the helmet is wrinkled?! erik doesn’t own an iron i guess :/
at that point he had been in prison for ten years so i believe he owned 0 household appliances :/ however since he controls metal i think he could also temporarily flatten the helmet into like a sheet and get the wrinkles out that way

I wish you would write a fic where Erik's a detective and Charles is a professor/expert/telepath on contract for the department assisting on extremely complicated cases and they fall into each other's arms eventually. Your writing style would be perfect for that au! #Love your writing by the way! 😬
Thank you!! I love this idea so much!!! (and you flatter me 😳 I barely ever write)
.
Erik watched into the interrogation room as the witness finished signing the agreement to have her mind read. Across her, Charles sat with a kind smile, apparently completely confortable even though he was wearing that horrible contraption that was the suppressor. He felt a twinge of uneasiness as officer McTaggert entered and with her fingerprint unlocked the suppressor. Erik knew perfectly well that a mere glass wouldn’t stop Charles’ power. He could be in Erik’s mind right in this moment, prying away all his secrets and weaknesses. This thought was immediately followed by disgust at himself. How could he think of a fellow mutant the same as the baselines? He had seen the humans recoil from Charles and refuse to be in the same room even though he was wearing the damn suppressor. Erik gritted his teeth. He had to do something to get over his fear, no, not fear, Erik never feared, his,  discomfort with telepaths. After all, it seemed like he was going to work long term with one.
Charles massaged his neck and scalp before turning to Moira and nodding for her to put on the bloody helmet back on. He hated the thing. He wish he could use his own small and discreet suppressor, but the whole idea of wearing it was for it to be visible: ‘Do not worry, I’m not dangerous’. Charles snorted. As if anyone who hated telepaths would stop hating them if they wore suppressors. It only made him a clear target for their hatred and fear, but at least no one could accuse him of illegally reading their mind. To make matters worst, his partner didn’t seem to care about him an iota, and regarded him with disgust at best. He wished he could quit, but this was the fastest way to find Raven, and maybe at the same time, unravel what had happened to his father. That’s why he was completely taken by surprise when that said partner invited him to have something after work.
“I won’t be wearing suppressors,” Charles said slowly, as if explaining to a child.“I know,” said Lehnsherr, his face as impassive as always.Charles squinted, trying to figure out if this was some kind of joke.“Sure,” he finally answered, dragging the word to show his uncertainty. “Excellent, see you at six.”And with that, he turned and left to his office.

one might assume that after the first attempt of teleportation went rather awry that he might not attempt it again and yet, here he has found himself, caught in a world that he does not quite understand which certainly reviles his kind. all over has he seen the posters of mutants wanted on the run and no whispers of the x-men have reached ears so keen to listen. yet, youth behold to a countenance unrecognized provides him a measure of anonymity; humanity expects an aged, battle-worn survivor, not a younger man.
whispers of an underground assisting mutants on the run has reached his ears, though all too well does erik realize that simply approaching them brazenly will spook them into hiding. for weeks now he has been tracking mutants to and fro across the southern united states. now, two months since he landed here, confused and rather weak thanks to the amount of energy exerted in the process of accidentally teleporting himself across time and space, erik has found himself softly stalking through the streets of atlanta, georgia.
had he ever thought to find himself in a future where phones sang of electricity and where something called "google" is mentioned often.
the ringing sound of sirens scream themselves into life without any warning only a few streets away, the noise horrendous and terrible. wariness at once leaps to tauten musculature, drawing sinews up. with a steady gait, he moves towards the noise of them and hears the noise of panicked shouting. and then he feels it - magnetic field shifting and rippling, responding to something that is definitely not his own powers
impossible, magneto thinks, oculi narrowing faintly.
the sight of panicked youngsters, none of them older than mid-twenties if that, fleeing from sentinel services rakes vexation and fury into his form. rage boils up even as he watches one of them shoot blazing golden light from his fingers. a woman trips and falls and that is when erik makes the decision to intervene.
the steel beam lands so firmly into the ground that it trembles the entire street; sparks are thrown up violently when a second beam lands, forming a great X between the mutants and the sentinel services. several of them cast startled glances to one another and the young man who had been shooting light from his hand runs to try and help the girl who had fallen.
gravel crunches softly underfoot as he lands before the huge steel beams, expression terrible and cruel. though he wears nothing of armor nor the iconic helmet, can there be any question as to whom stands before them?
"run," magneto orders, even as he readies himself for a fight against sentinel services. so much for a low profile.

The corner of his mouth twitched ever so slightly, hands clenched into tight fists. Despite the rage that pulsed through his veins, he managed to remain composed and collected. He knew exactly what grey face was trying to do, and surely, Erik wasn’t going to let such obnoxious wisecrack get to him. They want him to take the bait. No. He would not give them that satisfaction. Maturity and sound temperament were the only possible options in this matter.            ❝ Fuck you. ❞  He’d kill them on the spot if he could.
