean Jin-hyung’s room?” Hoseok guessed. That got a soft laugh and a thumbs up. Perfect, honestly; Jin’s door was closer, anyway. Hoseok merely shuffled to Jin’s room, leading Jungkook inside. Jungkook looked at the bed, but Hoseok merely held onto him, grabbing his shirt. “Come on, let’s get you changed into something cleaner. Okay, hands up.”
Jungkook looked so little. As Hoseok pulled the shirt from him, he couldn’t help but coo at how he scrunched his face. Once off, Hoseok just turned it inside out and dropped it near the door, before helping Jungkook out of his baggy jeans. He was like a child again, like that young teen who was so shy but still crawled into their beds when he felt too lonely or upset or just wanted comfort. Cute. Once in just his boxers, Hoseok led him to sit on the bed, ruffling his hair affectionately. “Stay right here, I’m gonna see what Jin’s got that you can fit.” For good measure, he moved the desk trash can next to the bed.
Hoseok tossed Jungkook’s pants, and his own sweatshirt (feeling too warm for it now anyway, he guessed someone turned the heater up for one of their sick members) to the pile and went to rummage through Jin’s closet for something light. He managed to dig up a simple dark tee and basketball shorts, and dressed Jungkook quickly as he noticed his eyes shutting. He was more than thankful that Jin and Jungkook fit the same clothes; it made it easier, for sure. Hoseok tugged the blanket back as he eased their maknae to lay down, then just ran his hands through Jungkook’s hair until the younger fell asleep.
Once he seemed settled, Hoseok sighed, leaning his head on the side of the bedframe. What a day… It was already giving him a headache, but he was glad to at least be helpful.
~*~
In the bathroom, on the other hand, Jin wished for peace. But all he received was a sharp stench of putrid, vile vomit that seemed rather discomforting being two distinctively different scents of yuck. He honestly didn’t think puke could have identifying smells, but whatever Taehyung was expelling before him had some odd, creamy scent to it that made his own stomach feel uncomfortable. But just taking a sharp breath upward, he merely continued to rub Taehyung’s back, thankful that his curls were at least short enough to stay out of his face.
Taehyung’s vomiting was calmer than Jungkook’s in a sense. Less loud, bouncy motions but more harsh, almost twitching gasps as he coughed up whatever wanted to make its way up his esophagus. He had tried to speak twice, barely getting out Jin’s name, and a broken apology, before he merely gave up. Taehyung had a shaky hand braced on his knee, fingers white-knuckled gripping his sweatpants as if it was the only lifeline he had between staying upright and falling into the porcelain nightmare (oh god, Jin realized, that was going to be a nightmare to clean).
“It’s okay, Taehyung-ah,” Jin said calmly. His hand on Taehyung’s back formed a fist and he rubbed his knuckles with a little more force on Taehyung’s back. Something more of a sensation, hopefully a bit of a distraction. “Try to take a breath now, hm?”
Taehyung coughed up a mouthful and then spit. Jin took the opportunity to flush, hoping to reduce some of the smell. But ever the diligent dongsaeng, Taehyung tried to take a breath. His shoulders slumped and he eased back. And took a second breath.
“H-hyung…”
“I’m here, Taehyung-ah. You’re okay. Just keep breathing—or… that, I guess.”
On Taehyung’s next breath, he gagged and immediately lifted himself back to the toilet, regurgitating out another thick mouthful of sludge. His hand on Jin’s hand merely loosened his grip and he swatted at him, albeit shaky and weakly.
“I know, I know. Not funny. But you always laugh at my jokes.”
Taehyung swatted him again, and coughed. He heaved again, but nothing came out.
“See, my jokes cured you.”
But another heave, and a mouthful of pure bile escaped. Taehyung was running on empty, and Jin could see it. He continued rubbing his back, encouraging him to take another breath. It took Taehyung another few minutes of dry heaving before he managed to sink back, forehead dropping on the toilet. Jin smiled.
“Good job, you stopped. Let’s wait a few minutes before we move, just in case.”
Taehyung just nodded as his eyes closed, his body trying to succumb to at least a few moments rest before Jin made him move. Jin let him have these extra moments in peace, just keeping one hand rubbing his back but now in slow circles. It gave Jin time to send a one-handed text message to Namjoon, letting him know their second youngest was also ill. This was already proving to be a disaster. They were going to need back-up, that was for sure.
~*~
From his spot on the couch, Yoongi looked towards the bathrooms on the left. He’d begun rubbing the sleep from his eyes when he heard Jungkook, but he was wide awake the moment Taehyung also disappeared. This already wasn’t good, and they hadn’t bought that much juk. They’d need more… and given whatever the two had, Yoongi figured he may as well begin messing with inventory.
He yawned as he stood, stretching his arms upward. The noise was enough to have Namjoon looking at him with a frown. “You’re not sick too, are you?”
Yoongi shook his head. “Wouldn’t dream of getting sick before you, Joon. I’m just going to make some juk. I have a feeling we’re going to need more, if Hobi-ah hasn’t come back from checking on them.” He really, really hoped Hoseok wasn’t also sick; that man hated throwing up, the last thing they really needed was an anxiety attack flaring up from anyone over illness. At least, for now, Namjoon and Jimin seemed alright, so after reassuring their leader that he was okay, Yoongi merely trekked his way into the kitchen and went to pull out the big pot. He’d make enough juk to last them a few days; thankfully it wasn’t hard at all. Opening the kitchen, he went to work, glad that Hoseok had organized their kitchen prior.
As Yoongi began cutting green onions, he realized he wasn’t alone. Despite seeming exhausted, Namjoon was out standing by the counter, frowning at his phone as he reread Jin’s updates. “Ah… Hyung, what can I do to help?”
Yoongi smiled. “Can you go check on Hobi and Jungkook? Hobi might need some help. Juk should be ready within the hour.”
An easy task. Namjoon gave a thumbs up and headed down the hall to peer in Jungkook’s room, then Hoseok and Jimin’s, only to find both empty. He just decided to search each room to find them, peering briefly into Yoongi’s empty bedroom before he landed on Jin’s. And there he saw Hoseok running his hand through Jungkook’s hair, Jungkook curled up next to him with his head in his lap on their oldest hyung’s bed. When Hoseok spotted Namjoon in the doorway, he smiled, holding a finger to his lips.
“Did he just fall asleep?”
Hoseok nodded. “I wanted to wait a little before giving him medication in case he could eat anything.”
“Yoongi-hyung’s making juk.” He wheeled over the desk chair to sit in, so he wouldn’t move the bed. “He thinks we’re going to need more.”
With a sigh, Hoseok nodded again. “I wouldn’t be surprised… Someone else is going to get it, I bet. When it’s done, let me know?” It only took a few minutes more before Jungkook began snoring, and the two sighed in relief. He was out. The rappers spent a few moments discussing their gameplan on if more of them came down with this—double line the trash cans, keep their two sick members comfortable, try to keep their medications on schedule. Check everyone just to be safe. Hoseok texted the managers their update while Namjoon headed out to give Jin and Yoongi their new update. The juk would take a bit, so he didn’t rush.
As he made it to the bathroom closest to his room, he knocked lightly. “Jin-hyung? You in there?”
“Ahhh, Namjoon-ah! Yeah, I’m in here. Careful if you open the door, Taehyungie’s legs—”
Namjoon was not careful. Upon immediate push of the door, he immediately knocked the wood onto Taehyung’s legs. Similar to Hoseok and Jungkook, Taehyung had taken Jin’s lap as a pillow, but with a damp towel over his eyes. He groaned but otherwise did not move, and Jin immediately began to fuss as Namjoon apologized.
“Is he sick too, Jin-hyung?”
“He spent ten minutes vomiting and now he won’t get up. And he won’t let me get up. Joon-ah, I can’t help him from down here! We don’t even have a traditional Korean bathroom, I could have just hosed down the mess but no, we have to clean it up! I could have just hosed Taehyung off of me—”
With that, Namjoon laughed, squeezing in and kneeling next to them. Taeyhung, while not as tall as Jin or Namjoon, had put on a significant amount of muscle on his frame, rivaling Jin in terms of weight already. And so much of it was muscle; but his reluctance to move overtook Jin’s attempt to keep him from the floor. It was a lose-lose situation for Jin. Taehyung’s button-up had vomit stains all along the front, and was damp with sweat. Jin had wiped his face already, but the younger vocalist seemed comfortable with the cloth blocking the light.
“Headache, Tae-yah?” Namjoon asked.
He received a mumbled ‘yes’. Fever confirmed by touch. Chills, possibly from the floor, possibly the fever. With a sigh, Jin rubbed his back again.
“Come on, let’s try to make it to the room with Joon, yeah?”
Taehyung grumbles again. “’m dirty…”
“It’s okay buddy, you’ve been sick. You want to try and take a bath?”
That gets the young singer to groan, his hand reaching up to press the cold cloth over his eyes. “I don’t want to move… Every time I move I get woozy.”
Jin sighed, stroking his hair. “Well, let’s at least try to get you changed and clean so you’re more comfortable.”
“Not… not yet.” Taehyung grumbled. He kicked a foot lazily to the side, but it bumped Namjoon’s leg—exactly what he was planning. “Go ‘way.”
Namjoon chuckled softly, patting Taehyung’s shoulder from where he sat. He was pretty sure Jin would catch it, being in proximity of now two vomiting members, but he wasn’t going to stress out over it. As Jin leaned his head back against the wall, he reached a hand over to swat at Namjoon too.
“Just bring him some fresh clothes? We’ll be out when we can, okay?”
Namjoon nodded and scurried out, returning five minutes later with a fresh pair of pajamas. On his way out, he added: “Oh, Jungkook’s taken over your bed.”
“Aish!”

5 times BTS thought Jungkook was throwing up + the one time he actually is
Tumblr media
‐-------------------‐------‐‐----------------
Sick: Jungkook
Caretaker: ot7, each have their individual sections
Tw: gagging, mentions of nausea, vom**, puking, dizziness
Word count: 1,469
Okay... here me out it's a little different from what I usually do, but please let me know what you think!! 🙏 oh and which member was your favourite?? 🤩
‐-------------------‐------‐‐----------------
Namjoon
Jungkook looks adorable, Namjoon thinks as he snaps a photo of the youngest— asleep on the couch in his studio. It wasn't uncommon for the members to relax there, but Jungkook definitely does it the most. Just as Namjoon sends the photo to their group chat, Jungkook wakes with a groan. He stretches before a hand covers his mouth.
Namjoon looks at him, Jungkook's eyes are half lidded and hazy, hand on his month. Wait. Namjoon grabs the trash can under his desk, quickly holding it in front of Jungkook. The youngest takes the bin with a furrowed brow, then erupts with a sneeze, "HIHSH'Ew, ugh. Sorry." Jungkook mumbles, still sleepy. "What's this for?" He adds, lifting the bin slightly.
Namjoon looks at him blankly, "Oh, thank goodness, you're okay. I thought you were about to vomit," Namjoon laughs, half-heartedly because it has happened before, and you can never be too prepared. "Jeeze, hyung, you worry too much." Jungkook giggles.
Seokjin
Jin was peacefully cooking in the kitchen, making one of their go-to's, but still a favourite. The occasional member swings by sometimes to check in and help for a bit, which is why he wasn't surprised when the youngest walked into the kitchen. He opens the fridge and takes a water, taking a few swigs. A drop accidentally goes down the wrong hole, making Jungkook splutter and cough. He throws himself over the sink, coughing and spitting water into the drain.
Seokjin abandons the veggies he was cutting and starts rubbing Jungkook's back, "you okay, Jungkook-ah?" Seokjin said, concerned for the younger. Jungkook nodded and swallowed, recovering from his clumsy drinking. He exhaled, "I'm okay. I swallowed funny and it went down the wrong way." Jungkook wipes his mouth with the back of his hand, Jin still rubbing his spine.
"Christ, you scared me half to death! I thought you were being sick or something." Seokjin admits, dramatically holding his heart. Jungkook chuckled, realising the misunderstanding, "sorry, hyung. I'm fine, I promise." Jungkook replies, earning a sigh and fluffing of his hair from Seokjin.
Hoseok
Put Jungkook with his Hoseokie-hyung and there's bound to be chaos. They were originally practising together, but somehow, it turned into a pirouette competition? Hoseok went first, and he'd say he was pretty graceful, remembering to point his toes as he spun around. Jungkook's high-pitched laugh rang in the air as he held his phone up, recording Hoseok. "Aish!" He exclaimed, "wow, that was hard." Hoseok stopped spinning, after doing approximately 4 turns, again, pretty impressive if you ask him.
"Jungkookie, your turn!" Hoseok beams, quickly flipping out his phone and recording as Jungkook takes the spotlight. He spins in quick succession, one, two, three, four, five?? Jungkook laughs at the very Hoseok-like noises as he films. Jungkook slows down and ends up victorious with 7 turns. Woah, he's kinda dizzy though. Jungkook pants, hand on his knee and arm to his middle.
"Wahhh, Jungkookie!... Hey, you feeling okay?" Hoseok ends the video, jogging to the youngest. He places a hand on his back, heart dropping. "Yeah- just dizzy." Jungkook laughs, straightening up to look at his hyung. "Are you about to puke?" Hoseok blurts, eyes starting to scan for a rubbish bin. "What? No, gosh. I'm fine Hobi-hyung," Jungkook breaks into high-pitched laughter, soon joined by the elder.
Taehyung
Taehyung has an arm wrapped around Jungkook's shoulder, both sharing a blanket as they stare intently at the tv, playing an action movie. Taehyung knew the youngest loved them, but couldn't get as immersed as he could. Thus why when Jungkook made sniffly noises and put a hand over his mouth to stop from sobbing, Taehyung was very confused. And very worried. He had been paying attention and nothing too dramatically sad was happening (he thinks), so what's wrong with Jungkook???
"Jungkookie?" Taehyung holds Jungkook's cheek, body turned to face him. Jungkook looks towards his lap, a little embarrassed, his hand the only thing keeping him from audibly sobbing. "Are you getting sick or something? Your cheeks are pink." Taehyung worries, using his phone light to illuminate Jungkook's face. He sees the shaky fingers cupped over his mouth and assumes the worst. "Do you feel nauseous?" The singer questions.
Jungkook bubbles with a laugh, tears still coming out of his eyes. "I-I'm okay, Taehyungie-hyung." Jungkook uses his sleeve to wipe his eyes, blinking back a couple more and taking some deep breaths. "How are you not sad? Iron man died." Jungkook pouts, maybe Taehyung wasn't paying as much attention as he thought. "I was more worried about you. It looked like you were gonna be sick!" Taehyung frets, pulling the youngest into a hug to calm both himself and Jungkook.
Yoongi
Jungkook sqints at the toilet. It's shiny and looking better already! He'd noticed some dust and decided he'd do a good deed and clean the toilet. Pretty normal thing to do, if you ask Jungkook. Though, Yoongi didn't see it that way when he first walked into the bathroom. The bathroom was half lit and he'd taken his contacts out already. He scans the youngest, who's squated in front of the toilet.
"Kook?" Yoongi says, suddenly next to him and rubbing his back. He's on his toes, ready to grab some pepto or another member. The youngest turns around to look at the older, a confused look on his face. "Do you want some water?" Yoongi offers, wiping his eyes tiredly. Jungkook is still confused as to what his hyung is doing.
"I'm okay, hyung," Jungkook replies. He is enjoying having his back rubbed though, he will admit. "Have you been sick?" Yoongi asks, although the toilet does look oddly clean. "What? Hyung, I'm cleaning the toilet, not throwing up," Jungkook breaks into laughter, clapping his hands. "Oh my bad, good work Kook-ah." Yoongi smiles, "you had me worried."
Jimin
Jimin looks over at the youngest from his position on the couch. Jungkook's face is puffy and he's got two pieces of toast in front of him. Plain toast. No butter, no jam, nothing. They've only got a recording session later this evening, so usually Jungkook works himself quite an impressive appetite even though it's only breakfast. He watches the youngest cringe with each bite, looking like he's zoning out.
He turns off his phone to pay more attention to Jungkook. He sees the younger's face twinge in discomfort or pain—he can't quite tell—and then move a hand under the table to place on his belly. Gotcha. Jimin's mood drops and he walks over to Jungkook, placing a hand on his back. Jungkook doesn't even resist the touch, not bothering to put up a facade as he pushes his plate away, resting his forehead on the table.
"Not feeling the best?" Jimin asks, "I feel sick." Jungkook replies and the dancer hums sympathetically. Jimin slides in the seat next to him, concern apparent on his face. "Kook, do you know what's upsetting you?" Jimin frowns worriedly. "I don't know, hyung... my stomach hurts." Jungkook says and then registers that these are all his tell-tale signs he's about to throw up. He moans at the realisation.
"Jungkook do you need me to bring the bin over?" Jimin stills his hand on Jungkook's back, able to hear the younger's stomach throwing a fit from where he's sitting. Jungkook lifts his head enough to give Jimin a nod. With haste, Jimin grabs the trash can from in the kitchen and brings it back. Jungkook takes the bin and lets it rest in his lap, staring at the meager contents and feeling his stomach churn unhappily.
Jimin can see goosebumps on Jungkook's arms and wishes relief for him so badly. Seeing the youngest pale and quiet, makes Jimin want to switch places with him. The weight of anticipation is soon ended when Jungkook coughs lightly and then breaks out into gags, bringing the bin right up to his face. "Deep breaths, Kook." Jimin says, worry etched onto his face.
Jungkook can only hiccup and release strained breaths, not quite what Jimin wants right now. "Hyung— I'm g-gonna throw up—" Jungkook whimpers, back arching into a 'c' as he retches productively. Jimin pats his back nervously, eyeing the bathroom door, considering relocating the sick maknae.
Gags fill Jungkook's ears and the smell of his previous toast is enough to make him go green in the face. Jungkook tries to focus on the hand on his back and the massaging of his neck but his stomach clearly has other plans. The organ squeezes harshly at every move Jungkook makes, forcing bill up his throat. "I hate this, hyung..." Jungkook mumbles, hugging the bin close.
"Yeah, being sick is no fun, it's a good thing you're healthy." Jimin kisses the singer's hair, "most of the time."

Part 1
the sickfic without a title
part 1 - word count: 5,020
“Go fishing without me, Jinnie. I’m just gonna sleep.”
As soon as Jungkook gets the words out, he yawns, then shivers slightly before leaning his head back against the headboard with a barely-contained grimace of discomfort.
Seokjin takes in his youngest partner’s pale face, the way that he’s wrapping his arms around his midsection like he’s trying to hold himself together, and he frowns deeply.
“I have a whole month to go fishing, baby,” Seokjin replies. He sits down on the edge of the bed and reaches out to cup the side of Jungkook’s face with his hand. His cheeks are warm beneath his palm and Seokjin wonders if there’s a thermometer somewhere in the house. “I’d rather stay here with you if you’re not feeling well.”
Without warning, there are tears trickling down Jungkook’s cheeks and Seokjin startles when he feels them hit the side of his hand.
“Please,” Jungkook sniffles, lip trembling. “I don’t want you to stay here because of me. Please go.”
“Don’t cry,” Seokjin hurries to soothe him. “Okay, don’t cry. Whatever you want, okay?”
Before Jungkook can say anything else, there’s a knock on the door, and then there are five others shuffling into the room, worried expressions and fussing hands reaching out as they surround Jungkook’s bed.
“Why are you crying, Kookie?” Namjoon asks, joining Seokjin on the side of the bed.
“Aw, c’mere.” Taehyung, who is followed by Jimin as he climbs onto the middle of the bed, wraps his arms around Jungkook. He kisses the top of Jungkook’s head and nuzzles into his long wavy hair, and Jungkook lets out a quiet, watery laugh.
“Get off,” Jungkook murmurs, but he leans into the touch anyway. His eyelashes are wet with tears. “What if I’m contagious?”
Jimin hooks his chin over Taehyung’s shoulder and smiles softly at Jungkook. “We’re not worried about that, Jungkookie. We just want you to feel better.”
“What do you need right now?” Yoongi asks from his spot near the foot of the bed. He’s frowning, expression almost angry due to concern. Jungkook almost never gets sick. “Have you taken anything for your stomach yet?”
Hoseok, standing next to Yoongi, nods. “We can go into town and pick up anything you need, Kookie.”
Jungkook sniffles and pulls a sleeve down over his hand so he can wipe the tears from his eyes. He rests his head against Taehyung’s shoulder, looking around the room at all of them and then sniffling again. “I want you guys to go fishing and have fun. I’ll be fine, I promise. I’ll just sleep this off and tomorrow I think I’ll feel a lot better.”
“Hey!” Taehyung whispers conspiratorially. “Are you just trying to get out of fishing with us?”
Behind him, Jimin snorts, and then breaks out into a full fit of laughter, toppling over onto his other side and causing the others to laugh along with him, until some of the tension and worry in the room seems to let up. Even Jungkook giggles, but he’s still holding his stomach and his eyebrows furrow at the movement as he’s jostled around a little.
Finally, Seokjin rolls his eyes and huffs out a breath. “I’m going to be doing all the work anyway. And none of you will even eat the fish I catch!”
“Of course I’ll eat your fish,” Jungkook responds immediately, but none of them miss the way his face turns an almost greenish shade at the mention of eating.
“Okay, Kook-ah,” Namjoon says, leaning forward to press a kiss to Jungkook’s forehead. “Get some rest. We’ll check on you when we get back, okay?”
Jungkook swallows thickly and nods, then slides down in the bed until he’s flat on his back. They each take a moment to say goodbye to him, kissing him on the forehead and fixing the comforter around him gently, and then they’re leaving, looking no less worried than when they had entered the room.
Three hours later, when the six of them return with seven small fish between them, they find Jungkook in the bathroom hunched over the toilet and throwing up so violently that the sound reverberates throughout the entire lakehouse, alarmingly loud.
“Fuck,” Yoongi hisses, dropping to his knees next to Jungkook and quickly combing his hair back from his face for him, gathering it up into a messy bun that he ties up with one of his bracelets.
Beside him, Seokjin rubs between Jungkook’s shoulder blades. “Oh, Jungkookie,” he murmurs. Jungkook’s shirt is drenched in sweat and Seokjin turns to look over his shoulder, catching Jimin’s eye.
“I’ll go grab a change of clothes,” Jimin nods, already anticipating what he’s about to ask, and he hurries out of the bathroom and down the hall.
“I’m gonna go grab him some water. Be right back,” Hoseok says, leaving after Jimin does.
Namjoon squeezes himself in on Jungkook’s other side, in between the tub and toilet, one hand rubbing up and down Jungkook’s arm while he uses his other to pull his phone out of his pocket. Seokjin doesn’t even have to see his phone screen to know he’s searching on Naver, probably for advice on what to do next.
“Do we have a thermometer here?” Namjoon asks a moment later. “We should check his temperature.”
Taehyung, who’s hovering in the doorway biting down on his lip hard, wrings his hands together. “I’ll go look for one,” he tells Namjoon, and then he heads toward the main bathroom where they keep the medicine and other first aid supplies.
“He’s burning up,” Seokjin notes, his palm still pressed firmly to Jungkook’s back. Jungkook groans loudly and then whimpers before the next round of vomiting hits. Beads of sweat drip down the sides of his face, his neck, and after a couple more long minutes of awful, forceful retching, he sags forward against the toilet, shaking hard and gasping for air.
