Idk who needs some twilight inspo buuuutttt I got sum..
Ight so an old ass y/n right? As old as the volturi maybe. And maybe she's pursued by the volturi because of her gift. Her gift being the ability to manipulate memories. Like changing it, erasing it, or so on. But she's introduced to the Cullen's first when her friend jasper (or Rosalie or Emmett) reach out for her help during the battle cuz of Rennesme. Her ability works similar to Jane's. All she has to do is look at them before she can make em get lost in a flashback or forget something like the reason for the battle. When her powers are in use, her mentality is protected. So she is safe from mental touch. OR something like that ..IF ANYONE USES THIS INSPO, PLZ TAG ME I WANNA READ!!!

what did you do ? • Emmett cullen
Emmett cullen! x Reader!fem.
not my gif.
warnings: language.
summary: i hate doing these js read to find out 🤎
Tumblr media
paul and i started dating about a year after Emmett and the rest of the cullens left town, i missed Emmett i’d have to admit, but i tried and failed at convincing him to stay for me, but i clearly failed.
the cullens had came back a little over a few weeks ago, i was currently on my way home from skating, but it started raining. rain. one thing i hate about skating, it ruins boards.
“you’ve been ignoring me” i heard a very familiar voice coking from the living room, as i walked into the house.
“no i’ve been mysteriously keeping my space” i said as the tall, buff, and beautiful, pale man stood up, i leaned back again the wall looking up at the ceiling.
“why won’t you look at me ?” he asked softly, i heard his footsteps getting closer to me, that’s when i felt the frozen skins of his fingertips on my elbows, i tried to look everywhere but at him.
“i can’t.” i said bluntly, trying to remove myself from this situation.
“yn, please” he tried to grab my jaw, trying to force me to look at him, we were together for centuries, i kinda just got used to the feeling of his cold hands on me, but after this time without his hands and paul’s warm hands instead, had my feelings everywhere.
“emmett you left me, i was over it, i found someone new, and now you show up here !? after all this time, no call, no letter, no explanation ! and now you just want me to act like it’s fine !? it’s not Emmett, it’s not fine !” i shouted at him, he stepped back acknowledging what he had done.
“look i know and i’m sorry, i am so so so sorry, but i didn’t have a choice !” he tried to explain himself, but honestly i didn’t want to here it, not right now anyway, i’m going to paul’s tonight.
“you need to leave, i have places to be and people to see” i told him, pushing him towards the door.
“you mean paul ?” he asked, i looked up to see his face, all broken and hurt, i let out a breathe i didn’t know i was holding in and nodded, closing the door.
once i changed i was on my way to see paul.
*
once i arrived at emily and sam’s, i got out my car and walked through the open door, it’s was dark outside, so they were inside watching a movie.
i said hello to emily who was with sam in the kitchen, before walking to the living room.
i sat down beside paul “hey”
“hey beautiful” he kissed my forehead, pulling me into his side.
“what happen to you lip ?” i asked him, noticing that it was a little purple, he just looked down to the ground and sighed.
“this should be fun” embry spoke getting up and walking out the living room, the rest of the pack following him.
“what did you do ?” i asked him standing up, i had no thoughts my mind just went blank. nothing.
“listen me and emmett kind of had it out earlier” he tried to calm me down, he tried to grab my hands once he stood up, i pulled my hands back.
“did you hurt him ?” i asked, not want to go all tribrid on him. his silence was the answer. “what did you do !?” i asked running to the back door and running through the woods, crossing over to the cullens land.
alice either saw me coming for edward could hear my thoughts, cause carlise and esme were already outside, holding the door open.
i stopped one they saw me, i gave them a pleasing smile, before carlise nudged his head up, gesturing for me to come on.
“he’s okay just a little sore” carlise spoke, thank god i thought, i walked inside hearing emmett’s soft, sweet, but deep voice.
“yn, is that you ?” once i heard where the voice was coming from i run upstairs and in that direction.
i walked into the living area where emmett was laid out on the couch, edward and rosalie stood up and walked out, jasper and alice probably still out on the look for victoria.
“are you okay ?” he asked me.
“you’re the one sitting on the couch, hurt. and you’re asking me if i’m okay ?” i questioned him sitting in front of him on the coffee table, he shrugged his soft golden eyes meeting mine.
“i was trying to figure out if you were gonna come, then aloce had a vision” he said.
“i’m sorry” i told him, maybe if i would’ve just looked at him earlier he would be okay, or maybe if i just kept him a little at my house a little longer, or if he wasn’t such a dumbass he wouldn’t have done it.
“it’s not you fault, only person i can blame is myself.” he paused. “and maybe that asshat paul” he said i scoffed a bit and rolled my eyes.
“next time there’s a chase don’t be such a dumbass. the wolves can handle their side of the land” i told him, he chuckled before nodding.
“especially now that they have you” he said looking down.
“hey, you have me emmett. you always have” i said, he looked up at me and smiled, palming my face, pulling me into a kiss, i smiled into it, finally having him back.
i pulled away from the kiss, resting my hands on the sides of his face, i pulled him into a hug, his head into my neck.

Wild Swan // Chapter One: Sacrifice.
A/N: So, I renamed Renesemee in this fic (because I do what I want). She’s Charlotte Elizabeth Cullen, Charlie for short. Also, Jacob did NOT imprint on a baby, he turned against the pack because it was the right thing to do.
I wanted to use this chapter to explore, in a small way, the relationship between Y/N, Bella, and the Cullens. She’s spending most of the story without them, primarily on her own, but does that out of love for them and especially for Bella. They used to be a lot closer, I think, before Edward and everything caused something of a separation. It’s not that they don’t love one another, it’s that they are struggling to understand each other when it used to come so easily to them.
Pairing: Felix x Swan! Reader (female).

War was so much quieter then it ought to have been.
When you had imagined such a thing, spurred on by your twin sister’s dark warnings of the beautiful beasts that lurked in the dark, you’d thought it would be a chaos. In your mind, you had seen bodies strewn across the snow-smothered forest and black smoke staining the pale sky, venom burning the earth barren forevermore...the dying screams of monsters, smoke and ash mixing with snow. With what little you knew of vampires, having only just learned of it the truth, you had thought that a battle between would be brutal enough to shakes the heavens themselves, stars falling to the earth and burning it all away.
But it was quiet.
So much so that it almost hurt, the only noise you could have being the thundering of your own heart. War, you had discovered, seemed to mostly be talking. Each side waited across the invisible line, awaiting the first mistake the other dared to make. One wrong step, one misspoken word, and it was all over for them all.
It seemed like some were almost hoping for it.
Between the fallen covens looking for vengeance and wicked kings looking to prove their ferocity, it could have all come to carnage had it not been for Alice. Her visions had been the secret key to peace or something of it, revealing just how close it had all come to the end...and it had revealed you. She hadn’t meant to do it, of course, that much you knew to be true. When in school together, you had thought very little of the Cullens, so lost in your own life. They barely mattered at all to you and, when they finally did, it was only because they had mattered to Bella. But when a strange nightmare had sent you storming into the Cullen house a month ago and into the truth of it all, you and Alice had become especially close. It was strange, wasn’t it? But vampires could be sweet as much as they were deadly and Alice was just that. In time, you’d come to care for them all in little ways but she’d been a true friend…
And if she could have protected you, she would have.
But Aro had learned the truth of it all within her mind, he could see everything and he could see you. Now the king understood that you knew of the existence of vampires and you were a shield, much like your twin.
When the Cullens had returned home, all of them, you’d been delighted.
Esme had insisted that you stay there, the battlefield was no place for a mortal and the fortified house your only protection. Knowing enough to accept her judgment, you’d stayed behind as steel shutters had darkened the place, slowly rolling down as you watched the family walk into the forest. Every one of them, even your sister, was prepared for war that no one wanted. But it was the way it had to be, their lives and love worth fighting for. One window remained uncovered, the only little bit of sunlight left behind in the small attic. Wood creaking beneath your feet, it was a large and mostly empty room, filled with a few pieces of random furniture draped with white sheets and boxes of old memories, clothes from ages ago and artifacts from the past. Obsessed with history all of your life, Carlisle had taken great pleasure in showing you everything and speaking of his journey through history. You’d hung onto every word of it in wonder...and now you stood alone in the silence and the sunlight, the once wonder slipping away into terror.
It was there in the attic that you waited in the light and watched as they walked into war, remaining there until they returned.
Glittering things appeared from the forest one by one, their beauty shocking you still.
Half-amazed and half-terrified, in that moment, all you had cared about was your sister. Was she safe? Was she with them? Now that the nightmare was over, would she smile and laugh again as she used to? Running down the steps, you’d pulled your sister into a hug, the strangeness of her still a surprise. She was so cold now, your Bella, something of a winter queen, and when she touched you, it was as though you were made of glass. Carefully. Sweetly. Reminding herself to be delicate, even when all she wanted was to hold you and love you and never let go. But in that moment she’d hugged you tighter than she had in so long and held you longer, almost allowing herself that little bit of never…
Something was wrong.
You had only ever felt this way twice in all of your life, terror pulsing through your body with every shivering heartbeat. The first was when Bella had run away from home and nearly been killed, not an accident, you had learned, but an attempted murder...the second was when Edward had broken her heart in the forest.
Both times you’d felt it long before you knew. Pain. Loss.
And now you felt it again, everything aching. It was strange, being a sister. Her pain was your own thing to have, even when you failed to truly understand it...pulling away, you looked at your sister, a silent question lingering. Venom stung her golden eyes, looking away as your gaze turned towards Alice. Guilt painted her pretty face as Jasper pulled his wife close.
Something was wrong, your heart whispered once more, and they were keeping secrets again.
Never in all of your life together had she kept secrets from you until Bella had met them, something you often thought about. It was no one’s fault, the lies and the secrecy simply as aspect of their world. Still, it stung from time to time, reminding yourself of what once had been.
“Charlie,” Bella called to her daughter, the name like a lullaby on her lips. “Charlie, go with the wolves for a while. Jacob will keep you safe.”
She trusted them with her daughter, especially Jacob. He’d turned again everything to protect their family, solely out of love and loyalty to Bella and because he had known it to be right. The small, strange child was laughing as she raced into the wood, wolves protectively on her heels. They were taking her to the reservation, you assumed, a hybrid being allowed where a vampire was not, and she would remain there for some time...but why?
Before you could ask, Bella was taking your hand in hers, pulling you into the house once more. Only once she looked over her shoulder and searched the woods frantically. Not for her daughter, you realized, nor for the wolves but for something else.
Some kind of threat, some beast lurking in the trees.
There was nothing there, of that you were certain. Only the winter wind making the trees dance and the shadows shiver. But the terror lingered in her glittering eyes as Bella pulled you inside the house. They kept it locked even still, shutters over the windows and the locks clicking into place, as though it might be enough to keep the beasts far, far away.
“Wait upstairs...I’ll be up soon,” Bella said quickly, her family pulling her away.
And you did.
For a small moment you listened to your sister, trying to ignore the aching in your heart and the rising voices from below. She’d never wanted this for you, never. Bella had only ever wanted you to be safe...but it was far too late for that now and you were here. And you were too much like one another in some ways, both sharing the same stubborn curiosity that had often lead one sister into trouble and the other following behind. Unable to hold back any longer, you crept half-way down the stairs and listened as the family fell apart into another argument. So angry and lost in the argument, not a one of them noticed you at all.
“I will not allow it!” Bella hissed fiercely, as Edward attempted to calm her softly. “I won’t! They cannot do this.”
“They can and they will,” was Carlisle’s gentle yet stern reply. “I know Aro well enough to know that this is his next step. This entire debacle has been an embarrassment for the Volturi, they will wish to remind us all what they are capable of. What better way than to use Y/N as an example?”
“An example? She’d be a prisoner!”
“Couldn't you reason with him?” Esme asked her husband. “Perhaps he might listen to you.”
“No, no, he’s far too angry for that now. We are lucky we returned home tonight at all and that might be the only luck we have...they’re still waiting for my call. They will want an answer by the end of the night.”
His words hung heavy in the air, time already ticking away. Bella scoffed with disgust and rage, Edward once more speaking quietly to her, something you could not quite catch, his velvet whisper soothing and sweet in the air. But whatever he said was not quite enough to quell her anger and the arguing continued in a sea of fury, voices rising like a tempest until Alice’s voice breaking through it all sweetly, almost sadly even.
“Couldn’t we just turn her? She doesn’t have to go with them, she could stay with us, couldn’t she? All that matters is that she’s turned.”
“And cost us all our heads?” Rosalie snapped. “Carlisle is right and we all know it, we’ve used up every bit of reasonable just to get this far! What happens when the Volturi come knocking on the door and just take her anyway? What do we do then?”
“Why would they want her?” Emmett asked.
“You know why! They want a shield, Bella or Y/N, it doesn’t matter which sister. One’s as good as the other at this point. This isn’t some ragged coven of newborns we’re dealing with anymore, it’s the Volturi. And the Volturi always get what they want.”
Hissing, Bella flew at her only to be held back by Edward. And Emmett met his brother’s movements, taking hold of Rosalie and pulling her into his chest, Jasper speaking up to state that his sister was right.
“You have a daughter to think about,” Rosalie reminded her.
At that, your heart froze in your chest. Charlie...your sister, all of her family. They’d done so much to be together, even facing down an army not once by twice before...and now all of it was seconds away from falling apart, happily ever after falling to bits and all because of you. Because you’d stumbled into something you’d never been supposed to know, forcing the choice once more:
Be turned or be killed.
She’d fight for you. You knew it at once, Bella would fight the entire army alone if she had to, she loved you that much. But that wasn’t fair, was it? She had a husband now and a child, a little girl she adored and you loved her too. All of them had somebody to love and something worth fighting for and you...you had Bella. You’d always had Bella, from the moment you’d taken your first breathes and even after her last. Always. And even now, Bella would have fought to keep you by her side. Once, she’d accepted that she would have to give you up, pulling away and telling herself that it was for the best. But fate had given you back and she was so certain that you were worth the fight.
But she was worth the sacrifice.
“I’m so sorry.”
It was Alice speaking once more, her sweet voice weak with sorrow and shame.
Looking up, you caught her gaze in the looking glass and realized that she was speaking to you, the only one aware of your presence.
“I had thought...with so many visions, so many possibilities in my head, I’d thought that maybe he wouldn’t notice her. I needed him to see the battle and what would become of it, believing that it would be enough. But he found her anyway and I, I feel like it’s my fault. And I’m sorry.”
She knew, didn’t she?
Alice knew what you were about to do. Eyes alight with magic, you could almost imagine the visions of your future...what would become of you now, you didn’t know. But she did and that was something to believe in, hoping that there might be something sweeter then a brutal death within those golden eyes. If it was truly a terrible fate, she certainly would have stopped you. But she didn’t and, for a moment, there was a little bit of hope beneath the terror. Unable to take it anymore, Bella stormed out of the house and Edward soon followed behind her, giving you something you had been hoping for.
Time.
Edward couldn’t read your mind, leaving them all unaware of what you were about to do besides Alice, who you knew would keep the secret. All you needed was a few moments to slip away.
And fate brought you just that, the family falling away. Carlisle went to his study, followed by Esme, Rosalie and Emmett storming out of the house as Alice pulled Jasper away too. You only returned upstairs once, running back into the small bedroom you’d been hiding away in. From the pile of books you’d brought with you, there was one you were searching for...an old, clothe-bound book of fairy stories you and Bella would read together as children, huddled beneath the blankets with a flashlight and reading aloud in soft whispers.
Beauty and the Beast and Other Tales of True Love.
Gently you ran your hand across the red and golden rose on the cover, taking up a pen as you opened it to the inside cover and scribbled something. It didn’t seen to be enough, those few words, but you did not have the time to write it all. Feeling the sand slipping through the hourglass already, you wrote only what you could.
“I love you. And I hope you’ll understand how much I really mean that and perhaps even forgive me for this one day...everything I do, it’s all for love. It’s no one’s fault but mine, no matter what happens, but it’s all for love. For Dad and little C. and especially for you.”
And you hoped it would be enough.
Moving quickly, you made for the door, grabbing your jacket and boots...and Carlisle’s cell phone, slipping it into your own pocket as you left the Cullen house for the last time.
It would be a worthy death, wouldn’t it?
You thought of them as you walked through the snow, counting every second that passed and feeling the time more than you ever had before. Bella and her daughter, your father...you’d miss them more than anything else but they were worth dying for. You loved them that much. Pausing once at the end of the clearing, your hand resting upon a barren tree, you looked back at the glass house.
And for a moment, you imagined them.
Bella and Edward never changing as their daughter grew, Carlisle and Esme watching over them all protectively and Alice dreaming in Jasper’s arms...you thought of Rosalie, rough but loving, hoping that no one would put any blame onto her for everything she said. After all, she’d been right and you’d respected her for it. You hoped that Emmett would tell her that. And maybe you would as well, if you ever got that chance to see her again. Looking up at that house, it all faded away in your mind, nothing more but a fantasy of exactly what you wanted for them.
Happily ever after.
And with that, you were gone. At first, you were only running in order to put some space between you and your sister. But when it occurred to you that there was no outrunning a vampire, you paused and tried to come up with a plan. Snow fell sweetly as you searched the darkness for a monster, just Bella had done before, never knowing if it would be the one you loved or the one that killed you.
Had you gone far enough? Would she still find you?
Walking farther still, your hands shook from both fright and cold, reaching into your pocket and grasping the cell phone. Carlisle's contacts were sparse, only family and work and nothing else. Except for one number simply named V.
Once more you glanced into the darkness. Speaking softly, barely even a whisper, you hoped that Bella would hear it somehow.
“I love you.”
Somehow you’d made it to the road, breaking through the tangle of trees and searching the path before you. You could have turned back...hell, you could have gone home to Charlie or even to the reservation. But the thought alone brought images of monsters and spilled blood, your loved ones torn apart. Knowing what might happen if you dared to darken their doorsteps, you instead walked on down the road, taking the direction that lead out of town. You walked until you came upon the wooden sign that welcomed wanderers into the town, with the little pine tree and cerulean wave. Footsteps lay scattered in the snow, the small trial quickly being swallowed by the swirling winds.
Waiting no longer, you made a call to V.
“Carlisle?”
A deep and smooth voice spoke with a strange Frankenstein of accents, something of Italian and Greek and many more things that you could not pick out. The voice belonged to a man, you realized, one of the kings or perhaps a guard, you did not know.
And in the end, you didn’t think it mattered at all, just needing this to be over.
“I’ve made my decision,” you said. “I’m just on the edge of town.”
Silence for a moment, perhaps surprise. Maybe he had not realized who you were at first but quickly, the vampire adjusted. You heard movement, quick and careful, and a quiet curse in Italian or perhaps Latin. And there was another voice in the background, just barely hearing them speak..another man, an order in that same tongue, and quick footsteps.
“Wait there.”
The call ended. It was not a request, as polite as he made it sound, but rather a command. You got the idea that whoever this was was used to giving orders at least in some regard...you just hoped that he was quick. A winter wind blew gently, and you closed your eyes, taking in the cold. Would she be able to catch your scent? Had the wind revealed your little scheme already? Or perhaps she’d returned to her home to find you missing, left with only fairytales and a scribbled goodbye. You hoped, in that moment, that she’d wandered too far with Edward or that Alice might have been able to stall her, just long enough for you to escape. But more then that, you hoped that the stranger was faster than your sister.
Footsteps.
They echoed through the night and were deliberate, a warning of what was about to come. He could have come without warning, if he’d truly wanted to. Too heavy and too slow to be Bella or Edward...he had wanted you to know, hadn’t he?
Perhaps it was a kindness or perhaps it was the thrill of terror he loved, heart thundering in your chest. But it was a man that stepped forward, a hulking creature, not your delicate twin. At once your heart ached again, feeling your sister’s pain as your own. Anger. Anguish. Loss. You didn’t have much time...a black cloak swirled in the winter wind, snow catching like starlight against the dark silhouette as the beast stepped forward, a gloved hand reaching towards you.
“Miss Swan...”

