I think the hardest thing in writing for me sometimes is the like “show don’t tell/let people communicate through subtext/Normal People don’t just walk around openly explaining their motivations for everything That’s Unnatural” thing because like.. I literally DO walk around openly explaining my motivations for everything, that is how I talk, I am an analytical detail oriented over-communicator who explains everything as thoroughly as possible and and will give a fully detailed 2 minute long answer to something simple like “how are you doing today?” .. like it’s hard to make things sound Natural and Normal when you yourself are inherently unnatural and abnormal in your methods of communication to an extent lol

I'm fine. don't worry about it.'' abnormal answer (how I would respond): ''Yeah I #'m mostly fine. I was just thinking about what the future is going to be like 30 years from now and if I'll ever actually accomplish anythin #g that I want to. which makes me feel X way for XYZ reason. you see because I had a dream last night that made me think of *continues to exp #lain my exact emotional state and inner thought process completely matter of factly in exact detail for 5 more minutes* #tfw you would be a badly written character if you existed in a story lol #This is also why I struggle making conflict because most conflicts can be resolved through conversation and I personally love to have long #detailed conversations about everything. 'sure. sounds good.' like LITERALLY. lol #it is so hard for me to write characters who are bad communicators or don't understand their own internal states or arent constantly #analyzing their own actions to understand what they do/don't feel and why and what the cause of it is and etc. etc. etc. #I just naturally want everyone to perfectly undertsand everything and communicate amazingly and have complete self awareness and #logical presence of mind gjhbj.. which like.. of course comes across as unnatyural and also those type of people rarely ever get involved in #conflict and conflict is APPARENTLY what drives stories (even though I don't like most conflicts and just want to resolve them lol) so ...aa #I mean you can get around this to some degree by the fact that (at least in my opinion) no rule for dialogue is 100%. dialogue is good if it #sounds naturally like it comes from the character who said it. It can be meandering and pointless and rambly IF that matches the character. #it can be dry and overly self aware IF your character is that way and it suits them. So like throwing in a few detached scholar types or lik #e '5000 year old cave dwelling hermit' type people is good for me and works BUT the thing is an ENTIRE cast of characters can't be that way. #at some point - even in a setting where everyone is reserved and academic (like a research camp in the wilderness full of scholars and stuff #) still SOMEBODY has to be the one who's conflict prone and doesn't pristinely understand all of their emotions and etc. etc. Because statis #tically that is still literally the majority. Kind of like my tendency to make everyone 100% aromantic and asexul when it's like.. YES.. may #be 2 or 3 or even 4 out of 10 of them could be that way. but like.. an entire group? a diverse group of 10 people from all walks of life and #EVERY single one is like that??? hgjh . you have to add realistic variety #As much as I'm pro 'have more stories where sex or romance are literally NOT involved at all in any capacity since it's already oversaturate #d in media' I'm also dedicated to realism. alas. (at least as realistic as you can get in a fantasy setting lol)

every time i open tumblr i end up seeing a post or something or other that triggers my intrusive thoughts again. i really wanna come back but it’s becoming really difficult to manage to open up this site and feel happy about being here.

id like to discuss Badboyhalo and language learning on the qsmp for a moment. A lot of both creators and audience members are always so surprised when Bad says he’s learning then asks him to speak. They can also compare a lot that he’s not trying as hard as Foolish.

I feel language learning is never given the respect at how long it takes to learn. How I began learning was when I realized I had already learned a language once and to compare it to that. Bad is only a few months old in learning spanish. The first year of language learning is being able to make sense of when words and sentences end, your lucky to get a few words in and thats it. Foolish is a year old so he’s recognizing those patterns and is now starting to put words together but of course its through fumbling and a lot of effort, and its nothing to compare to someone who has been learning 5 years or greater. They are both babies. But they are both learning and trying.

there is alot of understandable animosity surrounding why English is the largest second language. An important note surrounding culture (separated from the charged negative) whatever is ‘popular’/forced/expected of you in a culture will be easier to achieve then going against that culture. Having to go outside your culture to learn another can alienate you from your own so most dont, and thats not that they dont care or wont come to care but for anyone across the globe reason is the motivation for learning. Friendship with Quackity motivated Foolish and Bad to learn. Them not knowing prior is a culture thing (again not talking about how its unfortunate on how it is just what is). Both are very happy to learn but again its not something you just say ‘Im gonna learn’ and then know instantly it takes way more time then is given. Foolish and Bad are babes in language learning, Foolish is just learning how to walk and Bad is rolling trying to learn to crawl. And thats perfect!