“You’re okay, baby,” Yoongi whispers, tugging him away from the toilet by the shoulders. “We’ve got you.”
Jungkook starts to sob, then, the sound of his crying pained and raspy. Heat is coming off of him like a furnace and he’s listless in Yoongi’s arms, barely able to hold himself upright. Yoongi holds him to his chest, cupping the back of Jungkook’s head to keep him there, and he looks over to share a worried glance with Seokjin while Jungkook cries into his shirt.
“How long has this been going on, hm?” Yoongi murmurs, tucking his face into Jungkook’s sweaty hair. “Is this the first time you’ve thrown up since we left?”
With a sudden shiver that hits him so hard they can hear his teeth clatter together, Jungkook whimpers and then nods against Yoongi’s chest. His tears and snot are already soaking a spot against the fabric. The three of them move closer towards Jungkook instinctively; Namjoon reaches out to cup Jungkook’s clenched jaw, rubbing gently until he relaxes a little, while Seokjin keeps rubbing his back and Yoong wraps his arms even tighter around the shivering man.
“Here,” Hoseok announces from the doorway. “Got some water.”
He kneels down and waits for Jungkook to lift his head away from Yoongi’s chest. He tips the bottle of water towards Jungkook’s lips, helping him drink, but halfway through Jungkook shivers again and water dribbles down his chin.
“Sorry,” Jungkook hisses, jaw clenched again as a fresh wave of tears roll down his cheeks. “Fuck, I’m so cold.”
“Shh, it’s okay,” Hoseok replies quickly. “I’ll go grab a blanket for you, okay? Then we can try some more water in a few minutes.”
Jimin appears in the doorway then with a fresh change of clothes. He hands them off to Hoseok and wordlessly goes to grab said blanket, and Hoseok and Yoongi help Jungkook strip out of his sweat-soaked shirt so he can change into the dry one. Jungkook shivers the whole time, quiet as he lets himself be manhandled into the new shirt. His skin is hot despite his claims of feeling cold.
“You’re just running a little fever,” Yoongi says when Jungkook is tucked back against his chest. “Once Minnie comes back with a blanket and you sip some more water, we’ll take your temperature and get you some medicine. Okay?”
Jungkook doesn’t react to that. He just lies there against Yoongi, sniffling every minute or so, tears silently falling.
“This came on kind of fast, didn’t it?” Namjoon asks, voice almost a whisper. He’s on his phone again, eyebrows creased together with worry.
Hoseok, Yoongi and Seokjin don’t respond, but they’re all thinking the same thing– none of them have ever seen Jungkook this sick before, and so regardless of the timing, it came on much too fast for any of their liking. Their worry hangs in the air, tense and almost stifling, and they’re all silent until Jimin returns with a blanket.
“Here, Kookie,” he says, joining the five of them on the bathroom floor before tucking the blanket around Jungkook’s trembling shoulders. His mouth falls open in shock when his hand brushes the back of Jungkook’s neck.
“Uh.” Jimin swallows. “Should we…is the blanket too much?” He’s pressing his palm to Jungkook’s neck, then the side of his face, alarmed at the heat he finds. “Shouldn’t we try to cool him down?” He moves his hand to Jungkook’s forehead, then flips it around and feels it with the back of his hand too, like it might make a difference. “He’s really hot.”
Jungkook makes a choking sound, something between a sob and a cough, and Yoongi nearly shoves him in the direction of the toilet in a panic, his body twisting awkwardly so he can prop Jungkook up above the bowl.
Instead of throwing up, though, Jungkook just cries, tears pouring from his red-rimmed eyes.
“I’m not–” Jungkook breaks off with another sob. “I’m just…I’m sorry…you can take the blanket.”
They can barely make out what he’s saying through his cries. Yoongi keeps him in place by the toilet, and Hoseok and Seokjin rub his back, whispering encouraging words as they wait for him to start vomiting again.
After a few moments where Jungkook just cries, and shivers, but doesn’t do much else, Jimin gasps in realization.
“Oh shit. I’m sorry, Kookie. I’m sorry, you’re not too hot! You can keep the blanket, okay? Just, calm down, okay?”
Jimin motions for Yoongi to release Jungkook, and he gathers the younger man in his arms, tugging the blanket snugly around his frame.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispers against Jungkook’s ear. “I didn’t mean to worry you, sweetie. You’re not too hot, okay? Just a little bit sick, that’s all. Please stop crying, okay? You can keep the blanket. Is it making you feel better?”
He rubs Jungkook’s back vigorously through the blanket, shoulders sagging in relief when Jungkook nods his head at the question.
“Sorry,” Jungkook rasps. “I can’t stop crying.”
“Cry all you need to,” Jimin tells him. “And you don’t have anything to apologize for.”
“Hey.” Taehyung appears in the doorway, triumphantly holding up a thermometer. “Finally found it.” He looks at everyone and tilts his head to one side. “Why are we all on the floor still?”
Jungkook shivers violently and then groans, but he lifts his head to squint up at Taehyung. “I’m on the floor ‘cause I’m sick. I don’t know about the rest of them.”
Hoseok snorts into a laugh, causing everyone else to chuckle along, but they all stop suddenly when Jungkook groans again.
“Fuck,” he says weakly. “Fuck.”
“Oh, sweetheart,” Seokjin murmurs. “Do you need to throw up again? Do you want to try some water?”
The only response he gets from Jungkook is a soft whine and a bout of shivers that shake him and Jimin both.
“Hey, there’s no room for me,” Taehyung says, but squeezes himself next to Jimin and Jungkook anyway, careful not to jostle them as he does. He slips the thermometer into Jungkook’s mouth and maneuvers it under his tongue, and Jungkook gags immediately, eyes flying open wide.
“Shit, sorry–” Taehyung flinches backward, and Yoongi lunges forward to help guide him back over the toilet.
Jungkook grabs onto Jimin’s shirt with both fists and uses what little strength he has left to brace himself against the movement, not letting Yoongi move him.
“No! I’m…” He pauses, takes a breath through his nose. Jimin closes his eyes and waits for the worst.
“I’m not gonna…”
Even though Jungkook is saying he’s not about to throw up, he’s so pale his face matches his white t-shirt, and he’s sweating again, drops of moisture running down his forehead from his hairline. He presses his lips together tightly, nostrils flaring wide as he sucks in another breath through his nose only. A second passes by, and then another, and then he lets out a trembling, shivery sigh.
“I’m good, I just…wasn’t expecting it to be a mouth thermometer,” he finally gets out, voice weak and shaky. His gaze flits over to Taehyung. “Thought it would go on my forehead or something,” he says.
Taehyung nods frantically. “I should have warned you first. I’m really sorry, Jungkookie.”
Yoongi reaches over to push back a few stray sweaty strands of hair off of Jungkook’s forehead. “You ready now? It shouldn’t take too long to get a reading.”
Jungkook nods, and Taehyung eases the thermometer past his lips again, slow and careful with his movements. Jungkook still gags again once it’s under his tongue, but he manages to keep it together, his eyes squeezed shut while they all wait for the thermometer to beep.
“I’m so sorry, love,” Taehyung whispers. “It should just take a second.”
“You’re doing so well, sweetheart,” Hoseok tells him, rubbing his arm.
Fresh tears spill out of the corners of Jungkook’s eyes, down his cheeks, and his lips tremble around the thermometer. When it beeps, Taehyung slides it out quickly and peers down at the number with a frown.
“I can’t stop crying,” Jungkook whispers. “And I can’t stop shivering.”
“That’s okay, baby,” Seokjin replies. He strokes Jungkook’s cheek with the back of his hand. “You cry all you need to, okay? None of us mind. Were sorry you’re feeling so bad.”
While Taehyung shows Namjoon the number and Namjoon uses his phone to convert the number to Celsius, Jungkook’s sniffles grow more persistent. Yoongi unrolls some toilet paper and uses a wad of it to dry the tears from Jungkook’s cheeks, then wipes gently under his nose. Jungkook is still again, leaning heavily against Jimin’s chest while Taehyung fixes the blanket around him and Hoseok rubs his back.
“It’s not actually very high,” Namjoon tells them once he figures out the conversion. “37.7 degrees.”
“Feels higher,” Jungkook replies miserably. “Hate this.”
Before any of them can respond, Jungkook stiffens, then scrambles to sit upright, and he frees one arm from the blanket so he can clamp a hand over his mouth. Yoongi, still on high alert from before, peels the blanket the rest of the way off and tosses it to Hoseok, then wraps an arm around Jungkook’s waist, shuffling on his knees as he guides him back next to the toilet.
Jungkook’s entire body is so tense that they can see the muscles on his neck staining, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he tries not to take in too deep of a breath. His eyes are wide and panicked, and his stomach makes a loud gurgling noise.
“Let’s give him some space,” Seokjin whispers, tugging Taehyung and Jimin off the floor and leading them out into the hallway.
Hoseok follows too, and he leans against the doorframe with the still-full bottle of water in his hand, watching anxiously as Jungkook finally has to give in to his body’s demands and begins to hurl into the toilet bowl.
When he’s done, Jimin grabs a washcloth and wets it with warm water, handing it down to Namjoon, who’s still on the floor with Jungkook. Namjoon wipes Jungkook’s chin with the cloth while Yoongi pulls more toilet paper off the roll to dry Jungkook’s tears and wipe his nose.
A shudder runs down Jungkook’s spine and he snuffles miserably into the wad of tissues that Yoongi holds to his face.
“Fuck,” he croaks. “Hate this.” The last word breaks off into a sob that sounds so sad it brings tears to Yoongi’s eyes.
“Baby, I know,” he coos, wiping his eyes discreetly and rubbing Jungkook’s back. “This sucks. I’m so sorry.”
Jungkook shivers and wraps one arm around his stomach with a wince.
Before anyone can really say or do anything else, Jungkook gags loudly, and then grabs onto the toilet seat with both hands to brace himself.
Namjoon can’t help the shocked expression that crosses his face. “Again?”
Jungkook doesn’t even have time to nod.
There’s not much left for him to get up. When he’s done dry heaving, he lets him fall sideways into Namjoon’s body, his head lolling to the side. Namjoon cards his fingers through Jungkook’s sweat-drenched hair– only half of it is still tied up with Yoongi’s bracelet– and presses a kiss to his temple.
“Let us know if you think there’s more,” he whispers.
Jungkook moans loudly at that, his voice broken and crackly. “No, fuck. I hope not,” he says. “Fuck.”
They stay there for a few more minutes while Jungkook catches his breath, Namjoon and Yoongi on the floor with him while Hoseok, Seokjin, Jimin and Taehyung wait just outside the bathroom. Eventually, Seokjin kneels back beside Jungkook and takes one of his hands, squeezing gently.
“Do you think you can stand up? We’ll get you back into bed.”
Jungkook nods, but it takes three of them to get him off the bathroom floor and help him stand. Seokjin and Namjoon get under his arms on either side of him and they start to guide him out of the bathroom, watching with worry as his legs visibly shake and his chin drops to his chest as if he doesn’t have the strength to even hold his head up.
Jimin goes into the bathroom as they leave and flushes the toilet, and he’s opening the cabinet under the sink to check for cleaning supplies when Jungkook stops walking and glances back, tears filling his eyes.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers hoarsely, and then he’s crying hard, body shaking with the effort. “I’m sorry, I–”
“Don’t apologize, sweetie,” Jimin cuts him off. “You’re sick and it’s not your fault. I don’t mind cleaning up a little, okay?”
“You’d do the same for any of us,” Hoseok says, ducking down to meet Jungkook’s watery gaze. “We just want you to rest and feel better. Okay?”
Jungkook sniffles and nods, but tears are still pouring down his face when he starts walking again. They’re halfway back to Jungkook’s bed when his entire body tenses, and that’s the only warning they get before he’s vomiting again, held up on either side by Namjoon and Seokjin gripping his elbows so he doesn’t hit the ground when his knees buckle.
*
That had been the start of their month-long vacation at the lake.
Now, three days later, there’s no doubt that this is something Jungkook can’t just sleep off.
In fact, he hasn’t gotten much sleep at all since becoming sick– none of them have, really– but he’s so tired he can barely get out of bed. By the third day of his illness, they’ve all developed a sort of routine taking care of him, bringing him water and medicine and small amounts of food around the clock even though he can’t keep much down. They all have plenty of practice taking care of each other, and even though they can count the number of times Jungkook’s been sick since they’ve been dating on only one hand, they easily fall into roles like they’ve been assigned them.
“I brought some crackers,” Hoseok announces hesitantly, knocking on the open door and peeking into Jungkook’s room. “And some broth.”
He can tell that Jungkook is biting back a response, his two front teeth digging into his lower lip and his eyebrows drawing together just slightly in the middle.
“I know, I know,” Hoseok sighs. He makes his way over to Jungkook, setting his tray down on the nightstand before settling down on the edge of the bed. “But I also bring kisses and hugs.”
The covers are pulled all the way up to Jungkook’s chin. Hoseok pulls them down just enough to help guide Jungkook a little higher on the bed, stuffing a pillow between him and the headboard so he’s halfway propped up. Jungkook shivers at the loss of blankets even though he’s wearing a hoodie. Hoseok presses a kiss to his warm forehead, and then another kiss to his cheek.
“Sorry,” he whispers afterward, patting Jungkook’s chest. “Just a few crackers, okay?”
He holds up a cracker. He’s found that Jungkook is much more willing to eat if he doesn’t have to feed himself, and he seems to be more willing to let Hoseok feed him out of all of them.
Jungkook swallows thickly, then closes his eyes and lets his mouth fall open with a tired sigh. When Hoseok slides the cracker between his front teeth, he dutifully bites down, taking the tiniest bite he can get away with and chewing it slowly. Hoseok can hear his breathing pick up as he eats, his breath puffing in and out of his nose while he keeps his lips pressed together, a tight thin line.
Hoseok brushes his fingers against the little crease between Jungkook’s eyebrows once he has eaten one single cracker. It takes him several minutes to finish, and when he’s done he’s looking much paler than before.
“How about a second one?”
Jungkook’s chin begins to tremble. He opens one eye to squint up at Hoseok.
“You’re doing so good, love,” Hoseok whispers. “So good.”
It’s enough encouragement, apparently, for Jungkook to keep going. He eats another cracker, and then a third, and then he lets Hoseok hold a mug of warm broth to his lips.
Hoseok kisses the tip of Jungkook’s nose when he finishes the crackers and a few sips of broth.
He holds Jungkook’s hand while he takes deep breaths through his nose to quell the nausea that arises almost instantaneously after he adds a sip of water on top of it.
And five minutes later, when Jungkook is throwing it all back up, Hoseok rubs his back and whispers apologies and holds his hair back from his face.
*
In the late afternoon, Jimin grabs two water bottles from the fridge and makes his way into Jungkook’s bedroom.
“Hey,” he greets the younger man when Jungkook yawns and looks up at him sleepily from where he’s curled up on his side, blankets clutched tightly to his chest.
There’s a sheen of sweat on Jungkook’s face and Jimin frowns, glancing down at the thermometer on the nightstand. He sets one of the bottles of water down and wipes the condensation from his hand on his pants, then settles in the chair that one of them had placed next to Jungkook’s bed at some point.
“How are you feeling?” He asks, pressing his palm to Jungkook’s forehead. “Do you think you could drink some water for me?”
Jungkook’s skin is hot and his face is flushed pink. He yawns again and warily eyes the bottle of water that Jimin holds out toward him until Jimin clears his throat and motions for him to sit up a little.
Sitting up seems to take a lot of effort out of him. As soon as he sips enough water for Jimin to be satisfied, he slumps back down against the pillows, tugging the blankets up until only his nose and eyes are visible. Jimin can’t help but reach out and put his hand on Jungkook’s forehead again, and even though worry twists in his gut at the warmth he feels, he smiles when Jungkook leans into the touch with a relieved sigh.
“Can you…keep it there?” Jungkook asks, and Jimin nods, adjusting his palm to cover all of Jungkook’s forehead. He brushes his thumb over his brow in a soothing motion and smiles when less than a minute later, Jungkook appears to fall asleep, soft snores drifting through the air.
After a few minutes, Jimin feels his arm growing tired, but he doesn’t dare move his hand and risk waking Jungkook up. He clears his throat again, then looks around until he finds the second bottle of water he’d brought in the room with him. Uncapping it with one hand, he chugs the water down until the bottle is empty. Just as he’s finishing it, Jungkook startles awake, entire body jerking with a shiver.
“Ugh,” he groans, shivering again and curling up as tightly as he can. “My face is hot but everything else is cold.”
Jimin tuts sympathetically and presses the backs of his fingers to Jungkook’s cheeks.
“Yeah, your face is pretty warm. Want a cool cloth?”
Jungkook shakes his head. “No. Too cold.”
Jimin chuckles. “Aw, sorry, Kookie. I wish there was a way I could make you feel better right now.”
“You are making me feel better,” Jungkook responds quietly. His tongue darts out to wet his lips. “My lips hurt,” he croaks after a moment. “Sorry. I don’t mean to complain so much.”
Jimin frowns, already patting his pockets. “Complain all you need to. You’re allowed to when you’re feeling so sick.” He pulls a stick of lip balm from his back pocket and leans forward to apply it to Jungkook’s dry, cracked lips. Jungkook tries to rub his lips together afterward, but even that seems like a great effort for him so Jimin uses his pinky to help spread it around evenly.
“Thank you.” Jungkook swallows, then swallows again. Calmly, albeit shakily, he pushes himself up onto one elbow. “I’m gonna throw up.”
They make it to the bathroom just in time. All that comes up is bile and water, and Jungkook cries in between each heave, his nose runny and his eyes puffy and red.
Namjoon comes to check on them just as Jimin is flushing the toilet and Jungkook is blowing his nose. He helps Jimin get Jungkook to his feet, and then they both tuck him into bed, settling on either side of him and running their fingers through his hair while he shivers and drifts off into a fitful state of half-consciousness.
*
“I’m awake.”
Seokjin freezes, one hand hovering above Jungkook’s face as he switches out the cloth on his forehead for a fresh, cool one. It’s the middle of the night, and moonlight spills into the room through the large window opposite the bed.
“Hey, Jungkookie. How are you feeling?”
“Don’t want that,” Jungkook grumbles in response, eyes still closed. He flinches when Seokjin adds another wet cloth to the side of his neck that’s most exposed. “Too cold.”
“I know, hun,” Seokin sighs. “But your temp is up a little and I’m worried about you overheating.”
“I’m not gonna overheat. I’m too fucking cold.”
Seokjin sighs. He drags a hand down his face and watches Jungkook shiver and reach up to remove the cloth from his neck, his eyes squeezed shut the entire time. “No need to bite my head off,” he murmurs softly.
Jungkook is silent for a long moment. When he opens his eyes, Seokjin can see tears shining there.
“I’m sorry,” he says. His shivers hard and his teeth chatter. “Fuck, I’m sorry. I don’t want the washcloth.”
“Apology accepted,” Seokjin replies. “I’d be grumpy too, if I were you. Also, you’re too stubborn, you know that?”
“I’m not grumpy,” Jungkook huffs. “I’m not stubborn.”
Seokjin bites back a smile. “Okay, well, you’re running a high temperature and that’s a fact. I’ll take a reading right now so you can see for yourself.”
Jungkook is quiet as Seokjin takes his temperature. He’s quiet when Seokjin shows him the reading. He’s quiet when Seokjin moves the cloth back to his neck and presses a kiss to the tip of his nose afterward, but he’s shivering harder now, chills wracking his body. In the moonlight, Seokjin can see a single tear slide down his face, and when he reaches out to brush it away with his thumb Jungkook turns pleading eyes on him.
“Please,” he whispers, voice thick with sleepiness and desperation. “I’m too cold.”
Jungkook’s teeth are suddenly chattering louder than Seokjin’s ever heard anyone’s teeth chattering before, and it’s unsettling. He relents, removing both the cloth from Jungkook’s forehead and the one from his neck, and then he fetches another blanket even though it feels like he shouldn’t be adding any more layers. He tucks it around Jungkook’s body carefully, smoothing it out to keep his hands busy, heart pounding at the way Jungkook is shaking so hard.
“Fuck.” Moments later, even though he’s still shaking violently, Jungkook is pushing the blankets off. “Fuck.”
“Are you still cold?” Seokjin asks uncertainty, and even though Jungkook shakes his head, he’s still shivering violently.
“My insides are burning up,” he chokes out, and another shiver wracks his body. “I’m…fuck, I don’t know. I’m cold and hot,” he whimpers. His breath catches, breaks off into a sob. “I’m so cold.”
Seokjin grabs one of the wet cloths again and gently wipes it over Jungkook’s forehead, from his temple down his cheek, across his pulse point under his jaw. He feels helpless, at a loss for words in a way that he usually isn’t, intense worry twisting in his gut. He swallows back the sudden urge to cry and pulls his phone from his pocket.
By the time Jungkook announces he’s going to puke, Seokjin has already texted for backup, and Yoongi arrives just in time to help him haul Jungkook to the bathroom.
Afterward, when Jungkook is slumped over both of their laps on the bathroom floor, Seokjin presses another cool cloth to his forehead and Jungkook doesn’t have any energy left in him to protest.

Hello! Can I request sick jungkook with a bad stomach bug and he’s sick all night? Any caretaker is fine
Another sick JK fic! :) I couldn't decide on a caretaker so I chose two, I love the maknae line together 💜
Up all night
Sickie: Jungkook
Caretakers: Jimin and Taehyung
TW: emeto
It's 3 in the morning and Jungkook is throwing up into the toilet once again. He's been going back and forth from his room to the bathroom all night. He caught a vicious stomach bug out of nowhere and took a turn for the worse after dinner. Taehyung and Jimin are both up taking care of the maknae. Jimin rubs his back while Taehyung went to get water.
Jungkook leans in front of the toilet as his stomach cleches and he pukes up his dinner. Little pieces of undigested bibimbap floating in the bowl, he stares at it glumly.
Jimin feels so bad seeing the youngest like this. Now that he thinks about it, Jungkook seemed like he was struggling a bit at dance earlier. His face looked pale and he seemed to get tired faster...and now he's hunched over the toilet throwing up everything he ate.
Jungkook is shaking all over as he holds himself over the bowl, breathing shallow. He upchucks another lumpy wave, filling the bowl more. "Hyung.." he whimpered "I hate this."
"Awwh, it's okay Kookie" Jimin coos, rubbing circles into his upper back. Jimin feels his back muscles tense up when he heaves and sways forward, projectile vomiting. The older grimaces at the awfulness, that was an especially bad one. Jungkook is coughing and spitting repeatedly and sweating profusely. His stomach is in shambles and he has cramps from all the heaving. When he finally finishes spitting he's catching his breath.
"Finished?"
"Yeah.. for now" JK wipes his forehead.
Jimin flushes it for him and wipes his face with a towel.
Taehyung is waiting for him outside with water. Jungkook takes a sip and swishes his mouth and spits into the sink. He doesn't want to risk swallowing it and getting sick again.
"You should drink some as well Kook"
"Ugh, I'll just puke it up again" JK whined.
"You don't want to get dehydrated" Taehyung advises.
Jungkook sighs, looking at the cup. He takes a few tiny sips and holds his breath, seeing how his stomach reacts. It seems..fine. For now.
