When I opened my eyes, there was a worried Ellis and the ceiling of my familiar room.

Ellis: "Victor is making soup with plenty of spinach in a hurry."

Kate: "These things at the bedside are...?"

Ellis: "The water is Liam. Harry is the candy. That is from......”

After Ellis carefully told me who each item is from, I raised my eyebrows a little apologetically.

Ellis: "I was so worried about you, I was in such a hurry and didn't prepare anything, so I ended up being by your side like this."

Kate: “So that's what happened. Sorry to worry you....”

(Ah…..)

As I stumble to raise my body from the bed, Ellis holds me in his arms.

Ellis: ".....Don't get up too fast.”

Kate: ".....Oh, I'm sorry."

Ellis: “No. Sleep again. Your job today is to get some rest."

I nodded and laid my body on the bed, and Ellis's hand gently touched my forehead.

Ellis: "I wonder if it's a little hot.... Shall I cool it down?

I hastily call out to Ellis, who is wetting and wringing out a towel that was by his side with water.

Kate: “I'm fine. It's just anemia.”

Ellis: "You always say you're fine."

Ellis: “And yet you are so caring and kind to everyone."

Ellis's words that flowed into my heavy head made me really happy.

Kate: "....Thank you very much, Ellis. But that's not true...."

Ellis: "The things placed by your bedside are proof of that."

Ellis: "That's why"

Ellis's hand places a cool towel on my forehead, avoiding my bangs.

Ellis: "I've always wanted to spoil you like this."

Ellis: “You work hard every day. Thank you."

Kate: "Ellis is spoiling me enough, isn't he?"

Ellis: “Oh… Is that so?”

Kate: "Yes, it is.”

Ellis: “If so, I'd like to spoil you even more. .....Can I?"

Perhaps it's because I'm weak, I want to lean on Ellis's kindness that melts me into a soggy mess.

Kate: "Well, if you don't mind my asking, could you get me a glass of water there?"

Ellis: "Yeah. I'll make you drink it by my mouth."

Kate: “…You can’t do that.”

Ellis: "Fufu, I'm sorry. I was just kidding."

After that, Ellis gave me a cup of soup that Victor had brought for me to drink.

The soup with plenty of spinach fills your mind and body softly.

(When my body warms up, I'm getting sleepy......)

Ellis: "...Are you sleepy? It's okay, go to sleep."

Ellis: "I'll stay by your side until you fall asleep."

Sitting on the bed, Ellis pats me on the blanket as if to soothe me.

It's like a gentle lullaby.

Ellis: ".....When I was still young, there was a child who stayed by my side like this when I couldn't sleep."

Ellis: "......We spent sleepless nights hugging each other and holding hands."

Ellis: “I think I sleep better when I know someone is there with me."

Ellis's voice melts into the soft twilight air.

It gave me an indescribable comfort, and even the contours of my consciousness melted into the air.

Ellis: “…Miss Kate?”

Ellis: "Are you asleep?"

Ellis: “………..”

Ellis: ".....The truth is, as soon as I heard you had fallen ill, I got you a blanket."

Ellis: "But I lied because I thought I could be by your side if I pretended not to have anything prepared."

Ellis: “I'm sorry I lied to you. Good night, Miss Kate.”

I had a deep, deep dream.

I couldn't get out of bed for some reason, but it's a dream that Ellis just spoils me.

Ellis: “It's okay, Miss Kate. .....I'm here for you."

Ellis: “I will spoil you, love you, and make you happy."

Smiling at me like that, his words filled my heart like a sweet poison.

Even after I woke up from my dream, I somehow wanted to see Ellis.

★ ꜛ ࣪ ˖ ❘❙❚ NCT STARS is a fictional unit of nct, consisting of their female members. in december 2013, smrookies announced BAEK SEOYEON and KOJIMA HARUWA as part of the pre-debut project. baek seoyeon debuted as a soloist is 2014 under the stage name YEONA. the soloist reached pretty decent success with her first single “MIRROR”. in 2015, HWANG JIMIN and KWON ISEUL made their smrookie debuts through mickey mouse clubhouse. additionally, WANG XINYU made her smrookies debut.

