Putting Terms on the High Shelf: Main Character Syndrome

As I'm watching C2, one thing I've noticed about Caleb's various sidebars to talk to different people is that he's still very much involving them—the conversations reveal various different priorities not just for Caleb, but for the people he's talking with. Liam's RP is often geared toward encouraging character work out of the other players at the table; it's something you see with Vax early on, and it's very present with Caleb.

So I find the accusations and warnings of Liam having Main Character Syndrome, which started during C1 but really ramped up in C2, to be rather shallow. Look at the contrast between the tables during this:

In C1x27, Orion adds pressure to the cast's already-frayed nerves with him, compounded from previous incidents of bad behavior, by taking up several minutes of time purely to himself—his only interaction with anyone else at the table is to ask Keyleth for help with alchemy mechanics (fun fact, early Keyleth was into alchemy!). This included:

An attempt to buy 1500 mirrors to build a light array;

A request to his father to send in his home country's army to Whitestone; and

An attempt to combine a fog spell and a sleep spell after being told point blank that it was mechanically impossible

This was all very obviously an attempt to make himself the hero in what is clearly set up to be a Percy-centric arc. (Worth noting, for the record, is that up to this point Percy had actually had very little focus and largely kept himself in the background, while Tiberius had been in focus for most of the show's run up to that point.) Laura snarks that he's like the giant eagles in Lord of the Rings and can just do everything, and if you actually watch the clip that I've giffed above, Travis's tone is genuinely aggravated. This, by the way, is all after Tiberius was notably not present for Percy revealing his backstory to the rest of the party in episode 24; while everyone else voiced concerns for him and went down to his workshop to check on him, Tiberius largely ignored this and went off to do his own business.

That is a selfish player. That is selfish behavior and a clear example of someone who thinks the story should revolve around them. There are several reasons Orion was asked to leave, not just because he fudged his dice rolls.

C2x62 is a completely different story. None of the conversations Caleb has within that episode are just a way for Caleb to gain information; he's engaging with what the other people are doing. When he asks Nott and Jester about the letter they wrote to Astrid, he reveals a little about himself—something he is particularly reluctant to do with Jester—and they are given an opportunity to respond. His conversation with Beau gives time for both of them to check in on each other and where they're at and lets Beau give her own perspective on the politics of the Empire, the Cobalt Soul, and Xhorhas. The discussion with Fjord lets them both level with each other a little and does more work for Fjord's character, letting him open up about his insecurities and issues, than it does for Caleb's. Caleb is still initiating these conversations and he still gets something out of them, but both the players and the audience still get the benefit of the other characters pushing and pulling against that in response.

Like many terms that get thrown around in this circle ("player agency", "manipulating", "metagaming", "going dark", to name a few), Main Character Syndrome has been so misconstrued and warped to fit a heavily biased perspective as to be almost meaningless. Main Character Syndrome is not when a character initiates a lot of conversations, even if you personally don't like the conversations for whatever reason. Main Character Syndrome is not when a character chooses to take a risk or push a big red button, even if you personally don't like the choice for whatever reason. Main Character Syndrome is not when a character has an arc or aspect of lore heavily focused on them, even if you personally don't like the character for whatever reason. (Particularly considering that arc focus is entirely out of the player's control; Taliesin, Liam, and Laura did not in fact force Matt to focus a significant portion of each campaign's lore on Percy, Caleb, or Imogen's backstories respectively.)

Main Character Syndrome is specifically about player selfishness—it's a player inserting their character into scenes or roles where they do not logically belong in order to make them the center of the story, as we see with the example of Tiberius. The camaraderie at the current table versus what was going on back in 2015 does not suggest that anyone currently sees anyone else like that; everyone is laughing at the jokes made at someone's expense, and everyone is getting something to do. Your favorite character may not always be flashy or in focus all the time, but then again, you wouldn't want them to have Main Character Syndrome, would you?

Dear Zelimir,

We’re coming. Sorry it took almost three decades. Life’s stranger than fiction nowadays and there’s a lot for us to catch up on. Like how I ended up traveling with your murderer to find your resting place, for starters.

