You felt sick. So incredibly sick. The heavy stone that had formed in your stomach for the last couple of hours just wouldn't go away and on top, your heart beat so hard and fast that it made you feel dizzy.

A glance at the clock told you that it was almost time for Emily to arrive. "Oh god, oh god, ohh my god...", was all you could mumble to yourself as you ran around your apartment like a headless chicken, to make sure everything was ready. That everything was perfect. You needed it to be perfect.

To be honest, you felt like you had no idea what you were doing. Not a single clue. None of your exes were big on celebrating valentine's day in any kind of way, and for the last few years you had been single. So not only had you never really celebrated valentine's day before, but more importantly: it was your first relationship with a woman.

It had only been about a month since you started dating Emily. After a couple too many shots of tequila on new years eve, the liquid courage had made you bolder than you could have imagined. So, when the countdown to midnight reached zero and the both of you hugged and exchanged a "happy new year!", you had cupped her cheeks and kissed her. You were so overwhelmed at the moment, that you left the party without another word to anyone and ran home. Literally ran home. The next day Emily stood in front of your door, fresh coffee and croissants from your favorite bakery in her hand and you talked about your feelings for each other.

A part of you wished, all of this would have happened on another day. Don't get me wrong, you loved every second you were able to spend with her. But it was all so new to you, and today seemed like such a big day for some reason. Maybe you wouldn't be as nervous if you would have been dating for longer than a month. Then, if you would have gotten more used to being with her romantically, you wouldn't freak out as much as you were right now.

I mean, this wasn't your first date with each other, nor was it the first time Emily came to your place and / or stayed the night. But there was something about days like this - birthdays, valentine's day, or other holidays like christmas for example - that felt even more special when you are in love and spend them with your partner. And even though the both of you had been friends for years beforehand, it just was different now. Especially so early on in the relationship.

You nervously gnawed on your bottom lip as you let your gaze wander around the place. The food - a recipe by the courtesy of one David Rossi - was in the oven and would soon be done; so, check. Plates and cutlery out on the table; check. Emily had said, that she would bring some wine; therefore, check. The dozens of candles you had placed all around the apartment were lit; check. Nice outfit; check. The bouquet of flowers you got for Emily; che-

The door bell rang so sudden it startled you and it was a surprise you didn't scream. Your heart threatened to jump out of its confinement as you walked to the door. Taking a deep breath you reached for the door handle, your hands trembling.

The first thing you saw was a big, beautiful bouquet of your favorite flowers. Emily exhaled as if she had held her breath and fleshed you a big smile, her eyes shining and full of love as she took you in. "Hello, my love. Happy valentine's day."

"Hi", you breathed, your own lips stretching into a wide smile, "happy valentine's day." You took a step aside to let her in. After you closed the door behind her, you took the bouquet from her and buried your nose in the flowers, taking a deep breath. "Thank you, they are beautiful."

"I'm glad you like them." Emily smiled as you placed a kiss on her lips.

You hurried to put the flowers in a vase and placed them on the table in your living room, while Emily took off her coat. You were speechless for a moment when you saw her. The fabric of the red dress she wore hugged her body like a second skin, knee-length, with a slit on the right side that ended just centimetres under her hip.

Emily did little to mask her amusement when she saw you staring at her. But her amusement was quickly erased by awe when her gaze wandered around the room. Now, it was her time to be speechless, as she took in the scenery. The candles you had placed on almost every possible - and safe - surface, the rose petals that you had placed everywhere, the dimmed lights and the soft music that played in the background.

"Wow... That's...", she started, her brows furrowing as she looked for the right word. You grew nervous. Was it too much? Should you maybe had stopped at music and candles and leave the rose petals?

But before the little voice in the back of you head had any chance to get louder, Emily closed the space between you, reached up to cup your cheek with one hand and run her thumb over your cheekbone. The other found its place on your hip. "Beautiful. It's.." Again, she tried tried to find the right words, but not one came close to describe what she felt.

"So, you like it?", you asked shyly. Emily's gaze flickered between your lips and your eyes as she nodded. "Yeah", she breathed and kissed you.

You pulled her closer and melted into her kiss, into her touch. It didn't take long for Emily to softly nibble at your bottom lip and swiping the tip of her tongue over it. Your lips parted and a soft moan left your throat when your tongues met.

