The only two times we hear Minkowski and Eiffel hug (which represent half of the canonical hugs in the whole podcast) are in Ep31 (Sécurité) and Ep54 (The Watchtower). Both hugs occur after Eiffel has been missing out in space and Minkowski has had very good reason to believe that he's dead.

When he returns from being missing in action for the first time, Minkowski hugs him so tightly that he can barely breathe. Then immediately afterwards, she's embarrassed and apologetic; "sorry, I don't know what I'm doing…" (A few more of my thoughts on that hug here)

In contrast, when he returns from being missing in action for a second time, it's him who "embraces her tightly" (quote from the script directions). And I think it's not just that he wants to give her a hug, although of course he does. It's also that he thinks she will want to give him a hug and he knows she hasn't always found that open affection easy.

He could have hugged her without saying anything about it, he could have said something about him giving her a hug, but instead he asks her to hug him ("C'mere, give us a hug"). He asks her to do what his past experiences suggest she will want to do anyway but will feel self-conscious about. In that casual way - perhaps without even consciously thinking about it - he gives her permission to let her guard down the way he thinks she'll want to. And he doesn't know that she's not able to appreciate that gesture in that moment. He doesn't know that her desire to hug him is being suppressed by far more sinister forces than her attempts at composure.

wiwi whats ur favorite horror movie? or genre of horror?

Well, I don’t tend to watch horror movies all that often. They remind me too much of Deadwood, even if Deadwood has sorta desensitized me to some of the more fucked up things in horror.

I guess I like psychological horror, and my life already feels like a survival horror game half the time if that counts.

Not sure if this is a horror movie, but I like the Nightmare Before Christmas. Halloween AND Christmas? I’m pretty sure that’s better than prom night but I never got to go to prom so what do I know.

(Goth Felix Anon) I mean I definitely saw some similarities between the Feluka ship and HiroxKoji too. It seems to me like the main difference is their energy level?? Both Felix and Luka are more calm and cool headed than Hiro and Koji. And they also already focus their energy on different things, especially Felix, so they probably wouldn't be focused on each other that much. Hiro is kind of obsessed with Koji, but I don't see Felix suddenly becoming obsessed with Luka.

Of course there's also the circumstances of their potential conflict. If you replaced XY with Felix in silencer you might get a HiroxKoji senario? But not necessarily the HiroxKoji dynamic. And even then, what would Felix's motives be for stealing the song? Idk, but I can see why Feluka is a "less interesting HiroxKoji"

(although, I admit, I do like Feluka a little just because it's pretty funny if you think about from Marinette and Adrien's perspective)

No because I’m thinking again about how little care the cast has had for the NPCs this season. It’s even worse when it comes to the parents because the entire basis of the show is that it’s about family. I’m glad hypfix hasn’t blinded me to being critical of this show because when I really think about it, s2 could’ve been handled a lot better.

I’ll talk specifically about Rebecca and how even one of the players said she was the best choice to die. And I agree, but only for the reason that she’s the only spouse who’s actually *done* anything. We’ve maybe had a scene with Veronica once (and over the PHONE), Cassandra was shoved into a plotline to make Willy have an upper hand, and the one time they were with Marco was when someone got killed in his house. And Attack on Titanic does not count to me, sorry. Rebecca didn’t do much either, but she was there all throughout ep31-32 so that’s *something*. We got to actually interact with her. She had some kind of impact on the story. So to me she was the best choice to die in that it would be pointless to kill Terry again, killing another kiddad this late in the game would feel cheap, and killing one of the other kiddad spouses would be nothing. And if Scary’s bio dad had been the one to die that would feel even cheaper. Genuinely why the hell is he even here. I'm worried about what will possibly happen with him next episode, I really would've rather us never meet him at all.

I could also write pages on the disrespect that’s been given to Hermie but it’s all stuff that’s been said before. The constant “is this the new Paeden?” “I think we found our new Paeden” about anyone but Hermie when Hermie’s done worlds more than Paeden ever did.

I’ll stop myself from ranting here but yeah. I really hope they treat the NPCs with more care next season. That being said I'm excited for the finale, but only so they can let these characters go and move on.

OH YEAH, but I think it's my gillion & lizzie design that changed around the most. because chip mostly stayed the same, I didn't change much with him and jay's design changed only a little but nothing significant.

BUT BRO, my gillion design changes like every other week I swear I can never find the perfect gillion... BUT yeah I noticed that over time his hair got so much longer, he became a bit softer and his tail suddenly grew (because I was seeing how other artists drew him with a cool tail and I was like HOLD ON I WANNA GIVE HIM A COOL TAIL TOOOO) and of course his outfit design changed a bunch, last time I nicked a few things from saturn's design to incorporate into mine,,,

OH and yeah, he became a walking highlighter pen for a while but I was like nah, roll it back ROLL IT BACK-

SO NOW the one on the far right is my """FINAL""" one, but then I decided to draw his hair in a bun and I think it'll stay like that lmao

I'm sorry but can we talk about Arthur's similarities to Faust???