Civil war burned Garlemald to cinders, but we survived. Something incomprehensible possessed the world and turned the sky red, but we survived that, too. You always said I was tenacious, but I don’t think you meant it’d be enough to weather two apocalypses.

Somewhere in the middle, we (the Tappers. Sofi misses you too, you know) stumbled on a weird town of magitek, complete with a freaky Overseer, robot farmers, and who knows what else. Was just us at first. Bunch of Garleans joined later. Some of them were the sorriest looking bastards I’d ever seen but some of them were just bastards, so much so that they tried to reestablish Garlemald, shackles and all.

Zelimir, I think you’d be proud to hear that we’re living side by side with many of these bastards now. You shouldn’t be, though. If the Final Days didn’t happen, we’d still be at each other's throats, but we (all of us) lived through some very horrific things. Didn’t know if the next day would be our last, didn’t have the spoons to care about fucking beans when literal depression monsters were hunting us down. Stranger than fiction, again.

I knew Marcellus killed you. I thought about it every day. I thought about it when I led our ragtag band of soldiers to defend our freaky magitek home against even freakier blasphemies, and I threw him into less than favorable fights because of it. You know me. I would’ve killed all the bastards if I had the chance, but...things happened. Hands were tied at the time. I’m bitter about you though, so I had hoped, and figured if he died in combat, well. That’s just war. But being in the trenches changes a man so, yes. He killed you, but he saved me too. Saved Sofi. We saved each other so that we could live another day like cockroaches. That was our new normal, insanity and violence and all.

The Final Days eventually ended, after more wars, more kidnappings, and more shit that flew straight over my head. Giant...spaceship at one point. Man. I don’t even know. Sometimes I want to believe it was all collective madness, but then, I’ll wake up and the signs will still be there. I half expect the skies to turn red again honestly. Peace feels like it could be taken away at any second.

Anyway, Marcellus confessed. Almost three decades later, when there’s practically nothing left of you except for memories, he confessed. Said you didn’t crack and reveal any of the other members of the underground. I hated hearing about it but it’s closure, still. And your body is long rotten and lost, your records wiped and destroyed, but we’re coming anyway, to the place you passed away. So I can say goodbye and Marcellus can...apologize.

You shouldn’t forgive him. He’s an ass. Terrible pokerface, awful taste in beer, his mustache sucks. Thinnest hair I’ve seen on a lip. I haven’t forgiven him and neither should you, but he’s trying, and he needs to live with this. No amount of justice will bring you back, so I guess I’m settling for second best.

These days, I’m restless wondering if this is enough. If this peace is enough, if evil got punished enough, if they’re repentant enough, if I’ll ever be satisfied. There are holes in me where you fit. Where all the good Tappers who died under the Empire fit. Is it fair that your murderer lives? Is it fair that he has a second chance? I don’t think so, but now, he’s a part of me too. There’s a hole where Marcellus would leave, too, and the trenches change a man. They leave you riddled with bullet holes.

I know you had hopes for me and I’ve always tried to live up to them but, Zelimir, maybe the reason I lived and you didn’t is because I’m not good. I want people to suffer as I have. I would’ve executed someone I now care about and been none the wiser. My pain, our pain. It’ll be forgotten one day...maybe recorded in words, but the distance will grow. One day, there won’t be anyone left that knows you personally. Is this a good thing? Is this just the way life is? That we live, just to be forgotten?

I don’t know. Maybe you can tell me.

There’s a lot of traffic in and out of the outlaw haven: ranging from smaller shuttles to larger cargo frigates transporting any number of illicit goods - everything from people to spice and probably a few things even the former Cipher hadn’t considered. Tyr wiped an arm across his brow and took up his canteen again, taking a long drink before throwing some of the barely-cool water back over his neck, dampening the bandana loosely draped around it.

He’d been eyeing traffic for roughly the past three days. After several months in careful exile, evading Imperial and Republic eyes while putting their noses to the trail of the Revanites, the trio had finally agreed it was time to move. Tyr suspected they wouldn’t much longer have the luxury of time - as illusionary as it’d been from the start.

