Finished watching If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die and then proceeded to spend the rest of the day catching up on the manga.

Idol anime usually aren't my thing but Eripiyo is such a magnificent trash tornado of a protag that I just ended up watching all of it.

I honestly adored the otaku trio in general so much. They just hit the most perfect vibe of "best friends being completely and utterly deranged over their shared interest" that just makes them a joy to watch (granted... 90% of the derangement comes from Eripiyo herself...)

Overall a very cozy idol series that does a nice job switching between both the idol and idol fan perspectives with a protag who is just fun to watch be extra every chance she gets.

(I totally get Maina falling for this deranged woman)

oshibudo jdrama is so fucking funny because it’s essentially two entirely different shows in one

on the eripiyo/otaku gang side it’s a slapstick comedy

on the maina/cham jam side it’s a lesbian drama

and sometimes the two meet and mingle for a quick second and you will think they finally get to hold hands. but then something comes in between. and keeps you on the edge just long enough that it hits you

A girl is obsessed with her favorite idol, a minor member of a less popular group, enough that she says she’d die to see her play at Budoukan.

Read through Chapter 13.

Very cute art and very cute story, it just feels a little repetitive sometimes (or maybe I just was reading it when I was already tired, lol). Wouldn't mind finishing it some day. It feels like yuri? Between Eripiyo, the main character, and Maina, her idol favorite. I doubt it is, but I hope it is... that would be fantastic and would make me pick the series back up faster.

Now that I've seen the extremely delightful credits scene for episode 2 of Handyman Saitou, I see that Ai Fairouz is voicing Raelza! She's great! She was fabulous as Eripiyo in If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die! Now I have even more reason to keep watching Handyman Saitou!
