Can’t remember if I posted any of these or not, but I finished my kittenbee VRChat avatar! Bit of fanart for Eskiworks, as it’s their character. There’s a few scrunkles here and there, but overall I feel it’s my best model to date. Learned a handful of things as well, - like how to make combo gestures, how to add an audio contact trigger (headpat purring) and how to add a custom sit animation. It has a toggleable wing flutter idle as well. Oh, and multiple texture toggles!

My expression controller is a bit of a spiderweb, but it makes sense to me. XD In the future I’d split it up more, but I was just winging it at this point so no reason to re-build it for redundant efficiency.

A small Birthday gift for Eskiworks! Her Cat and Dragon personas, Fern and Leaflet! (Her birthday was like two weeks ago, but I’m only posting here now, because my main computer was down at the time and it took a while to get it fixed)

Truth be told, I drew this last year. It was my intention to finish this as a watercolor piece, but I was never happy with the result. So I shelved it thinking I'd come back to it, but didn't, because life. But I still like it, so I updated Fern's markings & spruced it up bit.

I'm also doing some experimentation with watermarks.

A Pel'Dimali and Khu'Dimali surprise encounter!

Got in the mood to draw some flying critters, and the coolest flying critters are the alecani by @eskiworks ! Are they strangers? Old friends? Are they going to fight or hug? I'm hoping that they're huggers :)

Here we have one alecani from the plains region and one from the canyon region, respectively, they are of the same species but with different regional colour morphs! Alecani range in size, colour, and structure, according to their local environmental pressures.

Y'all should go check out the TeaFeathers blog @tea-feathers, this world is really cool and there are tonnes more fantasy races than just the alecani!

holy hell I think it's done? I don't normally do much fanart but my brother and I wanted to understand why all the tumblr girlies are so obsessed with these day old men so we binged this show which immediately grabbed me by the throat and hurled me into the gay old men fervor and wouldn't let me do anything else until I finished some kind of tribute ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

okay so I know you have to be kinda careful about making someone's face all black... but I usually dislike clearly human halves on most monster designs, and red wouldn't work either, so I just kind of tried to lighten it closer to the orangey scales on his snake face and hope it worked out?

you can see the other design ideas I had for naga!crowley in the thumbnail sketch but it diverged enough that actually I'm gonna probably just keep that as a separate design for perhaps a future character, like a tiefling/salamander npc for the next campaign perhaps 🤔

this one took a lot longer than usual due to trying to actually somewhat accurately capture an existing person's face, trying to put more effort into detailing the scales, and a style of hair I don't draw as often haha. wahoo @ being able to rather fittingly apply my monsterpeople habits to some fanart for once :)

I immediately threw together a playlist for them that I keep listening to on repeat and "til kingdom come" is the last song on there, which has been giving me blorbo heart hurty for over a decade now

genuinely felt a tangible kind of relief like 'ahhhh...' when I finished the lines cause this art was all-consuming til I let it out 8') I really really wanna keep drawing these two but feel like a week or two is all I can reasonably take away from commissions at the moment... but if I can power through another real quick maybe I'll allow myself some smorching doodles heehee

Seeing as Twitter maybe imploding, a reintroduction!

I'm Archantael, otherwise known as phoenixtheblade on Twitter; I'm a trans-nonbinary furry fantasy author and streamer (pangolinfox on Twitch). I have three novels currently available through @inspiredquill and a fourth one coming out sometime in the maybe not so distant future? I haven't been on Tumblr with any regularity for a long time but I hope to get back into the swing of it as things happen. Mostly I talk about writing, gender issues, mental health, and do so on stream while I play too!

These are the first public avatars I made, and second overall avatar I created. I use a personalised one of these as my main avi atm. They do have a scrunkly Quest compatible fallback as well. They have MMD visemes as well, but due to the way their faces are made it can be a bit cronchy at times. (95% ok I'd say)

I want to remake these in the near future, once I learn a few more things, but they are still very special to me.

My second public avatar, and free editable base. Again, with a scrunkly Quest fallback attached. I also made an Ookami inspired edit, - which is PC only because there was no way I could make the fluffs and reflector work within the Quest restrictions. Kittenbee:

My most recent public model, based on the Kittenbee by Eskiworks. First avatar to have a custom sit animation as well as a custom combo gesture controller for expressions. I actually retro-fitted the other avatars with similar (but less complex) combo gesture controllers after I figured the KB one out. It also has a decent Quest fallback, although I had to sacrifice some colliders and physbone components for the good rating. MMD visemes again, because ofc!

Overall I'm very proud of these, I've put a lot of work and love into them, and countless hours of headdesking my way through learning curves.