Collision - Chapter 14
Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.7K
Story Description: (Y/N) Uley is back home after being away for four years. Her life is at its first standstill and she is taking this time to find out who she is without school. But she never thought that coming back to the reservation would turn her whole life around. In the midst of secrets and mystery, a man crashes into (Y/N)’s and her life will never be the same.
Chapter: 14/?
Warnings: more heartbreak, underage drinking, swearing, steamy scene (no smut)
A/N: I promise this is not turning into a Paul fanfic (although all my twilight stories need to have some connection to him cause he is one of my favorites). But reader is kind of going on a downward spiral for a bit. She'll come out way better at the end but there are three whole months unaccounted for in the books that I need to make up and I love angst, so. This chapter is a mess and so is reader.

Chapter 14
There was an intricacy to breakups that (Y/N) had not yet grasped. She wanted to feel everything at once. Rid her memory of all things Cullen for once and all.
But this type of heartbreak wasn’t like the others. It consumed you bit by bit. Chipping away at your very soul until there was nothing left but the shell of a person. It was the kind of heartbreak people wrote songs about, poetry about, books about. The kind that is forever etched into your mind as the one that altered the chemical composition of your being. The one that becomes a checkpoint for your life – there is you before the heartbreak and the you afterward.
(Y/N) didn’t want to feel all of that. She needed her life to go on as if nothing had happened. Maybe this was the push she needed to go to med school. Maybe this was the reason she moved out of state and traveled. Maybe this was the point in her life where all the good things came.
Nothing works out as one wants.
She fell into a vicious cycle.
She would wake. She would go to work. She would come home. She would cry. She would sleep. Then, she would wake again.
And somehow a whole month had gone by.
She would wake. She would work. She would cry. She would sleep. Every. Single. Day.
At some point, (Y/N) was made aware of Bella Swan’s similar status. The poor girl had suffered the same fate she had. It made her think they had been cursed. If there were vampires and werewolves, witches and curses didn’t seem like such a fantastical idea anymore.
Maybe that’s what the two Cullen men had done to them. Cursed them with their love. Their bittersweet love.
One thing kept playing in (Y/N)’s head. Words Carlisle had used to make sure the wound never closed. 'Just like your father.’ That sentence had been carved into her skin, sending shivers down her spine each time she remembered it. He was right. She had been resolute in the idea of leaving everyone she loved behind for him. For a simple man that cared more about his reputation than her heart.
It made her think too much of Joshua Uley. She had been very young when he left. With the years the image of him started fading from her memory. First, she couldn’t remember his voice. Then, his face blurred. Finally, she could not even remember how it felt to be hugged by him.
She knew Sam resembled him the most in appearance. Their mother would often cry about how much he reminded her of him. But she always said (Y/N) had his eyes and his soul.
“If only you both could have met him when we fell in love,” Allison would cry to them – inebriation aiding to her woes. “My little (Y/N), your heart is just like his was. But I know you are stronger.”
The girl had never understood what her mother had meant. Until now. She felt she was all the bad parts of her father. She was going to abandon her family in a selfish search for a life that made sense to her. No longer could she recall the way her father would read her to sleep; how he would kiss her wounds after getting them clean and wrapped; how he celebrated each time she came home with an outstanding grade. Now all she could recall were the bad things he did. The way he acted when he would drink; how he would fight with her mother when he thought the kids weren’t listening; how he left his family without a second thought.
Glimpses of her childhood flooded her mind. Her brain nitpicking at the specific bad moments she felt identified with.
That particular Saturday one memory stood out. She remembered every time her father would get angry, specifically the thing he would do right after. In the entrance hallway closet, there was a floorboard that was loose. Inside, Joshua would store a collection of liquor bottles hidden from the eyes of his family. (Y/N) had once investigated the hiding place. At her young age, she had no idea what the liquids were, but she knew it made her father act out of the ordinary and be led by his emotions.
Maybe that was what she needed at the moment, she thought. There could not be any other reason for her brain to concoct that memory now - (Y/N) had not spared a thought for her father in over a decade. Maybe what she needed was the liquid that made everyone speak their mind, even if unwillingly. The bitter nectar that could make her father shift from anger to sadness, to disappointment in a matter of minutes. That’s what she needed. To feel everything at once and purge it all out of her system. Surely that was the way she would get over losing a life with Carlisle Cullen.
She was by herself that day. Her mother had pulled a double shift at work and would not be back until the early hours of the morning. So, she headed to the closet in hopes that she had been the only one to discover the secret hideout.
The door of the closet creaked as she swung it open, the sound hurting her ears. If someone else had been in the house, they would have most definitely heard it. The small room was unassuming. Good enough to store the thick jackets they would need for winter as well as some lighter ones for the rest of the year. Boxes were piled at the top on a shelf, and shoes and bags were thrown about on the floor.
Her eyes quickly were transfixed on the wooden board from the corner that slightly stuck out. To anyone else, it would simply look like it needed to be pushed down, but (Y/N) knew the reason it never was.
She had taken a flathead screwdriver and used that to jam it into the space between the floorboard and the emptiness underneath, prying the old plank open. And just like she had remembered, half a dozen bottles of an assortment of liquor bottles were strung on the floor. Most of them were halfway done, the others only a quarter of liquid was left in them.
(Y/N) lifted one that she recognized. The label reading vodka reminded her of the one and only time she had had alcohol in her system. A stupid weekend afternoon in her school where her roommate had decided to sneak in a bottle after Christmas break. She had brought it back from her home and had told everyone that her parents had allowed her to drink whilst she was home.
It had been reckless and stupid, and she had ended up puking all night, promising she would never drink again.
But she also remembered how it was the first time that she truly felt homesick. Well, she had always felt a bit homesick, but that was the first time she outwardly expressed it. For her – at that time, at least – emotions were too much of a distraction. They kept her from striving forward, doing whatever she had to do to earn the best education possible. And so, she repressed everything. Until she downed half the bottle of vodka her roommate had brought back.
So, she drank.
And she would continue to drink for the next two weeks during the times she was by herself. The next weekend, she paid a guy twenty bucks to get her enough bottles of vodka from the store to get her through the month. It was stupid and reckless, but that was exactly how she felt.
She hid the bottles under the same floorboard her father would. Sneaking around to take a small swig before she would go to bed; hiding a drink after she came home from work; spending the days she was alone drinking and crying.
The next Saturday after the first time she found the bottles was no different. (Y/N) took hold of two bottles, placing the wooden floorboard down just as she had found it. She did not want her mother to find anything awry, not even herself.
So, at two in the afternoon she started to drink.
The first swig of the bottle always went down roughly. It burned all the way from her throat until it hit her empty stomach. She knew the feeling would be almost instantaneous. Without any food in her system and no water intake, her head would be swaying after the third sip from the bottle.
She didn’t mind the burn. She welcomed the almost unbearable sting the alcohol left. It wasn’t as strong as she had remembered the drink to be, but it was good enough for its purpose. She would feel it all. She would fill the vast nothingness she felt inside. She would drink until she forgot.
Four hours and two bottles completely drained later, (Y/N) lay on the ground, staring at the ceiling as it spun around her. Tears fell from her eyes, but she didn’t necessarily feel like crying. They simply fell. She also felt tired, but not tired enough to fall asleep. She was tired of feeling dread. She was tired of grieving. She was tired of yearning for something that would never be hers.
“Did you know you could actually die from heartbreak?” (Y/N) spoke to no one in particular. She was by herself. Completely alone. “It’s true. It’s called broken heart syndrome. It’s when a stressful event makes the body release a massive surge of adrenaline and noradrenaline causing the small arteries that supply blood to the heart to narrow, decreasing blood flow to the heart. It’s rare that someone would die from this. But it doesn’t mean it can’t happen,” she sighed for a pause and continued. “I never understood this until now. I questioned how anyone could care so much about something – someone – that their own body knows when that person hurts them. The heart becomes weaker when that person decides to trample all over it. Can you imagine?  What would people say?!”
And then she laughed. She laughed until her stomach hurt. Because how stupid did she feel? Promising her future to someone so unpredictable, so volatile. Someone she had no idea existed until a few months before.
Then, she cried. Because she felt stupid. For considering abandoning her mother, and her brother. For considering spending eternity with someone that did not deserve it. Someone that had been so careless with her heart – with her love.
Her cries were so loud she did not hear the sound of the front door as it opened.
Paul had been walking down the street after coming back to Sam’s house after a useless patrol. The Cullens were gone, he had thought, what was the need to keep on the lookout? He was bored. Sure, he detested the bloodsuckers, but he liked the thrill of threatening them when they walked too close to the treaty line, the adrenaline that rushed through him as he rushed after one of them when he smelt them from afar, the dreaming that one day one of them would step out of line and he could sink his teeth into one of them. Now, it was no fun.
As he walked, he kicked a pebble down the street. There was only one person he wanted to spend time with, but she was slightly preoccupied with getting over one of the cold ones. To him it was easy. He was a man that could never give her the life she deserved. Someone who would simply bring her into a life of hiding, a life she wasn’t made for.
In Paul’s mind, (Y/N) was made for grandeur. She was meant to save people, to make a name for herself in the medical community. She was meant to make it out of their little town and move on to bigger, greater things.
What Carlisle had done was be a coward in Paul’s eyes. The man had it all. Money, power, a united family, and the best woman out there. He literally had it all. And threw it all away at the first sign of trouble. Paul knew his money wouldn’t suffer; he would always have his standing between his people; his family would follow him wherever he went. But (Y/N). (Y/N) was collateral damage to him. He had taken what he wanted and thrown her aside. If he hated the Cullens, this stuck the nail in the coffin.
It had been a month since he had spoken to her. A month and a half since he had seen her completely break down in front of him over a man that was not worth it. So many days had been robbed from them, their friendship. Days he could have used to rekindle their relationship, to transform it. So much time that had been stolen by Carlisle Cullen and his cowardly actions.
“If she’d give me a chance, I would make sure she knew how lucky I was to have her by my side,” Paul had said one night at the beach to Jared, babbling on as he normally did when speaking of (Y/N). “That bloodsucker has no idea what he’s let go of. Either way, she deserves so much better.”
“And that’s you?” Jared asked between laughs. “I don’t think I need to remind you, but she did choose him at some point in time. Even after your lousy attempt at swaying her to you.”
“I could be everything she didn’t know she needed.”
Paul grinned at the memory, the same way he had grinned that night because he truly believed his words.
In his reminiscence, Paul heard sobs. A heart-wrenching sound that he had grown to know. He’d heard it but a month ago, and he would hear it every night he walked by her window. It was a sound he wished he could erase from his memory and take from her repertoire.
Many times, he’d listened to her cry until she would fall asleep, never getting closer under direct orders from Sam. This was her heartbreak to navigate, Sam had told her. There is not much they could do about it.
But this time was different. Her cries were mixed with a sharp smell, one he could not tie to (Y/N), but one he remembered well from his times in high school. A dangerous weapon when in a state of sadness.
Paul walked up the creaky stairs of the porch, pressing his ear to the front door to confirm the cries that emanated from the other side. His hand checked the doorknob to find it unlocked, and without much preamble, he walked in.
(Y/N) was on the floor in the middle of the dark living room, clutching her chest and crying. Empty bottles of vodka surrounded the girl. The smell hit the wolf right away, burning his nostrils. It was a devastatingly heartbreaking scene.
“Why?” (Y/N) cried, not yet noticing Paul’s presence. “I f-fucking loved you.”
“(Y/N)?” Paul called out startling the inebriated girl. She sat up quickly and clutched her head as she clearly felt the wooziness from the alcohol. “What’re you doing?”
“W-why ‘r you here?” she slurred. “W-why?”
“I could hear and smell you from outside, (Y/N).” He was worried. Not only was he hurt to see his friend like that, but it surprised him to the lengths she was going to forget that Cullen man. It was reckless. “What’s going on,
“I’m a fucking mess, Paul.” She looked defeated. Completely and utterly defeated. “I-I wanna forget him. I wanna rip every piece of my skin he touched. I wanna incinerate every single memory I have of him. I wanna rid my body and my soul of anything I put his name on. I wanna fucking detest him.”
“This isn’t the way to do it, (Y/N). It’s barely six in the afternoon and you are drunk out of your mind. How long have you been like this?”
“Why do you care? I can do whatever I want,” she continued to slur her words. “I’m going to feel everything I need to feel and forget him. Forget he ever existed. Forget anything that he made me feel.”
(Y/N) crashed onto Paul’s chest as she continued to cry. Her emotions quickly flipped between anger and sorrow, unable to control the fast switch. She felt completely out of control, unable to moderate how her feelings came out. But it was better than feeling a suffocating nothing.
Just like the first night, she cried on Paul as he rubbed comforting circles on her back to calm her down.
“Tell me what I can do,” he whispered into her ear. “What can I do to help you through this, (Y/N)? I can’t stand to see you like this.”
She didn’t know how to answer. There wasn’t much she was sure of those days. Still, she felt an overwhelming feeling creep into her. As she lifted her head and stared into Paul’s eyes, she couldn’t help but lean forward, crashing her lips onto his.
It was warm, she thought. Unbearably warm. The kiss was sloppy and unskilled, messy, and hungry. Maybe it wasn’t what she wanted but it was what she felt she needed at that moment. Because she needed to forget. And with just enough distractions she could maybe do just that. Forget.
(Y/N) moved her body until she was on top of Paul, straddling his lap. Her hands grasped at the short hair on the nape of his neck, pulling him closer to her. It made her whole body ignite with a fire she had not felt in a while. She craved physical touch, intimacy, and sexual desire. And Paul could give her that. She wanted to forget how comforting the cold had become to her. She wanted to be warm – burning hot. (Y/N) wanted the complete opposite of who and what Carlisle was.
She wanted more.
Her hands dropped to the hem of Paul’s white wifebeater, pulling it off his torso, then landing on his toned chest. She ran them through his muscles, her fingers tracing the Quileute tattoo that adorned his arm. She felt intoxicated by something stronger than the alcohol running through her body. Something that edged the bad decisions on, tempting her to let her intrusive thoughts win.
Feeling unsatisfied with how slow everything was going, (Y/N) dove her hands down as she kissed Paul’s jaw and neck, fumbling for the button on his pants. That was until Paul took hold of her shaking hands.
“What’re we doing here, (Y/N)?” He was breathing hard, unable to stabilize his breath properly. “You’re drunk.”
“I’m sober enough to make my own decisions,” she retorted. “Plus, they say to get over someone you should get under someone else. So, that’s exactly what I’m doing.”
“So I’m just your rebound.”
“Gods, Paul! When did you get so sentimental?” (Y/N) said exasperated. Getting up, she threw his shirt at his chest trying in any way to let out her frustration. “I thought this was something you wanted.”
“Not like this,” he said. His response was unnaturally soft. Paul could see how much (Y/N) was hurting, and as much as he wanted nothing more than to be this close to her in any way possible, he could not do it this way. “(Y/N), you’re drunk and emotional. I can’t do this when I know you’re not in your right headspace.”
“Why do you care where my head is? It’s just sex.”
“If tomorrow you feel the same way, then we can talk. But I simply can’t,” he responded. “I care too much about you to let you do something you might regret when you’re in this state. Let’s get you to bed, (Y/N). What you need is to sleep.”
“What if I went somewhere else to get what I want?” It was clear that she wanted to hurt him, push him to the edge until eventually, he broke. Her subconscious mind told her it was wrong. To manipulate his feelings this way was the worse thing she could do to someone she cared about so much. But her alcohol-subdued mind spat whatever it could to get what it wanted. “Maybe I’ll call up Jared. Maybe even Jake might jump at the request. I honestly could not care less.”
His eyes softened at her as she spewed those empty threats. Paul knew where they were coming from a place of pain and need. Even if they did hurt him, he understood that this (Y/N) was not the one he loved. She was a mask put on to hide her true feelings.
“Look, (Y/N). I would bring down the fucking moon for you if you asked,” he whispered as he closed the distance between them. His hands landed softly on both sides of her face, shifting her lowered gaze to meet his. “If you want to go sleep with the first guy you see, that’s your prerogative. But I can’t let you do that when your decisions are being made when you are absolutely fucked up. As your best friend, I won’t allow it.”
(Y/N) stared into Paul’s eyes, defeat slowly taking over. He was right. Completely right.
Then, the waterworks came once more.
“I just want it to stop,” she cried. “I want to get over him. I want to go on as if nothing ever happened because it hurts. It hurts so fucking much.”
“I know,” he said. “And it will keep hurting for some time, but this is not the way to do it.”
“It’s a way,” she whispered. “I’m tired.”
“Let’s get you to bed and we can try and talk tomorrow. How about that?”
Finally giving up, (Y/N) allowed Paul to guide her to her room. She snuggled herself into bed as Paul set a glass of water and two aspirins on the bedside table. It was a nurturing side to Paul she had not seen before, or simply had not noticed. He cared for her just like she had cared for him when they were little.
“Make sure you drink this as soon as you wake up.” She nodded in response. Too tired to talk anymore. “And, (Y/N). Don’t make any bad decisions while I’m not around.”