When the alarm clock you had set for when you had to get the food out of the oven rang, neither of you moved. All you did was whisper "Food's ready" in between kisses, but instead of pulling away you pressed your body closer to Emily's.

She smiled into the kiss. "Mmh, I think, I want some dessert first."

william always loved how you looked by his side.

sure, you were always beautiful. it was one of the reasons why he'd been so drawn to you in the first place. but there was something about having you at his side that made his heart swell with pride.

now, as the two of you walked up the front steps of the emily house to henry's new year's eve party, william couldn't help but admire you beneath the moonlight and the led glow of the christmas lights. you'd wanted to make a good first impression on william's business partner, so you were dressed to the nines in a dress that william couldn't wait to take off of you once the two of you got home. you were nothing short of arm candy, and william loved it.

henry's face lit up with a smile as he opened the door for the two of you, welcoming you into the house with a beckoning wave. "please, come on in!" he urged the two of you. "i've been eager to meet the future mrs. afton!" william couldn't help but laugh, both at the comment and the bashful expression on your face.

"i may have told him a thing or two about you," he said as he led you into the house.

as the hours passed by, drawing ever closer to midnight, william stuck by your side. he knew very well that henry was married, but anytime henry cast a smile or a compliment in your direction, william squeezed your hand just a bit tighter, or wrapped his arm protectively around your waist. you didn't need the protection per se, but you were grateful for it nonetheless.

a few minutes before midnight, henry brought the party guests out into the backyard, where he and his wife had proudly set up a fireworks display to celebrate. william sprawled out on a reclining deck chair, his long legs sticking out over the edge, and patted his thigh, shooting you a wink.

"come on, baby," he grinned. "there's room for one more."

returning his playfulness, you took a seat on his lap before stretching out so you were lying on top of him, your head resting on his chest.

the seconds ticked away as the new year drew so close you could almost reach out and touch it. henry stood poised by the fireworks, lighter in hand, waiting for the countdown to play on the radio.

"10, 9, 8..."

henry quickly set to lighting the first few fireworks before rushing back to the chairs to sit next to his wife. as the countdown played over the radio, you turned your head to gaze up into william's eyes, smiling as you saw the love in his eyes.

"3, 2, 1, HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

the excited shouts of the party guests joined with the static filled celebration from the radio, and the first few fireworks whizzed into the sky, leaving a trail of sparks behind them as they erupted into bursts of color. you watched the fireworks exploding in the reflection of william's glasses for a few moments, then tilted your head up towards him, your lips meeting in a gentle kiss.

"happy new near, sweetheart," william murmured into the kiss. you were too focused on kissing him some more to reply.

a very happy new year, indeed.

Entrapdak Zine 6 - Festive. Submissions OPEN!

Anyway this is the post for Entrapdak Zine 6 - Festive!

The deadline for this will be Friday DEC 1st 2021 at 9AM GMT. What’s that in your timezone? Click here for a Handy Dandy Countdown:

I am flexible on this Deadline so anything that arrives on this date or by my 9am the next day is allowed (I’m in the GMT timezone BTW)

I am LESS flexible on the Extension Deadline

The Zine will be out before Christmas.  The actual date is flexible and dependant on when all the Submissions come in and my own personal work schedule.

So most of this is the same as the last few - really if it ain’t broke don’t fit it!  Also a polite reminder I am only one person running this and I am a part time Barista.  It may take me a little time to reply to emails/comments especially after the deadline time (when I have the most amount of work to do on this project) so please be patient with me.

Our basic guidelines are the same as before, with just a few minor updates:

This will be:

A Digital Zine containing content created by the fans for the fans

A 100% Free Zine

Preferred Language is English

SFW content suitable for a Y7-PG13 age range (same as the show’s age rating)

You may notice I run this different to other zines as there is no sign up period, just submit work before the deadline - I’d rather people have more time to work on their pieces 

Anyone can submit regardless of age or skill level - this is not a job application - just follow the guidelines and email in your work

Submission can be Fan Writing (poems, fan fiction, character analysis, eassys etc), Fan Art, or even photos of your Entrapdak IRL content (cosplays, fancrafts etc)!  You can submit an older work that you have published online previously if you wish - or even update a work you submitted to the last Zine! Just have fun!