"Let's get you back to bed" Taehyung murmurs, leading him out.
Jungkook holds his middle as he trudges back to his room. But as soon as he gets comfortable back in bed, his stomach starts roiling again. "Ughh, come on" he moans, sitting up and taking off the blankets. He gags and gets up in a panic with a hand over his mouth. JK races as fast as he can to the bathroom but he doesn't make it; he threw up all over the floor in an instant. "Ahh fuck.." His stomach forced it up so fast within 5 seconds. Taehyung and Jimin gasp and rush over.
"Oh no, Kookie! It's okay, come here" Jimin gets him to the toilet and he spews up more liquid.
"Oh no I'm so s-sorry" Jungkook's choking out sobs.
"It's okay it's not your fault" the elders both reassure him. Jimin goes back to rubbing his back and Taehyung cleans the floor. They give him another set of clothes to change into as he got the other ones dirty. They also give him a trash bin for his room.
Jungkook sits in his bed with it as he doesn't trust his stomach enough to lie down again. And right he is. He burps and out comes a bitter tasting mouthful of liquid. He's dry heaving and coughing over the bucket on the corner of his bed. He's exhausted. "No more throwing up..no more.." the maknae whimpered to himself, eyes tearing up. Jungkook throws up more water and it comes out his nostrils too. Now it burns breathing through his nose and his eyes are really watering. He spits out bile and wipes his eyes with a tissue.
"N-no more.." Jungkook looks at the bit of vomit in the bin and sighs. He rubs his stomach trying to calm it. He can feel exhaustion taking over and he flops back against the pillow. It's almost 5 now and his body is just done.
Jimin and Taehyung join him in bed to make sure he's okay and they're tired as well. Jungkook soon drifts off into a deep sleep.

This was written long ago that I planned to edit but decided I'll keep it as is since I'm behind on all my requests and its fitting with the season. This is one I wrote just for me.
Sickie; jungkook, Taehyung and Hobi
Warning; vom!t
Caretaker: ot7
Jungkook gathers leaves as Hobi talks to the camera, doing a bangtan bomb after finishing up their latest photo shoot. He first goes after Namjoon, but he notices him and points to Hobi.
Jungkook smiles mischievously, nodding and shoving the leaves into the back of Hobi's hanbok. He giggled loudly as he bolts towards the woods.
"Get back here, you little punk!" Hobi runs after Jungkook, trying to remove the leaves as he runs after the mankae. Jungkook trips, not able to notice the rabbit hole because of the blanket of leaves,tumbling to the ground.
Hobi tries to skid to a stop, but slips on the leaves, falling on his tailbone. "Aiish.. Jaykay are you hurt?"
"My ankle hurts a bit, but I think I'm okay." Jungkook rolls his ankle, checking to see if it was sprained. "Are you?"
"I'm fine..just a sore bottom..You're such a brat!" Hobi throws leaves at Jungkook.
"Are you guys okay?" Taehyung ran to catch up with them when he heard the crash of them falling, relaxing when he saw Jungkook throw leaves back at Hobi, the two playing.
"Yeah. Just be careful.. it's slippery.. it must've rained recently here.." Hobi warns. "I'm surprised you didn't fall too.."
Taehyung offers his hand to Hobi, but when he tries to pull him up, the older slips on the wet leaves once more, bringing the vocalist down with him. "Aiish!"
"I'm sorry, Taehyungie!" Hobi apologizes, hugging him close. "I'm sorry are you okay?"
"I'm okay.. you helped cushion my fall..Ah Jiminie stay away! Its dangerous!" Taehyung shouts fearful of him suffering the same fate as them when he sees Jimin running to check on them.
"We're okay Jimin-sii. Don't worry!" Jungkook reassures him.
Jimin slows down, relaxing. "I got worried when I heard Tete. What happened?"
"The leaves are slippery.. so I fell chasing Jungkook because he shoved dead leaves down my back." Hobi narrows his eyes with mock anger, throwing more dead leaves at the youngest.
"Rapmonie-hyung encouraged it." Jungkook says with a giggle, tossing the leaves back at him.
"Gukkie you got me too!"Tae whines, shoving a handful of leaves down the front of Jungkook's shirt despite the youngers struggle against it.
"You guys are ruining your outfits." Jimin laughs, nearly falling. "Come on we're supposed to be wrapping up."
"They are wrapped up.. in each other." Jin jokes.
Jimin jumps at the sudden sound of Jin's voice. "Hyung when did you get here?"
"Joon-ah sent me to look for you." Jin replies, smiling fondly at the younger members, seeing Taekook double teaming J-hope, burying him with the autumn leaves as he laughs.
"Okay, I'll pull up Tete. You can pull up Jaykay." Jimin and Jin work together to separate the youngest members.
"It's time to go. We still have practice to do." Jin says, brushing leaves from Jungkook's clothes. "You're soaked.. go change so we can go. All three of you."
"Okay Seokjinnie hyung." Hobi takes Jungkook's hand to pull himself up, everyone leaving to continue the rest of their busy schedule.
"5..6..7..8.." Hobi tried counting over the music, but his voice wasn't carrying as loud as it usually does. He thought nothing of it, just motioning for staff to turn the music down. They've been working nonstop for their new album, and between practice, making the studio recordings, music videos, and photoshoots, he wasn't surprised his throat was getting sore.
The team went over the choreography once more without vocals, then again Jimin started the song strong, but when jungkook tried to follow his voice cracked when he tried to hit the higher notes, coughing.
"Jungkook, are you okay?" Jimin quickly finds him a water bottle.
"My throat hasn't recovered since we recorded.." Jungkook frowns, taking the water from Jimin. "Thanks jimin-sii.."
"Sing at a lower range for now, okay? We'll focus on the timing." Namjoon gives him a sympathic smile. He's been doing vocal lessons on top of recordings.. I should've told him to lay off the lessons until we finished recording..
"Alright, Namjoonie-hyung." Jungkook takes a drink of water, the coolness soothing his throat. "I hope it's better by next week.."
"You should be fine by then as long as you rest your voice as much as possible." Yoongi reassures him.
"I'll make you some tea when we get home." Jin offers, looking at both Jungkook and Hobi. Even if Hobi didn't say it out loud he could hear the strain in his voice.
"Thanks hyungie. That'd be great." Hobi smiles.
The seven members start up practice again, changing notes to be lower for Jungkook. Everything was going smoothly until Hobi started slowing down halfway through the fifth song, wrapping his arm around his middle, making Jungkook smack into him, Hobi losing his balance.
"Are you okay Hyungie? I'm sorry I didn't notice you stopped moving." Jungkook dropped to his knees next to Hobi, checking him for injuries.
"Yeah.. yeah I think I just need to eat something..my stomach started cramping up. I should've had something other than coffee.."
"I'll find you something.." Jimin quickly leaves the room.
"Here, drink some water for now." Yoongi gives Hobi a water bottle, helping him take small sips. "Any better?"
Hoseok nods, relaxing with the pain dies down. "Sorry..I didn't mean to worry you guys.."
Jimin returns to the room with a banana, letting go of the breath he didn't know he was holding when he sees that Hobi was no longer clutching his stomach. "Here Hyungie."
"Thanks Minnie.." Hoba gently peels the banana open, taking a few bites. "I'm feeling better now.. let's take a few minutes break and start again.."
Practice started again and everything was fine for an hour, until another member started showing signs of pain. Taehyungs movements started getting smaller and smaller, until it was unacceptable to Hobi.
"Taehyung-Ah, It's fine to practice like that right before a concert but you have to give it your all right now. I know you're tired but so is everyone else." Hobi scolds him, eyes widening when Taehyung suddenly sits on the ground his knees giving in.
"I'm sorry..i can't move well..my stomach just hurts hyung.." Taehyung whines softly,wrapping his arms around his middle. Hobi feels his stomach drop to the floor, feeling guilty for not noticing how pale or how shaky the husky toned vocalist became.
"What? When did it start hurting?" Yoongi blinks slowly, taken back by Taehyung's sudden confession rushing to his side reaching to touch his bloated stomach, feeling his muscles constrict under his hand. "Aiish Taehyungie.."
"This morning it was a little upset.. I didnt want to complain, especially not after Hobi-hyungie and Jungkook not feeling well either, but I can't do this. It keeps getting worse.."Taehyung says groaning when his stomach gurgles.
"Aiigo, Voo, you should've said something earlier.. You shouldn't push yourself so hard.." Jin sits next to him. How could he have missed how quickly his health declined. "Do you feel like you're gonna throw up?"
"I don't think so.. I just want to lie down and try to sleep the pain away." Taehyung whispers, closing his eyes tightly as another ripple of pain hits.
"I'll get someone to take you home." Jin looks to the staff members.
"Can I go with him, hy..hyung?" Jungkook clears his throat when his voice breaks. "I don't think I can continue singing anyway..it was only high notes before.. but now it's hurting to talk.."
"We could end practice early today." Namjoon suggests. "Jungkook and Taehyung both aren't in good condition and I know everyone else is tired too."
Hobi nods in agreement. He didn't think it was just a lost voice with Jungkook. The young vocalist was also out of breath much quicker than usual, and his voice was weakening at an alarming rate and his own stomach was still aching."We got the choreography perfect today and yesterday. We'll be fine if we cut out a few hours."
Jin and Namjoon lead Taehyung to the bedroom, pulling the blanket back, easing him into his bed. "Here Tae lay down, Yoongi is going to get you medicine.." Jin rubs his neck gently as Namjoon gets a trashcan to put by the side of the bed.
I don't understand..just yesterday he was playing with Hoba and Jungkookie..
Jin frowns, feeling sweat on the back of Taehyung’s neck. "Namjoon-ah I think he's starting to run a fever. Could you get a thermometer?"
"Of course Hyung." Namjoon leaves the room, brushing past Yoongi.
"Here I got some medicine for you, Taehyungie." Yoongi presents the medicine bottle, measuring a dosage of medicine out.
While Yoongi preps the medicine, Jin helps Taehyung sit up, feeling his body sway. "Woah, I got you.."
Taehyung felt dizzy when he got up, leaning heavily against Jin's broad shoulder. His stomach churned as soon as he was upright again, pushing up the toast from breakfast. "Hyu..hyung.."
"F*ck..Sh*t.." Yoongi quickly picks up the trash can from the floor when Taehyung burps, pushing up the sick. "It's okay.. you'll feel better once it's out.."
Taehyung hugs the trashcan as he empties his stomach into it with a loud retch, splashing sick into the plastic liner. Jin scratches lightly across his back, feeling his spine arch as his stomach pushes up thick bile.
"Taehyung.." Namjoon stops in the doorway, eyes widening when he sees how pale Taehyung became in such a short time. He thought he was doing better after he was asleep the whole car ride home without any problems, but he was foolish to think a short rest was enough to make a difference.
"Go get me a wet cloth and a bowl of water, please. His temperature is rising fast." Jin orders, Namjoon quickly leaving the room again. "It's okay, hyung will get you feeling better, just try to take deep breaths, okay?"
Taehyung goes to reply, but another wet burp comes instead, more sick filling the small bin. He presses the trash tighter against his stomach, trying to ease the pain with pressure. "It..it hurts.."
"I know baby.. I know.. you're doing so good.. you're almost done.." Jin encourages him gently, rubbing his palm up and down Taehyung’s sweaty back.
Yoongi holds Tae's bangs out of his face. "I'll get you a heat pack when you finish. It'll help with the pain.."
Namjoon returns to the room, giving Jin the wet cloth and placing the bowl on the side table. Jin thanks him, using it to wipe the sweat that was pooling on the back of Taehyung’s neck.
The amount of sick that came from Taehyung started to dwindle down,making the three older men start to relax as the younger took deep breaths, the tension in his shoulders ebbing away.
"I..I'm done.." Taes voice comes out as a hoarse whisper, loosening his grip on the bin. "Water...?"
"Here baby." Jin opens the water bottle for him. "Rinse out your mouth first then drink okay?"
Taehyung nods, taking in a mouthful of water and swishing it around a bit before spitting it out, trying to rid himself of the awful taste, then taking a few mouthfuls, cautious not to drink to much in fear of making himself sick once more.
"Can you swallow some medicine for me, Vuu?" Jin asks gently, rubbing his stomach.
"I think so.." Tae says hoarsely, accepting the medicine cup Yoongi offered him, swallowing it down quickly. "I'm sorry you had to see that.."
"Don't worry about it." Yoongi brushes off his apology. "Do you feel any better?"
"My throat and stomach hurt..and it's cold.. could I have the heat Yoongi-hyung..?" Taehyung asks, rubbing his hand across his sore stomach, muscles screaming in pain from the force of kicking everything out of it.
"Of course. I'll go get it." Yoongi leaves the room without hesitation. On his way to his room, he jumps at the sudden loud coughing coming from Jungkook "Are you okay, Jungkook?"
Jungkook made the 'okay' sign with his hand, continuing to cough into his blanket. Taehyungie-hyung was throwing up.. I can't distract them from taking care of him. Not for a cough.. I'll just take some medicine and go to bed early.. "I took a drink of water, and it went down wrong.." Jungkook says, pointing to the water bottle on the table.
Bullsh*t.. the lid is still on it.
Yoongi didn't call him out on it, though. He could worry about Jungkook later. Right now, he told Taehyung he would get him a heating pad to help his stomach. "Well, take some medicine just in case. Taehyungie is sick, and you were all over him yesterday."
"Okay Hyung."
Yoongi goes back on his quest, getting the item and returning to Taehyung ,plugging in the heating pad and placing it across Taehyung lower abdomen. "You can't use it for too long though, okay?"He says as a gentle reminder he couldn't take heat well.
Taehyung nods, the heat easing the pain away, his body relaxing"Thanks Hyung..that feels better.."
"Good..try to get some sleep, okay? Namjoon-ah." He motions for the rapper to lean closer."Go check up on Jungkookie, please? He was coughing really badly." Yoongi whispers by his ear, not wanting Taehyung to hear.
Namjoon nods,taking the medicine from the table and going to his room. "Tae is doing better. He was falling asleep when I left." He starts the conversation lightly. Jungkook had the awful habit of hiding his pain, not wanting to add more stress to the older members.
"Do you think we need to take him to a doctor?"
Namjoon could hear Jungkook holding back a cough.
"We'll see if the medicine helps. It might just be a stomach bug and he'll be okay in the morning. How about you? You were coughing a lot during practice. Are you feeling okay?"
"I just have a sore throat. My stomach doesn't hurt like Taehyungie-Hyungie, or do I feel feverish. I think I just overdid it." Jungkook tried negating his worries, down playing how he felt. He left out the pounding headache that he had all day and the fact that despite fact he hardly ate anything all day, the smell of Jimin and Hobi cooking in the kitchen made his stomach queasy "But Yoongi-hyung wants me to take medicine just in case.."
"Yeah he told me that, so I brought it with me." Namjoon feels the tension leave his shoulders when jungkook brings it up on his own, relieved he wouldn't have to fight with him to take it. He pours the younger the small cup of medicine, handing it to him
Jungkook takes it with a shaky hand, swallowing the medicine quickly hoping that Namjoon didn't notice.
"I'm tired, so I'm going to rest until dinner is finished. Its been a long week and its rare we get time to rest.." Namjoon says in hopes Jungkook would lay down and get the sleep he needs so he can recover and he falls for the trap.
"I'll lay down too. I'm a bit sleepy.." Jungkook lays down with a big yawn head hitting his makeshift pillow not taking more than a few minutes to fall asleep, snoring softly.
Namjoon gets up from his bed slowly, using the thermometer to confirm the low grade fever jumping back to avoid Jungkook coughing on him. "We're down two members.."
"Jaykay...jungkook-ah dinner is ready. Do you think you could eat?" Hobi goes into the room to check on him. Namjoon told him about his fever and that his cough became worse, but remembering the youngest vocalist only had one piece of toast with jam that morning made him unable to comfortably let him sleep.
"Mm..? Hoseok..ah..hyung..I'm not hungry.." Jungkook's voice sounded worse than earlier, coming out weak and scratchy. He was hardly awake, eyes not even open as he tried to turn him down.
"But you haven't eaten in twelve hours. Could you at least try to eat some soup?" Hobi tries encouraging him, gently running his hand up and down jungkook's side.
Jungkook stretches out, coughing into his arm. "Okay..okay..I'm up.." He could hear the worry in Hobi's voice and the older was right. He couldn't go to bed without eating something. What if I do have what Taehyungie-hyungie has? I don't want to throw up without anything in me..
Hobi helped Jungkook sit up, placing a tray of soup in front of him. "Do you want me to feed you?"
Jungkook tried to eat it on his own, but when he picked up the spoon the itch in his throat worsened, making him cough, spilling the soup onto the tray when it makes his chest rattle. Hobi quickly pulled the tray off.
"Aiish.. you scared me." Hobi sighs in relief when he sees none of the broth got on Jungkook.
"I'm.. I'm sorry.." Jungkook says between coughs.
"It's okay baby. It was an accident. I just didn't want it to spill on you. Let me do it. Okay?" J-hope feeds Jungkook bite by bite.
Meanwhile in another room, Jimin was helping with the second youngest, carrying a tray with him.
"I made you some soup. You don't have to eat it if you arent up to it though." Jimin says sympathically when he sees Taehyung was awake in his room, coughing Into the pillow he wrapped around.
"I don't know lf I can..but..I'll try.." Taehyung sits up slowly, closing his eyes when his head spins."If I don't eat I can't get better..and I feel awful.." He whines to himself, fighting against the dizziness.
"I know.. it's okay. Just a few bites for now okay?" Jimin scoops up some bean sprouts with the spoon, blowing on it before offering it to Taehyung.
Taehyung opens his mouth, taking in the bite, then another instantly regretting the second when he gags, having to force it back down with a hard swallow. He turns away from it, the smell of food making him feel worse. "No.. no.."
"Sh*t.. I'm sorry.. I'll take it away.. I'm sorry." Jimin quickly takes the bowl from the room. "Hyungie, Taehyung’s too sick for food.. His lips turned white after a couple bites, and he hardly forced it down.. what are we gonna do?"
"We'll get him some mineral water or something to replace food until his stomach settles. Why don't you go help Hoba? He didn't eat yet. He said he wanted to check on Jungkookie first." Jin heart sinks at the fact he couldn't even hold down soup, but didn't want Jimin knowing how worried he felt, quickly changing the subject.
"Alright. I'll go check on them." Jimin leaves to Jungkooks room relieved to see at least one of their patients eating. "Hobi-hyungie let me do it. You almost fainted at practice.. you need to eat."
"Oh..right.. I need to eat too." Hobi says, despite the fact he didn't feel hungry. It must be all the stress..
Hobi lied to himself. He refused to admit he was getting sick. Not when the two youngest were coughing up a storm and unable to eat. He leaves to the kitchen to get some kimchi Kongnamul guk.
"Oh good, you are eating. I was worried you'd be too busy caring for the others. I already had to force Jimin to sit and eat before seeing Voo." Jin smiles when he sees J-hope take a bite."
The warm broth soothed his sore throat, taking a few bites before talking. "What about Namjoonie and Yoongi-hyung?"
"Namjoon-ah said he wanted to sleep more and Yoongi went to the store." Jin explained. "I'll get Yoongi when he gets back and Namjoon when he wakes up. He's been working all nighters on the bonus track trying to make it usable before the album drop. I'm surprised he's not the one sick."
Hobi only eats half of the soup he put in the bowl, filling up quickly. The food felt uncomfortable in his stomach. "I'm finished. I'm gonna go lay down too. I want to get up early to help Joon with the song."
"Good idea. I wish I was better at songwriting so I could help." Jin admits. "Good luck."
Yoongi was a light sleeper, jolting awake when he hears the toliet seat smack against the porcelain bowl. "Aiigo..Taehyungie.." he rushed to the bathroom, slowing for a moment perplexed when he heard J-hope gagging, not Taehyung. "Hoba?"
It didn't matter which it was. He still opens the bathroom door, kneeling beside the ailing teammate. "It's okay, hyung is here.." Yoongi gently pulls Hobi's hair back with an elastic hair tie, rubbing his back.
Hobi goes to speak, but ends up burping up sick, eyes watering as the smell of his own Vomit sends his stomach whirling, pushing up mouthfuls of thick bile without breaks to breathe.
"Breathe Hoseok..you'll hurt yourself.." Yoongi urges Hobi. "Please try.."
Hobi tries to obey, but when he breaths in, his throat fills with sick, spraying it all over the toliet. He whimpers, head spinning making it hard to even keep sitting up right. "Hyung.." he whimpered, feeling himself sway despite his death grip around the toliet bowl. Yoongi wraps around him to keep him upright.
"I got you.. it's okay.." Yoongi could feel Hobi trembling in his arms as he pushes up everything he had left in his stomach, continuing to dry heave even after he had nothing left to give.
"Hoba..hoba...Hoseok-ah.... hey..you need to breathe.." Yoongi's voice was filled with panic when he feels Hobi get heavier in his arms. "Sh*t.. Hyungie! HYUNG..."
The sound of Yoongi's scream wakes up the house, Namjoon, Jin, Jimin and Taehyung rushing to see what was wrong.
"What happened Yoongi?" Jin is the first to ask, eyes widening when he sees Hobi Iimp in his arms.
"Hoba fainted.. he just..kept trying to throw up without taking a breath and then he just stopped.." Yoongi explains talking quickly, cradling the now unconscious Hobi in his arms as Hobi's body works overtime to catch up on oxygen it desperately needed.
"We can get him to a hospital if he doesn't wake up within a minute or two.. he probably just hyperventilated." Jin speaks calmly despite his heart thumping hard in his chest, eyes dilated in fear."Taehyungie, you should be in bed." Jin scolds him. "Jiminie, Joonie take him to bed. Me and Yoongi can handle this."
"No.. no let me stay until Hobi-hyung wakes up..I'm okay." Taehyung begs with tears filling his eye,ignoring the fact without the doorframe to lean on he wouldn't be able to stand. "Please..?"
"Tete..Tete, hyung.. is okay..i..I just.." Hobi tried to speak, but he was still struggling to catch his breath, continuing to pant with each word"Go..go..back.. to bed.. I'll..I'll come lay with you in a minute.." The last part came easier, sitting upright to help himself breathe easier.
"Are you sure you're okay Hoba?" Namjoon asks, looking over Hobi. "You still look pale."
"Yeah. I'm fine. I just..freaked out because I couldn't breathe which only made it worse..I'm sorry..I didn't mean to scare everyone.." Hobi bows his head, shakily making it to his feet. "I'm feeling better now.."
"I still think you should go to a hospital.." Yoongi speaks softly, breath still coming out strained.
Hobi hugs onto Yoongi. "I'm sorry I scared you.. I'm okay though. I feel sore, but I don't feel like I'll be sick anymore.."
"But what if it doesn't last? What if you do later?" Jimin frets, eyes widening with fear.
"If I do then I'll go.. until then I'll cuddle with Tete." Hobi smiles.

"Hyung .. are you okay? Do you need help?", he asks cautiously towards the oldest, that earlier has been cooking for their dinner in the kitchen. He looks tired—way too tired for someone that's just done cooking. If he looks closely, he even get to see beads of sweat forming around his forehead, dampening his already long dark brown locks. No—Jimin didn't actually need to assess that much, because there's an obvious one.
