Bruno's vision didn't see the whole picture. Sure, it saw the cracks on the walls of Encanto, but it didn't see the very thorns that were once controlled by the lovely Isabella causing it.

It showed Maribel standing in front of the house, but it didn't show the power that she now held... but now, as her family stared at the young woman in fear, cowering away from her, it was more than clear that it was too late... they were doomed, and there was no one to blame but themselves.

However, something - no, someone completely unexpected came to protect the family. The only member still with their power. The very same one that had been shunned until he disappeared.

"Bruno!"

"We don't talk about-" Abuela's face was shoved forward to catch sight of her only son's face, making her gasp. "Hijo!" She gasped. He put a finger to his lips and indicated his niece silently.

Maribel's face snapped back to where everyone was gaping, but her uncle had disappeared...

"Ah-ah," she tutted, waggling a finger at her family. "We don't talk about Bruno."

félix being shorter than pepa is an amazing detail in encanto.

for a long time there has been this idea that in a heterosexual relationship, the man must be taller than the woman. and in general men have always been ridiculed or shunned for displaying typically “feminine” or woman-like features, and this is very prominent in regards to height. short men have been seen as lesser, as not “manly” bcus women are typically viewed as being shorter than men and small in general - short men are more often than not the centre of a joke due to not fitting in to this stereotype/expectation of needing to be tall.

masculinity has always been defined as being the tall macho tough guy. being tall has always connoted masculinity. men who fail to adhere to this or men who just aren’t masculine (even though it is out of their control) are often ridiculed. it’s basic toxic masculinity.

this is something media and the word in general has ingrained in us. that men should be tall. and that the taller u are, the more masculine u are.

but félix is shorter than pepa, by a lot.

and the difference is between this and other media with shorter men, is that it isn’t made a big deal out of. there isn’t this whole play on the fact that félix is shorter.

“oh félix ur shorter than ur wife u must feel so bad and embarrassed abt that”. “félix ur so short for a man haha”. there is none of that, not even a hint. félix isn’t ridiculed for his height. there are no short jokes. there is nothing claiming that this height difference takes anything away from félix’s masculinity or manhood or general character. it isn’t even mentioned. attention is never drawn to it.

félix doesn’t become a joke over his height. he is just short.

it isn’t mentioned. it isn’t played upon. it’s just a natural fact.

that’s one of the things i love so dearly abt encanto, is that so many subtle stereotypes were broken but not in a way where it becomes a joke. nor is it only used to attract audiences from these broken stereotypes. encanto shows realism in the characters. they have real features. they aren’t built upon stereotypes and societies impossible expectations. they are varied and different and real. and it isn’t used as bait to get audiences who may relate to watch (if it was they would’ve drawn attention to félix’s height). it’s simply reflecting the real world, naturally.

it just is - bcus that’s what the world looks like. it’s real and it’s natural and it reflects reality. and there is nothing more to it.

Where have I been?

Hello everyone,it's Libby here,and I'm back!

Well,kinda..

When I started this tumblr acc I was so excited to get requests,write and do so much more,but as time has gone on,and my lack of attention to work and much more,I have decided that, untill further notice this ACC is now closed..I tried so hard to keep up,but sometimes,when things come and go,so does hobbies and interests and much more.

Now,I'm not leaving the app,I still enjoy reading fanfic and much more but I'm pulling away from the written,it was fun while it lasted but now,I think I've just grown up a little bit,and I've realized that now I'm not struggling as much as I was before when I started,when I had SO much time on my hands to push out things for people,but at last. My time here has come to a short end..but hey,who says I won't be back in June? Who knows,maybe I got more planned for June! No one knows..and what's funny..I don't even know.

But for now,this chapter is the end..the end for awhile at least..thank you all for everything..but now,I must go work on other projects to be seen somewhere else..for now..this is goodbye <3

Okay hear me out, after the events of Encanto Mirabel is always there when Bruno does his whole vision shebang because she can help him see the good. It’s shown that Bruno doesn’t always see everything in his visions because Mirabel is the one who points out the butterfly so I think this isn’t the first time there’s been more to his visions that he hasn’t seen. His vision about Dolores having a love just out of reach comes true but she also ends up with him at the end so maybe he could have seen something else the same with how his vision of casita breaking also had the elements of Mirabel fixing everything, he just couldn’t see it. So whenever he does visions now Mirabel sits with him and points out things that he doesn’t manage to see and it’s adorable I also think it would be really cute if you had little Mirabel wandering around while he’s doing his visions and chasing the butterfly or whatever other thing there is that he misses
