1) “Is there anything worse than blindness? Yes! Eyesight ... but no vision!” (Helen Keller)
2) What would a green society look like—a vision of a positive environmental future? When the Turner Foundation put out a call to fund a novel based on such a vision, it was unable to award the grant because of the lack of a winning entry. This disturbing absence of vision underscores the dilemma that it's hard to get somewhere if you don't know where you want to go.
JR: Envisioning the kind of world we want to live in requires an investment of time and effort. There are so many conflicting desires, often at battle amongst themselves, that we give up the effort, become lethargic, and move aimlessly into the future. Furthermore, we have the audacity to criticize and blame others for where we are headed. By not envisioning where we want to go, and failing to take steps to move in that direction, we become a part of the problem.
PP: What are some of the characteristics of a truly enlightened, sustainable society? Find and support a group that is moving in that direction.
PA: An truly enlightened society would be “net positive”—in effect, producing more natural benefits than they are using up, through increased planting, completely renewable energy, etc. People would perform jobs that nurture nature (including humans) and be compensated fairly. This is only a broad beginning, and many communities are indeed moving in that direction. Mondragon (in Northern Spain) and Gaviotas (in Columbia) are two good examples of places moving towards more enlightened societies.
it's been rough to feel sexual with all of this evil surrounding sex of minors and deception of adults. I'm still not decided on multiple wives. I wouldn't want any of the women to be surprised but Moses' God said polygamy and polygany are acceptable to the Law. If i get enough money i will start approaching the parents of younger girls and or involving young ladies and their parents. And, if they don't want to convert then i don't want it. Marriage needs to be going the same direction and i can't have that with women who still want thr world. Remember Lot's wife in Sodom and Gomorrorah.
If they are astranged from their parents i will wonder why, because i want things to feel (at least a little) like the old style of romance and chivalry. giving flowers. Walking together. Having lunch. Kissing. And dropping them off at home. And, TBH, a girl could have as many engagements at the same time. Give incentive to young women to hold their purity (chasity) and save it for the wedding night.
Not everyone is into this but I'd like for it to feel as romantic as possible. In my mind. To know i am treating it as if i joined a 2nd "gang", the Husbandman's gang! Marriage can drop off very quickly. it takes thought out intention. I learned i didn't do enough surprises and romance for the ex, and i forget my own birthday. Just a lot of need to hire advisors to remind me of each woman and special days.
Alternatively the ability for AI to take the place of yhis for men who can't afford multiple maids (maids turn into wives).
And yeah, i think i will drink more in the future and brawl aalso.

So we got to the truck rental place and discovered we didn't have a reservation. I called it in a week before and yet—
No reservation.
So no cargo van for us on this, possibly the busiest weekend of the year for moving truck rentals.
Whoops.
We got it handled though. Got a cargo van for Sunday not Saturday from U-Haul the way Kimmer was thinking she wanted the weekend to go anyway since we'd have an extra set of hands onboard with Linzy.
So.
Instead of moving furniture yesterday, the day turned into a major painting day, taking a room that was formerly and partially a deep, dark blue... and rebranding it with a lighter brown verging on yellow.
It takes a few coats is what I'm saying.
The room also featured hanging wall cabinets all the way around that had to come down so we did that as well. And after the walls of the room were good 'n painted, Kimmer began her process of reimagining the room, moving different pieces of furniture, cabinets and cubbies and corner pieces... moving them, stacking them, closing in on an arrangement that works best for what we have in mind for the room.
And so on.
Now, when I said Saturday was supposed to be a major moving day that turned into a major painting day... that wasn't exactly true. We moved a lot of furniture. Into and out of the one room. Including the massive corner desk that thankfully comes apart in smaller, manageable sections you can easily walk out the door.
Also, I used a circular saw yesterday and managed to cut nothing but the thing I was trying to cut: an inch in diameter piece of wood dowling on which to hang clothes between two bedroom standing closets. I cut it exactly to size and managed not to cut off any of my fingers which is always my main concern, so... Huzzah!
We also continued our divesting. It's obvious, you see, that each room of the house will benefit from having less in it. If we can make that happen, each room will be roomier. Will be more spacious. Which means...
Less stuff. We've gotta have less stuff.
We've gotta have less stuff that needs to be stored in bookcases or cabinets. Less stuff that needs to be on shelves. So that was part of the day, going through books yet one more time and finding a coupla stacks of which I can let go. Because yes. Time does have a way of definitively proving to you what you really need...
And what you really don't need.
The day wound up being a long day, of course, but it didn't feel like a long day. We were tired afterward but not exhausted. During the day we nabbed some Mike's Hard Mango which is always lovely... and we finished our night at Habit Burger over there on 205th.

I'm a pretty good liar. Done a lot of lying in my time. I've lied to men who wear belts, I've lied to men who wear suspenders. But I'd never be so stupid as to lie to a man who wears both belt and suspenders.

Realistically, Danny meeting the flashes and having any of them deny the existence of magic/saying "magic is just science we don't understand yet" should be met with ENDLESS mockery.
Like come on The flashfam WORKS with gods, magic users, some of the JL/JLD are literally demons and ghosts. Diana/WW was MADE FROM CLAY in some canons!
Scepticism on that level should ABSOLUTELY be met with "I didn't know the Justice League worked with flat earthers" Type scorn. The burns should be third degree. The fatalities wide spread.
No one who lives in a world with that much evidence of magic should be allowed to carry "magic isn't real" as an opinion and not be derided for having their head in the sand.
As I understand it the scepticism comes out of the flash comics from like, the 60-80's which fair but the other heroes stories had to accommodate for each other when the crossovers started happening so I feel it's only fair to have men of logic like the flashes (so many of them are scientists of some type right?) deduce that yeah magic has to be real ESPECIALLY -
When any of the magic users, ANY OF THEM -
Could respond with a very simple:
"Magic is science you don't understand."
"What?"
"I understand exactly what I'm doing. I understand exactly what I need to do to get repeat results, and I understand what not to mix not to get undesirable results. What about that implies a lack of understanding? Magic isn't something WE don't understand, magic is something you don't understand."
I enjoy the idea of the flashes being sceptics, I actually enjoy it a lot. Sceptics are very necessary to any narrative, but honestly the magic users deserve a chance to call them out because really having someone call your life's work and very real craft 'not real' 'hoaxes' and essentially parade it around as something they could come to understand better than you if they just looked into it but have made no effort to would be enough to make anyone break their teeth from clenching their jaw so hard.
Essentially early days flashes as sceptics makes total sense. The flashes continuing to have "magic isn't real" as an opinion for too long into the story gives them Flat Earther Level Intellect.