I can understand the hurt from other speaking cultures as their lack of knowledge comes as a reminder of some awful history, which can be difficult to separate but they are individuals, lovely individuals who are trying to learn beyond the culture they are a part of but it doesn’t happen fast the effort however is the same, they are trying happily.

every single bilingual and trilingual and more on the server is absolutely incredible and to be celebrated! Thats years and years of learning that Im always wowed by and is deserving of more praise then I feel is given. By celebrating those ahead in language learning we can also inadvertently recognize how difficult it is as an achievement and not put such unachievable expectations on those starting their journey. I imagine a lot of folks are starting their language journey because of the qsmp and Id like them not to be discouraged by where they’re at because it does take time but it is possible so long as they stay at it.

so yeah Bad can only say hola, ci, como estas, bein, no manches. And he wont be able to say much more until maybe 6 months more in the future by which point he’ll probably be able to say a handful of words and 2 years from now he’ll be putting together a few sentences. Bad wont be conversational until 4 years more (so long as he keeps at it) but if he does? Thats when all that effort really comes to fruition and is so exciting and you still feel like a dork because you cant talk philosophy or business but you can put together basic conversation and wow looking back to when you began its incredible, and learning accelerates so much faster beyond year 5 thats when its really exciting!

language learning is no small feat. keep at it and celebrate where you’re at because so long as you keep trying you will get there it just takes time :)

You were Peach’s distant cousin, the two of you haven’t had contact since you were little kids.

And thats why you were so surprised whenever you got a letter from your cousin, asking for your help with the whole Bowser situation.

Even though you two weren’t close you still couldn’t sit back and let innocent lives get taken.

So you hopped on your motorcycle and made your way to the Mushroom Kingdom.

When you arrived, Peach’s mouth was agape.

She hadn’t seen your face since you were at least six years old, and you had changed.

Like really changed.

You had a rather revealing black skin tight dress that was just a little below your thighs, a smokey eye with dark red lipstick, and you had a cool ass bike.

Your current style wasn’t a bad thing, in fact you looked incredibly hot, it was just very shocking.

You smiled brightly and waved at your cousin and the little man beside her.

“It’s been a while! And who’s this little guy? He’s adorable~.” You chuckled.

“Uh I-I’m Mario.” He said with an awkward smile.

You and Peach took a few minutes to catch up on each other, almost forgetting about Bowser before Mario interrupted your little girl talk.

“Are we gonna get going or…?”

Peach nodded and agreed that it would be best to head over to the jungle kingdom, you could catch up later.

You thought the trip to the Jungle Kingdom was miserable since you couldn’t take your bike, meaning you had to go on foot and you were not dressed properly for a hiking trip.

But you got to know Mario and Toad which made the journey more bearable.

When you all got to the Jungle Kingdom Mario agreed to fight with the kings son which you thought was a stupid decision, but you weren’t gonna say that to his face.

You took a seat next to Peach and waited for the fight to begin.

The crowd broke out into yells as the kings son revealed himself with confidence, he was quite showy.

But he was cute as hell.

He was eagerly trying to get his dad to wave back at him, doing a little dance and showing off his muscles in the process.

His eyes met yours and his whole demeanor had changed.

He had never seen anyone like you before, in such a colorful world he had never seen someone who looked so dark, it intrigued him.

You giggled and winked at him before blowing him a kiss.

He smirked and turned around, giving his attention back to Mario and the fight.

Mario ended up winning the fight, which you did not expect at all, but his victory means that we Peach now has the help of the Kong army.

After the fight was over you figured you would pay Donkey Kong a visit since his ego was destroyed in front of everyone.

You entered the little hut on the water and found him sitting in his hammock, looking kinda sad as he looked up at you.

“It’s you.” He whispered, he stood up from his hammock and puffed out his chest to look confident.

“Are you okay, Monkey boy?” You asked.

“Yeah! Yeah I’m fine….I let him win.”

You smile at him and softly grab both of his cheeks and analyzing his bruises and scratches from the fight.

“Damn, he got you pretty good.”

He felt embarrassed as he let you look at all his wounds, the marks of his defeat.

Slowly you leaned in and kissed the cheek where Mario scratched him, you felt him wince at your lips on his cheek.

When you pulled back there was a red kiss mark dead center of his cheek.

“All better.”

“H-hey what’s your name?” He said nervously.

You had never seen someone who was once so confident be so shy all of a sudden, but in your opinion it made him endearing.

“Y/N, we should meet up someday.” You whispered in his ear.

You backed away from him as you heard the door open and the others walked into the room, ready to discuss the plan on how to take down Bowser.

As Peach and Cranky Kong were talking about the plan, Mario stood off to the side.

His eyes fell onto Donkey Kongs cheek and he quickly looked between you and the gorilla before looking at a wall to avoid any awkward conversations.

You and Donkey Kong had a few dates that ended with success, so you decided to make it official and started dating.

You two were invited to most dinners and parties that were held at the Mushroom Kingdom.

It was fun for the most part, if only Mario and Donkey kong didn’t get into so many petty arguments that you had to step in on most of the time.

“Oh you leave him alone, He’s nothing but big sweetheart.” You argued with Mario across the dinner table.

“He tried to kill me?!”

“He didn’t mean anything by it, shush.” You said as you leaned over to kiss Donkey Kong on his cheek, leaving another red lipstick mark.

Hello! Thank you so much for the request! This did end up spanning with plot points from Church On Ruby Road because I genuinely couldn't help myself. Hopefully this is to your liking, I based this off my own sister and I's relationship.

So, like Ruby, you were also adopted by Carla.

Your very used to having other kids in the house and growing up with Ruby

You and Ruby are peas in a pod, where one goes, the other tends to follow

As you all got older, the more the two of you become more of a pair

Ruby's friends are your friends, and while you do have your own friend group, they all overlap.