2016 saw the debut of NEO CULTURE TECHNOLOGY / NCT and after no activity for two years, yeona debuted with “THE SEVENTH SENSE” unit. she also went on to debut in NCT 127 with “FIRETRUCK”, and jimin, now GIGI and iseul debuted in NCT DREAM with “CHEWING GUM”. there was controversy however with the debut. after both the debuts of red velvet and nct, fans were left wondering where haruwa and xinyu would be debuting. however, haruwa was featured on “GOOD AT LOVE” with yeona, gigi and iseul. additionally, there was anger from her solo stans on yeona’s solo career being put on the back burner.

a year after nct 127’s initial debut, they released “LIMITLESS” which added three new members to the unit, johnny, doyoung and nct dream’s gigi. in 2018, during nct’s EMPATHY era, kun, ten and haruwa made their nct comebacks after being in previous singles. jungwoo and xinyu, now known as IVY made their debuts in “BOSS” and while jungwoo was put in nct 127 for the “REGULAR” era, ivy was being teased as part of the chinese unit, at the time allegedly called NCT VISION. along with the empathy era, sm surprised nctzens with an unofficial NCT STARS first single “HOT ISSUE” which had a lineup consisting of yeona, haruwa, ivy, gigi and iseul. in july, their first mini album “TALK THAT TALK” debuted. this was the first time sm officially addressed the unit as an official promoting unit and announced positions. notably naming yeona as the leader. at the same time four new smrookies were being teased, hendery, xiaojun, HSU JIAYIN and yangyang. at the end of 2018, mark and gigi graduated from nct dream and were to promote solely in 127 and in gigi’s case nct stars.

in 2019, ivy and jiayin debut in january as part of wayv, and a few months later the ladder made her stars debut in “OH MY GOD”. and at in june 2019, yeona was announced to be going on haitus for all activities. nct 127 saw jungwoo also go on hiatus and although he came back for their 2020 “KICK IT” era, yeona missed it and shortly had a solo comeback with her mini album “BECOMING YEONA”. her 127 comeback was “PUNCH” and in august the girl’s unit cameback with their third mini album “NXDE”, which featured the voice of gigi but not herself as she had been on hiatus since april of that year after a scandal broke out over her reaction on vlive with haechan and jungwoo on returning to nct dream. gigi stayed on hiatus through nct’s RESONANCE era ( which saw the debut of sungchan, shotaro and ARAI IZUMI ) although her voice featured most of the tracks, and made her nct dream comeback with mark on the album, she did not feature in any promotions until “LOVEHOLIC” for 127 and “HOT SAUCE” for dream. stars released their first full length album “ANTIFRAGILE” in july which was izumi’s debut as part of a unit. since the UNIVERSE era, the girls have had two comebacks, in july 2022 “SHUTDOWN”, their fourth mini album and in january 2023, “I AM”. as of right now it is rumoured that smrookie, MOON YESOL will eventually be added to the lineup.

my very swag ranking of each 127 era based on general styling/concept (ignoring the music for a sec lawl)

14. 2 bitches i mean baddies: sorry this one i generally dislike. abs do nothing for me. i like taeils hair and they did have some crazy cool fashion in the mv tho

13. limitless: insane cultural appropriation happening here, kind of an abomination but i didn’t put it last cause some of the fits were actually so fun (doyoung and the glasses and that massive hat) and johnny looked good

12. favorite: wtf. they should have gone way more vampire??!?! catharsis version had some sick fits but also the music video had some of the worst outfits ive ever seen in my life. sorry

11. awaken: literally all i can think of is johnny’s wakey wakey hair. the rest of it was fine tho they looked good

10. loveholic: kinda boring kinda swag :) fuck suits always but i liked the rain pics and haechan’s hair

9. simon says: COOL OUTFITS and the masks were so sick. not nearly insane enough to be higher tho

8. regular huh: not the most interesting concept ever but one of the funniest. maybe. also i love taeyong and taeil’s hair in this era like i think this is my favorite taeyong look of all time

6. firetruck: i know 127 hates this one but i for one am a huge fan of the insane fucking outfits. marks hair is an abomination but everything else is so beautiful. and taeil looked incredible

5. punch: THE FAKE TATTOOS! AND FISHNETS! doyoung <3

3. superhuman: i fucking love the like. insane graphic sweatshirts/pants they had on for the mv and album, i wish i owned all of those. and jungwoo’s weird bowl cut/haechans grey hair were both wins

2. cherry bomb: SUCH a fucking cool concept. and the outfits are incredible whoever was in charge of fashion in this era is a genius. i love ittt and i love the whole pixel art cherry bomb thing they had going on it was SO COOL

1. neo zone: legendary. literally nobody looks bad. yutas hair is awesome. the whole vintage leather jacket/bomber jacket thing was epic and also the music video style and outfits was also really cool. so sexy. wtf!

hi! thanks for asking! <3

✦ my first bias: technically, probably mark because he was the first nct member i learned about, but it quickly became taeyong after i actually started getting into nct, and taeyong was my bias for the first three or so months of being an nctzen!

✦ my current bias(es): haechan! he is my ult, i love him so very much. probably slightly too parasocially attached to him but i'm not going to worry about it lol...

✦ my album and/or era ranking (or favorite of each): 127 has so many albums, and i decided to write my reasoning behind each one...bear with me... from favorite to least favorite:

Cherry Bomb: this is a masterpiece of an album. Cherry Bomb is SUCH a good song, the music video has that artistic scrappy Neo identity, the styling is so cool in my opinion, and the album is full of great songs. When i think of nct 127 this the era i think of.