But the roar of engines overhead dragged him back out of his thoughts. Shading his eyes from the glare of the sun with a hand, a different silhouette, finally, caught his attention. Not nearly as sleek as the Phantom - then again, few things were. His eyes narrowed slightly and he raised the macrobinoculars at his side to zone in on the incoming ship.

“Theron?” Tyr touched a hand to his commlink. The ship was coming in for a landing down at one of the free local docks across the bridge.

“Go ahead.”

“Defender-class Light Corvette?”

“Should be the one, yeah.”

“Good. I’ve got a visual.” Tyr lowered the macrobinoculars, stashing them away and making ready to abandon his perch in a quiet old shopfront in Rishi’s upper levels. “Tell Lana to make ready. It’s time.”

He was not about to stop ribbing Theron for the overblown cover story just because the Jedi had finally made it down to Rishi and in one piece, at that. Really, it felt a little like overcompensating to paint the Red Hulls (and what kind of kriffing name was that?) as almost obnoxiously bloodthirsty, but then Nine supposed they were dealing with one of the Jedi Order’s finest, according to the records.

Still, Lana had reasoned too direct of an intercession on any of their parts might overplay their hand, so Tyr had begrudgingly ceded to tracking the Jedi’s progress through Raider’s Cove from a shadowed distance. It had, to be fair to the Jedi, gone somewhat better than the ex-Cipher had anticipated.

“Theron and Lana finally finish giving you the basics?” Tyr pushed away from where he’d had a shoulder propped into the wall in one of the back corners of the safehouse. He admittedly wasn’t certain where his presence would be the least unnerving - out in the open of their briefing or hanging back in the shadows; either way, the last thing they needed was to be at each other’s throats. Everything had worked out well-enough prior on Manaan and following, but Nine’s involvement had largely been on the back-end. Lana had given enough to say he had, at one point at least, been one of the Empire’s top spies and Tyr couldn’t find himself keen to expand into too much detail. He had a promise to Ardun Kothe to maintain and an already sketchy job security to juggle with the Dark Council following action on Corellia.

Still, even that vague allusion to what he was wasn’t a reputation he expected to put many at ease.

So he’d seen little of Hyroh Kaah, in the grand scheme of things. Enough to confirm Theron’s reports that he was a capable ally in a fight for himself.

“I’m not sure we were properly introduced. For now, you can call me Nine.” An old title for an agency that no longer existed, and yet it seemed the Empire was still a bit too keenly relying on, if you asked him. Marr hissed a lot behind that mask for someone that hadn’t revoked his clearances until he’d gone and stuck his nose yet again where it didn’t “belong,” as if tracking enemies of the Empire hadn’t always been his job.

Not that it was the first time.

He offered out a hand, nonetheless, should the Jedi be amenable to the greeting. “Theron’s asked me to bring you up to speed on the details of our operations here. Expect him to be handling a lot of the technical back-end. I’ve been putting in some fieldwork while we waited for your arrival, so I’ll be acting as one of your ‘lieutenants.’” When they were ready, he tilted his head to indicate the hall and started to lead them back.

“We’re a lot closer than we were months ago when we went into hiding, but as the others said, I’m sure, we can’t act openly - yet. Hence the convincing command structure. We’re going to pick a fight with the Nova Blades - and it’s not going to be about the Revanites.” Yet, anyway.

“And... we’re going to want to get you something a bit more... fitting.” He threw a nod to one of the open doors and leaned back against the wall in the hallway. “Theron’s prepped a room for you, should be a few options for some ‘local’ style. I’d suggest changing into something a bit more ‘comfortable.’” A slightly amused smile flickered across the Cipher’s lips. “Not all of us can rely on your Force, and not all of our targets are going to be as hapless as Kai Zykken, even if we could. Make it something convincing, if you will, Jedi. We can talk details while I wait.”

I am here to deliver two things. First one is a promise (I think?) and the second one is me combining hermits/empire characters into Six The Musical as I am currently hyperfixated on both.