You were excited about the move into Cherry's apartment, yes you and Ruby have to share a room, but the two of you wouldn't have it any other way.

You knew Ruby was somewhat curious about her birth family, and along with Carla convinced her to go on Davina's show.

You were also probably offered, but you declined.

You were probably on set with her when the bad luck started to happen, and thus you were also roped into the events

You decided after the first few incidents (accidentally tripping on the stairs and smacking your head, stubbing your toes on the paint cans in the hallway, just little things) that you'd tread a bit more carefully around the apartment and when going out, so you declined going out with Ruby and her friends.

She told you all about the "Gin and Tonic" guy.

The two of you were up most of that night discussing everything about him.

The Next day, you surprised her with a present (Because damn bad luck, your gonna get your sister a gift for her birthday) it was a simple necklace you saw while window shopping.

Ruby went out, while wearing the necklace, to get the groceries and thus you were at home when Carla got the call about the newborn.

You were the first to call it a coincidence, and were eagerly helping Carla get the crib ready for the baby when Ruby got home.

It was hectic from the moment that baby arrived, one second Lulu and Ruby were inside the flat, and the next Ruby, Lulu and her friend were walking inside.

"Rubes! Is this the gin and tonic guy?"

"Yeah!"

"You didn't tell me he was tall!"

The Doctor is absolutely losing it btw, hearing the two of you while you both situate Lulu back into her crib and Ruby filled you in on everything that had happened.

The Goblins, the bad luck, and how you were probably being roped into it as well.

The Doctor took a lot of interest in the Sunday kids, (being you and Ruby)

You were the one that came up with "maybe they're behind all bad luck"

You don't remember much after that except being extremely confused and The Doctor pulling the both of you into a hug.

Yeah, there was a large crack in the ceiling, and a consistant draft in the flat, but you only had a smile on your face.

Thats when you and Ruby made the connection

"What did he mean? He went back..?" Ruby looked over at you, and you were staring right back at her.

"He said that, didn't he?" You asked right back, the two of you having the same look on your faces.

"Where did he come from? Why was he here in the first place?" Carla barely focused on the two of you, more focused on the crack in the ceiling. You and Ruby were trying to figure out The Doctor.

"I don’t know, he kind of… popped up at the right moment, and then…" Ruby said.

"He was also at the club, he's your gin and tonic guy from last night." You said, pointing toward the door.

"He was gone. Like. Now." Ruby said, slowly.

You grinned, brain scrambling for a solution. "This can't be some sci-fi stuff right?"

"Sci-fi?"

"Rubes, we both know what we saw on that polaroid. That isn't normal."

"No, hush hush hush hush hush. Because, he went back?"

"He said he did. Back when you were a baby."

"When was Houdini?" Ruby asked.

"1900's at least. 1920's max." You said, and the two of you took a minute to look toward the door.

The two of you had a silent conversation, and then nodded. The two of you sprinted out the door. Ruby stopping to grab her jacket, and you just left yours behind.

The Sunday kids were off on their next adventure, with The Doctor.

Had a dream that they came out with another Distant Lands episode of Adventure Time which actually explained all the cosmic entities, framed through an explanation of where Prismo's sleeping old man came from. In the dream, the old man's name was just Paul and he was a guy on earth during the days leading up to the mushroom war who slept through everything. His family made jokes about how he would probably sleep through the apocalypse, and he couldnt hold down any jobs because he was always so sleepy. He had a wish to someday make the perfect pickle, but nobody took him seriously. He also had a small dog who always got jnto mischief. Meanwhile, in his dreams, he was communing with various gods, especially the cosmic owl. At some point the cosmic owl just casually says to him "Oh actually the apocalypse IS coming lol" and he just freaks out, and cosmic owl just says something about seeing if he can get him a job with his boss, changing the subject awkwardly. Paul says "yeah sure, whatever", and then wakes up to an air raid as bombs are dropping in his neighborhood. He runs, and falls down into a sewer, which somehow lets him survive the initial blast, but he get irradiated. From then on out we see Paul moving from refugee camp to refugee camp, surviving the final days of humanity, while his dreams seem empty, and he laments that even what he thinks are his imaginary friends have given up on him. Meanwhile, we're shown Cosmic Owl going to their boss, who we only ever see as a ball of pulsing light which changes color constantly, and speaks through a monotonous drone. The Cosmic Owl then gathers all the cosmic entities to discuss Paul, and all of them agree that Paul is worth saving--of interest is that Scarab is amongst those saying this. But that direct interference just to save one guy isnt okay. But what they CAN do is pull out his inner cosmic essence and ascend him to godhood, something Cosmic Owl laments as not being ideal. So then Cosmic Owl comes to Paul, as he's ain a group of survivors, the children of which have animal hats, and Paul is about to turn into one of the goo monsters that result from radiation. Cosmic Owl says he has a way out of his horrible fate, but its kinda a monkey's paw type deal. Paul simply says sure, and Cosmic Owl tells him to shut his eyes, and focus on what his inner cosmic essence tells him he should do. Paul just smiles sadly and says, he's met so many people who never got to see their wishes to fruition, he just kinda wants to be able to bring their wishes to life. Suddenly, Paul's shadow starts turning pink, and Cosmic Owl whisks him away from earth, knowing that he cannot be there any longer, pulling him to one of the many random floating rocks in space. And then boom, suddenly, reality unfolds into the cube Prismo lives in, right above Paul, and Paul heals up and falls into a deep sleep. Prismo and Cosmic Owl have a quick conversation, where its clear Prismo has no memory of Paul's life, but Cosmic Owl makes some comment about pickles, and Prismo lights up talking about making pickles. Cosmic Owl smiles gently, appreciating that there's still a little bit of Paul in there, even if Prismo isnt him. Cosmic Owl explains his job as wishmaster real quick, and goes on his way to report back to the others. Prismo starts flipping through channels, fast forwarding through ones, and ends up seeing Jake making bacon pancakes and smiles. Then we cut away to Cosmic Owl with the other entities from earlier, explaining Prismo, and Scarab gets pissed. Scarab apparently really loved talking to Paul, and now Paul was forbidden to ever awaken, so long as Prismo was free to be himself. He swore vengeance on Prismo then and there, saying that if he made even the slightest mistake, he would take him down and bring Paul back. And thats when the episode ended.