Jimin cocked his eyebrows as someone plops on the couch beside him, and the crease between his eyebrows getting deeper as he take a good look of his hyung.
Jin is wearing a quiet thick hoodie. While cooking. And it's not winter.
"Mhm .. i'm done with the cooking", Jin mumbles, not even moving from his position to talk to the younger. His eyes closed—burried under his arms that he thrown accross his face. "I just .. need to sit down. I'm tired"
Jimin hums, slowly closing his phone and put it on the table. He scoots closer. His hyung is definitely not looking good. "Are you feeling okay hyung?", he asks once again, but it's getting the same result—a low hum. "If you're tired, you can rest in your room hyung. The others still taking their time to arrive", he shrugs, leaning against the couch.
Jin perks up at that, before pushing himself up, "Mhm, i'm going to sleep for a minute .. call me when they arrived?"
"Sure hyung, sleep well", Jimin bids his goodbye as the older retreats up to his room. When he hears a soft click from his room, he opens his phone again. Brushing any thoughts that something is up with Jin—maybe he's really tired. They did a lot today if he digs it. Or maybe today is just one of his hyung's bad days ; everyone has it once in awhile.
Jimin shrugs, decides to let the older take as much moment of peace as he can before other 5 persons filling their space again.
***
"Where's Jin hyung?", Taehyung asks, as five of them starts hovering around the kitchen. They all arrived one by one an hour ago. All of them—except Jimin—still damp from shower and visibly hungry. Jimin perks up from the plate that he's setting on the table. "Oh, hyung is sleeping", he realizes, "Kook-ah, can you wake hyung up?"
"I will do it", Yoongi chimes in from the living room before the youngest can answer.
"Thank you hyung!"
If Yoongi can feel Namjoon and Hobi's knowing gaze and quiet snickers burning holes into his skull as he trudges upstairs, Yoongi gonna pretend it doesn't make his cheeks blasting a faint red.
"Hyung?", Yoongi knocks when he arrived at the door beside his room. It's silent.
"Hyung? Wake up", Yoongi tries again, "It's time for dinner, everyone is waiting hyung"
Silence.
Yoongi frowns. Seokjin is a light sleeper, so there's no way he doesn't wake up after 10 knocks straight on his wooden door. "Hyung?"
Additional 5 knocks, and he still meet with silence. Yoongi pushes his ear on the door—trying to detect any slightest hint of life there, but he meets with nothing. Not even the sound of air conditioner.
He frowns. Is Jimin messing up with him? What if Jin actually going somewhere and not in his room?
Yoongi sighs, knocking the door again, "Hyung? Are you there? Wake up", still silent, "Ah fuck it", he mumbles before turning the knob, "I'm going in hyung, you better not doing anythi—hyung?"
Yoongi grunts caught up on his throat as he meet with a pitch black room. It's quite warm in here as the air conditioner isn't on and the window definitely locked. But what surprised him the most is a big lump on the bed, that emmiting a low groan and shivers.
Yoongi quick on his feet, turning on the light—gaining an even louder groan as the lump moves, curling himself small. "Hyung .. are you okay?", he rushes to the bed, and tugging the blanket that engulfing the oldest up to the tip of his hair down.
"Fuck", he curses under his breath, as he sees Jin shivering—teeth clattering, his lips chapped, and his cheeks flushed. He's sweating under the thick blanket and hoodie—but he still looks cold as he tries to tug the blanket up again, "Hyung .. you have a fever. Gosh .. why don't you tell one of us if you're sick?", Yoongi rambles as his adrenaline spiked.
Jin groans at the sudden exposure to the cold and bright world. He's cold. Extremely cold. And his head hurts. "Cold ..", he groans, trying to tug the blanket up again and curls inside it until he feels better. "No shit you're burning up"
He hears someone grumbling. Jin wants to open his eyes and chatters whoever decided to turn on the light and peel the blanket away from him, but his eyes feels like it's weight a ton—he's too tired to do so. "Mhm ..", he mumbles instead, hoping that it would come accross as his protest. He hears someone pacing around before it's quiet again, and there's nothing holding his blanket down. So Jin takes the opportunity to hides himself again, his knees going up curling against his chest—trying to make himself as small as possible as everything hurts for him.
He feels awful. He knows he's going down with something—he means, after a month full of works from dawn to dawn again as he preparing for his solo .. it's definitely predictable that his body is going to crash. He already feel the telltale of it coming since yesterday, but brushing it off as a mere flu. It's only this afternoon things going downhill for him. He almost faint when he was cooking earlier. His fever has spiked up and the heat from the stove and pan around him act like a gaslight. He saves himself from an embarassing fainting accident as he quickly finish up everything and rushes to the couch when he feels cold sweats forming up inside his hoodie and there's black spots at his peripheral visions.
"Hyung?", his brain-rambling got cut off as someone tugged his blanket down—Again—and suddenly there's a cold hand pressed against his forehead. "Whaat .. ", he whines, actually feeling annoyed now. Can't he just sleep in peace?!
He vaguely hears someone—no, few someone .. murmuring around him.
"You're right hyung .. he's burning up"
"See? Fuck .. what should we do, Min?"
"Do you think we need to bring him to the hospital? Or we should call manager-nim and ask him to bring doctor?", then there's a groan, "I don't know hyung, you're the older one from us"
Min ..? Jimin? And is that Yoongi?
Jin moans as he shifts, wanting to see what's the commotion that makes him can't sleep in peace. His eyelids feels like weight a ton, and the roof is spinning when he opens his eyes. He squints, trying his best to get his consciousness together. "What are you guys doing here?", he croaks out, and it hurts. His mouth tastes funny and dry, and there's a throbbing pain on his temples like some people have slapped him a few times there.
He finally manages to open his eyes. It's pitch black and blurry.
"Hyung .. you're awake? How are you feeling?", Jimin asks, concern clearly visible in his voice. Jin tries to speak but can only grunt in response. "Like shit", he huffs, closing his eyes again as his room seems like it's spin harder and starts to make him nauseous. "My head hurts .. and my body feels cold", he adds, his words slurred. "think i caught something"
He feels someone patting his forehead. "You're running a fever, hyung", this time Yoongi chimes in, finally finding his voice to speak. "Have you eaten something hyung?"
The mention of putting something in his mouth making his stomach churn with nausea as he shakes his head. "Not since breakfast"
"Then let's get you some food, and then you can take some medicine to help your fever", Yoongi offers. There's rustle behind the younger before they heard footsteps rushing back down stairs. "We'll be back in a minute hyung", he says before Jin can argue.
After a few seconds, Jin hears loud chatter outside the room, and his nausea intensifies as he feels something wet dripping onto his side—he must've fallen asleep. He grimaces, surprised with the sudden temperature change. But the cloth on his forehead feels nice actually. "Ssshh .. it's just a cold cloth hyung, your fever is quite high. Yoongi hyung is preparing your food", Jimin says beside him, as he keeps smoothing the cool towel on the other's forehead. The action calms him a little bit, which is good, because his organs inside feels like it's on a race and working overdrive. Everything hurts and feel awful.
"I dont know if i can eat", Jin huffs, "I feel nauseous"
Jimin frowns, "Do you want to throw up hyung?"
"I don't know .. not yet i think", Jin shrugs , "I mean.. I guess. It feels really gross though. I feel like something is stuck in there", he pats his stomach with a wince. Before Jimin could say anything else, the door creaked open, and Yoongi steps inside carefully.
Smell of the food waft through the air. Jin gulps, already feeling full from it. "Hyung .. let's eat?"
"I'm not hungry", Jin answers truthfully, and Yoongi scoffs, "You're sick, you won't feel hungry hyung. Let's eat something, please"
Jin shakes his head.
Yoongi rolls his eyes, "Jimin-ah, help hyung sit up", he orders, gesturing Jimin who quickly helps the elder sitting up. Yoongi walks next to Jin and sits opposite the eldest on the edge of the bed.
"Do you want me to feed you?", Yoongi taunts, reaching for the spoon.
"Nope", Jin immediately denies with Jimin giggling beside him. "Just take a few bites hyung, you don't need to eat it all up", the younger teases as Jin huff, glaring at them as he grabs the spoon from Yoongi's hand.
It takes a few minutes to eat some of the food in front of him before his stomach protest. Jin closes his eyes as he slowly put his 5th bites down and take a big inhale.
"Hyung?", Yoongi calls him worried, watching his brother leans back, breathing heavily. And going paler by seconds, "Do you feel sick?"
Jin just nods, eyes fluttering shut as he clutches his blanket closer, tries to fight the urge to gag. He tries to swallow and force the vomit in his throat back down. But it's futile as a burp slips from him and his sense filled with what he just ate—the taste, the smell, the texture—he sucks a breath, flies his fist against his lips, "I'm going to puke"
"Shit", he hears Yoongi mutter behind him. And then, there are hands gripping his shoulders. "Jimin-ah, trashcan"
Jin 's mind goes foggy as nausea coccooned him like a heavy blanket. He feels like he's not in control of his own body. His ears ringing—but he still can hear the youngers panicked gasps when another gag, a deep and wet one, racked through him. "Jimin, quick!"
"Sshh .. hyung, here", Jimin's voices were barely audible as there's a faint weight on his lap. He feels a wave of nausea hit him hard—his stomach heave and bile came rushing out from the back of his mouth. Jin gasps, his head throbbing as he felt the warm liquid run down from his lips. A second later, he hears Jimin's soft voice beside him asking something, but he can barely register anything about it as he gags one more time and belches. His stomach muscles suddenly contract, heaving out more vomit. 4th bitss of food he manages to put in, come out in one big wave, adding a significant weight onto his lap.
"Gosh ..", he moans, "I feel so sick"
"It's okay hyung let it out", then he felt someone rub circles between his shoulder blades. "Do you want water?"
He shakes his head as he takes a deep breathe, preparing himself for the next round as he leans in and starts to retch, heaving out all whatever was left over from this morning or even the night before. It doesn't take much energy to bring everything up. "Oh... oh gosh...", he groans between heaves. His fingers digging into the blankets tightly as his whole body trembles from exertion.
"Breathe hyung ... you will feel better soon", Yoongi's words seem like they're coming from far away, muffled as he pants, still hugging the trashcan tightly.
"Drink ..", he croaks out , and he's pretty sure that his voice sounds hoarse and gravely. He watches as Jimin passes the straw from the bottle of water in his hand to his mouth. He drinks slowly, letting the water run down his dry throat. His headache seems like it's getting worse, and his body is sore, too.
"Done hyung?", Jimin asks as he hands the glass back to him. Jin shakes his head, huffing, as he rest his head against the pillow. He closes his eyes, focusing on the soothing touches against his skin rather than the turmoil inside his guts.
"I'm going to puke again", Jin whispers after few minutes of silence between them.
"Here", Yoongi suddenly speaks, pulling Jin forward, helping the older to sit up, "Don't worry, I'll hold the trashcan up"
"Okay", he puffs out before another round of gag taking over him. This round is shorter than the first one as his body seems like it's only need to reject the water he just took.
"Okay .. i'm done, i think", Jin sniffles, pushing the trashcan away as the smell filled his entire room. Yoongi nods, taking the trashcan away to the bathroom, while Jimin helping him laying down again. As soon as Jin lays flat on his back, Jimin climbs on top of him, wrapping a soft blanket around him and holding him close. "Are you alright?", he looks at him. And then Jin nods, his eyes closed again, still a little weak from being sick, and his body aching and tired from vomiting, but otherwise he's fine.
Jimin hums. "Do you want me to stay here with you?"
Another nod. Jimin smiles, immediately wraps an arm around Jin's body and pulls the older towards him, nuzzling into the crook of his neck. And just like that, Jin falls back into sleep.
Yoongi's eyes widen at the sight in front of him as he's back from the bathroom. "Is he sleeping?", he whispers at Jimin that makes eyecontact with him. Jimin nods, "Just let him hyung .. he must be tired", he replies quietly, "He can take his medicine later"
Yoongi sighs, sitting at the edge of the bed as he watches the half eaten food and medicine on the nightstand. "Okay, i can heat up the food later, or i will just bring him something light", he mumbles quietly. "His fever still high?"
Jimin chuckles nervously, "He is. I can feel it against my shirt"
Yoongi hums, taking the wet cloth again and wiping Jin's pale forehead gently before placing it on his forehead. The older sighs in relief, eyes still closed, relaxing into the touch. Unconsciously, Yoongi's lips curls up a little at that, "You're so whipped hyung", Jimin scoffs and earns himself a playful punch on his arm. "Ow!"
"Be quiet", Yoongi says before turning his attention back at Jin, "Keep the cloth, okay? If you need something, or when hyung wakes up, text me"
Jimin chuckles at that, "Get it hyung .. or you want to switch places with me?", he teases.
Yoongi rolls his eyes—but again, his face betrayed him. "No, i will not do that", he snatches the tray back from the nightstand, "But if you need anything just call for me okay, i'll be outside", he grunts before quickly closes the door, ignoring the little brat laughter from inside.
***
Jin didn't know how long he has been asleep—all that he know that his room still pitch black, no sign of sunlight, there's still quite lot of noises outside that means some of the members are still awake—it's not that late yet, and someone has been cuddling with him. He groans, stretching his body as much as he can as it feels sore all over. His joints and muscles feels like it's been tied to a knot, and his stomach been rumbling —that he can't differentiate if it's because of hunger or nausea.
Jin peels himself away, wanting to freshen himself up that's covered in sweat, and maybe make a warm tea to fill his stomach. He frowns when a cloth fall on his lap as he get up. He looks around and then meet with a bowl of water and Jimin that still sleep soundly beside him. It's all clicked then—with how his fever already going down too.
Jin smiles, trudging to the bathroom as quiet as he can to not wake up the younger on his bed. He deserves a little more sleep for taking care of him.
"Hyung! You're awake? Feeling better?", Jungkook chastises when Jin walks down the stairs. The youngest quickly rushes to his feet as he sees his hyung flatters on the last step. "Hyung .. slowly"
Jin sighs, "Thank you, Kook-ah .. hyung is fine. Still dizzy", he ruffles the grey hair, "Why are you not sleeping yet? Where's the other?"
"I was just done playing with Taehyungie, my brain still can't shut down yet", Jungkook shrugs, trailing behind the older as Jin walks into the kitchen. "You can sit hyung. You're still swaying on your feet", he chuckles, watching Jin rummaging through the cabinet. But there's a concern lacing on it. "What do you want?"
"Just a tea, please", Jin says before giving up and sits on the stool instead. "Coming right up", Jungkook turns around, running to the cabinet and pulling out a tea and sugar. It didn't take long before a warm cup serves in front of him. Jin wraps his palms around it, taking a sip of it. It's a sweetened green tea with honey and coconut milk. It warms his entire body up, sending shivers down his spine. He inhales deeply, closing his eyes.
"I got you some medicine", Jungkook says and holds up the small plastic pill container, shaking it lightly, "Yoongi hyung told me earlier to give it to you"
Jin scoffs, taking the pills in one swift motion—not letting his body reacts. "He's so stubborn"
"He's worried hyung", Jungkook giggles, "You should look at him when he knows you're sick"
Jin sighs, can't help the tip of his ears that reddened in instant. "I don't know what you're trying to say"
"Sure hyung", Jungkook grins.
They stay in silence for a while as Jin tries to finish his tea—and a slice of bread that Jungkook threatened for him to eat. "You can go to sleep, Kook-ah. Hyung will stay here a little longer", Jin says softly while reaching out his hand to pat Jungkook's legs as they lounge on the couch. "No", Jungkook protests, shaking his head to get rid off the sleepiness that starts getting on him. "I'm staying with you", he yawns, "I'm going to get more blankets"
Jin snorts softly, nodding as his gaze stays on the younger. Jungkook disappears upstairs to get some more blankets and pillows for Jin. After that, he goes back downstairs. "You don't want to go back to your room hyung? Sleep again? The medicine should make you sleepy", Jungkook chatters, yawning in between his words. Jin shakes his head in response as he bundled himself with blanket—he can feel the fever spiking up again. "Jimin is sleeping there, and i literally just woke up from hours of sleep", he chuckles, "I'm not sleepy yet"
"Mhm", Jungkook hums, "I can bring Jimin hyung out. One scoop and he's back to his room"
Jin laughs, nudging the younger with his toes, "He's your hyung!"
"But he's small! It's easy!"
"Jungkook!"
***
They have been lounging in the living room for an hour—Jungkook has loses his fight against his sleepiness a minutes ago, curling up on the other side of couch—when Jin feels nausea coming back. He groans, trying to ignore it with rubbing it slowly and taking a counted breath.
It only lasts for 5 minutes before he sits straight upright as his hands start trembling slightly; his throat closing up and a loud gag escapes his lips. He can taste liquid on the back of his throat. The sudden moves and noise made Jungkook stirs, squinting his eyes as he tries to adjust the light, "Hyung .. what? Are you okay?", he asks, sitting up too and rubbing his eyes. "Yeah.. i think i'm gonna throw up", Jin replies with a shaky voice before he quickly slaps his mouth as his stomach contracts to let out another gag.
As he stands up and wobbles towards the bathroom, he hears Jungkook calling after him but Jin doesn't answer—can't answer. The door slams close after a couple of steps and Jin closes himself inside the bathroom. He crouches over the bowl and without needing much energy, pukes pouring out of his lips. It's brown—literally the tea he takes earlier. Jin gasps, feeling himself choke on the vomit he just threw out of his mouth. Tears prickled at the corner of his eyes as soon as he felt another wave hitting him, throwing him further to the bowl.
"Hyung! Jin hyung .. let me in!", Jin can hear the door knob jiggling as the younger bangs his fist against it. But Jin can physically do anything as his stomach takes control. All he can hear is his own gagging and sounds of vomit hitting the water, and his focus is on emptying everything out. Suddenly, there's another weight pressed against his arched back, and few steps entering the bathroom.
"Jin .. breathe", A hand brushing his hair back, and another massaging his nape when he chokes out on particular harsh wave. "Ah ..", he moans when his stomach gives him a rest. He looks around through his glassy eyes.
"Joon-ah? .. Kook?", he slurs. It takes him a few seconds to realize that Jungkook is next to him, holding his shoulders, and Namjoon is handing him a glass of water. How did they get in?
"Jungkook was running to my room and wake me up. Luckily i was still reading, and .. the spare key did the job", Namjoon explains like he can read his mind .. or Jin suddenly voicing it out loud? He can't be so sure.
" 'm sorry .. just don't want you guys to see this .. it's—", Jin closes his eyes as wave floods him again, and lurch forward as his stomach heave up a second load of stomach acid, bile, and the remnants of the bread he ate earlier. After a few dry heaves, Jin wipes his mouth again and groans weakly, "It's so gross"
"You're sick .. it's normal hyung", Namjoon chuckles lowly, "Better?"
"Yeah .. i think i'm done", Jin peels himself away from the soiled toilet, letting Namjoon to do what he needs to do as he feels increasingly weak. "Kook, help Jin-hyung back to his room", Namjoon says suddenly after he's done cleaning up everything and helped the oldest rinses his mouth. It only gains a hum from the latter.
"Kook? You there?", Jin croaks out, wondering why the youngest that pressed against his body since earlier didn't say anything.
"Mhm ..", Jungkook hums, looking away from Jin.
Namjoon chuckles, "He's sca—"
"Namjoon hyung!", Jungkook hisses, "Let's get you back to bed hyung. Jimin hyung is up and waiting too", he grunts, helping Jin stand up. He can tell the elder can barely keep his balance even if he tries. Jungkook takes his time to steady Jin's weight while leading them to the bedroom.
"Kook?", Jin calls when he already settles on the bed after letting Jimin fussing over him. "What's wrong? Why are you suddenly quiet?" , he asks softly.
Jungkook doesn't reply, only averting his gaze elsewhere, fiddling with his fingers. It feels like an eternity before Jimin chimes in, "He was afraid hyung. You were suddenly get sick and lock the door at that", he smiles, ruffling Jungkook's.
"Jimin!"
"It's hyung you brat"
Jin stares at the pair, before burst into a giggle, "Ah .. you're worried about hyung?", he grins, "Want to cuddle the sickness out of hyung?", he teases further earning a glare from the latter.
"I'm going to sleep, bye hyung", Jungkook says and leaves the room quickly.
Jin laughs at that, but it cut off quickly when Jimin suddenly speaks as he pressed the newly wet cloth back to his forehead, "You can't tease him if you're just as red as him hyung"
Jin swats him away, "It's the fever!"

Namjoon Stress Fever
@bluepeacelove
God its been forever since i posted. I am so sorry it took so long. I haven't been able to write at all. I don't really like it, but I can't seen to make it any better. Sorry if you find this disappointing. Hopefully you'll be able to somewhat enjoy it. Thank you for requesting.
************************************************************************
“Joon-ah, come on open up.” Jin says knocking on Rkive’s door.
Namjoon opens the door and gets back to working.
“What is it, hyung?” Namjoon asks, eyes focused on the computer screen.
“Gosh, why is it so hot in here, any way, forget about that, just pack up Joonie, we’re going home.” Jin says
“Sorry Hyung, you go on ahead, I still have a lot of work to finish.” Namjoon says his eyes still focused on the screen and his fingers working on the keyboard.
“Namjoon, you haven’t been home in days, and it looks like you haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep forever. You need rest, otherwise you’re gonna get sick.” Jin says
"Hyung, I'm fine, besides I have too much work to finish. I don't have time to rest." Namjoon adds on still focusing on his work.
Jin comes next to him and takes the mouse from his hand saving his work and shutting off his computer.
"Hyung" Namjoon says protesting to what Jin is doing.
"No Namjoon, your health comes first, when was the last time you had a proper meal, or proper rest. I'm not gonna stand by and watch you neglect yourself. We can talk to the management and extend your deadlines. But right now we're going home. " Jin says
"But..." Namjoon says
"No buts, get up we're going home." Jin says holding his hand to get him up, but when he touches it he realizes it's hot.
Jin moves his hand up to touch Namjoon's forehead and gasps.
"Namjoon, you have a fever, see this is why I tell you not to overwork yourself, but since you didn't listen now you're sick. Come on let's get you home and resting." Jin says helping Namjoon up
Namjoon is reluctant for a bit but soon gives up to Jin's wishes knowing he is not gonna back down. And in all honesty, Namjoon himself knows he needs the rest. He feels like shit, his stomach hurts, his whole body aches, he has a terrible migraine and he feels way too cold. Now, it makes sense that he has been having all these symptoms since he has a fever.
Jin guides Namjoon to his car and drives him back to the dorm. But the moving car makes Namjoon's stomach feel queasy.
"Stop, the car hyung." Namjoon says putting his hand over his mouth.
"What?" Jin says but soon realizes what's going on so he stops the car.
Namjoon rushes out of the car and goes by a tree and starts heaving, but nothing more than some water and stomach acid comes up due to the lack of food in his body. Jin comes up behind him and starts rubbing his back.
After a while Namjoon stops and they go back to the car and Jin gives some water to Namjoon.
Namjoon drinks some water to get the taste of vomit out of his mouth.
"Thanks" Namjoon says
"Let's wait a bit for your stomach to settle and then we can go home." Jin adds helping Namjoon sit down in the passenger seat.
