honestly i'm about to write a college essay on the writers guild strike and how it is fundamentally a demonstration of the battle between capitalism and basic rights that's been simmering for ages and while the fight has gotten some attention (like talk of corporations like amazon, walmart, disney) this is the first thing where truly everyone feels the affects because the entertainment industry is something that undeniably shapes the day to day lives of people. the strike breaks the struggle down to its core and strips back all the bullshit about how it doesn't affect people who aren't directly involved. do you think a liberal arts college will like that