And yes, i do dream entire episodes of things sometimes with complete plot points. My brains just like this.

the barbie movie like. ok so [spoilers and long paragraphs under the cut]

yeah it was really basic ideologically it didnt cover all the various intersections and theories of feminism but i think when people saw conservatives flipping their shit people expected it to be like, a manifesto. its a film, and more importantly, it's the Barbie Movie. i think expecting a gender and womens studies class from it would be silly, and while i get why people are disappointed in how much sympathy it lends to the men in the movie, i dont think like, once again, that was ever something to not expect?

furthermore on that point i think showing misogyny from a place of defining the self around a sense of loneliness by men isn't...far off. theres never an excuse for misogyny but thats rhetoric that radicalizes a lot of incels and shit i would rather that than they treat it like some mysterious miasma.

also, i think, once again while it was pretty basic in the ideas it presented... how often is it show that explicitly in broad-audience film? like stated directly to the audience in that manner? theres no flirting with the feminist theory in the movie; it says it outright, which is something a lot of films shy away from out of fear of alienating men once it becomes too "girl power"-y. im not usually for the use of a lot of buzzwords in film and discussion of issues but these buzzwords are never said with cheapness or to obfuscate. it could be heavyhanded at times, but that heavyhandedness wasnt ever really obnoxious? it walked the line of "haha silly" but still took its point seriously enough that you could appreciate the use of that heavyhandedness for comedic effect without being mocked

i also think the fact they just like "solve" the patriarchy in the barbie world isnt meant to imply that you can just fix the real world with a woman president or by being aware of misogyny. in fact a lot of the movie is dedicated to showing how the barbie world and real world are different. the conclusion of the movie is that barbie wants to become human, even though the human world is messy and unsolved and nothing like she assumed it was. she believed barbie had solved misogyny forever, which is a direct jab at the idea that any "one thing" or "girl power" movement can just suddenly whisk away the very power structures that created that sort of oppression.

its very much coming from a cis/heterosexual/white basis. they flirt with further intersection but dont commit, which im really not a fan of. my friends after the film were like "it was more homoerotic than i expected haha" and...yeah, it was, but it didnt do anything to address gayness or what that means in such a heavily gendered heterosexual society. you could read that subtext through allen and his thing.... but allen is a joke. his story is never resolved. hes one of the guys but he isnt, hes one of the girls but he isnt, he benefits not at all from "kendom" but conversely is not oppressed the way the barbies are and vice versa. he's just allen, and the only allen there is. when sasha and her mom want to go back to help barbie, the fact he just goes "God im never getting out of here" and thats just like, left was kinda. well. it was something for sure.

still. i know i just wrote like 200 words on the ideology of this movie but first and foremost its a pg13 comedy meant to be shown to broad audiences in theaters for money. its meant to be an enjoyable watch, and it is! its a gorgeous film, its funny, the songs are fine, and the way it makes its side comments arent distracting nor meanspirited. it knows when to take itself seriously, and i like that. i was actually expecting it to be a general audiences like, kids movie i was so fucking surprised when barbie said penis.

i also think saying the line at the end about the gynecologist is like "saying you need a vagina to be a real woman" is disingenuous honestly. one its meant to be a bit of a shock quip to get a giggle but two i think a lot of people who need gynecological care (which can include trans women) are afraid when it comes to that first visit and finally sitting down and talking about those areas because of the shame and lack of proper education. maybe its bc i grew up mormon but i dont think its meant to imply thats what MADE barbie a real woman or that its fundamental to being one.