Before we start, a few bullet point facts to get out of the way:
•Jake and Bella are the same age (Bella is still older) and Seth and A.J. are a year younger than them
•In this Twilight fanfic universe, vamps and wolves who were changed before they turned 18 continue to age until they reach 18 cause I said so
•Jasper served in the Union
•My idioms or comparisons may suck but sometimes the only way for me to get a point across is to be extremely descriptive
•This story follows both the movies and books and may switch between the book’s timeline and the movies
•Proofread but not perfect
Also this story is Seth Clearwater x OC (?) Cullen based on my friend who requested this slow-burn fic, cause there are almost no Seth fanfics (the disrespect😤✊🏻). All chapters are named after Florence+the Machine songs cause me and my bestie love her stuff.

Without further ado…Chapter 4 of Shake It Out
——————————
“You going to play fair this time?” Alice asked as she stretch her left arm across her chest while standing at second base.
Emmett scoffed, twisting his back only a few away from Alice, “I always play fair.” The striped baseball cap was secured by him for emphasis.
As it thundered around them, seven out of the eight vampires were currently preparing for a game of baseball patiently, on some parts, awaiting Bella and Edward’s arrival following the Cullen's official introduction to her. Lucky for Bella, she was about to witness a sacred tradition in the Cullen household that started years before A.J. was around. It was something each vastly different personality could enjoy and gave each of them a chance to use their physically enhanced abilities to their full capacity.
Nine days after A.J. joined the rest of her family in Forks, Edward decided a baseball game was just what A.J. needed. The idea for a baseball game to ease A.J. into the new family dynamic, came to Edward after he caught A.J. reminiscing about a game-saving catch from her human years. Later that day, he approached Carlisle and proposed a game the next time it stormed, and naturally, Carlisle and everyone else eagerly agreed. So on the ninth day, when the forecast called for a thunderstorm and delivered, the Cullens played a heated baseball game.
During A.J.’s first game of baseball with the Cullens, the newborn broke out from the remainder of the barrier she had built up after her transformation. Being a part of the winning team, with star pitcher Alice, definitely aided A.J. in feeling like her old self. Easily the last ‘strike’ of her barrier, especially since striving to win and typically doing so, had encapsulated her human years. Along with the fun on that day, Emmett saw an opportunity to ensure he would always be on the winning team and jumped on the bandwagon; claiming the title ‘A.J.’s Coach’ after witnessing her skilled third-basemen skills.
“Nu-uh,” Alice exclaimed and placed her hands on dark leggings, “You totally lied about that ‘foul ball’.”
“I didn’t lie about the foul ball you hit.” the younger of the two Cullens smirked, “Ain’t nothing to be ashamed of, Alice. You’re just a crappy hitter.”
Alice gasped and smacked his shoulder, “At least I can pitch without taking someone’s head out!” she defended herself.
Emmett snickered before a smug smirk crept onto his alabaster skin, “Can’t help it, Wonderland. I’m jacked like Hercules!” he kissed both of his biceps after flexing underneath his navy blue tracksuit.
“Alright, alright, alright,” Jasper called out as he strutted towards the bickering siblings, “No fraternizing with the enemy.”
The Texan placed a hand upon Alice’s narrow shoulders which dawned a white baseball vest, and gently guided her away from Emmett with a baseball bat in his other hand.
By first base, a groan came from Rosalie that was bending down by the waist and holding her calves to stretch. The couple and Emmett, who were conglomerating near home base, turned their attention to her.
“You’ve watched ‘Dazed and Confused’ too many times.” the tall blonde gracefully swung her torso up to stand straight.
“No such thang’, Rosie.” A.J. quipped while flashing next to Rosalie with a moderately sized pink boom box in her sleeve-covered arms, “We Texans support each other.”
A.J. met eyes with Jasper’s, a mischievous glint in both their eyes to match their smirks. A silent conversation transpired between the Texans, much to the others' despair before they both resumed what they had been doing.
The youngest Hale gave Rosalie a friendly pat on the back and clicked her tongue before jogging off toward the right side of home plate where Esme and Carlisle were chatting. Her black backpack bounced off of her back as the wind pushed against the buttoned pinstripe shirt, which was similar to Carlisle’s, which was tucked into her black leggings. On her feet was a pair of hot pink socks that peeked out of the same dusty white sneakers she always wore when participating in any outdoor activity - provided an extra bounce to her step.
A ‘bleh’ left A.J. when Carlisle and Esme shared a sweet kiss just as she walked past them.
“I think I feel my teeth rottin’.” the girl swiped her tongue across her top set of teeth.
The lovers parted with a chortle from each and turned their attention to their youngest child.
“You know, Angel,” Esme sang as A.J. set the boom box down after kneeling a few feet away from them, “You might find yourself falling for someone like your father and I have for each other.”
A.J. shook her head as four of her siblings snapped their attention to their conversation.
“Absolutely not,” Emmett commented with a small frown.
Alice rolled her eyes at the overprotective brute, “Dating is normal and healthy; especially for developing teenagers.” she spoke with her arms crossed.
Rosalie stared at Alice, “She’s going to have to wait, regardless, Alice. There aren’t exactly sixteen-year-old vampires roaming around here, and we don’t need another reason for the Volturi to be on our backs.”
The Cullens stilled. Faces dropping, bodies tensing, and minds swirling with guilt. The words Rosalie were the same as they always were; spitting out insults or malign words aimed towards Edward and Bella’s relationship. Though, this time, her words held a different meaning for the group. Reminding them all A.J. couldn’t have what they wanted her to; what they all wished she could.
     A normal life.
Having been changed at the youngest age of fifteen in the Olympic Coven, she had even less time to have lived as a human. Too quickly was she thrown into this world; too quickly had she been forced out of the other. They all knew she loved her family dearly, and they shared the sentiment, but they were aware of her desire to ‘be’ a teenager again; to live a normal adolescence. They desired the same for her. Rosalie most of all. Despite a few apprehensions about A.J. dating, the choice being stripped from her makes it a bit harder to play the role of an ‘overprotective and gruff’ family member.
A.J., having her back turned to the brooding vampires, knew what they were all thinking and could feel the tension in the atmosphere. She often thinks of the same thing - she craves it. Not necessarily romance, but at least the choice to.  More often than not, she chooses not to share her thoughts on it, except for a few times when Edward caught her thinking about it or her and Rosalie’s late-night talks. Unfortunately, ignoring them only made the thoughts and desires stronger. The fact of the underlying doom of immortality is that every choice you’d thought you’d gain - every decision you’d thought you’d get to make twice, gets ripped away from you in a few short moments.
A.J. shook her shoulders as if a chill ran over her, and unzipped the small compartment on the front of her backpack once she set it in front of her.
“Listen,” she broke the silence as she pulled out a CD case with four men sitting around a table on the cover, “they’d have to be a very special person for me to consider datin’ - I mean, I’m hot…and got standards.”
Her unspoken mission of raising the mood was a success as a plethora of smiles, and an eye roll or two made its way around.
“Oh no! Guys, where’d the sky go?” Emmett feigned a look of fear as he peered up at the sky with a hand as a shield, “Oh, never mind, it’s just A.J.’s big-ass head.”
A.J.’s mouth dropped at her brother's words just as she finished placing the CD in the correct compartment, and twisted her torso while in a squatted position.
Rosalie sent a glare toward Emmett before saying, “There’s nothing wrong with confidence.” her eyes softened when she turned to A.J. from afar.