After a while they start to go home, and Namjoon tries to keep himself from throwing up and luckily he doesn't throw up again, however when he goes into the elevator to get to his apartment, his stomach starts going into knots, and he feels like throwing up.
As soon as the elevator stops he rushes towards the door and unlocks it and makes a run towards the bathroom where he starts throwing up again. The water he drank earlier came up and he continued to throw up even after there was nothing left in his stomach. Jin helps him get up takes him to the couch where the other members are waiting worried for their leader after he rushed in.
"Hyung are you okay?" Jimin asks sitting next to Namjoon on the couch.
"He's sick" Jin says
"Yoongi, can you please make some soup for him. We need to get some food into him. Jungkook can you get the thermometer, and Tae get some fever reducers and nauseau medicine. Hobi and Jimin-ah you guys stay here with him, I'll go with Yoongi to help make the soup." Jin lists of things for everyone to do.
"My poor Joonie" Hobi says sitting next to him and running his hands through his hair, Jimin brings a blanket and puts it over Namjoon to make him feel more comfortable and joins the other two on the sofa.
Everyone soon comes back, and Jungkook gives Namjoon the thermometer. After it beeps Jungkook takes it sees the tempreature.
"101.2 F, not too bad but still high." Jungkook says
Here Joonie eat the soup and then you can take the medicines.
"Thanks guys." Namjoon says and slowly starts eating the soup. After eating some he stops due to his nausea rising.
"Hyung just try to eat a bit more." Taehyung says.
"No, I'm done." Namjoon says relenting to eat more as he knows if he does he'll soon throw up.
"Fine Joonie, here take some medicine." Jimin says, when it was sure they couldn't convince Namjoon to finish his soup.
"Why don't you sleep and get some rest Namu, it'll help you feel better." Hoseok says.
Namjoon nods and get comfortable on the couch with his head in Hoseok's lap and Hobi runs his hand through his hair. Jin puts a bucket by his side just in case he needs it later.
Namjoon soon falls asleep and everyone starts doing their own things. Jin reading a book, Yoongi doing something on his laptop, Hoseok going through his phone while still running his hand through Namjoon's hair, and the maknaes playing a video game on the TV.
The maknaes get a bit excited and starts getting a little loud.
"Guys, Namjoon is sleeping chill out." Yoongi whispers trying to make the quite.
"Sorry hyung" Jimin says as the three of the quite down.
After some time Jungkook shouts, "Yah Taehyung stop cheating, if you do this I'm not gonna play with you anymore."
This startles Namjoon awake.
"Huh, what's happening." Namjoon says confused as he jumps up from his sleep.
"Its ok Joon-ah calm down go back to sleep" Hoseok say trying to get him to lay back down.
But he rushes forward taking the bucket Jin put in his hands and starts throwing up. The sudden movements and waking up making him nauseous.
Soon after he calms down and Hoseok helps him clean up a bit, before helping him lie down again. Jin takes the bucket and cleans it out, and glares at the maknae line for disturbing Namjoon.
The three maknaes look at each other and the floor feeling guilty about waking Namjoon up and cauing him to throw up. After a while Namjoon falls asleep again.
"Hobi, cover Joon-ah's ears." Jin whispers.
After Hoseok does it, Jin starts running after the Maknaes and shouting.
"WE TOLD YOU TO KEEP IT QUIET! Now look what you did you made poor Joonie get sick again. I swear to god you kids have no respect for your elders." Jin says
The maknaes running away from him and vehemently apologizing. While the other two members quietly laugh at their members shenanigans.

Too feverish to think + waking up puking
Fandom: BTS
Sickie: Yoongi
Caregivers: Jin & Namjoon
@monthofsick
TW: emeto, real person fiction
No one’s POV.:
Yoongi didn’t remember how many hours he had already spent at the studio. He had gone there right after their dance practice session, still wearing his sweaty practice clothes. That was also why he wasn’t all that surprised when he started to feel a little chilled. Putting on his hoodie, Yoongi used the cuff of his sleeve to wipe the sweat off his forehead. It was certainly weird to be sweating while goosebumps had spread down his arms but he didn’t think much of it. Producing didn’t come easy today either, the screen repeatedly blurring in front of his eyes. Maybe he should take a break. It had already been a long day, so it wasn’t all that shocking that he struggled to focus but Yoongi knew he had deadlines to meet, so it wasn’t all his choice.
He eventually accepted that he wouldn’t get much time for the time being, so he shakily got out of his chair and laid down on the small couch. His practice clothes stuck to his body but he couldn’t be bothered to change them. Maybe if he rested his eyes for a little while, the headache would go away and he could actually make some progress. Sure, the couch wasn’t the best option for Yoongi’s sore body but you take what you can get. A soft groan slipped from his lips when his head hit the cushion. Yeah, he really needed a nap.
When Yoongi woke up again, everything felt off. His vision was blurry and he barely managed to lift his head. There was a thumping pain behind his brow and a trickle of sweat ran from his temple. He needed water! Yoongi’s arms shook from the exertion when he pushed himself up, his vision going dark for a moment. Drawing a sharp breath, he swallowed down the nausea and got to his feet. Yoongi staggered to his desk and picked up the water bottle, only to realize he had emptied it earlier. Tears stung his eyes because his throat was so unbearably dry, he really needed a drink. He did have a few bottles in his mini fridge at the studio but goosebumps already pricked at his skin, so he knew having a cold drink would probably make him feel worse.
In the end, his thirst won and Yoongi uncapped one of the bottles, wincing at the cold condensation under his fingers. The first dew sips felt nice on his throat. So nice, in fact that he couldn’t stop himself from finishing the whole bottle despite the chill running down his spine. By the time Yoongi finished his drink, he was shivering incessantly and he could hear the water glugging in his stomach, the organ cramping painfully. He knew he shouldn’t have drank something so cold and especially not this much, the cold water not settling at all.
It didn’t take long for Yoongi to start shaking violently as the cramps morphed into nausea. The cold water had been a grave mistake and although his throat didn’t hurt anymore, it felt weird. Pushing away from the desk, he staggered to the door of his studio. For a moment, Yoongi weakly clung to the door frame in an attempt to regain his balance but with his stomach twisting angrily, he knew he had to hurry. Wincing as the bright ceiling lights aggravated his headache, he stumbled down the hallway and cursed the floor for moving under his feet. His hand trailing against the wall was barely enough to keep him upright as his ears started to ring. Yoongi felt his stomach gurgle and forced himself forward despite the ringing in his ears overtaking everything else and his vision growing fuzzy around the edges. His legs didn’t want to cooperate though and only a moment later, everything turned black.
Namjoon sighed as he exited the meeting he had had with their management. He was impressed how much people could talk about irrelevant things. Sure, he knew that a lot of work had to be done behind the scenes for their group to function and be successful but some of it felt unnecessary. Still, he wouldn’t miss it, who else would be there to advocate for his group? Namjoon was still deep in thought as he trudged to his studio and only noticed the crumpled figure in the hallway when he almost tripped over him. “Hyung?!”, the leader gasped, dropping to one knee next to Yoongi. Shaking the rapper’s arm, Namjoon eventually earned a weak groan. He startled when Yoongi shot up and tried to gently hold the older down, so he wouldn’t black out again. Harshly twisting to the side, Yoongi’s breath caught in his throat as a large wave of watery vomit gushed from his lips.
Though surprised, Namjoon wrapped his arm around Yoongi’s shoulders and steadied him as he choked up more. The rapper’s sleeve had taken the brunt of it, the soiled fabric clinging to his arm. Panting, Yoongi spat into the puddle but couldn’t get rid of the string of saliva dangling from his lips. “Hang on, I got you”, Namjoon shushed, pulling out a tissue. He carefully wiped the other’s lips and chin, humming: “You seemed okay during practice earlier. What happened since then?” The leader didn’t get any reaction and wasn’t sure Yoongi had heard him at all.
The rapper’s breath came in quick, little as his eyes filled with tears. So much was happening, yet his brain couldn’t keep up. His mind was so foggy and slow, he couldn’t comprehend why he was sitting in the hallway. All he knew was that he felt awful and his sleeve felt disgusting against his skin, which didn’t help the nausea at all. “Talk to me, hyung”, Namjoon frowned as he felt heat seep through Yoongi’s hoodie, needing increasingly more strength to keep the older upright, “What’s going on? You’re burning with fever.” Still unable to formulate a reply, Yoongi huffed a nauseous breath and forced himself to swallow the saliva pooling in his mouth.
Seeing that his inquiry wouldn’t go anywhere and he probably would get Yoongi to the bathroom by himself, Namjoon pulled out his phone and called Jin. Within only a couple of minutes, the eldest jogged down the hallway, heart racing at the pitiful state his oldest dongsaeng was in. Yoongi was still too feverish to think but dizzily stumbled along when Jin and Namjoon hoisted him to his feet and pulled him to the restroom. The rapper whimpered hoarsely as Jin stripped off his soiled hoodie, his sore muscles protesting the slightest movement. “You’ll be okay, Yoongi-ah”, the older shushed, settling Yoongi on the floor with his back against the wall, afraid his legs would give out and him hurting himself if he fell.
Namjoon had gone to get Yoongi some water and alert the cleaning staff, while Jin ran some paper towels under the tap to wipe off the other’s arm. When he was satisfied that he had cleaned Yoongi’s arm to the best of his ability, Jin soaked a fresh bunch of paper towels with cold water and pressed them to the rapper’s burning forehead. Sitting there shirtless, with a cold compress pressed to his face, Yoongi shivered violently but he didn’t want Jin to pull away. The headache was more bearable today with the cold paper towels on his forehead, so when the older removed them, he breathed: “No….” His hyung didn’t seem to get it, so he reached out a trembling hand. “Let me just run them under the tap again”, Jin whispered, cupping Yoongi’s flushed cheek, “Can you tell me how you feel?” – “I… don’t know”, the younger slurred, tongue feeling thick and heavy, “Awful… slow.” – “Yeah, you’re running a bad fever, so it’s probably hard to think right now”, Jin agreed and the rapper nodded in confirmation, immediately regretting the motion as it sent his head spinning.
“I still had a spare sweater at my studio, so the chills should hopefully ease up soon”, Namjoon announced as he entered the restroom. Uncapping the water bottle, he handed it to Yoongi, who cringed but forced down a few small sips. It helped his abused throat but only for a before he pitched forward with a retch. Clamping his hands over his paling lips, Yoongi shot Jin a panicked look, the older rushing to pass him the small waste bin. He choked up a few smaller waves, his stomach not tolerating the water in the slightest, before being reduced to dry heaves.
Namjoon draped some cold paper towels across the back of Yoongi’s neck, humming: “Let’s try that again later once your stomach calmed down a little.” – “How are we going to get him home?”, Jin asked quietly, “I also don’t really want him to be alone while he’s too feverish to think. If we talk to management and can convince them that I should take the day off too, so I can watch over him, I’ll take him back to my place for the time being.” – “He’s most definitely not going to stay alone”, the leader agreed. With the way he had found Yoongi, Namjoon wouldn’t take any risks.
While Namjoon called their manager, Jin replaced the cold compresses on Yoongi’s forehead and neck to hopefully lower his fever a bit. “You’ll come with me, okay? You’ve stayed in my guest bedroom before and I’d like to keep am eye on you”, Jin whispered as he played with Yoongi’s hair, “I’ll make you some tea and if you manage to keep down at least a few bites of plain rice, I can give you something for the fever. The haziness should clear up too once your temperature is down.” The younger could barely keep up with his hyung’s words but his voice was soothing and the fact that he sounded like he had a plan reassured the sick rapper. They had been friends for long enough for Yoongi to know Jin would take good care of him, so it was easy to give up responsibility to him, at least for the time being.
Jin kept his promise and brewed a pot of tea after tucking Yoongi in under a thin sheet. When he returned, he carried not only the tea but also an icepack wrapped in a tea towel. Yoongi sighed in relief when the icepack soothed his pounding headache and relaxed further into the mattress. “The rice will be done soon, just let me know when you feel like you can stomach it”, Jin smiled before fetching a bucket for safety reasons, knowing how guilty Yoongi would feel if he ended up making a mess. Stroking the rapper’s cheek, Jin whispered: “I’ll let you sleep. You look like you need it.”

Snowed In -- PART ONE
sooo excited to share this with you guys! this is part one of my collaboration with the incredibly talented @crystalsnow95z ! Please go check out her page too if you like this, her works are amazing!
Anyways, I'm really sorry for the delay, I've been super busy, but I hope you guys enjoy. This one is really long!
TW: Vomit, fever, sickness
~~~~~
"Woah, too fast! Too fast!" Taehyung squeals, holding onto Jungkook tighter afraid to go flying off the sled.
Jungkook is having the time of his life, giggling. "It's okay Hyungie."
Jimin flies past them. "Looks like I'll win!" He sings the words, teasing the others.
"No you won't!" Jungkook tries leaning forward to try to go faster, his competitive nature shining through.
Namjoon runs a hand through his hair, wishing he’d brought a hat.  It’s freezing and he was forced to sit here and watch all his members sled down a hill with no end in sight. He wished he just stayed behind, but he didn't want to make the others suspicious and ruin the trip.  How are they not freezing? It's only 10 degrees out. He takes a deep breath as his stomach cramps and watches as Yoongi and Seokjin come up the hill.
“You ok, Joon?” Seokjin asks.
“I’m cold, hyung,” Namjoon says, taking an opportunity to go home as the snow starts coming down harder.  “Can we go back?"
“...” Seokjin looks at Yoongi.
“You look sick,” Yoongi says.  “Did you eat anything today?”
Namjoon pauses.  The answer is no.  But he doesn’t want to stress anyone out if they find out he’s not feeling well.
“Of course, hyung.  On the plane, when you guys were asleep.”  Yoongi looks suspicious.
“What’d you eat?”
“A bagel.  Can we please go back?  It’s freezing.”  Namjoon watches the other members come up the hill holding their sleds.
Yoongi looks at the sky.  “It is snowing pretty hard.  Maybe we should head back to the cabin?”
Seokjin shrugs.  “That’s fine with me.  The wind seems to be picking up, too.”  Namjoon sighs in relief.  He was starting to feel really nauseous, and the cold wasn’t helping.  “I’ll go tell the others.”
—-
The cabin isn’t as peaceful as Namjoon had hoped.  In his and Jimin’s shared bedroom, there’s peace, but he can still hear the chatter in the living room and kitchen.  It smells like hot chocolate, which would usually be a great thing, but it’s making him want to throw up now.
His stomach clenched when he heard the door open, Jimin bringing a cup of cocoa into the room. "Hyung, I brought you some cocoa. I wish you would've told me sooner how cold you were.."
"I didn't want to ruin your fun." Namjoon forces himself not to react when Jimin shoves the cup into his hands.
"It'll help you warm up." Jimin smiles warmly.
"Thanks Jiminie…" Cocoa was the last thing he wanted. Namjoon takes a sip, instantly regretting it, his stomach nearly pushed to it's limit, the cramps getting worse. "I was going to take a nap.. I'm still feeling jet lagged from the trip." It took all the strength he had to keep his voice steady.
"Oh, alright then.. I'll let you sleep then. Rest well hyungie." Jimin eyes Namjoon, wondering if he was really okay. He didn't want to bother him though. Not if he wasn't feeling well. As soon as Jimin leaves the room and he hears his footsteps get farther away, he rushes to the bathroom connected to the room, dropping to his knees in front of the toilet, gripping it tightly.  He couldn’t bother to shut the door in his rush.  He breathes for a moment before he starts vomiting.  He can hear some faint yelling over his gagging, but can’t decipher what anyone is saying until a voice gets closer and he hears footsteps coming towards him.  He smells Taehyung’s cologne, and it makes him more nauseous.  He subconsciously pushes the younger away, but he’s too weak to move him anywhere.  Taehyung’s hands go to his back and hair, holding his bangs back and patting him comfortingly.  He hears another pair of footsteps come in the room.  Seokjin, who joins Taehyung on the floor next to their leader.  Namjoon finishes and flushes the toilet, exhausted.
“What happened, hyung?” Taehyung asks.  “How long have you been feeling sick?”
“A few hours…” Namjoon wipes the sweat off his forehead and accepts the cup of water Seokjin hands him, taking a sip.  It makes his stomach cramp instantly as soon as he swallows.
“You should get some rest.”  Seokjin holds out his hand to help Namjoon up, but Namjoon's stomach has other plans, already gagging out the water he just swallowed.
"Are you gonna be sick again?" Seojin asked with a worried expression. Namjoon shakes his head. I don't have the energy..
Seokin trusts his word, helping the youngest rapper to bed with Taehyung's help.
"I wish you told us before we went out.." Taehyung frowns as he watches Seojin strips off Namjoon's sweat soaked shirt.
"I didn't want to ruin everyone's day.." Namjoon says softly, shivering despite his rising fever. "It's cold hyung…"
"I know, I'll get you changed okay?" Seojin quickly goes into Namjoon's suitcase looking for something breathable to put him in.
Taehyung cuddles against Namjoon in the meantime to try to ease the chills, smoothing down his sweat soaked hair. "Hyungie you should know you're more important than some silly snow day."
Taehyung please.. I don't want to cuddle you right now.. Namjoon covers his face, stomach churning at the scent of Taehyung’s shirt.
Taehyung takes the hint, moving away from him, trying to hide his hurt expression. "I'm sorry Hyung.."
"Namjoon-ah just doesn't feel well right now, don't take it personally Tae.." Seojin gently redresses Namjoon, covering him up with just the top sheet.
"Is Namjoonie hyung okay?" The soft voice of Jimin is heard in the doorway, Jungkook peering over him.
"He'll be fine, don't come in, and take Taehyungie with you."
 "I just wanted to help Hyung.." Taehyung says looking down at his hands. But Namjoon doesn't even want me near him..
"You can help. Why don't you see if you can find any medicine?" Seokjin gives him a task to try to ease Namjoon's rejection.
"Alright."
The three youngest leave together, the room getting quiet again. "Try to get some sleep for now.." Seokjin traces small circles across Namjoon’s stomach.
"I don't know if I can..it hurts.." Namjoon groans softly as his stomach gurgles again.
"Just try for me okay?" Seokjin runs his fingers to Namjoon's hair. "What if I sing for you?"
"What..? I'm not a child.." Namjoon considered it for a split second before feeling embarrassed.
"I know.. but it might help you sleep."
Namjoon wondered if Seokjin was lying to make him more open to the idea or if it was true, but before he could ask Seokjin started singing softly to him, gently drawing shapes on his bloated middle the youngest rapper falling into a restless sleep.
"Hyungie I can't find any tummy medicine but I found pain pills for headache.." Jungkook entered the room, freezing in place when he sees Namjoon's eyes flutter open.
"Shh Jungkook.." Seokjin narrows his eyes, stroking Namjoon's back softly to try to get him back to sleep, but it was too late.
"Sh*t.. I'm sorry Hyungie.." Jungkook bows, guilt gnawing at his belly.
Namjoon groans in pain and Jungkook winces.  “Hyung,” he mumbles, looking at Seokjin.  “Hurts…”  His stomach is killing him.  He can’t remember having something like this before.  The pain is horrible.  Seokjin puts his hand over Namjoon’s stomach and rubs it lightly, but Namjoon pulls it away.  “Ahh…” he grimaces, frowning when he sees Jungkook.  “Jungkook-ah…” he mumbles before another cramp hits him, twisting his stomach and making him moan in pain again.
“I brought some headache medicine.  Does your head feel ok?” Jungkook asks cautiously.  Namjoon blows out a breath slowly, controlled.
“It hurts,” he says softly.  It’s not a terrible headache, but the pain in his stomach might get better with painkillers.
Jungkook approaches the bed and hands Namjoon two red pills, which he puts in his mouth and takes the glass of water from the bedside table and drinks it.  He instantly regrets it, feeling nausea rise up his throat.  He’s freezing cold again, which doesn’t help.
“You’re shivering, Joonie,” Seokjin says softly, putting his hand on Namjoon’s forehead.  “You’re burning up…”
“I’m freezing,” Namjoon says.  “I need more blankets.”
“We can’t do that, Namjoon,” Seokjin says.
“We can give him a hot bath so he can sweat the fever out,” Jungkook suggests.
“Does that work?” Seokjin asks.
“My mom used to do it for me,” Jungkook says.  Seokjin sighs.
“I don’t know if I want to risk it.  It could just make his fever way higher,” he says.
           "We have to try something.. we can take him out if it looks like he's doing worse.."
“Joonie, how does a hot bath sound?” Seokjin asks.  Namjoon nods.
“Let’s go,” Seokjin helps Namjoon up and to the bathroom, starting to run the water.  Namjoon leans against the wall with his arms across his stomach and eyes shut.  His stomach hurts so bad, and the nausea from taking the pills is getting worse.  He doesn’t know if this bath will upset his stomach more.  He’s too freezing cold to decline it though.  He’s shirtless and only wearing his pants and boxers, but he’s sweating like crazy.  He sits back and tries not to throw up for the time being until he hears Seokjin turn off the faucet.
“Stand up, Joonie, let’s take off your pants.”  Namjoon follows, standing shakily and placing a hand on the wall to hold himself from collapsing.  Seokjin gently pulls his pants off, leaving his boxers on.  Namjoon always prefers to be modest, even in a situation like this, Seokjin knows he’d rather keep his boxers on.  Seokjin guides the younger into the bathtub.  Namjoon visibly relaxes at the heat of it, but Seokjin can hear his stomach make an uncomfortable gurgling sound.  Namjoon places a hand over it and leans back against the edge of the bathtub.  He’s absolutely exhausted.  The hot water feels nice on his shivering body, but he’s worried it’ll make his temperature rise.  Seokjin cups water in his hand and gently pours it over Namjoon’s hair.  Namjoon jolts in surprise, his stomach gurgling audibly again, and his eyes fly open.  He looks nauseous again.  Seokjin strokes his hair.  “You’re okay, Joonie, he says.”  Namjoon shakes his head, panicked.
“Hyung–I’m gonna be sick.”
“Just breathe, Joonie,” Seokjin says.  “In…out…in…out…” Namjoon follows, relaxing a bit.  “Good job.  Just relax, I’ll wash your hair.”  Namjoon shivers visibly.  Seokjin puts a hand to the younger’s forehead.  “Sh*t…I knew it.  Your fever is getting worse.”
       Seokjin washes him up as quickly as possible, but he wasn't fast enough.
        Namjoon tried to warn him, his stomach forcing out the water he used to wash down the pills, covering his mouth to keep from getting sick in the water, desperately leaving the water to reach the toilet, soaking the floor in the process.
       "Sh*t..Namjoon-ah.." Seokjin wraps a towel around his shoulders, gently trying to dry him off as the pills he just swallowed come back up, splashing into the water.
      Namjoon continued to dry heave until more sick comes up, making his abdomen throb painfully.
       "You need to breathe..Namjoon.. take a deep breath for me."
        Namjoon takes a deep breath, then another, relaxing when the dry heaving dies down, just laying on the wet tile floor.
      "You need to get properly dried off." Seokjin urges, trying to get Namjoon to sit up, but Namjoon flinched away from the olders touch.
       "Just..just a minute..please…?" Namjoon's head was spinning, the nausea still swirling in the pit of his stomach.
       I knew it wasn't a good idea..Seokjin sighs, getting another towel to do his best to dry Namjoon without him moving, fluffing his hair against the towel.