*Spoiler warning for up to ep31*

For those who don't know German folklore/ literature, Faust follows the tale of a depressed and suicidal man who makes a deal with the devil to fufill his desire for knowledge. Now despite us knowing how Arthur's hunger for information has put his and John's survival at risk on multiple ocasions, There's so many parallels!

Faust makes a deal with a demon, not to concerned with the price. Arthur also makes a deal with a demon (kayne) not to concerned of the price.

Faust seduce a beautiful and innocent young woman, usually named Gretchen, whose life is ultimately destroyed when she gives birth to Faust's illegitimate son. Realizing this unholy act, she drowns the child and is held for murder. I DONT THINK I NEED to talk about this much. The fact that Faroe died drowning, that Faroe was also concieved out of wedlock, that Bella's family is super religious. Also the fact that arthur was this close to destroying Bella's life and leaving her with the child, plays an INTERESTING paraell.

Faust is irrevocably corrupted and believes his sins cannot be forgiven; when the term ends, the Devil carries him off to Hell. Let's just refference all of Arthur's Nightmares and his breakdown after killing Uncle.

I do find this concept interesting because Arthur is heading to New York as Kayne desire, from what prophesies insit is to serve the order of the Fallen Star. If we follow Faustian folklore, it's likely that Arthur is entering a trap in which he's going to see the fine print of his deal, and find himself in servitude. Considering in the story, Mephistopheles (the devils representative) serves Faust with his powers until death, and then the roles reverse. I do find it interesting, considering John is essentially at Arthur's beck and call. Could his secret deal between John and Kayne have something to do with an act of servitude. Has he got something in it to protect himself ? John seems quite desperate to keep Arthur from death, seems more afraid of what waits for arrhur than himself. Something seemed to insist they wont end up in the same place. maybe he knows that the deals made will have Arthur enterally enslaved.

There is a slightly more modern interpretation in which Faust is saved by God via his constant attempts to be a good person. Who knows, maybe John could be his saving grace, and push him in the direction of freedom. Will the King in Yellow save Arthur from Kayne, does God save his follower from the devil?

These are interesting questions, that have me scared.

I think that- oh sorry HI 👋 I hope you don't mind the ask haha I didn't feel like rambling in tags- I've also noticed the downtrend in dndads posting, and while it *could* be some mini migration of people to other fandoms, I'm not so sure that that's the case? Not that people aren't getting into new things (I myself have been, for that matter,) but... How to put it. I feel like the show itself, despite approaching the finale, has kind of been at a quiet point where there simply isn't too much to talk about rn? Like I think the noise will pick back up in the fandom when it picks back up in the show if that makes sense?? Also just a busy time of year for a lot of people I think tbh! And since the fandom is so small to begin with (as you know), it's more noticeable when a bunch of people are preoccupied!

That's what I'm feeling anyways! But yeah I've been thinking about it too, and I empathize with the whole "feeling sad when people leave fandoms" thing, so I felt inclined to share my two cents in case it's any consolation haha. Regarding what you said about whether or not the show is "bad"- yeah, I agree! There's some places it really shines and some places that just aren't its forte, but me personally as long as I'm having fun I'm staying put right here! 😤❤️

HELLO!!! and yeah you bring up some good points... like there really isnt too much going on in the story character/emotion wise that people can latch on to (in contrast to the more angst ass eps that seem to be a bigger hit among fandom types) PLUS with only one jan ep the pace at which dndads has been releasing is. a bit slow (ep 50 was basically just 49 part 2 too so...)

as for the parts the show is good at vs the parts it isnt. i think it also comes down to the individuals/groups judging it, and the differences in their expectations... like with s2 ep31 the cast was talking about how the ep sucked in the teen talk, but on tumblr the tag had trended with SO much art... there have also been times when i had really enjoyed an episode only to find not much talk about it. so its really different for different people i guess

i try to not feel TOO dejected about stuff i have no control over (especially online stuff) but yknow life has been stressful and ig some of that stress had carried over to my posting. i didn't mean to start discussion about how good the podcast is (i've seen enough of that on reddit LOL) i dont wanna harsh the vibes, esp cuz i know i dont feel very good when i see critical posts about a show i DO enjoy a lot! When Minkowski hugs Eiffel in Ep31 Sécurité, she just grabs hold of him without making a sound, and the listener only knows about the hug because of the "oof" noise Eiffel makes in reacting to having "the wind knocked straight out of him", and the script directions say that Minkowski has "tears silently streaming down her face", and Eiffel is the one who directly acknowledges the hug verbally ("Don't apologise for hugging"). If all we had was Minkowski's side of the interaction, we probably wouldn't know that they hugged. 