“It’s hot on you, babe,” Emmett explained, his body language matching his whiny tone, “Not on A.J.”
A.J. snorted, along with Alice, and the other Cullens gave Emmett a look of confusion at his choice of words.
“I sure hope it’s not hot on me,” A.J. spoke with a flabbergasted tone as she fumbled with buttons on her boombox.
Emmett physically faltered, “I-I-you guys know I didn’t mean it like that.”
Jasper quirked an eyebrow up, “Oh, really, dearest brother? Then by all means, please elaborate your eloquent words.” he spoke with one hand still on Alice’s shoulder and the other twirling the metal bat.
Emmett frowned, “I was trying to compliment my wife and insult A.J. at the same time, which proved to be more difficult than expected.”
“Seems you really are only brawn.” Jasper teased further, an almost sinister smirk across his face.
“Hey!” Rosalie barked out with a harsh expression, “I may be on your team, but I won’t hesitate to hurt you.”
Emmett’s demeanor changed instantly to smugness at Rosalie coming to his defense. The smirk on Jasper’s face didn’t move, instead, it seemed to grow wider at Rosalie’s threat; as if he were daring her to touch him. He dropped his arm from Alice’s shoulders and dipped it into his pocket.
“I’d like to see you try, yank.” the Texan leaned back as he pointed the baseball bat at her.
At the sight of Rosalie beginning to stomp forward, Carlisle thought it best to speak up.
“Rose,” the eldest vampire warned, arm tucked under his wife’s white jacket and around her waist.
The irritated blonde’s head snapped toward Carlisle’s so fast it was a miracle it didn’t break.
“What?” She spat, annoyed at Jasper and Carlisle.
Carlisle gave her one of his hopeful smiles, “Let’s try to have a nice day.”
“That goes for you too, Jasper,” Esme paused before switching her gaze to a smug Emmett, “And you.”
“W-what-I,” Emmett fumbled over his words, “I’m a victim of defamation! I’m innocent here.”
Jasper lowered the bat to the ground and settled his weight on it.
     “Yer’ ‘bout as innocent-,”
A.J. drowned out the bickering behind her, engrossed in her boom box and getting it to work. The recurring problem, which she insisted was easily fixable and did not require a new one, was that the CD she put in would spin for a few seconds before coming to a stop. She grew more agitated as she repeated the process of taking the CD out, exhaling on it as she would on a cold window, gently wiping it off on her black leggings, then placing it back in the compartment, and pressing play - only to have to repeat the process. After another failed attempt, A.J. took an unsatisfying deep breath before forcefully exhaling through her nose.
“Shit.” A.J. huffed to herself, thankful no one could hear her over the bickering.
“Ya know, ever since the fall of New Year’s Eve of ‘08, my boom box ain’t never played the same.” A.J. thought aloud to anyone who would listen.
Rosalie was heading up the field and across to A.J.’s side instantaneously; always being willing to help her baby sister. It helped that she was the most skilled mechanic out of the Cullen Coven; her confidence in cars crossed over to most things technical…except t.v.s, though she was always looking to expand her knowledge. In her own time.
“Did you put fresh batteries in?” Rosalie inquired once she reached A.J.
A.J. observed Rosalie squatting down next to her, out of her peripheral vision.
“Yes, I put fresh batteries in,” A.J. snarked out without thinking.
The tone she used earned the young vampire a warning look from Rosalie, who stared her sister down. A.J. shut her eyes and turned away for a moment, before returning her gaze to Rosalie.
“Sorry, that w’n’t directed at you,” she earnestly apologized, “This damn thang’ is pissin’ me off.” she gestured vigorously at the malfunctioning boombox with pinched brows.
Rosalie ushered a ‘thank you’ in response before examining the portable stereo further.
As the two Hale girls inspected the boombox and the other Cullens chatted amongst themselves, a silver jeep pulled toward the wide-open field. Its wheels tracked through the soft ground, leaving a muddy trail behind it and on the black tires.
Esme and Alice both grinned excitedly at the arrival of the new couple and Carlisle smiled softly, not outwardly matching their level of excitement. Emmett and Jasper were too busy misconducting themselves to turn their attention to the car as it was pulled into park a bit away from the others. From beside her, A.J. felt Rosalie tense up. Well aware of Rosalie’s opinion on all of this, she knew her attitude could turn fast and possibly ruin what was supposed to be some family fun time.
Esme and Carlisle shared a look before both turning back to give Rosalie an encouraging smile. Rosalie, who held the look of distaste she always held when Bella was in mind, gave them nothing promising in return. With a cheesy grin and painfully raised eyebrows, A.J. shot her parents a double thumbs up. The couple chuckled at her behavior and returned her thumbs up and smile, at a lesser volume.
The eldest Hale sister turned her attention to A.J. after observing Carlisle and Esme’s reactions, to find her sister still in the over-the-top position. In a blink, the newborn now sat with a dramatized frown and slowly raised her left hand to rest on her no-longer beating heart. Her head shook in a defeated manner, in hope that her big sister would crack a smile at her ludicrous behavior. Fortunately for A.J., in a move so minuscule only the trained eye would notice, the right corner of Rosalie's lips raised ever so slightly. Victoriously, A.J. beamed; savoring the lightened presence and softened gaze of her bitter sister.
During this transaction, Edward stepped out of the driver's side door and walked around the silver Jeep he arrived in. His gaunt hand opened the passenger-side door, and out stepped Bella in a rugged, brown jacket with her brown hair in a ponytail covered by a baseball cap that mimicked Emmett’s, only being worn the right way around. Her shoulders were hunched as she was within herself in a way that completely contradicted the way Edward delved into himself; usually. Today, however, Edward seemed more withdrawn than usual. Previous teasing didn’t aid in reducing his nerves at all, and the fact of the constant threat this brought to Bella and his family, well, it added up.
The couple shared the same social awkwardness, but Bella carried herself in a way that lacked confidence and made her appear fragile. Whereas during most occasions for Edward, he exuded confidence, some even say arrogance; at least that’s what A.J. had heard from her sibling's school gossip and teasing. For the unusual pair, however, it seemed to work quite well for them.
While A.J. observed her brother and his new girlfriend, Rosalie had found what she believed to be ‘the sweet spot’ on the pink boom box. With a loud ‘thump’ that nearly made A.J. jump out of her skin and attracted the others' attention, the CD in it began spinning fast. A.J. beamed at her sister, who she considered a hero at the moment, and flicked her head between the boom box and her at a lightning-fast speed. A.J. excitedly placed her index finger onto the ‘play’ atop the boom box and pressed it without hesitation. Music blared from the speakers, bass instantly filling the chests of the two vampires who sat in front of it.
“WHOO!” A.J. cheered and fell back onto her butt.
Emmett thrust his fist into the air, “HELL YEAH!” he yelled.
“YEAH!” Jasper joined with a playfully stern face and copied Emmett’s action with the bat.
From an awkward angle, the ecstatic newborn wrapped her strong arms around Rosalie’s midsection, nearly toppling the elder Hale over.
“Thank you!” the girl squealed while Rosalie gained her balance back.
Rosalie smiled brightly as she hugged A.J. back, “No problem, just stop letting people touch your stuff.”
“I tried to stop Emmett from recreating that scene from ‘Say Anything’.” Edward called out from the Jeep where he and Bella just finished a conversation.
“Aw, come on,” Emmett whined with a smile, “It was Valentine's Day! I had to do something for my babe. After 72 years together, you gotta’ keep it fresh.”
The burly Cullen winked at Rosalie, who didn’t spare a glance at her husband, leaving him dejected as she marched her way to Carlisle who was only a few feet away from her. Carlisle had retrieved the second baseball bat from a long white and blue that also contained extra gloves and umpire gear and was resting his weight upon it. He greeted Rosalie with a close-lipped smile and opened his mouth to ask her but was quickly stopped by her palm flying up in front of him as she stomped by.
A.J. could feel the anger radiating off of her sister, even without a special power and her being across the field now. She knew it was a miracle for Rosalie to even be here, with her previous plan of leaving to avoid the game and Bella all together. Without a doubt, A.J. knew it would get better once the game started, the others thought so as well, especially since her demeanor was quite bright beforehand the new couple arrived.
“So that’s how you’ve managed to keep her.” Edward teased Emmett as he and Bella reached home plate.
Emmett flashed next to Edward, causing Bella to jump, and wrapped a thick arm around his brother’s shoulders, which were covered by a button-up baseball jersey.
Edward gave the younger vampire a look, already knowing what he was about to say.
“Emmett, that’s revolting,” Edward grimaced and pulled himself from Emmett’s grip.
“What?” Emmett furrowed his dark brows, “I was just gonna remind you that I’m not the one who thought sparkling was a dealbreaker.” he decided to keep his previous thought to himself.
A few of the Cullen ‘children’ laughed at Emmett’s remark, despite it being at Edward’s expense. His joke, as expected, did not sit well with Edward who was glaring at his brother.
A.J. glanced up at Jasper messing with a baseball bat, “Oo! That’s awkward.”
The girl sucked a breath through her bunny-like teeth while beginning to read through the tracklist on the back of her CD case.
A half-hearted grin slowly spread its way onto Edward’s face and his right flew up to swipe his mouth.
“You know, Emmett,” his arm was now around Emmett’s shoulders, “I think you're just scared of your team losing.”
“Not unless you plan on throwing the game,” Emmett smirked with crossed arms.
Edward’s shit-eating look was stolen by Emmett. His head snapped over to Esme, asking a silent question, but easily found the answer by using his gift.
“Rosalie and Alice wanted to be on a team this time,” Esme explained nonetheless while grabbing umpire gear out of the baseball bag, “We’re team ‘Wonder Woman’!”
Edward furrowed his brows, “Jasper’s on your team.” His inquiry was disguised as a statement.
“It’s an honor to be on a team named after comics’  finest heroine,” Jasper answered for himself as he practiced his batting stance to the side of Carlisle and Rosalie.
Edward looked to Emmett, “And we are…MVP?” a look of dissatisfaction was on his face.
“I was vouchin’ fer the Cheetahs, personally,” A.J. spoke up, “You know, Wonder Woman’s nemesis and all.” she clicked the skip button at the top of the boom box.
Esme smiled at her children’s banter and pushed her way toward Bella with a black baseball glove and chest protector. Bella met her gaze with a close-lipped smile and hesitantly took the glove when the Cullen matriarch extended it to her.
“Glad you’re here,” Esme wrapped an arm around Bella, “We need an umpire,” she stated while leading the girl to home base.
Emmett waltzed past them, “She thinks we cheat.” he continued heading down the field.
“I know you cheat.” Esme taunted as Emmett tossed a baseball between his hands.
A.J. tsked, “Y’all love to say that ‘cause our team happens to always win.” she goaded while placing her ‘Muse’ CD back into the small compartment of her backpack.
“What about last time,” Rosalie asked with a sarcastic tone from her spot near second base.
Bella glanced at the brooding woman, “What happened last time?” she switched her gaze to Esme as they parked themselves at home base.
“Here, slip your jacket off for a moment, sweetie,” Esme instructed kindly, “Last time we all played, which was…,”
“March 30,” Alice answered from the pitcher’s mound.
Esme thanked Alice with a smile, “Thank you. Anyway, Carlisle continuously struck out during the first inning, resulting in team ‘VIP’ having five fewer runs than team ‘Great Batsy’.”
During her explanation, Esme slipped the black chest protector over Bella’s neck.
“Crying, Bella,” A.J. scooted her bottom to face Bella, “I was cryin’ and I don’t even have tears.”
Carlisle smiled sheepishly, “In my defense, I had a lot on my mind.”
A.J. didn’t miss the subtle embarrassment that showed on Edward’s face nor the looks her siblings gave him.
“No excuse, sir,” A.J. threw a finger up, “We’re winners, and I expect ya ta act like it!”
Her behavior earned a chuckle from Carlisle and an exclamation of agreement from Emmett.
As this went on. Esme adjusted the chest guard causing Bella to blink at the sudden movement but eventually helped Esme settle it on her torso. Once it was resting on her shoulders, Edward snaked behind Bella and adjusted the straps across her upper back. Esme then stepped away to give the new lovers some space. Her pallid face held a warm expression at the sight of the ‘son’ she had grown most fond of, finally finding happiness in love.
The sweet moment was soon ruined as Bella was jerked back by the force Edward unconsciously used. A crease formed between Esme’s dark eyebrows as she frowned at the  uncomfortable scene in front of her. She sent a small smile; whether it was a warning to be mindful or encouragement was unknown; and stepped away from the couple to help the others in setting up.
“Sorry,” Edward’s hands faltered on the straps, “Last time I did this was back when A.J. had first joined us.” he secured the chest guard on Bella’s back.
Bella nodded, still holding her brown jacket on her arm. The sleeves of her white shirt twisted as Edward’s hand snaked around her to lift the brown jacket off of her right arm.
“It’s okay,” she swallowed as Edward prepared her coat to assist it on, “How long ago was that?”
“Why does it matter?” Rosalie snarked out with crossed arms and a hip popped out.
Edward paused in helping Bella put her jacket back on to give a warning look to the blonde.
Carlisle’s lips pressed into a straight line, “Rose,” he warned.
Bella looked back at Edward before back at Rosalie.
“It doesn’t, I was just curious.” Bella answered honestly.
“And it’s a perfectly valid question,” A.J. spoke up.
Rosalie’s eye roll could practically be heard by the others.
A.J. briefly glanced back at those behind her, “If we’re goin’ off the day I actually moved here, then…,” she trailed off while calculating.
“A.J.’s lived here since last August.” Carlisle answered for her.
Bella nodded as she consecutively pushed her arms through the sleeves of her jacket as Edward finished helping her by hiking the coat up until it was entirely back on.
“It’s a little tight,” Bella stated with tight lips as she rolled her shoulders.
The jacket she wore barely fit over the padding of the chest guard thrown onto her. Her arm movement was restricted, but she supposed it was better to have stiff arms than a shattered sternum.
Loud guitar suddenly blared from A.J.’s boombox, the owner of it now swaggering over to home plate. She snatched up a black glove lined with hot pink from the gear bag on her way over.
“Sorry, Bella-rella,” A.J. approached the uncomfortable human, “It’s either have no protection ‘gainst my lethal pitches and get soaked down to your knickers, or have protection from such pitches buuut still get soaked - ‘cause-uh-do you smell that?”
A.J. threw her arm around Bella’s padded shoulders and thoroughly inhaled with her nose pointed toward the sky.
“It’s gon’ rain.” A.J. rasped out while gradually lowering her head.
Emmett grinned from over by third base, “It’s gon rain!” he repeated.
“IT’S GON’ RAIN!” A.J. shouted before patting Bella on the back and jogging to the pitcher's mound.
Esme chuckled next to Carlisle before turning to her husband.
Her hands pressed his chest, “Alright, enough chitter-chatter, Bella didn’t come here to talk. Let’s play some baseball!”
Esme patted Carlisle’s chest, signaling him and the remaining Cullens not in place, to assume their positions on the field.
A.J. eyed Alice as she approached the pitcher’s mound, “You’re gonna’ have to move.” A.J. jutted her left thumb toward home plate.
Alice furrowed her brows, “And why is that?”
Rosalie frowned as Carlisle her way, “Yeah, why is that? The team I’m on lost last time.”
“We know,” Emmett stated, “We decided, however, that we wanna play the field first… and so A.J. can pitch first.”
Rosalie rolled her topaz eyes once again while Alice agreed to their decision and they both jogged back to home plate. The remaining two members of team ‘Wonder Woman’ had yet to move from their previous spots at home plate and waited for the others to get into position.
“Keep an eye on Emmett, alright,” Edward spoke into Bella’s ear with a smile.
Emmett frowned, “Hey, we’re on the same team!”
His fist slammed into his gloved left hand, clearly itching for the game to start.
“That doesn’t change your track record.” Edward retorted after flashing over to second base as Carlisle jogged to first.
With the baseball gripped tightly in her right hand, A.J. swung her arm toward Jasper at home plate, who was also preparing.
“Careful, Eddie,” A.J. warned, “Might start ta’ think you're a snitch.”
Edward chortled, “How can one be a snitch in baseball?”
A.J. craned her neck to look at him, “Uh, I don’t know, mind reader.” she squinted suspiciously at him.
Emmett glanced between before a look of realization spread across his pallid face.
“Ohhh, yeah, I see what you’re gettin’ at, Aje,” Emmett smirked while eyeing Edward, “You’re gonna listen to our team's thoughts and then sabotage us.”
Edward paused and blinked, words escaping him. One weakness he would never admit, even if he was being tortured, is the effect Emmett and A.J. have to completely and utterly bamboozle him. Once the shock of Emmett’s accusation wore off, Edward peeled his eyes open and met Bella’s brown ones. She held an amused expression, her eyes asking a question Edward couldn’t hear. He sent her a silent shrug as an answer whilst A.J. and Emmett continued their rant.
“Alright,” Carlisle’s call silenced Emmett and A.J., “I’m sure Edward is not planning a betrayal, and even if he was-,”
“Which I’m not.” Edward chimed in.
“I know,” Carlisle spoke in his mind with an apologetic look, “Even if he was, I think we’d still manage to win. Even without Rose on our team.”
A smug smile spread across Carlisle’s lips, as a chorus of ‘Oo’s’ blended with the breeze that blew his striped scarf.
“Let’s go then,” A.J. spun on her heel to face home plate, “Jasper.” she nodded.
Jasper nodded back, preparing his stance.
“Angel.” he smiled at her, eyes filled with determination.
In an instant, A.J. propelled her right arm forward. The ball flew from her hand and headed straight to Jasper. The bat he held swung out and away from his shoulder, his torso and legs twisting to enhance the force he hit with. With a loud crack of thunder, the ball collided with the bat and launched high into the sky. Unfortunately for Jasper, the ball headed into the air directly above A.J., who leaped up what seemed like five-hundred feet to Bella, and caught the ball with ease in her gloved hand. A.J. landed on her feet with a thud, sufficiently stopping Jasper from running just as he dropped the bat.
Bella glanced up at Esme from her squatted position a little ways behind Jasper as laughs or winces echoed through the air. The speed at which the Cullens play made it difficult for her to decipher anything, let alone the baseball knowledge she lacked. She briefly wished she would’ve paid more attention to her step-father’s career now. Answering her silent question, Esme nodded to her with a grimace.
     “Out.” Bella called.
“Oh-ho-ho, Mr. Whitlock,” A.J. called in a nasally British accent, “How it seems your strategy has grown weak.” her smile grew at the sound of Emmett’s snicker.
Alice watched as her husband tracked back to join her and Rosalie on the sidelines, frown on his face but posture still perfect. Jasper handed her the bat as he passed her and continued until he was next to Rosalie.
“It’s okay, Jazzy,” Alice cooed, “It was only your first bat.” she gave him an assuring smile as she approached the plate.
A.J. grinned at Alice as the older vampire settled into batting position. A strike of lightning in the distance lit the grey sky and was quickly followed by a deafening crack of thunder. Bella jumped in her skin at the unexpected volume which only heightened her stress levels. Having noticed the jump, Esme raised a hand that had been resting on her knee and placed it on Bella’s padded shoulder. She gave the girl a squeeze and a gentle smile as Bella craned her neck to meet Esme’s gaze.
“Hey, batta’-batta’, hey, batta’-batta’, swang~,” A.J. mimicked exuberantly swinging an imaginary bat.
A smile spread onto Alice’s face upon hearing the song, “I got ta just do my thang~.” she happily sang back.
“Enough singing,” Emmett yelled, “Get on with the game!” he eagerly threw his fist into his gloved hand.
A.J. frowned as she twisted her head back, “Let us enjoy ourselves!”
“Clearly someone can’t dance.” Alice smirked teasingly still in her batting stance.
Emmett’s hands paused with an almost offended look on his face. Those spectating were either watching thoroughly entertained, or less than amused and wanting to continue with this close game.
“Oh, I can dance,” Emmett answered nonchalantly, “Tell ‘em, babe.”
Thunder cracked around them as all eyes zoned in on Rosalie, awaiting an answer.  A smile slowly grew on her diamond-like jaw as if a pleasant memory was filling her mind.
“Oh, he can dance,” her declaration rewarded her a wink from her doting husband.
A.J. stuck her tongue out, “Bleh,” she faked a gag as her torso rag-dolled.
Esme chuckled at her reaction from her hunched-over position behind Bella.
“Alright, ‘nough talk, let’s get back to the game.” Esme clapped her hands together right as it thundered.
Carlisle nodded at his wife, “Impeccable timing.” he smiled at her.
She quirked a short eyebrow up at him with a smirk, “Thank you.”
Returning her attention back to the game, A.J. peered up at the sky as if she was waiting for something. Her eyes fluttered shut as she forcefully inhaled for an exaggerated amount of time. Bella furrowed her brows at A.J.’s action, briefly glancing up at Esme again.
“She’s waiting for the thunder,” Esme answered without taking her eyes off the scene in front of her.
“She technically don’t have to,” Jasper chimed in, “As long as we’re playing during a storm, we don’t have to wait for a ‘loud sound’.”
A.J. lowered her head, “I like the dramatics. Sue me!”
Before Bella could blink, the ball was flying at Alice. With another loud crack of both thunder and the bat and ball colliding, Alice dropped the bat and dashed toward first base. The ball flew past A.J.’s left side and headed to Emmett who immediately jumped into action. He shot into the air, left arm extended above him, with the ball directed at him. As Alice reached first base, the ball grazed the top of Emmett’s gloved hand and continued into the forest behind them.
Edward darted back into the forest as Alice approached second base. His topaz eyes bounced rapidly around the trees and brush until he spotted the baseball. Edward then snatched the ball off the ground and threw it to Emmett through the trees, who was anticipating the throw. Emmett hurled his body to the left and roughly landed at third base when Alice stepped on it.
A chorus of ‘whoos’ and hollers sounded from home plate as Alice bounced victoriously on third base. Emmett scoffed as he rolled onto his knees before hopping up while Edward came flashing back from the woods.
“Lucky shot,” Emmett commented as he stood next to Alice.
Alice looked up at him with a smug look, “That was pure skill, Emmett.”
“Damn right it was,” Jasper called out with his arms crossed.
The Cullens continued an epic game of baseball, one that was far too fast for the human eye to properly view. Bella struggled to see anything but the aftermath chatter and positions after the end of a run. Thankfully for her sake, Esme or another member of team ‘Wonder Woman’ was there to help her with the calls; disregarding Rosalie.
The Cullens had made it to the third inning, in record time thanks to their enhanced abilities. Team ’MVP’ was currently three runs ahead of team ‘Wonder Woman’. Jasper had redeemed himself and hit a home run, Alice was currently at second base, Esme resided by Bella and awaited her turn, and Rosalie was currently up to bat. Team ‘MVP’ were positioned the same way as before and eager to continue.
“You ready?” A.J. nodded at her sister as they both readied themselves.
Rosalie crouched into position, “As ever.”
A.J. drew back her right arm before swinging it forward and putting her weight on her front leg. The baseball flew toward Rosalie before another crack echoed through the field and throughout the surrounding forest. Rosalie dropped the bat, pushed off of home plate, and sprinted down the field. The baseball was heading between second and third base, where Edward and Emmett were positioned on either base.
Alice sprinted past Edward and Emmett who were distracted by the fast-approaching ball. As the pixie-like vampire passed by third base and Rosalie reached first, Emmett and Edward jumped simultaneously with their arms outstretched and ready to catch the ball. Unfortunately, the duo collided with each other in a loud ‘thwack’ and the two members of team ‘Wonder Woman’ managed to reach home plate. The women secured two more runs for their team and caused a total wipeout for the opposite team that resulted in Edward and Emmett splayed out on the grass and the baseball deep in the forest.
Alice skidded to stop a few feet away from home plate and Rosalie followed by sliding across the grass and onto home plate. Amidst the cheers of the successful team, Jasper ran to Alice and picked her up into a spinning hug; squeals of laughter leaving the victorious woman. With a grin, Esme extended her arm down to Rosalie who grabbed it with a smirk and hopped up.
“That’s how we do it!” Esme high-fived Rosalie once she was standing.
Bella nodded from her squatted position, “Yeah, that was a good play.”
Rosalie glared down at the girl, “You couldn’t even see it.” she spat.
Esme’s smile turned to a frown, “Rose.” she warned.
     “What? It’s true.” Rosalie defended.
“Well, I mean, she’s right,” Bella said, “I-I couldn’t see it, but-,”
“Alright, how ‘bout we turn our attention to the real issue ‘ere,” A.J. interrupted the three, “Which is betrayal!”
A.J. thrust her finger in the direction of a chuckling Emmett and Edward who had just stood up.
Edward, having already heard what she was about to say, ceased his laughter.
“A.J., are you really pushing this?” Edward groaned.
A.J. fought back a smile, “Oh, yes, indeed I am pushin’ this, traitor!”
Emmett stared at Edward, “Oh, yeah. It is a bit strange that the mind reader Edward didn’t read in my mind that I was gonna jump for the ball.” a smirk spread across his short jaw.
“Exactly!” A.J. eagerly agreed with a stomp, “He sabotaged us so the loser team would have a chance!”
Rosalie crossed her arms, “I think we have a chance regardless of Edward’s treachery.”
“I’m-I am not a traitor. I did not even think of reading anyone’s mind, because I was focused on the game.” Edward let out a flabbergasted laugh.
Emmett adjusted his stance and crossed his arms.
“Exactly what a traitor would say,” Emmett stated.