       "I'm so tired…" Namjoon says between deep breaths, trying to keep his stomach under control.
        "I know. Let's get you to bed. Okay? You can't sleep here.." Seokjin once again gently pushes Namjoon to sit up, relieved when Namjoon doesn't fight against him.
        "Did it work?" Jungkook asks, his heart tightening when he sees Namjoon. Oh no.. I made it worse…
         Namjoon was hardly awake his cheeks flushed with fever shivering violently, Seokjin basically dragging him to the bed.
           "Find me clothes for him." Seokjin orders. "Please.."
            Jungkook ruffles through Namjoon's suitcase, pulling out a pair of sweats and a plain white t-shirt. "Here Hyung.."
          "Is..is there anything else I could…could do to help?" Jungkook felt his throat tightening, his emotions threatening to spill over.
          "No. I got it from here." Seokjin dismisses him, wishing that he didn't try his idea. He didn't want to take his frustration on the young maknae. All he wanted to do was help. One of the others will comfort him.
          Jungkook nods leaving the room.
          "Cold…" Namjoon mumbles as Seokjin takes off his wet undergarments.
           "I'll get you warmed up, just try to work with me for just a minute." Seokjin struggled to lift him enough to get the sweats on. "Namjoonie you aren't making this easy.."
              "I'm sorry.." Namjoon says softly, trying to help by holding himself up with one arm as Seokjin gets the shirt on him, only lasting a few seconds before another wave of dizziness washes over him, making his stomach woozy one more. "Hyung.. dizzy.." He softly moans.
           Seokjin stops what he's doing to hold Namjoon close to him, wincing when his bare skin touched his arm. "I got you, you're okay.. you're okay.." Seokjin strokes his damp hair.
             "Make it stop.." Namjoon whines softly.
             "I would if I could baby.. just bear it a little longer. It'll pass.." Seokjin speaks softly, running his hand down Namjoon's back lightly scratching.
Namjoon held onto Seokjin tightly until the feeling passes, collapsing into him when his body finally relents.
            "Are you okay Joon?" Seojin asked barely above a whisper, getting no response. "Namjoon?" He repeats a little louder, gently moving Namjoon away from his chest biting his lip when he sees the unconscious rapper in his arms, unsure on if Namjoon simply fell asleep, or if he fainted. I need to do something..
           Seokjin looks up home remedies for fever on his phone, willing to try anything to give at least a little relief to his leader. Luke warm water. I need to use luke warm water…
          He leaves the bed as quietly as possible, going to the bathroom to get a washcloth, using a cup to fill with water, returning to the bed, folding it neatly across Namjoon's forehead, jumping with Namjoon twitches.
           "Aiish.." He covers his mouth, not meaning to make a sound. Good..he's still out.. Seokjin sighs, refreshing the cloth everytime Namjoon's feverish skin made it warm again.
        I'll have to see if I can get him to drink water when he's up again.. Seokjin makes a mental note.
         "How is he?" Hoseok whispers, peeking into the room. "Jungkookie was really upset.."
           "I'm not sure.." Seokjin sighs. "Is Jungkook okay? I didn't mean to be so harsh on him. I'm just stressed out.”
            "Jiminie and Taehyungie are cheering him up. They were driving me up the wall with all their concerns. I'm glad they're distracted now.." Hoseok couldn't look at Namjoon. Seeing his members in pain broke his heart. "Is there anything I could do to help?"
              "He's sweating so much, he's going to dehydrate.. could you see if we have anything like vitamin water?"
“Sure.  I’ll be right back.”  Hoseok leaves the room and Seokjin brushes the blonde hair off Namjoon’s sweaty face.
“Joonie, wake up for me, please,” he says softly, patting Namjoon’s cheek gently.  Namjoon’s eyes flutter open and he groans in pain.
“Hyung…” he mumbles.  “It hurts…”
“I know, Joon.  Where does it hurt?”  Namjoon rips the towel off his forehead and turns to his side.
“Stomach…head…” Namjoon groans again and wraps his arms around his stomach.  Seokjin rubs his back gently.
“You’re okay, Joon.  You need to try and drink a little, or you’ll get dehydrated.”  Seokjin can already see Namjoon is sweating heavily again.  “Let me rub your stomach,” he says, placing a hand on Namjoon’s belly.
“No, hyung…” Namjoon mutters, pushing it away.
“What can I do to make you feel better?”
“Nothing,” Namjoon says.
“Can I hold you?” Seokjin asks.  Namjoon shakes his head furiously.  Seokjin feels useless.  He knows Namjoon isn’t a fan of physical affection, but usually when he’s sick he’ll tolerate it.  This is different though.  Seokjin hasn’t seen Namjoon this sick in a long time.  Seokjin sighs as he hears a whimper and sees a tear running down Namjoon’s cheek.  “You’re okay, Joonie,” he says softly, wiping the tear off Namjoon’s face with his sleeve.  Namjoon winces at the texture on his sensitive skin.
“Hyung…” he whines.
“Sorry, Joon,” Seokjin whispers, pressing a chaste kiss to Namjoon’s forehead.  He’s still burning hot from the fever.  “Can I put the wet towel back on you?” he asks, and Namjoon nods.  Seokjin gently places it back on the younger’s forehead, rubbing his back.  He feels bad for being snappy with Jungkook, but he’s frustrated at how much worse the maknae’s idea made Namjoon’s fever.  He doesn’t know what to do.
“Hyung?” Hoseok walks in with a bottle of Pocari Sweat.  “I have this…”
“Perfect, Hobi.  Thank you.”  Seokjin takes the bottle and hands it to Namjoon.  “Sit up, Joon.”  Namjoon weakly pulls himself up, moaning at the pain it causes.  He puts the bottle to his lips, slowly drinking the gel inside.  It tastes awful and makes him feel even more nauseous despite how nice it feels on his scratchy throat.  After emptying a quarter of the bottle, Namjoon hands it back to Seokjin.
“H-hyung,” Namjoon mumbles.
“What is it, Joonie?”
“I’m so cold…”
“Can I hold you?” Seokjin asks again, and this time, Namjoon nods.  Seokjin lays down next to Namjoon, pulling him close and rubbing his back slowly.
“Aish…you’re burning,” he says.  “I don’t know what to do with you.”
“Is there anything else you need?” Hoseok asks.
“We’re okay, Hobi.  Thank you.”
“Hobah..” Namjoon says.
“I’m here, Joonie,” he says.
Namjoon whines softly.  “Don’t go.”
“You…want me to stay?” Hoseok smiles, but Namjoon doesn’t respond.  Seokjin feels Namjoon’s body go limp in his arms, his breathe getting slower.
“He’s sleeping now,” Seokjin whispers, rubbing Namjoon’s back.
About 30 minutes pass by with Hoseok sitting on the chair in the corner and Seokjin cuddling Namjoon.  “What time is it, Hobi?” Seokjin asks.  Hoseok looks at his phone.
“It’s 6:00, hyung.  I’m really hungry,” Hoseok responds.
“Me too…”
“We should go have dinner,” Hoseok says.  Seokjin hesitates.
“I don’t wanna leave Joon here by himself…what if he wakes up and panics?”
“Hyung, he’s dead asleep.  We both need to eat.” Seokjin nods and pulls away from Namjoon slowly, being careful not to wake the leader.  The two go to the kitchen where they find that Taehyung has cooked dinner for them.
“How’s Namjoon-hyung?” Jungkook asks.  His eyes are red.  He’s been crying.
“He’s…he’s sleeping,” Seokjin says honestly.  “Jungkook…I’m sorry I was so harsh with you.”
Jungkook smiles.  “It’s okay, hyung.  I’ve already eaten.  I can go check on him,” he says.  Seokjin nods.
“Let me know if he’s doing bad again.”  Jungkook nods and walks over to Namjoon and Jimin’s room, sighing as he sees his leader shaking in his sleep.
           "I'm sorry Hyungie.." Jungkook whispers softly as he checks the cloth on his forehead, already warm again from Namjoon's feverish skin. I made it worse.. Jungkook sniffles, forcing his tears away. I don't have time to feel bad.. I need to do something..
         Jungkook wets the washcloth again, slowly running it over Namjoon's skin, wiping down his arm then across his exposed collar bone.
         "Mn…Hyung..cold…" Namjoon complains softly in his sleep voice coming out in a low husky tone.
          Jungkook stops in his tracks, putting it back in place on his forehead. I don't want to wake him up, but I can't just sit here and do nothing.. He sighs in frustration, gently playing with Namjoon’s soaked hair.  Namjoon’s face twists in discomfort and he rolls onto his side.  Jungkook can tell Namjoon is about to be sick by the sounds his stomach is making and how pale he’s getting.  He rubs the older’s back, hoping for it to maybe, just maybe go away after a few minutes.  Namjoon’s back is burning hot.  Jungkook wants to take his shirt off, or pull the blankets off, or something to help reduce his temperature.  He knows it’s his fault that Namjoon’s fever got even higher, and the guilt is killing him.
            He rubs Namjoon’s back comfortingly as he hears the leader groan in discomfort.  Namjoon’s eyes open, and Jungkook can tell he’s about to pass out, throw up, or both.
           "Hyung, do you need help up?" Jungkook asks in a small voice when he notices Namjoon sitting up, but he doesn't answer, trying to rush to the bathroom, staggering towards the bathroom.
          Jungkook tries to help, trying to grab his arm to help lead him, but Namjoon pushes him away.
           "No.. go.." Namjoon manages to force the words out hoarsely. He had already gotten sick in front of Taehyung. He wasn't going to add Jungkook to that list.
             Jungkook watches him shut the door, hearing Namjoon heaving from the other side of the door. I need to get Seokjin-hyungie.. He rushes into the kitchen where the older boys were eating.
           "Namjoonie-hyung is getting sick again. He shut me out, I need help!" Jungkook says without taking a breath. Seokjin went to get up from his half eaten meal, but Yoongi stops him.
            "I'll go. You eat. I'll handle it hyung." Yoongi rushes to the bathroom, going to Namjoon's side, rubbing his hand across Namjoon's back as he heaves.
             "Jun…Jungkook I said-" His words are cut off by another round of sick spilling into the bowl.
             "Namjoon-ah, it's me and I'm not leaving." Yoongi tells him firmly.
Namjoon relaxes a little, feeling comfort from Yoongi's presence. "It'll be over soon. Just try to breathe Namjoon."
Namjoon takes deep breaths between gags, collapsing against Yoongi as they die down.
           "Sh*t Namjoon, you're burning up.." Yoongi swears, grabbing for a piece of toliet paper to wipe across the edges of Namjoon's mouth. "I need you to drink some water for me Joon."
 Namjoon shakes his head. I don't want to throw up again.
            "I know it sucks, but you'll only get worse if you don't. Come on Namjoon.."
Yoongi gently props Namjoon against the bathtub, quickly moving to the sink to get a cup of water.
            "Yoongi-yah…no…" Namjoon argues when Yoongi puts the cup by his lips.
            "Namjoon please, just try." Yoongi tried to hide the desperation in his voice. It's been years since he's seen Namjoon this bad. "Just a sip."
Namjoon takes a few sips, washing the awful taste from his mouth and soothing his raw throat, but it already felt like a stone in his stomach, turning his head away.
"Good job Joon, that's all I wanted.."Yoongi gently pulls Namjoon to his feet, struggling to move him forward. Namjoon was hardly conscious, being mostly dead weight. "Stay with me a little longer okay?"
Namjoon tried his best to stay up, but he used the last of his energy. The older rapper just barely makes it to the bed before Namjoon stopped holding onto him, almost making both of them topple to the floor. "Fu*k Namjoon..you're heavy.."
Namjoon murmurs an apology. Yoongi takes off Namjoon's shirt, taking advantage of his lack of power to fight against him, finding the rag and wiping it across Namjoon's scorching back.
Namjoon had his eyes closed, but he didn't look anywhere near peaceful. His breathing was labored and his hand was still wrapped tightly around his lower abdomen, an upset gurgle coming from it the sips of water sitting uncomfortably in his stomach.
"Poor Joon-ah.."Yoongi whispers, wiping the cloth across Namjoon's shoulders, across the back of his neck then going down his arm. I need to get his fever down…
"Hyung..will you lay with me?" Yoongi jumps in surprise when he hears the hoarse whisper of Namjoon.
"Sh*t..you scared me.. i thought you were out.."
"I can't sleep.. it hurts.." Namjoon whines.
"I know, I know..Let me wash you up first, okay? I need to cool you down first. ." Yoongi does the best he can to wash off the sweat, his heart tightening when he sees Namjoon trembling, despite his high fever.
"It's cold.." Namjoon grabs onto Yoongi's wrist to stop him. "Please Hyungie.." Namjoon's voice comes out sounding much younger.
Yoongi stops in his tracks. "You're really sick Joon-ah.. Alright.. come here.." He takes a seat next to him, holding out his arms.
Namjoon cuddles up to him, Yoongi forcing himself not to flinch when he feels his hot skin brush against him. He's already sticking to me.. He couldn't recall the last time Namjoon cuddled up to him. He wasn't known for being the cuddly type like Taehyung or Jimin. It just made him worry more.
"It hurts Hyung.." Namjoon whimpers, clutching his stomach when another ripple of pain tears through his stomach.
Yoongi reaches slowly, rubbing his hand across Namjoon’s stomach to try to ease the pain, feeling it tightening underneath his palm.
Namjoon moans in time with a harsh cramp, and Yoongi shushes him.  “You're ok, shh, Joonie,” he says softly.
“Ahh…hurts…” he whines.  Yoongi presses down harder, trying to work out a cramp, and Namjoon curses under his breath.  “Hyung…f*ck, it hurts so much.”  Yoongi can see Namjoon starting to shiver.
“What should we do, Joonie?”
“Don’t know…” Namjoon sighs.  He’s too weak to even sit up.  His brain is foggy and he has no idea what would make him feel better.  The pain is getting worse every second and he’s not sure how much longer he’s going to be able to take this.  Barely anything works on his sensitive stomach.
“I can get some painkillers for you, Joonie, but I really don’t know what to do beyond that.”
“Get Jimin,” Namjoon says, his speech slurring.  Jimin always knows how to cuddle him just the right way when he’s sick, just the right sweet things to say to make him feel a little less miserable and get his spirits up a tiny bit.
         "Alright Namjoon." Yoongi gently escapes from the sick rapper, leaving to get Jimin.
         "What's wrong? Has he gotten worse?" Jin asks, ready to spring up to go back to Namjoon's side.
          "He has, but he wants Jimin.." Yoongi states.
           "What? He asked for me?" Jimin's eyes widen in surprise.
          "I think he just wants to be comforted. I'm not the best at that.." Yoongi scratches the back of his neck shyly. "I tried my best. It's your turn now."
Jimin gets a water bottle to take with him, hoping he could get him to drink at least a little bit."Hyungie, I'm here.."
            "Minah…" Namjoon's voice comes out soft, the first part of his name getting cut off by a whimper.
Jimin puts the water down, curling around Namjoon. I don't want to stress him out more. He wanted cuddles, that's what I'll give him. He's so hot though..
          "My poor Hyungie, it's okay.. It's okay.." Jimin runs his hand up and down Namjoon's side with his gentle touch, leaning his head on him. "We'll get you feeling better soon.."
Namjoon wasn't processing what Jimin was saying to him, but he enjoyed Jimin's soothing tone.
          "We'll think of something to make you feel better. Maybe we can find a good mix of herbal tea.." Jimin continues just saying sweet nothings, gently rubbing his face against Namjoon's cheek. He's hardly conscious.. Jimin bites the inside of his cheek, just barely letting his fingers brush against Namjoon's belly, smiling softly when he feels some of the tension in Namjoon's body let up. "That's it Hyungie, relax.. I'll still be here when you wake up, just try to sleep for now.."
Namjoon relaxes, and after some time, he falls asleep.
Jimin leaves when he sees that Namjoon is comfortably asleep, going into the living room and seeing all of the other members.
“How is he?” Seokjin asks.
“He’s asleep.  I think we should take him to the hospital, though.  He’s burning hot and in a lot of pain.”
“I don’t think we can, Jiminie…” Seokjin says.  “It’s a blizzard outside.  We can’t even see five feet out of the window.”
“And our cell phones aren’t working.” Jungkook frowns, empathizing his point by showing Jimin his phone.
           "We're lucky all this snow hasn't knocked the power out.." Yoongi adds in.
            "Yoongi-hyung, don't you jinx us!" Taehyung frets. "We're having enough trouble already.."
            "We have to think of something.."  J-hope sighs in frustration.
             "We're doing all we can. At least he's sleeping.." Seokjin looks around the room at the members. I have to do something. Everyone's stressed..
               "Maybe, maybe we can go out on our own. If we drive really really slowly. It's better than just sitting around watching him slowly get worse." Jungkook whines desperately, staring at the flurry of snowflakes out the window.
               "You know we can't do that.." Seokjin tries to comfort Jungkook, but be jerked away from his touch.
"But Namjoonie-hyung needs medicine..he's burning up with fever and he can't even sleep with his stomach constantly making him feel sick. We have to try!" Jungkook says with frustration, clenching his fists together. "We can't just do nothing!"
"We're doing all we can, there's no way we can drive in that storm. You can't even see the trees right outside the window. It's too dangerous Koo." Jin tries to calm Jungkook by stroking his hair, this time accepting his touch. Jungkook sighs, taking a few breaths to calm himself.
"What if we walk?" Jungkook looks hopelessly at Jin, already knowing the answer, tears swelling up.
"No way." Yoongi answers for Jin. "Are you trying to get lost in this mess? The nearest town is miles away. You'll end up with hypothermia before you even get halfway."
The boys stop their arguing when they hear Namjoon heaving again, Jin rushing back into the bathroom, kneeling beside Namjoon who had his head in the toliet bowl. "Namjoon-ah, it's okay..it's okay.. Hyung is here." Jin rubs his back and Namjoon spits into the toilet, only saliva coming up. Hyung, make it stop, it hurts so much.. Namjoon couldn't get the words out, only a small whimper coming as he holds his sore middle, his muscles finally pushing up acid, burning his throat.
"I know, I know, just try to breathe for me okay?" Jin scratches his nails lightly across Namjoon’s back.  Namjoon tries, but he’s too distressed to breathe properly.  Namjoon gags empty, whimpering.
“It hurts,” he says softly.
“Shh…I know, Joon.  You’ll be okay.  I’m here.  I’ll keep you safe.”  Namjoon finds comfort in that, calming down a bit.  Seokjin puts his hand on Namjoon’s forehead.  Sh*t.  You’re even hotter than before.  I don’t know what to do…” he says softly.  “We might have to give you a cold bath.”
“No…” Namjoon says.  “Please, no…”
Seokjin is about to say something, but suddenly, the lights start flickering.
“Hyung?” Namjoon’s voice is deep, but he sounds scared.  The lights shut off, and Seokjin can’t hold back a curse under his breath.  He hears footsteps come to the bathroom and Yoongi shines his phone’s flashlight at them.  “Sh*t…you guys too?”  Namjoon winces at the light and Seokjin nods.
“There’s some candles in the kitchen…” Taehyung comes up behind Yoongi.  Namjoon turns away from the light.  His head is hurting again, the bright lights not helping.
“Let’s get him to bed,” Seokjin says.  Taehyung comes over and helps Namjoon up, the two of them bringing Namjoon to his bed with Yoongi behind him.  Namjoon instantly rolls to his side, completely exhausted and still feeling nauseous.  Taehyung lays next to him and rubs his hand up and down his hyung’s burning back.  Namjoon sighs at the feeling of Taehyung’s hand.  It feels nice, but he’s still not comfortable with his stomach rolling and head pounding.
“Do we have medicine?” Yoongi asks Seokjin.
“Namjoon might have some Ibuprofen,” he says.  “For his migraines.”  Namjoon shakes his head hard.
“I’m not taking anything…my stomach is killing me.”  Taehyung puts his hand on Namjoon’s stomach, feeling it tense and cramp every few seconds.  “Poor hyungie…” he says softly, rubbing gently.  Namjoon seems to relax at the touch, breathing more slowly.
“Your fever is gonna make you worse, Joonie.  You could pass out.  Or start hallucinating,” Seokjin says.  “Just try to take some and don’t throw up for an hour or so and you’ll start feeling better.”  Namjoon doesn’t want to.  He doesn’t want to faint or start hallucinating, but he really doesn’t want to throw up again.  Everything hurts and he’s exhausted, but he can’t sleep with how uncomfortable he is.
“Please, Joonie-hyung,” Taehyung says, and Namjoon shakes his head.  Jungkook comes into the room with two lit candles and places them on the dresser.  “What’s going on?” he asks.
“We’re trying to get Namjoon to take some medicine but he won’t..” Yoongi says.  Jungkook frowns in sympathy, then sits on the bed facing namjoon, running a hand through his sweaty hair.
“Can you please try to take a little, hyung?” Jungkook asks, looking at Namjoon with round worried eyes.  “You’ll feel better if you do.”  He knows Namjoon and his soft spot can’t say no to him, even when he’s feeling like this.
Namjoon sighs. I can't say no when he looks at me like that.. "Alright..I'll try.."
Seokjin brightens up, quickly getting medicine from the bottle before he changes his mind. "Here Joon." He places the pill on Namjoon's tongue, quickly getting him a sip of water to help swallow it down. Please just drink a little more…
Namjoon takes a few mouthfuls of water before turning away from his eldest hyung."No more.."
"That's okay, you did good.." Taehyung smiles softly, gently rubbing his fingertips across Namjoon's cramping stomach.
"Thank you hyung." Jungkook says softly.
"I'm so tired.." Namjoon says in a hoarse whisper.
"Then we'll let you sleep.. Do you want me to take Taehyungie with us?" Seokjin asks, ready to remove the clingy vocalist but Namjoon shakes his head, still feeling guilty for how he treated him earlier.
"He's okay.."
"Get me if there's any change Tae. Take care of him." Seokjin gathered up the others and leaves the two alone.
Namjoon slowly started to drift off, his migraine becoming more manageable. Taehyung was humming as soft as he could as he continues to make feather light touches on Namjoon’s cramping belly.
Taehyung stops when he hears Namjoon start to snore. He's finally asleep, but for how long? He uses his sleeve to try to wipe some of the sweat off of Namjoon's brow. He's still sweating..
Taehyung reaches for the wet cloth slowly, fearful that the slightest wrong move would wake him, just barely grabbing it from the tag, wiping it gently over Namjoon’s body.
Just when Taehyung thought Namjoon was finally starting to recover, he felt his muscles tensing up again, the older quickly sitting up. "Taehyung.." His voice came out as a pained groan as another wave of nausea hits like a tidal wave, making him gag, mouth filling with hot sick, his cheeks puffing out.
 "Hyung hold on I'll get-" Taehyung was too late, as he rushed to get the waste bin from the floor Namjoon had already started trying to scramble over him as his body pushes up more sick than he could hold down getting it on Taehyung, the side of the bed, then finally the bin on the floor, trying to prop himself up by his elbows. The pressure he was putting on his own stomach only worsened the pain, causing tears to run down his cheeks.
"Oh no Hyung.." Taehyung runs his hand down Namjoon's spine, feeling it arch as he continues to heave.
"Se-seokjinnie-hyung!" Taehyung yells coming out shaky with panic. "Yoongi-h-hyung!"
