The art I made for @dreamerwitches's secret santa for a Fantome Ghost, featuring Enfant Terrible and Ulla (and by extent Suleika).
(The tree also features the bauble witch that appeared in Tart Magica war scene as ornaments!)

Born on this day sixty years ago (3 July 1963): fearlessly candid, divisive, and confessional British multi-media artist and Queen of the YBA scene, Tracey Emin. What an artist, what a woman. I’ve always visited every new exhibit of hers over the decades in London and crazily, I feel like I know her. Maybe it’s because Emin shares every joy, heartbreak, trauma, and personal crises in her work (most recently, she’s been gutsily blunt about living with the aftereffects of cancer. “She recaptures the past still bloody and slams it on to canvas with a scream” is how The Guardian’s art critic Jonathon Jones pithily summarizes Emin’s oeuvre). In real terms, I think I’ve only crossed paths with the bad girl of conceptual art once or twice over the years. I vividly remember way back in the early nineties being at an opening night party for something at The Institute of Contemporary Art and being awe-struck when Emin (wearing dark shades) swept past me on the staircase. She was far more glamorous and exciting than any rock star. Pictured: “Mad Tracey from Margate” aged 16.

She takes the hit but swings back stronger than before
Bathes you in spring sunshine
Wipes tears dry and says I love you twice
Seasons change, say you'll stay the same

The Preparations
From Gwyneth:
I did not hold a lottery this year. Instead, I offered Ari, who’s been holding the office of Chief Librarian in Lira’s absence, a place with the Shining Throng on our adventure to this year’s Great Faire. I was almost surprised when she said yes. We did have a short conversation about her reasons for saying yes.
‘It’s not as if I think I’m going to somehow find Lira, Your…

🔥 Enfant Terrible, Plaisir and Capricieux (basically the witches from the 3 sisters from Tart Magica)
I think enfant terrible is kinda boring. It’s just a rabbit in some clothes ^^’ I think if she was extremely monstrous to match Lapin’s true nature she would work far better (which I kinda did in my mw my giving her a hench ass mech) the doppel sucks too as its just the witch lazily stuck on to lapin…
Capricieux is my middle favourite. She’s good but a little too on the nose. How do we make a torture themed doppel…. Hmmmm just give it lots of different instruments, brilliant! Sana’s doppel did it better imo… I like how creepy she is but the numerous tails are a little messy and the red on her back is too bright, makes it look a little childish like baby’s colouring their first blood. I think it should have been more elegant to match Minou
Plaisir on the other hand..! It’s simplicity done right. I think the simple colours really suit Corbeau and of course the theme is spot on with the black death. The mask too, the fact is links with Corbeau’s bird theme AND plague doctors, nicceee! I just love her. You know she’s good when I had a blast designing her mw

Born on this day: inspired, despairing and uncompromising German director Rainer Werner Fassbinder (31 May 1945 – 10 June 1982) – one of my most treasured European art cinema filmmakers. Expressions like “wunderkind,” “monstre sacré” and “enfant terrible” are all applicable here. All these decades later, his best films (like Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (1974), Fox and His Friends (1975) and Veronika Voss (1982)) still sting like a slap across the face! Reminder: The free monthly Lobotomy Room film club is screening Querelle (1982) – Fassbinder’s final movie – on 15 June at Fontaine’s bar in Dalston to commemorate Pride month! Pictured: Fassbinder (centre) with Gunther Kaufmann and Brigitte Mira in Kamikaze 1989 (1982).

I often think that we are two 'enfants terribles.' You gift me your music, and I gift you my jewelry. We have that space together where we can see each other creating. Then we stir the world a bit around us, we exchange gifts, but not the ordinary ones; they are more like offerings to kindle the fire within us. That's how we coexist in my mind. It was difficult for me to find the meaning of your presence, but now I know. We are each other's mirror, a creative force that sweeps everything in its path. You are my freedom to behave as I please.
