HAZBIN HOTEL EP 7 AND 8 QUICKK REVIEW
contains major spoilers, let's start!
Tumblr media
how about we start with episode 7, hmm?
i must say, before the episode were released I had a theory, that alastor could make a deal with charlie and try to get her soul to(following the theory about lilith having alastor on a leash) try to exchange charlie's soul for his own BUT it did not happen, and I cannot say it's disappointing for me
as hannibal fun and an expirienced cannibalistic-joke maker it feels like a personal win to have cannibal town being one the most comfortable places in hell with cannibals being really wholesome and polite guys
and of course the diamond of the crown - rosie
Tumblr media
she was amazing in this episode. she definitely has the vibe of this rich auntie who visits you once a year and gives the best gifts and advices. she actually gives amazing advices, that's for sure. and i love her friendship with alastor, i bet they meet every weekend and share gossips
Tumblr media Tumblr media
all of us should be proud of charlie and the way she becomes leader and takes responsibility for her people. this is THE character development
here we are slowly coming to episode 8 also known as the finale of season 1!!
Tumblr media
it was a bright culmination of all of the season 1 and it turned out amazing
but dear readers, i'm sure all of you have already watched it (maybe even 2 or 3 times, right?), so why don't i just say a few words about my favorite moments
the scene before big battle, where everybody is just spending time with other is exactly what shows how much are this lost souls now bonded. they realise they have no idea what is there, waiting for them in tomorrow and that's what make this scene
and let me just say it: huskerdust
Tumblr media
it is a big joy to know this actually happened
i also might say that the victory wasn't easy nor unreasonable. think about the fact that nobody knew how to defeat angels is the exact reason hazbin's crew won. indeed the more power you got the less carelessness you should have.
and i'd really enjoy to share some of my highlights of this battle if I do say so
here wee goooo:
sir pentious kissing the girl he loves than heroically dies and goes to heaven. absolutely nailed it
charlie's demon form. and shall we not forget ruzzle and duzzle in their dragon form.
that absolutely iconic show up from lucifer and him in the whole battle
niffty killing adam. i'd say this is hilarious
alastor being beaten, afraid and panicked. yes, i WAS talking about it. it was important to show he can feel real emotions and fear and loss are one of them
three vees watching battle for hotel and living their best lives(i still hate val, just to be clear)
what is really natural about the battle that they don't just celebrate victory. they mourn pentious, and charlie feels guilty, but they still go on, rebuild hotel singing one of the best songs for the whole show
Tumblr media
i am intrigued by what the season 2 has to offer for us, my dear friends and I surely will be waiting for it
now i'm just about to thank you for reading this and wish you a pleasant day!

TLOU ep.8 spoilers
When Joel finds Ellie at the end of the episode, the first thing he says to her is "It's me". Normally, that could read as a comfort, a victorious sentiment of 'it's alright, I'm here now'. But the way he says it, it sounds more like confusion. He doesn't immediately understand why her reaction is as desperate and violent as it is even when she's facing him. He doesn't yet understand why he has to clarify for her that it's him. He is genuinely confused.
Only then, when she settles a little, do the realizations come flooding for Joel. Now he processes just how disheveled and scared and frantic she is. He's never seen her in a state like this, which he knows can only mean one thing - whatever Ellie has just been through, it has been so much worse than anything they've faced together before now.
And he says it again, "It's me", and then he says "It's okay". And this time it is a comfort, a statement of safety.
And Ellie starts trying to explain, but she can't get anything coherent out so she just collapses into his arms and hugs him.
Joel is not stupid, and he is not a wishful thinker. He knows that Ellie is a 14-year-old girl who was kidnapped by unknown men, was gone for hours, and who has now emerged from a burning building covered in blood and so traumatized that she screams and struggles the moment he touches her. He knows what these signs all point to, and the absolute terror that he must feel, fearing what Ellie probably went through. It would be paralyzing to any parent.
So he just repeats "It's okay." And he says "babygirl", and he says "I got you", because that's how he comforts his daughters. As much as he didn't want to admit it, Ellie is his daughter now, and he promised himself he'd do anything to protect her, and that's all he knows how to do in this moment. To tell her that he's here, he's him, she's safe. That it's okay.
They both know that it isn't but, fuck, what else can you do?

