The Shepards were worried about their eldest daughter’s involvement with Hal Capp for some time now. When I switched to the Capp household, all was well: Demeter wasn’t in Hal’s wants at all.
However, Ariel Capp wanted to befriend Eurynome and invited her along with the whole family for a sunday. Eryn sure was exited! Even reaching the Capp residence took what felt like a day’s hike and the artful park looked so different from the meadows she had grown up at. And there were tombstones! Would the ghosts really come out to prey on the living if lightning struck their stones, as the old people claimed? And what would it look like inside the mansion? Would the Capp have a TV? In color perhaps?
Shepard looks down at the body they woke with, the body he's only ever felt in his heart, never seen in the mirror. He asks Miranda softly, "But... the Illusive Man said to bring me back as I was."
Miranda smiles, her tone gentle yet serious. "And I did."
May I please have N7 Helmet for your Shepards? Please and thank you!

N7 helmet - Why did the character choose their current career (and class)? Do they believe it’s the right occupation for them?
Eryn Shepard - Vanguard
Eryn's a Spacer kid. Never knew his dad (and buddy do I have headcanons for that heh heh heh) and his mother was rarely around due to her own career.
This, Eryn grew up in the life, hopping from ship to ship, surrounded by Alliance. Didn't even consider other options, honestly. Enlistment just seemed the natural next step forward. A way to serve, sure, and yeah maybe there was comfort in the familiar.
The Alliance became Eryn's family, a beacon of light in a fairly lonely childhood as well as humanity's vanguard in the galaxy.
That's why Eryn chose Vanguard training; he's never been one to sit back and watch the action. He wanted to be front and center, leading a team into the fray, distracting and disrupting the enemy while his comrades controlled the crowd and picked off stragglers.
A little enthusiastic at times, but never careless, and he never ran in without taking a full assessment of the field and giving direction to his squad. The safety of those under his command, along with any innocents caught in the middle, was always his top priority.
When Eryn was recruited into ICT the decision was a no-brainer, much to Hackett's approval (they have history). A born leader and career soldier at heart with the combat skills and strategic mind to prove it, plus a powerful biotic - it was the perfect fit.
Jules Shepard - Vanguard
As an Earther, Jules was a street kid. Never knew his parents, abandoned not long after birth. Likely from fear of later complications due to his in-utero eezo exposure, or maybe that's just what he told himself to justify it.
He did what he could to survive, adapt. Hid his biotics as best he could, honed his body and mind. Whether that meant becoming an instrument of pleasure or violence just depended on the person in front of him at the moment. As he neared his eighteenth year, though, he began to wonder if there was more out there for him.
He wanted to get away from Earth, see the galaxy, put his past behind him. A chance run-in with one David Anderson gave him the final push he needed to take that step and he never looked back - though he did complain from time to time as he's not exactly fond of authority. (I delve into this more in my one-shot Diamond in the Rough.)
He's a bit of a risk-taker, thinks quickly on his feet, and has the capability to make autonomous decisions as well as delegate responsibilities. His superiors saw that potential early on and (along with Anderson's recommendation) fast-tracked him through ICT. Jules started out a hot-head; impatient, ambitious, impulsive, and dangerous. It took time, training, experience, and learning to trust in his comrades to shape him into the leader he is today.
Someone asked me "all the questions" for Jules Shepard (which will take me a while, and probably on pc instead of mobile lmao) soooo I guess that means it's between the others!
But I can never play favs. Because they are my babies, and just like with my kids, I'm always fair. Much to their chagrin haha
So without much more ado...

Medigel - How does the character react when someone asks them for help? How do they feel about asking other people for help?
Eryn Shepard
They're very responsible, to Eryn's own annoyance and/or detriment. Rescuing cats from trees, just another day for the Savior of the Galaxy right? 🙃
They'll. Make. The. Time. 😬
Maybe it's a Navy brat thing. Grew up in the life, duty first, self later and only in private. Ever the professional.
As for asking... if it's for the mission, asking is easier. 100% uses the "for once I wish I could ask someone for help and they'd say 'Sure! Let's go, no strings attached,'" line. Personal, though? Haha, what help, they're fine, nothing to see here. Pretty much takes a sledgehammer to break down that wall. Luckily, their crew, and Kaidan, never buy that.
Some luck huh? 💙
Vincent Ryder
If ever there was an idealistic, heart-on-their-sleeve hero, it's Vincent. He's young, can ya blame him? The world is an oyster or... something. Idk. I'm nowhere near as friendly (side-eyes friends ready to counter that). ANYWHO-
Looks grumpy - resting bitchface, it's a legit problem ok - is actually soft as Egyptian cotton. 🥺 Deeply believes that people are inherently good. Wants to help everyone. Thinks the universe is his burden to bear. Sometimes, that's a bit much, yeah?
That's when their crew comes in. And he will ask for help, he's sorta gotta be a diplomat after all. But there's still a lot beneath the surface he deflects with humor and charm, and only one person can ever reach that buried treasure. Perhaps a devilish smuggler with charm to match his own? Opposites, as they say. 😘
Tagged by the awesome @elffyness for the WIP Wednesday! I was also heavily inspired by her fic The Streets Don’t Rest In Denerim to start something set in a modern au for my DA girls. Below is my Eryn Amell and her boyfriend Nathaniel Howe taking a stroll in the park with their pup Dane! Who is German Shepard btw :)
“We should have plants. Lots of them everywhere. I think it’ll make our place inviting.” Eryn could already picture dozens of brightly painted pots and multiple hanging plants that would adorn their apartment and maybe even a fig tree in one corner of the living room.
“Are we going to have people over all the time?”
“No, but I want to impress whoever comes over. It’s our first home together and I want it to look amazing!”
Nathaniel still wasn’t convinced and he looked away, wondering how they would have any room to move around with as many plants as he imagined she wanted. Eryn noticed his creased brows and concentrated look so she bumped her hip into his to get him to look back at her. When he did she pouted and gave him her biggest puppy dog eyes, the ones she knew he couldn’t resist. With a good natured sigh he nodded and Eryn hugged him tightly causing them both to stagger on the sidewalk.
“Our apartment will start to look like this park after you’re done decorating.”
“I know! Isn’t it great? Well, without all the squirrels.” Eryn gestured at the treeline and noticed Dane stood unmoving a step ahead of them. He was staring intently at a squirrel eating on top of a nearby bench. He knew better than to pull on his harness to run after it, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t watch and dream of chasing it.
“No boy, small animals are friends not prey.” She went to tug on his leash to lead him away but Nathaniel touched her arm stopping her.
“Wait, he’s in a good position. Let me take his picture.” He squatted down and moved to take a profile picture of Dane ready to spring forth at a moment’s notice.
“You should hurry, I think we’re torturing him,” giggled Eryn.
“Just one… more.” Nathaniel then stood directly in front of Dane to get a close up of his face and block the squirrel from view. With his attention diverted elsewhere Dane smiled widely at Nathaniel, almost knowing he was having his picture taken.
“Perfect! I’ve captured the most magnificent dog in the park.” Nathaniel quickly raised his camera to take a shot of Eryn’s loving gaze she had on as she looked at both him and Dane.
“Now I have one more photo of the most beautiful, intelligent, funny, and amazing woman in all of Thedas.” He grinned and felt warmth spread through his chest at the sound of her laughter and the wide smile on her face. She grabbed his hand and pulled Nathaniel to her, perhaps a little too strongly but he didn’t mind. They stood close with their eyes locked onto each other forgetting everyone else around them.