We Are Superhuman: okay, i just personally love this album. Superhuman was what made me an nctzen. I feel so fond of it, it's my baby. Superhuman and Highway to Heaven are such feel-good songs! And I love the concept/styling/photobook.

Limitless: Limitless is a song that's really grown on me recently. The "Rough vers. MV" was truly ahead of its time. The styling was... questionable lol. Poor haechan's hair! But this album also gave me Back 2 U, which is maybe the best 127 b-side ever.

Regulate (Simon Says): I love Simon Says, it was another early favorite of mine in my baby nctzen days. The styling for this mv was immaculate, I still dream about yuta's grey plaid skirt thing and the vans shoelaces tied around the ankles.

Loveholic (Gimme Gimme): Maybe it's because I got into nct in this era, but loveholic is really special to me. The concepts for the photobook really speak to me (especially the rain one, but i also find the bright green and orange color scheme of the album cover sooo satisfying) and 'right now', the last song on the album, is my ultimate favorite 127 b-side, i almost feel a little possessive over it >.< the gimme gimme mv was a little lacking but i like the song itself!

Chain: the chain music video!! omg. Also the b-sides dreaming and 100 are such hidden gems. I also really vibed with the styling (shout out to the stylists for giving taeil that sexy haircut lol). 127's japanese releases hit different for me.

Neo Zone: I mean... neo zone is iconic. i feel like i should love it more than i do? kick it is a banger, the mv is soooo well executed, i love mullet hyuck and mark's stripey hair, i love the concept and outfits, and the photobook is crammed full of really cute photos... but there's something about it that i don't feel as nostalgic or lovey about compared to the albums i ranked above it. i think most of the b-sides feel slightly bland to me? and sometimes i feel like neo zone was a little too perfected, like it lacks some of that original 127 crunchy absurdity.

Neo Zone: The Final Round (Punch): I actually am fond of Punch, she's underrated imo. there's something about that song that i find really satisfying. the styling isn't anything to write home about, but it works well in the context of the concept.

Regular-Irregular: Confession...I don't really like Regular *winces*. i'm too anti-capitalist for it lol! but that said, the music video is delicious. And the song itself is really catchy... if i look past the lyrics. although... maybe the lyrics are supposed to provide a negative commentary on our money-obsessed culture?? are they that deep?? i'll have to think about this...

Sticker: When this album came out i remember liking it a lot. But as time has gone on, it's gotten more boring for me. The song and music video weren't bad objectively, but i feel like it marked a significant shift in 127's artistic voice, a change i didn't really want... although shout out to the seoul city version of the photobook, which i still think is gorgeoussssss

Awaken: I cannot get through Wakey-wakey. it is SO grating to my years lol. however! i am obsessed with ‘end-to-start’, the outro song of the album. i get chills every time mark says “the origin will begin”. i’m also giving it bonus points because i like the way haechan was styled :P

2 Baddies: The biggest reason why this album is so low is that i really don’t like most of the songs on the album. For the title track, the song and mv aren’t terrible. i like that it’s playful, i really enjoy jaehyun’s rap, and the styling is really cool! but... idk, there’s just something about the whole thing that makes me disappointed, like i feel like it had potential to be better.

Favorite: oh lord... its only saving graces for me are: the catharsis photoshoot, the cool forest set that taeyong and mark rap in in the mv, haechan singing ‘your love, your love’ in the outro, and love on the floor being one of my top guilty pleasure songs. The rest was just not it for me.

Fire Truck: hey, i guess ranking their debut album last means they’ve come a long ways?? I don’t really care for any of the songs on this album. the fire truck music video was... interesting... i do love the styling (i might be the only one who does, but i actually sincerely do!), and i like the choreography, but that’s about it.

✦ how i got into them: at the time i was really into shinee, and i remember watching this mashup and i was blown away by superhuman, and that was the beginning! but i didn’t quite consider myself an nctzen then. i think a month or so later when i was leaving for an internship and i was really anxious, i started listening to all the 127 title tracks to help me feel strong and tough and i think that’s when i really formed an emotional connection to 127 itself and got to know the members better.

✦ which member would be my best friend: oh god, this is hard because i’d want to be friends with all of them! i think personality-wise, i’d probably get along the best with taeyong. i see a lot of myself in him.

✦ something i associate with them (or with a bias/any member): with 127 as a group: neon colors, leather fingerless gloves, messy hair, science fiction. with taeyong: fish, furiously scribbling in a notebook, the subway/metro. with haechan: falling asleep with your head on someone’s shoulder, scuffed favorite sneakers, lambs and baby goats, the concepts of soulmates and fate, the golden hour.