d20 finale thoughts.
for being the ‘horror season’, the intrepid heroes really go all in on the comedy in neverafter. i was laughing through the finale, in between some high stakes roles, npc and pc deaths, and wave after wave of enemies.
now that i think about it, this finale just shows how much the intrepid heroes have really tightened up their strategy as players, to the point that they can pull really crazy bits in the midst of battle and still hit a victory at the end of the day. for every ih season, they’ve had to step up the final battle to make it something that’s conceivably a challenge to the players
like in fhfy, they had some quips in the final battle, and a clutch beardsley roll to kick off the final ep, but it’s all battle focus. more individual attacks, and just trying to keep everyone alive pre-aguefort intervention. they had a few smaller enemies to deal with, but the primary issue was kalvaxus.
with tuc, it’s a similar scenario, but they have more options in terms of calling allies and a more complex environment. the individual appeals from the american dream, as well as the continuation of their fight with robert moses make this a more involved combat than fhfy. they were more confident coming in.
with acoc, the balance between troop mechanics and individual combat was the new challenge--the gimmick of the battlefield being the one they had previously fled from, as well as the task of getting rid of the leaders as well as the general troops added a new dimension to the ih final combats. edit: the intra-party tension added to this battle in particular; saccharina & ruby really defined the end of the campaign.
once they hit fhsy, battles became longer and carried out over more than just the two finale episodes. with theater of the mind, brennan could give them a longer sequence of individual and group combat. it starts with the nightmare forest individual fear scenes, layers on the need to rescue their attacking/trapped allies, as well as the continuity of the lore going on throughout the battle. i would say this style of battle, with multiple waves to exhaust the intrepid heroes, set a precedent for future combats.
with tuc II, the longer battle sequence continued, but more condensed. tony simos @ gramercy took 1 and a half episodes to get through, and so did null at the dragon’s hoard. again, each battle had layered mechanics e.g. having to stop the umbral engine overload and then having to birth the dragon. this style of battle aligns with what we saw in previous final combats, and has just the funniest instance of a divine intervention that i’ve seen.
in starstruck, they have talespire. they also have a lot of enemies, with their guns, trained on you. there were a few layers to this combat. again, the extension from a previous battle episode, the split between minis and ship combat, and of course, who could forget margaret encino, turning their enemies away with the power of emails and girlbossing her way into a campaign office. literally overwhelming odds that they managed to pull through including a 2 on the die from gnosis.
and now with neverafter, they had waves of powerful enemies, going from a siege to a tower defense from one episode to the next, the baba yaga, the ally persuasion mechanics, and the objective of holding concentration on bottle of ink that has hand(s), while either convincing or killing everyone else. the actual battle was not the hard part--as evidenced by the shenanigans they pulled off by the skin of their teeth. it was just the singular goal, and more rp than previous final combats. they also just crit. so much. no need for a beardsley crit when you’ve got siobhan one-shotting fairies and zac killing god and rolling an 18 that makes a new universe.
in short, as d20 has grown, so to have the intrepid heroes (+brennan). i’m excited to see where they go from here.

Dabi's dance
I'm losing my mind. The episode was SO GOOD. Have some scattered thoughts and reactions (spoiler-heavy stuff under the cut):
I had full faith that Shimono would do a stellar job with his voice acting but his performance went above and beyond my expectations. He gave me literal chills. The range of emotions he managed to fit into Dabi's lines? *chef kiss* The way he kept jumping between maddened elation and sadness, between righteous despair and chilling fury?? Stunning. Spectacular.
I think my favourite part was when he said "Why didn't you notice I was your son?" and managed to inject that simple line with contempt, hurt and disappointment at the same time. Incredible
Second best part was when Dabi went from yelling "You don't know anything, so let me break it to you" with seething rage and frustration to the chilling way he uttered the line right after, "You can never get away from your past". HHHHHHHHHH I think I lost my mind there. It was SO GOOD. The shift from frenzied anger to that ice-cold voice, coupled with the punch of that line gives you whiplash in the best possible way, and perfectly encapsulates the range of Dabi's emotions there. He's spiralling, yes, but he's not spouting nonsense because he's "crazy". He's furious because Enji thought he could move on without him, move on from Touya.
The close-up to his despairing pose when he says "I wanted to make you happy," a hand clutching his head and gripping his hair like when he was a kid, and his voice going all soft and kinda self-deprecatory... CHILLS
On a completely different note, the special hair dye remover changing Dabi's hair color like a magical girl transformation made me laugh. On behalf of the moon, he will punish you and send you into a flaming hell
THE DANCING. Okay, this one was a surprise. I went into the ep with 0 expectations for the actual dancing bit, having no idea how they would animate it and fearing a shitty adaptation, but I really liked what they did. His moves are exactly as awkward and frenzied as I expected them to be when I read the manga, but I feel like the anime better conveys Dabi's mental state through the whole thing (as it's supposed to, being a fluid visual media that conveys movement better than any stills ever could). Overall, his "dance" gave me the feeling of a puppet that got its strings abruptly cut off and moved like a broken toy. It wasn't a victory dance and it wasn't supposed to. The anime made it clear it was just Dabi working through his adrenaline. The first moves, the clapping, the arms moving wildly around with no clear pattern, the broad sweeping gestures, the way he seemingly doesn't know what to do with his limbs... it was the perfect depiction of Dabi letting out the energy building up under his skin, the same energy that draws on his emotions. He was drunk on a cocktail of conflicting feelings and his "dance" was a great visual way of showing that
Baby Touya was so small and precious TT_TT I felt my heart breaking for him all over again, and all the little glimpses we got crushed my soul. The card in the ending was a special low blow
Infant Touya struggling to stand on his tiny toddler feet *bawls*
Fuyumi and the flower... cries... now if only all of Bones' additions were good content like this...
Natsuo watching the broadcast on his phone... idk why but that scene punched me in the chest harder than it did when I read the manga. I'm gonna go cry
Fuyumi having colleagues right there with her as she watched too... another addition but I liked the detail of the guy looking worriedly at her instead of the screen
I'm not super thrilled that they added the still of Dabi looking like this:
Tumblr media
at this point of the story, because the original panel comes from much later, and it's supposed to depict Dabi from Enji's distorted POV, the way he pictures him in his memories. But I'm so happy about the whole ep that I'm gonna let this slide. Dabi should look a bit unhinged. It's his best flavor after all
Man, Endvr's fanboy is just as annoying as I remembered. "His lies won't shake our faith in our hero" WELL MAYBE THEY SHOULD. MAYBE PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE EXACTLY THE KIND OF PEOPLE DABI'S CALLING OUT. Wouldn't that be crazy
Ha! they didn't show Hawks slicing Twice's back open, lol. Just a still. But hey, they had to keep it pg I guess. Let it not be said that Dabi doesn't think of the children /j
Kaji (Shouto's VA) also did an incredible job. The sheer panic in Shouto's voice when Dabi was plummeting towards them gave me chills. My boy was SCARED and CONFUSED and barely keeping his shit together himself and my heart broke for him. Now I'm really looking forward to his performance (and Shimono's) in the next ep, knowing what's coming