once again it definitely isnt a perfect movie. i think the way the ken and barbie talk happened at the end was still a bit coddly and the scope of the ideology underneath the movie was, once again, still very much centered in white cishetero society and thought with only passing mentions of intersectionality that felt both shallow and (especially with the gayness and racial dynamics) occasionally like it was being turned into a joke

still all in all it was a pretty good movie. weird barbie #1. allen get behind me i will protect u

i super appreciate this anon, this is definitely very very real. i actually had a discussion about this to my friends late last night concerning my workload of streams and the particularly unhealthy habits ive developed as a (for lack of better term) "endurance" streamer. it's tough because it is like... my main source of income, so i do often find that i have to stream A LOT in order to make ends meat. most times i find that when i am streaming for like 7 hours+ i am just Having Fun with the game im playing and i tend to lose track of time, but if you notice that the past several weeks theres been a noticeable uptick of my streaming days since late august-early september. i'm going to speak real here so be fore-warned: i do not make a lot of money as a streamer. i dont think anyone does. in today's climate, i am making Just Enough to pay my bills, rent, and groceries. as long as that minimum threshold is being met, im usually quite happy to continue on with what i do. however, for me, entertaining people online with funny streams has never been about the monetary value of it all. since day ONE, it's never been. but, speaking as an adult who lives alone in a big city, it's also an unfortunate reality that i have to bring to the forefront. it's why the rent/bills tip bar is on the screen so often. honestly, it kind of bums me out to bring it to the forefront so often, but that's a conversation for another day. however, i am definitely afraid that if i am not Streaming Enough, then i won't be able to make my monthly rent and bills. that is not to say that i dont enjoy streaming or that i am unhappy with my current schedule (quite the opposite, i love streaming a little TOO much LOL) - every day i thank the stars in the sky that i get to do what i REALLY want to do in this day and age. but, i guess the problem i'm having is just striking that balance. i really dont give myself a lot of time for a break and, to say that i am on the cusp of burning out is... not to far off from the truth. i do want to make it abundantly clear however: i am currently NOT in burn out mode, but i'm sure the worry is that i will eventually reach that point sooner than later, yeah? anyways, just a couple of thoughts to think about while i write out this whole thing. i'm okay, i will be doing okay, and for the foreseeable future, i will be fine. if anything, if you are worried: the best thing yall could do is just show up for the streams and have fun! that's all i could ever ask. as long as youre having fun, thats all that matters to me. if you laughed and clapped and enjoyed yourselves in any of the stuff i do, then i super appreciate that! thank you!

s: “alright, something else i wanted to bring up, we got a new brand kid registered for the new season. Bleach Annaki”

“can he even register here? thought he was an academy student”

“he’s been AWOL for like 5 months!

s: “quiet. let me talk. he registered a few days ago and is planning on starting up in the next season. i went through his file last night. it’s long.”

“doesn’t surprise me, brand kid and all”

“yeah that kids a machine”

s: “apparently he moved in with his brother. after looking at his file i have some guesses as to why, but i’ll keep that to myself. what i do what to discuss about him, well- okay who has questions first”

“how is he registered here? he’s an academy student.”

s: “says he dropped out of school and his team 4 months ago. didn’t graduate. no further information on that”

“we don’t know why?”

s: “he definitely got injured. he’s got… quite the medical history. chronic illness, ink sac deformity, lot of random injures over the years, and specifically, a 2 month long hospital admission, directly following when he dropped out”

s: “so. i’d like to discuss a support plan for him. he’s in S to start but i can’t imagine it’ll take him long to climb the leaderboards. his brother, Perri, stopped by to talk with one of the nurses and give them some more info on his health the other day. he needs to be monitored on if he’s drying out”

“you’ll know it when you see him, ends of his tentacles are white. permanent damage”

“how do you know that?”

“like i said. i kept up with him for a while”

s: “yes. for now he’s got a limit of playing 2 full rotations a day, which i’ve been told will get bumped up and up over time. he’s still recovering from… whatever it was”

“we’ll let the spectators know to have someone check in with him after every few games. keep an eye out for droughting”

“does he got one of those tube things? he’ll probably have a custom ink tank, gotta get that approved through mechanics”

I have a brain today so i can actually expand on some of the things youve pointed out instead of just aiming heart eyes at you for the compliments fjsndjsjejke so for the first point, yes!!! Scar and Xisuma returned to the others post chap 6 and were like "Well that sucked!! Wow!!!!" I wouldnt say theyve given all the information to everybody, because they themselves aren't exactly ready to discuss that beyond the immediately required basics, but everyone else was given the gist: convo went badly, Grian is being taken back to Hermitcraft on Scar and Xisuma's insistence. Both Scar and Xisuma feel fucking horrible for how that conversation went down-- nobody had a good time there. So while the plan is to eventually get everyone up to speed, they're sorta taking this time to be miserable about what was essentially a fight that ended in stripping Grian of his autonomy

There's also a little cross-communication happening here in the background, btw: Scar and Xisuma have a pretty big picture now, but Tango, Mumbo, and Pearl have been fed that false info abt the potions being potentially useful. So, yknow :) just smth to keep in mind there haha

Your point about how it almost feels like Grian falling asleep is a survival mechanism is spot on the money. It's essentially him falling into a state of low power mode, where everything but his most basic of functions is shut down for a brief time in favour of preserving energy-- i would honestly consider it more equivalent to a coma than actual sleep. Hence Tango's concern, and subsequent relief when Grian woke up; the entire time he was unconscious, he was fully unresponsive. So, yknow. Real nerve-wracking to see, especially after that prior full week of unresponsiveness as his body struggled to maintain itself.

