On the left, medusa, which in D&D is a whole species. They're transformed from people, so normal person height range. The serpents are venomous if that's your thing, but perfectly under control if not. Some versions have serpentine bodies to constrict with, and of course they have a gaze that can petrify! That's not necessarily a downside, could just be an excuse for a blindfold.

On the right, Empyrean! Titanic godlings, we're talking 20-30 foot (6-9 m) range. The world around them bends to thier mood, so everything will be idyllic! Well, as long as you can handle the unbridled emotion and hubris of a greek god.

Actually obsessed with the idea of Draxum being cured of the empyrian and just being HORRIFIED about what he’s done. Like having to deal with the fact that HIS ACTIONS reduced Donatello, a genius kid made to be a warrior, into such a genuine unstable mess of a person. Having to live with the fact that he RUINED a child like that. OBSESSED.

Not gonna lie I’m obsessed with this too. Like I love when a character commits atrocities that they have to find some way to live with. And if Leo won’t be at fault for anything he did, then how can we say Draxum is?

And if we’re talking canon Draxum (or a Draxum never poisoned by the empyrean) I honestly think Donnie takes after him the most out of all the boys, and Donnie would’ve thrived under Draxum in any other situation. Draxum would’ve been amazed at not just Donnie’s mind but also his fighting ability. I mean in the first episode we see Donnie practically taking on Draxum solo—only getting stopped when Mikey crashes into him. So while I think Draxum would’ve been impressed with all of them, I really think Donnie really would’ve outshone his brothers.

It’s just bad fortune.

So it makes me wanna explore how that whole mess might work eventually, even tho I was so against it since the beginning I obviously wasn’t planning on that path. But he’d have some bad side effects, and it wouldn’t be a totally clear road but maybe we can work something out. It would be so interesting, I feel.

Who do y'all think knows/has realized Violet and Xaden are able to speak through a mental bond?

Throughout both books we get a lot of instances were they're just silently discussing with one another and everyone is looking at them like "wtf?" but no one seems to realize they can *actually* mind speak

My guesses: Liam definitely knew. Either he put it together or Xaden actually told him, because from the start he makes faces at them like he totally knows what they're doing.

Brennan is smart, and Violet tells him about how they're able to sense each other through the bond (does everyone else know that? because i thought that was also a secret. I had forgotten Brennan knew until recently). If he knows that much, it can't be hard to put the other part together?

This might be a little plot hole (or not, and it will get answered later) but Tairn mentions only some riders with mated pairs get that mind bond, so leadership has to know about the possibility. I really do not understand how haven't they ever asked Violet about it? Or did they and I didn't notice?

Lastly, Violet showed Dain the memories of Resson. She used the bond with Xaden a few times during battle and when Liam died, wouldn't Dain have seen it? But he has never said anything about it? Or for plot's sake are we pretending Violet avoided those parts?