Ok, I was thinking… Zym had less prominence these last two seasons (in s5 even Stella had more shine than him). Makes sense I guess, because this arc is called "the mystery of Aaraos", but the series is still called "the dragon prince". So… Do you think Zym is going to be a key piece for the development of the last arc? Like, do you think it's a piece of Aaravos's game or a piece to defeat him?
So while Zym is the 'central' figure in arc 1... he's effectively a macguffin, both in and outside of the egg. Like - Zym gets a small arc about fear and flying that is mostly tethered to Ezran in S2 (and carries over in 3x09) and a tiny, 2-ep arc of being scared to go see his mother (pretty much on her deathbed) in 3x08-3x09. Like, he has personality and importance, but he's mostly there to illuminate the other characters choices surrounding his existence. All of the dragons in arc 1 are, effectively, far more plot devices than characters with maybe the exception of Avizandum in 3x06 (and even then that's malleable) and possibly Sol Regem, but he exists more to be a bigoted obstacle than a character in 3x01 (save for the flashbacks).
S4 is the first season that changes this radically, featuring Zym, Zubiea, and Rex Igneous as fully realized characters. Zym has more emotional resonance as a character (his bond with Ibis, his love for his mother and Ez, his complex responses to Rex Igneous besmirching the father he'll never know, etc). While it's definitely on the back burner in S5, it's more so of a 'return to form' of the previous seasons than anything new or different in terms of prominence. After all, Zym only saves the kids once (1) in S2 as well, and he does the same thing in S5. However, Zubeia and Sol Regem keep us tethered to "having dragons as characters" element.
That said, I do think Zym's presence in the story will continue to be important - he'll likely have an arc of missing / reuniting / replacing (?) his mother next season, maybe having to look into the logistics of a draconic child king (if that's even a Thing) and some nice Ezran parallels. Aaravos also said that "the key is the dragon prince" in regards to Viren's plans for Xadia (and presumably Aaravos' initial plans for getting out) in 3x09, but it's not clear if that still holds. However, I do think that Zym plays some part in arc 2 - whether as an aspect of defeat or victory for Aaravos - simply because Zym is literally in the stars in the intro. (His existence being what Leola wished for, maybe?)
Tumblr media
Like arc 1 was about Zym, long thought dead/gone, being returned to the world. Now Aaravos is on that same path, with his own two Katolian humans + one elf team. So Zym's still gonna be important. He'll just never be as developed as our human/elf main cast of characters, and I don't think he needs to be.

@hotdiggitydollie and i realized ep 9 has a description of the vampires being summoned to ‘Morrigan House’ by a mysterious vampire.
Of course i immediately hoped it was Antonio Banderas. But googling theres a succubus character from a vampire game named Morrigan. Shes female.
Okay. Then i became heavily shamed for being a lax pagan cuz Morrigan is one (or 3) goddesses who to quote wikipedia: ‘The Morrígan is mainly associated with war and fate, especially with foretelling doom, death, or victory in battle. In this role she often appears as a crow, the badb. She incites warriors to battle and can help bring about victory over their enemies. The Morrígan encourages warriors to do brave deeds, strikes fear into their enemies, and is portrayed washing the bloodstained clothes of those fated to die. She is most frequently seen as a goddess of battle and war and has also been seen as a manifestation of the earth- and sovereignty-goddess, chiefly representing the goddess's role as guardian of the territory and its people.’
Btw we have yet to see Nandor’s prince charming outfit in an ep. And ep 9 is immediately followed that night by the finale ‘exit interview’ both credit Paul Simms.
This is pure speculation, i have no proof i got it correct. Just riffing off an ep summary lol