Tango's role here is indeed deliberate, both on a watsonian and doylist level!! The reason however is the exact same for both: Tango is a little more removed, personally, from this situation. Grian was-- and is-- his friend, ofc, but he's not as close to whats happening. Meanwhile, Xisuma is in 24/7 server babysitting mode, Pearl is not fit to be a caretaker, and Scar and Mumbo were tearing themselves apart by trying to sit and look after him. So Tango got assigned caretaker duties 😂😂😂😂 it was an effective way to divvy up tasks and keep everybody busy, and somewhat hilariously, so far Tango is the only person Grian isnt supremely upset with for one reason or another. And thats why he's continued to stay in caretaker mode lol he is truly just. The only guy who can rn

I also just sorta think of him as a surprisingly emotionally savvy fixer-type, in terms of personality. Like. I think he just gets what people set down in front of him, yknow? Although hell if he knows what to do with it once he's got em. He fumbles a lot, sure, and he defaults to fix-it mode, but he is getting the message when Grian essentially says "i dont wanna talk anymore" without actually saying it

As for Grian and his headspace, rn, theres definitely a complexity at work here where he wants to die and is very genuine in that, but he IS also grateful he's seeing his friends. He cant deny that. As painful as it is, he still loves them very much, and ultimately he's trying to do this for their own good as much as for his own sense of punishment and relief. I think like... now that he's really creeping up on what he has planned, and the pieces are suddenly becoming a reality, theres a bit of dissonance he's fighting against to stay on course. He wants his friends happy; he also wants to die. He's so overwhelmingly tired; he is, as much as he feels he doesnt deserve it, glad to have his friends close. That sort of hopelessness mixed with a warped sense of comfort that he got to see and interact with them one last time. If that makes any sense. Its a bit of complexity i wanted to make sure i added in, because people are so rarely fully decided on any course of action they choose to take, without even a single flicker of doubt (and especially one so final as this). Im glad youve picked up on that, and that you appreciate what i was trying to set down with it!!! :D

Question for the Court part 2

Genuinely I really need to know if this is normal behaviour because I’ve never experienced someone like this and it kind of makes me uncomfortable. Here are his behaviours:

He texts me on average 30 times a day. He always initiates the conversation (I never do).

He sends me morning and good night messages (this is something that even my ex and I didn’t even do). His messages often say things like ‘Good night. Have beautiful dreams of yours greatest desires.’

He’s been telling my sister (who he’s friends with) how excited he is to play a certain board game with me. Even though I have never said I will play a game with him. Then he told me last night how he had found 2-3 people so we can play a different game together. I haven’t said I wanted to play this game with him. I do not know these other people at all. So why is he asking people that are strangers to me to play a game with ‘us’ when I haven’t even asked him to?

He is overly complimentary to the point of it being just weird. So for example I wrote a review of a play. He responded with 3 whole paragraphs essentially reviewing my review but only with positive feedback. Like “I smiled to myself when imagining you watch the play” etc. like obviously I don’t mind someone saying ‘oh wow that’s a good review’. But three paragraphs reviewing my review is very ????

He had come up with a nickname for me that I do not like but he won’t stop calling me it even though I have never positively responded to.

He’ll often send me paragraphs expanding on something he’s clearly interested in. Then I’ll say ‘ah that’s cool but that’s not really my thing’ and his response will always be ‘yeah I hate that thing too’.

Now this is the thing that kinda weirds me out the most. So I have very particular interests. As soon as I mention I like a thing quite a bit he suddenly becomes obsessed with them too. So 3 examples.

I love musicals. I talked to him about musicals at one point. He went from only having watched Les Mis to asking me to send him a musical to listen to every single day. Then he spent an entire weekend watching musicals, sending me images of the musicals he was watching to kind of prove that he was watching them.

I told him I like the Frogwares Sherlock Holmes games. He suddenly went out and bought them all, and play the Awakened in one sitting. Then he went out and spent near to £100 on Sherlock Holmes games and novels, even though he clearly has never had any interest in Sherlock Holmes past bbc Sherlock. (I mean if he did wouldn’t these be purchases he made before?).

I talked to him about starkid two days ago because he asked me what it was. He has now donated £50 to their new kickstarter even though he has yet to watch a single show. He sent me the receipt to prove it.

Now the thing is I know he does often display some of these behaviours towards other people. My sister said how one time her and two other people were discussing rollerskating then this guy went out to buy rollerskates even though none of them had actually planned to go rollerskating yet (and they never ended up planning a trip). And while I think thats sort of similar behaviour to my last point I think the difference is that this was a thing he did because he clearly wanted to go out with this group of people. Where as with the last point with me there is no end goal of going out - like clearly buying a tone of Sherlock Holmes novels doesn’t lead to a Sherlock Holmes outing in the same sense. Instead I think it’s sort of clear he is intensely getting into the things I like to impress me, but in a way that no person would unless they have become obsessed with said person.