Edward’s tongue darted across his pristine white teeth as he grinned in annoyance, “I think the only one you should be accusing of ’treachery’ is Alice.”
A smirk spread across Edward’s lips at his words.
“What!” Alice’s hands fell onto her hips.
Her eyebrows knitted together underneath her navy blue cap at the sudden accusation. A crack of thunder sounded around them as if Alice herself conjured it up with her voice. The babbling duo, Emmett and A.J., observed Alice before staring at Edward and then meeting each other’s gaze. Skeptical looks were painted upon their pale faces as the wind picked up around them. The rest of the Cullens and Bella were left awaiting their next move, wondering if Edward’s distraction worked or not.
The accusing pair busted out in chuckles and giggles, ripping Edward’s hopeful look off of his face.
Emmett turned his head to a dejected Edward.
“Alice wouldn’t have the time to see our moves,” Emmett stated matter-of-factly.
A.J. nodded, “Yeah, plus, she ain’t on our team.”
Emmett and A.J. smirked at each other as if they just deduced the most abstruse mystery in history. A snort could be heard coming from Hale ‘twins’ by home plate, though that did nothing to deter the growing confidence of A.J. and Emmett.
Edward chuckled out in confusion, eyes darting around those who stood throughout the field. His mouth opened and closed, struggling between the option of a logical defense or leaving the whole ordeal to rest. Staying silent seemed like the best option, considering logic fell upon deaf ears when it came to Emmett and A.J., but ultimately Edward decided to play the ‘call on the parent’ card.
“Carlisle,” Edward pleaded to the man who was standing near first base.
Edward motioned to his ‘attackers’, hoping the wise man’s words would bring some sense to the situation. Carlisle looked upon his son with tight lips and one hand over the other resting in front of his body. A glint of amusement shone in Carlisle’s golden eyes from the scene he silently observed, much to Edward’s dismay.
“Emmett, A.J.,” Carlisle spoke, “Edward isn’t a traitor-,”
The wind picked up around them and quieted Carlisle as a fog emerged from the enclosing forest. A gasp fell from Alice’s lips while her arms fell from her hips to her sides. Her eyes had seemingly glazed over, hinting at the vision she was having. As if in slow motion, Edward stared at her before peering over at the forest behind them just as Alice’s vision ended. The rest of the Olympic Coven’s eyes turned toward the forest, whether it be from their own acute hearing or sensing the seriousness of Alice’s vision.
“Stop!” Alice yelled desperately as it thundered around them.
Edward was across the field and next to Bella at a moment's notice, the rest similarly hustling about. With her eyes still peering past the bare trees, A.J. felt an arm grip her left bicep tightly. Her eyes flicked over to see Emmett pulling her toward the rest of their family, Carlisle on her other side. Their eyes held a look of worry as they flashed over together.
A.J. flickered her gaze between them as they joined the rest at home plate, to which Edward was pulling Bella toward the Jeep as Alice spoke quickly. A.J. stared at her family with knitted brows, clearly missing a vital piece of information, though she heard words of getting Bella out of here and nomadic vampires hearing their baseball game.
    “Nomad vampires?”
Panic fell upon A.J., concentrated in her chest, as memories filled her mind. She swore she could feel teeth tearing into her skin again, the excruciatingly slow loss of blood, her vision blurring, the taste of iron mixed with mud cutting off her breathing; choking her as water filled her lungs. Squeezing her eyes shut,  A.J. attempted to combat the rising terror with logical thoughts.
     “I’m a vampire now too.”
     “They can’t hurt me.”
     “I ain’t food anymore.”
“They might be vegans like us.”
“No, they ain’t. They’re the ‘predator’ on the news.”
Unfortunately for her, the thoughts weren’t anything but a mere hindrance, to what she knew was illogical fear.
“It is illogical, right?” A.J. questioned herself amidst the chaos growing around her and the sudden absence of music.
Before she could freak herself out more, a wave of peace washed over her and drowned out the fear in her chest. A moment after, two hands came to rest on her shoulders, which she deduced to be Jasper’s as everyone else was in her line of sight.
Her head snapped up, the bottom of her messy braided pigtails bouncing with the movement. A.J. was met with an assuring smile from Jasper, who squeezed her strong shoulders.
“Everythang’s gonna be alright.” Jasper reassured her as he guided her to stand in the back with Bella.
A.J.’s pigtails bounced again as she nodded furiously, “Yeah, I know.”
With another squeeze and a close-lipped smile, Jasper parted from his sister and hurried over to Emmett who stood waiting at the far right end of the line of vampires.
“Get your hair down.” Edward ordered Bella with a pinched expression.
Bella momentarily froze and stared at Edward with a bewildered look, before hesitantly pulling the hair tie from her mousy brown hair.
Rosalie turned around with a scowl, “Like that’ll help, I can smell her from across the field.”
With one last look, Rosalie turned back to face the oncoming threat with the others. Carlisle moved to stand tall in the front as everyone else gathered around. They formed a ‘wall’ in front of Bella, her being the obvious vulnerable human here, and A.J. as she had been pushed to the back by Jasper.
“I shouldn’t have brought you here, I’m so sorry,” Edward shook his head as Bella pressed him for an answer, “Just be quiet and stand behind me.”
Bella clung to Edward’s side as he stepped toward the others but stayed just behind them with Bella. The youngest Cullen moved to Bella’s other side, matching the body language of her family. Past the line her family created in front of the three, A.J.’s copper eyes fell upon three figures emerging from the woods.
In the front, passing through the growing fog, was a dark-skinned man with long locks, an orange leather jacket atop his bare torso, and a pair of dark, lined pants. To his right, was a woman with curly ginger hair and a long fur shawl that blew in the wind as they tracked forward; a confident smirk carved into her alabaster skin added to her alluring appearance. Lastly, the most menacing of them all was a man who stood to the left of them; his blonde hair was pulled into a low ponytail that enhanced his dark, hooded eyes. The one characteristic that united them was the piercing ruby color of their eyes, which reminded A.J. of her own a couple of months ago.
The young vampire hurriedly untucked her pinstripe jersey from her leggings all the while keeping her eyes trained ahead. With her enhanced speed, she threw open the buttons of her shirt, leaving her with just a baby blue tank top adorning her torso.
“Here,” A.J. spoke to Bella, snapping the girl out of her frozen state.
The human turned her head to face the newborn vampire and her eyes followed consecutively. Her gaze fell upon A.J.’s worried face as the taller of the two threw her jersey around Bella and placed it on her shoulders. Bella briefly unlatched herself from Edward for the jersey to encase her shoulders and arms.
A.J. adjusted the jersey on Bella, “It’s not much, but I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t wash it last time we played so it’s…oh shit.”
A.J.’s ramblings were cut short as the trio of vampires was now standing still a few feet away from the group. With her enhanced hearing, she heard Bella’s heartbeat pick up next to her and prayed that the oncoming threat wouldn’t notice amidst the storm.
The frontman raised his right hand in a fluid motion, and in it was the homerun ball Rosalie hit. His pristine teeth contrasted against his dark skin as he flashed an inviting smile. A.J. couldn’t help but appreciate his good looks despite the tense situation. His shorter stature and medium build were carried casually, in a way that let you know he was confident and felt no need to compensate. The exposed torso revealed by his unbuttoned green-tinted vest and jacket showcased his toned upper body. He was undeniably tantalizing and attractive, though A.J. supposed that’s what made him dangerous.
“I believe this belongs to you,” The vampire remarked before flicking his wrist and sending the ball toward Carlisle.
Carlisle caught it with ease, an unreadable expression on his face.
“Thank you.” a friendly smile appeared on Carlisle’s face.
A.J. shifted her weight before stepping over to stand next to Esme. Sensing her daughter moving next to her, Esme instinctively reached for the girl’s bicep before snaking her arm around A.J.’s. and pulling her close. Esme flicked her eyes to A.J.’s arm upon meeting bare skin, curious as to what happened to her jersey. In response, she received a simple smile and her daughter’s cold left hand on hers.
“I am Laurant,” the stranger spoke again, “And this is Victoria and James.”
A.J.’s gaze lingered on Victoria, her voluminous curls framing her soft features. Her presence intrigued the young vampire more and more as she studied her face and body language. It was almost feline, the way she moved, her minuscule movements were elegant and smooth. Once again, it was clear how her looks could be a weapon.
James, however, did nothing but frighten A.J. Everything about the vampire screamed dangerous and to stay away. He, unlike his coven-mates, did possess the same alluring appearance or body language. The ways his eyes seemed to stare into your soul along with his tall stature reminded A.J. of the tales of Slender Man she’d heard some classmates talk about before she was turned. His weapon, without a doubt, was intimidation.
“I’m Carlisle,” the Cullen patriarch gestured to the others standing beside him, “This is my family.”

“I like your shawl,” A.J. spoke and nodded to the one draped around Victoria.
Instantly, she felt all eyes on her and Esme pull her tighter to her side. The girl shrugged it off, thinking to herself that flattery is usually the best way to smooth things out.
Victoria eyed A.J., taking in her appearance having paid more attention to everyone else.
“Thank you,” Victoria smiled, “I like your top. It’s a good color on you.” her words seemingly rolled off of her tongue.
A.J. returned the smile, “I know, right.” she let out a stiff chuckle.
Flattery certainly worked for herself as her apprehensive mood lessened from the compliment.
“Yes, well, I’m afraid your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us.” Carlisle brought the attention back to him.
Laurant’s dark eyebrows raised as his ruby eyes widen ever so slightly.
“Our apologies,” he spoke earnestly, “We did not realize the territory had been claimed.”
His apology seemed almost empathetic according to A.J.’s ears. Regardless of whether or not she had been swayed by his being, she almost took his apology to heart if it had not been for the guard she desperately held onto.
Carlisle nodded, “We maintain a permanent residence nearby.”
Laurant twisted his neck to face James who was peering past Carlisle and Esme at Edward. A.J. unconsciously hardened her eyes in anticipation of what the nomad may do, having a hard time relaxing in his menacing presence. She feared what he may attempt to do to her family and wondered just how capable his coven could be against the Cullens.
“Really?” Laurant’s smooth voice held a tone of disbelief, “Well we won’t be a problem anymore. We were just passing through” His gaze returned to Carlisle.

“The humans were tracking us, but we led them east,” Victoria announced, “You should be safe,” she spoke the last part in a hushed tone as she leaned her head forward for emphasis.
     Carlisle nodded, “Excellent.”
A.J. caught the reluctant smile on her father’s face. It was one she’d seen him use on a woman who had struck up a conversation with him on one of A.J.’s earlier excursions to ease her back into society. She recalled the woman’s tone being rather flirty as she rang them up at the register.
Laurant glanced around at the Cullens.
“So,” he pressed, “Could you use three extra players?”
One by one the Cullen’s eyes fell upon Carlisle, awaiting his response. His gaze never left Laurant as he silently considered the best option.
Laurant smiled, “Oh, come on, just one game.”
Carlisle let out a quick sigh before smiling, “Sure, why not. A few of us were leaving - you can take their place.”
A.J. crane her neck to glance back at Edward and Bella. Edward’s hardened gaze seemed almost frightened as he glared ahead at James. The fear on his face didn’t come from a fear of his own well-being but Bella’s. A.J. knew that was the only thing on his mind, getting Bella away from here and keeping her safe.
“Why didn’t you just flash her to the car? You had time.” A.J. thought to Edward who only briefly spared her a glance.
Deciding to let it be, A.J.’s eyes moved to Bella who stood with her mouth slightly agape and still clung to Edward. The young vampire knew the human’s fear well and sympathized with her, especially since it was unknown how long Bella would be forced to endure this.
     “We’ll bat first.”
A.J.’s turned around in time to see Carlisle toss the ball to Laurant, but Victoria flashed her pale hand up in time to catch it.
“I’m the one with a wicked curve ball.” The smirk permanently edged into Victoria’s face grew wider.
The atmosphere grew lighter at her remark as the Cullen's spirit slowly returned.
“Oh, well I think we can handle that.” Jasper egged her on which earned a confident smirk from Emmett and A.J.
Laurant sang out an ‘oh’ at the banter, body swaying with anticipation as he clapped.
A.J. leaned her torso forward, “I’m a bit of’a star pitcher myself.” she eyed Victoria with a smile while Esme began to pull her toward the others as they retreated back.
“We shall see,” Victoria spoke as both she and Laurant spun around to head down the field.
Though his coven-mates were moving to prepare for the expected game, James stayed stationary with his animalistic gaze set on Edward and Bella. His head tilted to the side as he further inspected his ‘prey’, but Bella kept her gaze set on Edward. Her arm was wrapped around his as she waited for him to move though he stayed in an intimidation contest with James. Finally and with one last look, James turned on his heel and began to find his spot on the field. Bella let herself breathe as they were almost off the hook, but she relaxed too soon. Just as she and Edward began turning, the wind blew against their backs which pushed her scent straight toward James.
James’s neck twisted as he inhaled deeply, eyes fluttering shut as he faced the couple again.
He exhaled and smiled, “You brought a snack.”
The predatory vampire lunged forward in a hunched manner, ready to pounce on his prey. Edward pushed Bella back and jumped to action as well, all but A.J. following suit, including James’s coven-mates. The young vampire swiped her jersey off of Bella’s shoulders and swiftly threw it on as she moved to stand in front of Bella. The girl’s copper eyes glared at the trio in front of them, her fear manifesting into courage. She and Bella suddenly stumbled back as Esme pushed A.J. farther away from danger. Perhaps that was where her courage came from; an unconscious understanding that her family wouldn’t allow any harm to come to her.
“A human,” Laurant questioned as the tension grew.
“The girl’s with us.” Carlisle stated with a calm voice, “I think it’s best if you leave.” his eyes stayed trained on James.
Laurant nodded, “I can see the game is over. We’ll go now.” he held his palms open and facing the ground as he slowly backed away.
Once again, James lingered, this time with Victoria by his side, who seemed eager to kill for him. Laurant glanced at James questioningly, his patience running thin for such antics.
     “James.” Laurant called out.
With a growl and one last look, James’s posture straightened as he turned away from the Cullens. Victoria followed with a hiss and joined James to which they wrapped an arm around each other and stalked away. Laurant led them as he walked backward before gradually spinning around to walk straight.
A.J. watched as Edward slowly raised from his hunched state, deep in thought…or what she assumed was James’s.
“Get Bella out of here.” Carlisle ushered as he placed a hand on Edward’s shoulder, “Go.”
The eldest Cullen then pushed Edward back toward where Bella and A.J. resided. A.J. quickly flashed to the side and gave her brother an encouraging smile to which she received a nod. As Edward rushed Bella to the jeep, the Cullens quickly gathered what they had come here  with.
“W-wait, what ‘appens now?” A.J. asked as Carlisle wrapped an arm around her shoulder and placed his right hand protectively on her other.
“We go home.” Carlisle answered and began to lead her away in the direction of home.
A.J. stared at him as the others caught up with them, “Then what?”
Carlisle looked down and gave his daughter a close-lipped smile as Esme flashed to her other side.
“Let’s just get home first.” he told her.
A.J. nodded and turned her gaze forward before stopping dead in her tracks and craning her neck to look around Carlisle.
“Wait, my stuff!” she called out.
“Don’t worry, we got it.” Rosalie answered as she slugged A.J.’s backpack around her shoulders and Emmett cradled the girl’s boom box.
A.J. nodded again, “Thank you.” she let her gaze fall forward.
The girl bit her tongue in anticipation of what was going to happen. The courage she had gained left her once she heard the wheels of the silver Jeep skid away in the mud. Dread replaced it as the primary emotion in most of the vampires present. Her thoughts were far too jumbled and rapid for her to calm herself down as Carlisle began to pick up speed. One thing that remained clear in her mind as she started to run, was her family staying safe. Though, she had no clue how she'd do it.

I’m back on my…
✨Twilight Vampire Bullshit✨
Tumblr media
Cw: Morbius Spoilers
Emmet starred at the human before him, narrowing his eyes and raising a brow. This went on for several minutes before any of the other vampires decided to speak up. It was a simple spring morning in the Cullen house, school was out for spring break so most of the other people were out of town. But the Cullens stayed home, enjoying the company of the only human Rosalie tolerated.
“Babe, what are you doing?” Rosalie asked, crossing the room to join Emmet and sit at his side.
Before Emmet could speak however, Edward cut him off.
“He’s trying to read their mind. Let me tell you brother, that’s not something you actually want to do.” Edward smirked, assumant present in his tone.
“But that’s the thing, they’re always thinking! How do you have so many thoughts? What are you planning? Tell me mortal!” Emmet bellowed.
You finally became aware of the fact that all eye in the room where now on you. You were a lone human in a house full of vampires, and they were all starring at you. But you couldn’t tell them what you were thinking, it was stupid, you’re thoughts were never truly important. Not when you felt relaxed and safe anyways.
“What have we told you about that nickname Emmet?” Esme warned her son.
“But they like it. Tell her.”
You shrugged.
“I’m actually quite curious too. You’ve actually managed to make Edward feel something other than his seemingly endless teen angst. And don’t even get me started on the emotions you’re feeling right now.” Jasper smirked.
You let out a deep sigh.
“I don’t think I will actually, I value what you guys think of me and I don’t wanna ruin that.”
“My dear, we could never think any less of you.” Esme cooed.
“Yes, and my children are stubborn, they won’t stop bothering you until you tell them. Not sure where they got that quality from” Carlisle sent a playful glare to his coven.
“Morbius” you muttered under your breath.
You knew they had heard it, but it was evident they didn’t understand. But you couldn’t contain your excitement anymore.
“After 5 years of waiting I finally got to see a Morbius in theatre last night! And let me tell you this man is the finest vampire I’ve ever seen-“
You slapped a hand over your mouth after realising what you just said.
“You went to see a vampire movie…” Emmet started. “Without me?!?”
“I’m sorry Em, you were busy. Besides I’m pretty sure you and Rose were having quite a bit of your own fun last night anyways. Let me have this.”
“You watch vampire movies with them?” Edward asked, bewildered.
“Why are you so surprised, you’ve know him for how long? Does anything Emmet does really shock you all that much anymore? Besides it’s no weirder than me watching movies about other humans.”
“The inaccuracy makes it more fun.” Emmet shrugged, smiling at you. “Now tell me about this Morbius you traitor!”
“Alright so he’s like this doctors who’s dying of an incurable disease right? And he splices his DNA with that of a vampire bat!”
“That’s not factually accurate.” Carlisle interrupted.
“It’s a super hero movie? Are you expecting accuracy? They have to embellish things to fit their own personal narrative ok.”
“Ok so I’m assuming he’s succeful?” Rosalie asks, now curious.
It still surprised the others when she was soft with you, or engaged in conversations she’s typically find grating or useless. But she loved to listen to you talk, didn’t really matter what it was about.
“Yes, it didn’t go as expected. He was hoping to just activate the anticoagulants from the bat DNa to help cure and possibly even reverse his blood condition. But because his experiment was kind of unethical-“
“And most likely illegall” Carlisle chimed in once more.
You didn’t mind when he did this, I meant he was listening.
“You hang out with Bella’s Dad far too much…”
Carlisle finally glanced up from his book to look at you. He rolled his eyes when you smirked at him.
“Let her finish her story My Love” Esme pleaded with her mate.
He simply glanced back down at his book, prompting you to continue.
“So he had to perform the experiment on himself obviously, because you can’t be double illegal and perform human experiments on another human. like what if they died, that would make you a killer.”
“Didn’t you say he becomes a vampire because of this though?” Jasper piped in.
“Yes, I’m getting to that. But being a vampire murder and a human murderer are two different things. Different species, different rules. So anyways he preforms this experiment on a cargo ship in the middle of the ocean right, and he’s not expecting to gain the blood thirsty aspect of the bats from this universe. So he blacks out and kills all the mercenaries on this ship and then jumps off.”
“Why would he jump off the boat?” Alive finally spoke up.
“Because my sweet Alice, he didn’t want to kill the last person on the boat. The girl that helped him transform. He’s had a crush on her since like college.”
“Awww that’s so sweet of him.”
“I know right. Anyways fast forward a bit, he gets arrest as the “vampire murderer” lame, I know. And his best friend who’s like a billionaire gets into the prison and gives him blood so he’s strong enough to get out. Said best friend also took the serum and is now a vampire and has been framing Morbius for murders like the whole week right.”
“So the best friend had the same blood condition?” Jasper asked.
“Precisely! But basically to wrap it up, Morbius makes something that can kill the both of them, cause he knows he can’t live off synthetic blood forever, and he manges to kill his best friend right? But bam it’s the end of the movie and he somehow turned his lady friend, but he has no idea she’s alive and he just runs off so he won’t get arrested again. Can’t prove he didn’t commit the murders since the person who did became a vampire because of him.”
“Interesting, you’re leaving out all the details you’re excited about.” Edward jeered.
“Stay out of my head lover boy! And your parents are here, not gonna say that in front of them.”
Carlisle cleared his throat and Esme giggled, leaning into him.
“So what makes this vamp so hot?”
You pulled out a picture of him, passing it around.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The reactions varied throughout the room. And you sighed in content when the phone got back to you.
“Why does he look like that?” Edward asked
“We’ll he’s a vampire because of Bat DNA genius, so he had other bat like features and abilities. God look at those teeth.” You complimented.
“He looks like a piranha” Emmet declared.
“We’ll this piranha can eat me any day.”
You looked around the room, realising you said it out loud. Emmet was howling and Alice and Rose were snickering under their breaths. Edward looked horrified and you could see the disappointment on Carlisle’s face.
“What, his bite alone isn’t confirmed to turn anyone, so like he could just bite me and I could move on with my life. I’d be into it.”
“You’re hopeless” Jasper said, patting you on the back.
“No I think the word you’re looking for is horny”
An: this is so bad. But I genuinely really liked Morbius. Wasn’t much of a storyline but I would love to see more of him! I love a good vampire movie 🥰