"One Way Out" is truly masterful TV. Andor keeps getting better and better, and I think it's due to the way they highlight different emotions.
Andor's biggest strength is not the emotions it's able to evoke. Any somewhat decent storyteller can make you feel sad or happy or angry. No, Andor's biggest strength is how it evokes those emotions.
They do it in an almost mundane way, without big pomp, just visuals. (Spoilers below the cut):
There is nothing epic or grandiose about the way Bix is tortured in ep 9. They just explain what this type of torture is and they put the headphones on her. They don't even play the sounds she is hearing. You just see her reactions, her shaking, the fear and horror in her eyes and that's enough.
They don't hit you over the head with how bad Narkina 5 is. The characters aren't making big speeches about how terrible it is. In fact, the characters barely even acknowledge their own shitty situation. Instead, they show you their day-to-day lives repeatedly, they show you Cassian completely zoned out to avoid facing the horror that he's living. They don't make a villain out of Kino, rather they show you he's a bit of an ass but still another prisoner. They don't remind you the prisoners might get fried on a whim, they show you their bare feet on the floor, the red lights at night.
And possibly my favorite: Kino's tragedy. He was the most eager to get out, willing to comply with his captors to an extreme because if he could only hang on a little longer he would be out and it would be over if he just played by every rule and made sure everyone else did too. And then he realizes he won't be able to get out and acts. He goes along with Cassian's plan, he is the defining factor in their victory and in the end? It's pointless. He doesn't get out. They show you the chaos of the men throwing themselves off the platform to escape and in the middle, Kino stands still. Sorrow takes over him. Cassian can't even hear him amongst the mess, but we can. It's not a big dramatic shot of Kino. It's just a somewhat far away shot, not even a close up, where he whispers "I can't swim".
And you understand. You understand perfectly and you feel for him and you want to cry and scream and you're yelling "someone help him swim!". You expect Cassian, our hero, our main character who motivated him to rebel, to save him and then what? He falls off. Cassian falls off the platform without even hearing what Kino said. He runs without ever knowing what became of Kino.
And it hits you extra hard, because this is exactly what Kino was supposed to do. He did everything right: he fought, he saved everyone and then. Boom. He can't swim. He never learned. There is absolutely nothing he can do about it. He's doomed because of something beyond his control.
It's exactly what TV should be. I can't believe we ever got such a masterfully created Star Wars show. Unbelievable.

EP/CHAPTER 1 - Part 1
Tumblr media
Summary: Margaret Gracie or Maggie, a magical, powerful and curious novice from the Kingdom of Mahanttan, together with her other novice friends/sisters, go to the infamous Kingdom of Hell's Kitchen together with the Mother Superior, but when they escape and end up going to a boxing match in the In the darkest corners of Hell's Kitchen, Maggie ends up meeting a boxer with a big heart, confidence, strength, a wild and strong magic that she has never seen before and a fighting spirit that will change both of their lives forever.
Tumblr media
nce upon time In a distant universe there were lands that possessed such magical, exceptional and phenomenal gifts.
Magic and primitive yet evolved technology built these lands and gave them their gifts, resources and power, one of them being interuniversal transportation that allows them to connect with each other so they can always be together and care for each other
Tumblr media
These lands were born together and their empires were built together with their strength, heart, dedication, honesty, love, patience, responsibility, truth and justice
Tumblr media
ut of all the lands there is one that is feared and excluded from the others because of its appearance, decadence, dark history, misery, evil, pain and horrors for curious eyes !!!!
and this land is known as…………….
Then the scene approaches a land with a burned part on the map of the realms
Tumblr media
“HELL'S KITCHEN”
A deplorable place to live, without clean air which is polluted and toxic so the citizens here have to wear oxygen masks to breathe, a dead sun which is worn out so this kingdom is sober and cold with only the boiling lava to heat the misery and misfortune of this land without vertility that is also in drought and without resources
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, a land that is condemned to rot, without any ray of hope, just disgrace, misery, pain, deaths and crimes and deep inside this tundra of lava and misery lies the capital of Hell's Kitchen, Fisk Tower, which is full of technological buildings and oxygen platforms made for people who can afford to survive, as those were destined to rot in the lifeless lands of Hell's Kitchen that made the poorest and most miserable part of the kingdom. And just like every story, this begins here in sector HK-2334T, a slum area between the lifeless lands of Hell's Kitchen and the technological parts and ruins of decayed buildings, known as an area of illegal fights where magical and technological users, fighters who have nothing and all they have are their strength because they have nothing and need to support themselves if they want to breathe and live and have a place in the society of the house of Fisk that a harsh and soulless society like its ruler King Wilson Fisk
Tumblr media
These fighters are savage, ruthless, powerful, strong, deadly beasts and......... Sons of bitches!$$&;$!!377!!!!!! Come on, you weight of metal, I bet a lot of money on you!!! Steel Adam, who was in the ring, gets up and chokes and rips the Mega Crucher and the crowd goes crazy with applause and wild screams and Steel Adam screams his victory cry and among a crowd was a group of novices who ran away from Mother Superior because they wanted to explore Hell's Kitchen because this place shouldn't be everything that the others and King Page say about Hell's Kitchen being the disgrace of the human race and all magic “MAGGIE!!!” Steel Adam won and he's giving a scream that I think is victory, and how can I say exotic? The young novice Maggie Grace who was among her novice friends says in a calm tone "they are very strong and dedicated but they look like rockers mixed with homeless Vikings but they are skilled and very dedicated”, but then Fabiana, who was on Maggie's left, says excitedly Girls, look at that!!! Everything then started to fade out and then a man with bushy hair and a leather jacket and scars stands in the middle of the ring with a silver microphone
Tumblr media
“Attention everyone, our Mega Hard round of the Hell's Kitchen Fight will now begin so place your bets because now this is going to get ugly and your brains will fly”
Tumblr media
Then Davi Wayne took care of the active bets or the command to start the moves and the spaces lit up even more with each bet. "Bet $$$$$$$100,000” in Primary"!!!! "Bet $$$$$$$345,000” in Primary"!!!” talk to several people, getting higher and higher the bid
meanwhile in the VIP and private boxes Roscoe Sweeney known in the Criminal Underworld of Hell's Kitchen fights and corruption as "Lord Fixer" he was drinking a Diamond Jubilee Whiskey from his glass. The value is R$851,723.07. ...
Tumblr media
Fixer was laughing at the suffering and pain of the fallen and seriously injured fighters while smiling at the money he earned from his sweat and scars and he also had his abusive agreements after all he created each of those fighters who were left on his doorstep like miserable rats who They were worth nothing to their families and some were even sold to him in exchange for oxygen, food and money to show how that Kingdom is hell and misfortune and the pit of those who are weak and at his side a hooded figure in black with golden edges and collar with devil's tridents and small golden flames with jewels, however, when he removes the hood a little, he reveals a pure golden crown lined with jewels coming from all lands with tridents and devil's flames and Hell gold and that crown was on the head of a young 27 year old bald man with some recent fight scars and under the cape a fancy suit in the middle with a logo saying Fisk Corp
Tumblr media
He was himself the Lord of Crime, calamity, King of Hell's Kitchen, the monarch of this bloody and hopeless land, a man who saw the future but used dark magic and strength to rule, a coward but strong, powerful and well dressed , a tyrant and monster for others or a savior and a noble king for others who were too foolish to see what hides beneath that crown, a great king and feared and respected by many This was Kingpin or King Wilson Fisk, the great and powerful CEO of Fisk Corp and BNL Superstore and the infamous king of Hell's Kitchen. The Fisk clan was the powerful monarchy, of pure steel, injustices, crime, death and those who could not pay or were not worthy or strong enough were left aside to survive alone in the devastated world that was Hell's Kitchen.
"Roscoe"said Fisk looking up at the half-broken roof of the fighting arena which had an exact view of one of the towers of one of Hell's Kitchen's old golden age castles where it was now in ruins, devastated and lots of poor and homeless people lived there and they spent the night to survive as there was still some air and supplies there and it was the site of several deaths and homicides and in addition to major battles with thousands of corpses of dead workers and soldiers
Tumblr media
WIlSON WHAT SH#$t is that I was doing something important! Fisk just puts his hand on the text and sighs because what Fixer was doing was that he had his eye on one of those skinny girls downstairs who are showing off, but Fisk doesn't want that because his heart belongs to someone else he has his eye on. It's been a while but now it's not the topic so Fisk says: Fixer, stop being bizarre and perverted about these wild, unowned tigers that are worthless and talk to me!!!Fixer growled and grunted but nodded.”See my empire that I built, these were very difficult years for Hell's Kitchen but I didn't give up and built this empire that is BNL FISK for all of us” Fisk spoke triumphantly “Yes Wilson while we sucked up all those poor wretches and every penny and drop of sweat they gave us in “exchange for a survival and a place in society to have at least dignity” Fixer then drink your whiskey then the lights go out and Fixer smiles saying ready for fun your highness and Fisk smiles maniacally. "With you on the other more criminal, dirty, poor and less attractive side of Hell's Kitchen the one you were waiting for all night and then Maggie is hyponitized by the sight of this fighter who has now appeared”