The two eldest run into the room Yoongi slowly lifting the bin from the floor keeping it by Namjoon’s face as Seokjin helped him sit up again. "Aiigo Namjoon-ah.. you're okay, you're okay.."
"N..no.." Namjoon sobs, all the stress on his body catching up with him. "I..i..can't do..do..ev..ev…" Another heave comes, cutting him off, only adding to his frustration causing even more tears to flow.  Seokjin rubs his back gently.
“You’re okay…”  Namjoon wipes his eyes and leans back.
“What happened, Taehyung?” Yoongi asks, taking the bin from Namjoon.
“He just woke up like this…and started vomiting.  I have no idea what happened.”  Seokjin uses a tissue from the side table to wipe Namjoon’s forehead from sweat.
“You’re burning hot, Joonie…we’re gonna have to give you a cold bath…”
Namjoon shakes his head.  “Please…no…I’m freezing…” Namjoon’s eyes look glassy and his usually tan skin is pale.
Seokjin glances at Yoongi, who shrugs.  “I think we have to…”
Going Home Early
Prompt: Hoseok goes home far earlier than expected from work, where his confusion becomes everyone else's confusion.
Sickie: Hoseok Caretaker:  Yoongi Content: emeto, fever, nausea, disoriented, m/m
The last thing Yoongi expected at eleven that morning was for Hoseok to return home. It was their average Tuesday, with Yoongi working on some music for the label he wanted to turn in later that week, and Hoseok heading to catch up on paperwork before the youth dance classes that afternoon. Hoseok had woken up worse for wear according to Yoongi, but he said he was fine, so Yoongi made him coffee and left him at it. He’d barely gotten into the groove of a solid EDM beat before the door to the studio in their apartment opened, and the light of the hall behind him had him turning around.
Just who…
“Seokseok-ah?” Yoongi called softly.
Hoseok looked dazed as he made his way over to Yoongi’s mini-fridge, squatting in front of it. He opened the door and glanced around, but his brows furrowed as he scanned the waters and beers Yoongi stashed in there. Glancing at his face in the dim lighting, he could catch a faint sheen to his skin, his bangs already a little damp with sweat. But his studio was usually cold, and it wasn’t a particularly warm day, so it had Yoongi raising his eyebrows.
“It’s not here…” Hoseok mumbled. After a second, Hoseok turned to his boyfriend, who flipped on the desk light. With better lighting, Yoongi could see an almost glassy look in Hoseok’s eyes too. “Yoongi, darling… you don’t have it in here?”
“Have… what in there?” Yoongi questioned him.
Hoseok stared at him for a moment, brows furrowed as if he was concerned Yoongi didn’t just know what he was talking about. But then he gestured to the fridge and said, “face cream.”
“Face… cream?”
With a loud huff, obviously frustrated, Hoseok rose to his feet and left the room. Yoongi let a second pass, then another… but something was completely off about the dancer’s entire demeanor. Yoongi just jumped from his chair and hurried after him, catching Hoseok staring at the pantry in the kitchen, as if deep in thought. It was bright enough in the living room that they didn’t need to turn on the overhead lights, and the natural sunlight brought out the deep flush on Hoseok’s cheeks. His pallor seemed completely off, and he had to be sick. Frowning more, Yoongi pressed his palm over his cheek, feeling the heat rolling off Hoseok in waves.
“Hobi…”
“Yoongi, I can’t find my face cream. I checked under the juice, it’s not there.”
“Honey, you’re not making any sense. Why would it be in the kitchen? Or… does it need to be refrigerated?”
“No, you melt it.”
Hoseok’s hand pushed Yoongi’s away and the man looked further in the pantry. His hands shook as he pushed aside a bag of chips and pulled out a ramen pack, examining it closely. Or under some sort of scrutiny, as Hoseok had begun to glare at it. He pushed it back into the pantry and moved his hands in again.
“Yoongi-yah, if you’re not going to help me find it, why are you just standing there?” Hoseok complained. But after a moment, he lurched forward, a harsh cough erupting from his mouth. Not even having time to move his hands away, he merely turned his head downward and coughed again. Yoongi’s hand immediately moved to Hoseok’s back, patting his back roughly in hopes of shaking loose whatever phlegm choked him up. As Hoseok finally caught his breath, his he moved back from the pantry, and Yoongi gently moved him over to the kitchen table trying to urge him to sit. Hoseok fought him, albeit extremely weakly, one hand rubbing at his chest while his other tried to shoo the smaller musician away.
Yoongi just moved his cooled hands to Hoseok’s cheeks, thumbs gently stroking underneath his eyes. He turned Hoseok to face him, finally meeting his eyes.
“Seokseok-ah, baby, look at me.” When Yoongi spoke, his voice was low and soft, rather soothing. His lazy time bedroom voice, Hoseok had called it once, something he always seemed to drop into when someone had a bad day and sought out his comfort. Hoseok blinked, but he stopped trying to struggle. “Honey, you’re not making any sense,” Yoongi explained.
Hoseok almost crumbled. His frown grew more intense, his eyes almost welling with tears. Yoongi shushed him softly, thumbs still brushing at his cheeks. “It’s okay, baby, it’s okay. Don’t be upset. You’re just really sick, okay?”
With a small whine, Hoseok nodded. “Explains some stuff…” he mumbles. Things, to Hoseok, make a little more sense now, Yoongi can see it in the slow realization growing on his younger boyfriend’s face. Hoseok immediately looks upset, so Yoongi pulls him in, placing a kiss on his forehead before hugging him closely.
“Let’s go to back to bedroom, Seokseok. Put on some comfy clothes, hmm?” As he spoke, he ran his hand down Hoseok’s spine, listening as his shaky breathing stabilized and grew more slowly. But he couldn’t fall asleep standing up, certainly not. So Yoongi stops, pulling Hoseok back by his shoulders, and begins to lead him back up towards the bedroom. It took some shuffling, Hoseok barely moving his legs and consistently pausing to ask Yoongi about skincare products, but he managed to get his boyfriend seated on the bed. Hoseok was almost like putty, with no fight in him as Yoongi helped him shrug out of his jacket and then pulled his long-sleeved tee off, leaving him in just his undershirt. He cooperated as Yoongi pulled his shoes and then wiggled his jeans from his hips, letting out a small laugh when Yoongi grumbled about ‘unsexy conditions’.
“We can still have sex, I really like having sexy conditions,” Hoseok mumbled, his leg lifting to drop on Yoongi’s arm. Yoongi just laughed, moving his hand over to massage Hoseok’s calf, grinning as Hoseok’s face melted into a pleased, lazy smile. Absolutely like putty.
“Maybe when you’re feeling better. Nap first.” Maybe if Hoseok was lucid by tomorrow, Yoongi would tell him what he said to embarrass him.  Instead, with another kiss to Hoseok’s cheek, he slipped away into the bathroom to fetch the thermometer, returning to slip it into Hoseok’s mouth. The younger man waited patiently for the device to beep, eyelids blinking heavily, and Yoongi frowned as he watched the numbers slowly climb. His heart sank once he watched it move over 38°C. Finally it beeped and Yoongi pulled it from his lips to confirm a 39.5°. That was absolutely no good.
“Come on, Seokseok, let’s lay down, okay?” Yoongi mumbled to him, pulling him to his feet. Hoseok whined at the movement, face scrunching in discomfort at having to move. But Yoongi went slowly, a hand across his shoulders, leading him almost as if he was made of glass. With Hoseok’s condition as it was, he may as well be. Yoongi walked the dancer over to the side of the bed and yanked back the quilt, helping him lay down to rest his head on his pillows. Once he made sure Hoseok was comfortable, which included assuring him he’d definitely go look for the damned face cream, he gave him another pillow to hug and pulled the light blanket over him. Hoseok barely laid down for a minute before he’d already fallen asleep. That would make things easier for him.
With a sigh, Yoongi immediately got to work.
~+~
Thankfully, they seemed to be stocked, he’d discovered during an inventory check in the bathroom. The medicine cabinet always had painkillers and bandages, a side-effect of being in Hoseok’s profession, but Hoseok had also purchased a small pack of cold and flu tablets, cough syrup, and allergy medication for the spring months. And, a gem—a package of cooling gel patches. Yoongi wasted no time in hurrying to place one on Hoseok’s forehead, whispering soft apologies as Hoseok whined at the temperature difference. He moved once his boyfriend quieted down again, going back to read the labels on what he figured they’d need.
He then moved to the kitchen, pulling out the leftover juk from yesterday’s breakfast and immediately heated a small bowl. He doubted his boyfriend would eat much, but it was worth trying since he’d skipped breakfast when he left just a few hours earlier. How had Hoseok’s condition gotten so bad so quickly? He must have been feverish when he left that morning, but even in his sleepy haze he seemed plenty aware. Maybe his fever spiked from dancing… He knows his boyfriend is known for pushing himself. As he stirs the warmth from the stove back into the cool broth, he pulls out his phone and makes a quick call to their long-time friend, and Hoseok’s favorite coworker.
Park Jimin answers his phone with a sigh of relief. “Yoongi-hyung, thank goodness! Hob-ah made it home okay? He didn’t answer my texts!”
Yoongi wasn’t even sure if Hoseok had his phone. “He’s back, but he’s delirious with a fever that high,” he mumbled.
Jimin sighed. “I knew I should’ve taken him home… He said he’d be okay, he just said it was low. I’m never trusting him again!” When Yoongi heard a stomp echo in the background, he couldn’t hold back a laugh. Jimin probably stomped his shoes in one of the empty dance halls; Yoongi had seen him do it enough times, often far too childish and absolutely hilarious, and he couldn’t help but laugh over it. It seemed to relieve the tension if anything. “Well, I’m glad he made it home safely. He didn’t seem to be that bad off when he left, just his headache… Just take care of him? I’ll come visit tonight.”
“Okay, okay. I’ll go down and make sure he at least parked in a real spot… What time did he leave the studio?”
“Uh… around nine? He really wasn’t here that long before I kicked him out.”
“Nine? But it doesn’t take two hours—”
Jimin and Yoongi both seemed to have the same realization at the same time. Hoseok’s dance studio wasn’t far from their apartment, around thirty minutes on foot. Sometimes on warm weather days, Hoseok would jog over as his warm-up or walk to one of the nearby coffee shops and take a bus home. Since it’s been chilly, it would have only been a five-minute drive. Yoongi turned down the stove and hurried over to where his boyfriend abandoned his jacket, searching the pockets for Hoseok’s car keys. All the while, he could hear Jimin’s quick huffs as the younger dancer ran outside. When Yoongi didn’t find anything in the pockets but Hoseok’s phone, he hurried over to the clothes to check—
“Hyung, his car is still parked out here.”
“Can you find his keys?”
Jimin sighed as he checked around the car, but soon Yoongi heard him mumble, “Not here, not inside either.” Then, a little louder, “I’ll check inside. They may still be in his office. Did he bring his bag?”
Now that Jimin mentioned it… “He didn’t.”
“Aish, this idiot. Well, I’ll let you know if they turn up here. See you later, okay?”
“Mm. Thanks, Minnie.”
Yoongi returned to the stove and picked up the spoon again, stirring the juk once again. He filled a bowl, grabbed a water bottle, and grabbed an ice pack and headed to the bedroom. Hoseok hasn’t so much as turned since Yoongi had tucked him in. Yoongi just set the items on the bedside table and shook his boyfriend’s shoulder to rouse him.
“Seok-ah, come eat some juk,” he coaxed gently.
Hoseok’s face scrunched in discomfort, and he shook his head. “No… ‘m nauseous,” he mumbled. “Just ‘unna sleep.”
“You’re nauseous?” Yoongi pressed a hand to Hoseok’s neck. “You didn’t eat at all this morning, right? That’s probably why…”
Hoseok barely grumbled in response. But he needed to eat something to take the medicine, or he’d regret it later. Yoongi sighed, patting his shoulder again. “Come on, just a little juk. It’ll help.”
Hoseok whined again, but opened his mouth, as if expecting Yoongi to feed him as he was. Yoongi laughed. “You gotta sit up or you’ll choke, Seokseok.”
“Hyungie, no…” Hoseok whined. He brought an arm to rest over his eyes and just frowned. Yoongi wasn’t going to give him a break, given the gentle patting, but he smiled when he felt Yoongi’s lips press on his cheek.
“Come on, Seokseok-ah… Juk is warm, got chicken in it.”
“I’m gonna throw it up.” Hoseok whimpered at the idea. But he nodded gently at Yoongi’s coaxing and lets the older man pull him to slouch against his shoulder. He leaned forward as Yoongi leaned, and his head almost dropped forward.
Yoongi sighed and grabbed the bowl and spoon. “We’ll try just a little, okay?”
“Just… just a little. Okay.”
Yoongi moved slowly and began to spoon feed Hoseok, giving his boyfriend ample time between bites to slowly chew the soft rice. Hoseok seemed to be enjoying it, opening his mouth first after a few bites before Yoongi managed to scoop the spoonful. Around a third of the way in, Hoseok shook his head, turning his face into Yoongi’s shoulder. Pressing a kiss to his temple, Hoseok smiled. “You did so well, baby. Now, ready to take medicine?”
“Noooo,” Hoseok whined.
With a soft laugh, Yoongi replaced the bowl and instead reached for the water bottle and the tablets, pulling them from the pack. He tapped Hoseok’s cheek, and Hoseok merely opened his mouth.
“They’re going to be bitter on your tongue…”
“It’s okay,” he mumbled.
Yoongi set the pills against his boyfriend’s tongue and lifted the water bottle to his lips, letting him take a cool sip. Hoseok took a second before lifting his mouth, moving his face away. He then went absolutely pale, cheeks puffing as he took a breath. Yoongi didn’t even have time to move, startled that Hoseok was about to throw up on everything—but he soon let out a heavy burp and sighed in relief.
Oh, good.
Yoongi helped lower the dancer back onto the bed and covered him with the blanket again. “Rest, okay baby?”
Humming, Hoseok was quick to fall asleep again. Yoongi took the time to wipe his face and neck with a cold washcloth, whispering soft apologies as he noticed Hoseok’s face scrunch in discomfort in his sleep. His breathing was even, if not a little congested, and Yoongi could only hope he’d stay asleep longer. He left the door open, creeping back to his studio down the hall. He left his own door open, sure he’d hear if Hoseok woke from his nap. Deciding to focus just on quieter tasks instead of turning open the soundboard, Yoongi just made sure to save his work a handful of times before opening his email. He typed up a quick message to his boss to let him know there may be a day or two delay, then began reading through the other messages he’d gotten over the day.
Only a few minutes in and his phone went off, a quick text message from Jimin: ‘He dropped his keys off at the front desk, Suran had them’.
‘Thank god,’ Yoongi replied. Goodness knows he didn’t want to worry about trying to get a locksmith and replacing the locks of Hoseok’s car, so that was one less thing to worry about. Jimin followed up his response with asking if Yoongi needed any errands run, and while Yoongi began brainstorming a gag errand to send him on when he heard a gagging of a different kind.
A loud, pained retch, followed by a splash, and a hiccup. Jumping from his desk, the musician abandoned his phone and ran to the bedroom, grimacing at the sour smell that hit him from the doorway. Hoseok, eyes half-lidded and very much out of it, leaned over the side of the bed and coughed up another mouthful of white-yellow sludge, splashing the blanket and the rug by the bed with it. His knuckles gripped the side of the bed, white from the effort, but the next mouthful splashed on his fingers immediately. Yoongi quickly jumped over to grab the trash can from the bedside table, holding it under Hoseok’s mouth. His other hand reached over to pat his back.
“Oh Seokseok, it’s okay, let it out,” he murmured to him.
Hoseok choked up another wave, barely able to catch his breath before another retch overtook him. His stomach cramped fitfully, and Yoongi could spot tears forming in his eyes from the effort it took just to keep going. He merely rubbed his back, trying to stay comforting as Hoseok rid himself of the little bit of porridge he had managed to take down, along with what looked like yesterday’s dinner. It took a few good minutes longer, but soon Hoseok was merely retching out what little bile he could choke out, forcing himself to spit. He took a deep breath before his head dropped on the pillow, obviously spent by the extra effort.
“Yoongi,” he mumbled, voice hoarse and shaky. “Yoon-yoon, that… that hurt…”
“I know, baby, I know. Come on, let’s get you cleaned up.”
Setting the trash can next to the mess, Yoongi pulled the blanket back before pulling Hoseok to sit up. He took the washcloth he’d used earlier, which had been sitting next to a bowl of warming water, and used it to wipe away his mouth and his fingers of any excess vomit, just for Hoseok’s comfort. His boyfriend needed to change anyway, as he noticed the vomit had gotten on Hoseok’s sleeve as well as the blanket. His shirt seemed damp with sweat anyway, so perhaps a change was in order anyway. Yoongi just tossed the washcloth onto the floor and reached for his boyfriend’s arms, helping lead him off the bed, cautious of the original splash mess on the floor.
“Yoon-yoon… I gotta clean…” The dancer’s eyes watered as he looked down at the mess, color draining from his face save for red splashes across his cheek as he began to work himself up.
Yoongi shushed him immediately. “Let hyung worry about that mess.” Reaching a hand to cup Hoseok’s face, he stroked his cheek gently with his thumb, smiling at him. Hoseok’s breath hitched, but he did his best to try and calm down as he listened to Yoongi. “I’ve made worse messes. You want a bath? Wanna soak a little, or just want to sleep?”
The answer came quickly: “Bath later? I don’t…”
“Bath later.”
It took some maneuvering, but he got Hoseok to sit on his studio’s small couch in just his boxers, a blanket wrapped around him and trash can next to him just in case. Another dose of medicine just in case, a few sips of water, and Hoseok seemed content to doze there which gave Yoongi time to take care of the mess. He carried the entire bed’s linen to the washing machine and shoved it inside, tossing in more soap than necessary and turning it on. The rug went outside for later him to deal with. Then some mopping on the hardwood floor, some spraying down, wiping it down, replacing the bedlinen, and cracking open the window, and within twenty minutes the bedroom smelled normal again. For extra measure, he took the trash bag from the small trash can and put it into their bigger trash can downstairs, spraying that down too. Between every step, Yoongi checked on Hoseok to be safe, rather glad when he realized his boyfriend really had just fallen asleep curled up in the blanket.
Yoongi really didn’t want to wake him up after that, but he knew he needed to. Fetching clean cotton pajamas, he slipped back into the office. Dressing Hoseok was easier than he’d thought, Hoseok’s half-asleep self quite agreeable as he let Yoongi feed his arms through the sleeves, and clinging lazily to Yoongi’s back as he stepped into the pants. Once Yoongi pulled up and tied the drawstring, he led his sleepy boyfriend back to the clean bed and helped him lay down again, stroking his hair gently.
“Mm… Yoongi…”
Smiling, Yoongi stroked his cheek again, before Hoseok’s hand found his. “Yes, baby?”
“Stay?” Hoseok mumbled. With a soft laugh, Yoongi nodded. Anything else could wait, he had his phone with him… but honestly, a nap sounded pretty good too. “Anything for you, Seokseok.” He crawled over Hoseok onto the other side of the bed, pulling the dancer close to him. Hoseok moved his hand to his stomach, and Yoongi found himself rubbing his stomach lightly, soothing his sick boyfriend back to sleep. It didn’t take much longer for him to drift off right with him.
Sickie: Seokjin
Caretakers: Namjoon
Prompt: Seokjin has the flu. He feels like he’s going to throw up so he camps out in the bathroom. He’s in there for several hours, nervous to leave because of how ill and nauseous he feels. His entire body aches from the illness and from sitting on the bathroom floor so he finally lets Namjoon convince him to go back to bed. The second he gets into bed is when his stomach finally decides it’s time to bring everything up.
Hiii. I was watching the live from april where Jungkookie cooks the makugsu recipe for us, and there are two ✨️special✨️ moments:)
Around the 34:50 min he suddenly says "Im nauseous."
And at the 1:28:00 min he says "Oh Im full. If I will sleep like this I'll feel nauseous the next day again."... but like.. AGAIN? He has gone through something if this was going to be the second time? Did he got sick one time???
He said in a live from 2017 or 2018 idk exactly where, but he was with Hobi, it was his live and JK came in to talk a little bit with us, and Hobi was eating his dinner. When Hobi asked him to take one bite, after Kook said that it looks delicious, he said that he gets sick if he eats late at night. Maybe he got sick one time around that time?
What do u guys think????🙃
The way he was all quiet before saying "I feel nauseous" 🤧 and then took a sip of his drink 🫢🥲
And when he said "I have really bad food coma." It reminds me of his live when he was saying how it's bad to eat late at night then go to sleep because you could get acid reflux 🏃‍♀️ (here's the link to that clip)
But thank you so much anon for this!!! I never even knew these moments existed 🤩🤩
It's Jungkook's 2023.04.25 vlive, and the times are 34:50 and 1:28:35!!!
Part 4
the sickfic without a title
part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 - word count: 4,120
Namjoon and Hoseok make their way towards the town that’s adjacent to the lake on their bikes in the heat of the day, sweat dripping from their brows and skin golden and shining under the sun.
They stop halfway there, at the highest point on the road, and walk a quarter of a kilometer up the dirt path to a viewpoint that looks out over the lake. It’s one of Hoseok’s favorite spots to visit when they go hiking in the area every summer, mostly because he loves to look at their house across the lake from this perspective. It looks tiny from up here, and sometimes Hoseok likes to imagine it’s a little model that Namjoon made of his dream house for all his boyfriends to live in. He’s told Namjoon as much, multiple times, just so he can sit and watch Namjoon talk when he launches into an explanation of how he only made blueprints on paper and not an actual miniature model of the house.
“We’ve gotta bring Jimin up here when he’s feeling better,” Namjoon says as he looks out over the lake. “We haven’t been on any hikes yet. And he would love this view.”
Hoseok leans against a tree and watches Namjoon admire the view until Namjoon catches him looking, and subsequently flushes a bright pink under his intense stare.
“What?”
“Mm. I just agree with you. Jimin would love this view.”
Namjoon rolls his eyes and motions with his hand. “Let’s get going,” he says, but he playfully grabs a handful of Hoseok’s ass as he brushes past him.
The tiny grocery store in town looks the exact same as it does every time they visit. The owner greets them warmly, asking about how their summer has been. She’s known them for years now, and when she hears about Jimin and Jungkook, she immediately starts to gather up a bag of extra supplies and food.
“I hope you’re taking very good care of those boys,” she tells them as they check out. Hoseok is pretty sure she thinks they’re all brothers, or cousins. “Come back for a visit if you need anything at all.”
After promising that they’re taking the best care of Jimin and Jungkook, and bowing profusely in thanks, Namjoon and Hoseok make their way back to their bikes.
“Popsicles are gonna melt before we get back,” Hoseok comments as he adjusts all of the groceries in the basket attached to his bike. He wipes the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand.
“We better ride fast, then,” Namjoon replies. He gets on his bike and then suddenly Hoseok is in his space.
“Oh, I can ride very fast,” he says, voice low.
Namjoon darts his head forward and plants a kiss on Hoseok’s lips. “I know you can, baby,” he smirks, and Hoseok squeaks and looks around wildly.