Twilight Chapter 1.
*ON HOLD FOR NOW.*
Tumblr media
I wake up to my dad knocking on my bedroom door letting me know we are leaving in fifteen to pick up Bella from the airport. I get up from my bed and hop into the shower really quick. After my shower I brush my teeth and pick an outfit to wear. I’m downstairs and ready to go in less than ten minutes.
Oh, did I mention I’m the only werewolf in my family thanks to a long-lost line of grandparent. Yeah, its super cool to me, at least I know my some of my pack mates think otherwise, but I find it awesome! I’m Bella’s older sister by 3 years and have been living with Charlie since I was 14 because I wanted to live with him instead of my mom. Bella stayed with mom, since she did not want to leave her even though she has Phil. My mom and I haven’t had the best relationship because I weren’t a planned childlike Bella. I guess I always found my mom a little selfish for always wanting to be out and traveling and I get that she was young, but when you have a child, you should become mature and take care of your child not go off playing with your boyfriend. My mother is more of a child than an adult so I had to become an adult when I was supposed to be a child. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love my mother, but I just wish she spent more time with me and Bella when we were kids. So, at fourteen I decided to move in with my dad after asking them both if I could do that. My dad loved the idea and I was happy to live with him instead of just visiting him every summer for only two weeks. Charlie and I have a great relationship and we get each other well. I’m lucky that I got the combo of both my parents rather than just one, unlike Bella she’s more like my dad than mom.
I phased into a werewolf when I arrived in Forks, and I had no clue about the supernatural or that I was one. Let me tell you that was a shock to me. Thank God Charlie wasn’t at home when I phased because that would’ve been bad. I guess I got the Cullens to thank for the best thing that has happened to me in my life! Of course, I had no clue that there was already a pack in La Push until I came across their territory without knowing and having been tackled by a giant grey wolf. Who turned out to become my boyfriend later on. I did learn how to control my phasing thanks to Sam Uley who has the best control I have ever seen. He has totally become my mentor out of the pack. I met the rest of the pack after I put the grey wolf in his place for attacking me, which I gotta say was funny as hell. I learned his name was Paul Lahote who by the way is the hottest guy I have ever seen or so I thought up until I met my imprint who ended up not knowing I existed thanks to my sister, but I mean Bella is beautiful with brown wavy hair that lays at her middle back and brown eyes with fair skin she gets that from dad, while I have long brown wavy hair as well with green eyes and tan skin. I don’t know who I get the green eyes from since I have not met any family members on either side of my parents’ tree.
I graduated Fork’s High two years ago, so I won’t be going to school with Bella anymore which kinda sucks because I don’t want her to be there without at least knowing one person.
We get to the airport and pick up Bella. On the way back to the house in the car its silent and awkward knowing Bella and dad they have a hard time talking to each other since they are both awkward people Bella more so than my dad.
“Your hair’s longer. My dad says to Bella trying to make small talk to clear the awkwardness in the car. “I cut it since last time I saw you.” Bella replies. “Oh, guess it grew out again.” my dad says as it goes back to being quiet with them.
“How’s mom?” I ask.
“She’s good. She is travelling with Phil for his baseball career.” She tells me fiddling with her hair.
“That sounds like mom.” “Always wanting to be on the go.” I reply rolling my eyes.
We get home and I help Bella with her bags. I set her stuff in her old room “Well here ya go Bell’s.” I say to her moving away to give her room. Dad brings the rest of the bags up in her room.
“I cleared some shelves off in the bathroom.” he tells her as he moved slightly back towards the door. “It’s pretty good working lamp.” “Sales lady picked out the bed stuff.” he tells her.
I smile at his courtesy. He always looks out for us no matter how little the gesture is I always love it and tell him how much I appreciate him.
“You like, you like purple, right?” He asks her shuffling slightly. “Purple's cool.” Bella says back. “Thanks.”
I smile at her too. They are so awkward with each other its cute.
“Okay.” Dad says moving to leave us alone.
“Do you need some help unpacking?” I ask her.
“I think I got it.” “Thanks Layla.” She replies.
I give her a smile “Well if you do my room is down the hall.” I tell her leaving her to her unpacking.
I’m hanging out in my room when I hear a car honk in front of our house. Must be Billy and Jacob. They said they would be by later today when Billy called us yesterday. I put my book aside and head downstairs to greet them.
“I heard you guys coming all the way down the road. Billy says as Charlie and I get outside. I smile and give Billy a hug saying hello in the process.
“Good to see you.” Dad says shacking Billy’s hand while I look at Jacob, I can’t help but smile brightly at him. “Hey Jake.” I say moving to give him a hug as well. I wrap my arms around his broad strong shoulders that hide under his jacket. He wraps his arms around my waist returning the hug. I could feel the tingles running up my body thanks to our body contact. We pull apart as Bella arrives outside. I move to the other side of Jake as Bella goes to say hi to them.
“Bella, you remember Billy Black?” Dad asks her. ‘Yeah.” “Hey, you looking good.” she says while shaking Billy’s hand. “Well, I'm still dancin'.” “I'm glad you're finally here. Charlie here hasn't shut up about it since you told him you were coming.” Billy says in a teasing voice. I laugh.
“All right, keep exaggerating, I'll roll you into the mud.” Dad says to Billy moving away from the truck and towards the street in a teasing manner. “After I ram you in the ankles.” Billy says pulling his wheelchair towards dad in a chasing manner. Bella laughs with me and Jake at their childness. “Yeah, bring it.” says Charlie trying to punch him in a childish way.
Jacob moves away from me closer to Bella with starry eyes.
“Hi, I’m Jacob.”
He introduces himself to her again after a long time of not seeing her. I roll my eyes and try not to act jealous of Bella. Jacob has always had a crush on Bella ever since we were kids and I’ve had a huge ass crush on him over the years and it got even bigger when I phased, but he clearly doesn’t know because he has not phased himself yet. He’s still got time before he changes too.
“We um, we used to make mud pies together when we were little.” Jacob explains to her trying to get her memory refreshed of the old times. “Right, now I remember.” She says looking over at our dads. “Are they always like this?” she asks looking back over to me and Jake. “It’s getting worse with old age.” He replies.
I laugh and nod my head with agreement. “It’s cute though.” I add.
“So, what do you think?” Charlie says to Bella as he and Billy stop playing around. “What?” She asks confused. “Your homecoming present.” He replies tapping the red truck next to him. “This?” She asks in surprise. “Just bought it off Billy, here.” Dad says to her putting his other hand on Billy’s shoulder. “Yeah.” Billy says nodding his head at her. “I totally rebuilt the engine.” Jacob says proudly looking at Bella.
I smile at him “Such a handy man you are Jacob. I say to him smiling up. He looks down at me smiling back.
“Thank you.” He replies, “Oh come on.” “Oh my gosh!” “This is perfect.” Bella exclaims in excitement as she moves to the front seat. “You got to be joking.” She says as she opens the door and accidently hits Jacob as he moves to the other side of the truck to get into the passenger seat. “Oh sorry.” She apologizes as she gets in.
“Told you she’d love it.”” I'm down with the kids.” Billy tells Charlie making a funny pose. “Oh yeah, dude. You're the bomb.” Dad says sarcastically to his friend.
I shake my head at these two. As Jacob explains to Bella about the car I head into the house after telling dad I’m going in because I have to go meet Paul for a date. I wave at Bella and Jake on my way out after getting my stuff from my room. “I’ll see you guys later.” I tell them heading towards my mustang.

Platonic Yandere Cullen family x sibling reader (headcanons) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
(this takes place before the timeline of the books and movies)
OVERPROTECTIVE. like seriously the definition of the word. No matter what your age your family will not stand for anyone hurting you in any way. someone insults your outfit? expect one of your sisters to 'accidentally' bump into them and spill lunch on their clothes. someone is mean? next day all of their embarrassing thoughts spilt to the school.
also no friends. your family has jealousy issues loves you to much to let you spend time with anyone but them. They convince you that a friend well only hurt you and it's better to just stay with them.
and any type of date you might want to go on is instantly shot down. Edward can read thoughts so he will say no before you even get the words out. and if he's not in the room and you get to actually say something then that's shot down to even if you cry and fight them on it. they just want to keep you safe, why cant you accept that?
most likely carlisle and esme adopted you as a baby so that they could raise you to keep their secret from a young age. but no matter how old you get esme still well treat you like her baby, so prepare to never go to any party or dates ever. even if you beg carlise to talk to her about it, he probably won't since he loves seeing his wife happy.
once, you snuck out to a party that you heard someone at school talking about after your parents told you no. they sent emmett and jasper to drag you back home and you got in trouble with every member of your family. plus got grounded for a month
when your grounded your family keeps you home from school and spends every moment with you, since of course it was the lack of attention you received that caused you to break a rule.
it is hard for them since you are human still, your brothers cant mess around with you because your so fragile. once they tried playing catch with you but emmet threw the ball to hard and it broke your arm. he felt horrible and spent the next few weeks apologizing in different ways, he also got in a lot of trouble with carlise and esme.
like said in another yandere twilight oneshot of mine, they want you to live a human life but their selfish desires well overcome them. although, you would probably have to have gotten hurt in some way for them to think about it.
they well ask you first. and if you say yes then they'll be thrilled and plan a day to do it where they can all be there to comfort you.
if you say no then they would probably do it unexpectedly, one of them would distract you while carlise or edward does it.
if that was the case then the second you wake up and feed they well shower you in apologys. seriously for the next few months they well get you whatever you want to earn your forgiveness
after your turn they well teach you everything about being a vampire, if you end up getting a gift then they become more protective then ever (if that's even possible).
maybe one day they might let you date another vampire. but of course it would have to be someone of there choosing.
and when bella comes into the picture a few years later you can completely expect her to become a platonic yandere for you aswell.

omg poly cullens taking care of a sick reader- i just wanna be doted on frfr
Poly Cullen x Sick reader
I loved writing this it took me 3 hours with people bothering me. I hold you like it. Lemme know what else you would like to see!
Currently you were at the Cullens house for a sleepover. At least that’s what charlie thought, and that’s also what you thought it was as well. You thought you’d have an exciting chill weekend with your secret lovers. That was until you had woken up with a tingle in the back of your throat, your eyes watering, both of your nostrils clogged, and you just simply felt like you were dying.
“Stop being dramatic.” Roseilane said, rolling her eyes.
“You don’t know how it is Rose, you’ve been dead for like a thousand years.” You said snapping but sneezing mid sentence. She frowned in response.
“ I may be dead but at least I’m not spreading my germs everywhere.”
“I blame Emmett.”
“ Wait, what why me?!” He said standing up from the desk he was sitting on.
“ Because you were the one who insisted that we go spend ‘Alone time’ together and go skinny dipping even though you know damn well I can’t swim! That water was cold as hell.” You answered, lifting your tongue as Carlise put a thermometer under your tongue.
When you had woken up immediately complaining you were in Edward's room sleeping with him, because the two of you hadn’t had any alone time together in a while and you could tell it was bothering him. Though he wouldn’t admit it he was grateful that you had chosen to sleep with him without him asking.
I’m not saying it was easy to do so, It was practically like prying a child's favorite toy away with Rose and Emmett. They did not give up without a fight.
“What do you mean you don’t wanna sleep with us?” Rose questioned.
“ I just wanna sleep with Edward tonight, You’ve done nothing wrong Rose.” You replied in attempts to comfort the defensive vampire.
“But we wanted to watch the game with you, You said you would.” Emmet argued back.
“I know I know but I’m tired, I just wanna take a bath and lay down. Me and Edward haven’t had any time alone together so I thought that me and him could cuddle while I fall asleep. I promise you two did nothing wrong.” You said kissing Rosalie cheek then doing the same to emmett. The frown on their beautiful faces pained you but they weren’t the only one’s in this relationship.
In Fact you had to think about the last time you spent alone time with Carlise and Esme. They always say that “Your presence in the house alone is enough time for us.” But you know that’s just them being the adults of everything and that is not the case. You knew that just like the rest of the Cullens they went through their own version of possessiveness, it was only right with the soul bond between you all. It’s just they had a better way of hiding it than the others.
Rosalie and Emmett would pout and huff like children.
Edward would hide himself in the woods or stuff himself in his room. Saying that he just needed ‘alone time’. When we all knew he needed the exact opposite.
Jasper would be more distant than normal, lost in his thoughts.
Esme would clean. Like there would never be a spot of dirt around this house when she was feeling alone.
And Carlisle would just bury himself with work. Always taking up extra hours making sure he is busy enough to not think too much about it.
All of your partners were just begging for attention but none of them would voice it out loud.
So right before you went to sleep you stated to yourself in your head that you would make time for each Cullen the next day even if they each only got a hour alone with you, Something was better than nothing.
That was until you woke up feeling like shit.
Carlisle shook his head, taking the thermometer from under your tongue. “You have a fever.”
“I could tell that from down the hall she’s sweating like she’s a witch and we just set her on fire” Edward said with his emo attitude upset that his time with me got cut short because of Emmett’s shenanigans
“Edward please.” Carlisle said tucking your hair behind your ear while pulling you closer to him to kiss your forehead. This made you smile. You had middle his forehead kisses. You felt like he always gave the best ones. You wouldn’t dare say that out loud ever though. You know Rose would kill you out of jealousy.
“I’m going to get you medicine okay? You’ll be okay.” Carlisle said, pulling away from you when Jasper walked into the room. You nod in response.
“Esme and Alice are making you some soup.” Jasper said with a sly smirk on his face know your next words.
“Soup? Ew You know I can’t stand soup! That shit is nasty. I'm not eating it.” You said, shaking your head and frowning in distaste. You heard soft laughs in response.
“It will make you feel better, I promise.” Jasper said in his southern accent that just honestly was a panty dropper you would always tell him.
“That doesn't help me at all, I’d rather eat sand.” You said rubbing your eyes as you felt a pounding headache come on.
As if sensing your discomfort, Carlisle was right by your side again with supplies in his hand. Rubbing your back with one hand he put his things down on the table you were sitting on.
“You need to rest, Whose room would you like to sleep in? I’ve already contacted Charlie and told him you fell with a cold so you shouldn’t worry about him. He’s fine.” he stated but you were now faced with the most difficult decision of the day.
Looking around the room Jasper was standing by the doorway watching you with calculating eyes still with the sly smirk of his which always made your heart pound. Him hearing it he chuckled, his actions made you look away in embarrassment.
Looking towards Emmett and Rose. Emmett was sitting on the table near the window and Roselie was sitting in between his legs and they both were looking at you with their signature puppy eyes. Moving your eyes to edward very quickly because you knew if you stared at them for too long you would give in.
Edward looked lost in his thoughts which would always make you put him because you felt that he felt like he was lonely. You would call him the lone wolf of the pack which he hated. But he couldn’t stay mad at you just like you couldn't pick just one of them right now. You need all of them right now. And that’s exactly what you would have.
Jumping down from where you were sitting with the help of Carlisle you didn’t respond verbally. You  just did your hand moment you would always do when you wanted all of the Cullens to follow you but didn’t feel like saying it out loud. And they always answered.
Walking to the kitchen where Esme and Alice were, like she could smell you in the air she turned around with a smile on her face.
“There you are my beautiful, Your soup is almost done. Would you like me to add anything to it?” She said so softly, like if she spoke too loudly you would melt aways in pain. Which was a high possibility the way you were feeling.
“Nope, you didn’t even have to make me anything you know, I would’ve been fine without.”
“Oh no, you know I love a chance to use the kitchen for you.” She said making you smile because you knew it was true.
“Well if you must, can you come up to the room where you're done?” You asked which she nodded in response to. Satisfied with your answer you turned around walking up the stairs to Carlisle and Esme bedroom.
All that could be heard behind you were soft footsteps of all of your lovers following you.
Once you made it to the room you sat on the bed finally speaking.
“All of you, all of us, and all of me. Here in this bed now.” Leaving no room for argument, you got comfortable.
The first to get in the bed with you was Jasper surprising you. He claimed his spot behind you so that you were in his arms and laying on him.
“The best spot in the house.” He whispered into your ear making you giggle at the ticklish feeling.
Soon following along, each Cullen claimed their spot next to you. Everyone getting one piece of their love. They were satifisty. Meaning so where you.
Once everyone was relaxed Esme came up to the room to feed you the soup she had made you. Though you tried to fight it, you were falling weaker and weaker each minute. This ‘cold’ was kicking your ass. Soon after she was done feeding you she also claimed her spot between you and Caslise.
A few minutes into laying there you felt your eyes growing heavy. The feeling of hands all over you. The coolness of your lovers cooling you down. You felt content. But you had One question.
“Guys, can I ask you something?”
“Anything.” Each of them said collectively.
“Would you love me if I was a worm?”
“Oh my god-”
“I’d probably step on you.”
“I’d keep you in a beautiful enclosure.”
“I’d give you a little cowboy hat-”
“That’s so stupid.”
And just like that. You were out like a light.

Garrett x Tiger shapeshifter reader
Where the reader is an older woman who is in her late 40 - early 50's. She has long black hair with a hit of grey. She is half Japanese and Black (She gives me Kelly hu - an actress from Martial Law and Halle Berry vibes). She can transform into a white tiger. She is trained in several Martial arts and speaks several languages.
She is friends with Esme and Carlise. They have known each other since the reader was in her early teens. They kind of adopt the reader (even though the reader is now old enough to be their parents - Emmett calls her granny) after she was kick out of her home because her family did not like that, she was a female white tiger.
Garrett meets her during the training to defeat Victoria and her army of newborns. One of the wolves Paul said something about the reader which has resulted in a fight causing the reader to transform into her tiger form and kicks Paul's butt by pinning to the ground by his throat and growling at him.
feel free to add anything else.

