Smiffina Episodes - Episode 352

After all this plotting and planning and digging and diving, it's such a shame that Gina isn't here for these last few episodes (and the next one!)

Laura tells Smithy that June is about to tell Okaro about TFG (The Fake Gabriel) and TRG (The Real Gabriel) being her son and being the gunshot victim from the live episode and he hurries to stop her.

Smithy promises her that he will get the evidence to nail TFG without her involvement becoming public, insisting that it is just a matter of days and that he will be gone and she will get to keep her dignity and her job. She agrees - but is struggling. As is Laura, she wants to tell Sheelagh who TFG is given that she's engaged to him. Smithy refuses, knowing it'll all come out before they get married. Smithy orders her not to tell Sheelagh anything until they have proof.

Smithy and June are looking into the people who claim they know TRG from his picture but most of them so far are not telling the truth. June says she should tell Adam but Smithy refuses because all they need is one genuine person and they have the proof. Smithy's telling June to act normal - but he's the one snapping at TFG when he enters the room!

Smithy hears from the office, TRG is improving and there's good signs that he might pull through, June is obviously relieved - and further bouyed to get TFG. Smithy updates TFG with the news too, telling Laura that anytime now he's going to give himself away.

Sheelagh tells Laura that Gabriel wants them to go away and get somewhere in the sun together. Instead of telling Smithy - Laura drags Sheelagh into an empty office and tells her what's going on. When will Smithy ever learn - everyone other than Gina he's told has told other people or spoken out about it!

Sheelagh goes home and searches the house for Gabriel's things, trying to find any signs of truth about what is going on. She finds a suitcase in the bottom of the wardrobe and goes through it - finding TRG's phone and wallet in it - just as Gabriel returns home and finds her doing it.

"would you really want to?" kalim murmurs quietly as you turn to look at him, and you realise he was pondering an answer the entire the enter time. "if you'll have me, my love."

"one mustn't say things like these so lightly," malleus rumbles gently next to your ear, seating comfortably on the creaking and beloathed sofa behind you. "but what if i'm being serious?" you answer in turn, not looking back to see his face (that you knew was flushed). "then... then if you wish for it, i will make sure that whenever you are ready, you will be safe." as bluey's voice continued to chatter excitedly on the screen, you turn and lean into malleus, bumping into his firm chest. "i know you will, sweetheart."

trey rests his head on your shoulder, humming at your promise (if he could consider it one). "you would make a wonderful parent," he starts, his hand intertwining with yours. "we could open a bakery, and you could get your degrees, or certificates, and become a teacher, or do a phd, whatever you like. and we can bake together and maybe watch the kids sneak snacks when it's way past their bedtime and let them think we're none the wiser." "and maybe have a cup of coffee after they sleep?" "of course, kids tire us old people a little too fast, hmm?"

"ehh shrimpy, you sure? the babies would bite too." floyd raises an eyebrow in disbelief as you turn to look at him. "and? their father is a biter too, i wouldn't really put it past them." floyd humphs, looking back at the episode on the television. "and you're 100% sure?" "of course i am," you start, taking his hand in yours and kissing his hand gently. "i want to start that chapter with you, no matter when or where."

(this is actually part of a much larger post i plan on making, with a loooot of background bullshit that nobody cares about, but this is just the dates :P please note that it took me a while to get the hang of this note taking thing so it’ll get more accurate as the seasons progress, feel free to fact check me)

(other thing to notes: I'm assuming that all of these dates are one after the other or even simultaneously, but according to wikis online, the timeline is much more stretched out, implying that there are other days we don't see.)

Will went missing on November 6th, 1983. There were search parties November 6th and 7th; on November 7th there was the big storm and it was called off.

Steve’s party was on a Tuesday . Steve broke Jonathan’s camera the next day, which was the day of the funeral, as well as the day Will was rescued .

[UPDATE: i missed a day in here, because Steve breaking the camera was a catalyst for Nancy seeing the photos, which led to Nancy and Jonathan going monster hunting, and they spent the night together before Will was rescued. Sorry for the goof!]

The time skip is implied to be late November/early December (okay honestly i don’t remember how i came to this conclusion, it’s just in my notes. I think the title card must’ve said “one month later” or something.)