Do you really think Daemyra could have plotted to kill Laenor and not to send him across the Narrow Sea?
i didn't actually say what i think, i said the show chose ambiguity. i think the point is we don't know for sure.
when it comes to what interpretation i lean towards, yeah it's most likely that all four of them were in on it, but i also think people buying Daemon's bullshit 'set him free' line are missing the point of what happened. it's not some kinda victory for the gays or whatever. Rhaenyra and Daemon didn't do this for Laenor: they did it for themselves. It's their plan, not Laenor's -- and lbr Daemon absolutely would have gone with murder if Rhaenyra had been fine with it, and in fact if Laenor hadn't accepted to go with functional exile i doubt he would have survived for very long.
i think Rhaenyra wouldn't have wanted to kill Laenor if there was an option not to, because she does like him, but also last ep made it clear she wasn't exactly happy with him as a partner in not-yet-crime, and in her last on-screen convo with Laenor she said he was basically a good dude with a good heart, which sounds nice and lovely... until you contrast it with her and Daemon talking about wanting people to fear what they could do next. that's what she wants: Daemon, not just because the both of them have a bad case of Targaryen Psychosexual Fuckery going on, but also because she wants a partner (in crime), and not just any partner but one who projects 'fire and blood and murder', and that's more Daemon (who like. killed his first wife. he already has a reputation for spousal killing and impredictabilityand violence) than Laenor. who, as we've established, she's been disappointed in.
the result of the plot is that Laenor's technically alive at the end, but functionally he's dead: most everyone within the story will put his death at Daemon and Rhaenyra's feet, which is what they want. and Laenor himself is basically banished from Westeros -- sure, last episode he wanted to go fight in the Stepstones, but more recently he gave a speech to Rhaenyra about basically being ready to commit now, and also are we really gonna pretend going to fry some dudes in the Stepstone is the same thing as having to definitely leave his home with some fake name or another, never to see his family again, leaving his parents to think he's dead like a week after his sister's funeral? because that's a fucking weird take imo.
so yeah overall i think it was a selfish move on Rhaenyra and Daemon's part, and that they didn't offer Laenor 'freedom' but told him how things were gonna be, and that Laenor wasn't so stupid he didn't realize he could either go with it or wait for an unfortunate accident to happen to him.
(also i'm fine with it! i think it leads into the kind of fucked up shit Rhaenyra and Daemon will later do, and that it fits with them being the kind of people who would, in the span of like a week, fuck on the very day of one of their spouse's funeral, have a shotgun blood wedding in front of their grieving kids, and chose to rule through fear like alexa play bad reputation. im into their being toxic insane bitches.)