(Y/n) was no stranger to the supernatural world, and her true nature as a white tiger shifter had been a closely guarded secret for decades. She had known the Cullens since her early teens, and their friendship had evolved into something deeper, akin to family. Despite the age difference, Esme and Carlisle had embraced her as one of their own, offering her refuge and unconditional love when she had nowhere else to turn.
It had all begun years ago when (Y/n) was a vulnerable teenager, grappling with her newfound shifter abilities. Her family, a clan of black tiger shifters, had ostracized her the moment her true form was revealed. For them, anything other than the sleek black stripes was considered an abomination. It was a harsh lesson in the unforgiving nature of her own kind.
Alone and desperate, she had wandered the woods, unaware of the fate that awaited her. That's when she had stumbled upon the Cullens, a vampire family who, instead of seeing her as a threat, had recognized her pain and offered her solace.
Esme and Carlisle, the matriarch and patriarch of the Cullen family, had sensed her despair and taken her in without hesitation. To (Y/n), their home was a sanctuary, a place where she could finally be herself, her true self, without fear of judgment or persecution.
Over the years, (Y/n) had grown close to the Cullens, forming a unique bond with each member of the family. It wasn't just the protection of the Cullens' supernatural abilities that made her feel safe; it was their genuine love and acceptance that had healed her wounded soul.
Emmett, the jovial and boisterous member of the family, had a special nickname for her: "Granny." Though she was old enough to be their parent, her youthful appearance and her enduring friendship with the Cullens had earned her the affectionate moniker.
As she looked around the Cullen's grand, light-filled home, (Y/n) couldn't help but smile. The family portraits on the walls showcased the years they had spent together. They were her family now, her true family, and nothing could ever break the bond they had forged.
And so, as (Y/n) basked in the warmth of their love and acceptance, she couldn't help but be grateful for the day she had stumbled upon the Cullens, a chance encounter that had transformed her life and given her a second family, one that would stand by her side through eternity.
Today was like none of it is apparently a Norman vampire by the name of Victoria has been pissed off at the Cullen family for killing her meat after she had brutally attacked one of their members, Edwards girlfriend, Bella Swan. Apparently she was building a newborn army to take down the Cullen family and having caught word of it the Cullen family. what’s quick to prepare for the upcoming battle that they knew they would have no choice but to face.
The Cullens had called in reinforcements, knowing that the impending battle with Victoria and her army of newborns would require all the help they could muster. Among those invited was Garrett, a nomadic vampire known for his combat skills and his fierce determination to protect those he cared about. They even went as far as to invite (y/n) seeing as how she was a fierce member of their family and was well experienced in the art of fighting and weaponry.
The day of training was intense, with the Cullens and their allies gathered in a secluded clearing deep in the forest. It was here that Garrett first laid eyes on (Y/n), the enigmatic white tiger shifter. She was a striking sight, her silver fur glistening in the dappled sunlight as she moved with grace and power.
Carlisle had introduced Garrett to the group, explaining their plan to defeat Victoria's army and emphasizing the importance of unity in the face of danger. Garrett nodded, his eyes lingering on (Y/n) for a moment longer than necessary.
As the training session progressed, tensions simmered beneath the surface. The wolves and vampires had a history of animosity, and it didn't take much for tempers to flare. Paul, one of the wolves, couldn't resist making a snide comment about (Y/n), taunting her about her unusual shifter abilities.
His words stung like a venomous bite, pushing (Y/n) to her limit. She clenched her fists, her anger simmering as her tiger instincts threatened to take over. Before anyone could react, she transformed into her formidable tiger form, her silver-and-white stripes shimmering in the sunlight.
With a powerful leap, she lunged at Paul, her massive paw swiping at him and sending him sprawling to the ground. Her sharp claws dug into the earth, pinning him down by his throat. A menacing growl rumbled from her chest as her vibrant blue eyes locked onto his.
Paul struggled beneath her, his bravado fading in the face of the fierce predator. The other wolves and vampires watched in awe as (Y/n) asserted her dominance, her message clear: she would not tolerate disrespect.
Carlisle moved swiftly to defuse the situation, calming (Y/n) with his soothing voice and reassuring presence. As her aggression waned, she reluctantly released Paul, who scrambled to his feet, gasping for breath.
"(Y/n), enough," Carlisle said gently, his hand resting on her massive shoulder. She reluctantly transformed back into her human form, her chest heaving with residual anger.
Paul, thoroughly chastened and nursing his bruised ego, realized the gravity of the situation. He nodded in submission, muttering an apology to (Y/n) as he rubbed his sore throat.
The training session continued, albeit with a newfound respect for (Y/n)'s abilities and boundaries. Garrett, too, had gained a deeper appreciation for the white tiger shifter, recognizing her as a force to be reckoned with, both in her human and animal forms.
As the day wore on, the group forged a tentative camaraderie, understanding that they needed to put aside their differences and work together to face the imminent threat posed by Victoria and her relentless army of newborn vampires.
In the days that followed the intense training session, Garrett found himself increasingly drawn to (Y/n). Her strength, both physical and emotional, had left a lasting impression on him. He admired her courage and determination, traits that resonated with his own fiercely independent spirit.
However, Garrett was also acutely aware of the impending battle with Victoria and her newborn army. The looming threat cast a shadow over any personal desires, and he knew that their focus had to remain on the task at hand.
As they prepared for the inevitable confrontation, Garrett and (Y/n) fought side by side, honing their combat skills and strategizing with the rest of the Cullens and their allies. Their interactions were marked by camaraderie, mutual respect, and a shared sense of purpose.
Nights were spent around the Cullen family's grand dining table, where the group would discuss battle plans and potential scenarios. In those moments, Garrett couldn't help but steal glances at (Y/n), his heart quickening each time their eyes met.
Yet, he kept his feelings to himself, prioritizing the mission over his personal desires. There was too much at stake, and he couldn't afford to be distracted by matters of the heart.
The day of the battle finally arrived, and tension hung heavy in the air. As Victoria's army descended upon them, chaos and chaos reigned. Garrett and (Y/n) fought valiantly alongside the Cullens and their allies, each of them determined to protect their loved ones and the peace they had fought so hard to maintain.
The battle was fierce and unforgiving, with lives on the line and no room for hesitation. (Y/n)'s tiger form was a formidable force on the battlefield, her agility and strength making her a formidable opponent. Garrett marveled at her prowess, even as he fought to hold his own against the newborn vampires.
Hours passed like an eternity, and the relentless onslaught showed no sign of abating. It was only after the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the battlefield, that the tide began to turn in their favor.
Victoria's forces dwindled, their ranks thinning as the Cullens and their allies fought with unwavering determination. Finally, the moment they had all been waiting for arrived. Victoria herself was cornered, her red eyes filled with desperation as she realized her defeat was imminent.
In a final, decisive battle, the Cullens and their allies emerged victorious. Victoria was defeated, and her threat was no more. The relief that washed over the group was palpable, but it was tempered by the knowledge of the lives lost in the process.
With the battle behind them and the threat eliminated, Garrett finally felt the weight of his unspoken feelings for (Y/n). The adrenaline that had fueled their fight now left room for introspection, and he knew that it was time to act on his emotions.
As the group regrouped, battered but victorious, Garrett approached (Y/n) with a hesitant smile. "We did it," he said, his voice filled with a mix of exhaustion and relief.
(Y/n) turned to him, her eyes reflecting the same mix of emotions. "Yes, we did," she replied, her voice soft but filled with the same underlying intensity that had drawn Garrett to her.
It was a small, unspoken acknowledgment of the bond they had forged through the trials of battle, a bond that had the potential to grow into something deeper, something that transcended the chaos of the supernatural world. Garrett knew that now was the time to let his heart guide him, and he was prepared to do just that.

BELOVED
Cullen Clan x Reader Oc
Tumblr media
Beloved ; Chapter One
E N E R G Y
"When will she arrive Alice ?" Esme asked from her place within her mates arms , Carlise placed a gentle kiss on the crown of her head getting a beautiful smile from the woman.
"She's already here , she's close and i can feel her but i can't tell when we'll find her or when she'll find us." She answered , bouncing lightly on her toes as she linked her hands together behind her back.
Jasper smiled fondly at his wife as he sat on the couch in front of her , holding his hand out he beckoned her to him. Alice placed her hand in his and moved to sit on his thigh as his arms wrapped around her waist.
"Maybe we should go looking for her ?" Bella suggested as she leaned onto Edward.
Alice pursed her lips in thought before shaking her head , looking onto her best friend with a smile.
"I don't think we should , it'll feel wrong to go searching for her when we're supposed to find one another by fate." She explained.
"Yes , let's not force anything. Soon enough she'll come to us and when she does we'll be here." Carlise added , with a nod of his head.
The family silently agreed and began to separate, venturing off to their own places within the home they shared.
Bella sat on the couch besides Edward who hadn't said a word since Alice awoke from her vision.
"What're you thinking about ?" She asked , skimming her hands over his until he turned to face his palm upwards , tangling his fingers in hers.
"What she'll be like , if she's human , if she'll be a supernatural being , if she'll be happy here." Edward listed off.
Edward didn't know if he and Rosalie could handle being mated to another human , although Rosalie had never been mated to a human he knew how she felt about Bella when she first started to come around and he knew how she felt when she noticed that Bella was choosing what she thought was the wrong way to live.
Edward however didn't think he could go through the horrors of almost having another person he was bound to love taken away from him whether it be by the laws of humanity , the Volturi or any enemies they had unknowingly made over the years. He was afraid.
"I don't think you should be afraid , because i know you are." She caressed his face , turning his head towards her so she could lock eyes with him. "She will be loved no matter what , by all of us and she'll be perfect no matter who or what she is."
Edward searched Bella's eyes for a while before ultimately nodding his head and letting out a breath he didn't realize he was holding.
Moving to kiss her , Bella accepted his affection and returned the gesture before breaking away from him.
Her brows furrowed in thought as she looked around the now empty living room.
"What's the matter ?" Edward asked.
"Where is Renesmee ?"
Tumblr media
Deep into the woods of Forks , the dirt covered the ground in the thickest layers anyone had ever seen. It had become moist because of the constant raining , melting away a few layers turning it into a muddy playground.
Renesmee hollered with laughter as Jacob ran on all fours through those very woods. In his wolf form Jacob leaped over the largest rocks , tree branches and hills that he could find just to hear her laugh. It brung him nothing but joy to see his imprint in such a state of happiness.
"Faster Jake !" Renesmee playfully demanded as she gripped the fur on the back of his neck.
Mentally smiling at the sound of her voice Jacob did just as he was told and braced himself for the jump he was about to do.
Ahead of the two was a large pond , it looked to be about ten feet wide and very shallow , he could've easily just ran through it but where's the fun in that.
Renesmee caught sight of something just on the other side of the river bank before focusing on it before she noticed what Jacob was about to do.
Jacob ran as fast as his legs could carry him , jumping high into the air and over the pond once again hearing Renesmee scream in laughter before he slowed down to a stop and let the young woman and himself catch his breath.
Renesmee let herself focus deeper on what she had seen before they had crossed the river. Jacob sniffed the air as he looked around , someone was here and they didn't smell like a human but also didn't smell like any creature he had come to know. He became guarded.
Jumping off of his back Renesmee pets behind his ear reassuring him that she was okay and wasn't afraid , she could feel the power of whatever being was in these woods. They had a great source of power and energy but also held some sense of familiarity to them , she didn't feel threatened being in that space.
Moving closer to what she had seen before she came to realize that it was a burnt down home of some sort , everything was mostly ashes but some wood still remained , a few things were scarce around the land.
She knelt down and moved to touch the piece of cloth that laid in the rubbage , her eyes spacing out as her vision glazed over to a milky white.
A woman ran into the home holding the ends of her flowing dress , her black dreads quickly being tied into a bun on top of her head as she scrambled around.
She grabbed a few things (from what Renesmee could see it was a few books , a few amulets and some very small trinkets) Everything she held dear to her was ran out of the house and into the woods a few paces away from said home.
She could hear the yelling and cursing coming from the crowd of people behind her as she dropped to her knees and buried her belongings deep into the dirt.
She closed her eyes and said a few words in a different language , almost like she was casting a spell over her things before she stood to her feet and took a deep breath staring up at the full moon.
Everything sounded like radio silence to Renesmee ears now as the lady spoke to the moon.
Half of the crowd that carried torches , pitch forks and anything else that could be considered a weapon back then set the small home on fire while the other half snatched the woman up.
Two men sent up a noose while two others held the now calm woman in their grips.
The woman stared out in peace at the woods around her , her eyes holding no hatred as she looked at the mob that had been formed against her.
She looked at her now burning home , her heart aching at the sight but she knew nothing else inside was more important to her than the things she had gathered and buried.
Renesmee looked on , unshed tears in her eyes as she watched the lady be strung up onto the highest tree.
The crowd began to chant something repeatedly as six men pulled the rope , holding it over their shoulder as they walked away from the tree , the further they walked the higher the woman was strung up. They were hanging her.
Renesmee covered her mouth as she gasped , the woman being hung right before her eyes blinked and looked directly at the crying girl.
As the woman showed no signs of restraint , the life started to fade from her eyes and she took her last breath.
As she was dropped back to the ground the same six men that hung her carried her body to a hole some others had dug , she was thrown inside without a care and buried beneath the piles and piles of dirt.
Renesmee snapped out of her trance , if you could even call it that and stared at the brunt wood in shock , horror and a bit of angst.
Jacob in his wolf form moved to stand over her , nudging her head with his snout.
Standing to her feet and looking around , she just knew the woman was the energy she had felt. She knew she was buried out here somewhere and she didn't want to leave until she found her but as she looked to the sky she watched as it began to darken , a full moon coming to the surface as the sun went down.
Swinging her leg over Jacob's back , she climbed on and gripped at his fur again before petting his head one more time.
"Let's go home Jake."
As Jacob began to run off Renesmee glanced back and mentally promised that she'd help the lady whenever she could if she could.
Making it home before it got too dark Renesmee jumped off of Jacob's back and walked up the steps of her home as her parents stood at the doors.
"Hi Jacob." Edward greeted the wolf as his daughter ran into his arms.
He kisses her head and watched as his wife walked down the steps , petting Jacob and sitting a shirt , some boxers , a pair of jeans and a pair of socks behind the trees.
Bella moved back up the stairs and hugged her daughter.
"Why didn't you tell anyone you had left with Jake ?" She questioned as she ran her hands through her daughters ever growing hair.
"I told aunt Alice." Renesmee responded in light confusion , her brows furrowed.
Edward chuckled , she looked just like her mother when she made that face.
The parents glanced at one another and shook it off knowing good and well why it slipped Alice's mind.
"Go wash up for bed , you have school in the morning."
Waving bye to Jacob and kissing both her parents on the cheek Renesmee did as she was told and ran into the house , passing the entire family whom she also waved at before she made it into her bedroom.
Her mind was heavy with the woman in the woods , she wanted so badly to know why she was hung.
What would make people do such a thing ?
She knew there were some very mean people out there , she had met some first hand as a young child but she couldn't wrap her head around what she was shown.
She began to think about the woman's looks , she was short with brown skin and long black dread locs. She was so pretty.
As she laid in bed and began to drift off to sleep Renesmee once again swore to herself that she'd do whatever she could to help her.
Tumblr media
Inside the woods at the very spot Renesmee had just left from , the moon beamed brightly across the river and onto the ground.
The ground shaking the mud began to melt away , leaving the out print of a ditch in its wake.
Something was being unearthed.
Quick reminder all of these events are made up from my crazy ass imagination and takes place ten years after breaking dawn part 2.
Renesmee is 18 so there’s no weirdness that should be felt towards her relationship with Jacob even though i don’t state that there is one !!
Also would someone be kind enough to teach me how to make a masterslist ? I want to set one up for this story seeing as it will be a series and i don’t want people to have to scroll all down my page to find parts they want to read and whatnot.

Your Life Has Only Just Begun - Cullen Clan x GN!Reader (Part 6)
Tumblr media
TW: Nothing //
Summary: Bella Swan shows up at the Cullen's house wondering why they haven't been at school the last few days. Edward decides he doesn't want to give the young girl any attention and instead leaves to go upstairs and check on reader.
----------------------------------------------
A knock on the front door breaks everyone out of their thoughts, Edward gets up off the couch and walks over to the door, opening it. He is met with the pale face of Bella Swan. He musters up a fake smile. "Hey. Bella, right? What brings you here?" The young vampire couldn't careless why she was here, he wanted her to leave and never come back. Bella fidgets under his intense stare, it was making her feel uncomfortable, exposed. "Umm.. You weren't at school, I thought I would come by to see if you and the rest of your family were okay." Her voice trembled ever so slightly, did he scare her? Before Edward could reply, Alice barged her way in between them both, a big smile on her face inviting Bella inside.
Edward loathed how his adopted sister enjoyed being around these humans, they were just walking blood bags. Food for the other vampires. Alice guided Bella over to the couch in the living room, ushering her to sit down. Esme being the motherly figure she is, she offered to make Bella something to eat or to simply make her a drink, in the end Bella denied Esme; making the woman feel a little upset. Edward didn't like people disrespecting his family, it made anger grow deep inside him. Jasper sensing his brother grow angrier, he grabbed his arm and pulled him out the room and up the stairs to Carlisle's office. The sight of y/n made him calm down, or maybe it was Jasper messing with his emotions, he didn't really know nor did he care.
"Do you think they will wake up soon? It's been days, they haven't eaten." Worry flashed across both the Cullen boys faces. Before Jasper could answer his brother, the door opened revealing a drained looking Rosalie. The blonde girl sat down in front of y/n, she held onto their hand tightly, not wanting to let go. She looked a mess, hair all over her face, shoulders slumped, dark circles under her eyes signifying she hasn't fed in awhile. Jasper and Edward looked at their sister, feeling hopeless. Jasper felt all of Rosalie's pain, the guilt was too much for her, he knew how much she hated herself for what she had done. The silence in the room was deafening, it made them all uncomfortable, that was soon changed when a whine left y/n's lips. They started to move ever so slightly, gripping onto Rosalie's hand. The two boys sped over to them, watching them rise from their sleep for the first time in days.
Frantic shouting could be hard from upstairs, making Bella confused. What was happening up there? She thought, She watched as Carlise ran up the stairs, probably going to check out what was going on. Alice was sat beside Bella on the couch talking the poor girls ear off, not that she was paying attention anyway. "and then y/n just collapsed." That caught her attention. "I'm sorry, what did you just say?" Bella's interest piqued. The small pale girl looked offended "Were you not listening to me?" Bella avoided eye contact, she felt bad, she really did but she also didn't care all that much; she was only here because she was worried about Edward. Bella found him mesmerising, he was unlike anyone she has ever met. She needed to talk to him, get to know him. Alice sighed, she thought she finally found a friend that didn't think she was weird or abnormal but she was wrong, everyone would always see her that way. "Maybe you should go, we're busy today." With that, Alice led Bella to the front door and watched her walk off to her orange pickup truck.
Everyone was now in Carlisle's office, watching y/n gulp down their fourth glass of water. "How are you feeling?" They turned their head in the direction of the voice, looking directly into the eyes of Esme Cullen. Y/n never got the chance to properly meet the mother of young Cullens. "I'm starving, mind if I use your kitchen to make something to eat?" Laughs filled the room causing y/n to smile. Esme nodded at them and led them downstairs to the kitchen. Y/n started making pancakes, the smell of human food made the Cullens feel sick but they endured it for the sake of y/n. After finishing up with making their food and washing the dishes, they sat down at the island scoffing the food down, barely even chewing. Emmett laughed at the sight, they were perfect for this family, unapologetically themself.
Once everything had calmed down and y/n was feeling better, Carlisle brought them to his office and sat them down on the couch where they had been for majority of the week. "I hope you're feeling better now, there is just something I would like to talk to you about, darling." The pet name causing a light pink hue to spread across y/n's cheeks, a small smile played on his lips at the sight. They nodded their head for Carlisle to continue "I don't exactly know how to say this, so I'm just going to get to the point... What was the smoke that surrounded you when you collapsed?" Y/n was hesitant at first but told Carlisle everything they knew about it, which wasn't all that much. He was intrigued, as far as he knew y/n was still human but they possessed a gift that could make everyone feel intense emotions, it was like they were projecting their emotions onto everyone else. But it didn't make sense to Carlisle, how did the smoke tie into everything, the only time he knew of any gifts with smoke were the Volturi, he couldn't bring them into this or his whole family would be in danger or worse, they would take y/n away and turn them in hopes of having someone that could cause immense pain just like Jane.
The Cullens wanted y/n to stay with them for a little while longer, just so they were able to get their strength back but alas, they had to go home and check on their mother. They knew she didn't care about them but they had questions that needed to be answered, more importantly they needed a shower and a change of clothes. Y/n started to get ready to leave when Alice and Rosalie walked over to them "I'm sorry for what I did to you, if it wasn't for me you wouldn't have been in a coma.." Y/n felt bad for Rose, she was only try to protect her family and that, y/n couldn't blame her for anything. They embraced the blonde vampire, the warmth of their body bringing Rosalie comfort as she held them close to her. Alice joined the hug, comforting both of them. Y/n loved Alice, her presence made everything feel better, thy just didn't like how happy she was all the time.
The group broke apart as Edward walked into the room, he went straight over to the door that led outside, waiting for y/n to join him. They walked out of the house together, side by side. Edward opened the car door for y/n to get in, they thanked him as he closed their door getting in on the other side. The drive back to y/n's house was quiet, usually they liked it but they knew there was something wrong with him. "What's wrong Eddie?" Edward was taken aback but the nickname, he didn't know how to react. The silence came back again, leaving y/n feeling like they upset him again. They turned away from his direction and stared out the window, they sat up straight as they saw a big black wolf run past. Y/n heart sped up, grabbing the attention of Edward. "What's wrong? It looks like you've just seen a ghost." He laughed slightly, hoping to brighten the mood a bit. Y/n look over at him, their face more pale than before. "I'm pretty sure I just saw a huge wolf run past." Their was monotone, yet it also sounded like they were just trying to hide their fear.