And I also know that he actually sort of became obsessed with this other person I knew to the point where he would hang around at her desk everyday, until someone else had to speak to him about leaving her alone. When I mentioned that I think he’s doing the same to me, my sister implied that the circumstances were entirely different ( I think they might have gone out on a date or two and decided to just be friends - but the guy was still obsessed with her). But still I think it might be a similar situation.

It’s just I feel like I’m going crazy because everyone I tell who knows this guy keeps underplaying like ‘ah that’s just what he does’ but I definitely think this is more intense than what he normally does.

John has said several times that the Sherlock "has been informed for quite some time now". This can be easily approved or debunked. Sherlock posted a statement a couple of days ago. Notice that he didn't debunk this. Yes, he said "since you informed me about replacing me on Monday" which referred to the announcement, but he didn't say it was the first ever time he'd heard it. The statement wasn't short and it'd the perfect time to say it if that was the case to gather people around him. Before anyone brushes this off, please know that in real life when one is wrongfully accused, they would outright deny it with concise and accurate language. Especially when this is THE MOST crucial point in this whole mess.

So here's what I speculate: they have talked about it. If Sherlock denies it, then John could easily prove it, so there's no outright denial on that aspect from Sherlock. However, Sherlock thought their partnership was still salvageable and was indeed shocked by the announcement. I think Sherlock long love confession was one of his ditch efforts to persuade John to stay, because that was what John always wanted. Everyone could see that John was blind sided by that love confession. It wasn't planned.

Do I think the breakup was handled well? H*ll not! This is one of the worst I've seen. If I were John, I'd announce the retirement of that blog and invite followers to join a new blog/platform.

Yeah, they had this blog together (blogs) and started together, so when John decided it was over he should have ended the blog. When I blocked John, the other John blog also blocked me, the one that roleplays with another Sherlock blog that tried to roleplay with John back in January. It seems they wanted to replace Sherlock for awhile? John looked like he created another John blog (sherlock and co) to go roleplay with this other sherlock, that was already rejected by the bbc sherlock community. so they changed to sherlock and co blogs.

So why didnt John say then like hey go follow this blog? I guess he really wanted BBC sherlock roleplay. He should have made an anouncement;

Like yeah these two people should have like. Left these blogs?? now thag they were over?? But seems they both dont want to and thats fine, but they should have told the audience.

I don't wanna ruin any plot peices however, the idea that Y/N shows the boys how people are supposed to treat them seems like a important peice of the pie.

I can fully imagine this super shy Y/N learn about how shittily their current "handler" is being and get Sun to talk about said treatment giving him a safe space. Mind you maybe this comes up in casual conversation and Sun says it like it's no big deal.

Do you this this Y/N would be proactive in their want to help Sun/Moon? (Of course once they get to know them more cuz anxiety is fun)

*Deep breath* As an anxiety riddled idiot myself... I will absolutely bend over backwards and go out of my way and basically ruin myself to help someone in need I'm even slightly close to? It is a problem lol. BUT that said, I DO feel like this YN would be an absolute bleeding heart, and while they aren't really 'well off' themself, especially if we go the artist route (ordering out that much just for a chance to talk to this dude would hurt their wallet -oh god is this a crush or just the crippling loneliness theyd didn't realize they had???-) learning even a bit about how they're doing this job for some other human thats basically forcing them to or they'll kick them to the curb would light a blind rage inside. It would take a bit to actually manifest into action though. Don't wanna overstep or push too hard cause what if saying something about that would push them away from you? What if one day you said the wrong thing, and then the next time they made a delivery they just... Handed the food off and left. Like they're supposed to. What if they DIDN'T sit around and talk for fifteen-twenty minutes, or make sure that your delivery was the last stop so they could make some excuse to stay over for the night(Moons introduction pending???)

What if you lost your currently only local... friend? Are you friends? Becuase YOU thought something that's working for them is bad and YOU want them to change their whole life just cause YOU're reading too much into a situation? But talking more, realizing they're actually unhappy about it, cause this human is NOT their friend as much as they claim them to be(realizing they call them their friend to be polite but it always lacks the same bounce and energy as when he calls YOU friend, or sunshine, or any other cute little pet name he's picked out for the day).  It always falls flat. Like it's forced. Like the lines of his smile strain when he dips into discussing his personal life... No, that's too heartbreaking, for such a wonderful sweet PERSON like him to have to deal with. They have their freedom now, but they're still being treated like a tool? Not on your watch. You start making the effort of inviting him to stay over, and it starts to become second nature, even on days when you havent ordered food, to hear the soft knock on your front door, different patterns but always the same tone, that you have a visitor for the night. CUE MOON REVEAL. Because everyone loves a sudden power outage. He's WELL aware of how friendly you've been with Sun, casually commenting in the back of his mind, convinced there's something wrong with you and teasing constantly BUT he also is under the full belief that you're full of shit and using him somehow. There's an ulterior motive. There has to be. So far out of every human they've interacted with, you're the only one that treats them THIS different. Yeah some are nice enough, but the interactions are short and dismissive. The guy they work for now is a complete dick and insists Moon not be let out at all. He's scared of him, and for good reason. He's tired of being cooped up though, so when you and Sun were sitting in the livingroom, something queued up on the TV, you working on a commission on the couch with the golden animatronic crosslegged on the floor and leaning back against the seat next to you.. Well. Lights out, and time for an introduction. He had a hunch you were considering asking about him staying with you, but you still had no idea there was this other side to sun. And Moon is about to push ALL of the buttons that should make you abort. He's very good at that. He knows better than to kill you, though. Sun wouldn't forgive him. But if he can make you show off your true colors, how you'd handle Moon, if you'd make the same cruel decision to keep him locked away and missing his half of this new freedom, well. That's one thing he and Sun had talked about in the past. Something that always made him hesitate to mention Moon existing. He was scared Moon would be right. I wanted to say that I do agree 100% with your reply to the other anon about casual friendships, though for this kind of conversation to actually make some kind of impact on drolos brains the whole context should be discussed. The reason its not strictly double standards to be “mad” at karl and not at dream’s other casual friends is karl’s relationship with snf (and honestly the history of dtqk in general). Karl and Dream were never painted as casual friends, so for (granted, insane) people it’s harder to accept that that’s what they are.