Alrighty, first order of business. If Scar wins this next round against Doc, his toughest opponent probably, I will either make the completed Contract oneshot I was writing (5k word minimum although it’s gonna be more around 10k prolly) or I write a 5k word minimum oneshot of the Oasis Au. I really need Scar to win ok?

Now onto the Six x Hermit/Empires.

I do want to clarify, that I am, indeed, talking about the musical and not the actual wives, but the way how the musical portrays them. Furthermore, I know there’s kinda two versions on Spotify, the recorded and the live. I’ll be talking similarities to the live unless stated otherwise. Also, I completely understand that these are all gonna be super unpopular opinions but I wanted to share.

Here’s the little list of who I assigned to who first and foremost.

Catherine of Aragon - Tango

Anne Boleyn - Scott

Jane Seymour - Gem

Anne of Cleves - Ren

Katherine Howard - Scar

Catherine Parr - Pearl

Now for me to explain myself

I chose Tango for Aragon mainly due to how she acts throughout the entire musical. She lets her emotions lead her mainly, quick to anger or to resort to violence. Not to mention her way of talking just screams Tango to me. And I’m not saying Tango is quick to anger, but the rage thing y’know. Plus, I could totally see him singing No Way for some reason.

My second choice for her would be Sausage, but I definitely feel like Tango just carried more of her energy.

Scott and Boleyn are honestly so alike it’s not even funny. They both just try having a good time but are so extremely petty. Like Boleyn never letting anyone forget she no longer has a head and Scott would probably hold things over people’s heads. But yeah, so similar personality wise although, I’d argue Scott is a little more patient.

Second choice was Grian cuz he’s short.

Next up we have Gem and Seymour! Seymour’s song is extremely emotional and moving (despite the fact I dislike it until like halfway) and in my opinion, Gem’s someone who expresses their love easily. And she is also strong, her love for people unwavering what ever gets thrown at her, she is just an endless ball of love. I dunno where else I was going with this.

Katherine was my second option, but I felt like she’d have a more kickass version of the song.

(This is embarrassing but I wrote everything else before realizing I forgot Cleves and Ren. Lmao) So, again, I am goung based off the live version of Get Down and just Cleves in general. Her character acts pretty dramatic, like when she was pretending to have a terrible life. And then her song is just really fun and upbeat. And well, obviously Ren is someone who likes being dramatic and doing bits of rp and is also really chipper and overall always seems to be having a good time.

Now you might be thinking Doc would be my second choice since he’s German. However it was Etho. However, I thought Etho fit better with the recorded version rather than the live.

Now you may be wondering how I got Howard and Scar instead of Howard and Grian. And the answer is quite simple, because I want to. Anywho, obviously Scar is extremely attractive so obviously people would wanna hit that. And well, ig this kinda goes into DL, but Scar kinda becomes resentful with Grian abusing his kindness by having a secret soulmate just like how Howard becomes resentful of just being used as a plaything.

Grian was my second option cuz of Ariana Griande.

And Lasty, Parr and Pearl. Both of these women are so strong and amazing for what they had to endure. Going into DL again, Pearl deals with her soulmate abandoning her by loving something else and becoming independent while Parr has to give up her life for survival. Both of them are just so strong.

And actually, can’t lie, Grian’s my second option here again too. Why? Well actually, it’s cuz of the need to survive. Grian always feels the need to please others to better his chance of survival through allies just like how Parr had to please the king in order to live.

I know it isn’t the best arguments, and I’m sure y’all could find better people to pair. However, that’s just what I thought of and since I’m a maladaptive daydreamer, I think of this too often I had to share.

Cuspbloods

There are a few weird/cool/funny aspects that I found badass in my world and am proud to retell and take feedback with an understanding ear and take notes. This goes for AU ideas, RPs, and ships. But the subject today will be Cusps Bloods! That’s right, my favorite HS-related subject, consider that I am a real-life cusp baby myself. I rarely see Cuspblood fantrolls, except for a few homies in this community, and I like to do my take on them since I love Cusps. And after finding out based on my B-Day that I'm on the cusp of Cancer & Leo, Im a bit bias if I see a hot ass Cuspblood.~ I will be explaining my take on Cusps, some cool types of them, and how they are seen in the Empire and trolls around.