^ this is when Hawkins lab gets raided by govt vehicles with Murray watching, as well as Hop getting El’s forged birth certificate. The Snow Ball is around this time as well.

Stat post time.

The poll with the most votes was Group P (the Death By Glamour one) with 794 votes, followed by Group W (735, Metal Crusher) and Group T (Spear of Justice vs Bergentrückung, 601).

With the least votes is Group C (275), beaten out by Group N (282) and Group L (318).

The average turnout in a poll was about 438 votes.

None of the Uwa! tracks qualified, with none of them getting over 10% of their group's vote. Temperate was the most popular.

Oh! One True Love and Oh! Dungeon were also both eliminated, though Dungeon scored much higher than One True Love.

Death Report qualified, with almost 4x the proportion of votes than Live Report.

In a great injustice, Can You Really Call This A Hotel, I Didn't Receive A Mint On My Pillow Or Anything was eliminated, but Hotel was not.

Spooktune was the only one of Napstablook's house songs that qualified.

The most dominating performance was by Death By Glamour, which was over 615 votes over any other track in its group (77.5%).

The closest race (other than the two ties) was between Reunited and Snowdin Town, by 0.6% (2 votes). However, both qualified.

The closest race that actually resulted in one track qualifying and one not was between the tie of Good Night and Oh My..., and Long Elevator, which was kicked out by 2.5% (9 votes).

Speaking of the ties, there were two within groups, and two in the Danger Zone across multiple groups.

The aforementioned Good Night and Oh My... both got 68 votes or 15.4%. In Group F, It's Raining Somewhere Else and SAVE The World both got 182 votes (32.2%), both winning their group.

Interestingly, two strange occurrences happened. Groups M and U both got 329 votes, and their third place tracks, Reunited and Hotel, both got 53 votes (16.1%). Similarly, Groups B and Q both got 352 votes, and their third place tracks Oh! One True Love and Respite both got 46 votes (13.1%).

The highest-placing tracks by percentage that did not qualify were Spookwave, which got 17.3% but came 4th in its group, and Oh! Dungeon, likewise with 16.2%.

The lowest-placing tracks by percentage which still qualified were For The Fans, which got 6.8% yet still came 2nd, and Menu (Full), the same with 11.8%.

Which brings us to the final results. Here is a post with all the tracks ordered by how many votes they got, and this is a post with them ordered by proportion of votes (also this has that same one, but split by position within the groups).

Kali + her crew kill that guy on October 28th 1984 - as displayed on the on screen text at the beginning of the episode

The next scene is of Dustin at his house, and the news on television says “A police chase rocked Downtown Pittsburgh earlier this evening” establishing that it is still the evening of October 28th

This means that the next day - which we cut to after Mike+Will go inside the arcade together - should be October 29th.

Except during that day…

When Hopper is investigating the poisoned pumpkins, Merril says to Hopper “This happening the day before Halloween when sales are peaking?”

When the boys are stalking Max, Dustin says to the group “And she shows up at school the day after someone with her same name breaks our top score?”

One implies it’s October 30th. One implies it’s October 29th. Neither of them answer the question.

Not until we get to the footage of Bob filming Joyce making popcorn - where the date reads October 30th. (Bob also says “this is the future” in this scene.)

So it must be October 30th, right? The next episode takes place on Halloween, which is always on the 31st. So it flows right

But what about Dustin’s line? Dustin, who was the character present when they established the October 28th evening at the beginning?

If it was October 29th, why are the boys wearing the same outfit for the entire day?

If this is a simple continuity error, why is there so much talk about Time in this specific episode? I’m typing this on my phone so I can’t get screenshots yet, but watch it and take note of every time a character talks about time. Seriously - there is a lot.

For example: Hopper and Ms. Holland both losing track of time and being late for dinner; “I was going to make that baked ziti you guys liked so much but I just… forgot about the time and before you know it. Oh my god it’s 5:00.”

Joyce saying to Will “I’m going to pick you up in 2 hours. That’s 9:00 on the dot.”

Mike saying “It’s day 352. 7:40 P.M”