And I think people have this idea that because the dream team are obsessed with each other literal ride or die friends, practically family, then outsider friends should have the same/similar relationships with all of them - as in, because Karl is best friends with snf then he should also be best friends with dream. And dream’s other casual friends don’t have this relationship with snf that Karl does, so its different. To people it feels like Karl excludes dream when their relationship is just different and thats ok.

Sorry in advance for coming off like kind of an asshole, I'm just trying to get my point across but I feel like I came off super harsh, which wasn't my intention at all.

I understand the first point all too well, Anon, I ALSO had a pretty hard time accepting that DTK was a lot more casual then I initially thought. But at the end of the day I want them to have the kind of relationship that they want to have and I ultimately just want them to be safe and happy with one another.

As for the double standard thing, I do see where you're coming from on that. It's a lot more justified to be upset with Karl over this because of his relationship to SNF, as opposed to someone like Foolish, who isn't nearly as close with the two (he is with Bad but I suppose that's a bit different). At the end of the day though I do think the broad strokes of what I was trying to say still applies. If you are going to use "they're not talking PUBLICLY" (keyword, publicly) as a justification for them not being friends, then ONLY and EXCLUSIVELY accusing JUST Karl and not Dream's other causal non-public contacts, you are perpetuating a double standard.

I honestly don't even think its purposeful exclusion on Karl or Dream's fault half the time. In some cases, yeah, Karl backs off on purpose to minimize fallout and harassment, but in a lot of cases it just seems like two extremely busy people can't find time to hang out with each other.

Karl has approximately 128,749,324 jobs, constantly travels for MrBeast, works on his own videos, owns an esports organization, works with a bunch of Roblox YouTubers, and for fuck's sake he bought a livestreaming backpack so he could do IRL streams since he couldn't produce "normal" content. Dream owns his own merch company, is the CEO of public relations at Minecraft, the best selling video game in history, is producing music and maybe even a short film, all while planning to launch a sixty person Minecraft server.

And if Karl is closer to SNF then he is to Dream? I literally do not care. I'm not in this relationship, I have no bearing on what they do or don't do with one another. Sometimes you're really close to two people in a friend group and not the third, and that's, once again, normal.

Anyways that's my parasocial take on the situation.

I had the weirdest exchange earlier on DA and then on Discord and I am struggeling to make hands and tails of it. This person contacts me via notes on Deviant Art with the headline "willing to get the opportunity^_^":

They proceed tho share the photo I made of myself in Hamburg after I smached my face on the sidewalk, which makes me feel a little uncomfortable. -

Me: "Outch, that was a painfull evening."

Them: "I'm sorry to hear that 😦 so can i write a story for ya? and then turn the story into a comic"

Me: "You want to use my fursone or one of my OCs?"

Them: "yeah"

Me: "? So you want to use my OCs?"

Them: "yes you can share it with me Yeah bcz i wanted to write a story about your Oc's and turn it into an amazing comic"

Me: "OK, which OCs do you have in Mind? The Twins? The Gods? Or some of the older characters?"

Them: "I guess the twins is best work for comic"

Me: "Cool."

Them: "waiting…"

Me: "Ah, do you need the character sheets?"

Them: "yeah you can share it with me so i can write a story for ya"

I send the links to the charactersheets of the twins on DA over -

Them: "That's really nice ❤️ so i can write a story for ya around 10 pages and each page contain 10 panels sounds Good for ya?"

Me: "Really happy that you want give me such a gift,"

Them: "well would you mind can we proceed with the pricing"

Me: "??? Excuse me? I Did tell you that I do not make comissions at the moment. I understood that you want to do fanart of my characters, not that I comission you for anything. If thats the case forget it. To make it clear, you are welcome to draw my characters as fanart, but I will not pay for it."

And eversince then just radio silence of them so far. Sorry for the long post, but what the hell was that? Was that just miscommunication? Was that person trying to scam me? I would say it is possible that English was not that persons first langlauge, but, their profile says that they are from an English speaking country. At times this conversation felt like I was talking to an AI. So what are your thoughts, friendos? Just what was that?