When Eiffel hugs Minkowski in Ep54 The Watchtower, he first tells her "C'mere, give us a hug!", and he makes a happy sound of effort as he squeezes her, and Minkowski - under the influence of Pryce's restraining bolt - doesn't seem to have any reaction at all, which Eiffel doesn't appear to notice. Once again, if all we had was Minkowski's side of the interaction, we wouldn't know that they hugged. 

The question of 'in what ways is the hug made audible?' feels much more significant in audio than it would in any another medium, and I do think it reflects something about these characters and their willingness to be open with their affection. Minkowski "grabs him and hugs him" hard enough to knock the wind out of him, but she does so silently. In a somewhat similar but also very different moment of reunion, Eiffel "embraces her" and he's not quiet as he does it. There's something about how Communications Officer Eiffel is always the one who verbalises their physical affection, whether or not he's the one who initiated the hug. The closest Minkowski gets to verbally acknowledging a hug is through an apology; Eiffel is the one who makes the hugs real for the listener.

Above you can find my interpretation of the geography in the immortal realm in Love Between Fairy and Evil, exclusively based on the information given in the TV show and excluding any information that might be found in the book from which the show was adapted.

THE REALM On a macroscopic scale, I think that: - The Moon Tribe lives in the east, since "dongfang"/"东方" in Dongfang Qingxang means "east" and "xun"/"巽" in Xunfeng means "south-east"; - The Xilan Tribe lives in the west, since the "xi"/"息" in their name, which means "breath", is an homophone wish "xi"/"西", which means "west"; Consequently, I would propose that Shuiyuntian is in the middle, also on the ground of being the protagonist's home and point of view.

SHUIYUNTIAN For the specific geography of Shuiyuntian, we know that it is surrounded by four waters, the Xiao, Xiang, Li, and Yuan four Waters. Even if we are not given the orientation of these waters, in my opinion they are oriented just as the real-life rivers of the same name in the province of Hunan. Here's some quote referring to the four waters:

EP9: "The Four Water Pearl controls Shuiyuntian. Li River is the source of the Four Water. If we don't make up for it, the water will flow backward. CANGYAN SEA For the specific geography of Cangyan Sea, we now that the nation is called Nine Youxian Counties, which if composed of a Nine You City, the Southern and Northern Youxian Counties and other counties. Silver lake and the Wind Plain also belong to Cangyan sea, being likely close to each other because they were attacked by the Southern and Northern kings in sequence and with Silver lake being likely in the south, since its southern border is exposed to Shuiyuntian's attacks. Here's some quotes referring to the nine counties:

EP9: "My Lord. Highness Xunfeng is fighting with the Kings of Southern and Northern Youxian County in Wind Plain. Now they have conquered the Silver Lake and are heading towards the Nine Youxian County." EP12: "There were many Cangyan Sea tribes. It seems that the Northermost Ocean is at the northern border and that the southern border is made out of land. The Memory Loss River has an end; possibly it flows into the Northernmost Ocean, which is especially possible if it flows north because in the south there is land. Here's some quotes referring to the border:

EP9: "This is the Memory Loss River, the boundary of two tribes." EP15: "Even if you run to the end of the Memory Loss River and the edge of the world, I can still find you." EP30: "The Shuiyuntian Army is gathering at the area around the Memory Loss River, the Northernmost Ocean, and the border of the southern regions." EP30: "If we can't stop them in the Xuanxu Realm, they can head straight into the Nine Youxian Counties."

HAISHI CITY As for Haishi City, I believe it is found west of the Memory Loss River, because after Dongfang Qingcang returns from Haishi City, he is refferred in Cangyan Sea as returning from the Memory Loss River.

i checked the asks you've got after ep31 was released and didn't found a question, so...

Why did Arthur react quite... weakly, as i perceive it, at Mr. Scratch in the end? he has encountered different horrors, monsters and even gods, he was, indeed, pissed more than scared in the dream. why did he kinda... freeze when Mr. Scratch appeared in the waking world? i know it's either on purpose or the result of patron choices (can't be one myself, alas), and i cannot understand why it worked like that, so it's more like a technical question :)

asking aside, i want to thank you for:

-*unspeakable* representation Mr. Scratch is to me. next to Kayne 🖤; i wonder if they appear in the next episodes, and no, not asking about it - i can wait for decades and, probably, centuries to get what i want.

- how real and how human is the main character, to the point of me being completely disappointed in him as a person and finally claiming him irredeemable, as it happens inevitably with a lot of human beings. it's a brilliant example of writing, seriously, and i think more writers should do that. we don't need idols and angelically kind protagonists we don't doubt. we need imperfections to think about. and you deliver. :)

Who knows, seems like scratch is special.
