La instalación conjunta se fundamenta en una relectura conceptual de la obra cinematográfica de Luis Buñuel, llevada a cabo por Andrés Cuesta, María Esplugues, Emma García, Laura Salvador y Blanca Serrano.

La propuesta se centra en el análisis del concepto de la violencia del eros y su potencial derivación hacia el tánatos. Partiendo de las escenas que involucran pelucas con forma de cruz y su asociación con la vulva, así como el simbolismo del lodo, la suciedad y la corrupción, y la representación de una fiesta o reunión de hombres burgueses donde las mujeres son tratadas como meros objetos de entretenimiento, se optó por invertir este último punto.

Se transforma la escena en un rastro de acción protagonizado por la víscera femenina, que busca de manera tóxica seducir al hombre. La propuesta incluye la generación de una explosión olfativa, mediante la combinación de diversos elementos que despiertan las feromonas concebidos como una poción de amor. Este compuesto, al mezclarse, produce un aroma más repulsivo que agradable, corrompiendo la esencia del olor a través del exceso.

Adicionalmente, se recurre a una imaginería de asquerosidad sexual, pervirtiendo las estructuras inicialmente concebidas como blancas y puras. Este proceso transforma la pureza en suciedad y repugnancia, eliminando el factor eros del acto sexual como generador de nueva vida y convirtiéndolo en una materia asociada a la muerte.

This group installation is based on a conceptual reinterpretation of Luis Buñuel's film by Andrés Cuesta, María Esplugues, Emma García, Laura Salvador, and Blanca Serrano. The proposal revolves around the analysis of the concept of the violence of eros and its potential derivation towards thanatos.

Starting from scenes involving wigs shaped like crosses and their association with the vulva, as well as the symbolism of mud, filth, and corruption, and the depiction of a party or gathering of bourgeois men where women are treated as mere entertainment, the decision was made to reverse the latter point. The scene is transformed into a trail of action led by the female viscera, seeking to trap the man.

The proposal includes the creation of an olfactory explosion by combining various elements, conceived as a love potion. This mixture, when blended, produces a scent more repulsive than pleasant, corrupting the essence of the odor through excess.

Additionally, there is a utilization of imagery depicting sexual disgust, perverting structures initially conceived as white and pure. This process transforms purity into dirt and disgust, eliminating the eros factor of the sexual act as a generator of new life and turning it into a substance associated with death.

I wouldn't say I have a favourite ship... well there're times that I would invest more in a specific pairing, but that doesn't mean I like other ships any less. I have 5 drafts for Jasico and then I have a Nicobaster week and then a Percico-marathon. Generally speaking though, I would say I usually... prioritize (?) the rarepairs. Since you know, the canon one and the more popular ones alr have people building the empire for them. I might be the only one invested in a Son of Persephone with Nico, for example, so I tend to gravitate towards it, in hopes of contributing a small brick for this little tent compared to their nation; or sometimes it's just because there's someone else more invested in me and their dedication fuels me (yes you @drksanctuary).

Anw I hope this gives you an insight into how wild of a being I am LMAO. I'm a proshipper. I have no qualms when it comes to enjoying fiction - as long as I enjoy it. Be free. Trust me.

something that really irks me abt this chapter (besides everything lmao) is how hades is suddenly expressing his feelings with poseidon and having this random heart to heart when canonically hades shows nothing but disdain and annoyance towards his family

for all that he goes on and on about how lonely he is and how much he resents being "stuck" in the underworld, hades shows nothing but contempt towards his family at every possible moment. the only semi-positive interactions hades has with poseidon specifically are 1) when he tells persephone that the two brothers could commiserate on being consumed by kronos / how overwhelming it was to be released into a bright world, 2) when he ties poseidon's tie right before persephone's trial (and that has a big asterisk next to it because the whole time he's snipping at apollo and zeus) and 3) after zeus sends out the press release against demeter and persephone, and hades and poseidon are both aggrieved at zeus acting alone (and again, big asterisk next to that because the majority of hades' interactions are annoyance / rage at persephone being "maligned")

like over and over, hades goes out of his way to AVOID his family, so for him to suddenly be sitting in his car sharing his feelings with poseidon? he barely has a RELATIONSHIP with poseidon. his brother's have gone out of their way to show hades love over and over, and hades has never reciprocated. it feels like a cheap way to reinforce some kind of "family bonding" theme, since we see demeter and persephone having their heart to heart; canonically speaking, the only people hades has ever "confided" in are hera, persephone, and hecate - and arguably speaking, two of those are people hades' trauma dumps on. like what is the point.