Post rock recs from me:
I see you've already discovered This Will Destroy You. They're great especially for ambiental stuff. My fav albums from them are S/T and Young Mountain. My fav tracks hmm that's harder to choose. "They move on tracks of never ending light" from S/T and "I believe in your victory" from Young Mountain.
Another fave of mine is If These Trees Could Talk. They are often labeled as post metal too, which means they're harder than the usual post rock. My fav album from them is Red Forest. It's possibly my fave album ever ever ever. It's a concept album about Chernobyl. My favourite tracks from that are "The first fire" and "Whwn the big hand buries the twelve". The first fire, especially, is the song of all time and in my opinion, is tge defining sound of this band. But I genuinely like their entire discography (4 albums). I really hope they'll put out a 5th one soon!!! Other faves from them: "Signal tree" from their self titled album, "rebuilding the temple of Artemis" from Above the Earth Below the Sky. The album Bones of a dying world really grew on me recently, too. Can't really pick a fave. Maybe Berlin. Or After the smoke clears.
Another fave is There's a Light. Genuinely like their entire discography (again, not much, just 3 albums). "We choose to go to the moon" from their Khartoum debut ep. "Farewell my friend" and "White marble" from A long lost silence. And "Fear keeps pace with hope" and "Even in the darkest place..." from their most recent album, what may I hope for, what must we hope for
I have listened to the entire discography (many albums) of Collapse under the empire. It's good but not my favourite, like only some songs stand out as favourites.
There's also We Lost the Sea. Only know one album so far but it goes the hardest. Departure songs. It's all amazing but if you have to choose, then the two Challenger songs
As seas exhale is another one. Listened to two albums by them. I like the Voyager one, very relaxing. Mare incontra il cielo is the song of all time ever
All post rock music I've discovered so far ever can be found here:

OOhhhh perfect tysm!!! My usual rotation is Silent Island, Black Hill, Release the Longships, and This Will Destroy You; I'm so happy to add more to my lists heheh

Dabi requests you say 👀
I can get some headcanons of Dabi having a boyfriend that’s a nurse? He helps Dabi with his scars and the other members of the LOV when they get back from a mission. I think that would be really sweet 🥰 Thank you in advance!!
spoilers for new ep and slight manga spoilers for dabis backstory . Also I’m very sorry for this being so fucking angsty I have been having insane brainrot
Dabi appreciates you taking care of him, but in the end it’s usually not as sweet as it could be. Because you usually get upset by how far he goes.
You sigh, doing your best to fix the newer burn scars. He was getting worse, these scars weren’t the ones you were used to. They were reaching past his stitches at this point. At this rate he was going to be nothing more than burning, rotting flesh. These thoughts eat away at you everyday, now more than usual. Ever since he revealed his true identity to the world, to his brother, to his father… he’s been.. going too hard. It’s war, you know. But even with keigo he wasn’t like this. Even when you guys were kids, he wasn’t this rough around keigo and especially not you. Jealousy was something he always felt when it came to the blonde but you were always able to quell it, until you couldn’t.
You feared that the same thing was happening again. That he was once again destroying himself, but this time he wouldn’t make it out alive. He just wouldn’t be able to. It was a miracle he turned out alive when you were kids but now..? No way. Not unless he ended up like shigaraki somehow and even that was hopeful, you imagined.
You fixed him up, even though you didn’t cry he knew something was wrong and he knew he was the cause of it. You were always the one to fix him up. There’s an immeasurable guilt he feels, everytime. He knows you deserve better, he knows he shouldn’t have convinced you to join the league in the first place. He knows he should’ve let you live a normal, good life. A life you could be proud of. A life without any regrets and without anymore pain and abuse and fear. But he ruined that for you. You were free but you weren’t happy and he knows that’s on him, even if you try to tell him otherwise he knows it’s his fault you’re so miserable.
He’s known you his entire life, it always felt like he could never live without you. So he decided he wouldn’t even try to live without you. He can’t even imagine how keigos felt this entire time, but he can’t find it in him to care of the shitty blonde. He can barely think about the dirty traitor before wanting to tear him apart. The only reason he stopped himself from killing him was because he knew how upset you, his wonderful boyfriend, would be. You’ve done everything for him, he needs to at least do this one thing for you.
He grabs a hold of your hand, for once it’s a soft, gentle touch. Not rough like you were used to. He had his moments of being soft, even if he acted different these days, even if he was the rough villain known as Dabi, he was still the hurt and abused child, touya at heart. But he was more than just a hurt and abused child, he was a man, despite his roughness, despite seeming like he didn’t care for anyone he was a kind person. You saw it, even if you were the only one. Kind enough to find the value in somebody as pathetic as you, at least. To you, he was the kindest man in the world. That’s why it broke you, to see him destroy himself. In his eyes, he deserved it, he deserves his victory no matter the cost but he also knew he was a total piece of shit that deserved to die just as much as the rest of his family. Even if you didn’t feel the same.
You put your face in his neck, letting out a deep sigh. “I hate when you do this.” you say, trying not to let the tears fall. He lets you do as you please, “I know.” he says simply, guilt racks his entire body, his very soul, knowing he’s only hurting you. But he can’t stop. He won’t stop. And you both know that. He wishes he could tell you how sorry he is he couldn’t provide you more than the shit he gives you. Your love for one another is twisted, you both know it. It’s not normal, some might even say it’s abusive. You both are inclined to disagree, knowing what true abuse was like during your fucked up childhoods. Still, you both know this form of love can’t be good.
“I hate you so much.” you say, with no true malice behind your words. He knows this, but he almost wishes you truly did hate him. Maybe it would’ve made it easier, less painful, to slowly kill himself like this.
In the end, you both know that his need for revenge, his own form of justice, will kill him. And you don’t know if you’ll be able to handle it.