A/N : Some cute Cullen's carving pumpkins cus I'm feeling spooky! :)
Tumblr media
pairings : cullen family/coven x reader

tws : none, a tiny bit of angst
-
Esme loved the warm feeling of autumn. It masked the hollow feeling the gloomy Forks weather gave her. Pumpkin spice and cider gave more life to the compulsory shelter of shade. With this love for the season, it was almost imperative that she and her family take part in festivities.
Emmet stumbled up the steps into the dining room clumsily with a pumpkin that should have been to heavy for him to carry. You, Alice and Rosalie just chuckled quietly watching the odd demonstration of strengthen.
“Not on the mahogany!” Esme scolded emmet, an alarmed stretched out hand. “It was custom.” She smiled a friendly smile and took one of the pumpkins to place on an alternative table.
Carlisle entered the room, kissing his wife softly on the cheek and placing an array of pumpkin carving tools on the table, you smiled lightly. Nothing couldn’t be eccentric with this family. Always over the top. Maybe the materialistic motive was to make up for the moral warmth they lacked.
You hadn’t realised Edward had entered the room, a calculating look on his face. As if he wasn’t so sure him self.
“Mines gonna look fucking awesome.” Emmet laughed, placing a pumpkin in front of himself and beginning to hack away at it.
Familial festivities always held such deep memories for Emmet. It reminded him of his family, of his siblings. Though he missed it, he was happy he got to experience these things with the people he loves, especially the one he loved the most. But there was always a tinge of anguish in his heart, that those memories where just memories.
“Language.” Esme tried not to show her amusement as she began to carve her pumpkin in a more graceful manner, if they weren’t solid stone she would have warned him to be careful. Those warnings where resigned for you, the only mortal among vampires.
Alice began to draw out an intricate design on her pumpkin, to create something more artistic than festive. In her personal opinion without fall fashion autumn would be tacky. Edward sat in silence, not of lack for what to say but purely entertained by the thoughts of his company.
As you began to carve into your pumpkin, Carlisle was suddenly stood behind you.
“Your going to need stitches if you continue like that.” He laughed. Softly, he guided your hands to a more careful method of gutting your pumpkin.
And you continued like that. Intervals of laughter and caution. The American dream. And for a moment you could have sworn they became human again. Like all scientific fact had been voided for only one thing. Family.

Chapter 13
Nothing.
She felt nothing.
There had never been a time (Y/N) could not point out what she was feeling. With a vast understanding of the human psyche, she always knew the clinical term of every sentiment there was and could be — their variations and changes were all committed to her memory. But all she felt was overcome by a gut-wrenching void that took hold of her body. She found herself wishing for the pain she’d felt when Carlisle had first confessed he was a vampire. At least then she had felt something.
She had spent the night at Sam’s house, too distraught to go back home. (Y/N) knew she had fallen asleep on Paul, his warmth the only comfort she could possibly feel in such a confusing situation.
All through the night, her head kept replaying the five stages of grief — denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Once the list had ended it would start over again, engraving it in her brain over and over and over again. Her clinical training beat into her the steps she needed to take. But there was no one to take them with.
This kind of grief, she felt, was incomplete. Sure she had not believed Carlisle at first. She’d gone through some type of denial. Yeah, she was enraged at the fact that he left her like she meant less than nothing to him. She’d gone through anger — maybe still stuck there. But who was there to bargain with? He was gone. There was no denial anymore, she was not allowed that much. (Y/N) wanted at least to feel the overtaking sadness that depression would bring, but she simply felt nothing. And she’d already accepted that he was gone. He’d made sure she understood that much.
No one had taught her how to deal with this. How to deal with the culmination of a relationship with a centuries-old vampire that had promised her eternity together. A vampire that she had fallen completely in love with — her first love, her first kiss, her first… everything. Carlisle had given her everything and just as swiftly taken it away.
“(Y/N)?” Emily’s soft whisper rang through the room (Y/N) had somehow woken up in. “I made some breakfast if you want. I sent a text to your mom to let her know you’re okay.”
“Yeah, thanks,” she responded emotionlessly. “Is Sam back?”
“Yes, honey. He’s at the dining table.”
“Thanks. I’ll be right out.”
Emily clicked the door shut, leaving the girl once more to her thoughts. She noticed at the foot of the bed a change of clothes. Probably, Sam’s. They were some sweatpants and a T-shirt, a comfortable enough outfit for her. She changed out of the suffocating scrubs she wore, feeling them gripping her body harder than ever before.
Sam’s clothes almost hung off her body and she felt like a kid again. After their father had left suddenly, she’d taken to wearing the t-shirts he’d left behind to find some comfort in his absence. But these clothes still had their owner. He had not abandoned her — well, he’d come back.
With dragged feet, she made her way out into the kitchen where hushes were spread around. (Y/N) knew they’d heard her exiting the room and they had been talking about her. The Cullens leaving was the only thing anyone in the reservation could talk about, and unfortunately, the pack knew that involved her.
“There she is!” Jared exclaimed with a full mouth of food. But his face quickly fell with the burning gaze of everyone else at the table. “What?”
“How do you feel, (Y/N)?” Sam questioned, pulling out a chair for his sister. Somehow, she looked frail. He’d seen her sad before. Hell, he’d been the one to comfort her at six years old when their father left. But even then, she’d been different. Now, she looked fragile enough to break with a simple breath.
“Fine,” she responded. Everyone knew there wasn’t much more they’d get out of her. “Is there coffee?”
“Of course,” Emily smiled. “Sugar? Cream?”
“Two sugars, a bit of cream.”
“Alright.”
Emily placed a steaming mug in front of (Y/N), her signature beaming smile painted on her face. And where the girl would normally return the gesture, she couldn’t bring herself to even fake a smile. It was too exhausting to do so. So, she simply nodded.
“Why don’t we move to the living room, (Y/N)?” Sam whispered as he placed his hands comfortingly on hers. “The fire is already going, and it’ll be a lot warmer there.”
(Y/N) followed her brother, the hot cup between her frozen hands. She didn’t feel like talking – she didn’t feel much at all. But it was easier to simply follow what others told her. It was easier than doing whatever her brain was telling her to.
She sat next to Sam on the couch, curling into his side as he wrapped an arm around her. It was a strange sense of déjà vu. When they were little and (Y/N) had been sad, he would make her a cup of hot chocolate, sit her in front of the fire, and tell her stories until she fell asleep in his arms. And this moment was no different. She was sad, she needed comfort, and he would always be by her side.
“How’re you feeling, bean?” Sam asked her, using the name he’d called her when she was little. “I’m sorry I wasn’t here when you got here. Bella Swan got lost in the woods and the sheriff asked me to help look for her.”
“She must be heartbroken as well,” (Y/N) spoke, her voice barely a whisper and so full of pain. “I wonder how Edward ended things with her. It had to be awful if she wound up lost in there.”
“What happened yesterday, bean? I thought everything was going well,” he said. Worry was evident in his voice, the sound quivering and full of hurt. “I won’t lie,” he stated. “I am glad that the bloodsuckers are gone, but it pains me to see you like this. I thought he’d at least ask you to go with them.”
Quiet.
All she could do was remain quiet. That was the least he could have done. But he didn’t. He had thrown her away, discarded her like you would a used tissue. Carlisle had taken from her what he wanted and pushed her aside, without a real explanation or reason.
“Talk to me, (Y/N). Please,” Sam begged. “Tell me how you’re feeling – what you’re feeling. How can I make it better?”
“You can’t,” she sighed. A quiet sob escaped her lips and was only perceived by the adept ears of the supernatural. “No one can.”
“(Y/N)…”
“Sam, I understand that you’re trying to help but you simply can’t, okay?!” (Y/N) didn’t know why she was yelling. Her frustrations were misdirected but she couldn't help how it came out. “He’s gone, okay?! He took what he wanted and left. I wasn’t good enough for him to stay and I wasn’t worth taking with him. And I was ready to give it all up. You, my friends, mom… everything. I had made the choice to spend the rest of eternity by his side.
So now I’m stuck here having to figure out who I am and what my future will look like without him in it. I will have to mend my own heart that continues asking when he is coming back. No one can make it better, Sam. Not even myself.”
She slammed the coffee mug on the table harder than she intended to, but she needed to get away. (Y/N) could feel the walls of the house closing in on her, squeezing every ounce of oxygen that was inside. She felt her lungs aching, grasping at any air left for her to breathe. But she simply couldn’t. Her eyes had welled up with tears once more and her eyes burned from the liquid.
(Y/N) was already tired of crying. She was tired of feeling her world collapsing in on itself. Of having to pick up the pieces of her life every few years.  It wasn’t fair. She was doing everything right and everything still went wrong.
Somehow, she had stumbled out of the house, Sam’s voice distant in her head. He was calling for her but she could not listen. She needed to go somewhere else, anywhere else. She kept stumbling down the road without a real destination in mind. Her vision was blurred from her tears and her breathing was difficult.
But as she came face to face with the chipped white door, she knew where her head wanted to go. So, she knocked.
“I can’t believe you forgot your keys,” Allison laughed before she opened the door. “Oh, (Y/N). Honey, what’s wrong?”
“He’s gone, mom,” she blubbered against her mother’s neck. “He left. He left me.”
Allison had an inkling of who her daughter spoke of but made no move to extract any information. It was clear that (Y/N) was suffering from a broken heart, and she needed her mother’s comfort. She led the girl inside and sat them both on the couch, where she let (Y/N) cry to her heart’s content. She sat there running her hand through her daughter’s hair and drew circles on her back to try and console her child as best as she could.
The mother felt her daughter revert to the little girl that had her father walk out on her. The little girl that grew up too quickly, looking for the best education she could get to help out her mother. There in her arms, (Y/N) was broken. Merely a shell of who her daughter was.
When the girl drifted to sleep, Allison made a move for her phone, calling the only person that could have any idea of who had broken her daughter’s heart. And she hoped he would answer this one time. If not for her, for his little sister.
He did.
“Who did this to (Y/N)?” Her voice spoke softly through the phone, fearing she would wake her daughter. “She just came in here bawling her eyes out, muttering incoherences. She is completely heartbroken.”
“It was that Cullen doctor. Carlisle Cullen,” Sam sighed. “How is she, mom?”
“She just fell asleep after crying for a good twenty minutes. She is drained,” Allison let out a strangled sob. “Why didn’t I know about this?”
“(Y/N) wanted to keep this a secret for some time. Avoid being the talk of the town until the relationship was more serious.”
“This looks very serious to me, Sammy. She’s so… sad.”
“She’s tough,” Sam stated. “I know she’ll come out stronger after this. She just needs some time.”
“I hope so.” Allison kept quiet for a few seconds. This was the longest conversation she’d had with her son in a long time that had not transfigured into a fight. It hurt that it took her daughter to have been broken up with to be able to hear his voice. “I miss you, Sammy,” her voice was barely a whisper. Almost like a thought that had slipped out. “I miss you a lot.”
“I know, mom,” he sighed. “I miss you too.”
“I just wish we could be a family again. Regardless of whatever happened in the past,” Allison said, hopeful. “(Y/N) needs you… I need you.”
“You know I can’t, mom.”
“Why not, Sam?! What could possibly be more important than being with your family?”
“I can’t talk about that, mom. I just can’t.”
“You always say that, but I am your mother. Whatever it is that you’re involved in, I am sure I could help you, son.”
“Please, just drop it. I’ve told you many times that I can’t.”
“Fine. Goodbye, Sam.”
“Bye, mom,” he said resignedly.
“Don’t fight with him, mom,” (Y/N) croaked as her eyes fluttered open. “He has enough on his plate.”
“I’m sorry, darling,” Allison sighed as she ran her hand through her daughter’s hair. “Do you want to talk about it?  About the doctor?”
“You know.” It wasn’t a question. It was clear that her mother knew who had taken her heart and broken it into a million pieces. “Sam told you?”
“I had my suspicions early on,” her mother clarified. “You were spending so much time between the hospital and the Cullen’s house; it didn’t take long to connect the two dots. But, sweetheart, what happened last night? You seemed so happy these couple of months.”
“I was only a distraction it seems,” (Y/N) let out a soft sob. “I thought I had found the person I would share a future with. Instead, he left the second things got hard. History had a way of cruelly repeating itself, huh?”
“Oh, honey. I’m so sorry.” Allison hugged her daughter tight, guilt washing over her body. She knew the situation had not been her fault, but she couldn’t help but feel that her daughter’s taste in men had been hereditary. “Is there anything I can do for you? Anything to make things better.”
“I just need to sleep,” she sighed. “Yeah, I just need sleep.”
No matter that it was still the middle of the day, (Y/N) disappeared into her room to try and succumb to slumber. She drew the curtains closed, locked the door, and buried herself in a mountain of sheets and comforters. But nothing seemed to warm the cold the emptiness left. She had never felt cold like this before. It was chilling and it dug its way into her bones.
And somehow the coldness came hand in hand with tears. A floodgate that didn’t seem to stop and she could not control. Even when she thought her body had surely run out of tears, more came. They stung her eyes and made them swell. They stained her cheeks and burned her throat. They left her breathless and full of pain.
And yet, she still felt the nothingness deep inside her.
Allison couldn’t help but feel heartbroken as she heard her younger daughter cry for a man that had the gall to leave her this way. The worst part was that she could only stand and watch as her little girl fell apart. It was a sight that she had never prepared herself to witness, and didn’t want to again. If she ever crossed paths with the doctor, she would make sure he knew just how horrible he had treated her daughter.
***
“You could have done things differently, Carlisle,” a woman spoke, her eyes glazed over with a red hue. “She is in so much pain.”
“I could have but I didn’t, Theo,” he sighed. “And I didn’t come to you for grievances. I came to you for your ability and for the connection you have with her.”
“Well, old friend. I apologize if I overstepped in any way, but she is — or rather was, I haven’t seen her in some time — my friend,” Theo smiled softly as her eyes returned to their amber color. “I spent four years with her, and she is a rather peculiar human. She is as complex as they come and so bright, it simply pains me to see her this way. Especially since it’s your fault.”
“I had to have her hate me. (Y/N) had such a bright future ahead of her and I was only going to hold her back.” Carlisle did regret the bad decisions he had taken. He had built (Y/N) up only to have her crash and burn so suddenly. “The more she hates me, the easier it will be for her to move one. She’ll have a great life, especially away from me.”
“And how many times will you ask the clairvoyant to check in as she moves on as you want her to?”
“Not for much longer, Theo. I’m leaving New York once my family is finally settled here.”
“Leaving?” The girl was shocked. He had left the love of his life behind to keep his family together, and he was leaving them behind as well. “And where will you be going then?”
“For penance.”
Theo wanted to laugh, but the stoic expression on his face told her how serious he was. “Penance, Carlisle? Isn’t that a tad dramatic?”
“Do you think I deserve to go on with my life after all the pain I have caused the only person I have truly loved?” Carlisle was resolute in his punishment. He would do what he had done once when he turned into something he had hunted for most of his life – hide from humanity and deny himself the only thing he needed to survive. “It’s a punishment fit for the crime.”
“And don’t you think that knowing she will continue living without you by her side is punishment enough?” Theo tried to reason with her friend. “Breakups happen every day around the world. (Y/N) is strong. She will get over it. All she needs is some time, as do you.”
“You don’t understand, Theo. The things I told her… There’s no coming back from that. I used every word I knew would hurt her, deliberately. It’s something neither she nor I can forgive.”
“Well, I know I won’t be able to dissuade you from what you think you must do,” she sighed. “You know where I am. So, whenever you need me, you know where to find me.”
“The next time I see you, it might be too dangerous for me to be around humans. I’ll send you word of where I will be,” he smiled sadly. “I do ask for one more favor.”
“Sure, anything.”
“Don’t tell my family where I am going. They’ll surely do everything in their power to take me back, and I simply cannot.”
“I cannot tattle to someone I do not know, Carlisle,” she chuckled. “I have not had the pleasure to meet the rest of your family.”
“Better that you do not meet them now. In this situation, my family has been ruptured possibly beyond repair.”
“Give it time, Carlisle. Most things with time become clearer.”
“Isn’t the saying that time heals all wounds?”
“Time does nothing of the sort. If anything, time gives you choices. Time helps you build grudges; it stacks grievances upon grievances. Time doesn’t heal, it forces you to either live with your pain or find a way through it. Everyone has to make that choice at some point.”
“Then I hope (Y/N) can find a way through it because I will have to live with it.”