Guidelines applicable to all work:

Content Age Rating:

Like the show this Zine will contain content rated Y7 and PG13 rated - so please no swearing 

There WILL BE NO NSFW or 18+ content - where possible let’s keep this suitable for all ages please 

Sub note on character minimum clothing requirements: 

for male presenting characters to be speedos/underpants

for female presenting characters to be a bikini/bra and underpants 

if not sure please use the female presenting criteria

Theme:

This issue’s theme if you wish to use it is:

“Festive”

This theme is a suggestion and if you’d rather make an Entrapdak piece without this theme please feel free to do so. I want you to have fun!

Allowed Characters:

As long as both Entrapta and Hordak are the main focus and the piece follows Age Rating it will be allowed.

Other allowed characters in the Entrapdak family include Emily, Imp and the Clones (also known as Spacebats)…yes weirdly this also  includes Horde Prime.

Other She-Ra characters will be allowed but Entrapdak is to be the core element.

Phew that’s a lotta text sorry about that - now on to the fun stuff! What sort of stuff is allowed?

Sex Swap AU, Species Swap AU, Furry AU, Toony AU, Anime AU, Fankid AU, Coffee Shop AU, married AU, Spacebat AU, just besties AU just to name the few that pop into my head! Oh yeah Canon Lab Partners Entrapdak too…hehe nearly forgot about that one XD. Make something Entrapdak related that’s PG13 rated and have fun!!

Fan Writing guidelines:

This includes fan fiction, analysis eassys, poetry or whatever else you’d like to write about.  I would ask this content to be between 1k-10k words in length, it’s not a big deal if the writing is over 10k or even if it’s 20k - write whatever your story needs. If you’d like to write Chapters then please do!

Written work can be emailed in the body of text, sent as pdf attachment or as a link to a Google Doc - I can work with any of those.

Please include you name/username somewhere as it helps. If there’s no name on the piece I’ll add one at the start with the title.

Fan Art guidelines:

Fan art can include rough sketches, screencap redraws, comics (appox 1-10 pages length), coloured sketches or full colour pieces. 

Fan art can be in the digital or traditional medium.  

Traditional fan art can either be submitted as a photo or scanned, which ever you prefer.

Preferred sizing for Digital art is as follows, my aim to to have everything on International (UK) A4 paper sizing where possible*

2480px x 3508pm DPI 132 

Portrait layout is preferred**

PNG is preferred but I will understand if you only wish to send a workable JPEG

The aspect ratio (width:height) of A4 paper is 1:1.4142 (1:√2)

Notes: 

*Images outside these sizings are still okay but may end up with a white border on the edges due to the PDF publishing settings.  

**Images in the landscape layout will get boarders when posted on a portrait page due to the PDF publishing settings, however if I receive landscape art I will make some extra pages at the end of the Zine and attempt to turn landscape art into a two page spread (which does look awesome!).

Please make sure to include your Social Media contacts and which name or username you wish to be identified by.  If you forget to include social media details and have been a part of a previous Zine I’ll use the details I have on file 

I will reply to confirm I have received the content and that’s it I take care of the rest!

Please note I DO NOT KEEP any records of anyone’s email addresses.  When the Zine is out I batch delete all emails sent to the email address (this is usually done a week after the Zine is out) and I keep no further records of these address. I respect your email privacy at all times.  

The only records I keep on Zine applications is a private Google Sheet that has the following details: Submitter’s name, rough description of the item submitted and their social media contacts. I’m the only person with access to this Google Sheet as I use this as a Master List reference when compiling the Zine 

FAQs:

Why no Application form?

I don’t want anyone to feel like they are applying for a job here, this is supposed to be fun.

Will there be Guest Artists or Guest Writers?

If they apply sure, I’m not advertising who applies to be a part of this Zine until it’s ready to be published.  I don’t want anyone to feel intimidated just because a certain person has chosen to participate.

Can I submit more than one piece?

If you’d like to certainly!  If you’d like to submit up to three pieces of art and 3 fan writings, sure go for it! I’m certainly not going to stop anyone having a good time

May I post a preview of my work to my Followers?

Sure! Bonus points if you link them to this post so that they can take part if they wish

May I post my work online?

