WAaaAAHHhhh. I just finished playing all the boys DLC's and HOLY CRAP?! What a time????!!

I have soooooooooo many feelings (esp about episode Ignis which everyone in the tags of my other post was encouraging me to play) so I'm going to do a breakdown post for each of the boys' episodes but DANG. Here are some initial thoughts:

They absolutely did my man Gladio dirty with that episode?? I personally got a lot of mileage out of the amount of innuendos from it (daddy swinging his big column around anyone?) and I will not turn my nose up at any Gladio content but damn. Comparatively to how long and story rich the other 2 episodes were... could've done him so much better :'(

My sweet cinnamon boy Prompto's episode... When he fell off the train I was like oh, he'll be okay and then his episode came along and slapped the hell out of me for my naivety. Love getting all the different glimpses into his back story and I know he would've been living for the times Aranea climbed up behind him on that snowmobile. But oof, my little fragile heart and love for our baby boy

And ofc absolutely no competition for whose episode was the ABSOLUTE BEST. YO. YOOOOO. Ignis is the character who I connected with the least in the main game so I appreciated getting a chance to play from his perspective, using his sick as FUCK fighting skills, and experiencing his absolute unfailing love for Noct. And then that alternate ending absolutely sent me. That is the true ending in my mind, the one I want to live by, with and in. Cue me being a sobbing wreck at the end of it again.

FFXV has just been an absolute gift to me at the end of an otherwise shitty year and I just have so, so, so much love for it, for these boys, that I cannot even do it justice with words. It is just a powerful feeling that has absolutely seized my body, mind and soul in its grasp and I imagine will never let me go.

just realised something random: I've always been kinda sad that there isn't any media that my parents liked and shared with me, that sort of thing. I know of things that they like, of course, but it was never something they showed me or anything.

and I just realised that's because it was never something nice, something fun, something they wanted to share - no, they only ever brought up things that they liked as a way to say that everything I liked was bad.

Was considering buying (ridiculously overpriced) Sunny blu-rays to (very, very legally) rip them (for Personal Use archival purposes), decided to test on a blu-ray I already own, realized my external drive only reads DVDs, successfully ripped a DVD, but then was sent down a rabbit hole trying to see if I could use my (again, very, very legally) hacked PS3 to rip the .iso (I can) since it is indeed a blu-ray player with an attached PC-adjacent machine...

Long story short. If you see me spending $70 on seasons 1-5 on DVD and 6 on blu-ray, no you didn't, but also expect a 1080p season 6 bloopers upload in the near future.

bbc merlin drives me fucking insane actually. the way that lancelot moved around his entire life and spent every day feeling like he was living without purpose and then he found gwen and merlin and he had to leave them and he found them again and had to leave them again for their sakes and for his sake and then he found them again but he still never fit in or felt like a knight and when he finally found a purpose, sacrificing himself and subjecting himself to god knows what in the afterlife for arthur and merlin and fulfilling his promise to gwen, he doesn’t even get to rest before he’s brought back from the dead less than a year later and is forced by morgana to enchant gwen which goes against everything that the real lancelot stood for and sacrificed himself for and died for, and his honourable death is undone in the eyes of all of camelot because of it. he comes back to himself, his true self, at the end and gets the rightful burial he deserved in the first place, but merlin is the only one there and the only one who would’ve cared to go because of what morgana did to him and his memory in the eyes of all his friends. he died twice as alone as he lived and after what shade lancelot did he was no longer regarded as the hero that he was. i’m going to eat my curtains and the curtain rods btw