In Invisible Victory ep 2, when sousuke is trying to escape in the car with chidori. She asks if he wants her to shoot while he drives and he responds "don't touch that gun" and "you just can't" what does he mean by this ?
In the novels we get his thoughts clearly spelled out! He doesn't want her to have a kill count. She had just been horrified by his the night before. She's been through a lot, but she's still a civilian. She should retain innocence. He fears that if she kills, she won't be able to smile.
He was hired to protect her body, and hopefully mind. He wants to protect her smile.

So do you think vegas was attracted to Pete from the start & just had manipulating Porsche on his mind to do anything about it ??
Hi!!
Yeh I think both Vegas and Pete have been very attracted to each other for a while I would say Pete more but once Pete was in his vicinity yeah Vegas was hooked by him too, and he acted on it, he made it known, he played around with it, and he wanted to use the attraction to amuse and keep him distracted, however yeah Vegas's focus was always on his father's love and ambition to succeed and take over Kinn and become the head mafia family instead, to bring his father to victory and to make his father stop hurting him. That's the focus for him in the show, to make his father stop hurting both him and his brother, and Vegas has been obsessed with that and Porsche was one of the keys as it's one of the jobs his father gave him to do, and we know his past with that that he always fails doing that (hedgehogs) and he gets berated and abused for it, so I think Vegas had no choice but to have Porsche only on his mind, and not to focus on anything that was going to ruin his plans, because again Vegas may be attracted to Pete but he was always being there ruining his plans, trying to stop him from eating with them in episode 5, spying on him and then ruining and exposing everything after ep 10, so Vegas was always on edge with Pete because his loyalty to Korn/Kinn made him an enemy hence why he always switches or becomes brutal each time he thinks Pete shows that loyalty which is what made him snap in episode 13, and go back to calling him a pet. So yeah essentially Vegas has been wanting and attracted to Pete from the start but he doesn't have time or energy to put into the things that do intrigue or interest him unless they force themselves to get his attention and that's what Pete's spying does, it opens up that door a potential/risk to his plans and so he starts to then act on that need to touch, see or seduce him, and we see that happen immediately after episode 6. With Pete, same but different, Pete's own thing is loyalty and need to be seen as the good guy, his legacy and reputation being honest and cool, however he also knows and has been into Vegas from probably the moment he knew of him, I think people don't get this cause it's very subtext but show Pete is into Vegas pre the spying and he is attracted to him and wanting him he's always seen and noticed him and just left it at that, he gets nervous, and crush like when he's near him and I really am suspicious about why they keep letting him see VegasPorsche moments, will this build up to something in episode 13? cause most changes have been to do with that, him always seeing VegasPorsche work together, flirt, or escape. It's interesting. Pete regressed immediately after he acted on his attraction because he got chained back up and his fear of being used by his enemy was stark and real and he also felt the safe house wasn't permanent or healthy to stay in, this is all to do with that need for his duty and obligation and his reputation to be good, and that's what broke him. That's how Pete survives though his own issues, and Vegas on the other survives his by focusing on pleasing his father which is why it's refreshing to see them move from regression to growth at the end of episode 13, without fully knowing where the other one is at. Man I love them
Thanks anon, hope this long winded answer helped, yes they both are attracted but their survival adaptabilities are in the way and it's making them miscommunicate and misunderstand and hurt each other, and it's been what's been holding them back from acting on it. Episode 13 finally exposed those things and showed them they want each other more... so we'll see where they go from there cause now it's time for Pete to tackle his loyalty and duty issues. And Vegas to truly cut away from his father that will be powerful indeed. Hope you have a good day anon.