I would ask if you could please wait until the issue featuring your work is published. Of course this does not apply if you are chosen to submit and older work - in this case may I ask that you edit or add to said post to mention the work was also used in the Zine?

Is this only for people with a [insert certain social media account here]?

Nope, this is for anyone who wants to take part.  I only ask for a social media contact so that others who like you work for the Zine may follow you on your preferred social media platform.

Can I send an update to a piece?

Of course! Just let me know which piece you want to use and I’ll update on my end

Can I send another piece on later?

Of course that’s not a problem!

Ah I can’t get this done before the deadline - it’s almost ready!!!  I need another day!!!!

Contact me, either through the submitting email over via my Tumblr or Twitter DMs or just emailing the email address. There is extra time allowed for an extension for anyone who needs it with no questions asked to why it is needed. Just get in contact, I'll put you name on the Extension List and that extra time is yours.  Once all names come in (or the deadline is reached) I will finish up my work and get the zine out. I will not be sending out a further reminder (because I’ll forget sorry 😅).

Intro & Pre-departure:

Hello everyone! My name is Emily Osman, and I am one of the Global Correspondents for the Spring 2023 Semester! I am a junior psychology major studying abroad at Florence University of the Arts (FUA) in Italy. Exactly one week from today I will be on my way to Florence! I have had a countdown widget on my phone for several months ever since I applied to my program, and I cannot believe the time to go has almost come!

Italy has always been my dream destination because it has so much beauty and history, and of course, pizza, pasta, and gelato. And Florence seems like the perfect place to study abroad because it is not as big of a city as Rome is, and it is not too far from other cities I would like to visit in Italy. I chose to study abroad with the Global Partner program SAI because the company has a great reputation and has been leading students throughout the study abroad process for several years.

During winter break, I had a lot of time to prepare for my trip. I have read many blogs with packing lists and helpful travel tips. I’ve made copies of all my important documents, ordered euros from my bank, and I was gifted luggage, adapters, a collapsible water bottle, and a travel backpack for Christmas. Even though I am going to an American university, I have also enjoyed listening to the podcast Coffee Break Italian on Spotify to practice learning Italian.

Overall, I feel very prepared and more excited than I am nervous. Even though it is my first time leaving the United States, I am not too worried because I’m flying with my best friend Emma, who is also one of my roommates in our 5-person apartment! SAI also has everything planned out to ensure that each student has a safe arrival and easy check-in, so that also makes me feel assured. Although it is daunting to move to a new country to spend 15 weeks living there, I know that all the great experiences I will have will outweigh any initial discomfort or homesickness I may face.

Even though I am not usually the biggest fan of change, I have been dreaming about studying abroad since I was in high school. I am very excited to start my classes at FUA and see how they differ from my courses at USC. I am a psychology major, but I am not taking any psychology courses. Instead, I am taking 12 credits of arts and humanities courses to satisfy my Carolina Core requirements and one class that goes toward my Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior minor. I am taking five classes: Ceramics, Ethics and Justice in Food Systems, Cultural Introduction to Italy, Wanderlust: The Physical and Emotional Art of Walking, and Health and Fitness in the Mediterranean. I’m not sure which class I am looking forward to the most, but I think it might be the walking course because we will be walking throughout Florence, and I have never experienced a college course that meets outside of a classroom. I am curious to see what the workload is like and if it will be about the same as what I have taken so far in college or if it will be harder for me to adjust to it.

Hi everybody I had a fantastic time yesterday seeing A Christmas Carol at The Old Vic theatre with my family. It is a fantastic production that will leave you filled with Christmas spirit . Christmas day came and went and soon everyone was ready to ring in the new year and start a new decade.

"Here we are, fresh shrimp" Mary said bringing a plate into the living room and setting in the coffee table.

"Got the champagne on ice" Lizzie said as she brought another plate of food into the living room.

"Where's Vicki?" Mary asked.

"Oh she's upstairs getting ready, she's going to a party at one of her friend's house."

"Oh, that's nice is uh...you know who, taking her?" Mary asked.

"He should be here soon" Lizzie said.

"Should I go get my gun?" Dan asked as he sat in a chair with the remote.

"Daddy, you're almost as bad as Jimmy" Lizzie said to him.

The doorbell rang "There he is" Lizzie said as she opened the door "Well hello there" she said to him said.