“It’s okay,” Namjoon chuckles. “No one was watching.” He pushes his kickstand up with his heel. “Race you home!” He shouts, and then he takes off, pedaling fast and leaving Hoseok to gape at his retreating form.
“No fair!” Hoseok shouts after him, jumping onto his bike and nearly losing his balance as it wobbles unevenly with the weight of the groceries. “You could have at least taken one of these bags!”
*
When Namjoon and Hoseok return, both Jimin and Jungkook are still asleep, and Seokjin is in the living room playing video games while Yoongi and Taehyung watch.
“How was town?” Seokjin asks, pausing his game. He glances over at Yoongi and Taehyung, who look far too tired for his liking, leaning against each other on the couch. Namjoon and Hoseok don’t look much better, drenched in sweat from their bike ride and hiding yawns behind their hands.
“Good,” Namjoon replies. “It’s like that little town never changes. We got everything we needed and then some. We picked up some pre-made food for dinner, too. Figured it would be nice not to have to cook tonight.”
“I need a shower,” Hoseok says. He yawns. “And a nap.”
Taehyung stands with a stretch. “You two go shower. I’ll put the groceries away.”
“I’m joining you,” Namjoon says to Hoseok once he sees Yoongi join Taehyung to unpack the groceries. “I’m so sweaty and gross.”
They all pretend to not see the eyebrow wiggle Hoseok gives him in return.
Seokjin sends Yoongi and Taehyung off for a nap too once everything is put away. Since Jimin and Jungkook are both sleeping, Seokjin decides he can always wake one of the others up if he needs anything, or if they’re all still sleeping by dinnertime. For now, all he wants to do is sit on the couch and play video games.
A full hour passes by before Seokjin takes a stretch break, standing up and arching his back until he feels a satisfying crack. He makes a trip into the kitchen for some water and a snack, and then heads back to his comfy spot on the couch. He’s just settling down for another round of KartRider when he hears a door open somewhere down the hall, and then soft footsteps approaching. He sets down his controller and watches Jimin shuffle into the living room, and he can’t believe he missed that the younger man was sick earlier with how he looks now, exhaustion visibly weighing him down. Jimin’s eyes and nose are red and he’s wearing what looks like one of Jungkook’s oversized black hoodies, sleeves hanging all the way past his fingertips and hood pulled up over his hair.
“Hey sleepyhead,” Seokjin greets him. “How was your nap?”
Jimin yawns, and then sneezes four times in a row, looking slightly dazed afterward.
“Hey,” he croaks, pressing a knuckle against his septum. His eyelashes flutter and Seokjin can tell he’s got another sneeze coming.
After a moment, he sniffs hard, rubs aggressively at his nose, and then shuffles a few steps closer. Seokjin pats the couch next to him and Jimin plops down onto the cushion with a series of wet sniffles, knuckle still resting against the underside of his nose.
“Taehyung says you’re not feeling well?’
“He…?” Jimin trails off, face scrunched up in confusion, and then he sighs. “Oh.” he sniffles thickly and leans his head back against the couch. “That’s why I feel like shit.”
“Sounds like you might have caught a cold.”
Jimin presses the heel of his hand to the underside of his nose, then pulls his hand away quickly, frowning at the moisture left behind in disgust and wiping his hand on his pants. “Ugh. I thought it was the cleaning stuff that was irritating my throat and sinuses. And I’ve had a headache but…I thought I was just tired, we’ve all been so tired…Am I the only one? Is everyone else feeling okay?” Jimin peers at Seokjin. “Are you feeling okay?”
He barely waits for Seokjin to nod before he’s groaning loudly.
“Oh shit! I let Jungkook use my chapstick! And I’ve been cuddling with him– What if he catches this too? I should…I should go stay at a hotel or something, I–”
“Jimin, love. Take a breath,” Seokjin interrupts. He tugs Jimin to his chest and runs his fingers through the younger man’s hair. “You’re not staying in a hotel. Don’t be ridiculous. Jungkook won’t catch your cold, but we don’t want you catching what he has on top of a cold, either. Best to stick to your room as much as you can.”
Jimin nods against his chest, sniffling softly, sadly.
“And we’ll double disinfect everything. It’s going to be fine, we just need to be careful until you’re both feeling better.”
Another nod. Seokjin smiles and presses a kiss to Jimin’s temple. Belatedly, Jimin jerks upright, scooting down the couch away from Seokjin with a gasp.
“Jinnie! You shouldn’t be cuddling me right now!”
Jimin looks like he’s about to cry. He makes a sad sound in the back of his throat, and then he’s sneezing again another four times in a row, his face scrunching up in irritation.
“Goodness,” Seokjin tuts. He looks around until he spots a box of tissues on a nearby end table, which he fetches and brings back to the couch. “Blow your nose.”
Jimin complies, going through several tissues before he slumps back against the couch with a stuffy sigh.
“Now,” Seokjin says, pressing a kiss to Jimin’s temple. “I’m going to make you something hot to drink. Go rest, please.”
“I was just resting.”
“You can never have too much rest. Especially on vacation. Especially when you’re sick. Namjoonie and Hoseokie went into town earlier and got tissues and cold medicine.”
“For me?”
Seokjin chuckles. “Of course, love. All for you. You’re the one with a cold.”
“I can’t believe I didn’t even realize,” Jimin groans. He’s so congested now that his words are hard to make out.
“Go on. I’ll bring everything to your room.”
Jimin nods and wordlessly shuffles back down the hall, looking defeated.
He’s already drifting off to sleep when Seokjin gets there with an armful of supplies– cold medicine, tissues, throat lozenges, and a mug of hot tea– so Seokjin sets everything down on the nightstand as quietly as he can, presses a kiss to Jimin’s forehead, and leaves him to nap in peace.
*
“You’re gonna get pruney in there.”
“Hmm?” Jungkook feels sleepy. He looks over at Namjoon without moving his head. “Oh. Don’t care,” he murmurs. He really doesn’t. It feels so good to lie in the warm water, to finally not be shivering with chills. “It’s warm. It’s worth it.”
In the bath, Jungkook can kind of pretend he almost feels back to normal. He’s relaxed, he's at a comfortable temperature, he’s not covered in his own sweat, and he’s not in bed nor hunched over a toilet seat.
The others slowly trickle into the bathroom one by one and remind Jungkook that he’s actually still sick. Sick enough that they’re all still hovering, all wanting to keep an eye on him. Soon, they’re all in the bathroom– everyone except Jimin, which is odd considering he hasn’t seen Jimin yet today, and it’s already late in the evening.
In fact, Jungkook realizes he hasn’t seen Jimin since yesterday morning, when he’d woken up in Seokjin’s bed.
“Where’s Jimin?” He asks, turning his head to the side so he can look at Namjoon next to him.
“He’s in his room,” Namjoon answers, voice even, but Jungkook sees his jaw tense at the question.
He glances over at Taehyung, who’s also suddenly tense, and not meeting Jungkook’s eyes.
“He’s just been sleeping. Catching up on some rest,” Yoongi says. He’s looking down at his phone and he’s frowning.
“Is he okay?” A sudden, uneasy feeling washes over Jungkook. “Why are you all acting so weird?”
A few moments pass by in silence. Finally, Seokjin speaks. “He caught a little cold and he doesn’t want to pass it on to you.”
“What? Jimin has a cold? Shit,” Jungkook curses. “Is he okay? How is he feeling?” He sits upright and pulls the plug from the drain. “How did he get sick?”
“Slow down, Kook,” Namjoon says, but Jungkook is already standing and reaching for his towel.
“Is he asleep right now?”
The lack of response he gets to his question tells Jungkook that the answer to that is no. He can go check on Jimin now if that’s the case.
“Jungkook, it’s okay, baby,” Seokjin says as he watches Jungkook towel dry his hair with a sudden urgency. “It’s really just a little cold. Jimin is fine, and he’s resting in bed right now. Joonie and Hoseokie already went into town to pick up some more medicine and stuff for him. They got some popsicles for you, too. Want one now? You haven't had anything to eat yet tonight.”
Jungkook shivers at the thought of eating a cold popsicle. He’s fucking cold again, and he’d be sad about that fact if not for the worry that’s overtaking him. “No, thanks,” he responds. “Maybe later.” He had skipped dinner on purpose, his stomach clenching dangerously at the thought of a meal.
He quickly pulls on his clean clothes that Taehyung presents him with and then makes a beeline for Jimin’s room, skillfully maneuvering past his boyfriends all crowded in the bathroom before they can stop him.
“Uh, wrong way.” Hoseok catches up and grabs him gently by the elbow before he gets too far. “You’re not going to see Jimin right now! The last thing you need is to catch his cold, Kookie.”
“What– I’m not going to catch his cold,” Jungkook argues. He’s getting a little frustrated now. “I just want to check on him and see if he needs anything.”
“We’ve already checked on him,” Yoongi promises. He rests a hand on Jungkook’s back, rubbing back and forth softly.
“I can check on him too, though. I’m not a fucking baby–”
A soft cough interrupts, and they all look over to see Jimin poking his head out of his room.
“Hey,” he says. He sounds stuffed up and sleepy, and his eyes and nose are a bit red. He’s only looking at Jungkook, and Jungkook lets out a sad sigh.
“Jiminie,” he says, voice trembling. “I’m so sorry you’re sick.”
“I’m okay, Jungkookie,” Jimin replies. He sniffles and leans out a little farther into the hallway. “Don’t worry about me, okay?” He coughs, bringing a hand up to cover his mouth.
Jungkook bites his lower lip. “Of course I’m going to worry about you. I’ve already been worrying so much that any of you are going to catch what I have. Now you have a cold?” He pouts. “How did you even catch a cold?”
Jimin shakes his head and clears his throat. “I have no clue. Actually…” He lowers his gaze. “I guess, if I’m being honest, I haven’t been feeling my best for a few days now. I just didn’t realize it.”
“It always takes you so long to realize it when you’re sick,” Taehyung tells him with a soft laugh.
“Well, I’m still sorry you’re sick. I’d come give you cuddles but apparently I’m not allowed to.” Jungkook rolls his eyes in mock annoyance.
“Of course you’re not!” Jimin gasps. “Jungkookie, you’re still sick too! Please don’t come near me.”
Jungkook crosses his arms. “Nobody was even gonna tell me that you’re sick,” he complains.
“We were going to tell you,” Yoongi corrects. “We just knew you would go into instant-worry mode and you don’t necessarily need that on top of already being sick yourself.”
Jungkook sighs, and then shivers visibly, his still damp hair making him feel cold.
“Okay, rest time for Jungkookie and Jiminie,” Seokjin says. He puts his hands on Jungkook’s shoulders. “We know you’re not a baby, Jungkook. But just like you’re worried about Jimin, we’re all worried about the both of you. So the sooner you let us take care of you, the sooner you’ll feel better, and the sooner you and Jimin can cuddle.”
“Fine,” Jungkook says with another shiver. He’s really, really missing the warm bath. He wraps his arms around himself and shoots Jimin a tired smile.
“Feel better soon, so we can cuddle soon,” he orders, and Jimin breaks out into a smile.
Seokjin starts to guide Jungkook to his own room, but after a few steps he stops short.
“Jinnie?” Jungkook asks sweetly, turning to his oldest partner. “Can I please borrow your slippers? The pink fluffy ones?”
Even though it’s a bit of an odd request, as Jungkook has never asked to borrow Seokjin’s slippers once in his life, Seokjin is quick to nod and hurry off to retrieve them.
As soon as he gets back and hands them over, Jungkook ducks around Hoseok so quickly he doesn’t have time to react and makes a break down the hall towards Jimin. He gets there before any of them can react, and he kneels at Jimin’s feet and sets the slippers down in front of him.
“You can’t walk around barefoot when you’re sick,” he says, nodding down at Jimin’s bare feet.
Jimin snorts out a startled, stuffy laugh. “Oh, Jungkookie.” He wiggles his toes and slips his feet into the slippers with another giggle, smiling fondly down at Jungkook when he reaches out to help him with the second one.
Jungkook sits back on his heels, one hand wrapped around Jimin’s calf, looking up at him with the same fondness.
“Feel better soon. I’m really sorry that you’re sick.”
Jimin’s eyes are suspiciously wet when he responds. “Thank you, my sweet Kookie. I’ll get better very fast, I promise.”
“Love you,” Jungkook says, and with one last pat to Jimin’s leg, he stands and takes a big step backward to keep some space between them. “Rest well.”
“You too, sweetie,” Jimin replies, also taking a step backwards into his room.
After that, Jungkook lets Hoseok finally take him back to his own room. He feels so suddenly drained of energy that he curls up on his side as soon as he’s on the bed, achy and shivering, and he doesn’t realize until Yoongi holds up a fever patch that it’s because his temperature is up again.
“Joon and Hoseok got these at the store earlier,” Yoongi tells him. “Thought it might be more comfortable for you than the cold washcloths.”
Jungkook nods, because he knows from past experience that Yoongi is right. He closes his eyes as Yoongi places it on his forehead and then kisses the tip of his nose.
“Did you get the honey throat lozenges?” Jungkook asks, eyes still closed. He hears a soft laugh from his right.
“Yes,” Namjoon responds. “We know what Jimin likes, you know.”
Jungkook nods, and immediately regrets it when it makes him feel dizzy even though he’s lying down.
“Sleep, baby,” Seokjin says from somewhere above him.
Jungkook sleeps.
*
Several different things hit Jungkook all at once when he wakes up the next morning.
The first is that it’s morning. That means he actually slept through the night. Without waking up to puke, without waking up drenched in sweat, without waking up too hot or too cold or too uncomfortable. He’s warm and cozy under his blanket and the early morning light is filtering through his window.
The second is that he’s on his stomach, which is his preferred sleeping position, but he hasn’t really been able to sleep on his stomach when his stomach has been so upset. His stomach feels fine though in this position, and the pressure almost feels nice.
However, it also means there’s pressure on his bladder— another thing of note, because it means that he’s not as dehydrated as he has been lately, if he actually has to pee upon waking up.
But the most pressing matter that fights for Jungkook’s attention isn’t the time of day, nor the position he’s in, nor his full bladder.
It’s the fact that he has an itchy nose.
A very, very itchy nose.
Jungkook huffs out an irritated breath into his pillow and scrunches up his face sharply. Not only does his nose itch, but his throat is also very dry and irritated. He needs water, he needs to pee, and he needs desperately to scratch his nose, but he doesn’t want to have to deal with any of that because he’s nearly comfortable for once and he doesn’t want to move from the warmth of his blanket. With a sleepy sigh, he rubs his nose against his pillow, which kind of helps with the itch, except now it’s more on the inside than the outside. He scrunches up his nose, wiggles it around, and then sniffs hard, and that makes it way worse– it makes him feel like he needs to sneeze. Without meaning to, he whimpers in frustration, breath catching as the maddening tickle in his nose intensifies.
“Oh? Good morning,” A voice murmurs in his ear, and it completely scares the sneeze away just as it reaches its crest, leaving him teary-eyed and a little out of breath.
“Uhh?! Hmph.”
A deep chuckle, and then Yoongi is rubbing his back, in between his shoulder blades. “Are you still asleep?”
“Nghh.” Jungkook sniffles and shifts uncomfortably.
“What’s wrong, love? You feeling okay?”
“I have to pee and my nose is itchy,” Jungkook whines, his voice muffled in the pillow.
Yoongi lets out a snort and then a soft chuckle. “Okay. Get up and pee then.” Then, when Jungkook doesn’t move, he asks, “Do you need help getting to the bathroom?”
“No.”
Yoongi waits for a beat. “...Okay?”
“Don’t wanna move.”
Another chuckle. “Don’t blame you. You look so cute and cozy right now. Did you sleep well?”
“Hmm,” Jungkook answers non-committedly. He probably did, but now he can only focus on all of the discomforts of waking up. He turns his head and squints up at Yoongi. “Yoongi?” He uses his softest, most pleading voice he can muster.
“What do you need, baby?”
Jungkook feels Yoongi lean closer. He nuzzles into his pillow some more. “Can you please get me some water? And will you scratch my nose?”
Yoongi blinks at him, mouth dropping open.
“Please,” Jungkook begs. “It’s so itchy and I don’t wanna move.”
“You want me to scratch your nose for you?” Yoongi gapes at him.
Jungkook whimpers on purpose this time, for dramatic effect.
“Get up to pee and scratch your own nose,” Yoongi grumbles, but he shuffles even closer. “Where does it itch?” His fingers hover over Jungkook’s nose, waiting.
Jungkook scrunches up his nose again. “Everywhere.”
“That’s helpful,” Yoongi replies dryly.
“Yoongi,” he whines with a sniffle.
“Okay, okay.” Yoongi begins dragging his fingernail down the side of Jungkook’s nose, an amused smirk on his face.
“Left,” Jungkook grunts, nose scrunching at the touch. “Now right. Okay, now on the tip– ohh, wait, yeah…yeah I think…” Jungkook sniffs sharply. “Ugh, nevermind. It’s not working. It still itches.” He clears his throat loudly and sticks out his lower lip.
“I did all that work for nothing?” Yoongi asks incredulously. He frowns when Jungkook clears his throat again and then coughs once.
“You okay?”
“Mm.” Jungkook swallows, clears his throat. “My throat is dry.”
“You’re full of complaints this morning, aren’t you?” Yoongi says, rolling his eyes, but Jungkook can hear relief in his voice too. He knows that they’ve all been so worried about him, but if he’s up to complaining, it’s a sign he’s feeling better.
“I’m sorry your throat hurts. I’ll make you some tea in a bit.” Yoongi frowns. “Did you throw up again last night?”
All amusement in his expression is gone, replaced by concern.
“No,” Jungkook quickly responds. “No, I’m just thirsty.” He bats his eyelashes a few times. “I could really use some water right now.”
“Oh my god, Jungkook! Get your ass up, drink some water, go pee, and scratch your own damn nose!”
There’s a startled gasp from the doorway, and they both look over to see Namjoon standing there.
“What’s going on?” he asks cautiously, narrowing his eyes at Yoongi.
Jungkook finally sits up and scrubs both of his hands over his entire face, pawing at his nose a few times after until the itch in his nose is gone. “Good morning,” he tells Namjoon when he’s done. “How’s Jimin?”
Namjoon, still looking confused, approaches the bed and sits down on the end.
“Jimin is doing okay. Hoseok just checked on him.”
As if summoned, Hoseok enters the room and hops on the bed. “Good morning, cuties,” he says cheerfully. “Jimin just fell back asleep. He’s doing alright, all things considered.”
“Jungkook, how do you feel?” Namjoon asks.
Jungkook is about to respond, but then the itch in his nose that had plagued him earlier returns, tickling at the insides of his sinuses persistently and making his breath catch. On his next inhale, the feeling spreads and he gasps sharply, face scrunching up, and then sneezes.
It feels terrible. His nose is suddenly runny, his dry throat aches, and his full bladder protests at the sudden outburst.
“Bless you,” Hoseok coos.
Namjoon gets up and retrieves a tissue for him when he sees Jungkook sniffling, his face still scrunched up.
Yoongi leans over and rubs him on the back. “You okay?” He asks.
“That was really, really not great,” Jungkook gasps, squeezing his eyes shut until the discomfort passes. “I almost just pissed myself when I sneezed.”
Hoseok bursts into laughter at the admission, but Yoongi yanks the blankets off him and all but shoves him off the bed.
“Go to the fucking bathroom already!”
Energy boost
Sickie: Taehyung
Caretaker: Jungkook
TW: emeto
Taehyung woke up tired today. He didn't sleep the best and just feels overall sluggish. Taehyung can usually hide that he's tired and is good at covering up his yawning in public. But he just hates that feeling weighing him down. They're filming a short dance number for army today and he needs a lot of stamina.
Taehyung doesn't like coffee at all and doesn't understand how Yoongi can drink so much of it. He can't stand the smell or the taste. He's trying to think of another quick fix and wound up buying an energy drink. It's strawberry flavored so he figured he'd try it.
"Since when do you drink energy drinks?" Yoongi teases.
"It tastes better than that burnt hot bean water" Taehyung sasses playfully.
"Maybe, but coffee doesn't make you crash like those do" Yoongi smirks.
Taehyung found it tasted pretty sweet; a little too sweet from what's he's used to but he drank half of it and already feels a little more perky. It gives him more hope about the day. When finished his stomach feels.. weird. He drank that pretty fast. His stomach gurgles with the fizzy drink bubbling up. He burps and pauses for a minute. He feels the caffeine kicking in and rushes to get prepared.
The guys stand in position and Taehyung tries to stay still. He's all jittery and his stomach keeps going off. He doesn't know if anyone else can hear it and palms it cautiously.
"Everyone in place!"
The music starts playing and the choreography is fast pace. Taehyung's body keeps up with the movements but he regrets having that energy drink. The liquid swishes and sloshes inside his stomach with each jump and turn. It feels like his stomach is a bottle being shaken and bubbling up, ready to go off. But he can't stop now, they're halfway through the song. Then his stomach burbles and Taehyung stumbles and hiccups, almost tripping.
"Cut!" They all stop and look at him.
"Tae, why'd you stop?" Hoseok asks.
Taehyung wants to say his stomach hurts but doesn't want to throw off the day. He already messed up and doesn't want people getting mad at him. "I-I'm fine--" *he burps mid sentence.* Taehyung covers his mouth, flustered.
They all look at him strange. Yoongi is looking with concern. That wasn't exactly a small sized can he chugged.
"Ugh, sorry.. I'm sorry, I can keep going." Taehyung says quickly. He just wants to get through this.
"Hmm okay, let's try again" Hoseok gestures them to walk back to starting position. Taehyung puts a fist to his mouth and descretely burps again. He wants to think it helps but isn't sure. His stomach feels queasy and he worries he'll throw up instead. The cameras are going again and he definitely doesn't want that.
On the second take Taehyung isn't as fast, his stomach hurts with all the movements and sloshing. His body can't handle it and his stomach lurches. Taehyung hiccups again and bends over, holding his abdomen. Suddenly he belches and his stomach opens the floodgates, spewing out a fast large wave.
"Whoa Tae!" Jimin and Jungkook jump back, they were closest to him and just missed getting splashed. Taehyung can't say anything as his stomach is still forcing out it's contents.
The music stops and everyone is shocked at what just happened. Namjoon waves at the staff to stop the cameras and the members run to Taehyung. Taehyung falls to his knees clutching his middle. He sighs in disbelief but his stomach cuts him off with another hard retch. He pants and looks at the pink puddle on the floor. "Ugh, why did I have that?" Taehyung mutters.
Yoongi looks at the young vocalist sympathetically. "It's okay Tae, it could've happened to anyone."
Taehyung feels ridiculous and thought forsure they would scold him but everyone was benevolent and understanding.
-------
Taehyung wasn't thrilled about the car ride back. His stomach's still complaining after all that vomiting. He tries to rub it but he's so tired. Whenever the car hits a bump or a turn his stomach gurgles, making him moan quietly.
"Awwh hyung, that drink really upset your tummy huh?" Jungkook put his hand on Taehyung's stomach. Taehyung just nods as his sick stomach churns. Jungkook wants to help it and starts rubbing lightly "how does this feel?"
Taehyung hums approvingly, letting JK take over. The maknae's hands feel so nice. Taehyung yawns and leans on Jungkook closing his eyes. He's crashing. Jungkook looks and smiles fondly, shifting a bit to make it more comfortable.