“What now? I’m going to have my cake and eat it.”
It’s Tom Barnaby’s last line, the ending of his goodbye ep Fit for Murder. Doesn’t sound like much, but it’s such quietly great sign-off.
It gives us a glimpse into how Barnaby feels about leaving. How he sees himself, his family and his career. His final line is ironic, he talks about having it all when what he’s feeling is mostly loss. It goes with the whole ep that’s very melancholy all along, and anything but a victory lap.
It’s why I love Andrew Payne’s Midsomer eps. They’re all character-driven. They want to tell stories of more depth. I love that he looks at Barnaby who’s traditionally been written as a fun middle-class power fantasy/ father figure, and goes yeah this man has problems. That his take on Barnaby’s goodbye ep really comes down to: I’m gonna go through all of those problems and solve none of them. The way Barnaby gets such a freeing moment when he talks about his father’s death, but in the end he still can’t overcome his guilt and grief. That he outlives his dad in years, but his memory keeps haunting him. As for his detective job, Barnaby passes the dreaded medical that made him question whether he still has what it takes. But he also realises it’s time to go. He gets to retire on his own terms and spend time with his family, but it costs him part of himself. Barnaby’s last line ties it all together.
He has to let go of some things.
He can’t have his cake and eat it.
Or maybe he can. Barnaby retires on what he feared would be the day of his death, but it’s actually his birthday. A new life, a new beginning?? Maybe he’ll enjoy retirement more than he thinks. Maybe he’ll get to have his cake and eat it after all.
Barnaby’s last ep was always going to be a sad one – it’s sad to see him go. And Payne wrote a case for it that’s all about loss and holding on, about love and dedication. But most of all he decided to make it an ep about Barnaby’s own sadness. About what he feels as he leaves. Which makes it a great farewell.

The saddest bit about reader is that she's likely more like Alicent than Elia or Cersei in that both Elia and Cersei had brothers who would casually kingslay if they had tears in their eyes.
Like, Elia was strong as fuck. There isn't any doubt she was, she had to convince her family that she was at least content in her marriage because Oberyn would have 100% murdered both Aerys's racist ass and Rhaegar's dumbass. Doran would have tried for diplomacy to get her and her kids back if not start a war for her.
Cersei couldn't tell Jaime shit about Robert did to her because Robert would be dead. Tywin, unless he was hit with Viserys level of delusion, went to war for (the throne tbh) her and her bastard kids.
The reader comes from a powerful and influential house but has no support in that same way. Her mother and Alicent's are pretty much on par in terms of support (and Alicent's died) and their father's are not much help aside from getting them to be birthing machines for a Targaryen.
The loyalty they have is either on account of desire or unrequited love (Criston-Quinton/Aegon) or through the children they obviously love and want to protect but end up being unintended shields in conflicts (I feel like Daella will end up standing up for Reader in the same way Aegon did for Alicent). The only familial support they have is through the children that also tie them to the environment they are in. They don't have family to truly turn to as they are the sacrificial lamb into the dragons jaws for power.
(I don't think Larys has any desire for Alicent beyond getting enjoyment out of using her desperation to hurt her)
I love love love this ask because I went back and forth on deciding of if I wanted reader to have siblings or a sibling. If she did have sibling, like you said it probably would’ve been an Alicent situation where they are older and have their own lives or younger to the point where she would feel bad burdening them. I wish we would have gotten more information on Alicent’s relationship with her brother because based on the first ep it seems like they close. Or close enough she worried about him during the tourney. Her family says they are behind her but that’s AFTER she becomes queen and makes her allegiance clear with the green dress. The back her as long as the possibility of their blood being on the throne stands
If I did I probably would’ve made them much younger than her (reader has the strongest eldest daughter energy it’s sad lmao).
But I kind of have a headcanon in my head that reader’s parents had trouble conceiving, so she’s their only kid. It only adds to the pressure her mother puts on her. When her parents pass, whatever is in their name is hers. She’s their legacy.
Which moves into how reader’s kids are hers. I think she holds on very tight bc they will be in history books at Targaryens, despite the fact that she’s the one that had them and fought for them. I think that eats her up a lot. They will be targaryen dragon riders and probably expected to marry in the family and basically dilute her (and honestly Alicent’s “impure” blood”). And this ask reminded me about larys monologue at the end of ep 6.
“"What are children, but a weakness? A folly? A futility? Through them you imagine you cheat the great darkness of its victory. You will persist forever in some form or another. As if they will keep you from the dust. But for them you surrender what you should not. You may know what is the right thing to be done, but love stays the hand. Love is a downfall. Best to make your way through life unencumbered if you ask me”
I think Alicent and reader (rightly or wrongly) see their kids as extensions of them bc that’s all they have.
On the quinton/Aegon front, another fear of reader’s is that if she were to give into her desires, the loyalty would be gone. That they have gotten what they wanted and there is no need to help anymore. She sort of dangles herself as carrot a lot of the time bc she doesn’t know another way to gain power. She’s been told since she was young that being pretty and nice goes a long way with men.
The way otto tells Alicent “you’re the most comely girl in court, why must you ruin yourself” when talking about her clearly anxiety driven nail picking… is the way reader’s mother tells her she’s prettier than the other girls that Alicent could marry to Aemond, but it’s her tense disposition that isn’t cute. Not even seeing reader’s tense attitude… is bc of HER. Like her mother tells not to be so self deprecating while also demeaning her 💀