Note: Some color names/hex codes are based around Fir3h34rt's Hemospectrum Chart and named colors on Encycolorpedia These are my headcanons and are open to anyone to join in on the wacky fun. And when blending colors, I use this online color blender, but you are free to use any other one of your choice. But, if you find another online color blender, please let me know so I can have backup sites to use just in case the current one shutdown.

What Are Cuspbloods?

Well, depends on the definition of cusp you choose, but when dealing with Homestuck, it would be based around the mixture of definitions 1 & 3 for the word cusp when searched on google.

Cuspbloods are trolls whose blood colors transition between two blood castes colors, resulting in new colors and hues, never before seen on Alternia. They are sorta rare, the likelihood of a grub hatching as a Cusp is very slim, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. There are a few Cuspbloods that are in hiding, roaming the streets of Alternia. Either as a Hemo Anon or in plain sight, they can easily be spotted if one is knowable enough to know the telltale signs. Sectoral heterochromia in the eyes is common with Cuspbloods as they reveal the two colors that are used to make their shade, so looking at their eyes can be a dead giveaway (Unless they wear contacts to hide it).

Cuspblood Type & Grouping

There are different groups and sub-categories to the Cusps, these were made to help the Empire record, analyze, and sort these trolls in a more organized manner.

You have True [T] and Fraction [F] Groups, these are cusps whose blood color make-up is analyzed based on the percentage. True Cusps are Cuspbloods whose blood is made evenly, an exact 50/50 make-up of the two blood castes. When this happens, this means the blood was fully compatible with each other and is less likely to suffer blood-related ailments. An example of one is Shuruo.

He is a mixture of Aster #6c00b2 (purple) and Azure #5519ff (Indigo/Blue). Which creates his shade, Han Purple #610DD9

Fraction Cusps are Cusps Bloods with an imbalance between the caste colors that make up their blood. These Cusps are known to have a plethora of medical issues due to this, which in most cases can lead to most of them dying before hatching from their eggs. But, the few that do survive can go on living normally, but requiring more frequent check-ups. An example of one is Voluma.

Voluma is 75% Volkswagen Monarch Red #4e182b (Rust) and 25% Volkswagen Ultra Maroon #7c0000 (Fuschia). Which creates her shade, Pink Raspberry #980036. Voluma suffers from a disorder similar to Hemophilia due to her imbalance and is required to take meds for it.

Now to break it down further is the color combination types within Cusps Bloods. Whatever the placement of the colors on the hemospectrum is will determine the combination type. And here are the main combinations:

Harmony [H] - Two caste colors right next to each other in the hemospectrum are used. They are most likely to fall into True Cusp grouping due to the closeness of the colors on the spectrum, and they are more likely to be Lowblood Cusp. These combinations are very common among Cusps. They are based on how the real astrological cusp works. Example: Shuruo

Doubles [D] - Caste colors that are 2 castes away from each other in the hemospectrum. Also known as the "Dulling Doubles", some of these turn out desaturated and dull in color, which is a clear giveaway to Cusp trolls.

Chaotic [C] - When Lowblood castes (Rust-Lime*) and Highblood (Fuchsia-Indigo) caste colors mix. They are sometimes called "Oddities", which to some Cusps is a derogatory against their muddier hues, these are the most likely to be in the Fraction Cusp Group. Example: Voluma

ACC [ACC/A]- It stands for "Additional Coloration Combination". These are for schemes that are yet to be named, don't fit the other schemes, or involves blood hues made with hues that are not in the hemospectrum (Mutantbloods).

*Note: Yes, Im including Lime cause fuck you, we're making a comeback.

For each Cuspblood hatched they are given a special code that shows what group, type, and color they are.

Example: Shuruo's would TH#610DD9, T is for True Group, H is for Harmony Color Combination, and then end with the Hex code of the color. Voluma's would be FC#980036, F is for Fraction Group, C is for Chaotic Color Combination, and then her color's hex code.

