The way she must have been so scared because she had only ever heard from her father how humans treat mermaids and seen how they treat fish. Then she just up an sprouts her tail in front of a court full of humans. And Eric doesn’t quite know what’s going on but he can see she’s in danger and then he looks down at her and sees how scared she is and the most important thing is holding her close so that Ariel knows she’s safe with him I’m so sorry I’m done now.

Do you ever think about how Eric was adamant about chasing after Scuttle when she took his hat BECAUSE Ariel gave him that hat? He could've let it go and laugh it off but no because that's the hat his beautiful and compelling companion picked for him. He even made sure to pick it out of the water when their boat flipped. Add to that the fact that Eric is a collector of valuable things and this hat is the most valuable of them all.

I keep thinking about their first meeting, and the impact Ariel had on this man. The film really emphasized her siren powers. Like molten metal her song filled his lungs, heart and soul. And her voice, her touch, her being would forever be sealed inside him. Locked away. Prince Eric so desperately wants to find this mystery woman, to the point of almost going mad. And here, Ariel, the woman he’s been searching the whole surface world for, sits before him. A part of him so desperately wants it to be her. When she touches him, he becomes so serious. Shocked. Jonah captures his yearning exquisitely with his expressions. Every fiber of Eric’s being lights on fire with her single small caress. Something about it so familiar. He would know. Her very being has been seared into every cell of his. Everything else in that moment ceases to matter… because for a split momentary second… he finally found her.

I’m gonna be honest, and I hope I don’t get hate, but if they did a live action The Little Mermaid sequel, I wouldn’t want it to be a retelling of TLM 2. I wouldn’t want it to be Melody’s story.

I very selfishly want it to be purely Ariel and Eric having an adventure together before they have to be king and queen and have a family. I want to see them in the prime of their relationship, battling some evil forces together, and honestly I want some merman Jonah Hauer-King.

And an epic duet.

I said what I said, I just want pure Ariel/Eric against the world from start to finish.