"Hi Mrs. McAdams, Happy New Year" he said.

"Happy New Year, well come on in" she said as he stepped in. "she should be down in a minute" Lizzie said to him.

"Hello there" Mary said.

"Oh I want you to meet Vicki's grandparents, this is my mom Mary and my dad Dan, mom dad this is Vicki's friend, Brian."

"Oh hi, nice to meet you" he said shaking their hands.

"Well its a pleasure to meet you" Mary said to him.

"Vicki!" she called up the steps.

"Coming" she said before appearing at the top of the steps in a maroon strapless velvet dress.

"Wow" he said as she came down.

"Hey."

"You look amazing" he said looking at her.

"Thanks" she said.

"Oh Vicki, you look beautiful" Mary said to her.

"Thanks grandma" Vicki said to her.

"You have something that goes over that right?" Dan asked, Mary nudged him.

"Ready?" she asked.

"Oh yeah" he said grabbing her coat.

"Ah not so fast, I want a picture" Lizzie said to them.

"Oh me too" Mary said grabbing her camera.

"Oh god" Vicki groaned.

"Oh its one picture" Lizzie said.

"Its okay" he said to her.

"Smile" she said as the flashes went off "Have a good time, I want you home right after midnight" Lizzie said to her.

"Bye" Vicki said to them.

"Nice meeting you guys" he said as they left.

"Such a sweet boy" Mary said.

"Isn't he? Don't they make the cutest couple?" Lizzie asked.

"Dan?"

"Mm" Dan responded.

"The sandwiches are ready" Lizzie said as they went into the kitchen.

They got to Jason's house and stepped inside people filed in and out of Jason's house as the countdown to midnight played on the TV.

"Vicki!" Emily yelled.

"Hey!" she said hugging her.

"God you look beautiful" Emily said.

"Thanks so do you" she said.

"Want a drink?" he asked.

"Yeah thanks" she said to him as he went into the kitchen.

"Why did we have to come to this party?" Erica asked.

"Yeah what about the party my sister invited us to? It was at the frat house on her campus, college guys Lisa, what are we doing wasting our time here?"

"Will the two of you shut up?!" Lisa asked annoyed "Keep your eye out" she said looking around "Oh there he is" she said reaching for her purse and taking something out.

"So? Did he pass the dad test?" Emily asked Vicki, she laughed.

"I think so, my dad scared him a bit though" Vicki said to her.

"Typical" Emily said to her "Is your dad still in town?"

"No he flew out last night, he said he'd call me tomorrow."

"Okay so...he's met your dad, he's met your grandparents and you two have been attached at the lips for months now, I think you've reached girlfriend territory" Emily said to her.

"Hey J" he said as he went into the kitchen.

"Oh hey you're finally here" Jason said passing out cups "For you?" he asked filling one.

"Two, I need one for Vicki" he said.

"Where is she?"

"Talking to Em."

"So, how'd it go with her dad?" Jason asked him.

"Don't ask, I don't think I've ever been that scared in my life" he said to him "I just met her grandparents too."

"Wow the whole family huh?" Jason asked.

"Tonight's the night J, I'm going to ask her."

"Ask her what exactly?" Jason asked nervously.

"I'm going to ask Vicki to be my girlfriend."

"Really? Finally? When you should've asked her after you guys kissed on Halloween?"

"I'll take that as support, thanks J" he said as Jason handed him his drinks.

"Hey!" Lisa said as he walked towards the living room.

"Oh hey Lisa" he said.

"Hi, Happy New Year!" she said.

"Happy New Year."

"Oh well would you look at that" she said as they looked up "Mistletoe" Lisa said.

"Actually that looks like parsley" he said looking at it as he carefully made his way past her.

"Whoa hey Lisa" Jason said to her "Under the mistletoe huh?" he asked.

"Kiss me and die you little parasite" she said to him angrily before walking away.

As the clock ticked down and midnight grew near, he was growing restless, wanting to ask her the one thing he had on his mind for months.

"Okay everyone its time for the final countdown!" Jason's dad said coming into the kitchen.

"Here you go" Vicki said putting a hat on Brian's head.

"Thanks, hey uh I got to talk to you about something, think we can go outside for a minute?"

"Yeah sure" she said as he led her outside to the deck, Lisa watched them go outside. She then got up and followed them.