Some ramblings about Europa Universalis and history

I was supposed to continue with that Poland playlog but, ironically, the process of recording and maintaining a playlog made me want to play the game in a different file I didn't have to playlog in. Which then ended up becoming my focus. I'll talk about it a bit.

I chose to play Tibet for similar reasons that I chose to play Poland; it's a country that has been large and powerful in the past, but eventually became sandwiched between greater powers and divided up between them. Trying to understand how and why this happened and RP preventing it was a way for me to try feel less uneasy the reality of what this game generally expects you to engage in, expansionist violent conquest.

My Tibet game has gone pretty well, I finished the mission tree and have become an Empire. I control pretty much all of the Himalayas, and a significant amount of surrounding territory, along with Bengal, parts of western China and Vietnam. There were a lot of interesting stories in how it all unfolded, but I'm not here to relay those right now.

After I finished my mission tree (which mostly provides free permaclaims to old territory under the control of the ancient Tibetan Empire), I began to heavily invest in development of the country. Tibet is now a very rich Buddhist Theocracy ruled by a Dalai Lama, with the Clerical Estate privilege of "Inwards Perfection" which provides negative penalties for declaring war or taking provinces in peace deals, but improves your country's internal developments.

I built a strong Navy and developed even my expensive to develop mountain provinces till they became rich too. I have level 8 mountain forts with ramparts at all entrances to my country (invaders are losing thousands of men a month trying to get inside). I am allied with Russia, who has the largest army in the world (who trust me a lot because I helped them reach the Pacific Ocean). I have been vassalising small countries in the Indian subcontinent and throwing my boundless excess money at them in subsidies to help them thrive. I have gifted money to nearby South East Asian countries to help them resist European Colonisers and I recently stood up to the combined might of Spain and France to prevent them from taking the land of small two province minor who would have certainly folded immediately (their other nearby ally abandoned them when France declared war, the AI knew it would be a stupidly hard war). I vassalised that country afterwards because me protecting them overcame their relations malus of Tibet being of a different religion.

This feels…good? I'm achieving positive things instead of just it being a series of bloody conquests?

But to get to this position, I had to go to war a lot. And I had to convert many provinces to Vajrayana Buddhism to maintain unity (being of a different sect was not permissible by the mission tree). Without conquest, I would have been stuck as a small poor country that hung onto independence by being hard to invade in the mountains till eventually the rest of the world developed more advanced military technology and capacity to sustain massive armies to override my natural defensive advantages. And I had to rely on the help of a gigantic Russia who colonised all of Siberia and is partaking in colonising South East Asia as much as it can get away with too.

It's made me have to step back and think a bit about why I'm even doing any of this. I worry I'm trying to give myself "clean" excuses to play a game about a topic I fundamentally dislike engaging with. And I'm unsure of where I stand on how I'm supposed to really interpret periods of history involving conquest and colonialism. Today I also realised I was kidding myself by thinking diplomatic annexation was a way of forming peaceful unions, you get a diplomatic reputation penalty and you upset your other subject nations by doing it. You're basically taking the land by force but the other country's government chooses not to say no. There is no real way to play this game without getting your hands dirty.

In the past, I had probably a pretty simplistic view of these topics as "things that happened in the past were bad and we try not to do that anymore". But playing this game has made me have to grapple with how concepts we established to bind our groups together (religion, cultural and ethnic identity, etc), a way for us to overcome small differences more and thrive as slightly larger communities just, stop working at a certain point because they ran into other communities that developed differently enough that they weren't compatible without some compromises. And generally those compromises were "do not interact" (not always viable when resources are scarce) or "war". The concept of a universal shared humanity as an alternative took centuries to become something people could unite around.

When your society essentially maintained and developed it's existence on the basis of opposing those outside the ingroup to achieve stability, the historical outlook on humanity seems pretty bleak, it feels like we were always doomed to have to commit atrocities en masse to get to a point we could stop committing atrocities. (not that we aren't still committing atrocities…).

