how do you study? do you use flashcards, mindmaps, etc.?

i use digital flashcards on quizlet for key terms and dates, usually for history and english quotes. i like to write notes so i have all the information i need to know in one place in the order of the spec and then i do loads and loads of practice questions.

Victorian London is on the precipice of destruction.

Hi everyone!! I’ve decided to convert my blog into a studyblr to ring in the new academic year!

About Me

I’m Cana (or lupin bc I’m trash), she/her pronouns, and I’m 20 years old!

ENFP, Libra, pretty queer, Ravenclaw, all that kind of stuff

I have ADHD, primarily inattentive type, and that has caused my experience with education to be a WILD RIDE.

I’ll be studying literature in the fall with a minor in music. I studied music for my first two years of uni, but I’ve changed it!

Interests

Music! Talk to me about choral music and I’ll marry you, probably. I sing classically and I’m somewhat proficient on the piano. I also love Hozier and his type of jams.

Writing and reading poetry! My time studying music only deepened my appreciation for it.

Scripture and Theology! I’ve recently been exploring the idea of going down the theology route. Thinking critically with reason about scripture, as well as looking at it from a literary point of view, is just my favorite thing.

Also into ancient studies

languages (Hebrew and French are particularly fascinating to me, but I’ve primarily studied German!), film, art (I went to art camp for like 2 summers and it was traumatic but I’m trying to find my love for it again)

I live for the aesthetic, babes

Remus Lupin is my fave bye (also I love harry potter but I don’t support That terf Bitch JK Rowling and I want to make that clear)

Goals

as my uni has gone online this upcoming semester, my main goal is to survive. I think it will be beneficial in the long run for me as a student to learn the skills I need to be successful with online classes, but as a student with ADD and anxiety, especially in a global pandemic, it’s terrifying!

find ways to intertwine my literature studies and scriptural studies (currently studying the Tanakh)

manage my time and productivity better while also allowing myself to breathe and cope with what I’m going through

Why studyblr?

I wanted to find a way to put myself out into the world a bit more with my studies and keep myself accountable. Also to find an encouraging community! I thought it might be a good way to share this journey with people.

I've been interested in the Studyblr community ever since I joined Tumblr, but now that I'm actually in college and have actual contributions to make, I've decided to join in the fun! Here we go!

🌸 I'm in the 2nd semester at the University of Delhi. I'm doing my Honours in English, with Political Science as my elective and Environmental Sciences and Communicative English as additional subjects.

🌸 I'm very interested in the literature of early to mid-century Europe and the political history and current affairs of the world. I want to enroll in my college's Spanish class, but it's a bit too expensive for me.

🌸 I am fluent in English and Hindi (my native tongue). I can speak and understand Bhojpuri and understand Magahi (regional languages of my region). I hope to learn Spanish one day.

🌸 I love podcasts! My absolute favourite is 'The Magnus Archives' and the Juno Steel storyline from 'The Penumbra Podcast'.

🌸 My lovely fiancé is a PhD student at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA.

🌸 My main goal as a Studyblr is to socialise with other blogs and provide local content to my people from the Indian Subcontinent, because most Studyblrs are either Western or East Asian. Since the education system and cultural structure is very different in our part of the world, I hope someone can relate to my experiences.

Introduction

Hello Tumblr world, 

Instead of creeping around like I usually do, I figured I would introduce myself. I’m L (yes, I like to maintain an air of mystery). 

I’m a 23 year old college student, majoring linguistics and minoring in cognitive science. I’m graduating in December and hopefully going off to grad school next September.