"Where is she going?" Erica asked as she went into the kitchen. She stood at the sliding glass doors and watched.

"Okay wow it is really cold out here" she said rubbing her bare arms.

"Oh sorry" he said "Here you go" he said wrapping his jacket around her.

"Thanks" she said putting it on "What'd you need to talk about out here?" she asked wrapping her arms around herself to keep warm, he rubbed her arms for her.

"I just wanted to be alone with you" he said "And I wanted to ask you something" he said. "Come here" he said laughing and pulling her close to keep her warm.

"This is nice" she said as they kissed.

"You, loser boy" Lisa said to Jason.

"You rang?" he asked her.

"What is going on with those two?" she asked as they stood watching from the doors.

"Oh I guess he wanted to do it in private" Jason said.

"Do what?" Lisa asked.

"He's going to ask Vicki to be his girlfriend" Jason said, Lisa scoffed and continued to watch.

"So what'd you want to ask me?" Vicki asked him as he kept her close to him.

"Well..." he said looking at her "I've liked you a lot since the day you moved in, you're fun to be around, you're sweet, you're smart, you're beautiful, you're an amazing person" he said to her. "I want to be with you, I want...will you be my girlfriend?" he asked a smile slowly crossed her face.

"Really?" she asked.

"Really" he said smiling.

"Yes, of course" she said to him.

"Yes? You're saying yes?"

"Yes!" she said laughing.

"Yes!" he said happily, she laughed and they kissed.

"I guess she accepted" Jason said, Lisa clenched her fists together and squealed before leaving. "Hey lovebirds!" Jason said to them "Come on, countdown's starting!" they hurried inside and joined everyone in the living room.

"11!...10!...9!...8!...7!...6!...5!...4!...3!...2!...1!...HAPPY NEW YEAR" everyone yelled.

His arm was wrapped around Vicki's shoulders as her fingers laced with his while he walked her home.

"This is the best new year's I think I've ever had" he said.

"Me too" she said as they stood in the middle of the street when fireworks began to explode in the air. "Oh look at that" Vicki said as they looked up to the sky and watched the colors fade into the sky. "Hey" Vicki said "Happy New Year" she said to him.

Dec 6th - A Christmas Prince

as my catch up on the days i missed for this countdown continues i’ve begun to run out of films that catch my eye and would make some sort of noteworthy review so i’ve deceived to watch a trilogy of films so i don’t need to figure out what different film is next and i can just move onto the next.

“A Christmas Prince” was exactly what i was expecting in most ways and it stayed close to its base concept. a woman with hopes of becoming a reporter at her job is tasked with writing a story on the king-to-be of a small country who’s surrounded by gossip of scandals and of abdication. when she gets there she manages to weasel her way into the palace and get up close and personal with the royal family and ends up falling for the prince she’s writing the article about. she ends up uncovering secrets regarding him that get exposed and he’s no longer going to be king but miraculously at the last moment she finds a loophole in which he can still ascend the throne. and at the end of the day she leaves her job and begins living on cloud nine because her singular blog post did well and she gets the guy.

there’s not much wrong with the film or it’s concept it’s just a matter that i’m not really into it. i just couldn’t connect with the characters and i thought the accents were of the royals a little silly.

there’s a few cute moments in the film such as when Amber sneaks Emily out to go tobogganing to bond and cheer her up that i really enjoyed.

but i’m still confused as to why the film is called “A Christmas Prince” because he’s not a prince by the end of the film and it’s not like he was born at christmas or anything so why is it called that? and all of the subsequent films in the series retain the same title even though he’s no longer a prince. they could’ve named the film something like “A Christmas King” since he’s a king-to-be and he’s crowned king during christmas time which would make much more sense.

i also had a hard time telling Richard and Simon apart most of the time since they both wear suits mainly but from what i’ve seen of the sequel they seem to have changed Simon’s design to where he has stubble, his hair is gelled back and he truly looks like he lost everything in the divorce (which i didn’t even realise he was married in the first place). i also found it weird that he just turned up outside her dad’s diner in new york unannounced and then just proposed to her right then and there. i feel like there wasn’t much build up to that moment so there wasn’t much pay off when she said yes.

overall though i’d rate this film ★★/5 stars