I realise this has been a bit of a rambling post. I don't really have a solid answer for some of these thoughts yet but I wanted to get some of them out somehow, somewhere. I think we are making progress, generally, but I do not want to end up in a perspective where I view horrible things in history as "good actually, because it was part of progress in the grand scheme of things". But I'm also reluctant to view us as inevitably doomed to have been warmongerers. Trying to find a balanced perspective in the midst of this is really hard.

Made contact with and on her demise took the spirit of Hanka, the wife of a deposed Albanian Bey in the late 18th century. Haka proved a cunning and bold woman, one Hel would have been honored to count among her ranks. All Hanka asked in exchange was that Hel give her family power to reclaim their lands and avenge their lost patriarch, especially for the sake of her ten year old son, Ali. Hel granted certain favors to the band of brigands that the mortal woman assembled, and in turn pointed the eyes of the Empire towards the young lion that Ali would become as he came of age. After that, she needed to do little, as the man made a name for himself as a fierce warrior and vassal to the Sultan. Regardless of her lack of influence over his adulthood, she was a passing figure in Ali’s court, always welcomed as a valued guest when she traveled the north of Greece. When he was executed for his rebellion against the Empire in 1822, Hel turned her guidance towards his youngest child per RP lore. Haydee was especially doted upon and cherished by Hel upon the teenager’s arrival in Europe over a decade later, likely due to her resemblance in spirit to her fierce father and unrelenting grandmother. Well, that and one can debate endlessly how much of herself Hel saw in the dutiful daughter moving Heaven and Hell and enduring any indignity for the chance to avenge her beloved father. It is uncertain whether Hel continued to provide patronage to Haydee’s descendants, as all of her children were adopted, but given Hel’s own stance on blood bonds, it seems likely she continues to provide at least blessings towards the family into the modern era. The only exception to this would be if Hanka bound the pact to her own blood, at which point Haydee’s descendants are on their own regardless of Hel’s feelings.

Made contact with and offered succor to the daughter of a French executioner in the 17th century, keeping up an interpersonal relationship even after the young woman’s marriage to a soldier. When called upon to keep watch over her companions son and descendants, Hel accepted. This is how she became a patron of the infamous Sanson family of executioners. What details exist of this arrangement are scarce, but it can be assumed the goddess offered some knowledge, power, or protection to the family over the centuries that followed. Her most integral relationship of the Sansons might be with their best known member Charles-Henri, the Royal Executioner during the French Revolution. It is known that during the Terror, Hel kept to rooms that overlooked the scenes of executions, and she claimed she was conducting some research in her unflinching vigil over human ugliness. Charles-Henri might have been her favorite of the family, but the line continued as executioners through his son, an his grandson, before the family lost their role as executioners.  It is unlikely her patronage extended past this point, ending a 159 year arrangement between the divine and the wretched. It is also unlikely that Hel collected the souls of any of the Sansons for her army, but rather forged a deal for knowledge in exchange for whatever the family gained from her as their divinity incognito.

Both agreements came about in the same relative stretch of time, forged less than a century apart and both having potentially ended in the late 19th century. From this, one might assume she was only open to such arrangements during a very specific ‘dead’ period in her time on Midgard. However, this ignores that she had been attempting to make deals during the 9th century (Ivar the Boneless, exact deal status unknown) and in the 15th century (Vlad Dracula, who denied her offer for alliance.) It is more likely that Hel has been extending her hand to mortals across the centuries, and that Hanka and the Sansons are simply the most recent of her deals, and thus better recorded than those who came before them.

It's mixed with bricks and shit but mostly wood. Norwegian houses some house is built from bricks mainly this one is mainly wood. Real actual woods. you can hear that wood sound as well when you walk on the stairs. It's very good quality. almost a cabinet house. My house is big hard get hot my fireplace is not that big but apparently according to my landlord that fireplace is real rock it should make the apartment heated up real quick. But since it's small I have to burn some wood for hours in order it heats up the whole living room and my setup room door open.

While waiting I went to empire nyc i got my prior again. I was there months ago I left because the city was in pretty bad shape before Duy took over. seem he has fixed a lot of issues. I only have contact with my brother. In put short context me and my brother grow up together main reason I got into video games.
