*taps mic* uhhh maybe i just don’t know but updating your (ex) wife when you’re leaving even though you know you’re being stalked, obeying her, whispering i love you in the dark while giggling foolishly, getting jealous, crying in regret, saying she makes your heart flutter, and wanting to spend an extra 5 minutes with her before leaving for work…waiting up for him to get home from work, asking your (ex) mother in law to wait for him to get home before starting the meal, lecturing him on safety, getting worried when he doesn’t come home on time, asking your former secretary to spy on him, asking if he’s still awake, wanting to ask if he could maybe take a day off?, walking all the way up the path to see him faster, and creating a master plan to quickly defend his name and honour while exposing the sworn enemy doesn’t exactly scream divorced

Okay, so like, I see that discourse around Misaki is getting heated, and like I get it, but I feel like everyone saying shit like “You have NO RIGHT to break up their family.” and “Miri belongs with Kazuki and Rei so Misaki needs to gtfo NOW” are kind of ignoring the one major, glaring plot point that the last three episodes have been calling attention to, which is that Miri is being ACTIVELY targeted by hitmen??? Bruh this isn’t about Misaki, it’s about the fact that Miri is in danger. They are being watched. The organization is following their every move, and Rei’s father made two things very obvious 1. He will not tolerate anyone making Rei weak and taking him away from his inevitable family duties and 2. Even trying to leave the organization will result in you AND your loved ones getting brutally killed The message is clear. He WILL have Miri killed to force Rei to comply. That’s the entire reason Kyu got into contact with Misaki. Until they find a way to break free from the organization, Miri has a huge target on her back, and try as they might, Kazuki and Rei can’t always be around to protect her. This isn’t about whether you think Misaki is selfish or not, this is about the fact that Miri’s life could be in active danger and the show is basically spelling that out to us, but it feels like everyone is forgetting that in their hatred of Misaki as if she is the primary threat to their familial life. She isn’t the threat. She cannot force a legal battle for custody after blatant child abandonment. The only reason she is here is because she is the only safe and familiar home Miri can go to where her life may not be in active danger. It’s a sucky situation but yall, she’s NOT the villain, she’s NOT breaking up a family for no reason. She is NEEDED right now because until the organization is taken down, Miri is NO LONGER safe with Kazuki and Rei. This isn’t a comment on how good of a mother she is, this is a statement on how this is the SAFEST option for Miri right now, and I think people would do well to remember that Miri’s life being in danger isn’t a hypothetical ‘what if’ scenario when they are making posts declaring that Misaki needs to turn around and walk away. Do y’all think Kyu contacted her for fun? Because he made the executive decision that she would be the better parent? Come on, realize the gravity of the situation here

There's not enough talk about how absolutely fucking creepy the scene where Izzy touches Ed's face is. The more often I see it the worse it feels. Like, if this scene was done with a female character in Ed's role, there would be outrage about it. Touching someone's face, especially in this soft caressing and holding the cheek kind of way is a very intimate touch. It's something that's reserved maybe for family members and very close friends, as a comforting touch when you're sick or hurt or crying, but mostly for lovers sharing a tender moment. The interaction (and relationship) between Ed and Izzy in this moment is not intimate, tender and comforting. Izzy just insulted Ed, he called him a slur. Ed reacts aggressively to protect himself (justified!). And Izzy's reaction to that is this soft touch to his face, this intimate gesture, and it's creepy as fuck. What the hell is wrong with you, Izzy. It's abusive, it's violating, there's a definite undertone of it being violating in a sexually charged manner, and Ed reacts accordingly - Ed is feeling creeped out and violated. Note how he draws the robe tighter over his chest, covering himself up more. This is meant to be read as an abusive interaction.
