Anchored.

Waves lapping upon my ears, Vitriolic release enveloping, As I let go of the Void. Slipping back into ecstasy Anchored. But still Floating.

It’s been far too long since I’ve posted, or really even written, anything. This jumped out of me last night in a very powerful, overwhelming way. Hopefully someone else can get something from it too.

Also, I want to dedicate this piece to really two of my most prominent writing influences that I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing in some capacity:

@emijott (Truly some of the most profound poetry I’ve ever personally read.The flexibility of words is awe-inspiring, & it never fails to leave me shaken. Also one of the most genuine, encouraging individuals I’ve ever talked to on the internet, which is always such a nice reprieve; especially in something as personal & self-criticism inducing as writing.)

@danger-writes (Full disclosure: one of my oldest friends in life, if not my oldest; he’s also going to be one of the next great authors with his stories. If entrancing world building centered around unique & magical characters is your thing, look no further, or at least stop & have a peak on your way. I likely would have never even attempted picking writing back up if not for our days-long discussions about what it means to both of us.)

I hope to start writing/posting more with this crazy world getting crazier. Hell, maybe even start trying to turn it into something bigger than just a “blowing off mental anguish/delight” exercise. We shall see. Thanks for reading.

1. What time is it for you? 1:28

2. Where are you right now? My room

3. What is the last thing you ate? Eggs, toast, and bacon :P

4. How long have you been on Tumblr? A had a different account a few years back. I think I opened this account Like March-ish 2017 but I only became active around late January 2018.

5. What is your occupation/year in school? I have a part time job as a cashier as I am also a student

6. What is the last text you sent and to whom? I asked my mother what she meant

7. What are your favorite things to do to relax/unwind? Read, message friends, browse Instagram, go on Quora

8. Have you traveled outside your home country? Where? I wish

9. Where would you like to visit if you could go anywhere? Why stop there? If I could go anywhere, I’d like to go everywhere.

10. What’s something you’re looking forward to in the next few days? Uhh Ukulele lessons on Wednesdays :)

11. Do you have any siblings? How many? Three, plus 2 stepsiblings

23. Describe the last dream you can remember? I can’t even remember haha

24. Describe a dream or nightmare that you can never forget? when I was 4 I had a nightmare that there was a blue giant attacking the city. I guess it scarred 4 year old me so much that I still remember.

25. Have you ever smoked? What did you smoke and what was it like? Never

26. What is an embarrassing moment you’ve experienced? uhh everything I do???

27. Do you like music? What’s your favorite genre? I looove music. My favorite genre is probably pop, especially new wave.

28. Ever performed in a play or a concert? What was it like? I’m in my school’s choir, so I often participate in concerts. I was in a play in 7th grade. Usually the lights blind the audience which makes it a little easier but other than that I still get nervous.

29. One habit you’re trying to start? Keeping my room clean :/

30. One habit you’re trying to quit? nail biting

31. Do you know what you want to do in 10 years? Keeping making music, keeping songwriting, keeping poetry writing. Thus, hopefully stay in the arts.

32. Do you worry about more often about the past or the future? Future. We’re in summer and I’m already stressed about the upcoming school year.

33. Are you in a relationship? ha

34. Describe a date that went horribly wrong? (Or wonderfully great, you pick)? ha...haha.......heh

35. Would you call yourself a dreamer? Always have been, hopefully always will be. The impending reality of life is starting to weigh down haha

36. An overachiever? Yea

37. A hopeless romantic? Yea

38. Who are your role models and why? Taylor Swift because she was my childhood idol.

39. What do you tend to spend your money on the most? Music, instruments

42. Have any scars? If you want to share, how did you get them? I have a million from bug bites and one above my right eyebrow because I tripped...on the playground...when I was 7.

44. Have kids? How many? I’d like to have, in my ideal world, 4 kids with 2 being twins :)

45. What is the one thing that never fails to make you smile? My cat. He’s a good boy.

46. What is one thing you learned today? I don’t even know

Get to know me!:)

I was tagged by @sunflowersinosaka, This blog is pretty new, so I’m just trying to get in the habit of posting daily and my attempt of getting to know people, I'm really shy and really awkward ._. and a place to post my work. At the end I’ll tag a few of the blogs I recently followed so we can get to know each other! Of course, no pressure but if I tagged you maybe you can follow back and we can i don’t know start a friendship, maybe? I’m sorry for my awkwardness

Name: Xiomara, for most people my name is really hard to pronounce so I'm not offended when people don't get it the first time. its been like that my whole life tbh

Nickname: mara, my sister give me the nickname back in like 4th grade. fun fact mara in Spanish is gang. almost everyone calls me mara cause its easier to say than my actual name. i usually tell people to call me mara when i realize they’ll probably never get my name right. some friends also call me xio, doesn't matter which one you call me ill answer to both

Zodiac sign: I'm a Scorpio im kinda into astrology, I'm trying to learn more about it, so if anyone wants to lead me in the direction of how i can learn more about it shoot me a message

Height: 5', i actually like being short, everyone in my family is short. so its not a surprise to me that i probably stopped growing by now

Languages spoken: English and Spanish, i sometimes get shy to speak in Spanish cause i mess up a lot

Favorite fruit: either watermelons or mangos, i could eat them everyday if i could

Favorite scents: hmmmmm this one is kinda hard but probably the smell of a bakery, idk why i just love walking into bakeries and smelling all the fresh baked goods. also the smell of coffee

Favorite season: fall because my birthday is in October and i love Halloween and the leaves changing colors and also Summer because i love going to the beach and i love the warmer weather

Favorite color: black or blue

Favorite animal: i always say I'm a cat person, but i love dogs so much probably because my first stuff animal that i ever got was a dog and i still have it to this day.

Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?: always coffee, i can’t help it. I've been drinking coffee since like 8th grade, maybe younger. i always try to switch to tea but i always end up back to drinking coffee

Average hours of sleep: I love sleeping, but i have a horrible sleeping patterns, so I'm not really sure

Favorite fictional character: probably Mona because just like her i wanna see what else is out there in the world but i have to wait for my time because I'm not financially ready for all that sadly

No. of blankets you sleep with: 2 or 3 i get cold really easily so i have to keep myself warm

Favorite songs: it changes a lot but right now ball for me by post Malone

Favorite Artists: post Malone, blackbear, Olivia O'Brien, the weeknd, Adriana Grande, drake, probably some others that i cant think of right now

Favorite books: milk and honey, the sun and her flowers, I'm trying to get back into reading, so anyone got any good books i should read?
